Use of Brooches:
Brooches, once a mainstay of every woman’s wardrobe, now come and go for many in the same manner as other jewelry trends. It is, however, easy to make a positive case for this sophisticated piece of jewelry. It is, after all, more versatile than any other jewelry item. Brooches can be used the standard way: as an accessory to fashion. But that is by no means their only use. They can also be used on clothing accessories as well as in the hair.
Purchase one or more brooches, if they are not readily on hand.
Use the brooch on clothing. Attach a brooch to the high neckline of a blouse, dress or jacket. Use one or more brooches (in a cluster) on the lapel of a suit jacket or place one or more on the shoulder of a jacket or dress. Pin several small brooches over the buttons of a blouse or dress to liven up the clothing or show off a collection. Try using smaller pins as a substitute for cuff links on a blouse by just pinning the brooch over the cuff's button.
Hook a brooch through a “magna pin.” This converts the brooch to a magnetic closure, thereby doing away with the need to stick the pin part of the brooch into fabrics that could otherwise be damaged by the process. This makes it simple to use the brooch on heavy fabrics like boiled wool, suede or leather.
Utilize the brooch to help securely attach an accessory to clothing such as a scarf, a shawl or a shrug.
Attach a brooch to a hat to feminize it or give it a touch of pizzazz.
Pin one or more brooches onto a handbag or clutch to convert a daytime look to evening chic.
Use a magna pin for heavier fabrics, suedes and leathers.
Convert a brooch to a pendant by attaching it directly to a thick necklace chain, omega or collar. Hook a pin over a string of beads or double them up, pulling them together around the neck. Close with a brooch to create a unique choker.
Use a pin converter to turn a brooch into a standard necklace pendant.
Turn a brooch into a piece of hair jewelry. Attach a pin to a headband. Using wire or thread, attach a brooch to a hair comb or barrette. Run the pin of a brooch through the elastic of a ponytail holder for a top knot accent piece. Attach a brooch directly to the hair (or a wig).
Good use on Indian Sarees, suits, dresses and dupattas etc.
Used to tie and decorate wedding/parties chair clothes on the back of chairs.
Excellent to decorate Christmas presents and gifts.
It can either be used on the top of invitation cards/letters for wedding parties, birthday parties, evening parties or casual invitations. This will certainly give a posh look to your invitations.
It can be used for the decoration of Wedding, Birthday and Anniversary Cakes.
If you know any other use of brooches please let us know and we will share these ideas with our privileged customers. Thank you in advance.

Dreams of yesterday night
Okay, so yesterday night, all of a sudden, I got a fever and a cold. Because of fever, I started imagining a lot of weird things-
At first, I tried to draw Kai’s picture with a finger on the bed when I was burning.
Then, I dreamed that Simy drew a picture of Tyson and Hilary hanging from a tree (Hilary was blushing there), posted it on Tumblr with a lot of cute captions.
Then, I remembered the request of a reader who requested me to write an Indian-style wedding for KaiHil. Shortly after that, I saw Kai dressed in a violet sherwani with a black sleeveless velvet coat with gold-rimmed buttons. The white scarf was wrapped around his shoulder like a shawl (There was a black turban on his head too maybe, studded with an amethyst). Holding his Dranzer Beyblade like a sword, he was standing behind Hilary. The brunette was sitting on the velvet sofa, clad in sky-blue Georgette lehenga, unbound hair decorated with pearls and a golden veil attached to her hair. She was wearing gold and pearl traditional Indian ornaments and looking at Kai who was also staring at her (Just like a wedding photoshoot).
Then, in the same ceremony, I saw Julia wearing a bright yellow Lehenga with braided hair and gold-plated jewelries (She was pregnant). Her hands were carrying something and she was not so pleased with it, cursing her husband. When the wolf-prince came there, Julia huffed, “Man, take it from my hands! I cannot bear it anymore!”
[Tala, dressed in a orange-navy blue kurta set, slyly smirked, lifted her in front of all the guests, much to her annoyance and embarrassment as she turned red and left the place.]
Then, Max and Mariam were crazily dancing with Indian wedding songs, with those jerky steps of waists (I know, they are called Thumka xD), dressed in bottlegreen kurta and orange-red lehenga respectively.
Dew-chan’s sea-green georgette dupatta of her dark-blue lehenga got stuck with one of the buttons of the sleeveless red coat of Tyson which he was wearing over his yellow Kurta. (Aha, that was a moment).
At last not at least, Ray was dressed in a black Kurta, supervising something. When he turned his neck and saw the precious, sizzling redhead, wearing a black georgette Saree with sleeveless blouse, unbound hair fluttering, forehead with a black bindi, oxidised earrings from ears and black glass bangles occupying her fair hands, violins started playing around him. Just like Shahrukh Khan, he spread his arms and knelt down on the floor. Salima’s saree’s fringe caressed his face-
No wait, he was only imagining those stuffs. However, when he discovered Mariah dressed in a magenta lehenga glaring at him, clearing her throat, with a sigh which told “Maybe-you-will-never-be-mine”, he backed to the reality.

