Snippet of 5th division Takemichi!
This is just a little drabble, like a snippet on a story that for know I only have notes about but I'll write someday. I just have 2 oneshots and one chapter to finish for starting with the wips that are just pages of notes for now, yuhu!
(promising this to myself)
I read a fic a few months ago with this idea and well, it was hilarious and I started thinking in what type of AU this could work, one trying to also save everyone and go to the plot of the different arcs. Did I say before thatt Tokyo Revengers is my Roman Empire? I wasn't joking. The other wip I have is time-leaper Manila Izana going through tenjiku arc. Fix it fics that, like canon, will be heavy on the angst but with happy ending (yes, me, doing happy endings, I know but did I say it will be heavy on the angst? Because the Izana one... He needs to learn a lot, oopsie)
For understanding the drabble, a few basics:
It's based on an AU where Takemichi jumps to the day when he met Mikey after shaking hands with him in Bonten. And let's pretend our dear Michi actually catched up Sanzu's name and was thinking in something more than Mikey for a second, okay?
Things happened and after saving Draken he asked to be put in the 5th division because reasons (Sanzu, knowing that Mucho is a traitor, knowing that well, he knows a lot about conspiracies that will happen in Toman so maybe this is not such a bad idea even if he's scared of his captain and vice-captain, right?)
A lot of things will happened for get to this point, but after some months of Sanzu knowing about Takemichi being a time-leaper, he finally opens up with the truth about tl0 (yes, he's a little shit and doesn't say anything for months but he has trusting issues, okay? Let him alone xD). Obviously, there will be chapters with Sanzu's POV, for plot reasons (not because I love writting his mental breakdowns, nops).
So... I think that's it. Ah, this conversation is happening in some point of Tenjiku arc, I'm still deciding what to do with this arc, but Takemichi changed enough things. So Mucho goes to Tenjiku alone and now Sanzu is the captain of the 5th division. With Takemichi as a vice-captain, poor crybaby.
Warnings: NONE! I almost don't believe it myself, but this is just comfort. Because it's a small scene that came to my mind and made me smile and I'm having a soft day, so I thought, why not write it?
(he's so pretty and I'm so normal about it, yeps)
At this point, Takemichi already learned a few things about his captain and how to tell the subtle changes on his expressions. He was sure Sanzu hided even more under the mask, but it wasn't that easy to see him without it. So he could see that the other boy was more absent, that his eyes weren't really looking at anything. And Takemichi had a hunch about the reason, he was just trying to find a way to talk about it without getting punch. Or worse, to be honest sometimes he still find the scarred boy a little too unpredictable.
“You know, some days when I wake up, I'm not even sure what time line is it. And I'm always afraid to discover the truth, to discover I fucked up and went back to Manila. Or Bonten.”
Some days, he still feels Mikey's body getting cold on his hands. Or see him getting pale with Emma doing the same. Dead inside in the hospital, the same empty eyes Takemichi saw in that abandoned bowling-alley. But that's an image the other doesn't need, the scarred boy has his own nightmares with Mikey on it. Absolute void in those darks eyes, more than he's able to imagine.
Sanzu gives him a weird look that already feels like a victory, he's looking at him. That's something, right?
“For what you said, I'm sure that Bonten wasn't that bad.” The pinkette snickers. “But, yeah... I get what you mean. It's like anything feels...real.”
The last part is almost like a whisper, like he was afraid of confessing it.
“Exactly.” The blonde smiles brightly, he knows he shouldn't be this easy to read, but he can't really avoid it. “It feels nice to have some one to talk about it that actually understands. With the rest of people that known before, I was always afraid they'll start thinking I was going crazy for saying this type of stuff.”
Aquamarine pair of eyes wide with the last words, like he suddenly understood what his vice-captain was trying to do. What he did, actually.
“I still hate you. Don't start thinking we're friends or some shit like that.”
It sounds almost like a bark, but Takemichi knows better after the last months. So he just laughs, happy with being able to cross another one of his captain walls. He promised to both of them, that he'll save him too.
And he will. Because this time, he'll save everyone. This time, he actually understands what is happening with Mikey.
So he'll save everyones asses, even the ones that don't want to be saved. Specially that ones.

Ran knows something is wrong.
There's a certain stillness in the air when you come home today and he- ever the observant one- notices it the minute you demurely shuffle into the house.
He's used to the clatter, the hustle and bustle of bags and shoes, your keys with too many keychains, a loud thump as you throw your coat over the arm of the sofa and drop your handbag and boots to the floor, a weighted and audible 'i'm back!' that he looks forward to every day.
He thinks he's used to your footfall by now, soft on the stairs as you make to the bedroom and toss your clothes to the bed, half on and half off and just as messy because you always have been like that, accessories piled on the dresser for later and headphones tossed onto the laptop on the desk. Here you are now, quiet still though, and heading straight for the en suite to wash your face and Ran pokes his head around the bedroom door to watch you kick off a skirt and trudge to the bathroom.
He follows easily, quietly, a fox stalking a rabbit, picking up your clothes and piling them on the chair before he leans on the bathroom door and watches you wash your face before pressing your palms to your eyes, holding them there as the water drips and slides along your chin with a plink against the white porcelain sink.
'Princess?' he says and breaks the silence, his baggy shirt falling over one shoulder, arms crossed over his chest and his head tilted in concern as you lean against the sink, close enough for you to catch the faint watery puff of redness under your eyes in the mirror now fogging up with your shaky breath. 'You good?'
You avoid him like you always do, because you hate that he sees through you so easily sometimes, that he's smart and clever and you wish he wasn't so when you put up enough walls for him to have to fight them down. So you shrug and turn away towards the cabinet to put your soap back, to rearrange things uselessly just so you can avoid turning back to him again, the outline of you stiff in a loose shirt of his.
You sense him move and a part of you quails because you know he is nothing if not persistent and maybe that's what it is, years and years of having to grow up too quickly, of constantly having to be more than enough for others that has changed and matured him in ways he shouldn't have to be, but that exist anyway. You wonder absent-mindedly sometimes, in the lower moments whether it all comes from Rindou, from Sanzu even. All the lessons learned in how to parent by himself because Rindou needed a father and a brother both and Ran always steps up.
His shadow looms behind you and you stiffen when he runs his hands along your sides, to your shoulders where he presses his palms, a smooth and reassuring pressure along your shoulder blades and back, running to your neck and down again, a tug that has your back hitting his chest and his head resting against yours.
'Bad day?' he says, his breath a whisper against your ear, warmth tickling the faint hairs on the nape of your neck as his hands come around to your stomach where they rest against the hem of your sweatpants.
'Maybe,' you say, non-committal and tense still, refusing to show it, refusing to lean into him because it burns you somewhere inside that he gives himself to you so freely and that you have an issue accepting it anyway, that it's a weakness to let yourself be cared for by him in the way he is so eager to give so often. You fall back on this a lot, the same thoughts, the same reasonings, the same love you wish was easier to accept from someone who wants to give it.
He hums with a press of his lips to your temple. 'Yeah, me too. Total shitshow today.'
'You okay?' you turn to him then, quickly, a bunny ensnared in the trap he has so easily lain, all pretense forgotten and he clicks his tongue at it all.
'See I knew you'd do that.'
'Do what?'
'You do it a lot. Forget about yourself if you think someone else needs you more.'
A chill runs along your spine, tickling the base of your neck. 'Because it's true and I don't like talking about it.'
'It's not.'
'Not what?'
'True,' he says, his hands now skimming over your arms, settling on your hips that he pulls to bump gently against his own, thumbs grazing the soft flesh that slivers between the shirt and the hem of your sweatpants. 'None of it. There's nothing noble in constantly ignoring yourself, not when you need care too.'
Something stirs in your throat, tears unbidden and swallowed, a twitch of your eyebrows that has your ears ringing and you hate him, hate that it must feel easy to him to peel you back like this, as if all the time you've spent carefully curating yourself doesn't mean anything.
'I don't,' you say, stubborn as ever and shaking your head, a forceful willingness to push the hurt and ache down, to quell the tears that he brings so freely. 'I don't need anything, and nothing is wrong.'
He raises an eyebrow at you then, a lift of his chin and a slow shake of his head, purpling strands of silky hair curling over his forehead and it makes him look boyishly handsome, beautiful and open and endearing and honest and you would kiss him till he knew and believed if you could.
'Don't,' he says. 'Don't do that. We don't do that Princess, you know we don't.'
You look away then, escaping from the heat of his stare, all knowing and terrifying and direct, the flash of lilac and lavender that sees through your tough skin, your tough and stubborn exterior. 'I don't know what you're talking about.'
He lifts a finger, holds your chin between that and his thumb, smooth circles from left to right and so soft, so reassuring, even now when you're convinced he must be annoyed, must be bothered by the bother of you. 'We don't do that Doll. We don't be mad and then not talk about why and expect the other to magically know, and then get angry at them when they don't. So tell me what's wrong yeah?'
You mumble, a slip of words that crumble at the end, the weight of all his softness, all the learning, all the reassuring gathering with the tears at the back of your throat. 'You're not upset at me? You don't think I'm bothering you?'
You like when he smiles. Just as he's about to. You like it even more when he holds the back of your head and tucks you against his chest like so, your voice muffled by the cotton, by the warmth and constancy of him, his heart beating against your cheek, a steady tap that melts into the rhythmic circles drawn against your back. He leans his head against yours, lips caught on your hair, the vibration of his deep and sultry voice reverberating in your chest.
'Did I ever say I was?'
'No, no you didn't.'
'Then don't you think it's unfair to assume that I am Princess? Make my decisions for me?'
You clamp your lips shut, opting instead to lift your arms around his back, press him into you, curl around him as a cat would, soft muscle and fine bones that make him so real and so tangible under your touch, that you could spend hours marveling over alone. 'Just dumb that's all. I had a shitty day and my coffee press broke and I got wet in the rain and I'm tired.'
'Mhm, go on.'
'And I'm angry and want a bath and I feel bad for complaining when it's not that bad in the grand scheme of things y'know?'
'Mhmm who said though? Who said it's not that bad? It's relative don't you think? Bad shit is bad shit, I wouldn't ever expect you to be happy with it.'
'I...I don't like needing things, you know this.' You turn your cheek, lay it flat against his chest, the tap and boom of his heart thrumming against your ear.
'I like needy Princess, I like being there.'
You hate him, you love him, you wish it were easier to undo all the old lessons beaten into you, especially when you know he's so eager to please, so eager to be needed by you, so eager to give if only you'd accept it. You wonder how it happened. How a man with one family member, who has seen enough death for a lifetime can hold you like this- gently- soft, fingers that move deftly across your skin, a feather touch to your spine, to your chest, to your hips that he lightly squeezes at, pulling the hurt from you with every press of his lips to your hair.
'Sorry.'
'No need Princess, nothing to be sorry for. Now how about that bath?' and he pulls you back, tears soaked into his shirt for him to toss later, the effort of his love shining through when you give him a watery and shaky smile, the edges of your eyes still puffy and red rimmed but calmer now, holding his hands against your cheeks.
It never hurts and he never gets tired and you wish you were able to talk about it more. That you think he has fixed some part of you left dormant, left broken, and even if he hasn't, you can admit his hands feel good, feel nice when he runs them across your skin, and across every painted and embellished scar.
As if he doesn't see the multitudes of jagged edges, as if he loves them anyway. He does.
reblogs appreciated!
I had a terrible day and needed to make myself feel better lol

Hi hi!! Hope you’re doing well, I love your writing! I was wondering if you could do some hc on how ran, Rindou, sanzu, Baji, and Kazutora would react if they had a crush on a shy girl, so they always stare at her, but she thinks they’re glaring and gets scared?
Ok! Here are some hc's on them staring at a shy girl and accidentally scaring her because she thinks they're glaring. Put the timelines next to the names, also tw for kidnap on Sanzu's.
