Can you do a headcanon dump, I’m curious to hear 👀
I have so many that tumblr threw an error and broke down and deleted all the things I wrote so lets see if I can be less verbose (impossible.) My thoughts are mostly fleshing the fuck out of the Phillips family because I love them.
Samuel Phillips's older siblings were from his father's first wife, who died. While still young, his own mother dies in childbirth giving birth to a stillborn daughter.
After this, he's treated poorly by his dad and siblings. He gets really into exploration and new worlds as a way to cope, and he also finds natural talent as a swordsman and horseman, but nothing he excels at is ever enough.
As an adolescent, he forms a strong father-son surrogate bond with his fencing tutor, a wizened old bachelor and veteran of Queen Anne's War (? I need to look at the timeline to see if this works)
Through a mutual friend of his fencing tutor, he is introduced to the idea of joining the army as a light dragoon. His father is furious at this decision, but by this point, 20-something Sammy Phillips is thrilled to do anything to stick it to the ornery old bastard.
------
I don't have as much fleshed out for Lady Phillips, since most of my headcanons have revolved around Major Phillips, but I have some bits.
She's the eldest daughter of a new-rich merchant.
Her name is Eliza. I also named Mrs. Radcliffe Eliza. The two Elizas became best friends forever at the age of four because they were both named Eliza. This is how it goes when you are four.
The future Mrs. Radcliffe is a ho, but her parents are spacey as hell so she does what she wants. Eliza's parents are more parenty, but still reasonable. Eliza gets bit by the rebellion bug all the same.
Our Eliza and Samuel meet at a ball that they're both attending, although the Elizas kind of maybe crashed the ball. Just a little bit. I need to sort out how.
Our Eliza and Samuel get shotgun wedding'd, although they do love each other.
Him and Eliza have trouble conceiving, and he's then shipped off to war.
He gets wounded heroically and sent back to Britain for a bit - and to be knighted! - where he convalesces and they finally have Sarah. He still has a hankering for war - and some unfinished bidness - and manages to return, despite the wound in his shoulder hampering some of his movement.
The situation in North America is looking good for Britain politically, but its turned very ugly.
When the war is over he comes back to see his infant daughter and breaks down. She looks alot like him - but, more specifically, she looks like his mother, with some of Eliza's features.
Despite loving his family, he's become restless with PTSD and can't resist the call to go back to America. When word of Pontiac's war reaches him, he's practically chomping at the bit to return.
What he returns to is even more frustrating for him, and it also begins his friendship/working relationship with the Shawnee.
He goes back one more time to Britain, but by now is totally over it. His relationship with Eliza is in tatters and Sarah is starting to show some teenage angst. He leaves for a job with the Hudson's Bay Company - which he rapidly abandons to go land speculating.
------ My headcanons for LK-timeline and post-LK are a bit simpler
Lady Phillips, to cope with the stress of everything, became an avid gardener and illustrator of plants in Britain. She brings this with her to America when she moves and, eventually, decides to curate and publish a ladies' gardening magazine with the help of James' printing company.
James is a pigeon guy. He got interested in them when he was living in the streets. Later in life he breeds and races pigeons. Sarah originally wasn't thrilled but turns into the Dads Who Did Not Want Pets meme.
James is also able to sing - not amazingly, but also can hold a tune. When he and Sarah have babies, he discovers he loves singing them lullabies and insists on it.
James will also read them humanist literature because of course he does.
TBH I envision he and Sarah having only daughters, but that is largely due to the fact that I am extremely partial to Family With Only Daughters vibes (myself being a member of a Family With Only Daughters.)
James is completely incapable of denying any of his children anything. It is a problem.
I also imagine they had a little bit of trouble having kids, but they manage to have a few anyway.
Major Phillips is a dry, aloof bastard and at first James doesn't know how to deal with the humor and the stand-offishness, but Major Phillips does grow to like James.
Grandpa Phillips, though not fully able to do fencing any more due to injuries he sustained in war, still has a sword collection.
He also loves to play with his granddaughters, possibly making up for all the time he lost with his own daughter.
James is extremely anxious to ask for Sarah's hand, until Major Phillips point blank tells him to.
Henri doesn't stay in France for long and comes back to be Uncle Henri to the Hillips babies. They love him because of his hijinks and the fact he's always bringing them bonbons and little toys and such.
Major Phillips meets Henri and has no idea what to make of him.
Henri becomes a baker. Because I said so, thats why.
Mrs. Radcliffe and her husband are 18th century swingers. You can't tell me that woman doesn't have the look and mien of a swinger.