5 DUPATTA COLOURS THAT LOOK GORGEOUS ON INDIAN SKIN TONE
Beauty is diversity–isn’t it what India is about? From languages, cuisines, and dresses, to culture, everything makes our country stand out. Having said that, there is one more factor that adds up to the beauty of our motherland: colour.
Indian skin colour ranges from various tones and complexions. Some darker, some lighter, but all gorgeous. As wonderful as it is to have such a wide range of tones around, people often face a dilemma when it comes to making sartorial choices. While some might prefer to dress up in pastel shades, some go for bright colours, while many prefer to keep them subtle and understated with greys, and whites.
Well, what if we told you that there are few such colours that elevate your look irrespective of your skin tone.
Let’s start with picking up dupattas for your next look!
Maroon
Tumblr media
PURE KATAN SILK MAROON JANGLA BANARASI DUPATTA
The new favourite in town is a Banarasi maroon dupatta. Countless women of tones ranging from wheatish, toffee, dark brown, exotic, and light-neutral to fair, love to drape themselves with a maroon dupatta. Time and again celebrities and fashion influencers have favoured maroon dupattas. And we know the colour is here to stay. The colour caters to airport looks, wedding ensembles, and simple outings too.
P.S: A maroon dupatta will always add a certain richness and elegance to your style.
Orange
Tumblr media
PURE KATAN SILK ORANGE JANGLA BANARASI DUPATTA
Long gone are the days when orange was considered glaring. Now designers, stylists, and fashionistas are all changing the narrative and working to normalise donning bright colours. And one such example is Kesariya. No matter how toned down your rest of the ensemble is, an orange dupatta will perfectly balance the tonality of your entire look.
Pair it with a light-shaded palazzo set, wrap it over an anarkali, or drape it for your half-saree attire; orange will add perfect glam.
P.S: Complete your orange dupatta look with heavy oxidised jewellery to win the day.
Powder Pink
Who doesn’t love a powder pink dupatta? The colour works a charm for each and every skin tone. Trust us when we say, there’s nothing more subtle, and sophisticated than powder pink attire. Anyone who has watched Shershaah would instantly get a flash of Kiara Advani carrying a powder pink dupatta and a gorgeous smile. Speaking of the material you can choose anything and everything from a Benarasi thread work, an embellished one, or an embroidered dupatta.
P.S:  Don’t forget to pair your powder pink dupatta with a gorgeous set of ‘chand baliyaan’.
Sky Blue
Tumblr media
PURE KATAN SILK BLUE RANI EKTARA BANARASI DUPATTA
A sky-blue dupatta can be a timeless possession. It will never go out of style. We’ve all grown up watching women around draping a sky blue dupatta, and now we too prefer the colour irrespective of our skin tone. This is yet again a colour that is versatile to own. Having said that, it depends on the material. If you buy a Banarasi silk sky blue dupatta, it’ll give you a regal look; if you opt for a chiffon one, it’ll make you look chic; if you go for printed cotton fabric, it’ll cater a classy touch. At the end of the day, a sky-blue dupatta will be a great addition to your wardrobe.
P.S:  Keep it simple, and let the dupatta do the talking!
White
You can never go wrong with white, and picking up an entirely white ensemble will just make you look dreamier. Remember Madhuri Dixit from Dil Toh Pagal Hain, Sridevi from Chandni, or Deepika Padukone from Bajirao Mastani; the divas of tinsel town looked ethereal onscreen.
Additionally, the colour screams versatility. You can pair it up with any colour or shade and your white dupatta will do justice to your look. Not only does it suit any palette, but also works for any occasion or place. Be it work, weddings, parties, or festivities, you can always trust white with it.
Pick up the material as per your comfort and requirement, and you’re good to go!
P.S: A silk white dupatta will go a long way!
Dupattas are a very essential part of your wardrobe. And we at HKV Benaras bring the best Banarasi Dupattas to make your outfits gorgeous.

All you Need to Know About Kota Doria Sarees - Padmashali
Doria is stand for "Thread or String" and Kota Doria is one of India's incredible open weaving textile material.
Introduction:-
Kota Doria ( Kota-Dori ) is one-of-a-kind cotton and silk mix with a square check pattern. The silk material adds shine and beauty to the cloth, while the cotton adds durability. Kaithoon is a tiny village in Rajasthan's Kota district where Kota Doria is mostly weaved. Some Kota Doria clusters may also be found in the villages of Bundi, Baran, and Kota, although Kaithoon is the main hub of kota doria's production.
