I like to think he was a stray platypus rescued by OWCA (because the alternative is OWCA breeds their agents which just. does not seem like something that would be happening on Phineas and Ferb. No hate to people who hc otherwise ofc!)

As I said in the tags of that post, I definitely think everyone at OWCA adored baby Perry

He mainly slept his first few weeks at OWCA because he was quite literally just a baby

Even as an infant he was EXTREMELY sassy. He also was good at punching things from the get go

He was about a year or two when he got adopted

Also he spent a few years just vibing with Phineas and Ferb before starting agent training

He was slightly more active around the Flynn Fletchers as a baby because he hadn’t fully grasped the “I’ve got to keep a secret identity thing” but also because having any young untrained animal in your house means you have to deal with Constant Zoomies

You were always a nerd, for the entirety of the time you were growing up to your newfound fame. Your favorites growing up were Soul Eater, Death Note, Phineas and Ferb and Kim Possible. Every once in a while you posted pictures of your cosplays or went on live in one. Your fans loved it, you were your most carefree in cosplay and your laughs were infectious.

You recently started to hyperfixate on Kim Possible, more accurately Shego. You already had most everything you needed for the cosplay, a long black wig, makeup, silver press-on nails and a small grey nail file. You ordered the suit and when it finally got to your apartment you were ecstatic, when you tried it on you realized that it fit slightly tighter than expected making you slightly more nervous than usual but you pushed it off and finished getting ready, adding the wig, makeup and accessories you were all done.

Clicking the Instagram live button the immediate inflow of people made your heart race but after two minutes you got used to it, as you always do.

One of my favorite things about Isabella is how much of a Chaotic Good she is. But like a chaotic good that actually does care about rules and regulations. Like it’s the way Isabella operates she’s obsessed with rules. When she’s with Phineas and Ferb she follows everything they do to a T. Because there’s a plan, there’s blueprints to follow. She pulls out her training manual all the time. She also hates short cuts of any kind and wishes to fulfill things the “proper way” she’s been taught. She’s even surprised when there isn’t anything to back up upon “No rules?? Well if those are the rules.” It’s like she HAS to have something. But oddly enough this is only a part of what makes her such a good leader. Cause she uses rules to bend things around her and to fit her agenda. I.e. using the manual to guide others through jungles, deserts and such. Her rules also act as her moral compass. She clearly believes in all good and tries to give people benefit of the doubt. Most notably Buford, even if she is super sassy with him. She always treated him with respect even before they became closer in the series. Like in the boys vs. girls episode of the F-games. She treated him fairly even though they were against each other. Because rules state you must be fair.

But you know what makes this so funny about Isabella is how she still VERY CHAOTIC. When she doesn’t have a rule or a plan to fall back on she does the most maniac thing to do in a situation. Like in Isabella and the Temple of Sap “Ohh. How are we going to get the tree from all the way up there?? Hey let’s ride down the van, that we got keys from a creepy roadside hippy guru that I spoke to, on top of a rollercoaster with no engine at full speed into the air” And when they were mid air she decides to grab the tree by JUMPING OUT OF A MOVING VAN MID FLIGHT WITH NOTHING HOLDING HER BUT SOME SASHES. And when the others ask what is she doing she’s just like “trust me I got this” like giRL NO. Or in Bee story when Adyson presents the most backwards plan ever of getting stung by radioactive bees to gain bee theme superpowers, you’d think Isabella being a rational leader would agree with Ginger who’s like “that plan sounds terrible” but NO Isabella’s like “that plan sounds GREAT let me call up Phineas and Ferb”. Why is that the first plan she goes to??? Or the most notable when in NOTLP when the pharmacists spread she doesn’t think “oh I should head back to my house or Phineas’ for safety” no instead she goes out completely unprotected and figures out where the source started and where it came from COMPLETELY ALONE. And didn’t let anyone know. Like girl ISABELLA CHILL.