Ran (good timeline)
He really wasn't expecting to ever get caught staring at you, so the first time you suddenly turned and your eyes met his, he was caught off guard. He quickly recovered giving you a lazy smile though, and so the same thing continued everytime you caught him. Ran thought he was being charming and playful.....he never figured the stares would come off differently or that you would see his smiles as something sinister.
He doesn't understand why you always seem in such a hurry to get away from him. Were you not interested in him? Or is this part of the game?
Eventually he manages to trap you, standing between you and the door, grinning at you like a cat who just caught the mouse. Slamming his hand on the wall, next to your head, he leans in, intending on finally flirting with you verbally.
Only for him to suddenly notice your scared expression and realise that he's scaring you
Immediately backs off with his hands in the air, trying to show you he means you no harm. Explains the situation to you and actually apologises for scaring you.
He's mainly just surprised and a little embarrassed that he didn't realise earlier.
Rindou (good timeline)
Doesn't even notice notice he was staring at you at first, he's liked you for the longest time now and his gaze is just always wandering over to you unintentionally. He daydreams a lot while looking at you.
Anytime you turn to peek at him and your eyes meet, he tends to look away just as quickly as you. He hasn't quite figured out how he wants to approach you yet.
Eventually, he tries to talk to you but gets confused by your expression and by how you seem to practically run away anytime he gets close.
Actually assumes it's because you know his reputation as one of the Haitani brother's instead of it being because of the staring. So he tries to lay low a bit gang wise but the staring still continues.
Until one day, when you try to run off he calls your name and catches your wrist. He explains that he knows you're scared of him but that he won't ever hurt you and that you don't have to be scared because of the gangs. You look at him with a confused look for a moment before asking "so you don't hate me?". Rindou is very confused and also embarrassed as you explain the staring thing.
Sanzu (Bonten, tw: kidnap)
He's aware that you're scared straight away but it doesn't bother him. He's always observing people so has gotten good with knowing their thoughts and emotions, and picks up on yours immediately.
Sanzu's a bit different to the others though, since he never plans on actually having a relationship with you. Sure he's interested but Mikey is his king and the only one he allows himself to spend time on, he has to be his number one priority. So there's no time for a relationship, you're just a passing fantasy so it doesn't matter what you think of him.
He was wrong though, months go by and he's still interested in you. You won't leave his head, the staring intensifies.
Eventually he gives up, guess he has no choice but to approach you. He can probably make it work between you and serving Mikey too anyway. Besides he's no good to Mikey or bonten when he's all distracted like this.
You're walking home alone and don't see him till it's too late, one second you're walking and the next you're being pulled into an unknown car and being injected with something. Sanzu strokes your hair as your head rests on his lap, you were right to be scared of him.
Baji (good timeline)
He's in complete denial that he's even staring at you, Chifuyu and Kazutora both pick up on it and question him but Baji always denies it, getting defensive about how he definitely wasn't staring at you.
He hates how quickly you always leave, always rushing out of the pet shop whenever you see him. He wants to see you for longer, so wishes you would browse more like the other customers. Especially after he finds out that you happily stay longer and even chat with Kazutora and Chifuyu when he's not there.
This goes on for months, Baji staring at you longingly anytime you came in and you seeing his frustrated look, assuming he's angry at you and leaving quickly with your purchases.
Of course Kazutora and Chifuyu are the ones who have to step in. Making up some excuse about both of them being sick one day, so Baji would have to cover the shop alone for them. Meaning you and Baji would have to interact at the till.
Baji watches you as you casually walk into the shop, only to freeze when your eyes lock with his. You gulp and glance around before realising he's the only one there today, your only choice for buying your items.
You had hoped he wouldn't say anything to you but instead Baji immediately asks if you have a problem with him. He was never one for subtly after all. "I thought you had a problem with me?" You both end up surprised and clearing the matter up. Baji does have to deal with Kazutora and Chifuyu's teasing after though.
Kazutora (bad toman timeline)
You were being harassed by toman the first time he saw you, so of course he jumped in, beating them up to protect you. Toman shouldn't be hurting random girls. After he'd finished he was about to walk away when he heard the quiet "thank you" and realised you were offering him some tissues for his own injuries from the fight. You ran off after that, before Kazutora could offer to walk you home or even just ask if you were ok.
He figured he'd never see you again but then he did, just by chance. After that the two of you bumped into each other often, with him always staring after you. He wanted to say thanks for the tissues and get to know you more, he wanted you. You seemed so sweet, no girl had ever stuck around after a fight and offered him something to help before.
You thought he was mad at you because he had to beat up those guys or maybe he expected some kind of payment for doing that? He definitely seemed to be glaring at you...
It didn't take long for him to sense how uncomfortable you were with him around. It hurt him a lot, he assumed you were scared of him because you saw what he did to those guys.
He backed off immediately, stopped going to the areas where you were. After all he had an important job to do with Chifuyu, no time for romance. But it still made his heart ache.

Inciting Incidents
Featuring: Keisuke Baji, Nahoya Kawata, Shuji Hanma, Sanzu Haruchiyo
Genre: Very dramatic, very "Worldstar"
Synopsis: Fuck Around and Find Out
Damn him if he hadn't seen the way this other girl was trying to one up you. She was always trying to cling to him and the others, talking louder than you, interrupting you, and trying to keep the attention on herself. Keisuke hated when the girl would invite herself to a captains meeting. Sure, you went, but that's because the other captains and even the commander and vice commander liked you and valued your opinion. No one had any idea who this girl was, just that she showed up one day with Emma and never. Fucking. Left.
Keisuke stood at the head of his division, Chifuyu just behind him, with you standing very still in front of him. His arms wrapped firmly around your neck, with your hands hanging from his wrists, giving him the perfect opportunity to whisper in your ear. "That girl is here again." Keisuke grumbled, his chin on your shoulder.
"Okay?" You whispered back, "Why is that our concern?"
He shrugged, "I've noticed she thinks she can talk over you."
The way you giggled made him curious. Did you truly not care to notice? "Take it easy, Keisuke. So what she wants attention?" You looked up at him.
He rolled his eyes, "She hangs off all of us. Me included."
A sly grin covered his face as you tensed. Now he was going to burrow deep and make you angry. "She's very vocal when you're around. Like she wants to be more important than you. Apparently, so I've heard, she thinks she can get all our attention and we'll fall for her."
Your chest filled and deflated slowly, Keisuke knew he had you.
"She talks over you so-"
"Enough, Keisuke." You cut him off, your eyes glaring over to where the girl and Emma were sat, "I've heard enough."
For everything you were, you were not patient.
Everyone went silent as you walked across the courtyard of the shrine to the two girls, placing your hands on your hips as you stood before the problem.
"Uhh, can I...help you?" She raised an eyebrow at you.
No one moved as you smiled. They knew that smile, and it was a bad omen. "No. But, let me help you." You said it so sweetly, as if you were going to fix her hair so she could impress someone, "Enough trying to be seen. No one here is impressed and no one here cares. You're annoying and rude."
She spat back at you, going on some rant you didn't care to listen to. You didn't want to yank her around by her hair, but damn if your hands weren't itching to have the strands clenched in them. It was when she called you yesterdays whore that you finally gave in, curling your fingers in her hair and jerking her from the bench.
It was a shrine after all, so you had to take her down to the parking lot.
The captains, vice captains, commander, vice commander, and Emma followed you down the steps. She was thrashing around, you being the only thing keeping her from falling, "Stop whining. You asked for this."
It wasn't a day for you unless Nahoya had slammed somebodies septum into their brain. And so far, he was seeming pretty calm.
"Hoya, are you okay?" You looked up at him, his usual smile plastered on perfectly. Nahoya looked down at you, "Of course. Why wouldn't I be?"
Truly, you had no response. If you said he was acting strange because he hadn't busted a guy up, he'd pick some rando walking by. Definitely something you wanted to avoid. Instead, you shrugged and continued to walk in silence with him.
It was nice to see him so calm and quiet, a juxtaposition from his usual demeanor. Souya would never believe you.
"Take a picture with me!" You pulled out your phone, flipping it open and clicking on the camera. Nahoya took the device, strapping you to his side and clicking a quick picture of you both smiling, "There, babe. Why, though?"
"Just wanted a picture of us." You leaned into him as you walked, discretely sending the photo to Souya. Nahoya hummed, leading you carefully to keep you from bumping into anything.
Until some dude decided it would be a good idea to shoulder check you, making you drop your phone. Nahoya's smile dropped, "Excuse you."
Shit.
Nahoya managed to clear a clean fifty foot radius as he dragged the guy all around. By the time your boyfriend felt the guy had enough the poor sod had a black eye, busted lip, a gash in his cheek, and a broken nose. Seeing him fight always made you a little shaky, adrenaline wasn't your thing.
"Excuse your bitch."
Double Shit.
"Alrighty!" Nahoya wiped a small splatter of blood from his cheek, "Let's go!"
Hanma was already having a shitty day. There was nothing for him to do after ditching school, and you weren't on board with leaving class to hang out with him. So, he did the only thing he could do. Hanma showed up to your class.
Your teacher paused his lecture as a commotion was heard just outside the door, but you knew whose laughter was drilling through the door. "Y/n, isn't that your boyfriend?" The girl next to you whispered. You wanted to disappear into the ground, and wished for death the second Hanma threw the door open.
Naturally, your teacher went to keep this random boy from entering the class. "Excuse me, young man, I'm conducting a lecture right now." He was a kind man, he'd have more luck with the soft tone, but this is Hanma we're talking about. You saw the way his eyes went from shining to bored all over again, but when he saw that your teacher was shorter than him, that familiar glint returned.
"See you after school!" You hissed to the girl beside you, jerking your bag from the floor and rushing forward.
"Baby! There ya' are!" Hanma hugged you tightly when you were close enough, "Wanna go for a ride? Me and you?"
It gave Sanzu a sense of superiority to have you in his lap at his little meeting, the most trusted of his division sat around him. He'd picked out your outfit that morning, the shorts and tank top allowing him to see as much of your body as he wants as you scrolled through whatever apps on your phone. Sanzu wasn't too concerned about what you were doing, he could see it and your facial expressions gave away whatever you were thinking.
"Sanzu, sir?" One of his men cleared their throat, pulling his attention away from you, "I hate to interrupt your moment, but this meeting is very important..."
The man was silenced by the glare Sanzu sent to him, "Then speak about the meeting. You should already know I've been listening."
And he had been, he was extremely aware of the shipments he was going to be getting and when. Sanzu kept up with all of it outside of these ridiculous meetings, he didn't want to waste time if there was something getting stolen or a truck was going to be late. After all, he had to make sure things ran smoothly for Mikey.
"My darling." Sanzu relaxed, "Tell this moron what's been discussed so far."
Without looking up from your phone, you droned on, "Three shipments arrived in Shibuya at three in the evening, two of six arrived in Tenjiku and it's suspected the other four are being delayed due to tracking issues. Two men were caught in Musashi with seven pounds of the shipment, and they were promptly disposed of." Then you mocked the man, "Sanzu, sir, this is a very important meeting."
The man, the one you'd mocked, stood abruptly, "No woman-"
Sanzu stood and settled you in his seat, "Rest easy, my darling. Don't look up."
The only time Sanzu "The Mad Dog of Bonten" Haruchiyo was calm, was when you were involved. He swore to himself that you would never see him go crazy, and he'd always kept to it, and he knew you would listen to whatever he said. None of the other men moved as he slammed the older guy against the wall, "Finish your sentence. Now. No woman..."
"No woman should speak up like that..." The man was practically pissing himself as Sanzu's grin spread. Two hits in and he was already spitting out teeth, but Sanzu didn't stop until the man was unconscious.
"Darling, what's our rule?" He asked, not turning to you. He didn't have to, he knew you kept your eyes on the phone.
You chuckled, "I'm free to speak as long as I don't interrupt you."
"Good girl."