Origin of Kota Doria Sarees:-
As according to the stories, Kota Doria originated in the southern state of Mysore but eventually relocated to Rajasthan. A Mughal emperor and his son Ram Rao Singh managed to help the craftsmen to relocate from Mysore in the 17th century. As a result, the weavers became recognized as Masuria, and the kota Doria sarees were also known as Kota Masuria sarees. Kota Doria was formerly reserved for royalty, but as time passed, the usage of cloth grew more popular among the general public. Originally, only sarees were made by Kota Doria fabric, but today a variety of dupattas, salwar kameez, kurtas, and lehengas are available.
Why Kota Doria is So Famous:-
Doria signifies "thread or string" therefore the cloth is woven using cotton and silk strands. This could also be produced entirely of cotton, however, Kota Doria cotton silk is one of the most widely popular variety.
In average, each square of a checkered cloth includes 14 yarns, which were 8 of cotton and 6 of silk, which allows for the strength of the cotton as well as the sheen and modest sheerness of the silk.
The delicate zari borders knitted into the whole cloth give that additional touch, creating it utterly attractive and stunning. In addition, block-printing, another Rajasthan-native textile skill, has recently been combined with Kota Doria, trying to make it even more distinctive.
Square patterned Kota Doria salwar suits, Sarees, and dupattas are popular ethnic wear trends that are popular amongst ladies all throughout the country.

One of the finest things about the printed lehengas is that they do not encumber their wearer. Instead, you can select amongst the wide range of timeless hand-blocked florals to adorn the digital prints. Printed lehengas have received approval from the top Bollywood celebrities. Like Katrina Kaif wore a sky-blue gossamer skirt embellished with a large floral design for a beautiful look.
Red Printed lehengas
Red is that colour which is the first choice for every Indian bride; topmost designers are designing lehengas that will look gorgeous with matching accessories with it. Grey is the new bridal colour.
Pink bridal lehengas, red bridal lehengas, maroon lehengas are considered traditional colours for the wedding. Still, the grey colour is also winning hearts by giving superb elegant looks to the brides. For the grooms also it becomes very easier to coordinate with this colour. Bollywood divas like Meera Rajput embellished ravishing pastel colour lehengas on their wedding day to show gratefulness. Raksha Bandhan Outfit Ideas | Ethnic Rakhi Outfit Ideas 2020
Tumblr media
Raksha Bandhan Outfit Ideas - We are privileged to be living in a country where festivities are a part of our lifestyle. Maybe it is because of the fact that each month marks the celebration of a new festival or that we Indians, lively as we are, love to celebrate every moment of our lives. Well, I know most of us are not huge fans of family gatherings, but all of that is overpowered by the presence and sweetness of deserts, gifts to look forward to, and all the happiness in the air. Am I missing something? Ladies? Yes, don’t we all love to dress up? Scouring the internet for outfit ideas, ordering them well before time, and pairing them up with different accessories is what we all enjoy to the fullest. But fun as it is, it can get very frustrating and confusing when you can’t seem to get it right. Afterall choosing from all those pretty shades and fabrics and patterns is no easy task. Now, as Raksha Bandhan is just around the corner, and the house will be buzzing with guests, you sure would like to look ravishing, right? How can we forget that #RakhiOOTD picture we have to post on Instagram afterward? So here am I, my friend, with a bunch of stunning ideas, that can help you assemble that perfect rakhi outfit for the diva in you! 1) Anarkali is Always A Star
Tumblr media
Image: Amazon Anarkali, ladies, never, I repeat NEVER, goes out of style. What I have chosen here is a beautiful sunny yellow Anarkali in its full flared glory. The very first thing that catches your eye is the mirrored detailing on the whole front. The buttons to the one side add to its elegance. The pleats running gracefully all the way down the attire will give you a royal look. It will fit you perfectly thus adding to your comfort not to forget the festive vibe an Anarkali brings out as Raksha Bandhan outfit. The sleeves are 3/4th and are cut in a partial cold-shouldered style. The material is rayon and its length is 55 inches.  It looks like a perfect combination of ethnic Indian wear with a touch of modern-ness for the Queen in you. Accessories/ What to pair it with
Tumblr media
Image: Amazon With this kind of neck cut, you could keep the neck bare to accentuate it. Or go for a neck-hugging choker. For earrings, I suggest these silver balis with little jhumkis and blue beads dangling from it. They will go amazingly with the outfit. These earrings have a little rust silver touch, which adds to its charm, making them look old and king-style. These balis are just the kind of traditional earrings we all want in our wardrobe. If you’re more of a minimalist, then a wristwatch could be well paired with it. Either a silver watch or the ones you find on chumbak.com, with a multi-colored band. If you want to go full-blown Indian, you could pair it with subtle silver bangles to retain the elegance. For footwear, You can wear the Anarkali with bellies if you’re not a fan of high-heels. Even peep-toes would do. But if 6-inch heels match your style better, you could go for Nude stilettos or Pumps. 2) A Saree For The Win
