You don't have to fill this one but you're pretty amazing and I'm looking forward to seeing what the other prompts yield.

Hello and thank you so much for this request! I apologize that it took me so long to get to it, but I was honestly so excited when I got this one. When I read this one, it instantly came to my mind to show the early days of Sasuke's relationships with Kenshin and Yukimura (the dynamics between the suitors is honestly one of the things I love the most about ikesen besides the romance and adventure, so I had fun exploring this). So, I hope you like this one @drewadoodle-dandy!

Sparring Prompts- Dialogue 9: "I won't go easy on you." "I don't want you to."

Ikesen: Sasuke and Kenshin and Yukimura

Training Day

Sasuke stood across the training hall of Kasugayama, sword in hand. The first time he had ever held a weapon. He had expected to be given a practice sword, but no, that was not to be how his training was handled. The sword felt heavy and awkward in his hands, but he would need to learn to wield this weapon and others. It was the only way he would be able to survive. The only way he would be able to protect the strange woman who had saved him when the lightning struck and they were thrown back in time.

“You’ll get used to it.” The harsh voice of the man across from him said. “If not, you’ll certainly die.”

“A fact I am very aware of, Lord Kenshin.” Sasuke replied with a nod. It had only been three days ago that Sasuke had saved the life of Kenshin Uesugui. Only three days ago that this man who insisted on a rather rigorous training program had almost died. Yet now he stood in front of Sasuke, the picture of health and stamina.

“Are you certain you are ready for this training, Sasuke?” Kenshin asked.

Sasuke nodded. “Yes, I need to learn how to survive. I need to protect myself and those important to me.”

“I won’t go easy on you.” Kenshin informed him.

Sasuke gave Kenshin a determined look. It was clear Kenshin believed in the sink or swim philosophy when it came to training. But perhaps that is what Sasuke needed. He came from a time of peace and never needed to even know how to throw a punch. Most fighting was done over the internet and video games. “I don’t want you to.”

The next thing Sasuke knew, Kenshin was charging at him. With effort Sasuke lifted his own sword to block Kenshin’s. Sasuke had been watching others train before he and Kenshin began, so he thankfully picked up on a few defensive moves. For what felt like hours, Sasuke spent the day training with Kenshin, blocking his attacks, but never making a move to strike at Kenshin back.

“Why do you not fight back?” Kenshin asked, clearly irritated.

“I believe it would be bad form to attack my new boss.” Sasuke replied.

Kenshin’s heterochromatic eyes narrowed at him. “You are always so strange.” He murmured before lifting his sword once more.

After spending the entire day training with Kenshin, Sasuke dragged his weary body to the room he had been given. He’d always kept in shape by doing parkour, but this…this was entirely new and different. Kenshin’s level of strength and power was staggering. You’d never know how close he came to death just mere days ago.

Sasuke spent the next several weeks training closely with Kenshin. The training began taking on a new intensity every day. It would start first thing in the morning, Kenshin coming to wake Sasuke up with “surprise” attacks. The attacks increased and Sasuke was pretty much fending Kenshin off from sunup to sundown and sometimes even getting woken up in the middle of the night.

Kenshin’s surprise attacks were strengthening his skills for sure, but he was also getting worn out. Sasuke finally decided to take to hiding. Sasuke learned how to shake Kenshin when he was tailing him and could sneak in bits of respite in hiding.

“Get back here, Sasuke and face me like a man! Quit running!” Kenshin yelled after him as Sasuke used a smoke bomb to escape his most recent attack.

Sasuke soundlessly bounded down the hall and disappeared into a room, taking a breath as Kenshin ran past, angrily swatting through the smoke. “I will find you Sasuke and you’ll have to fight me like you mean it!”

“Man, you are crazy for putting up with that.” 

Sasuke looked up, realizing that he had entered Yukimura’s room rather than an empty one. “I apologize for barging into your room. I’ll leave once it’s safe.”