wait wait wait this is a GREAT idea for angst
it’s also a great idea for hurt/(slight) comfort if you’re delusional enough (like me, for example)
fuck. now i want to write this.
the amount of brainrot i’ve been producing about sanzu’s & takeomi’s relationship (mostly in the bonten timeline) is insane what is this 😭
#i MIGHT write it if enough motivation#honestly the fact that takeomi feels he can’t lose sanzu too?? very realistic#i like to imagine him a little very hateful but realistically he still loves sanzu after everything and would like to have a.. less bad+#relationship with him#sanzu on the other hand? if takeomi acts smart and patient enough maybe#he needs to give him a lot of time though. and actions that show that he truly is sorry and wants to have a better relationship now#possibly even make up for his past mistakes#sanzu wouldn’t run to him with open arms but he might slowly warm up to him. less yelling less purposefully ignoring#just peacefully existing in the same room. that’s how it starts#maybe have a heart-felt talk while on too many substances (coping mechanism sanzu style..)#it’s a hard and difficult journey but i believe it’s realistic enough actually#sanzu#takeomi#tokrev#☆—`elys rambles

Final Timeline Headcanons pt 2
Here's a continuation of my headcanons for the final timeline 💕
Manga spoilers below -
Part one Part three
︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
The Haitani brothers and the Kawata twins have a love-hate friendship. Nahoya bickers with them while Souya is more relaxed. They spend time with each other outside of Toman meetings at restaurants. The Haitanis invite them to parties sometimes.
Yumi and Pah have a very wholesome and soft relationship. They didn't put a label on their relationship in the beginning, people already assumed they were a couple. It was like that until Pah was asked about it by his close friends. He formally asked Yumi to be his girlfriend after that.
Yasuda is the one that asks out Peh-Yan. Mitsuya knew they liked each other all along and both of them confided in him before they started a relationship. Yasuda becomes protective of Peh in a 'tsudnere' way. Peh-yan doesn't admit it all the time, but he likes doing cliche relationship things with her.
If Takemichi and Hina were to ever have kids, they would all look exactly like Takemichi. Hina often teases him that he cries more than their kids when they were babies, which is true.
The Sano house became a popular spot for sleepovers when everyone was really young. Shinichiro made sure to have enough sleeping bags for Mikey, Takemichi, Sanzu, Baji, Izana and Kakucho. Senju and Emma would have their own sleepover and often had to kick Mikey out when he came to steal their snacks.
Since Ryusei is canon to the story, I think he would come by Peke J land a lot in the future. Mostly to annoy Chifuyu on purpose.
When Draken and Emma have their kid, all the ex-toman members become very protective of them. Mitsuya personally makes clothes for their child that aren't in his brand. The baby refers to Mitsuya as an uncle sometimes. Hina also becomes very close with their baby too. She volunteers to take care of them when Draken and Emma go on dates. Their baby refers to her as an aunt sometimes too.
I think Emma may have confessed to Draken first. She was getting anxious about how he felt about her, so Takemichi and Hina convinced her it would all work out just fine.
When Draken and Emma started dating, her brothers all reacted differently. Mikey was finally relieved the secret was out, Shinichiro was very happy Emma was with someone he knew would be good for her, and Izana became a bit protective of her and kind of threatened Draken if he were to hurt her, which he obviously never would.
Thousand Winters still forms after Toman disbands. Their reactions are all pretty much the same. They've got a photo album with pictures they all took in the t-shirts. However, it took a lot of convincing for Inui to be in the pictures.
Sanzu and Senju often wear clothing that closely matches with one another. They have their own sense of style, but sometimes it blends together and they wear similar things.
Luna and Mana are still very close with Taiju. He picks them up from school a lot and takes them to amusement parks and stuff. However, he doesn't like to admit he enjoys it even though everyone else knows he does. Yuzuha and Hakkai have dozens of photos where he's dressed in costumes or wearing cosmetics when Luna and Mana ask him too. When they're older, they sometimes still call him 'Tai' (the nickname they used in the birthday illustration).
Taiju is good at cooking, but he sucks at baking like the epilogue mentioned. He does thinks like burn chocolate, doesn't use enough flower or even squeezes piping bags too hard, causing them to explode.
Yuzuha is an older sister figure to Luna and Mana. She takes them shopping for clothes, teaches them how to put on makeup when they're older and watches over them while they grow up.

ADDICTION
|| the second entry for the series “𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 𝐖𝐄 𝐃𝐎 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄”
content warnings ─── bonten! sanzu, murder, talks about torture, noncon, implied kidnapping, drugs , dark themes, yandere themes
ᝰ synopsis.ᐟ when colored pills doesn't give him the high he needed, sanzu finds a new addiction, it's better than ecstasies.
the gunshot seem to frighten you. i apologize for that. in line of my "business" it is my job to keep the empire mikey had built to flourish. these traitors are not the worth of the name bonten and those who are without use should perish.
it's also to serve a warning to you. never run away from me.
i have no intention of harming you, let alone scare you. it's only a reminder that you can never escape from me, even you run to the ends of the world, i will follow you.
shed the blood of those who dares to look at you. serve their head in a platter. cut every finger who dares to lay their hands on you. rip their limbs apart one by one and not even death could escape their fate from my hands.
why are you crying? you don't like that? silly girl. it's a punishment for them who can't understand that you belong to me. what? can you repeat that? you don't want me nor anything of this?
you got no choice. you've bewitched me. got me high of my feelings that i didn't know i was capable of doing so. you've made me addicted to the sensation of your skin in mine. your voice like bells in my ears. no drugs could make me feel like the way you do.
you're the most potent drug that i could take. intoxicating me with your light that flows in my veins and gives me euphoria reaching in my brain. you're the medicine in my pain.
sometimes you're also the cause of the aches in my body. you never really learn do you? what got you shaking? the body drops as i pull the trigger on his head. blood pooling at those empty head of this incompetent fool to never let you out of sight when i'm dealing with mikey.
this is a warning. don't test me. although, i vowed myself to never harm you—you need to be taught a lesson. nobody messes with me, no one.
ssh. don't cry. this is all your fault. you're going to take whatever i give to you. fuck! i might lose control of myself whenever those tiny whimpers leave your mouth as i pressed my lips to your heated skin. be a good girl. all i want for you is to submit to me.
tears won't work on me darling, i've seen plenty of it. from the men who for me to spare their useless lives with a gun in my hand. it would be no different to you. you're mine to begin with. i own you.
a blissful sigh escaping from my lips as i inhale your scent. such beautiful hair you have. such bounty you have for yourself and it's mine to exploit.
the straps of your nightgown falling down to your round shoulders the more my lips move to feel of your skin. this would be your life with me as i clothe you with the most luxurious clothes i can provide for you. money ain't a problem for me. i have lots of them.
your body trembles as i touch you. i won't harm you, i told you. think of this as a lesson while you think of escaping me again. there's no escape in my grasps. as much i hate to force you, this is your punishment for making me angry. if you weren't my precious little things—i would have killed you.
we won't like that don't we? stay still. it would be easy for me to take you or else it would hurt. never been a problem for me to put down people like you.
that's it. you weren't that stubborn when i'm putting you in your place. that's right. the sight of you sinking in the sheets with your hands gripping the sheet while you brace yourself for me to take you. your plump ass raised to serve me.
eyes rolling as i sink to your warm pussy. engulfing me in such warmth that got me hooked, wishing forever to be inside you and now we are as one. connected to fulfill our desires and to feed my addiction.
i hope you learned your lesson with this one or else i'll be doing it until it get through your thick skin. i won't get tired of it nor will i ever stop.
this is what addiction to you feels like. a neverending rush of euphoria.

𝐖𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐒 [𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐀𝐌𝐏𝐄𝐃] SEVEN
pairing. ex!ran x fem!reader
word count. 9.6k
series synopsis. bonten is forming and in the midst of it all, you find yourself caught in the sticky webs of your ex boyfriend and current bonten executive, haitani ran.
content. buckle up guys, there's a LOT. detailed drug descriptions gun play; shion puts a gun to rans head, TW FOR DRUGS!!!! reader does drugs, sanzu injects drugs like a lunatic, mentioned whorehouse, gambling, sanzu and mochi talk badly about women so tw objectification.
a/n: really decided to amp up the plot in this hope you guys enjoy forreal. some shion backstory + dona too and at the end there's a special cameo at the end HEHEHEHEHEE. oh and please pls pls read the content warning above before reading, ik some ppl arent comfortable with drug mentions or guns in stories so i dont want to make anyone uncomforable ://
Shion’s eyes kept darting towards the clock by his bedside table every five seconds to see if he was reading the time correctly or not.
It’s almost midnight and you disappeared almost seven hours ago with his car, shrugging on your jacket and thanking him with a kiss on the cheek—not even the lips—for letting you borrow his car.
He wanted to ask where you were going but briskly bit down on his tongue, choosing on trusting you instead.
In all honesty he had no clue where you were going, and he doesn’t mean this to sound offensive in the slightest but you don’t have friends to run to, so the curiosity in him peaked.
He didn’t want to appear as controlling and wanting to know your every single move, an attribute he knows fully well you hate in a partner.
From years of knowing you, from growing up together to your teenage years, he’s seen the boys you dated and how they were clingy and wanted you all to themselves. He’s seen them slowly break any resilience you have and left you broken and crying.
It’s a pretty sadistic thing to admit that he liked seeing you stumble over to his house, eyes thick with tears and crying on his shoulder, nodding through quiet whimpers and mumbles as he told you that he’d always be there for you. It’s something that’d been programmed into you since you first got your heart broken at fourteen, the mindset having grown with you even through adulthood.
Shion first found out he loved you when you both were thirteen and when he got arrested and sent to juvie, you were the only one in his life that cared enough to visit him and send him letters every other week.
His mother gave up on him after he broke each one of her warnings. He could still remember her telling him firmly if he continues down this violent path and gets himself caught, he shouldn’t dare coming back home.
Maybe he went a little too far when he was caught smuggling cocaine under his jacket by a police officer and got himself locked up in juvie.
But if you were to ask him if he regretted it, he’d tell you fuck no.
Those times in juvie were the best part of his life; he met Izana, a legend in his eyes, even in death he still honours and respects him. He also met his ex best friends and former gang mates, most of them now known as Bonten.
He met Ran, someone who Shion found himself jealous of for how strong he was, how charismatic he was, how much of a smooth talker he was.
It’s like Ran was built for this lifestyle whilst Shion had to nudge his way in through the tiny doors. He used to stutter when confronted and had to learn to smooth talk his way out of situations.
At only thirteen, Ran was able to not only talk himself out of any situation, but do it efficiently enough without ease and not even sweating one bit.
He loved Ran as a friend, but as a person? He was jealous. Everything that he wanted to be, Ran was.
Shion had to teach himself how to fight and would lose most of the time and make a fool of himself. Whilst Ran would look so bored and uninterested, barely putting in the effort and still would come out on top.
There was an incident when a fight broke out in juvie, everyone was jumping each other just because of the sake of it. Izana was the strongest, taking out over twenty boys his age, Ran was next, finding creative ways to beat them up with objects like kicking a chair till a leg fell off, then whacking them with the object until it was recoloured with their blood.
“You can’t do that! That’s cheating!” Shion had to direct his voice up at the taller boy.
Ran, standing at 5’10 at the age of thirteen, looked down at Shion. The first thing Ran noticed was how his fists were bloody, then he slowly trailed his eyes upwards to his face where the real brunt of the damage was. His eye was black, nose soaked with his own blood and lip on the verge of swollen.
“Cheating?” Ran questioned, looking down at his hand. “You mean this?”
“Yeah! You can’t use weapons. That’s cheating.”
Ran cocked his head to the side. “Says who?”
Shion had to think for a moment. “...the rules?”
“The rules of what? Who made those rules up?”
“Delinquents! Obviously! It’s just common sense!” Shion felt like his mind was boggled. He thought back to all the delinquent manga stacked up in his room, how he aspired to be like them and saw them beating people with their bare fists.
“What do you know about delinquents?” Ran asked back, shifting his weight onto his foot. He placed his hand on his hip, the bloody chair leg swinging backwards, almost stomaching a poor boy walking past.