Tumblr media
Image: Amazon A saree, hands down, is everyone’s favorite. How can we forget Sushmita sen’s iconic sarees from ‘Mai hoon na’. It is an adequate example of tradition and western-style coming together. The blue blouse has golden embroidery over it. It is unstitched, so you could go with classic boat-neck, or even off-shouldered one, to increase the style quotient. The little golden peacocks patterned embroidery fits perfectly with royal-blue blouse. The saree fabric is a subtle orangish-yellow. With embroidery running throughout the whole fabric, which is gracious golden with a blue peacock in the middle to match the color of the blouse. The length of saree material is 5.3 meters and the blouse is 0.75 meters. The benefit of the saree is that you can style it in different ways. Either choose the good old Indian way or the Bengali style. You could even adorn it like a lehenga. Either way, it’ll look stunning as no one pulls off a saree as an Indian woman does and is one of the best choices for this Raksha Bandhan outfit. Accessories/What To Pair It With
Tumblr media
Image: Amazon Pair your saree with beautiful gold dangler earrings. They care carefully and beautifully studded with beads. Not too flashy and matching perfectly with the outfit we’ve chosen. They have a metal base, come with eye-catching gold-colored finishing with a screw at the back to keep them from falling while you dance your heart out. To complete the outfit, choose a broad golden bangle, either with pearls or beads in one arm. You might be draping your saree over the other, still, you could wear a wristwatch on that arm. Footwear most suited for a saree would be golden strappy heels. Together the outfit will look sheer elegance, sure to get you some compliments on the occasion of rakhi. 3) A Tunic, Because Why Not
Tumblr media
Image: Amazon Tunics are the other name of comfort. The one we have here is a dark pink high-low tunic with golden embroidery and button details near the neck. The tunic is half sleeved. The neck is a conventional u-cut. Both colors pink and golden form a perfectly feminine and festive Rakhi outfit. Accessories/What To Pair it with
Tumblr media
Image: Amazon For earrings, you can go with these metal dangling ones with gold finishing. To start with they have golden or pearl bases and then we have leaf or chains hanging from them. They will team up well with your tunic that has golden embroidery. These are rated 4+ stars on Amazon. You can wear your tunic with flared Palazzo of white color, or even a long skirt will look great with it. To add a little western touch, you can even pair it with slashed-knee blue jeans.  Fold the hem of the jeans and you’ll rock the look. Don’t forget a shiny golden clutch. Lastly, you can wear kolhapuri or embroidered Punjabi footwear, or stilettos (if you prefer heels) to complete your rakhi OOTD. 4) The Kurta Palazzo Set, To Set The Day Right
Tumblr media
Image: Amazon The kurta-palazzo ensemble is considered a classic festival nowadays. So I have picked out this light pink overall kurta palazzo set. It has a slightly square-cut neck, 3/4th sleeves, and silver petals patterned embroidery over both the Kurti and the palazzo. Kurti has two cuts on both sides towards the end of it. The palazzo is wide-legged and flared, giving a skirt-like look, It has silver piping at the hem. The sleeves of Kurti, the hem and hem of the palazzo have red outlining material on them. The palazzo comes in two more color variants on Amazon which are sky-blue and mustard yellow. Accessories/What To Pair It With
Tumblr media
Image: Amazon These silver chandbali earrings with small jhumkis dangling from them go stunningly with your light pink attire as your raksha bandhan outfit. The oxidized silver gives it an old antique look. They come with an afghan hook to secure them in place. Apart from being trendy, they are effortlessly air-light, so that you don’t feel burdened wearing them for a whole day. I’d suggest silver Punjabi footwear with it or a plain silver ballerina. Along with a silver clutch and sleek bracelet for one arm. 5) Indian Suit - Back To The Basics
Tumblr media
Image: Amazon The best thing about an Indian suit is its versatility, you can be rest assured to get a bunch of compliments while adorning an Indian suit as your Raksha Bandhan outfit. This blue Indian suit comes with white floral embroidery both on its front and back. With a mandarin collar to direct attention to your long neck. It has checked detailing at the borders. The sleeve length is 3/4th. Talking about the dupatta, it comes bearing smaller floral embroidery, along with checked detailing on a part of it too. It comes with pants, slightly loose, as a lower, with a checked design.  The lower ends a little above the ankles. Accessories/What To Pair It With
Tumblr media
Image: Amazon You can rock your traditional Indian Suit with these hanging ear-piece. They have silver finishing, with crystals at the base and a gracious pearl dangling at their end. The silver of these will complement the blue, making it more festive than ever. The earrings have screwing mechanism to prevent them from falling. Lock the whole outfit with heels with a half-transparent body, or you could could with white/silver block strappy heels. Carry a white purse and a brown classic wristwatch for a spot on stylish look! 6) Flared kurta - Combining Trendy and Graceful
Tumblr media
