"Above is a sample of some Traditional 2D animation I did when I worked at Walt Disney Feature Animation from 1994 to 2002.  Below is the reel breakdown. I owe my mentor Glen Keane a million thanks for taking the time to teach me what Eric Larson taught him. 1.Long John Silver test scene. This is the first thing I animated under the instruction of Glen Keane. I wanted him to be glad he selected me to follow up and inbetween all of his scenes properly. The result speaks for itself. 2.Long John Silver test scene. I wanted to show range in my acting. The 1st test had Silver all intense and explosive. This map meant the world to him. He lost his eyes arm and leg chasing this map across the galaxy. But in scene two I wanted to portray a gentler side of Silver but with the subtext of deception. It was a tall order, but hey I don't like ruts! 3.Long John Silver Production scene. This is my first production scene! Here Silver is putting Jim through pirate camp. I just thought of my Dad "Supervising" me as a kid when I washed the family car. 4.Long John Silver Production scene, Jim Hawkins by John Ripa I believe.

5.Alien Background Characters. Not only did John Musker and Ron Clements the directors of Treasure Planet let me animate this production scene they let me design the aliens.”

A 2019 Treasure Planet fan-illustration for a Disney Zine I participated in when my colours were going crazy with vibrance X) I love Treasure Planet, it is one, if not the most of my favourite Disney movies. The father\son relationship between Jim and Silver melts my heart every watch.

So, I've gotten back into Treasure Planet recently. So naturally I downloaded the art book, because I love this movie so much. And I found a really interesting tid-bit about B.E.N.! It says 'Flint served as a father figure to B.E.N, albeit a cruel and abusive one' I would've loved seeing his time as Flints navigator. How the hell did he survive lmao

B.E.N has been my favorite character since childhood, so finding any additional information about him is so fun!

Story time with Mamma (Treasure Planet X Wings of Fire)

This is before Jim’s dad doesn’t come back

Sarah: Oh your father. Wings so dark he can disappear into the night without a trace! A captain who flies with the stars themselves.

Jim: Just like mine, Mamma!!

This is me straying a bit from story and into imagination but I imagine his father being a Nightwing captain, who often goes on journeys and comes back every once in a while to his Skywing wife and their hybrid child. Sarah tells happy stories of Leland to keep Jim’s spirits up between trips.

Heyo I just re-read your rant about Sarah Hawkins and it gave me an idea. Can you draw her deep-cleaning Doppler’s mansion and/or Doppler coming home and he can’t find anything because Sarah deep-cleaned his house? She had nothing else to do while waiting for Jim and it would be really funny XD

so, I was wondering

Do you guys sometimes think about the fact that Sarah Hawkins was a teen mom and was abandoned by her husband because he probably thought that she ruined his life when she certainly had her own dreams too ? That he didn't even say goodbye to Jim that loved him so much, meaning he probably never really cared about Jim ? And that not only was Sarah a young mother raising alone her rebellious son the best she could while taking care of a whole restaurant for years, but she also had to bear the resentments of Jim toward her because she probably couldn't bear to tell him that she didn't wanted the Ex to abandon them and just- decided to bear everything ? And that she was hopeless since she got pregnant and, since we can assume her parents weren't in the picture because of her surprise pregnancy, she had to go through this by herself with a ghost boyfriend ? And that she probably prayed every day for her son to turn out better than his parents did because she can see how a good person and how much potential he has for him to have a good life ? Or are you guys normal