Shion took a mental note of his calm, placid nature and was genuinely confused. Anyone that studied up on delinquent manga would know that you have to always use your fists, be the loudest, rudest person in the room, always looking for a fight. Yet the boy in front of him right now looked like he was on the verge of sleep yet still managed to beat up ten times more guys than Shion could. Shion seemed happy with his two bodies, then looked over and saw Ran with at least eight, underneath some of those laying on the floor groaning in pain were probably a few more bodies.
“...from manga,” Shion admitted sheepishly, looking down at the floor. Now that he thinks about it, his answer was pretty childish. Ran’s eyebrows rose in a moment of surprise before bursting out into laughter, the sound grating Shion’s ears. “Oh shut up! You think you’re so tough huh?! Fight me without that thing!” He pointed to the chair leg.
Ran finally stopped cackling and dramatically wiped a tear from his eye. He looked down at Shion who was much shorter than him, probably standing around 5’6 and hummed in thought, the sound smooth and sweet yet the chill it sent down Shion’s spine was the total opposite.
“Okay.” Ran shrugged and tossed the chair leg across the room. It clattered against the wall with a loud crash and Shion snapped his head over to see where it landed. In an instant, Shion was on the floor, tackled underneath Ran as he forced Shion’s hands together, pinning him down. Shion struggled and tried to wriggle out of his grip but it was like iron. No, iron is an understatement. Those strong enough could bend iron. It was like diamond.
Shion realised how much weaker he was compared to him and almost started crying from sheer frustration and embarrassment. He’d never seen the delinquents in his manga get absolutely violated like this. Ran’s hand rose up, clenched into a fist and flew downwards to Shion’s face. Shion squeezed his eye shut, ready for the brunt of the hit, but it never came.
His arms suddenly felt a whole lot lighter and he slowly opened his eyes, watching Ran stand up and dust himself off. “You’re too weak for me. It’s not gonna be enjoyable.” He stretched those long limbs of his reaching up towards the ceiling and cracked his back with a few more stretches.
“Wha—” Shion spluttered, shaking his head like a dog to clear his head. “Where’re you going?”
“To shower. I stink.”
“But we didn’t finish! You can’t just leave a fight half way!” he yelled at Ran’s retreating back as he walked out of the cafeteria hall, leaving Shion there alone.
After juvie, the six of them left together and formed a new generation, S-62, doing heinous activities such as drug trafficking and making connections to expand their assets. You, of course, were still waiting for him like you promised. But slowly, the more involved he got, the less and less time he saw you. The two of you didn’t go full ghost on each other, but you were focusing on your own personal life and school, he was focusing on his own thing.
You met Ran when Shion invited you to one of his parties since he missed you and to this day he regrets ever letting you meet him. Not only did you fall for Ran’s charm, he practically brainwashed you, drew you in with his words, his voice, his everything that Shion lacked.
Eventually Ran became the shoulder that you went to cry on instead.
Your relationship with Ran was constantly filled with ups and downs; the ups preceding the downs by a mile.
Ran made you feel good and you became addicted to that feeling, so much so that without, you felt like nothing.
Literally nothing.
During your fights it became an unhealthy habit to avoid Dona and Mira whenever they asked you to hang out because you wanted to wallow by yourself in peace.
You’d lay on your bed, curled up all day, checking your phone and going through your messages with him, sometimes catching him online and fight the urge to send him a text.
Mira and Dona were your best friends and you loved them, but they never gave you that feeling that Ran gave you.
He was like a drug, and though you’d never done drugs, you felt like an addict. Couldn’t go a day without thinking about him and what he was doing.
You slowly didn’t like the person you were turning into, the girl that abandoned her friends and family because she was depressed and needed that boost of serotonin that only Ran could provide.
Perhaps Ran was that male figure you so desperately craved for in life that when he left you just spiralled.
Shion still has no clue on why you were spiralling so badly. You never told him anything, such an unhealthy habit of yours to keep your feelings bottled in, then once the pot overflowed it became too overwhelming and you exploded.
Maybe when you get back with his car, he’ll ask you about it.
He glanced at the clock one more time. Still midnight.
Grabbing his phone, he decided to track his car, see where its at. Technically it’s not creepy or weird to track you. He’s tracking his car. Not you. You just happen to be inside his car.
Besides, he needs to soothe that niggling feeling inside his mind telling him you probably got lost, kidnapped, or crashed his car and died.
It stated the car, parked a location of what seemed to be a penthouse, had been parked for the last eight hours. He paused and zoomed into the location, cursing the Google Maps app for showing the satellite view instead of street view. He has no clue where this house is or who it belongs to.
Part of him wants to say Ran, but the other part rejects it, not wanting to be faced with that truth just yet. Who else do you know that lives in a penthouse? Could be Dona, he thinks, she lives in a penthouse also. But Dona hates you, and he’s sure you might hate her back.
Shion saved the address in his mind and dialed Hiro, hoping you gave him a call.
The first thing he heard when he answered the phone was a low grumble. “What the hell do you want?”
Shion relaxed further into his bed, his hands laced behind his head. “An attitude already huh?”
Shion could practically picture what peeved facial expression Hiro might’ve been wearing on his face through the exasperated sigh he let out.
“It’s bad enough you put me in this damn hospital. Now you’re not even letting me get some sleep?”
“I already apologised for that. Get over it.”
“You broke my ribs, you piece of shit,” Hiro growled.
Shion yawned. “It’s fixed now isn’t it?”
“Fuck you.”
Shion fought back his eye roll and sat upright. “Have you spoken to your sister lately?”
“No. Why? Did she find out your stupid plan and now you think I told her?”
“No she didn’t find anything out and she won’t. Keep your mouth shut and I won’t break your other ribs. It’s just that she hasn’t come home yet; it’s been 8 hours.” Shion peered over towards the clock, the number moving from 00:59 to 01:00. “Never mind, 9 hours now.”
“I swear to God if something happened to my sister and its your fault Shion I’ll—”
“Guess you don’t know anything then,” Shion sighed. “This was a waste of time. G’night.”
“Wait! If you find her tell her to call m—”
Shion hung up the phone before Hiro could finish his sentence. Hiro looked down at his phone in disbelief. He wasn’t surprised, more irritated instead. He hoped you were okay but at the same time you had a track record of disappearing for no reason and ending up fine. Maybe this was another one of your episodes.
His phone moved to your contact, looking at your messages, Big Sis offline and decided to text you for himself.
~*~
You couldn’t sleep.
Tossing and turning in Ran’s big comfy sheets did almost nothing to help. You tried everything in the book to try get your body to shut down and sleep but nothing worked. Your brain hyper active and flipping through the memories of earlier today, the kisses you shared earlier, his lingering scent still wafting around the bedroom, his voice that you missed so much.
He’s been gone for six hours now and yet your thoughts went back to only him and his wickedly talented mouth.
Your phone buzzed, the room lighting up as Hiro’s name flashed across your screen from the dresser. Slapping uselessly around for the device, you fumbled with it until he held the phone the right way up just in time to see another notification.
2 New Messages: Hiro
Where are you?
Do I need to file another missing persons report?
You hesitated, wondering briefly if you should tell the truth. Nah, it’ll cause more harm than good. You pressed your chin into the soft black pillow case as your brain thought of rapidfire excuses that would explain your disappearance.
Sent: HIRO HI! Hows hospital food? Want me to bring you something instead?
Too much. Way too much, you thought but sent the message anyway. You could practically hear the nagging voice of your therapist abroad telling you that deflecting was never the answer and you should confront your issues head on for the healthiest recovery.
Hiro could read you like an open book, even through text and it was scary.
Hiro:
Stop deflectingg. Where are you?
Sent: don’t worry im fine. How are your injuries? Rib healing ok?
Hiro:
You’re with ran arent you?
You paused and stared at the text. For a solid second you were sure your heart actually sank and you hated how perceptive your younger brother could be at times.
Sent: how pathetic do u think i am? Im insulted hiro -_-
Hiro:
Im insulted you think im this stupid
Whatever man as long as youre safe
Hes taking care of you right?
Sent: yes. He is.

You sighed in relief once you turned your phone off. Knowing Hiro was happy with your decision felt like a weight was lifted off your shoulders. Honestly you weren’t expecting this to go so well, fully expecting some type of drama to happen, Hiro yelling at you for seeing Ran after you promised you would stay away from him.
You lifted the blanket, pulling them over your body and closed your eyes, finally drifting off to sleep.
~*~
The next morning, Mira woke up next to an empty bed as usual. It’d been a regular occurrence by now so she wasn’t phased by it, still there was a little twinge in her heart every morning that she refused to acknowledge.
She quickly got herself ready for the day and headed downstairs to the kitchen to prepare for the event this evening. She opened up her Macbook and gathered all the recipes.
An hour into cooking, her doorbell rang. She quickly washed the dried dough on her hands, wiped them dry, then walked over to the door. Dona was there, rubbing her wrists and admiring the outside decór outside the Tachibana residency.
Mira lived in the suburbs, from the looks of it in a nice neighbourhood. Probably a cliché, Dona thought.
Dona lived in the city, the busy bustling city where you’re woken up by the loud honking horns rather than peaceful birds.
Her dream was to get married, have kids and live in a similar area like Mira’s neighbourhood. She’s twenty six now and isn’t even close to accomplishing her dream.
Step one + two get married was a bust, men were practically afraid of her. She likes having the reputation of being icy cold, after all it was the only way you could be taken seriously in her industry.
If you were too soft, delicate and emotional you were considered a weak link.
Plus she’s a woman and most men she encounters already don’t take her seriously.
She has a reputation to uphold, her cold nature spread around like wildfire, plus being close to the executives in Bonten didn’t hurt for a little extra credit to her reputation too. People take her more seriously now, men and women.
Also being Izana’s cousin also helped with getting connections. His death brought her closer to Mikey, the two of them using each other as a coping mechanism. It was her idea to use Izana’s earring as Bonten’s logo, an idea that resonated deeply with Mikey.
Dona could never live in a neighbourhood like this as much as he desperately wants to. Her job relies her being out all the time meaning there’s barely any free time for her to sleep in and just relax. This neighbourhood is more like a community, meaning if anything goes down, it’ll be hard to cover anything up with so many eyewitnesses peeking out of their windows.
“Dona! You came!” Mira clamped her arms around Dona’s neck, pulling her in for another hug. “Come come, you can help me prepare for the party!”
Dona was ushered inside, Mira moving past her to lock the front door. The house was modern, a big living room space and Dona envisioned kids running around the place. She briefly remembers how excited Mira was to have kids and get married, settle down with the man of her dreams. The kitchen was just as big as the living room, shiny black marble on the walls and counter tops, plenty of room for them to get everything prepared.
The time was 9 in the morning and the two of them had to get everything prepared before five pm. It was a huge party, loads of baked goods as well as home cooked meals. Mira considered herself a good cook and prided herself in her cooking. Naoto loves it and can’t wait to finish a long day of interrogating and investigating just to come home and enjoy his fiancé’s cooking.
With an extra helping hand, Mira managed to finish an hour before the party started, giving her time to start preparing everything before Naoto and his co-workers came home. They set the food in the garden in warming trays, put a cooler outside for the alcohol and only fifteen minutes before hte aprty started did they both finally have time to themselves.
Mira flopped onto the couch exhausted, an exaggerated yawn leaving her mouth. “I’m beat. My feet are killing me!” She turns onto her back and kicks off her fluffy slipper boots.
“You did an amazing job. They’re all gonna love it.” Dona walked over to the unlit fireplace, looking at the picture frames stacked on top. She picked up a photo of Mira and Naoto, his hand resting on the flat of her back as they both smiled into the camera. “Is this Naoto?”
Mira rolled her head to the side to look at the photo in her hands. “Yup! That’s him!”
“How’d you guys meet?”
“My roommate in college was studying criminology. Naoto was in her class so I met him through her. We spent more time together and started dating in…2012? I think. Something like that.” Mira practically had hearts in her eyes as she spoke about him.
She really was in love.
“I really want to meet him,” Dona said, putting the photo back down.
Unknown to Mira, Dona actually met Naoto before, but it was one sided.