Image: Amazon Kurtas are an embodiment of tradition. So for the Raksha Bandhan outfit, this red kurta with golden mandala print design is just on point. It has got a  mandarin collar, buttoned front, and the ever-elegant Anarkali flare. Both the arms’ hem and the kurta’s hem has got golden piping details. The dress material is rayon and is till the calves. It is available in four more colors on amazon which are brown, sky blue, maroon, and grey if you’d like some other color. Accessories/What To Pair it With
Tumblr media
Image: Amazon These chand Bali earrings with  22k gold plating and small Zaveri pearl hangings is the best partner for your Kurti. The Bali itself is round, bordered with stunning Zaveri pearls. Hanging from each Bali is a small jhumki with Zaveri pearls at its bottom, adding sheen to the whole outfit. Chand Balis like these are a huge favorite among celebs. All the more reason for you to get your hands on them. For footwear to go with the outfit, you could choose light-brown or nude stilettos or kolhapuri footwear. A wristwatch and a bindi to complete the whole look. Recommended articles: 10 Best Gold Plated Chains For Women In India10 Different Types Of Handbags For Women Read the full article

Makar Sankranti also known as Uttarayan has a religious importance in India especially in Gujarat which marks the transition of the sun into the zodiacal sign of Capricorn (Makara) on its celestial path. It is the first change in the zodiac after the winter solstice. Uttarayan is a seasonal religious celebration performed by most of the states of the country. This festival is a solar event, making it one of the few Hindu festivals which fall on the same date in local calendars every year on 14 January. Sometimes it is celebrated on 15 January also.
In different regions of India, it is celebrated by different names like Makar Sankranti, Thai Pongal, Uttarayan, Maghi, Bhogli Bihu, Shishur Saenkraat, Khichdi, Makara Sankramana, etc. The method of celebrating this festival also varies from region to region.
It is not the festival for kites only. It is the festival of food, fashion and shopping. People are so choosy that they specially shop clothes and accessories for Uttarayan-2017. With the discussion about kites, ‘who is wearing what’ is mandatory for young generation and kite enthusiastic people. It is a big big question for fashionistas, isn’t it? We can’t wear a Designer saree or enchanting lehenga for Kite festival. We need something very comfortable and sassy that can add fun as well as fashion.

Kurti never goes wrong for any occasion. Be it an engagement, office meeting, get-together or festival, it always stuns the look of the lady. We have some easy-to-style looks for Uttarayan-2017. It will be a surprise to find such pretty designer kurtis at such low prices. The designs are superb and the quality is guaranteed. Scroll down and start shopping right away.
Key-note: Just click on the image to buy.
While the sky is full of colourful kites, it’s an opportunity for us to splash some colours on our emblem. Why not give a try to colours that give quirky effects? Click on the below image. The perfect design matching with your kites. Pair it with white legging or cigarette pant. A funky kada-bracelet and round earring will add a style and comfort look.
Girls can experiment with many options. This simple yet stylish kurti is one of them. If you want to try something Indian, then pair a fitted jeans or cotton legging on plain navy blue colour rayon embroidery & artificial mirror work kurti. Fly high in this kurti on uttarayan-2017.
Jacket style kurtis are trending this year. So we decided to design a special short jacket with georgette kurti. This match is very much flavour of the season and can be a smart option also. Enhance it by wearing lots of oxidised bangles and long earring. High heels are not recommended for uttarayan-2017 when you are about to fly kites on terrace. Instead, edgy stoles, ankle-length boots, stylish floaters are all the must flaunt fashion accessories this festival.
This fusion of Indian kurti and western shirt paired with palazzo is a trendy choice for this colourful day. The skin friendly fabric of this kurti gives an extra comfort. Perfect for any type of body, this set of kurti and palazzo can be teamed up with Pumps, Flats, Bellies, Kolhapuris, Sneakers, Moccasin, Peep Toes, Gladiators, or Boots. Uttarayan-2017 is very special as it is the first festival of the New Year.
Tail cut kurti is evergreen for the fashion world from past few years. It is the best western wear option for young girls and women. For more glamorous look on uttarayan-2017, one can try this without any bottom. The showcasing kurti has few embroidery motifs at the front and a beautiful chain as an embellishment. Bollywood divas are in love with this three - fourth sleeve georgette kurti because of its stylish and feminine look.
Would you like to opt for a bohemian look? Try this another creative style kurti. Multi colours of this kurtis are in fashion and super gorgeous. Mix prints and pastel colours give a unique and trendy look to this contemporary and appealing kurti. We are sure that you will rock the uttarayan-2017.
Cotton are the best for every festival and events. Cotton kurtis may be considered as ethnic but it can help you rock a western look as well. An easy way to elevate your ethnic wardrobe is teaming the ethnic kurti with ¾th pants. You might be thinking this would look odd, but trust us, girls, this look will exude your fashion quotient like a pro in uttarayan-2017.