Yukimura waved it off. “It’s alright. You can feel free to hide out any time. I try to avoid Kenshin as much as possible, too.”

“Thanks.” Sasuke replied. 

“No problem.” Yukimura replied, giving Sasuke a smile. He was then offering Sasuke to take a seat. “Take a rest. I know training is important but so is rest…and I know Lord Kenshin hasn’t been giving you much of that.

“That’s true.” Sasuke replied, sitting on the offered cushion, but he was still on alert, listening for any sound of Kenshin. “But…the training has been paying off.”

“It definitely seems like it, but you’ve been pulling off some pretty cool moves when you’re dodging his attacks.” Yukimura replied. “I’ve never seen anything like that.”

“Oh, it’s parkour.” Sasuke replied, something he had done back in modern day.

“Par-what now?” Yukimura replied.

“Oh, it’s a sport from…my hometown.” Sasuke replied.

“Well, whatever it is, it comes in handy.” Yukimura replied. “And it’s really great.”

“Yeah, something I never realized would come in handy here.” Sasuke replied. “I never knew I’d be using parkour for my life…or that it would be so frequent.”

“So, what is your hometown like anyways?” Yukimura asked. “You….don’t seem like much of a fighter, plus I know you helped Lord Kenshin and us without knowing who we all were.”

“Yeah…it’s a rather peaceful place. Fighting isn’t something I’m used to.” Sasuke explained. “Being in the middle of a battlefield and…all of this…it wasn’t exactly what I had expected to happen. I had my theories…but well…”

“Sounds like a nice place.” Yukimura replied. “Though I find it hard to believe that there’s anywhere quite like that.”

“It’s…rather far away.” Sasuke replied. There was something about Yukimura that he liked. Something that seemed…almost like a kindred spirit in a way. Though the two men couldn’t be any more different. Before more could be said, the door was crashing down and Kenshin was barreling in the room.

“Sasuke! I knew I’d find you!” Kenshin roared, his sword overhead. “Why are you hiding?”

Sasuke quickly grabbed a kunai and was using it to block Kenshin’s blade. “A ninja’s job is to stay in the shadows and stay hidden.” He pointed out, matter-of-factly.

Kenshin glared at him, though he did offer a word of praise. “Your reflexes are improving.” He was then bringing his sword back before going for another attack.

Sasuke managed to dodge the attack. He looked to Yukimura briefly in what the other man interpreted as an apologetic manner before he was pulling out yet another smoke bomb.

Yukimura held up his hand before picking up his own weapon and interceding in the fight with Kenshin. “Alright, come on, I think you’ve given Sasuke enough. Why don’t you take on me?” He suggested.

“I couldn’t ask you to do that.” Sasuke told Yukimura.

“It’s alright. I’ve got it.” Yukimura said.

“I’ll take on the both of you!” Kenshin declared, lifting his sword once again, moving to attack both of them.

Yukimura pushed Sasuke back with one arm, while he held his sword to block Kenshin’s attack with the other. He looked over at Sasuke. “Don’t worry, I’ve got this.” He said with a confident smile.

Sasuke nodded and gave Yukimura a quick and polite bow of his head. “Thanks! You’re totally my BFF!” He declared before running out of the room and quickly making himself disappear in the castle.

Yukimura had only a moment to ponder Sasuke’s strange words as Kenshin was changing his attack. He made a mental note to ask the strange ninja later. He hoped it was something good.

Their first question to this statement would be, "what the hell is a therapist?"

After you explain what a therapist is and that you've already booked a lesson for them meaning they HAVE to go there (because they cannot say no to you). Weapons are not allowed during the session.

• Oda Forces

→ Nobunaga Oda

• oh? Interesting.

• the therapist and he will have an interesting talk to say the least.

• obviously he isn't really going to answer any of the therapist's questions. Well not a straight answer anyways

• will scowl every time the therapist manages to figure him out

• in the end he doesn't open up to the therapist and instead challenges them to a battle of Go.