Back when Bonten was forming, Naoto had been on their tails, always causing them troubles with his investigations.
Their warehouses got raided so much because they didn’t have the manpower to fully protect, defend and hide their tracks. Dona and Sanzu were assigned to keep an eye out to see any suspicious activity coming from the Tokyo Police Department (TPD).
She’d never had an actual conversation with Naoto, only observing him from afar and planting fake evidence to throw his entire investigation in the bin, leaving them to start from scratch.
“I want you to meet him too!” Mira chirped.
She sat up swiftly when she heard the front gate open. Dona blinked and Mira was gone, already zooming towards the door, opening it and launching herself towards Naoto.
He stumbled back on impact but held her tight, putting his briefcase down to probably embrace her. He put her back on the ground and gave her a kiss on the lips, the giddiness rolling of Mira in waves as she kissed him back just as eagerly.
Dona felt a little twitch of jealousy residing in her, wondering if she’ll ever get to experience this kind of love. Being raised in the Kurokawa household, love, care and affection was practically non-existent.
Since a young age of five she was abandoned by her parents, forced to live with foster parents who tried their best to teach her love and empathy but she was too much of a demon child.
She was in and out of the foster care system her whole childhood. Her parents were cold, narcissistic and manipulative people who barely cared about each other yet alone their daughter.
When Dona was ten, she found Izana and the two found out they were cousins. Since then they’ve stuck to each other like glue.
Izana’s death affected Dona in ways nobody could understand. It took you and Mira almost two years to melt that icy exterior she had built up as a product of her childhood and Izana’s death only brought it up back. She wasn’t herself anymore, truly feeling nothing but loneliness.
Ran helped her through it, after all they both lost someone they truly cared about.
Maybe it wasn’t the most appropriate thing to catch feelings for her best friend’s boyfriend but Dona was nothing but selfish, the lack of stability in her life led her to prioritise her own needs and wants in a way to regain a sense of control over her own life.
Her feelings mattered the most above all. In her mind she started harbouring resentment towards you whenever you’d complain that Ran’s pissed you off again and the two of you are back on break, or when the two of you would get back together after going a whole month of no contact.
It was fucking annoying seeing you take him for granted. Even now as she looks at Naoto and Mira, she feels resentment rather than joy for her friend finally finding her lifelong partner.
Kakucho’s recommended therapy to her many times to which she shut that option down almost every time. Kakucho’s been to a couple therapists, liking talking about his feelings to someone now that he doesn’t have Izana around anymore. He knows therapy works and he feels himself becoming a better person and only hopes Dona could put her pride aside and admit she needs to get some help.
“Baby come come I want you to meet my best friend!” Mira dragged him inside, kicking the door closed behind her. “Naoto this is Dona. Dona this is Naoto.”
Naoto extended his hand out, polite and formal and shook Dona’s hand. “Wonderful to meet you.”
“You too.” Dona smiled awkwardly, retreating her hand away almost instantaneously.
“I finished cooking! Are your friends on their way?”
Naoto sighed and turned to face his fiancé. “Baby I’m sorry but something came up and they had to go on a mission together. So the party has to be rescheduled.” His heart nearly broke into pieces when he saw the excitement on Mira’s face slowly wash away as she came to the realisation that she wasted a whole day cooking.
“Really? Aw, okay.” Mira’s shoulders slumped. She looked up at Dona and frowned. “I’m sorry you went through all this for nothing. I wasted your day.”
“No. No it’s fine,” Dona reassured. “I had fun today. Don’t stress.”
“Baby,” Naoto called, getting Mira’s attention. “If you want we can give the food to our neighbours. You know they love your cooking.”
Mira slowly nodded, still disappointed but at least the food won’t go to waste. “Alright, I’ll start packaging them into containers. You two stay here and talk. I want my two favourite people to get to know each other.” Mira said leaving no room for discussion and left the living room.
Dona swung her arms awkwardly as Naoto took his blazer off and settled on the couch. “So…what do you do?” she asked, trying to make conversation. “I heard something about a promotion?”
Naoto shook his head. “My co-wokers is getting a promotion not me. I’m a detective in the Tokyo Police Department. My promotion was a year ago.”
“Oh! Congratulations. Policing and detective work must be a pretty challenging job huh?”
Naoto nodded. “It has its moments yeah. I meet some assholes on a daily basis but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”
Dona moved to sit on the armchair next to the couch Naoto is sitting on and leaned forward, resting her elbows on her knees. “I heard there’s a pretty big case going on in the TPD lately. Something about that criminal group on the news every two business days haha.” Her laugh was nothing but fake, Naoto could sense it but chalked it up to her being an awkward individual.
Something about Dona seemed off though, he couldn’t quite put a pin on it. Briefly, his eyes searched her body exposed from her clothing to see if there was any tattoos. Bonten members have tattoos to differentiate ranks. All the executives he knows of so far have a tattoo that matched Izana’s necklace on a part of their body, mostly on a recognisable body part.
Manjiro Sano has his on the back of his neck.
Sanzu Haruchiyo has his on his arm.
The Haitani Brothers, a more recent breakthrough, have theirs on their throat.
Those are the only members he knows so far. Dona so far has no visible tattoos and he doesn’t want to be seen as a pervert by asking his fiancé’s best friend if she could take her clothes off for a search. So he drops it.
Dona had a feeling he was onto her with the way he was observing her and praised herself for wearing a long shirt that covers her stomach where her tattoo is.
“Yes, that’s correct. Bonten has been a priority for the department lately,” Naoto said finally.
“Oh wow. That sounds incredibly dangerous. I hope nobody gets hurt, I know how dangerous they can be. What have they found out?” Naoto looked on guard so she quickly added on, “I’m a huge fan of true crime. Watch it every day at home. It’s really cool.”
Naoto softened a little bit more and exhaled. “I’m sorry Dona but I’m not allowed to go into too much detail about on ongoing investigation. Confidentially and all.”
Dona nodded understandingly. “Of course, I didn’t mean to pry. It’s just that it must be so intriguing, the way you police-men deal with these criminals.”
“It can be yes, but its also a lot of hard work and long hours. I sometimes hate coming home late and entering the house to see Mira asleep. I barely spend time with her.” The constant questioning of Bonten had him feeling uncomfortable so he tested the waters and switched topics back onto Mira. If Dona wasn’t shady, she’d accept the topic had moved on and leave it alone.
“Poor Mira.” Dona paused for a second and Naoto watched her, observing her. “Do you ever worry about the risks involved? I know Bonten doesn’t play by the rules.”
He knew it. Clearing his throat, he says, “I won’t deny that there are risks but we’re trained for a reason. Our duty is to protect the city and the people.” He stood up from the couch and dusted his clothes. “If you’ll excuse me I have to get changed. It was nice meeting you again.”
“You too!” The second Naoto’s back was turned away from her, her smile fell and she pulled out her phone. Since her evening plans was ruined, she has to find something else to do. She texted Rindou and asked where he is.
~*~
Dona has no idea how she ended up running into you on the street but after exchanging a few words the two of you expressed how you both have nothing to do, you both found yourself wandering the streets together.
Rindou finally responded to her text, stating he was at Starlight Mirage, one of the hostess clubs owned by Bonten. The idea of Rindou being there with a bunch of pretty girls clinging to him only pissed her off, the horny fuckers but she responded I’ll be there and turned her phone off.
You were sipping on your drink when you saw Dona look up from her phone and begin walking in the other direction. “Wait! Wait hold up!” You jogged to catch up with her, holding her arm to keep her in place. “Where're you going?”
“To a club. Let go.” She shook her arm trying to rid you of it but you held tighter.
“What club? Is it far?”
“A club we own. Now let go,” she said a bit harsher. You let go and kept your hands to your side, mumbling sorry. You made it about two steps when she stopped you with an abrupt call of your name. When you faced her, she had her eyes squeezed shut, lips pressed tight as if mentally preparing herself for what she was doing. “Do you want to come with me?”
You had to scoop your jaw off the floor as wondered why she’s asking you to join her. “What?”
“Don’t make me change my mind,” she said flatly.
“I thought you hated me?”
She shrugged. “You hate me too. What’s the big deal?”
“I don’t hate you Dona. I never did,” you admitted quietly. Dona observed you for a second before sighing.
“You coming or not?”
You weren’t one to turn down an invitation. You closed the distance and began walking beside her. She had her hands pressed up to her chest as if protecting herself from the chilly breeze.
“Wait.” You both came to a pause on the busy street and she turned to look at you, eyebrow raised. “You said we’re going to a hostess club right?”
“Yeah? What, you’ve never been?”
You shook your head. “Is this outfit okay?” You gestured to your rather plain outfit, a simple band tee and jeans. Dona pressed her lips tightly and shook her head slowly.
“Not in the slightest.” She pivoted her head to see if there was an appropriate store to enter and buy you something. “You got money on you?” You reached inside your pocket and pulled out a few bills, a small amount of change barely enough to buy you a meal. She slapped her forehead. “Of course.”
“Hey!”
She ignored you and continued looking around before eyeing a store across the street. It wasn’t something she’d normally go to for dresses, finding the clothes rather cheap looking but desperate times calls for desperate measures.
The store was playing pop music when you both entered and she told you to pick a dress so she could buy it for you and the both of you could keep on moving.
It’s been fifteen minutes and you still haven’t picked something out yet. You’ve been wandering through the aisles, trying to figure out what to get, what might fit, what might look ugly. Part of you was subconsciously trying to pick something you think Ran might like. Ran likes short clothing mainly, wants to see every inch of your skin exposed, but if he were to choose something long, he’d make sure it had a thigh slit somewhere just so he has access.
“Oh my god hurry up! You’re taking forever!” Dona exclaimed, checking her phone for the time.
“I’m sorry! I’m just very picky when it comes to clothes!” You’d been oogling between the short dress and the long dress for the last two minutes. Out of options, you grabbed both of them and showed Dona. “Pick one.”
Dona gave you a ‘seriously?’ look and you nodded eagerly, excited to see which one she chose for you. Rolling her eyes she pointed at the shorter one and you gave the staff the long dress to hang back up and approached the counter. Dona brought out her black card and bought the dress for you. As the receipt was printing, she told you to go and change into it.
You both exited the shop and made your way towards the club.
~*~
The room was glowing red when you entered. You instantly spotted Rindou seated at the bar with a drink in his hand, exchanging small talk with the bartender as well as another man you never seen before. He had broad shoulders and chest and a goatee. Dona left you behind at the door and walked up to Rindou, surprising him from behind.
You felt awkward where you stood; none of the men inside the room noticing your presence. Ran was sitting on the couch, his head faced downwards as his attention was absorbed by his phone, engaging in a long text chain with a client. You slowly approached the couch from behind and covered his eyes with your hands, bending low to whisper in his ear, “Guess who?”
His lips curved into a smirk as he instantly recognised your voice despite the soft whisper and tilted his head back to meet your gaze. “Baby, what’re you doing here,” he asked, holding a hand out to guide you around the couch.
Once you were in front of him, he tugged you to sit down next to him. Your ass hit the plush seat and he lifted your legs to swivel around his lap so you were sitting sideways on the couch.
His hand found itself on your thighs and you clenched them subconsciously at the feeling of his big hand caressing your thigh.
Mentally, you thanked Dona for picking the short dress just so you can feel more of his touch.
“I ran into Dona on the street and she was on her way here,” you told him, trying to ignore the way your stomach was doing backflips. He hummed in agreement and you felt the rumble travel through your body.
Before you could fully get comfortable, a girl walked into the room, readjusting her hoop earrings. “Ran-ran are you ready…?” she coo’d. She was dressed in a lingerie dress with black heels that stopped once she saw you on his lap. “Who the hell are you?”
“I—uh—”
“Not today baby,” Ran said, tilting his head backwards to get a look at her past your body. His hand on your waist squeezed a little tighter when he felt you squirm a little, clearly uncomfortable under her stare.
“But…but you promised last time it was my turn with you,” she said with a pout, her glare not leaving your frame.
