Spring is right around the corner and natures bounty of colorful fruits and veggies will be flooding a farmers market near you. But what if you can’t afford an abundance of fruits and vegetables, want to remain healthy, but need to cut costs somewhere. Start an in-home garden! This master post of tips are apartment and inner city friendly. Some tips will require dirt, water and or rocks which mostly can be found anywhere. You will also need a container to grow food in. You can use old cans, the bottom part of a milk jug, egg cartons, old baskets etc. Get creative. You also need seeds. Basic plant seeds cost a little over $1 at most lawn and gardening stores, however if you want to cut costs more you can reuse leftover fruit and veggie scraps and regrow them.