→ Hideyoshi Toyotomi

• ends up helping the therapist

• that's it

• he listens to the therapist's problems and tries to help him the best he can

• somewhere during the session he will confess his undying loyalty to Nobunaga

• Therapist tries to tell him to value himself more

• the therapist almost gets punched

• how did things go there? I think you can figure it out

→ Mitsuhide Akechi

• another one who doesn't open up to the therapist

• they both actually have a.....competition? They both counter attack each other by asking questions

• this goes on for a WHILE a long long while

• of course Mitsuhide won. But he tells the therapist he enjoyed the session

• no he's not coming back again. The therapist got way too close to figuring him out.

→ Masamune Date

• ends up crying and confessing anything mid way through the session

• idk why. I see him as someone who would do that

• anyways he will also boast about his cooking, Shogetsu and MC

• will invite the therapist over to lunch

→ Ieyasu Tokugawa

• doesn't want to go.

• what do you mean he's going to help me with my past traumas? I don't want to go

• he's like a cat when you try to take them to the vet

• very grumpy and salty throughout the session. Would not give a straight answer to any of the questions

• would leave midway through the session

→ Mitsunari Ishida

• sunshine. Angel. Not even 5 minutes into the session and the therapist knows what his problem is

• he will try his best to help out this angel

→ Keiji Maeda

• no.

• refuses to go.

• doesn't want to risk getting caught. He will dissappear once again just to leave the session

→ Ranmaru Mori

• also ends up crying and confessing

• this is the only one so far with whom the session has gone smoothly

• Uesugi Takeda Forces

→ Kenshin Uesugi

• he was already upset because his weapon got confiscated.

• points a knife at the therapist when he touches a particularly delicate subject

• where did the knife come from? No idea.

• someone needs to stay in the room (MC) to calm him down

• will need many more therapy lessons but the therapist has refused to attend any more sessions with him

→ Shingen Takeda

• flirts with the Therapist

• either charms the therapist or gets kicked out

• even the therapist tells him to lower it down in the sugar intake

→ Yoshimoto Imagawa

• therapist tries his best to keep up with Yoshimoto

• but over time he gets lost

• he will also probably get kicked out

→ Kanetsugu Naoe

• another one who has a hidden knife

• actually talks pretty formally with the therapist

• the therapist already kind of shaken up by the incident with kenshin approaches the subject pretty cautiously

• surprisingly enough Kanetsugu cooperates

• does he need therapy? I personally think he doesn't

• maybe he does but not as much as the others

→ Sasuke Sarutobi

• I don't think he needs therapy

• he does but not many sessions

• very cooperative

• sits through the Sessions with others to calm them down in case they decide to attack the poor fellow doctor

• Lone Forces

→ Kicho

• doesn't want to go

• he was already traumatized enough. Why must he approach the subject again

• will be cooperative as in will not point any hidden weapons at the therapist

→ Motonari Mouri

• he just dissapears

• you won't see him at the sessions at all

• reluctantly agrees

• reluctantly cooperates

• would go in meditative state sometimes just to avoid some questions

Since Halloween is close, I was thinking how do you think the warlords would react to an MC/reader who is really into spooky stuff? Like ghosts, cryptids, legends, haunted houses, likes graveyards, likes exploring abandoned buildings, etc

Since it’s almost Halloween, this is a great idea! Thank you for the request.

MC is into spooky things.

Oda forces.

Nobunaga Oda.

He wouldn’t be scared of your stories, things that are supernatural aren’t more scary than the living, but he is curious and entertained by the tales you know. Nobunaga finds it interesting that you are so fearless over the unknown, which gives him more reason to take you to battle with him.

Sometimes he just likes listening to you ramble about legends and unsolved mysteries just because of how you tell them.

Hideyoshi Toyotomi.