So yeah in conclusion we need to acknowledge that Isabella is so well put together and a great leader but she’s also completely feral at all times SHJCKCNNC

I would like to call shenanigans about the complaints of Phineas being "out-of-character" in the specials and movies. He's a kid! And human! It makes his character more interesting and three-dimensional! He's allowed to be sad or mad when he's out of his comfort zone! I mean, everyone else is allowed to have a wide range of emotions, and it makes it all the more satisfying when he manages to pull through and go back to being his usual positive self

SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK

I’m about to get real salty for a second (not at the show tho I’m getting salty at people who get salty at the show) so here’s a cut 

Nothing annoys me more than people who think Phineas had no reason to get upset in at2d. Literally one of the last things 2D Doof said to him before Perry revealed that he was a secret agent was, and I quote, “You really think that he’s your pet, don’t you? WRONG! He’s using you! He’s just your cover!” Of course he was going to internalize that!

And that’s not just speculation, either. As soon as they get a moment to talk without the constant fear of, you know, getting arrested by an evil dictator’s robots, Phineas straight up asks him, “Was that evil guy right? Were we just a cover for you? Were you ever really our pet, or part of our family?” AND THEN HE HAS THE AUDACITY TO BREAK MY HEART BY FOLLOWING THAT UP WITH “Well, apparently not, because you didn’t trust us enough to tell us!” Like? 2D Doof’s words overshadowed the entire reveal. Of course that was going to impact how Phineas reacted to it, and it blows my mind that people think he should have just accepted it with a smile like nothing happened. 

And that’s not even getting into the fact that Perry got them into that mess in the first place. I don’t even think I can say it better than Phineas so I’m gonna use another quote from the movie because I am apparently writing an actual angry essay right now with evidence from the text movie lmao. When they’re still at DEI and Heinz clarifies that he’s an evil scientist, Phineas turns on Perry and says, “You just sat there and let us help an evil scientist open an evil portal into an evil dimension, and you did nothing to stop us?” (With, of course, the caveat that yes, Perry peed on the couch, but “That wasn’t enough!”)

~~ taking a brief break from angry ranting in the middle of the night to add that I definitely don’t think Perry was in the wrong here. I’ve just spent a lot of time thinking about at2d because a) I’ve seen it so many times and practically have it memorized (thus why I threw in all these quotes off the top of my head lol) and b) I’m writing a fic where Perry can talk (it’s Bitch Shut The Fuck Up on Wattpad and AO3 if anyone’s in the mood for sassy, swearing Perry) and I’m going to start incorporating episodes once summer starts in the fic so I lowkey spent most of my nights in bed thinking about what Perry’s going to say and how it would change things if he could explain himself and would he even try to or would he let the kids think he betrayed them if he thought it would keep them safe so anyways I have a lot of feelings but tl:dr Phineas has ever reason to be upset and I don’t blame him and neither should you ~~

And then, of course, there’s the Marvel crossover and, like, he was right? He was 100% right? Candace was too star struck to help, and it was too important for them to take any risks. And you make a really good point with your comment about being out of his comfort zone. I don’t think there’s ever a time that Phineas is more out of his league than in the Marvel crossover. He really is just a kid, and he only got roped into this because he just happened to put his space station in the wrong place at the wrong time and the Avengers made the wrong assumptions. The fate of the entire world depended on them, and when Candace repeatedly messed things up, Phineas had every right to be upset -- and the fact that he was undoubtedly really stressed out because, again, the fate of the entire world, only gives him more of a reason to snap. It’s not out of character; his character had just never dealt with anything like that before.

I mean, of course, there’s Phineas and Ferb Save Summer, which I think was a more mild example of Phineas getting angry, but it’s similar enough to the Marvel crossover that I feel like I need to bring it up, if only to point out the differences. In the Marvel crossover, the world was actively being threatened by a group of actual supervillains. In PnF Save Summer, technically LOVEMUFFIN is also threatening the safety of the world by trying to plunge it into an eternal ice age, but Phineas doesn’t know that which is half the fun of the episode. Like, they don’t know why they can’t move the planet back into place, just like LOVEMUFFIN doesn’t know why they can’t move it further away.

That’s not really the point here, though; that’s just me having unnecessary opinions on everything. I don’t really view this one as Phineas snapping, but Buford does make that joke about how it must be a special episode because Phineas is yelling at his sister again so I’m guessing there are probably people who think it’s ooc which means naturally I gotta bring it up (and, of course, I wanted to reference the meta joke because I love it). 

