heehee--looking back over that post with the Three Beauties, I think the "Four of a Kind" team is a great idea, too. Maybe it's just because I love how Anko gets characterized in fics that are kinder to her, and maybe it's because I remember a fic where Anko got Kakashi's team because Anko was going to give a summoning demonstration at the Academy, and Team 7 assumed she was their sensei because why else would a Jonin be at the Academy? But a team of Genin with Flee On Sight orders is hilarious

Anko had so much potential as a character and was (unsurprisingly) underutilized in canon. Which is WILD considering how prevalent of an issue Orochimaru was. Like-- I’ve not actually read a fic that does this, but I’m sure they exist somewhere—the fact that Anko didn’t basically poach Sasuke from Kakashi as her apprentice is wild. They could have had the prickliest heart to hearts! They could have bonded about being betrayed by the older man in their life (ie, older brother and teacher)! They could met in the common ground of being infamous within the village that should have protected them but failed, but they will nonetheless protect that same village regardless!

Anyway, Anko as a solo character is rad as hell without needing to attach Sasuke to her arc. The fact that she became as powerful as she did even after her sensei betrayed then abandoned her, and its unlikely some other teacher wanted to take her on, so I imagine she had to essentially teach herself with the rest of the village watching her like some kind of ticking time bomb. And obviously there are some exceptions to that (ie, her friendship with Aoba and Ibiki and MAYBE Kurenai?) but not, I think, during the most critical window of time when she went from apprentice to the apparent next Hokage to abandoned student of the worst criminal Konoha has ever produced. [I kind of went into the politics of the fallout here on a wider clan scale, but not on an individual scale.]

Because the fall in prestige is one thing, but the fall in, like, career trajectory? Or, hm… because if you really think about it, with Konoha’s implied familial/teacher-to-student line of succession for Hokage, Anko is basically the equivalent of a disinherited royal. Maybe not crown princess per se, to continue the metaphor, but possibly within the top five “in line for the throne” kind of vibes.

She had the same standing and degree of distance from the position as Minato! Maybe even closer considering Jiraiya was kind of the fuck up of his generation and the Sandaime did favor Orochimaru even if the general public may have wanted Tsunade (who herself didn’t want the position)

And anyway, she is incredibly charismatic in a brash, aggressive way which I love in a character (hence the Four of a Kind team, although, to be honest, of that Four of a Kind team, Shikako is the least like the others personality wise but, in turn, the MOST Flee on Sight so…) That is why in my extremely, extremely slow WIP—Externality—that version of Tetsuki does eventually have Anko as a treasured and trusted senpai

Oh, Anko, I’m sorry you were not treated well in either Watsonian (diegetic) or Doylist (exegetic) interpretations. T_T

🌊 favorite story arc (and why)? 

I'm going to be super predictable here but the Kakashi ANBU arc. I just love seeing a deeper glimpse into Kakashi's past and his ANBU years, I love the angst and the emotional development and seeing more of his relationship and history with Yamato/Tenzo. I just think Kakashi in general is genuinely one of the most compelling characters in the series, and this arc shows off some of the most compelling, if not *the most* compelling, years of his life.

🍡 who would you want to be your jonin sensei/mentor?

I would love to be trained by Kushina, honestly. I know she was never canonically shown as an actual jonin sensei but I just love her a lot and think she would be a great teacher.

❤️ first character you fell in love with? 

Hinata! I loved her before I even started the series, honestly. She's one of those characters I was really drawn to and she resonates really strongly with me, so even though I knew her endgame from before I even started the series, I was rooting for her to get everything she ever wanted from the get-go. Seeing her happy makes me happy T_T

I think I'm going to have to go with fuck Sakura, marry Naruto, kill Sasuke? Naruto is just too precious and regardless of what Boruto may or may not have done to his character, I think he'd be a super wholesome husband. Sasuke committed war crimes and depending on what point in his character arc he's in, he'd probably entice me to kill him and "I'd love to just see you try" or whatever. I don't hate Sasuke in the slightest, but out of the options, I'd probably have to pick kill for him. Meanwhile Sakura is just adorable, I don't really have anything else to say for her here, and I have no other slot left for her anyway 😅

Boruto: Naruto Next Generation Ep 22 review

Hey there everyone! Sorry i wasn’t able to post my review earlier than expected. 