He is partially concerned with your interest, believing some of your likings are too dangerous, like wanting to explore abandoned buildings. He isn’t one to believe that ghosts are actually real, but hideyoshi does feel uneasy about supernatural things.

He won’t admit it, but when you try telling scary stories, he does feel a bit scared of them.

Mitsuhide Akechi.

How brave of you, liking things like that and remaining fearless. Though, mitsuhide would love to tease you by spooking you, he also likes how engaged you are with these things. He is a mystery enjoyer, partially, himself, so he shares your excitement over them, though not in the same way.

He still tries spooking you by making up a scary story or legend, but always gets you excited about it instead. He finds it cute though.

Mitsunari Ishida.

Mitsunari takes enjoyment in solving mysteries, but mostly the more logical ones, he is still very happy to listen to you talking about the more scary and unsolved ones (though he can’t understand how someone can enjoy mysteries that haven’t been solved or are unable to be solved). He isn’t really that adventurous to explore abandoned buildings or haunted places, but he would tag along to ensure you would be safe.

Ieyasu Tokugawa.

Ieyasu doesn’t like the fact that he can be a bit scared of some things, like haunted places, but he would rather fight it than cower in fear, he believes it’s what makes him stronger. Of course, you babble about a lot of things that are unfamiliar to him, so he just lets you talk rather than pay attention.

He still tells you that it’s stupid to try and explore abandoned places by yourself, as a form of scolding, since an animal or dangerous person could be hiding there. But you always go there anyways, so he might as well tag along to keep you safe.

Masamune Date.

Masamune likes that adventurous side of yours, and how curious you can be, he gets even more excited when it involves scary things. He isn’t one to like legends that much, but he feels entertained whenever you tell him the ones you know, and scary stories that keeps people alerted. Rather than scared, he gets really excited about it.

Just for the fun of it, he would take you to haunted places that most people avoid like abandoned castles just to explore it.

Ranmaru Mori.

Ranmaru always feels scared of stuff like that, so he pouts and complains to you that you shouldn’t scare him like that with your stories and unsolved mysteries, he sometimes runs away if you chose to tease him about it.

In other situations, he might grab your arm for comfort whenever you tell spooky stories. He isn’t THAT scared, actually, but it is an opportunity to act cute to you.

Keiji.

Hah. He doesn’t get scared of your stories, and Keiji doesn’t fear abandoned places at all. But he does find entertainment when you tell spooky stories. Keiji believes that you are brave to the point of ignorance, since you have no sense of danger when exploring abandoned places or graveyards.

Uesugi-Takeda alliance.

Kenshin Uesugi.

Kenshin isn’t someone who gets scared, at least not by being spooked. He only feels fear when he feels like he might loose someone important to him. He doesn’t care much about mysteries, but will listen to you talking about it for hours on end as if he is listening to war tales.

He also doesn’t care much about exploring potential haunted houses, but the idea of being able to fight a ghost makes him excited enough to tag along.

Shingen Takeda.

Shingen enjoys seeing you getting excited about unsolved mysteries, solving cryptics and talking about scary legends. He can’t help but find it all endearing, a sweet thing like you enjoying such scary things? He is fascinated.

But he doesn’t like your habit of going to explore places that could be dangerous, as he does believe in the supernatural to some extent, he would rather you stay close to him.

Yukimura Sanada.

Yukimura does get scared, and he is terrible at hiding it, which makes it even more fun to tease him about it. The fact that you like all that creepy stuff only makes him think that you are a witch even more. He still tries to act tough so that he doesn’t let his weakness show.

He would agree to go with you explore a haunted castle, all of it to prove that he doesn’t get scared easily.

Yoshimoto Imagawa.

He isn’t a fan, mostly because he gets annoyed that scary stories do have an effect on him. He doesn’t do well with creepy things since he finds it unpleasant and that it ruins his mood. So he usually prefers to stay out when you want to tell another scary story of yours.

