Don't get me wrong, I loved to see so many of the lines from the books being brought to life. The "i like your stupid face" scene, the "i will have you without armour or not have you at all", Pekka Rollins' bluff scene had me terriffied because Freddy nailed Kaz So Freaking Well!! But most of these scenes only impacted me like the way they did, because I am superimposing the characters and their developments from the books onto the show. Take all that way, and consider only the bare bones of the show and there is nothing more than fan service and flimsy nonsensical character arcs.

We don't feel the full satisfaction of Pekka being brought to heel because we only found out 2 episodes ago why Kaz hates him. We don't see how long Kaz has been planning and waiting for this moment. We don't see the extent of trauma Kaz has faced because he's casually helping Inej with her wounds the first time we see her hurt.

Similarly the kanej scene doesn't have that heart crushing feel to it as it did in the books as we still don't feel Kaz's progression. Most of all, we haven't been shown Inej's tramua regarding touch. Her entire character revolves around Kaz, someone who has always been cold to her. And when he shows the first hint of affection to her she can't help but be emotional to him, instead of being angry or cold!

The wesper situation is a whole other shit fest and I need to rant separatley for that. Sure we get lots of fluff, but forget for a moment the wesper of the books and the entire illusion falls away..

There is zero emotional depth to any of the heavy scenes once you try to see them from the view point of someone who doesn't know anything about the books.

Konig is totally fine with your spending, as long as it's remotely reasonable – he has money and he is willing to spend on you if that would mean you will be sift and nice for him, never questioning his authority in the relationship. He isn’t above holding his credit card above your head because you started to act cranky and silly – you wanted to go out without him and, god forbid, get a hobby outside of the house?! Well, you can forget avout gifts for a while, his card getting taken away and your money privileges totally revoked until you're willing to apologize and promise you will never act like this again.
