oughhhh this fic is hurt me in such way that i want to exxplode, this one is such a harrowing read to be had knowing the context of what happened to Donnie as a character and seeing what is happening in this one is sooo sad.

i think this fic really excels in characterization, the way it write the character is very intriguing, i love it so much. The way Donnie interact with Kraang is creepy and concerning, Donnie mental gymnastic here is also intresting read.

If im being honest i dont think i could really articulate whatever the hell this fic had made me felt, like mayeb its i dont know, soo harrowing to see donnie in some way mirror his own abuser and it just feel so sad man. theser turtle amke me so emotional

writing style is fun to read and as always character writing is excellent. I think this one is intresting in how donnie and kraang relationship has developed, laying out a conflicting view i think for the both of them and how they viewed each other. And i really love their dynamic here

Sure you have utterly ceased to exist and left behind a hollow flesh shell to be used as a sex toy by devils and visitors - but your companions are still around and presumably will be off to carry on the plot without you. Like... how is everybody dealing with the aftermath of your incredibly stupid death? You've embarrassed your friends who probably won't look each other in the eye for a brief time after this, and you've probably traumatised at least one or two of them. I picture Hope attempting a very erratic consolation that doesn't help while panicking about the likelihood of the rest of her rescuers dying.

Now on with the ask!

I imagine Orion as that one cousin nobody likes. He prides himself on being a powerful son of Poseidon and doesn't know his place. That will become his downfall.

Poseidon doesn't think Orion's arrogance a big deal, so he makes the younger Olympians get along withhis son. For some reason, Orion seemed to be infatuated with Artemis.

Artemis isn't naive of Orion's nature, she knows about Orion's attack on the daughter of his previous host (King Oinopion and his daughter Merope).

Because of this, Artemis immediately puts Orion on the blacklist and keeps him the hell away from her female companions.

We all know how Apollo is protective of his twin. Mess with Artemis and you will be greeted with an arrow in the ass. So when Orion came along, all the red flags were set up in his brain.

Persephone and Athena are highly alerted of Orion too, maybe even more protective than Apollo because they were both previously victim and almost victim of assault. No way in hell they will let their sister get in danger.

So when Orion tails behind Artemis during her hunts, either Apollo, Persephone, or Athena immediately follows along. They never let these two alone together.

When Orion almost attacked Opis, one of the virgin huntress, Artemis fatally shot him as retribution, but didn't outright kill him because of pressure from Poseidon.

After setting a the divine relevant of a restriction order on Orion, Artemis left him with a warning, "I've killed a giant before for kidnapping my mother. Don't think I will let you crawl away alive if you pull that shit again with my friends."

Ares pats Artemis on the back and says he would have killed Orion right away if he were Artemis.

Orion was mad and humiliated from Artemis' punishment, which is why he swore to become the greatest hunter ever seen and to outrank Artemis as revenge.

Orion wasn't killed by Artemis or Apollo eventually. It was Gaia who sent a scorpion to sting him after he proclaimed to kill all living animals on Earth.

When Orion died, the siblings (mostly Apollo and Persephone) suggested an eternal punishment for him. They turned him into a constellation and created the Scorpio constellation to forever chase him across the sky.

To this day, the siblings will spend time laying in an open field together and watch the chase of Orion and the scorpion.

ahaha ah yes, Jasper the character!

my plans for him currently involve;

dealing with his soul imbalance

a family curse by way of his father and

a really grumpy mercenary with a heart of gold called Fletcher Spence

but also yes originally he was *checks notes* meant for a beauty and the beast retelling??

which may have been part of the original plot for soul of the party, but like that didn't last long. I think it was supposed to be a red herring thing alongside the soul mage theft ring, possibly laid in by them still doing the same fucky control spell that results in Jasper being thrown out of the tourny. Or possibly just because he was a feral mage with no teaching and no one there who knew what was going on

He was definitely a guy before being joined by Llinos and Kaua! He came first! I don't know that he had much to him before them, but he was always definitely going to be a sotp side character and definitely the first few scenes I wrote were Selene being "whomst in the Fuck is that feral mage I Need to know" and might have involved her and him being at crossed impulses as she broke into his house/he grudgingly defended her/annoyances to lovers whaaaat (this is. not so much a thing these days)

(technically his mother came first but like. we don't admit about where she came from <3)

the soul imbalance

this is Jasper bonding wayy too quickly with his familiar and not getting the balance of them right, so like. there's more Cat than he should be, so we get the more catlike characteristics (this man purrs, expressive ears) and also. just occasionally. lashes out in anger, which he's not a big fan of because he's always been so chilll and level headed. but that's what you get for leaping into things!! (if it hadn't been a... high intensity situation he would have been fine. Also Llinos was bad about explaining things)

It's not really something he can fix, but he can definitely manage it better. unless, of course, it interacts with

the family curse

which, had Drassa known about, she might not have slept with the man! but alas,

no one's even aware of the family curse until they go back to the feral world and do some Investigating and find Various Things that I have not fully thought out yet but it will parallel Llinos' family nonsense for sure

anyway someone was super pissed off at his family back in the day and decided to make that everyone's problem and now they're like a little more prone to becoming demonsouled so actually Jasper got off pretty lightly! they do meet his dad. it is not pretty.

the curse nominally gets broken but Jasper still has to deal with the whole "occasionally he has cat impulses and access to fire" thing flaring up

Fletcher Spence

a mercenary sent after Drassa whomst, upon meeting Jasper & co, promptly goes "I'm not paid enough for this shit" and joins them because that's better than the alternative of uh. wrecking Drassa's whole life for petty she-was-a-better-thief-than-me-back-in-the-day reasons. and they just stick around and it takes forever for anyone to realise that Jasper and Spence are dating. direct opposite of Llinos and Kaua <3