Phineas built those thrusters. He knows how they work better than probably anyone but Ferb. When Candace says she’s going to overwork them, of course Phineas is going to tell her not to, and he’s going to be urgent about it, but he doesn’t yell. And when Candace accidentally ruins the thrusters, Phineas doesn’t yell at her then, either; he just tells her how to fix it (and, when she’s too scared to go into the attic, his hologram is there to cheer her on). It’s just? So? Wholesome? And “wholesome” is basically Phineas’s entire character, so that fits really well.

And the only other one I can think of off the top of my head is Summer Belongs To You (and it’s entirely possible he’s supposedly “out of character’ in other specials too but it’s 11:20 at night and my brain is fried lmao). “Get on the trike!” is literally one the most iconic lines in the show. Even Dan said it’s one of his favorites because it wasn’t necessarily a funny line, it was funny because it was Phineas saying it, and the fact that so many people remembered it was that it seemed so out-of-place coming from Phineas, which meant they had developed the character well (and if anyone happens to have the video -- I think it might have been an old tiktok but there have been way too many for me to look through -- hmu bc it was such a pure moment). But tbh even though the yelling was “out of character” in the sense that it made for a good joke, I don’t think his actions were out of character at all? Phineas sets crazy goals all the time, and he always achieves them. They’d put so much work into it so far, and he wasn’t going to let it go to waste when the end game was right there. He was exhausted, presumably both physically and mentally (I mean, we didn’t see him sleep at all, you know?) and he wanted to get home and he wanted to accomplish his goal and he wanted to do it as a family (because 🎵 friends are also family 🎵) and he wasn’t going to let Candace ruin that, which I personally think is adorable because technically Candace was never even part of the bet and she didn’t have to make it home with them for them to win so Phineas easily could have ditched her and made her find her own way home but he wanted her to see it through with them and I just have a lot of feelings 😭

OKAY last paragraph because I know no one really cares and it’s getting late and I have an 8:30 class tomorrow and should probably be in bed by now. I also like the point you made about how that makes it more satisfying when he  manages to pull through and go back to being his usual positive self. I don’t know if anyone considers it out of character given that it’s really supposed to be a powerful moment purely because it’s so out of the ordinary (although I guess I could say the same for all these scenes) but god, when Phineas breaks down on the island in Summer Belongs To You, it’s such a testament to his character because he had managed to push through so much because he was determined to get home but it also proves that he does have a breaking point. I mean, we see it in all the other scenes, too, but those are directed at people. This is purely situational, which I think hits harder and it’s why that was the first one I thought of when you mentioned pushing through. All these scenes are a testament to his character, really, and basically the moral of the story is that I completely agree with you, Phineas deserves to have his character explored as much as Candace and Heinz have theirs explored, and that I clearly have way too many opinions and should really learn to tone it down fjksdhfjka

I also just like the idea of Nazz going with the one guy her age who wasn’t obsessed with her. I guess now that I think about it I like rolfnazz mostly out of spite for the other boys huh

nOTP - No strong feelings. Only times I’ve heard about Jimmy with Rolf was in a one sided Jimmy having a crush context which is fine. Don’t think Rolf would reciprocate those feelings 

random headcanon - 1. I like to think Kevin helps out Rolf with his chores when Rolf’s busy as a means to still hang out with him (and an excuse to become as strong as rolf)except Kevin is terrible at any farm work especially anything animal related. At first Rolf didn’t know how to say no but after a non specific incident Rolf said nope that’s it, never help rolf again you hear me 2. Kevin and Rolf’s friendship is very on the rocks from season 5 past big picture show, in fact Rolf and Nazz almost broke off from Kevin entirely. Rolf and Nazz also kept hanging out without Kev around the events of BPS both before and after

unpopular opinion - 1. Gets too much hate 2. Whenever I see people dump on Jimmy it’s often attributed to If It Smells Like an Ed but honestly that episode was not that big a deal. Yeah he wen’t too far that’s the point but it didn’t make me hate him or anything lol

10 Favourite Characters From (almost) 10 Different Things

Hello! I’ve been summoned again by @moonlightsvalley! :)

Now it’s time for me to ramble on about things only I care about! (Yay!!!!!)

In no particular order:

1. Pearl (Steven Universe) - Not at all surprising considering my icon. My love for Pearl was awakened by that one episode where she lamented about her lost love on a balcony in a suit while holding a rose. She’s so extra and I love her. (Also her voice is absolutely beautiful and I think that Deedee Magno Hall should voice every character in the show.)