You turned to look at Ran who looked apathetic about the situation and the words left your mouth despite how hard you tried to keep them at bay. “You can go if you want to.”
“Are you sure?” he asked.
Trick question you thought, and you remember your own words from just the other week. No strings attached. It pained you to nod your head slowly, your neck feeling stiff but you powered through it.
Shifting off his lap, you awkwardly sat on the couch as Ran stood up, dusting his clothes. The girl smiled deviously and latched onto Ran’s arm as the two of them left the room. You pouted and crossed your arms over your chest, feeling petty and bitter about the whole situation.
“You lonely?” A deep voice comes from behind you.
Tilting your head back, you see the same guy from before standing behind you. You shrugged, not in the mood for conversation right now.
He slowly rounded the couch and plopped on the other end, giving you space since he sensed you wanted it. “I’m Mochi by the way. I don’t think we’ve met before.”
You told him your name and went back to pouting.
“If you want me to leave, say so and I will.”
“No…it’s fine.” You sighed and turned to face him. “Sorry Mochi was it?”
He chuckled. “Forgot my name already?”
“No I’m good with names usually I swear. I’m just…I dunno.” You casted a quick glance over to the door Ran exited from and wondered what exactly they were doing right now. The answer felt obvious to you, what else does a girl wearing lingerie want, but you were in denial.
“Distracted? What’s on your mind? Normally when I’m distracted I take something.”
“Take something as in drugs?” You peeked at him. He slowly nodded his head.
“You’ve never done before?”
“Few times. Not often though.”
“It’s no wonder you look stressed.” He stood from the couch. “Bare with me. I’ll need to grab something from upstairs. Stay here?”
“Okay.” You watched him leave the room and return less than five minutes later with a box in his hands, Sanzu walking in beside him. He had his hands tucked in his pockets, a sardonic smile on his face as he met your eyes.
“Hey! It’s you!” he called out pointing at you and catching the attention of everyone else in the room. For the first time tonight, Rindou met your eyes and you instantly looked away, unsure how to handle the intensity of his stare.
Sanzu stood in front of you on the couch and peered down at you. “Mochi said you wanted me to hook you up with something. But I don’t know how Ran would feel about me hooking his bitch up with substances,” he finished, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.
“First of all,” you stood up from the couch to meet his eye better. “I’m not a bitch. Don’t call me that. And I’m not his bitch. Secondly, I don’t care how Ran feels. I don’t belong to him, I can do what I want.”
Sanzu paused for a second, his eyebrows rose with shock. “And she bites. You just got even hotter in my book baby.”
You rolled your eyes and sat back down, readjusting your dress on the way. “What drugs do you have?”
Sanzu extended his hand out for you to grab. You took it and he led you towards the table in the back corner of the room, Mochi following behind the two of you. The two men sat down on either side of you, sandwiching you between their bodies. It made you uncomfortable but at the same time excited you because for some reason, you weren’t scared of these two guys even though you should be. Their closeness calmed you, like a hot bath on a cold night. If only Ran was there too.
“So Mochi," Sanzu started as Mochi set the little box on the table, "which girl do you plan taking home tonight? I saw this one bitch earlier, she had a tongue piercing. So sexy. You barely see that shit 'round here unless they're on some freaky shit."
Mochi shook his head, a mischievous grin lighting up his face. “Nah I know who you're talking about. She's too skinny for me. Like my women big and curvy."
"Like big tits or big elsewhere?" Sanzu inquired.
You rolled your eyes, fighting back the urge to cover your ears as the two of them spoke about women like that. Your ears were burning and you huffed, watching Sanzu reach for the box and begin pulling out each item separately. First came liquid methadone in a small glass bottle, then a lighter followed by a pipe, and finally two more small bottles containing pills and strips of paper.
Sanzu separated the pills into four piles; 1, 3, 5, and 10 milligrams and showed them to you.
“These are different doses depending on what type of high you want to get. Top pill is 10mg, this next one here is 5mg and so on. The black bag there contains amphetamines and opiates to treat the comedown after a good hit."
“Uh okay, sure. Whatever that means.” You replied as he began tearing off the labels. When you asked for drugs these weren't the type of drugs you were expecting. You expected marijuana or something, that's the only drug you were comfortable doing by yourself. Not this...hardcore stuff.
"Do you um have anything less intense?" You turned to your right and already saw Sanzu with his sleeve up, injecting himself in his arm with a needle.
"No." He snapped at you, turning back around. You could tell he didn't like being questioned but this was the most real answer you'd gotten so far.
The needle pierced through his skin and you flinched in spite of yourself.
"Let me guess, you haven't done any hard drugs before and are nervous about it." Sanzu eyed you carefully. You nodded and he sighed loudly, rolling his sleeve back down and passing the vial to Mochi. "You see this is why I said Ran wouldn't be pleased about this."
Mochi rolled his eyes. "Who cares." He closed the vial and put it back in the box, setting it aside.
Sanzu leaned forward in his chair and pointed the tip of his finger at you, poking you lightly in the chest. "Remember, you're a grown ass woman and you can do whatever the fuck you want to do." You could tell whatever he injected into himself started to get to him as he got that dazed look in his eyes.
"I know I'm grown. That doesn't mean I can't be nervous still though." You felt self conscious of yourself now, knowing you looked ridiculous sitting across the table from these two men as they popped bottles of pills, played with needles, and even lit a joint. "Which do you reccomened for a beginner to try?" you asked Sanzu and Mochi who began thinking deeply.
Mochi hovered his hand around the litany of drugs on the table and picked up the smallest pile of white pills. "This is Valium, It'll calm you down and make you relaxed."
Sanzu shook his head. "No you idiot. Don't give that to her." Sanzu began grabbing for the stack of pills, all stacked up neatly in a triangle shape. He grabbed for a pinkish colored pill, tossing it over to you. "This is Vicodin. It's stronger than valium and will give you a better high overall. Also, its effect lingers longer than valium so if you use it sparingly it won't leave you feeling down after a while." He takes the pill from Mochi's hands and puts it in his palm, holding both palms out towards you. "Choose babygirl."
You hesitated. Maybe you shouldn't do this...but you also really wanted to. Afterall, you were bored. "Vicodin please."
Sanzu nodded and handed Mochi the Valium pill. "Open up," he said softly at you. He gripped your chin and you opened your mouth wide for him to place the pill inside. It slipped down your throat easily. He pulled away, pushing his fingers towards the back of your head to force you to look him in the eye.
"Do you feel alright?" he asked you quietly, stroking your cheek gently.
"I don't feel any different..." you told him honestly. You just sat there and waited to see what happened next. Nothing seemed to happen at first, other than the ringing in your ears beginning to fade. "So how long until it kicks in?" you mumbled to him.
Sanzu stared at you. "Give it about thirty minutes. If not then an hour." He clapped his hands together loudly, the sound startling you and making you jump. "I feel mines kicking in already." He gave you another smile, looking almost proud.
The two of them started talking about something you didn't care about again and you zoned them out, focusing on seeing if you felt any different. Ten...fifteen minutes pass and you feel the same. Finally, thirty minutes later you started to feel like something had changed. It was subtle, but you knew it was happening. The world became clearer and things around you started to move slightly slower than before. Everything around you seemed sharper and you could sense colors vibrating on the edge of your vision. Your brain felt clearer too, your thoughts getting more straight and concise. All you could think about was the feeling of this clean, smoothness pulsing in your body.
Conversation flowed smoothly between the three of you and you began having fun, you felt more animated and extroverted. Eventually, you were a little too buzzed to carry on a normal conversation and fell asleep on the couch. You woke up around ten minutes later with a tap on your shoulder. Looking up, you saw Ran standing over you, concerned at the state of you.
He squatted down in front of you, pressing his palm on your forehead. "You don't have a fever. You tired or something?" he asked, removing his hand from your forehead to rest on his knees. You blinked slowly at him, realizing you were tired and sore, feeling rather sluggish.
Now that your eyes were fully open, you noticed the teeny tiny fading love bite on the corner of his jaw and frowned. "I'm fine," you said snappily, pushing your legs off the couch and stood upright. Your legs were tingly and felt like thousands of needles were stabbing you from the inside and vowed to never take a pill from Sanzu again.
"Ah she's awake!" Sanzu called out from his corner of the room. He was sitting at a table playing cards with a few more people that you don't recognise. A simple look around the room confirmed Dona and Rindou had left.
Sanzu waved you over and you didn't hesitate leaving Ran's side, too mad at him to stay by him and walked over to Sanzu. "This is Benkei and Wakasa." He introduced each person and you nodded politely.
"I hope we didn't wake you," Benkei said smiling at you.
You shook your head pointed at Ran with your thumb who was now standing behind you. His chest against your back so suddenly almost startled you, but you kept your composure. His arm snaked around your shoulders possessively when he caught Wakasa's lingering eyes on your form and subtly pulled you closer towards him.
"She's still high," Sanzu snickered, pointing at you and taking a swig of his beer.
"What?" Ran asked and turned you to face him. He held your face up and examined you carefully. Your eyes were puffy and red and looked a bit glassy as well, you were clearly intoxicated. "Was gone for half an hour and you already got her popping pills," he directed his statement at Sanzu who smiled widely at you.
You rolled your eyes at him and pushed his hands off your face. "What do you care anyway? And you were gone for longer than that."
"You counted or something? What difference does it make?" Ran countered.
"None," you huffed and crossed your arms. You turned back around and took the seat between Sanzu and Benkei, ignoring the way Sanzu peered back at Ran, grinning even wider than before and readjusted his seat further into the table. "How do you play this game? Cards is it?"
Wakasa picked up the deck and placed it in your lap. "Let me show you," he said softly, handing you the deck of cards and giving you a soft smile.
Rindou re-entered the room with Dona behind him, the two of them calling Ran over. He was hesitant to leave you by yourself with the three men, but decided to give you your space because he could tell you were angry at him right now.
Dona reached up and hugged Ran once he approached the two of them. "Hey, you okay?" she asked, noticing tense he looked.
Rindou looked around the room, his eyes locking in on the sight of Wakasa standing next to you, bent downwards to talk into your ear as he explained and taught you how to play cards.
"Oh," he breathed softly before bursting into laughter. "Your girl got stolen huh?"
Ran shook his head and slouched against the wall. "We all know who she's gonna run back to at the end of the day." The funny part is that he wasn't lying. Rindou knows that, Dona knows that, Ran definitely knows that and even you do. Rindou and Dona have been far too acquainted with that fact on many occasions.
"You're so cocky it's sick," Dona mimes gagging. "For my own entertainment I hope she runs off with Wakasa."
"Don't be like that Dona." Ran dug into his pocket, pulling out some extra notes he had laying around and held it in front of her. "Go get yourself laid and release all that stress."
"I'm not stressed!"
"Yeah right," Rindou laughed, ignoring the way Dona redirected her glare to him. "When's the last time you got laid?"
Dona crossed her arms and shrugged. "Like a few months ago. I dunno."
"Damn, no wonder you're bitchy tonight," Mochi said from the couch.
"You wanna see bitchy?" Dona strode forward and dumped her leftover glass of beer on top of his head.
Ran and Rindou started cackling at the sight of a wet Mochi and Dona tossed the empty glass on the floor, walking back over to Ran and taking the cash from his hands. "Fuck maybe you're right. I do need to get laid."
"Have fun yeah." Ran slapped her ass as she went past him, yelping at the sting and pouting before walking out of the room.
"You think she has any luck?" Rindou asked, moving to stand opposite his brother.
"Men here are desperate. They'll pay their life savings just to see a pretty girls panties."
"Don't act like women aren't the same either. They'll strip to the floor at the sight of both you two idiots," Mochi said as he approached them, wiping the remaining beer from his face with a towel.
"As they should." Ran grinned.
“Go take a shower man, you stink,” Rindou grumbled at Mochi.
"Speaking of strip I want my girl back now.” Ran lifted himself off the walls standing up straight “I'll be back gentleman."
