Welcome! I'm Julianne / Jenkins (they/she). I am 19 years old!
Tumblr media
🍓 I'm Julianne / Jenkins! I'm an Multi Media Art student, amateur illustrator, self shipper, and professional silly little guy (autistic)!! I am nonbinary and a lesbian :3
🍓 This is my main blog which is an amalgamation of my art, my interests, written works, and reblogs!
🍓 Mainly a self shipping blog
🍓 Hey! I have a blog PURELY dedicated to Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees. Essays, fanart, fanfics, news, everything!
🍓 pssst...my comms are always opennnn!
🍓 I'm interested in animation in general, vintage and cutesy aesthetics, toys, sweets ^_^
Tumblr media
Main Interests: (Pink text are my special interests!)
Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees, Don't Hug Me I'm Scared, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Sailor Moon, Saint Young Men, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Sonic the Hedgehog, Rodney Alan Greenblat works (PaRappa, Dazzeloids, mascot projects), Sanrio, The Mountain Goats, They Might Be Giants
Tumblr media
🍰🍰My Self Ships! 🍰🍰
💐 House Guest: 💉Samantha Strong x Julianne Lucky I am not normal about them in da slightest tehehehe! main ship
💐 Stuffed Animal: 🧸Lesley x The Illustrator secondary self ship. Lesley is still a main f/o but you can blame DHMIS for being notoriously slow on any updates.
💐Sappho Suffocating: 🍰 Working on a interfandom polycule w both f/os!
I am not comfortable with sharing of any kind! I headcanon both these characters as lesbians. Do not derail!
These tags host my ramblings, writing, headcanons, and art for these ships. I also occasionally post non-specific imagines although most are targeted towards the fem!f/o demographic...
I also post. Normal BTTWNS art and analysis which you can find here! (seriously you should read this series..)
Tumblr media
Guess this should also go without saying but PROSHIP / COMSHIP / DARKSHIP DO NOT INTERACT.
I explore heavy subject matter due to the source media of both f/os. Heavier warning for House Guest because it gets a bit intense. Please remember that none of my ships should be read as abusive. I just enjoy exploring these complex characters through hypotheticals and am only working within what the creators have stated about their personalities.
I sometimes post suggestive text/memes/art so please block tags such as [suggestive text] or [suggestive] if ur uncomfortable or a minor.
Do not also interact if you share f/os. Please just be nice! I'm still figuring out how to sort this blog up!
My askbox is always open if you wanna chat and be friends! I love you! ;O

Hi! I'm not sure if this has been answered before but what are your feelings on the trend of turning Greek mythological figures like Achilles into sexuality labels like "achillean"?
I assume it may be different and more loaded than, say, using a historical figure like Sappho (a non-mythological figure afaik) in "sapphic". Nowadays I feel cautious whenever westerners decide to just personally identify with gods from cultures they're not even a part of, especially from a completely different cultural/political angle.
(fyi i'm asking because a queer community i'm part of has started considering adopting a similar label using Artemis, a goddess, which may be a LOT more insensitive. it isn't a huge topic or discourse, just something i spotted out in the wild but has gained some traction within that community - yet again neglecting to consider how actual Greeks might feel about it)
@roomba-mangga I apologize for the great delay but my askbox is full for months back :(
I feel "Achillean" is misplaced because it does not describe a real situation. For Sappho we have some indications at least but for Achilles and Patroclus things are different. Not only were they cousins but also excerpts of anything sexual between them have not been saved.
The fact that ancient people wondered about their sexuality (speaking about those who say "but ancient Greeks also saw them as gay") does not mean that it was a widely held notion among all Greeks (people were just discussing headcanons, to put it simply), and it does not mean that they viewed the relationship or the people as "gay" the same way we view "gay" today.
People who read the Iliad and see Achilles and Patroclus as a sexual couple - I feel - ignore the intimacy of Mediterranean men in friendships (and those of a different time!) and project their own modern standards of physical and emotional relationships onto them.
I am scared to know what they were saying for Artemis :o Does it have to do with asexuality?

Hey regarding that book askbox game: 4, 5, 9!
4) A popular book you dislike
I couldn't get into The Magicians because Quentin Clearwater* is The Worst.
*Coldwater. Hated him so much I didn't even remember his name. Thought he was one of those Twilight werewolves I guess
5) A book you love that it seems like no one else has read.
I have many obscure favs to choose from! I wish more people had read my childhood obsession The Underland Chronicles by Suzanne Collins. I always wished that the popularity she got from The Hunger Games had extended to TUC! There's a very small fandom on here for it though, which is nice.
9) A book that you found yourself thinking about a long time after you finished it.
I think about several different Sappho fragments from If Not, Winter (translated by Anne Carson) all the time despite having first read them early last year. They live deep in my heart.