Lady Phillips is extremely pissed at Major Phillips for a very long time for good reason. She moves from their old home to America mostly for Sarah, but also because she has no real say in the matter.
Y'all have heard my James and Sarah are horsegirls headcannon. To expand on it, they will sometimes race when they're feeling flirty.
Both of them come to Caesar to talk about their feelings, but especially James. James is not very subtle about it and at least Henri and Moses know he's doing it.
James eventually adopts Caesar and he lives out his final years in good care getting fat on grass.
During the postmaster general timeframe, Sarah's introduced to a neighbor's feisty pony, Flip. She eventually adopts him.
Sarah and James first bone at Yorktown. tbh.
Udney is a himbo. I'm 50/50 on him and Sarah actually messing around a little at one point pre-James courtship - Sarah being mad at James for whatever reason, Udney 100% being her type, and teenagers/young adults not being particularly well-equipped for self control.
I also don't like first-time energies in ships - a quirk of mine - so I've also played around with James having a rebound he doesn't realize is a rebound when Sarah goes to Britain, because again. Teenagers/young adults sometimes make Decisions.
----
Anyway these are just some of my headcanons.

(The Wedding Conversation)
Lucy: here.
Kara: what’s this?
Lucy: a cheque for 800 million dollars.
Kara: wow! Want me to give this to Alex and Kelly?
Lucy: no. I bought them a China tea set. The one in the catalogue that Kelly circled with orange felt-tip. The cheque is for you and Mon El.
Kara: yeah I think everyone got them the China tea set WHAT?!?! 800 MIL-800 million dollars? Where did you get it from?
Lucy: me. James. Alex and Kelly. Winn and Samantha. Cat and Carter. Clark and Lois. Thea Queen and her niece. Barry and Iris. Sara Lance. Actually Sara’s the reason why it’s a cheque. I didn’t know what year the money was from. For all I know she could’ve robbed a treasury during prohibition.
Kara: yeah she does that. But why?
Lucy: the boys are what? Six months old now? They’ll be walking soon. Flying soon. The loft is no place to raise your family. James and I found this great bungalow for you guys. It has three guest bedrooms. Four if the twins share until they’re older. En suite bathrooms. Walk in wardrobe in the master bedroom. Giant backyard you can cover in baby safe foam material. Plus. It’s still in National City. So you can still be Supergirl and Valor. You win. Everybody wins.
Kara: I can’t accept this.
Lucy: yes you can. Look, Kara. Fact of the matter is. We’re family.
Kara: we’re Space Balls. You’re my cousin’s sister in law. We’re virtually nothing to each other.
Lucy: and yet I still wanted to help you and your family. What does that tell you?
Kara: I’ve been an ass?
Lucy: only occasionally. Okay look. I know we don’t see eye to eye on everything. You prefer to talk things out before you start punching and I prefer to use brute force before talking.
Kara: yup.
Lucy: but we’re still family. And after what you’ve been through. You deserve this. Which brings me to my next point.
Kara: what?
Mon El: Cat just told me that your job is ready and waiting for you whenever we get back.
Kara: our honeymoon. I completely forgot.
Mon El: oh yes!
Lucy: we can move your stuff in. Alex and Winn know where you like to put everything. It’ll all be ready for you when you get back. Just send holograms of the chubby cheeks and vomitron.
Mon El: is Tony vomitron?
Lucy: does my hair still smell like milk and crackers?
Kara: yes.
Lucy: then yes. Tony’s vomitron.
Kara: thank you Lucy. Sincerely.
Lucy: it’s what I’m here for.
Mon El: how did you think this up though?
Lucy: well I have new memories of Clark and Lois dealing with their boys emerging powers. So I thought you’d need a house more equipped for new parents.
Kara: how’re we gonna spin it?
Mon El: hm?
Kara: the city depends on us. We can’t just leave them for a year.
Lucy: well I say fuck em. You’ve given six years of your life to this city. You’ve been tortured, hunted and almost killed multiple times. It will survive without you guys for twelve months. And between all of us at the DEO. The city’s in more than good hands.
Kara: it still doesn’t seem right to me. Kara Danvers can’t just disappear. Maybe we should release a state-
Lucy: please don’t. You don’t need more Lena’s blaming you for everything. Forget about Kara Danvers. Forget about Mike Danvers. Forget about Supergirl and Valor. Kara Zor El and Mon El need their say. Your real lives have had to be a secret for a long, long time. You more than deserve the chance to be yourselves.
(Kara still doesn’t seem convinced)
Mon El: hey. Honey. Look at me. What was our plan for when we got married?