By now, Waka had returned back to his seat opposite you as the four of you played cards, Sanzu currently winning three games in a row. You tried to concentrate on the game but every now and then, Benkei would rest his hand on your leg and his fingers would brush across your skin, sending tingles down your spine.
Ran strode towards you, his voice startling you by your ear. "C'mon baby lemme take you home." You leaned your head back, wanting to look him in the eye, and caught sight of his cheekbones, high forehead and nose before your eyes drifted downward to those full lips. You nodded without hesitation and he held his hand out, helping you slip out of the chair.
"Aw man you're going home already?" Waka exaggerated his disappointment as you slipped away. "You didn't even finish this game."
"I wasn't going to win anyway," you responded back before slipping your arms through Ran's blazer that he took off himself to hand to you. You mouthed a thank you to him and he pressed a kiss to your forehead, grabbing your bag and holding it close to him.
By the time you returned home, it was almost 2 in the morning. You phone had died earlier in the day, missing all of Shion's calls and texts. Ran parked his car outside Shion's apartment complex and rode the elevator up with you. You rang the doorbell, your brain too sluggish to attempt and use your keys.
Shion opened the door and almost immediately glared at Ran. If Ran was surprised to see Shion, he didn't show it; a subtle eyebrow raise that was blind to everyone's eye.
You stumbled inside the house, mumbling that you're sleepy. You beelined straight for the bedroom, collapsing on the bed. Meanwhile, Shion stepped into the hallway, closing the door behind him. "What the fuck did you do to her?"
"Me?" Ran shrugged and shook his head. "Nothing."
"She's drunk! Or high or whatever! I swear to God if you did something Ran, I'll—"
"You'll what? Kill me? With what."
Shion pulled out a gun he kept in his pants and pointed it at his forehead. The action meant to be threatening yet, the expression on Ran's face remained unphased.
"Ooh, where'd you get that. That's illegal in Japan, ya know?" Ran noticed the safety was still on.
"I have connections you dumbass. Don't bother asking. You're not getting an answer."
"Kill me then," Ran suggested. "Just a pull on a trigger and all your problems and insecurities will be solved." Shion's brow furrowed as he contemplated it. Ran leaned forward, his voice lowering to a whisper. "Just know if you do, might as well kiss any chance you got with her away. She'll hate you forever and you know that."
"You don't know shit."
"Really?" Ran smiled, taking the opportunity to lean closer to Shion. "I'm not a theorist but..." Ran grabbed the gun easily from Shion's hands and Shion watched in confusion as he removed the safety and put the gun back in Shion's hands. Ran grabbed Shion's wrist and repositioned the gun back at his forehead. "Go on shoot me. Prove my theory wrong. It's a clean shot. Go on," he goaded.
Shion's breathing got heavier for a moment before his eyes cleared, a stern expression on his face. The anger on his face diminished as he put his arm down, letting it fall limp to his sides.
"Exactly," Ran spat, dusting down his suit. "I'll be taking this." He snatched the gun from Shion's hands, pocketing it in his own waistband before patting Shion on the head condescendingly, taking advantage of the clear height difference. "Can't be letting little boys run around here wtih one of these. They're dangerous y'know?"
"Get the fuck out before I call the police," Shion growled.
"How adorable. Relying on police to save your ass." Ran sighed, shaking his head disappointedly. "Tell her I'll see her tommorow yeah?" Shion glared at him and waited for Ran to walk towards the elevator before re-entering his house. He walked towards the bedroom where he knows you'd be. He saw you laying on the bed, half asleep, half awake and flopped down beside you.
“You awake?” he called quietly in a whisper.
You grumbled a noise in response, sounding like a yes and no. Shion took a moment before saying, “Who would you pick? Me or him?” He was met with silence. He shifted a little closer to you and called your name again, met with more silence.
Must’ve fallen asleep, he thought, ignoring that nagging part of him thinking how weirdly coincidental that was but left the room anyway, leaving you to sleep. The second the door shut you opened your eyes and frowned. Deep down you knew the answer to that, but the question made you feel so awkward it was best to avoid. But you had a feeling he’d ask you about it again in the morning.
Meanwhile, Shion pulled out his phone and texted Dona that the plan failed, Ran is hanging out you again. She doesn’t respond instantly like she normally does so Shion understandingly gets frustrated. He scrolled through his contacts when he found someone to text.
Shion: I need a favour
He responded back almost instantly.
Hanma Shuji: how cute of you to text me at 2am. Maybe if you beg ill be able to grant your wish
Shion: don’t make this fucking weird can we meet later or not?
Hanma Shuji: what’s in it for me? Im a busy man
Shion: You get to piss off Ran Haitani. Thats what.
Hanma Shuji: interesting…
Hanma Shuji: You got yourself a deal.
pls lmk how you found this chapter!!! i was trying a new writing style so if you could tell me if you enjoyed it or not that'll rlly help my writing and motivation thank you guyssss !!!

Shinichiro, stay away from the kids!
(with love)
Okay, first of all, this is not a hating Shinichiro post. I swear it. This is just me having brain riot and thinking in how many times Shin was a questionable example for kids and teens around him and how we seem to forget about it but it's kinda hilarious when you put all of them together (except for Sanzu, that is never funny, my poor lil gremlin 😭)
I know most of this things were because he was also too young, oblivious and reckless. I know that, but it's funny to bully him with affection anyway 🙈
(and in the more serious ones, he was too dissociated and too out of everything, I know that too)
So... Here I go, random Shinichiro moments for all of you!
(big manga spoilers because it's Shinichiro)
Leaving Inupi to look out the shop.
Inupi, who looks like a cute potato here and it's deffinetly too young for it. Canon unpayed intern Inupi, yuhuuu! 💜
Him smoking around bikes all the damn time.
In his shop where Inupi was and could blow out the whole block. But also in his garage, where Draken and Mikey used to watch him fix the bikes. Shin, don't, that's dangerous! (I would say "if you wanna kill yourself do it but don't drag others with you", buuuuuut... Yeah, he did it and everyone got drag on that, so why bother to say it? 😑)
Wharever the fuck this was.
Probably just a prank, but.. Really, Shin? You ran away and left Izana there? I know, I know, you're a dumb teen, but c'mon, think for once! The whole interaction makes me laugh and want to smack Shinichiro in general, to be honest.
Oh...I think the not-so-funny ones are about to start. Here we go!
Leaving the Black Dragons to the traumatized orphan that just went out of juvie.
Yeah, that looks like a great idea, I'm sure nothing wrong will come out of this, lalalalalalala! (Shinichiro and his relationship with delinquency and his siblings should be a lot more explored because holy shit)
(Btw, not even pointing the helmets stuff, nops)
Bringing 8 y/o Mikey to gang meetings.
Like... What the fuck? I'm with Takeomi on this one, are you stupid Shinichiro? What are you thinking? Are you thinking? 😒
Love how BenWaka bully him for it too, that's why I left it here, ngl.
Isn't that just how Haruchiyo is, slashing people for Mikey?
Well, yeah, he is, but he wasn't! He shouldn't! Can't you not pretend this is not concerning for a second? Or... Not settle this mindset on Sanzu because it's gonna have big consequences? 🤦🏻
Talking about his inminent suicide with a 13 y/o.
Okay, I thought A LOT about putting this one, because obviously I'm not judging Shin at all, he was in a really dark place and when you're about to kill yourself you can't think clearly. It's just that this exchange... Breaks me. And Haruchiyo is just a kid, this is so not fair for him either 😭
(Sanos, start treating the Akashis like people with feelings that also matter for once, please)
You can still be his friend even if he scarred you for life!
Okay, Shin, I know you're a mix of biased and dissociated but... Really? Please, stop creating Sanzu, stop iiiiit! Let Haruchiyo alone, don't do this! Also... "Right now"? So you're saying he should forgive Mikey but not right now? Is that, Shincihiro? 😒
Trauma dumping to 13 y/o Haruchiyo. Shhh, keep the secret, bye!
Did I say Shinichiro created Sanzu? Yes? I'll say it again, I don't care. Again, I know he was dissociating and all, but, but... It's fine to kill people for Mikey mindset is now installed successfully on Haruchiyo's brain, yuhuuu! 😭
The amount of total disregard for Haruchiyo's mental health here is too much and should be a crime. The "keep the secret" part don't make it better. Specially, specially, when Shinichiro himself is not going to keep it, he's about to say everything to Wakasa. But Haru? Shhh, you should keep the secret, I'm sure this is not a huge burden for a teenager that suddenly have two set of memories!
(Well, not everything, he probably forgot to tell Waka about Haruchiyo remembering it, because in the final battle it didn't look like Sanzu ever talked about it with Wakasa and I wanna think they would if he knew... Look, another Sano forgetting about Sanzu, yuhu! 😑)
(Shin, with all my love, but I hate you for this one even if you gave me the best blorbo to torture on my fics that I ever had)
I'm sure you'll be able to handle it, random kid that I don't even know the name! 👀
YOU HAVE TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME WITH THIS ONE SHINICHIRO! I wish you remembered in the final timeline because you own Takemitchy the biggest freaking apology of all your life! What the hell? Go, apologize with Michi now!
Yes, he was able to handle it and to be traumatized infinite times in the way, but that's not the point! Use you brain for once Shin, why are you giving the burden to a kid? Why? What is wrong with you? (so many things actually xD)
But, for real, this sentence is Wakui being hilarious because c'mon, poor Takemichi!
Edit: I didn't put the poorly way Shinichiro handled everything about Izana and Mikey because I consider canon doesn't give us enough info on that. Same with Emma. What happened? Why Izana never met them? I have my hc, of course, but we don't know for sure. So... I can't ramble about how badly he managed that! (Badly, for sure, I just don't know exactly how and how much)
#well it started with me making fun of shin and ended with rambling ablout tl0 and not being that funny#what can I say?#shin i still love you but please go to theraphy before talking with more kids#and apologize to michi#tokyo revengers#tokyo revengers spoilers#sanzu haruchiyo#sano shinichiro#hanagaki takemichi#original timeline

I have seen to many of your good/final timeline HCs that I personally view as canon.
Can you do one for the Tenjiku members or the Black Dragons ¿how they adapt to Toman? (In the final timeline)
Yeah! Here are a few for the black dragons and tenjiku settling in/ being in toman!
Black dragons
The 10th gen of the black dragons are a lot more respectable in this timeline, they aren't a toman level of good and still do some shady stuff but they're not as brutal as before.
Inui had the least trouble fitting in, or rather he didn't care if he did or not, as long as Takemichi was happy.
Koko was in shock over no one actually sorting or being in charge of tomans finances. "You spend HOW MUCH on Taiyaki!??"
Taiju embarass Hakkai a bit by being so loud (Hakkai doesn't realise he's loud too).
It took days of Koko and Inui arguing over the vice captain position for Taiju to finally snap and say no ones having it.
After they both joined toman, Taiju went on a trip to an aquarium with Izana. Takemichi coincidentally spotted him and thought he was seeing things at first.
Inui and Draken still bond over bikes
The black dragons (mainly Taiju with Koko and Inui helping) try to help Hakkai get over his fear of talking to girls (Senju as the only girl in toman gets dragged into this plan)
All of toman now call Inui and Koko the dog and cat duo
Taiju Insists Mitsuya make his toman uniform (and initially complains of it being too tight again)
Tenjiku
There was a lot more uncertainty about them joining compared to the black dragons
Kakucho was happy to finally be in a gang with his childhood friend.
Ran was very dramatic about not being allowed his baton anymore.
They were all a bit confused about Mucho and Sanzu apparently knowing each other so they followed them on one of their coffee shop trips to spy on them.
The Haitani brother's asked Takemichi if they could wear a different colour uniform. Takemichi was so intimidated/ unsure of the teasing way they were acting that he just agreed to make them go away.
Izana low-key scares a few of the toman members, he kinda likes it too.
Kakucho is the most responsible member and is frequently the only one on time for the meetings.
Mochi and Pah like to arm wrestle each other
Kazutora had beef with Shion when he first joined because of their history. Baji also didn't like that he was here (because of this Chifuyu also said he didn't like him). Eventually it was resolved though.