Maybe that’s just me and my snowflake jeu opinion but concerning Sappho; literally who cares if she was bi or not?? Like.. idk I just feel the fact that she loved women should be enough? And we shouldn’t need the “juicy details”? Idk I just feel the whole “bi vs lesbian” is really just another symptom of the lesbian separationism, and some lesbians being super biphobic et all? I feel like it shouldn’t matter if a wlw loves only women, we’re all wlw and not so different (I’m a lesbian don’t @ me)
Literally a lot of people care because representation is important. Bi people already have to fight for visibility, and saying stuff like this only makes that fight harder.

お前は間抜けだ。
Hey, @sappho-the-witch, I got one too. As I literally never get hatemail and you got something in Japanese in your askbox roughly at the same time, I think it's safe to assume this is because of the post I reblogged from you and added my take about not wanting pedophiles writing smut fanfiction for children. Probably OP sent this.

question about the minecraft classic nb & lesbian post: who made (what I assume is) the lesbian flag?
hi! im not sure when i got this ask- my askbox seems a little... broken? but! the design is by Lydiandragon on medium.com! The flag is based on a poem written by Sappho, and she shared an article about the creation of her flag here; https://medium.com/@lydiandragon/a-lesbian-flag-for-everyone-cef397b89459 (Her Tumblr post of the flag is here: https://kispesan.tumblr.com/post/175281520234/a-lesbian-pride-flag-proposal-for-all-lesbians-in)

Another question again sorry 💞💞 ! Which asteroids who aren't necessarily show on a birth chart are good to know ? (If it's called asteroids too,I'm not too sure 😥) I heard about lilith and eros that's all !
hello there!!!! uwu 💕 im answering this second ask first just because the first one is deeper in my askbox but skdjfn 💕💕 thank u for sending them in ;u; im always happy to hear from u and like interact/talk to u 💕
[Below Cut: Personal thoughts on Asteroids/Minor Planets]
A good place to start is with what I personally find interesting: Chiron, Juno, Ceres, Pallas, Vesta 💕Personally I try to get them down first just because they mean something to us personally/individually and I think of them as directly affecting us (like not just as an aspect of our lives, but influencing us in total as well). Of course with asteroids, the orbs/value is very important. Try to keep the aspect it has to another planet lower than 2′ (make sure it’s really tight).
I try to start off with those and the hit on the others that interests me (the karmic stuff). So Lunar node, True Node, etc.
And then the asteroids I have a growing interests in: Vertex, Psyche (‘16′ - on astro.com), Chaos (19521), Persephone (399) Nymphe (875), Lust (4386) and Sappho (80)
A good place to start finding interests in these asteroids would just be to consult someone who’s already interested in it/invested in it somehow? 💕
If you search the asteroids/minor planet tag on tumblr, there’s a few that would show up!  💕 Honestly it’s more of a ‘learn as I go’ kind of deal, I just kind of pick it up whenever I have time but I don’t actively spend insane amount of time studying them in depth. I kind of just makes inquiries and notes as I go.💕
I hope this helps u somewhat!! You don’t have to force yourself to learn about things that don’t interest you 💕 So just take some time to figure out what you like/want to learn about, even if it’s not ‘mainstream’ 💕 That’s the point with asteroids, it’s also studying the time/events that occurred during it’s transit so most of the time-- if you’re just focusing on yourself you can look into things that’s relevant to you, for you instead (like you don’t have to make academic guesses/observations about things all the time or observe/make notes if you don’t want to-- it’s just easier to focus on things that you’re invested in because you can)
I hope this helps you out!!  💕 And thank u for sending in the asks btw!! ;u;  💕 💕

Absolutely no pressure! But I’ve been missing your autistic supercorp fic quite a bit. Do you think you’ll write a spooky chapter?
bestie, i’m missing it too 😔✊ been stuck on ch 5 for a while now, so i’m taking a break to work on other projects that come more easily to me such as this fluffy wip 😎. taking a break to work on other projects really helped me get the brain juices to write chapter two after a six month dry spell (😬), haha, so hopefully one day very soon sappho will bless me with the energy+ability to finally finish up ch 5 😌
alas, i do not have any spoopy chapters planned! i have the whole fic Very Thoroughly Outlined as well, and i kinda don’t wanna risk messing with that haha 😅, so i probably unfortunately won’t be adding one. However i do vaguely remember getting an ask related to how kara and lena would do halloween in this fic! mayhaps one of these days i’ll finally have the energy to dig it out of my askbox and give it the proper response it deserves ❤️