2. Dr Doofenshmirtz (Phineas and Ferb) - I aspire to be like this man. I talked about Pearl being extra but nothing compares to Dr Doof’s use of musical numbers to describe his evil plans. Even if the audience is literally just one Platypus. I find myself kind of sad when his plans don’t work out sometimes.

3. Undyne (Undertale) - She likely has the power to kill me instantly which is both terrifying yet incredibly appealing to me for some reason (and also frustrating when you’re playing the game). She’s also a massive dork who loves anime and is terrible at cooking which makes her even better.

4. One-One (Infinity Train) - Does this technically count as two characters? I refuse to pick between them so I’m just going to count them as one. They accurately represent me as a person, just constantly switching between joyful optimism and morbid pessimism. They’re really cute and also really powerful and I want to give them a hug.

5. Donna Noble (Doctor Who) - She’s my absolute favourite companion and I am incredibly salty about her only having one series. The dynamic between her and the Tenth Doctor is something I truly miss. She’s so fun and sassy and unlike any other companion we had seen before (and thank GOD she wasn't written to be romantically involved with the Doctor, I was getting so tired of that).  Also, the window scene is an iconic piece of television history.

6. Bill Cipher (Gravity Falls) - He’s my favourite evil triangle, likely because there isn’t much competition. The fact that he has to make deals with people before causing chaos is something I really enjoy. Also, triangles are littered everywhere throughout this show which makes it really feel like he is always watching. It makes me feel creeped out whenever I come across triangle-shaped things in everyday life.

7. Captain Holt (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) - He’s basically a tired dad, trying to take care of his chaotic police children. His lack of expressiveness most of the time makes the times when he does react to things really funny. He and his husband are really sweet and I’m glad his character is completely based off of his sexuality. This is probably my favourite scene in the whole show:

8. Rosalina (Super Mario Galaxy) - Basically because she’s really pretty and floaty. That’s it.

9. Marceline (Adventure Time) - I’ve always thought she was really cool, even before watching the show. Her backstory has always been what I was most interested in when watching Adventure Time, especially when it was about her and Princess Bubblegum. Her relationship with PB is something I love dearly and the fact that they actually ended up together makes me so happy. Also, she can fly so that’s nice.

10. Peridot (Steven Universe again) -  I know I already have a Steven Universe character in this list but I can’t help but include my tiny green alien friend! Her redemption arc was one of my favourite parts of the show. She’s just such a funny and loveable character. I also enjoyed that one time she pushed Greg off a roof (sorry Greg).

And thus ends this unnecessarily long essay.

Your first console? A Sega Genesis, my Aunt bought it for my younger sister and I for Christmas when I was 12 years old.

If you could have a power, what would it be? why? I’d like the ability to Time Travel because there are so many eras I would like to visit like the Victorian or Ancient Egypt. Also as cheesy as it sounds I would really like to see what my mom and dad were like as kids.

Your favorite childhood series? TV would be Animaniacs, Books would be The Babysitters Club and Nancy Drew.

If you could be in a game, what would it be? why? World of Warcraft because there are so many neat places to visit like Nagrand (Outland and Draenor versions), Winterspring and Dragonblight to name a few. I find the world in the game beautiful and would love to really explore every inch.

If you could be a fictional character, which one would you choose? This one is actually kinda hard, hmmm maybe Fran (FF12) I love the Viera and who wouldn’t want to be Balthier’s partner, Etna (Disgaea series) I just adore this sassy, kickass demoness or Cardia (Code Realize) by the end of the game she is such a badass plus she has a harem of hotties to choose from lol. I need to stop at 3 cause this list could become a mile long if I keep going!

What is your favorite anime?cartoon? Anime is Ouran Host Club and Cartoon is Phineas and Ferb.

What kind of music do you like? I listen to a bit of everything but Christian Music, but mostly like Pop, Rock/Metal and K-pop!

What is your favorite movie? Nightmare Before Christmas or Advent Children (I watch both WAY TOO much lol)

Favorite comedian? Jeff Dunham, he is fucking hilarious.

What stereotype where you in high school? Nerd

What song has a significant memory attached to it? The Fragile by Nine Inch Nails (the whole CD really but this song especially), listening to it helped me cope with the deaths of my maternal grandmother, my favorite Uncle (my moms only brother) and one of my best friends (she commited suicide). All three happened within the span of a year.
