I don't know why, but I thought that this season only had 8 episodes. Appearently not, so here's episodes 7+8:

God Shiro seems like that tired gay uncle at christmas, who is so done with all the adults shit, but loves the kids

"Capture Voltron" plan was once again fooled, because Galra kitty man wanted to prove that he's worthy of a promotion

Keith and Lance get flashy elemental powers (maybe corresponding to their elements?), meanwhile Hunk just bodychecks the enemy

How the hell did Pidge modify her lion, aren't they supposed to be like super advanced?

God I hate Lance, please become a better character by the end of the season

Shiro's colour coded space-tech is purple, just like the Galras. Is it just because of his arm or is there more to it?

Just like with Keith, who's red. And he could also like activate the Galra tech.

I think for his first child, Donnie would reference science fiction shows or even an animated series that he favored, or he’d name them after one of his brothers/friends. The first names I came up with were Anakin or Mikey (male), and Pidge or Casey (fem/gender non conforming/nonbinary)

I could also see Don having maybe two or three children at most, he’s not super big on a large family but I don’t think he’d mind either? He’s a really good dad, but too many kids would overwhelm him ;w;

As a dad, Donnie would really really want his child to be interested in the same things that he’s into, but if his kid decides that being a super genius just isn’t for them, Don’ll definitely back off with all the science talk

Despite the purple turtles pride in being a ninja, under normal circumstances he’d never let his child in on the whole hero business. His kid, whether they’re a human or mutant, deserves to live as normally as a teenager can, and Donatello is very cautious when bringing up his duties around them

He does allow them to train with he and his brothers though. Self defense is always important, no matter who you are!

They are uncle Raph’s favorite, but shhHhh don’t tell anyone else ;> lol. Don’s kid and Raphael would just have this really special bond,, they’d get each other I feel like. Equal amounts of sass/badassery in both of them, they’re the best roasting team

Don’s kid will also know many many stories of Master Splinter, and of the dangers their uncles and father faced as teens too. Donnie tells them these stories in hopes that they’ll keep the memories alive, and that they’ll be thankful for the more peaceful life they’re leading now

Overall Donnie’s kid would be very knowledgeable, very friendly, and super in touch with their feelings

Their concepts are mature, but not in the sexy sense, in the sound and overall style. Somewhat dark and mysterious. Their sound is whimsical and a little magical but dark and at times and hard hitting with meaningful lyrics.

The group is split into three subunits. 

Umbra: Eros, Ellie, and Min. The more mature of the subunits. They have a dark, more badass concept, but done in a very stylized way. They tackle really difficult topics in their music and the sound is very unique and every evolving but it always retains something that sound like them

Prominence: Sammie, LJ, Rocket, and Pidge. They pull from the more whimsical but dark side of their music. Sometimes they go the direction of uplifting songs but often dip into the mystery as well. They have an overall dark style with their comebacks but it’s got an ethereal feel to it. Their music feels timeless.

Diamond Ring: Sky, Sam, Cura, and Berry. They have a very bright, fun sound. Their music is quick, upbeat, and catchy. Their songs often surround uplifting concepts and their stages are a lot of fun, with cute antics and quick lyrics that still dip into serious topics.

I love the team medic lance au. Now I picture lance doing the star trek thing and saying" damit shiro/allura/coran im med student in training I don't know anything about altean magic mumbo jumbo.

I am going a little out of order in this asks, just because I really want to answer this one, because...

YES! 100% YES TO THAT!!!

Lance does totally say that all the time, he does not care if anyone takes as a Star Trek reference, it freaking works!  He is 100% like “Dammit, I am technically a nurse, not a doctor!” to things in general.  

(He use to say “Dammit, Hunk, I’m a doctor, not an engineer!” all the time at the Garrison when Hunk would ask him a question about something.)

But yes, it also has extended out a bit to “Dammit [Name], I’m a medical professional, not a chemist” or “Dammit [Name], I’m a medical professional, not a alien potion master.” or “Dammit [Name], I’m a medical professional, not an Altean Expert.”  Or really whatever they are asking him to do that he just isn’t trained to to.

Also, here are some other additional headcanon's I’ve though off:

Lance totally does crude physicals on everyone.  He has asked them all many awkward questions about their bodies. Which you know...was fun. (And he unintentionally offended Allura and Coran, but like asking to take their temperature or something.)