Kara: go to Argo on our honeymoon and have a second wedding there.
Mon El: and what did Sarah Jane tell the Doctor at the end of Journey’s End?
Kara: “you have the biggest family on earth”.
Mon El: and your family encompasses planets and dimensions and, let’s face it, occasionally time periods. And your birth parents deserves to know their grandsons. Plus. I wanna get to know my in laws that aren’t Eliza, Alex and Kelly. But you can’t keep ignoring a whole entire half of yourself because you’re afraid of what others might think of you. That’s no way to live.
Kara: let’s do it.
Mon El: what? Really?
Kara: yes. Let’s go to Argo for a year. I mean not right away. We’re babysitting Esme for two weeks while Alex and Kelly are on their honeymoon. And we’ll have to release a statement as our Alter Egos saying we won’t be around for a while. But we’re going to Argo.
Mon El: YES!
(He picks up Kara and spins her around)
Esme: Uncle Mon. Aunt Nia’s asking for you.
Mon El: ooh it’s bouquet time.
Kara: what?
Mon El: I promised Nia I’d stop Andrea getting the bouquet.
Kara: oh she’s gonna hate you for that.
Mon El: I’m planning on it. C’mon!
Kara: WHAHOO!

Butts & Conté
Over the last couple of summers, when it was nice and sunny outside, my friend Kathryn Durst and I have had the pleasure of organizing costume life drawing sessions in Kathryn’s backyard.
These events were a lot of fun. Many of our talented friends came to draw with us. We had snacks and music playing, and a costumed model doing short poses for us animation folk.
Usually in October it would already be too cold to draw outside, but we were lucky to be able to host our Halloween sessions at Clay and Paper theatre, as well as Darren Leu’s Creature Creating space.
We would like to thank everyone who came to our sessions, and everyone that contributed, as well as our talented models. Thank you!!
In the winter months, we usually stay inside, drink tea and focus on our work.
If you live in Toronto and are interested in our sessions, follow our Facebook page for updates: https://www.facebook.com/buttsandconte/
Here’s some art from our sessions, featuring work from Dylan Glynn, Kathryn Durst, Seo Kim, T-wei, Sarah Ball, and I. There’s more on the Facebook page!

Must Watch Films
1. Little Women
There are four clever and caring March sisters, namely: Jo March (Saoirse Ronan) lives in New York City and works as a writer, while her sister Amy March (Florence Pugh) studies painting in Paris in the years following the Civil War. Amy meets Theodore "Laurie" Laurence (Timothe Chalamet), her young crush who proposed to Jo but was rejected. Meg March (Emma Watson), their oldest sibling, is married to a schoolteacher, while quiet sister Beth (Eliza Scanlen) suffers from a life-threatening illness that draws the family closer together.
2. Ocean's 8
Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock), Danny Ocean's younger sister, assembles an all-female gang to undertake an improbable robbery at New York City's annual Met Gala. She meets with her former co-conspirator Lou (Cate Blanchett) to persuade her to participate in a theft she planned while serving her sentence. Debbie and Lou round up the rest of their crew: Rose Weil (Helena Carter), a bankrupt fashion designer; Amita (Mindy Kaling), a jewelry designer; Nine Ball (Rihanna), a computer hacker; Constance (Awkwafina), a pickpocketer; and Tammy (Sarah Paulson), a profiteer and suburban mom. The goal is to use Daphne Kluger (Anne Hathaway), a famous actress who wears the Toussaint, a $150 million Cartier necklace.
3. Wonder Woman
Diana, who is the brilliant Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), was raised on a secluded island paradise. She is the princess of the Amazons, and is a trained unconquerable warrior before she became the DC female superhero. Which later then encounters an American pilot (Chris Pine) who informs her about the world's great struggle. Diana leaves her house for the first time, convinced that she can stop the danger. In the war, She realizes her full abilities and ultimate destiny while fighting alongside men to end all conflicts.

Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton story (in the best i can but many of this is on wiki)
This story isn't based on the musical itself. Since the musical is inaccurate to the bone with some stuff to make it into a drama or soap opera.
Eliza Schuyler or what people call her Betsey or Elizabeth Schuyler. Elizabeth was born on August 9th, 1757, to a powerful and rich family in New york. Eliza was the second child to 15 children which would downgrade to 8 children. She had 4 sisters and 3 brothers that lived up to adulthood.
The Schuyler family is a dutch family from the Netherlands during the 1600s.
Eliza in her youth met famous people, Benjamin Franklin and more. She was also described as being a tomboy.
