And now we have arrived at the middle of July and I have no idea how that happened or what is going on anymore. 🤷♀️ I mean. Sure … it’s nice to reach ‘summer’, and it means that some more book related activities (other than reading) are just around the corner, but still. My brain cannot process it. This coming weekend is ‘Harrogate’ weekend and if that is not a sign we are on a fast march to…

My Perfect Daughter
Peter McKenna was a psychopath who used his five-year old daughter, Maddie, to lure women to his farm, where he tortured and killed them. Zoe was jogging when she saw Maddie. Concerned about her safety, she took her back to the farm, where Peter knocked her unconscious. She later found herself shackled to a chair in a barn. Maddie took a liking to Zoe and helped her escape. Maddie was sent to a…

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. The Three Ws are: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next? Personal: I will not go into a day-by-day breakdown like I usually do. It will take up too much time, and my brain is still fried from Christmas. Christmas was good. I got a Kindle Scribe which I…

What do you mean there are only SIX AGATHA RAISIN FANFICS???
I thought there be at least a hundred!! (Cause the show has fanfic potential ngl)
Or well at least 10 James x Charles enemies to lovers turned annoying spouses who casually run into murders and still have Agatha around just incase
A DC Wong villain arch cause really how does he keep his cool?
Or a good old spy au, idk a Miss Fisher crossover?
Gotta check out those six fics cause mate that just sounds bonkers!
Yeah, I was like, "WHAT, ONLY SIX?!"
My favourite was the Charles/James/Agatha one where they went to investigate murders of throuples.
I will say that I have plans for a story, but because it's a murder mystery, I do have to plan this one.
I also love Denzil, he's a rubbish officer, but good at the arts, and I respect that.
Also, Bill has the patience of a saint, and Sarah deserves more than Jez; there I said it.
I started watching because of Jamie Glover and Jason Merrells and then ended up becoming obsessed with everyone.

When a reporter goes undercover as a nanny to get the inside scoop on a playboy prince, she gets tangled in some royal intrigue and ends up finding love – but will she be able to keep up her lie? You can easily tell that everybody is trying their hardest to portray these characters. Some of them came across as real-life people while others just felt like characters in a movie. This could mainly be pointed to the writing in this film. Some of the lines in this film were just hilariously bad and cringy and I would give examples but I already forgot them. But I do have to say the scenery was stunning and the production on this was well done. Each set and costume looked perfect for each scene. The costumes fit each character and showed a bit more into their personality. For example, Richard’s outfits made him look like royalty but at the same time, a normal guy because that’s what he wants to be. This film had lots of pacing issues. From beginning to end it didn’t feel like that was the speed it should be going at. The beginning felt slow while the ending felt to fast. The creators of the film might have thought they had a longer film and then realized they only had a one hour and thirty-two-minute film so they had to quickly resolve the film. The last thing I want to talk about is the relationship in this film. It’s not believable or relatable. I know it shouldn’t be relatable seeing how it is about a journalist falling in love with a prince but the writers still should make it so some people can relate to at least one of them. And it isn’t believable because it seems too rushed. Throughout the entire film, they are hardly around each other and then all of a sudden he just loves her. There is no explanation why just little subtle hints. In the end, A Christmas Prince is perfect for people who like RomComs but for others not so much. I give A Christmas Prince a 6/10. Kamurai: Decent watch, probably won’t watch again, but can recommend. While it isn’t anything truly special, it’s a decent version of a “journalist in disguise falls in love” trope. Though the object of affection being a prince allows for resources that almost anyone wouldn’t turn down. There certainly is a lot of production put into the movie to maintain the grand perception of royals, but the best part of the movie is the heart felt Christmas vibe of it. Unfortunately, this is mostly achieved through the secondary characters and them influencing the royal family.

The Phone Call an audible production thriller book review
Audiobook Review narrated by Frazer Blaxland Sometimes the guilty are innocent Joey Clarke was just fifteen when his dad died, leaving him to raise his much younger siblings as his mum dealt with the trauma of bereavement and her failing health. Ten years on, Joey’s only pleasure is spending time with his friend Becca, the love of his life. It’s the one escape from his dead-end job, his ever-increasing debts, and the fear that enforcement agents will knock on his door any day. So when a phone call brings Joey the chance to ease the burdens of his life, he grabs the opportunity, even though he knows things are not entirely as they should be. He justifies it to himself as a way to get back on his feet. But when he finds himself party to a crime involving Becca, he panics. The narrator was fantastic, and the audio production was really good, so much that when the book ended I just wanted it to continue. The characters are extremely well rounded and defined and poor Joey, he's just a normal guy that gets dragged into absolute awfulness that my heart went out to him. He is one of the world's good guys but finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. Then there is his seemingly innocent friend Becca the one he admires and is actually in love with. Joey really had so much to deal with and I felt awful for him during the entire story. PLOT: This was well thought out and one that kept me wanting to hear more and more because I just had an inkling there would be an end plot twist and A.J.Campbell did not disappoint. I definitely didn't see it coming not in the slightest. I never would have guessed what this author was going to surprise us with. I love a good thriller and The Phone Call is one of my favorites of this year. Highly recommend this book if you enjoy Lisa Jewell, Freida McFadden or Sarah A. Denzil. #bookstagram #audiobook #thriller #ajcampbell #thrillerbook #audible #indieauthor #booktok

~26/3/2023~ Had a really low day :( L phoned in sick first thing, which was feeling really difficult as not had anyone in since Thursday and only minimally then. Was finding it hard to process in the morning, but managed to message A to see if she could find any last minute cover (she couldn’t :( ). Painted some rainbow baubles to help distract. Then decided needed to get out of the flat as seeing the disarray around us was making us feel worse. So took some lunch out with us and headed on the bus to East Grinstead - read kindle on the journey and managed to finish a really good book - Only Daughter by Sarah Denzil. Sadly seemed to feel even worse mentally when out and about - everywhere looked rainy and depressing, which didn’t help. Realised we felt lonely, and then felt ‘silly’ for feeling lonely. Not having PA support makes us realise how much we rely on them, and struggling without it reminds us of the time when during the battle for social care became suicidal as could see no way we could practically live. Went to a quiet area and messaged our therapist. Then got next bus home, stopping via sainsburys local to get a few essentials we’d run out of at home. Then in the evening just mainly sat under weighted blanket with Bella sat on lap comforting and soothing us with her purrs. 🦄 #instadaily #instablog #update #mentalhealth #dissociativeidentitydisorder #cptsd #autism #traumarecovery #edrecovery #anxiety #chronicillness #disability #pots #potsie #dysautonomia #positivevibes #recovery #depression #nature #cuckfield #localwalks #natureseeker #naturelove #reflections #bluesky #spring #lonely #naturesperfection — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/h2HYBDl