At the space mall Earth shop, he found actual human medicine and was relieved (even it is was kind of all slightly expired).  He bought most of it, and was so happy, he totally didn’t even answer Shiro’s questions or concerns about Kaltenecker.  And he broke all of them done to figure out what was what in Altean terms, or what was the same stuff on a molecular, and Pidge and Coran helped create a system for him to use to make stuff.

Lance was the first Paladin to learn Altean.  Mostly it is just for reading and translating texts (which is a different program from the one Pidge used to speak it).  Though his pronunciation is actually not have bad, and he can string a sentence together, much to Allura and Coran’s delight.  Even if it is “Stab with sharp tube” (Basically give someone a shot of something with a needle.)

He also learns Galra medicine, but that is mostly from medics in the Blades.  So it’s not so bad.

Lance is kind of a sass master when they return to Earth.  He doesn’t let the Garrison officials side line him.  Cause he kept 5 humans (himself included) and two aliens (and probably more) alive in space while learned a whole new medical system at the same time.  All the Paladins and Coran turn to Lance when anything remotely medical came up, they don’t do anything without double checking with him.  (Sam gleefully watches from the background, cause he knows)

Lance goes after learning about Local medicine from Planets, the same way Hunk looks to Local cuisine for stuff.

It was Lance’s birthday and he was walking aimlessly around the castle. Everyone was busy, Pidge had some coding to di, Hunk had cooking to do for the upcoming meeting, Allura was planning for the said meeting, Coran was talking with the ambassadors, Shiro… well, Shiro doesn’t seem to be in the mood to talk with him anymore.

Lance played with Kaltenecker for a while before he realized that he should stop before he’s on the brink of insanity. He then stole a milkshake from the “fridge” and slurped the vanilla goodness.

Then the said milkshake brought him back to his Garrison times when he would sneak out with Hunk and a reluctant and annoyed Pidge to get some milkshakes.

Then he remembered when his older brothers, Marco and Luis, would sneak him a sip of their milkshakes even after their mother warned them that Lance was punished of all sweets after he played a prank.

He really missed his brothers and his sister, Veronica, and his mom, and his grandma. It’s hard enough celebrating your 18th birthday by yourself, imagine what his family’s feeling now that he’s gone missing.

As tears began to form, Lance passed by Kaltenecker’s place again but paused when he heard a soft roar coming from the “farm”. It wasn’t a roar, more like an incessant soft crash sound that Lance could only link it with one familiar sound.

With disbelief and hope, Lance stepped into Kaltenecker’s farm and gasped when he saw water droplets falling from clouds and onto the grass. With his mouth gaped open, Lance stepped into the room, the milkshake is forgotten as it began filling up with diluted “vanilla” shake.

Lance dropped the milkshake and closed his eyes to feel the water droplets fall on his face. It’s real. It’s all real. It isn’t a trick of his head.

Lance opened his eyes and saw a puddle of mud nearby. All his dignity and “cool ninja sharpshooter” attitude was flushed down the drain as he tore his jacket off and cheered as he threw himself into the puddle. 

Lance dug his hands into the liquid dirt and scooped up a bit of the dirt. He laughed as his hands emerged from the puddle occupied by a big lump of mud. 

“I’m glad you liked it.”

Lance looked up curiously at the new figure in front of him. He immediately recognized the voice and beamed gratefully at the poncho-wearing girl in front of him.

“You planned this, Pidge?”

Pidge shrugged and smirked, “I knew you were homesick because your birthday was coming back so I asked Coran and Allura if I could hack the fire suppression system for today. I found the soil in Olkarion and Ryner looked at me weird when I asked her if I could have some.”

Lance watched the girl in front of him with admiration. He thought that she hated him because of her behavior, but the fact that she actually knew him well enough to know that he missed the rain made him reconsider.

This beautiful, strong, genius in front of him was so much more than he had already thought of her.

He found a deep blush growing on his cheeks as he saw how the low lighting of the “farm” illuminated her features in such a way that made him look at her in a new light. 

He always knew that she was more than a pretty face, that much was obvious since the second they left earth. Maybe it’s the fact that she was able to read him so easily and do something about it, or maybe the fact that she is so much more than any other girl he has gone after, but now he’s realizing that the fluttering in his stomach isn’t because he considers her a good friend.

Maybe the fluttering means that he is realizing something new.

Maybe he’s realizing his love for the Green Paladin. His love for Katie Holt: tech expert, nerd, sass master, and beautiful coworker.

And he realized this as she smiled down at him once she congratulated, “Happy Birthday, Lance.”

I have no self control and have turned this into a series! Second on the docket is Hunk! 