Now older, (this part is still unsure about her first meeting with her future husband) there are many parts to like, his visit to her home with Washington, her being a nurse with her aunt in the colonies base, during their free time where she played the piano and he chills next to her, or the famous one at the ball) Eliza stayed with her aunt during the war as a nurse to the soldiers. Schuyler would end up meeting Hamilton during the winter. (you know I remember this funny story about their relationship that involved Washington and Washington had to stop them from falling in love with each other. And in today's standard words he was being a dad and telling Philip to control his daughter.)
During that time, she became close with Martha Washington who Eliza idealized her as a true woman.
After returning home from her meeting with Alexander, Hamilton had forgotten his password to the army headquarters. (which made me laugh a lot about) their relationship grew, even apart from each other. They wrote letters and planned what could be a secret wedding. But they ask for Philip's blessing to be engaged and married. Which was successful. Eliza learned that John Andre was captured. Eliza and even Alex were head over heels over John Andre.
John Andre was hanged for his crimes.
Eliza and Alex were married by December 14, 1780. The newlywed couple went to Eliza’s childhood home as a honeymoon at Pastures for a short time. But returned in early January of 1781. Eliza resumed her friendship with Martha until their husbands had a falling out. And Hamilton had to move into her father’s home, to a new house that’s across the river from Windsor headquarters. Eliza planned the ideas of a newly built home while helping Hamilton with his political writings. Some of the papers were written in her handwriting. They moved again to Albany with her parents.
Not so long ago, Eliza discovered she was pregnant with her first child and by next January, it would be a son named Philip. Alexander wrote letters to Eliza to make her calm about his safety.
While the war was coming close to home, the Schuyler didn’t have any losses with a quick-thinking Peggy saving their youngest sister from death or kidnap. While their father was away.
After Yorktown, Alex returned to her safely. Even if the war wasn’t fully over until 1783. Her eldest sister, angelica, and her husband john church moved to Britain which was claimed for business reasons. By Sept 25, 1784, Eliza gave birth to their second child, a daughter named Angelica.
By 1787, Eliza sat for a portrait that was painted by a prisoner. By 1786, she gave birth to their third child, a son named Alexander (jr). 2 years later, by 1788, she gave birth to their fourth son named James Alexander.
In 1787, Hamiltons took in a daughter by a soldier friend of Hamilton, who had already lost his wife and couldn’t take care of their daughter, Fanny, or Frances Antill, the youngest child of one sister. (who she will live with after 10 years with the hamiltons)
Through the years, Hamiltons were active socially to everyone, tending to balls and parties. Eliza even danced with George Washington. Both Eliza and Alex hosted a dinner party with Thomas Jefferson. When Hamilton became the treasury secretary, Eliza, Sarah Jay, Lucy Knox became leaders of the official society.
Eliza became an aid for Alexander and all of his Political work and even his idea for the Bank of United States and even he read out the Washington Farewell Address to her. She continued raising the children, until the time when John Church Hamilton was born in 1792.
2 years later, Eliza suffered a miscarriage that almost taken her life. Their youngest child became ill and Eliza became worried over her missing husband. This was the point of Alex resigning from public office. He resumed his law practice to be close to his family.
But then by 1797, things went downhill through the couple’s marriage where an affair was brought to light to everyone’s eye. Alexander has written a pamphlet that talks about his affair with a fair woman named Maria Reynolds. And the tale of his blackmail with her and her husband.
This causes Eliza to not believe at first but later did when Alexander confirmed it. At the time, Eliza was pregnant with their sixth child. (with many people not knowing if Eliza reacted or said anything besides not believing it at first, is still a mystery) Eliza left Alex back home and went to live with her father for a bit. She only returned because of a sickness that their eldest son had, which was incurable to him.
Eliza only forgave Alex when dying or thought they were gonna die of yellow fever. Not the death of Philip hamilton. They reconnected and fixed their marriage. The couple had two more kids, a daughter named Eliza in 1799 and a son who wouldn’t meet his eldest brother and namesake, Philip II in 1801. Philip Hamilton ended up dying in a duel at the hands of George Eacker. The couple changed by Philip’s death but they finished the first and only built home called the Hamilton Grange, named after Alexander’s father’s homeland in Scotland. Eliza and Alex became close again and wrote letters to each other when one was away, like when Eliza attended her mother’s funeral in 1803.
The couple lived there for 2 years until Alexander Hamilton died in a duel at the hands of Aaron Burr.
Within the years after and before Alex's death, her mother, her sister Peggy and her son Philip died before Alexander in 1803 and 1801. After, her father died months after and her siblings followed. Eliza had to pay her husband's debt and even sell the house to live with family or her children.