Try out the stylish dhoti pants to stand out in the crowd. This well-fitted kurti is the best paired with dhoti salwar which has several pleats around the thigh area. Pleats are loose at the upper leg area and taper down to the ankle. You can also pair a knee-length button down jacket with this bottom. With dupatta or without, it will surely add a charm to your look of uttarayan-2017.
These bunch of styles will definitely be helpful to uplift your look and turn you gorgeous. Don’t wait for others to start a fashion! Be your own class style! Latest Sharara Designs - 15 Ideas On How To Wear Shararas Outfit Trends - Ideas How to Wear & What to Wear
New Post has been published on https://www.outfittrends.com/latest-sharara-designs-how-to-wear-shararas/
Latest Sharara Designs - 15 Ideas On How To Wear Shararas
Latest Sharara Designs: Sharara or lehenga outfits are the life of a desi wedding. What’s a desi wedding without flaunting your colorful sharara anyway? Flowy, royal, colorful, nothing gets better than that at an Asian wedding. Wedding season is just around the corner, and I am sure, you must be scrolling the internet for the latest sharara designs for your loved one’s wedding, don’t you worry there, we understand the need of the hour and got you covered, always.
From Nomi Ansari to Anita Dongre and from high-end designer shararas to budget-friendly ones, we have it all for you under one roof. Sharara, gharara, saree, and lehengas are all traditional Asian clothing that is worn in weddings or festive events like eid, Diwali, Ramzan get-togethers, holi, and many others. Indian and Pakistani women have taken up this attire since the Mughal era, and it has continued to steal everyone’s hearts with new designs and modern alterations and amendments. Today, we are going to present out all the latest sharara outfits that you should be thinking of getting for yourself this wedding season.
What To Wear With Shararas?
We’ve already done a detailed post on Latest Gharara Suits since ghararas are pretty much like sisters for shararas. The main difference is that while ghararas are more fitted around the thighs, shararas are loosely fitted. Moreover, unlike ghararas, shararas do not have stitching around the knee. You could consider shararas to be the ancestors of the modern palazzo pants. Before we get into details, here are some tips on how to style your shararas.
Traditional and conventional work can be done on modern cuts.
The same is with old fabric, new cuts and work can make the old fabric look new.
Pair lightweight jewelry with heavy work shararas to get you going through a summer wedding.
Even if the sharara is not heavily worked, jewelry can make a big difference.
A fancy, heavy worked sharara is more appropriate for brides.
Net, Gota, Kiran have made a great comeback, make use of them in your wedding wear shararas.
Pair jhumkas and chandbalis with traditional shararas to make them look more royal.
How you style the dupatta with your sharara will define the whole personality. Make sure the dress is more visible than the dupatta. The best way is to pin it at the shoulder on one side and wrap around the hand on the other.
So, now that that’s done, let’s move forward to the ideas of the latest sharara styles.
↓ 15 – Celebrities In Shararas
Two-legged shararas are a lot like ghararas, except they are not gathered above the knee in chunnatain form, rather, they are two flared, wide legs from the top to the bottom. Like Sonakshi Sinha has been seen wearing here, a beautiful white sharara and an embroidered shirt and net dupatta, also in white, which all in all looks like a desi princess. We especially love Sonakshi’s choice of nude lips and dewy makeup with this outfit since it was a day time look. For a night function, you can glam it up with bolder makeup.
Sharara set, Anita Dongre Rs 116,000
Juttis, Fizzy Goblet Rs 2,990
Earrings, Auraa Trends Rs 9,500
And here we see the gorgeous Mahira Khan looking radiant as ever in a bold red sharara outfit.
Pooja Hedge looks just like Princess Jasmine from Aladdin here! She’s wearing an Anita Dongre outfit, and she’s definitely the go-to Indian designer when it comes to celebrity shararas.
↓ 14 – Mehndi Ensemble
This another two-legged sharara in velvet is a perfect mehndi ensemble for winter or springs. Obviously not in South Asia, because spring here is almost like summer and no one can bear to wear velvet in the scorching heat of Pakistan, India, Bangladesh or UAE. However, desi’s across the seven seas can take on this ensemble with ease in times of spring. A beautiful blue embroidered peplum, which is not too heavy nor too simple for your best friend or your sister’s wedding festivities. Paired with flared, two wide-leg shararas and some gold traditional neck and earring piece to complete the whole look. A golden dupatta shown in the picture would work fine with it, chiffon or net pearl dupatta matching the colour of the sharara would look absolutely divine and will pull together the whole outfit as well.
Ice Blue – Peplum Pink Sharara $650.00
↓ 13 – How To Wear Shararas In Winters?