PalaDens - Make Me a Home  

Lance | Pidge | Hunk | Keith | Shiro | Allura 

I did an abstraction of Hunk, breaking out his key elements and personality traits, and translated it into a house under the premise that each component of a home is associated with a certain feeling and use. 

The House is a Hawaiian Plantation style marked by familial comfort, utilitarian living, and connected yet distinct spaces. Like Hunk, the style is not known for refinery and frills but still has an aesthetic all its own. Perched near a moderate sized town but well hidden from the main thoroughfare, this house sits on a comfortable plot of land overlooking the water. 

The Main Entry opens onto the kitchen and living areas with a direct line of sight to the backyard. When a person enters this home they are immediately welcomed into the heart. This is a place of sharing, not secrets. 

The Kitchen is obviously going to be a centerpiece of the home- Hunk has a big heart after all. This space is large and inviting with plenty of room for people to work or watch. The heart of this home touches on everything and is open for all. 

The Living Space features a fireplace and plenty of seating- an oversized sofa for everyone to crowd in on, an armchair for those friends who prefer their personal space *cough* Pidge *cough* Keith, and bench seating next to the fireplace for overflow that is mostly used during larger parties. 

The Dining Area acts as an extension of the kitchen and living room. It features a backdoor view overlooking the water and a sturdy dining table. The seating in this space is flexible- rather than dining chairs, bench seating is so as to not limit the number of guests that can be squeezed in at the table. 

The Master Suite commands an entire wing of the home. Hunk is open and inviting but still values his personal space. This bedroom has it’s own access to the porch and brings in a lot of natural light. The bedroom has an oversized bed and small seating area, and tucked in by the entrance to the bathroom is a built in bookcase- our boy is a nerd after all. The ensuite has all of the basic needs (sink, shower, water closet) but it also features a generous walk-in closet and a soaker tub for maximum relaxation. 

The Laundry Room is located just outside of the master suite so that warm clothes and blankets do not have to travel far- Hunk is nothing if not practical after all… 

Two Guest Bedrooms are located in the opposite wing of the house with entrances on either side of the kitchen. Hunk loves all his friends and family and wants everyone to be together, but he knows everyone may not get along. In the show, we’ve seen him try to use sass and sarcasm in effort to get his friends to get along and that translated into this home in a tricky way- with a false sense of security. “Look how far away your rooms are from each other: one enters by the front door and the other entrance is by the garage.” All the while knowing they will have to take turns for the shower. Good joke, Hunk.. well played. 

The Garage is Hunk’s workshop and features a well-loved workbench. There’s plenty of space in the garage to pull in a car if weather demands it, but Hunk likes to spread out and roll up his sleeves when working on a project. And at any given time there are at least 3 to 4 projects in process so the space is usually occupied before a car can enter. 

The Mud Room is located by the garage house entrance and is essentially a generous sized half bath. Mostly this room is for clean up after spending hours elbow deep in a machine. But don’t be surprised when the guest staying in the room next door would rather use that toilet than share one with the other bedroom’s occupant.  

The Porch wraps around three sides of the home and overlooks the beautiful backyard views. Large glass doors on the back of the house can be opened to connect the outdoors and indoors. 

Colors in this home are warm and inviting. Yellow/gold tones are featured throughout and are balanced by cooling colors to create an environment that is subdued and inviting. 

Summary- This home speaks to Hunk’s character overall but has small touches for his friends. Hunk is a fun and self-possessed person with many interests and a mature sense of exploration. He’s strong, loyal, and cares a great deal for the people in his life, but that won’t keep him from poking fun at them from time to time. This house, like Hunk, is open and easy to navigate but is also subtly nuanced.

Pidge and Matt are sassy fighters. But their dad isn't a fighter at all??? So where do they get their fighting spirit from? I've also noticed that everyone has been characterizing their mother by staying at home being sad constantly... I dont know that doesn't feel right. The mother that raised the Holt kids, the same kids that took up arms against the Galra AND fly a giant green lion to kill evil aliens ... and she's just sitting back crying? The mother of the ultimate sass master? Really??? It doesn't feel right to me. Also... did you notice when pidge first got her bayard, she knew how to use it in basic combat? She's been trained for hand to hand. And you think her dad sent her to combat classes??? One of the over arching themes of Voltron is fighting even though your back is against the wall too. It feels counter productive to have the parent of a character do the opposite. I think that when Holt mama was demanding where he babies were from the Garrison, she got tired of their non answers. I think when Sam Holt gets back, he won't find his wife. Because she took their dog, and is kicking ass throughout the universe looking for her babies. So I got into a conversation with a bunch of other Voltron fans and we came up with pokemon for Team Voltron, Team Sincline, Zarkon, Haggar, and the original paladins. Kept it to two per person for sanity’s sake.

