Sometimes, I think about how Furuya's cover would be So Done For the moment he finds himself together with Takagi/Satou, Kazami, and the kids at the same time.

If it's just Furukaza and Takasatou, then sure. Amuro the waiter could simply be dating a PSB officer. If they're just with the kids? Amuro just has his assistant, Hida-san. But all of them together? Busted. How do you explain yourself, Amuro-san?

This is also prompted by all the parallels that exist between these two pairs, especially in M25:

Takagi getting shot to protect Satou's life (even if it was a fake) while Furuya saves Kazami's life at the cost of getting collared with a bomb

Both Furuya and Satou drive a Mazda and are known for their absolute reckless driving (Satou's car even used to be white as well!)

Satou and Furuya are both haunted by Death in some way, and keep losing people they love to the grips of Death

A relationship between higher-ranked/senior and lower-ranked/junior colleagues in which one exclusively calls the other with the honorific "-san" despite being close

This one was a hard card to assign... but i think it works. Besides, ask someone who knows me how i feel about drawing books in the background of art.

Because these two are very couple and deserve more fanarts.

Admittedly i was originally going to use a different pairing for this card but i wanted to use the characters involved for different cards, and im still trying not to repeat.

I struggled with this one. This was my forth attempt, believe it or not. I feel like she's the correct level of intimidating, but the inner strength just isn't there... at least i made her pretty, but I might come back to this one to try to be more happy with it.

Is he the best person for the Hermit? Not really. But I'm doing it anyway cause the other person i would have made Hermit is going on a different card.

General Opinion over said character: I like her, pretty and funny and strong, I think one of the better female characters in the show. Love that she's kind of a slob at home

Status: Completed (5 Volumes)

Synopsis:

Osamu Hirota is an ordinary high school student. That is, until Soichi, a student from the next town over, takes him to a mysterious mansion with promises of meeting a seductress. Out walks a voluptuous woman named Miwako, who, as she undresses, reaches inside of Soichi and rips out his heart! The next day, Hirota awakens. Was it all a dream? Or have we just started to pull back the curtains on this dark and suspenseful story?

I just finished this manga and wow, I was so engaged until the end. It’s definitely one of those stories that sticks with you, and I’ll be thinking about it for hours. The writing is sharp, and there were so many moments where I had no idea where it was headed.

Spoilers below.

At first, I assumed it would follow that predictable path where the MC, after gaining some supernatural powers, would evolve into a typical shounen hero, fighting for good. Thankfully, it veered far from that trope and instead leaned into its tragic and horrifying elements right until the end, which is exactly the kind of manga I enjoy.

One twist that caught me off guard was Chika’s transformation - not just the physical change, but her true nature. She ended up being far more sinister than Miwako, which was unexpected. She initially came off as the kind of character who would just worsen the protagonist's situation by being overly “nice” and somewhat annoying, but she turned out to be much darker than I ever anticipated.

As for Miwako, I hated her at the start, but as the story unfolded, my feelings got complicated. She’s a villain through and through, but her presence kept the story moving in unpredictable directions.

Soichi’s character left me with mixed feelings, especially with the questionable dynamics in the story. Then again, it’s a horror manga, so moral grayness and discomfort are part of the package. The artwork, though, was absolutely stunning - it's hard to believe I’d never heard of this author before.

Overall, it's a great manga and is definitely worth checking out​.

I want to believe Rei and Akai can be friends, I just trust Gosho to handle it about as much as I trust Gosho to let Ran properly process the fact that Conan/Shinichi has been lying to her all this time (which is to say not at all). I'll keep my expectations low to non-existent for now. Give us the tea party, Gosho!

They'd definitely be the sort of friends that just bicker constantly. These are the same men grinning like crazy while pointing guns in each other's faces, after all. I'm here for it.

(Let's be real, the reason they can't be proper friends is that the two of them getting along is way too powerful and Gosho doesn't know how to handle it.)

I do really want Rei and Satou to be friends, too. She matches his unhinged energy so well.

Okay but actually why is Gosho so against Rei having anyone in his life that cares about him???

His parents? Basically non-existent, given they've never been mentioned. (And I find it hard to believe they would've been that big a presence in his life anyway, given how he attached he got to Elena and the fact that, according to ZTT, she was the one to teach him to ride a bike, of all things.) Probably dead, since that seems to be the pattern.

Elena? Dead.

Akemi? Dead, and also apparently she just didn't remember him anyway.

(Atsushi? Also dead. but I don't know how close they were to begin with.)

Hiro? Dead.

Date, Matsuda, Hagi? All dead.

Like. The last living person on Elena's (side of the) family is Shiho, and she was born too late to have met Rei before her family joined the organization.

Then you have Satou, who only kinda vaguely recognizes him after they've already met a couple of times, and frankly is predisposed to dislike him given how salty she is about her time at the academy, but they have quite a bit in common and a connection through Matsuda. (and Date to an extent)

Then there's Akai, and I think if things hadn't gone down the way they did, he and Rei could've actually been friends, but Rei can't have nice things, so. That's out. (I have this possibly naive hope that it could still happen, if they manage to talk through the Scotch thing and Rei can properly grieve and come to terms with it. But I don't actually trust Gosho to do that.)

Kazami? He's probably the closest to an actual friend, but Rei doesn't really treat him as one.

Otherwise it's literally just Conan, who appears to be a small child, and is actually still only a teenager.

Satou Miwako x Takagi Wataru if you can? It's nice to see actual adults, who aren't childhood friends and do work for law enforcement officially in Detective Conan. What's more they are canonically a proper couple. Takagi's bond with Conan made me love him the most out of all the police force and Miwako's so cool.

i'm watching detco and seeing these two slowly get together is something nice. I like the dynamic these two have. I MEAN, Sato is so cool?? and Takagi's clumsier personality makes a good balance (he's always trying so hard).

oh and yes they always listen to Conan! Sato doesn't even doubt his instructions or warnings, and for Takagi... he somehow got this mini boss lol