This beautiful velvet Maria B green sharara is all you need for a winter wedding. Got your friend’s wedding? Or a faraway relative or cousin’s wedding coming up? This is all you need to get through the winter mehndi days with elegance and ease. The fabric of velvet is a warm and comfortable fabric which, however, fits best for winter but there is nothing else you would want to drift to on cold wedding days. A beautiful two-legged sharara in one fabric and one colour from head to toe, except for the dupatta to add colour contrast and so you can match your jewelry with it too. The beautiful embroidery on the lower flare of the sharara, on the border of the sleeves and on the neckline gives it a subtle touch to make it look like wedding wear but nothing above the roof. Who would want to deal with heavy, intricate embroidered shararas on distant relatives or friend’s weddings? I wouldn’t, and if you don’t, then this is the perfect style for you.
Sharara Suit Green PKR 20,540
↓ 12 – Banarsi Beauty
Banarsi fabric has been the MVP of shararas, ghararas, saris, and all desi clothing since the beginning of time. Initially, sharara, gharara, and saris used to be of banarsi fabric, with time, however, embroidered, chiffon, net, cotton, and other fabrics made their entry in the world of shararas and ghararas. Bnarsi sharara and an embroidered shirt still remind us of the 90s. This beautiful ensemble adorned by Maya Ali, creation of Nomi Ansari, is a perfect mix of today’s world and the initial sharara, gharara times. A beautiful sky blue topped with copper-colored embroidery and a mix of blue and copper-colored banarsi fabric for the sharara. The dress speaks enough for itself, so only big jhumkas would work to pull the whole look together. Simple banarsi sharara would work just fine with it too, but like shown here, some embroidery on the lower flare of the sharara looks beautiful and heavy as well.
Nomi Ansari Sharara
↓ 11 – Casual Shararas
Shararas and ghararas are not only wedding wears or saris for that matter. In the early 90s and 80s, shararas, ghararas, and saris were adorned on an everyday basis by the elderly women of the house, like grandmothers, mothers, and aunts. With time and modernization though, these desi clothing items were confined to wedding wear only. However, with the 90s and 80s fashion making a comeback, South Asian celebrities have been seen wearing the desi attired on an everyday basis as well, like at a movie premiere, as their airport attired or on other days of work, which have inspired  their fans and followers to take up that fashion as well. Like this beautiful Indian actress here, wearing a simple white patterned cotton frock and a sharara with a chiffon dupatta, and lace added to the borders and the neckline to add some style to it. Some dainty silver chandbalis and jhumkas with traditional silver bangles would out the whole outfit to rest. All in all, this outfit looks divine. Whether it’s a casual sharara or a formal one, the dupatta brings the whole look together, which is why we’ve compiled this list of 17 Types Of Dupattas that you must have.

↓ 10 – Desi Airport Fit
Talking about airport endeavors of Indian actresses and their style, nothing beats Anushka Sharma’s post-wedding look with her hubby Virat Kohli. A simple Sabyasachi long shirt and sharara with her red traditional wedding bangles, a baggy handbag for the journey and some orange khussas to match the detailing on the clothes. This is a perfect style you can carry on desi festivities like eid, diwali, ramzan get-togethers, holi and others. Looks simple yet beautiful when pulled off with right accessories.
↓ 09 – Subtle Yet Sublime
Subtle yet sublime, light yet pretty nonetheless. This beautiful pink sharara and the short shirt is a must-have for summer festivities or weddings, be it an in-house dholki, mehndi, sangeet or any other wedding festivity which is in-home and chill. ↓ 08 – Banarsi Shararas
Another traditional banarsi fabric sharara. But this one is banarsi from head to toe, except for the dupatta which is chiffon, as banarsi dupattas are too heavy and not suitable for a summer wedding. This beautiful bottle green colour is the talk of the town this summer, along with peach and onion pink. This is a perfect style inspo for your upcoming summer weddings. Looks royal, beautiful yet extremely comfortable to carry with no embroidery. Match the outfit with a pair of green and silver earrings, and you are good to go for a dholki or sangeet festivity.
↓ 07 – Semi-Formal Party Shararas
Sharara is not only confined to elderly women anymore, but teens have also been seen wearing and absolutely loving the desi sharara style in weddings as well as in their everyday lives. However, in their own modern style, and not to complain at all here, it’s a whole new look to the traditional sharara style. Some wide-leg flared shararas for your college, friends, or family parties paired with a colored top, tucked in would look more like a dress and hugs the body perfectly. The wide-leg shararas give out the look of the palazzo and flared pants, which teens use in their favor to tuck in the top and make it look edgier. A handbag, traditional jumkas and khussas would complete the whole look.