In 1798, Eliza accepted the invitation of a friend of the Society for the Relief of Poor Widows with Small Children. But now after 2 years after her husband’s death, she joins in and resumes with them. She met other women, including Joanna Bethune, the founder of Orphan Asylum Society. Eliza, herself counted as second vice president.
Throughout the rest of her life, she defended her Husband from critics, support his claim as authorship to the Washington Farewell Address, and requested an apology from James Monroe which refused multiple times until he gave in, when they met in person, talking about alexander shortly before his death (monroe). Eliza collects all the letters and papers of her husbands and helps her son, John Church hamilton.
Schuyler had a small package around her neck that had a sonnet that Alexander wrote to her, himself.
By her 90s, she made an effort to congress to buy and publish her husband’s work. Which they accepted by august. Still during her 90s, she did charity work, and helped out with dolley madison, and louisa adams who are both widows to james madison and john q. Adams.
Even so, she grew and helped out with everything she could. Eliza had suffered with short term memory loss which only allowed her to remember her husband by 1846.
By 1854 of November 9, Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton had left the world by the age of 97, in Washington D.C and moved to New York to be buried by her husband.
Eliza outlived all of her family except the Youngest that survived to British attack. By 50 years.
Happy Birthday Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton, and Happy 264th Birthday.

Hot Vintage TV Women's Bracket - List of the Ladies!
As promised below is a full list of all 130 women in the Hot Vintage TV Women's Tournament! Thank you to everyone who submitted their favs!
Just a brief bit of cleanup before the list. Thank you for all the submissions. If your submission didn't make it into the bracket or some of your propaganda isn't used know that I still appreciated the submission even if we weren't able to use it. Some things got cut for being outside the bounds of the tournament, some things got cut because the links were broken, etc. Anything I wasn't sure about got brought to family and friends for a second opinion. I did my best to keep as much in as possible but some things just ended up leaning too far outside of our criteria. If you notice some stuff that seems outside the criteria slip by it's because I tried to be very generous so as long as something wasn't obviously outside of our time period or rules I usually gave it a pass.
Anyway, I am working on the bracket as we speak and apologize in advance cause I don't think there's any way to make round 1 completely painless, as you'll see we have a pretty stacked line-up so I'm excited to see how things work out! Enjoy and see you all on Monday April 15th for round one of the Hot Vintage TV Women's Bracket!

Valentine week, 1850 - Emily Dickinson
‘Awake ye muses nine, sing me a strain divine, Unwind the solemn twine, and tie my Valentine!
Oh the Earth was made for lovers, for damsel, and hopeless swain, For sighing, and gentle whispering, and unity made of twain. All things do go a courting, in earth, or sea, or air, God hath made nothing single but thee in His world so fair! The bride, and then the bridegroom, the two, and then the one, Adam, and Eve, his consort, the moon, and then the sun; The life doth prove the precept, who obey shall happy be, Who will not serve the sovereign, be hanged on fatal tree. The high do seek the lowly, the great do seek the small, None cannot find who seeketh, on this terrestrial ball; The bee doth court the flower, the flower his suit receives, And they make merry wedding, whose guests are hundred leaves; The wind doth woo the branches, the branches they are won, And the father fond demandeth the maiden for his son. The storm doth walk the seashore humming a mournful tune, The wave with eye so pensive, looketh to see the moon, Their spirits meet together, they make them solemn vows, No more he singeth mournful, her sadness she doth lose. The worm doth woo the mortal, death claims a living bride, Night unto day is married, morn unto eventide; Earth is a merry damsel, and heaven a knight so true, And Earth is quite coquettish, and beseemeth in vain to sue. Now to the application, to the reading of the roll, To bringing thee to justice, and marshalling thy soul: Thou art a human solo, a being cold, and lone, Wilt thou have no kind companion, thou reap’st what thou hast sown. Hast never silent hours, and minutes all too long, And a deal of sad reflection and wailing instead of song? There’s Sarah, and Eliza, and Emeline so fair, And Harriet, and Susan, and she with curling hair! Thine eyes are sadly blinded, but yet thou mayest see Six true, and comely maidens sitting upon the tree; Approach that tree with caution, then up it boldly climb, And seize the one thou lovest, nor care for space, or time! Then bear her to the greenwood, and build for her a bower, And give what she asketh, jewel, or bird, or flower - And bring the fife, and trumpet, and beat upon the drum - And bid the world Goodmorrow, and go to glory home!’