Lance: Primarina & Milotic (shiny)

Both feebas and popplio got kinda dumped on (feebas in-universe, popplio before their other evolutions were revealed) and the shiny milotic, I will not lie, is inspired straight from a comic that I thought did a good job of capturing Lance as a person. One of my friends aired the idea of Lance being involved in pokemon contests.

You bet your butt they’re the best-groomed pokes you have ever laid your eyes on. Knock knock the gorgeous squad has arrived.

(Honorable mention: a gyrados that Lance evolved himself, because he’s that kinda supportive person who’d stick it out with a magikarp)

Absol would probably be his signature pokemon even if it’s not his “type”- it’s a prophet able to predict danger, but also described as reclusive and misunderstood since it wants to protect people but is often blamed for misfortune- much like Keith internalizes a lot of his isolation as being his own fault.

Talonflame is light, portable, and can explore wide open places scouting around, suitable for Keith’s love of the outdoors. Also, giving Keith a part flying type reflects a bit of his relationship with Shiro, the Sky Paladin- maybe that Fletchling was a gift?

Shiro: Skarmory & Mightyena

As both the Paladin of the Sky and someone who is marked in part by his incredible determination and resilience in the face of adversity, Skarmory’s steel/flying type makes perfect sense, as well as being a real cool pokemon for a real cool guy.

Mightyena fits with his colors, but more with his ideals, as a pack hunter with a powerful sense of loyalty- Shiro is someone very conscious and empathetic to the team. And pairing Shiro with a dark type (especially one that in the gen it was introduced, was the staple of the villain teams) reflects the other side of his determination- that he isn’t afraid to act in the guise of a “bad guy” to protect said team. He also tends to try and see the good in shady-seeming allies, like his sincerity towards Rolo and Ulaz- and even a bit of his connection with Keith.

Pidge: Rotom & Phantump

Rotom is a shoe-in given Pidge’s technological focus, especially if we’re assuming they’d have a device like the Rotomdex that lets them communicate with Pidge- a level of connection with technology and pokemon alike that’s not always common or intuitive.

Phantump, out of all of the potential grass types, stuck out to me because Phantumps are the spirits of lost children- and while Pidge’s family was taken from her more than she was from them, I think it’s something she’d relate to as a lost child herself, feeling a little lonely and bereft. Phantump’s fearsome evolution also suggests towards how Pidge is growing up and turning very dangerous to cross- she’s not going to let people just walk all over her family. So- lonely child, turning fearsome guardian of the forest. “Haxus is dead and you’re next.”

(Honorable mention: Porygon because Pidge is an enthusiast of classic sixteen-bit graphics after all)

Hunk: Aggron & Bastiodon

Certain ‘dex entries describe Aggron as a creature that landscapes its territory by planting trees, suggesting a nurturing side to what is also a highly dangerous steel-coated dinosaur. 

That combined with Bastiodon being a fossil pokemon suggesting Hunk would have had to have nursed it back to life, I think both do a good job reflecting both Hunk’s formidable combat capabilities and the warm, nurturing way he relates to his allies. He’s a stone wall that you’re not going to shove around very easily. I’d imagine both of his pokemon as very gentle-tempered creatures, much like Hunk himself, but not to be crossed.

Allura: Audino & Xerneas

When Allura’s powers seem overwhelmingly geared to fortify and renew, it stands to reason she seems both divinely inspired and ludicrously powerful- hence pairing her with the life-focused legendary Xerneas.

Audino is a healer, and capable of mega-evolution- like Allura, a creature more concerned with preservation but utterly unafraid to get in there and take some names. 

Coran: Kricketune & Probopass

Mustache, he’s full of sass, his team can still kick your ass.

No, really, Probopass’s rock/steel typing is a nice nod to Coran’s resilience of spirit and his technical stripes and giving him a couple of goofy-looking yet still genuinely strong pokemon is right up Coran’s alley.

Zarkon: Hydregion & Tyranitar

Hydregion is a massive, fearsome, and highly aggressive dragon type. The shape of its wings has a passing resemblance to the wing spokes on Zarkon’s armor. It also evolves from the well-meaning-if-bitey Deino, getting increasingly dangerous through its second and then final evolution- which nicely reflects how Zarkon was a prickly elitist to start but pretty much got worse and worse. 