Women’s flared wide-leg skirt high waist sharara $25.00
Red Gold Banarasi Choli Blouse USD 25.96
Crossbody bag for women $17.99
Miniature painting gold plated brass earrings USD 26.98

Another summer-appropriate sharara style would be this beautiful yellow ensemble. Perfect for religious, cultural, or wedding festivities. Yellow is a breath of fresh air in summers, along with other light on the eyes and skin colors. So, this beautiful bright yellow sharara with a short shirt and, simple flared sharara, and a simple yellow dupatta with gotta work all over the outfit would be perfect for all your summer dholkis, mayoons, sangeet, eid or any other occasion of the same sort. The yellow colour is as versatile as it can get, pair it with gold jewelry or silver jewelry, it will look breathtaking.
↓ 05 – Wedding Wear Shararas
This beautiful Nomi Ansari ensemble has gained popularity in recent times after a Pakistani actress was seen wearing it in a drama serial. And why shouldn’t it anyway? It is a perfect blend of traditional and modern. With its short apple cut shirt, wide-leg sharara and a beautiful embroidered on the borders dupatta. It is a heavily embellished attire in three contrasting colors which will be appropriate for brides. Some gold or copper colour jewelry to go with the copper embroidery on the dress would pull the whole outfit together. Different contrasting colors in one single outfit has been a gradually increasing trend in today’s world, and it looks pretty perfect, so don’t shy away from adding as many colors to your outfit as you want.

↓ 03 – Casual Sharara Style
Another everyday look with shararas. A beautiful cotton short shirt with the same colour cotton sharara would get you through any day at your everyday calendar. Be it a family gathering; Eid get together with friends or family or a day at work when you feel like dressing up. This attire is a perfect fix for such days. ↓ 02 – Sharara For Brides
While brides are only seen in traditional one-legged flowy, flared shararas or ghararas, this is a comfortable and beautiful alternative to that, with equal royalness and beauty to it. Everything about the bride attire stays the same, the bling, the heavy work, the fabric, and the jewelry and footwear, except the sharara, now it has two legs rather than one. Does not look odd with the wide and flared legs of the sharara, as they almost look like one wide leg sharara. The long shirt also modestly covers the legs and yet it is a perfect alternative for any modern bride.
Dark maroon long shirt sharara $2,203.50
↓ 01 – Peachy Delight
Last, but not the least for sure, this beautiful peach sharara attire for Eid festivities especially. Simple, elegant, and traditional, all at the same time. Short shirt with the wide leg sharara, again, looks modern mixed with tradition, which is a perfect fit for 2019. Add some silver jewelry to the look, and it will be phenomenal as lightweight wear for summer religious or cultural festivities. A pair of silver jhumkas for the rescue, and it’s a whole look.

20 Best Reception Dress For Indian Brides
Pratima Ati April 17, 2019
Indian weddings are stereotyped as “big fat weddings,” but so be it. It is a celebration of two families coming together. We are talking about a truckload of people, innumerable ceremonies to plan, and every detail that needs attention, because did I mention? Indian weddings!
The first in line is the bride’s trousseau. But instead of the wedding, mehendi, and sangeet outfits, we will talk about the not-so-popular reception outfit. It is an opportunity to bring out the fashionista in you, and we have outfit ideas that will help you do just that. Take a look!
20 Best Reception Dresses For Indian Brides
The wedding reception is a chance to let out your inner fashionista. Since you need to stick to a theme for the sangeet and mehendi and keep things traditional on your wedding day, you can go all out with your reception outfit. We’ll show you how! We have rounded up 20 of the best reception dresses for Indian brides. Check them out here.
1. Abaya Style Embroidered Suit
www.utsavfashion.in
If you have salwar suit in mind, try an abaya style salwar kameez. The floral applique work all over it (instead of the usual sequins, resham, zari, and stonework) speaks of bridal grandeur and sets the dress apart. The sheer waist lining and matching dupatta add to the charm of this outfit.
2. Yellow Embroidered Net Lehenga In Yellow
www.utsavfashion.in
Steer away from the usual heavy outfits and go for a net lehenga. The floral embroidery all over this net lehenga, the understated crop top with embroidered borders, and the sheer pastel dupatta finish off this look perfectly. If you are into contemporary jewelry, this is your chance to flaunt it!
3. Zari And Stone Embroidered Pink Suit
www.utsavfashion.in
The heavily embroidered body of stones, zari, and sequins on this pastel dress creates a beautifully balanced outfit. Dresses like these are perfect choices for outdoor affairs. Kundan or vintage jewelry is the way to go here.
4. Red Taffeta Silk Lehenga
www.utsavfashion.in
We love how this outfit treats the color red. It is not blown out of proportion just because it’s red and because it’s a wedding color. But, it has also justified the grandeur of the color with the thread and mirror work, tulle dupatta, and the oh-so-stunning crop top.
5. Racerback Style Pastel Lehenga

Two of the most beautiful pastels come together in this racerback crop top style lehenga. The intricate (but not over the top) embroidery of the skirt, the whisper-like pleats, the western twist to the top, and the powder blue dupatta will make you feel like a beautiful star in the midnight sky.
6. Emerald Green Lehenga With Gotta Patti Work
