more ppl need to se this post (esp able bodied neurodivergents) bc i think thats why so many able-bodied disabled ppl just shit on physically disabled ppl.
also small mini rant abt that “ik what its like” part:
bc its crazy how ppl will take an experience that they obviously don’t understand and will be like: “i feel ur pain💔💔💔💔”
like how tf do u relate adhd paralysis with temporary paralysis or paralysis in general, how do u relate being clumsy with having walking difficulties, how do u “relate” to things you obviously don’t get??!!!?? i fucking hate ppl who derail cuz yall are the most annoying ppl to come across.
“but, my adhd paralysis-“ spare me the false empathy and STFU PLEASE!!
I wanna talk to other autistic people about this, but does anyone else feel like they’re being pushed out of disability spaces?
like, even on here, with other disabled people, it feels like my condition and the things that limit my ability to live a normal life aren’t considered as important as someone with a physical disability. Or as impactful on my life.
Any attempts at relate to the situations of physically disabled people seems to be discouraged, even if the situations are the same or very similar. Like, I can’t drive. I don’t have a job. I don’t have the ability to stay out for long periods of time. I can’t do a lot of the things non-autistic and other able bodied people can do. So I will always relate to those experiences.
I’m not saying that I’m the exact same as a physically disabled individual. Ultimately, i have capacities to do things a lot of physically disabled folks can’t, and vice versa, there are things non-autistic disabled folk can do that I can’t. But I don’t know why any attempt to bridge a common gap is seen as bad. We’re both disabled. Why is my disability some how lesser than yours?
this is a genuine concern. I’m not trying to start a fight, I’d just like someone to talk to.

☹my symptoms (Dx )
☹any forms of hate (racism homophobia ableism
☹TW⚠️ mentions of ab*se
yeah, thats abt it
‼️also if ur gonna reblog my posts, and you have no physical disability, pls say ur ablebodied‼️
‼️also pls don’t derail my posts abt my physical issues and make it abt stuff u don’t understand ie: “my ADHD paralysis is sooo similar to ur FND paralysis/temporary paralysis” these kinds of comments are so unnecessary so don’t try to give me that false empathy bs‼️
okay thats it byeeeeee :33

Here's a weird hot take: disability doesn't work the same way as queerness. I mainly mean this when ppl treat disorders like queer labels, and when ppl say they are “in the closet” abt their disability. the ppl that say that shit the most are ppl who have the privilege of “not looking disabled”. idk who needs to hear this but YOU CANT CLOSET YOUR DISABILITY. ppl r still gonna be able to tell that someone is “wrong with you” when if they cant tell your disabled.
-sincerely a person with medium support needs who is seeing this shit yall low support needs ppl are saying and going “?” everytime i see it.