It and Tyranitar are both pseudo-legendaries and Tyranitar can mega-evolve, reflecting nicely that Zarkon is both a very scary person to cross and that he’s probably not really the type for a lot of real dedicated pokemon strategy as much as brutalizing would-be enemies with devastating force.

Haggar: Nihilego & Darkrai

Yveltal is not necessarily part of her actual fighting team, but she totally uses it as part of the Komar- which would possibly imply in this AU, Yveltal is rescued and taken into custody by the Blade of Marmora.

As far as the two she does use- while Haggar’s perfectly capable of leveling people in direct combat, she much prefers to fight like a living nightmare. Nihilego being able to control others, as well as its extradimensional nature as an Ultra Beast nicely reflect Haggar’s history as a scientist who researched other realities and was fascinated by the rift creature- heck, in this AU Nihilego may be one of the rift creatures that stuck around.

And Darkrai is a literal master of nightmares. Haggar’s propensity to root around in and manipulate others by using fear and deception is nicely represented here.

Lotor: Sylveon (shiny) & Silvally

Lotor’s keen sense of what it means to inspire true loyalty means he’d pick his team out of creatures he’d have a very intimate bond with- so he has two pokemon that only evolve with high friendship. That Silvally’s type-switching ability is massively effective with the sort of study-opponent-and-then-hit-them-precisely-where-it-hurts strategy Lotor uses would probably just be icing on the cake.

And, yeah, Silvally (or rather, Type:Null) totally exists in the first place in this AU because thanks, Haggar.

Sylveon being a pure fairy type, would have obvious type advantages to both Zarkon’s hydregion and Haggar’s darkrai- but also, as an empathetic pokemon highly loyal to its trainer, I imagine it’s done a lot to help him keep his head together. And its not-so-kindly Sun and Moon pokedex entries would mean that, as a clever and deceptive predator, it could more than pull its weight as his ally.

Narti: Liepard & Hypno

Narti’s manipulation appears to read much more like sleepwalking than nightmares- the host’s amnesia and trancelike calm, for example, so using a Hypno as her pokemon works just fine.

You might wonder how exactly Kova feels about the liepard, to which, I reply: Kova is the Liepard. In this AU, Narti’s connection with Kova would probably extend to her entire team, allowing her to direct and coordinate with her pokemon instantaneously.

Ezor: Kecleon & Salazzle

Kecleon being able to pull a disappearing act itself means that she could carry at least half of her team covertly with her while sneaking around, and Salazzle, being a poison type, also lends well to Ezor’s inclinations as an assassin-like ambush fighter.

Also, with Ezor being pretty reptilian herself, I can see her favoring similar pokemon.

Zethrid: Incineroar & Pangoro

This started purely because I saw multiple people say that Keith should have a Litten because fiery darkness cat, in complete ignorance of the fact that Litten grows up to be a wrestler tiger, which is the exact opposite of a thing Keith would be cool with. Zethrid, though.

She probably trains her pokemon by personally sparring against them.

Acxa: Gallade & Houndoom

Acxa’s knightly sense of honor and her fierce loyalty reflect well in both Gallade and Houndoom, given the latter’s a pack hunter. Also given her various meaningful clashes with Keith, her Houndoom could probably meet his Absol blow for blow.

Both her pokemon, like Acxa herself, are light on their feet and agile attackers. 

Alfor: Solgaleo & Pyroar

You were probably expecting to see Solgaleo a lot higher on this list, but I wanted to give Allura and Haggar opposing legendaries and someone rightfully pointed out Lunaala doesn’t deserve that.

Also, as the original paladin of the Red Lion, and the original architect of Voltron, he’s the Fiery Lions guy.

Blaytz: Garchomp & Mantine

I won’t lie to you this is 99% because Blaytz is a shark-manta man, but, he’d be pretty limited to water types since he appears to hail from an oceanic planet himself. 

I imagine him cruising around on Mantine’s back in more peaceful times.

Trigel: Tsarina & Cradily

Unlike Hunk, I imagine Trigel having a fossil pokemon because she was actually alive at the same time they were.

Tsarina is mostly there because as little as we saw of Trigel, it definitely seems like she had an edge to her and could veer harsh with her joking around.

Gyrgan: Chesnaught & Camerupt

Big, powerful tanks- a fighting type considering Gyrgan was seemingly an unarmed brawler when we see him and the other original paladins rescuing Alfor, and Camerupt because of the very camel-like beasts of burden we see in our brief glimpse of Rygnirath.