So in this episode we had the DNA test but we all know who the real mother is right?? haha unless others haven’t read the manga.

First i want to talk about this:

Forehead Poke (favorite scene)

We get to see the FLASHBACK my goodness,Sakura is so beautiful, she’s like a goddess with long hair and through all of the episode Sakura’s voice was really so motherly and very gentle, Sarada is sssooo cuteeeee like she stole my heart, we need to protect her at all cost haha, damn the Uchiha fam surely have great voice actors!! i don’t have anything else to say. 

we all know the meaning of the forehead poke right, it is the ULTIMATE EXPRESSION OF LOVE from the uchiha’s starting from Itachi, believe me i really miss itachi a lot, since he’s one of my favorite characters.

Itachi and Sasuke may not be that kind of person who shows their affection through words but it is through their actions. Sometimes we misunderstood both of their character like how Itachi tortured Sasuke in his Tsukiyomi and even beat the crap out of him. But it was for his own safety and Itachi’s own way to to make sasuke grow stronger. He even sacrificed his own family, clan even his lover Izumi for the sake of the village and peace. And this is how I see Sasuke doing his own sacrifices. 

Although I am not really glad that they added this scene. They are making Sasuke look like a heartless husband/father, they could have change this scene though like he could have said this when sarada asked him “Your mother is capable of taking care of herself, she is strong and I believe she will be fine, so you don’t have to worry” not only that but through this words he will be able to reassure sarada and at the same time comfort her as a father. 

This SCENE

I didn’t expect this, Madara, Hashirama, Tobirama, Tsunade, Kakashi wow deadly and powerful people were also in this ep for only a few seconds.

This people too, we get to see them again. While Juugo, Suigetsu and Yamato-sensei aged Orochimaru just got younger like isn’t it supposedly the opposite? Like oro’s age is suppose to be 70+ hahahahaha..him and his experiments

I don’t want talk about the DNA scene (i dont hate karin btw although i ship sasusaku i never did hate her) it’s just that the DNA scene makes me sad :(, i understand that Sarada is in an age where she is curious and the purpose of the story is that “Blood connections aren’t important, as long as their is LOVE that’s the real deal” that this message is what Kishi is trying to deliver to the readers, I just dont like the fact that Sarada is doubting her parents especially about Sakura who was there throughout her entire life, its because of some glasses. I admit, i really prefer Sarada without her glasses she looks cooler and more beautiful with long hair. But dont worry guys, I’m fine with just the way how things are flowing. :) 

My second favorite scene

Seriously, a lot of people have been saved because of this Talk no justu. Naruto is after all the Uncle of Sarada or godfather, and he cares whatever happens to his friends daughter, he was there to reassure sarada that the most important thing is not blood connection but love.

 We get to see the flashbacks from naruto the trials that he have been through, including those people he doesn’t have blood connection with. 

This is actually the scene where i started to cry, like after all he has been through he now has a family that loves him. He fulfilled his dream you know and creating a better Shinobi World together with all his friends and the people in naruto series.

Cut Scenes

It’s in the ending song but I believe that this scene will be in episode 24, it is one of the most important scenes after all,  since Honda in twitter told us that Ep 24 will be the epilogue and one of my predictions are: birth of sarada, sasusaku travel, uchiha fam moments before sasuke’s mission, sarada’s sharingan. I don’t want anyone hopes to get high but these are just my prediction, so don’t get you hopes high okay? :D

They cut this scene except for the “My wife is not weak” and i’m a little dissapointed :(

Lastly, Naruto yelling at Sasuke 

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I don’t know about you guys but i absolutely love this scene. It was Naruto bickering with sasuke again, brings back memories. 