He doesn’t mind, however, when you talk about mysteries, mostly because it intrigues him.

Sasuke.

Being from the future, he shares your enjoyment for spooky things, Halloween and unsolved mysteries. He might be the best person to talk about those things since he will know exactly what you are talking about, and you can talk freely about stories that involve the future.

Exploring abandoned buildings is fascinating to him as well, since he enjoys learning about its history.

Kanetsugu.

Kanetsugu, scared? That is impossible. He is always cool headed, stoic and more prone to scare others with his fierce gaze than to get scared. He tends to scold you if you plan on exploring abandoned places or haunted buildings as it could be dangerous and that you shouldn’t be reckless.

He isn’t one to be affected by scary stories, nor does he take true interest in mysteries, but he does listen to you talking about them, even if he doesn’t really believe it.

Kenshin: What are you guys talking about?

Yukimura: Oh God, how do we tell you this?

Shingen: Kenshin... can't spell.

Sasuke: ...

Sasuke: What?!

Shingen: He can't spell, so when we talk about something he wants, we spell it out loud so he doesn't get too excited.

Sasuke: He's a grown man! He can't handle hearing the word FIGHT?

Kenshin: Fight?!

Shingen: No fight!

Kenshin: Battle?!

Yukimura: No battle!

Mai: (Mitsuhide!)

Upon seeing his face, my heart swelled immediately. I couldn't help the grin stretching across my face.

Mitsuhide and Sasuke: "..........."

Mai: (I can't—this is no time to laugh!)

"Um, Mitsuhide.....this person is my friend."

Mitsuhide: "His name is Sasuke, and he's from the same world as you, 500 years in the future—right?"

Mai: "Eh?"

Mitsuhide: "Sorry, but I had to eavesdrop."

He apologized without even the slightest bit of shame and sat beside me.

Mitsuhide: "If he sneaks into the castle dressed like that, he must be a member of a faction hostile to the Oda army."

Mai: (To think he can perceive all that in a split second.....)

Sasuke: "Your guess is right. I apologize for trespassing."

"Please allow me to introduce myself properly. My name is Sarutobi Sasuke."

"You must be Akechi Mitsuhide, correct?"

Mitsuhide: "Oh, you know of me, and yet you can remain calm in my presence."

Mitsuhide's eyes narrowed, the atmosphere only growing more intense.

Sasuke: "I'm well aware that I cannot make excuses in this kind of situation, but allow me to say this."

"Before my duty as a ninja, I am Mai's friend first and foremost."

Mai: (Sasuke.....)

Mitsuhide: "Of course, I had no intention of killing you out right."

Sasuke: "Huh.....?"

Mitsuhide: "The castle radiates murderous intent, and you risked your life to sneak into the enemy camp and rush to Mai's side....."

"It would be a shame to get this far and attempt to point your sword at her, you'd end up losing the affection of your hometown friend, your precious companion."

A smile suddenly appeared on his face and Mitsuhide sneaked an arm around my shoulders.

Mai: "M-Mitsuhide?"

Mitsuhide: "I must thank you, you're clearly a dear friend of her's."

Mai: (You seem to be emphasizing the word 'friend' a little too much.)

Sasuke: "To think I've been one-upped by the Akechi Mitsuhide. What a miracle. This is going on my list of 'Top Ten Miraculous Experiences I've Had in the Sengoku Period'."

Mai: (Sasuke, are you moved to tears?)

Mitsuhide: "Lord Sasuke seems like an interesting man."

After muttering with a laugh, the sharpness in Mitsuhide's eyes returned.

Mitsuhide: "Mai, I learned of your strange behavior from a message I received from Kyubei."

".....Forgive me for making you feel so lonely."

Mai: "It's not your fault! Thank you.....for coming back."

(He must have returned to Azuchi as soon as he read the letter.)

Being close together like this makes it clear to me just how anxious I felt while he was away.