If we think about, if this was naruto in his genin days he would beat the crap out of sasuke for knowing the “truth”, before he just acts without thinking but in this scene he is mature enough to think and believe that sasuke wont do such a “thing” (you know what i mean)  and prioritize first in saving Sakura, T_T can’t believe he is already mature and thinks and acts like an adult too.   (you know what i mean)

I am REALLY REALLY looking forward for the next episode. We all saw the preview right. More Sakura Vs Shin fight, team 7 moments, Uchiha fam moments and sarada doing some action finally, a many more. 

If anyone can tell me the soundtrack in Sakura and Sarada flashback scene i would really be happy, but i think it wasn’t released yet. I was looking for it in the youtube.

Lol it's not secret it's just on a "need to know basis". And since you're a civilian you don't need to know. Yeah I hate the heat. I want to go to the beach since it's only like 40 minutes away but it's too hot. And you need to drink at least a gallon and a half of water a day! You still play tennis but you haven't gotten any better? Lol I've been waking up at 5am to go to the gym 4 days a week. I'm sore as hell. And I hate Boruto 😂 Sasuke is ok I guess...Itachi was better 😭

yeah i have not gotten better. at all. in fact i may be getting worse. it’s very unpredictable... the ball doesn't even go above the net.. it goes way above the fence. like the whole park might as well be the tennis court for me because i hit so hard and it just goes everywhere xD

Man, I'm thinking about Sakako coming across old spirits/ghosts and going off their mission agenda to help them pass on in peace, whether it's to help them see someone they've been waiting for, or help with completing a quest/mission they couldn't do while they were alive, etc. Basically a Natsume Yuujinchou -eque thing, if you've ever seen it. (If you haven't, I highly recommend it. It's a very good series. Made me cry once or twice)

I love Natsume Yuujinchou! (I mostly read the manga, but the anime is very sweet too).

I do think she helps out when she can, but she doesn’t go out of her way necessarily to help ghosts move on. I am thinking that at least one mission does revolve around her helping some noble’s ghost ancestor move on, and that would be when the differences in civilian’s opinion of mediums and shinobi’s opinion gets discussed.

Shinobi are more afraid of mediums, I think, than civilians weirdly enough. For civilians its the equivalent of a priest/priestess having a greater connection to the spiritual world. For shinobi it’s a person who has access to abilities/knowledge that they cannot control.

So, yeah, ironically enough Sakako is more frightening to shinobi than to civilians.

I do also think as the Uchiha heiress she’s been helping the ghosts of the clan move on–and there’d be an emotionally charged arc in which, once the rest of the clan has moved on, Sakako has to say goodbye to Itachi-oji because he thinks its time for him to move on as well. Of course, there’s probably a bit where Sakako uses her ability on Sasuke so he can say goodbye to Itachi, conflicted as his feelings on that may be. T_T

I mean, it’s not unprecedented, anon. Shikako already has three ghost related missions on her record (even though one of them was more a Scooby-Doo-esque who is behind the mask caper) and she doesn’t even have the ability to see ghosts so…

I don’t know if she can see other spirits though… I mean, ghosts of dead humans are one thing, but I don’t know if Sakako’s abilities extend as far as Natusme’s…

And I also feel like ghosts are limited in their range of movement as opposed to spirits. Like… spirits are free to come and go wherever they please, pretty much, but I think ghosts probably have to stick to the specific place/person/item that they’re “haunting.”

I think a significant chunk of Uzushio’s fallen population probably piggy-back off of Kareru and benignly haunt him so they can see more of the world than just their ruined home… Probably Minato and Kushina switch between benignly haunting Naruto and their grandchildren (and probably enjoy conversations with the other ghosts from Uzushio that they come across).

… anyway… I don’t think the ghosts can specifically seek her out to help, but maybe whenever they notice she can see them they call out to her and ask if she can help them. Or maybe if she’s on a mission, they’ll help her so long as she helps them in return…

Or maybe, in Lucky Seven tradition, whenever her team goes to the admin building for a mission she always ends up with one that has a ghost involved. Yes, even the D-ranks. And she’s not even the one picking them? Literally one time Konohamaru-sensei just closed his eyes and pointed and that mission ended up with three different ghosts so…