Everyone thought the S62 hated Mikey until they beat up a guy who dared to make fun of Mikey. (Izana has a i can make fun of him but you can't kinda relationship towards Mikey).

I absolutely love Going Home!!! I was wondering will we get more Bonten headcanons in the future or how each of them keeps reader around while they deal with their lifestyle?
Will she ever try to leave them cause she hates how much pain they bring to other people or will she stay? And if she tries to leave what would their response be?
its already almost time to start writing chapter 4 ;-; take my useless apologies anon...I have no idea if you're still here but i hope my words reach you

Going Home Chapters 1 | 2 | 3
minor spoilers ahead for chapters 2 and 3 of Going Home!
Currently at this point in the story, I don't think you have a very clear picture of what Bonten is exactly or what kind of horrific crimes they get into - you definitely know that they are a criminal organization/some sort of gang big enough to own guns (given how they are still very illegal in Japan but Mikey has one) and that they will not hesitate to shoot if they perceive that you are in danger.
Even so, you are clearly very attached to Mikey, even if he is a version that is so far removed from your Mikey you left 12 years in the past, so I highly doubt you would leave unless you deem it an absolute necessity. Not closing that door just yet but its not good odds.
But if we imagine you trying to leave Bonten after the events of Chapter 3, what would the backlash be like?
We already know Mikey's, which would be an absolute meltdown, unable to comprehend losing you again after finally having you back in his arms again for the first time in 12 years. The mental strain has not been kind to this boy, and utter collapse of whatever that is left of his sanity is probably the only outcome, though exactly how this would manifest is another question altogether. Safe to say he would never accept you trying to leave him again, and there is nothing he wouldn't do to stop you.
Ran and Kakucho both have already learnt firsthand how obsessed Mikey is with you and how dependent he is now that you were back, and would instantly step in the moment they notice you trying to leave. It isn't like they are attached to you in any form at this point in time except through Mikey, but nonetheless these two would know their role very well in keeping you exactly where you were. Would be very gentle in restraining you because of said fear of Mikey, making sure that you weren't hurt or scared in any way, and get you reunited with their boss asap.
Koko, who have heard of your reputation and have seen you exactly once, he'll at least know what you look like and that he should stop you, especially after the damage Mikey let you do to Bonten's deep moneybags at the store (the poor former Black Dragon nearly cried at the total even though it was but a drop in the bucket). No one else would ever be allowed to spend that much, so it was clear just how important you are to Mikey, but he'll have a lot less restraint with his methods compared to Ran and Kakucho.
Sanzu is kind of a big toss up at this point too - we still don't know how your quick return to the past and his new memories would affect his actions towards you. Before your return, the pink-haired second in command would have happily let you leave and even pack a bag and choose a disguise for you (secretly of course, he would never forgive himself if Mikey found out) just to let you get as much of a head start as possible. But things have changed, and Sanzu is too confused over what to think of you now - who knows how much your small kind gesture has affected him over the past 12 years?
As for Rindo, Takeomi and Mochi, it is unclear at this point whether they know what you look like or have even heard the rumours yet.

On My Mind
Pairing: Bonten!Kokonoi Hajime x Bonten!Fem Reader
First time writing for Koko, so I hope I did well!
Summary: Coming to a meeting, wearing one of her secret lovers' gifts, the attention she receives sparks the true feelings they have for one another, which they discuss when they're finally alone...
Warnings: Pet names (Baby, princess) very slight swearing
Word Count: 0.7k
"Y/N finally here yet? We need to get started."
It wasn't like me to be late for a meeting, hearing Sanzu in the meeting room and apologizing as I stepped in:
"Forgive me for being late. I had to handle a personal issue."
"Woo," Ran whistled from the bar, bringing drinks over and winking at me, "Who are you trying to impress? Because I have never seen you all dolled up like that, honey."
I hated when people put me on the spot like this. Although, Ran made a good point. A cute silk dress, heels, and jewelry to match. That wasn't exactly my style, but I was exploring new fashions, avoiding the eyes of the one who bought it for me.
Kokonoi.
"I just thought that maybe it was time to try something new," It was hard to hide how flustered I was, especially since there were only two seats left.
One next to Rindou for Ran, then one next to Kokonoi. Koko's eyes wouldn't leave the sight of my dress as I sat down next to him, our eyes connecting, and the lust in them had me looking away to hide my smile.
We were a thing but weren't official. So, I would rather not have the rest of the guys be in our business, looking at Ran as he brought me a drink, winking:
"Well, it looks good on you, baby doll."
Ran could never hold back his flirtatious ways, cheeks full of flustered heat as I felt Koko's hand on my thigh under the table. Ran couldn't see it but noticed my expression, going to flirt with me some more till Sanzu groaned:
"Stop worrying about your, baby doll, Ran, and focus on the work we have to do."
"Yeah, yeah," Ran huffed back, sitting at the table, and as we were going through files and talking business, Koko's hand found my thigh again, fingertips tracing the silk against my skin, their talking able to hide his whisper:
"I knew that you'd look gorgeous in that dress."
"I'm glad you think so. I really do love it," I whispered, fighting another blushy smile, my thighs squeezing together.
To make it look like we were handling business, Koko reached for some papers next to me; his whisper was quieter but loud and clear to me:
"Only the best for my princess."
That made all my blood rush between my thighs, his finger softly trailing between my thighs, teasing under my dress, and his eyes trailing over to Ran, who was side-eyeing me with a smirk.
I took a big gulp of my drink while staring at the clock, needing this meeting to end already. It was still a lot of attention to process. I wasn't the type to be so easily swooned, but there was something about Koko.
I'd never seen him entertain the thought of anyone lustfully in all the years I've known him, and to be showered in bliss and pampered by him? It never failed at making my heart race.
Thankfully, I didn't have to suffer in tension for long. I stayed a bit longer only to avoid the guys seeing Koko and me leaving together.
It was astonishing how platonic we looked, but as we stepped into the elevator, there was no more acting.
"Gosh, I can't keep my eyes off you."
"You're too good to me, Koko," I said, melting from his presence, let alone when his hand found my hip, bringing me in front of him.
"Look at you, princess," The walls of the elevators were mirrors, my hands following his on my dress, pressing kisses on my ear, turning into soft nibbles with every word, "You are beautiful."
"Koko," Exhaling a soft moan, I found the motivation to ask, "Can we come out about us? When Ran was eyeing me, I only wanted to show him that I'm yours."
"I know how you feel. That damn Ran needs put on a leash," He was annoyed by what happened earlier, too, smiling into my eyes through the mirror, "I agree that he needs to learn that you're mine."
That's all that needed to be said, turning around in his arms to kiss him. We didn't have a lot of time to be affectionate with one another, so I took the opportunity, cooing between kisses:
"You're the only one I want, Koko."

moodboard | masterlist | previous | chapter 4
Pretty is what Kurokawa Izana would use to describe Kaneko Maya. She was so pretty. Kaneko Maya was cute, funny, pretty and just Manjiro's type. Had his younger brother not been a depressed little shit right now, Izana would have gotten Ran to gift her to Manjiro. Even if he did now, Izana doubts Manjiro would even do anything. He heard that depression affects the libido. Even before he was admitted into this shitty psychiatric hospital, no matter how many hostess bars he took Manjiro to, how many hookers he called over, how many strip clubs— Manjiro was just bored. For a while, he thought the guy was probably a nervous virgin who only knew how to fight but after a drunken conversation with Sanzu Haruchiyo, Manjiro's childhood friend, he finds out that was in fact not the case. Manjiro was pretty popular with the girls when they were in middle school(due to his shoulder-length blonde hair and girls having a huge thing for pretty boys with the deep voices). Manjiro was 100%, not a virgin and just depressed as hell. "Kakucho" Izana says holding the flip phone against his ear "How's everything going?"
Friday came by pretty quickly as usual. "It's fine as usual. You'll be out on Monday. Are you excited?" Kakucho, his childhood and right-hand man asks
Izana leans back in his shitty bed and stares out the window. It's about 10:30 am, the sun is still rising. "Yeah, about time. If it wasn't for the cute little doctor that gives me company during her night shift, would've gone fuckin' crazy for real"
"That sounds unprofessional" Kakucho mutters in disappointment
Izana laughs. "It's actually not like that. Cute kid, fresh outta uni"
Kakucho laughs. It's rare to hear Kakucho laugh. "I don't believe that one-bit Izana"
"Well, you better. Kaneko Maya, real eye candy" Izana hums and stares up at the white ceiling and starts to ramble about her "talks a lot and y’know I usually hate girls that yap but she's a real cutie. Thinkin' she can fix me and shit. It’s so fuckin’ cute. She's got this little notebook she takes notes on when she talks to me. Nosey as fuck but real cute. Got these blowjob eyes—"
"She's a psychiatrist, she's supposed to be nosey," Kakucho cuts him off before he can get vulgar, simultaneously ignoring the number of times Izana used the word cute to describe his psychiatrist "What did you say her name was again?"
Izana scoffs. "You gonna do a background check on my little doctor Kakucho? This late in too? 'M leavin' Monday"
"It's my job"
Of course, it was. Kakucho was protective. Overprotective at times. It was one of the reasons Izana kept him around. To feel wanted(and because he cared about him but Izana won't say that out loud). "Kaneko Maya. How 'bout ya’ tell me what cha' find when you're done"
"Of course"
And they end the phone call not long after. Izana sits in silence for a while and sighs tiredly. He stares down his left arm with the iv in it. Apparently whatever medication was being given to him was essential to his recovery but he really fuckin' hated it. He felt like actual shit. Tired all the time, sleepy as shit. He hated it. Oh well, he was getting out this Monday anyway. He had been here for 2 months and Maya had only been working here for a month. Perhaps had she been here the whole time the first month would have been more bearable as well. He was leaving Monday anyway. Maybe if Maya was that kind of girl she'd take up the offer of coming to his beach house and maybe she'd even put Manjiro in a good mood with those cute puppy eyes she has. After all, Manjiro has always had a fixation on cute and pretty things and Izana knew him long enough to know that. Izana hears his door click and inwardly sighs in annoyance at whoever was going to enter his room. He glares at the door but his harsh gaze immediately turns into one of surprise when seeing his night shift doctor. "what are you doing here?" He asks, narrowing his eyes at Maya
Maya is wearing her blue scrubs, her white doctor's coat sleeves folded to her elbows. She's got the pager clipped to her belt, the key bracelet thing around her wrist and her ID card securely clipped to the breast pocket on her coat. "wow no hi or good morning or how are you?" Maya asks sarcastically, the door shutting with a click behind her
Her eyes are slightly red and she looks exhausted. Her hair is tied back in a bun with a few curly strands framing her face. "Hi, good morning, how are you?" Izana says sarcastically then changes immediately to a more serious and authoritative tone "You ended your shift 6 hours ago. Go home"
Maya's shift starts from 9 pm to 4 am, she brings the patients dinner because the nurses pushed the job onto her, brings the trays back and down to the kitchen, then comes back up and sticks around as there wasn't much to do unless one of the patients/criminals, needed something which wasn't often. "Yeah... But I fell asleep in the breakroom after my shift and the old man in charge of the morning told me to take his shift and went home before I could say anything" she complained and plopped down on the chair and bolted down on the floor by his bed "I complained to the director but he told me that since I was here anyway I should just take the shift and he'd paid me extra"
Izana can't help but roll his eyes. She really wanted to pay off those loans huh? "I think that's called exploitation" He says
Which is huge coming from Izana considering what he does for a living. "Yeah but... Money" she shrugs "I get to leave at lunchtime though and don't have to come back for the night shift"
"Oh gee! How great!" Izana says sarcastically once again
Izana feels a bit odd being annoyed about the fact that his doctor is being taken advantage of. He's known her for a month and he knows she's kind and these other shitty old people employed here liked to take advantage of her kindness. To make it worse she rarely complained about it. Oh well, at least he gets to see her longer and talk to her for longer. "Haven't seen those before" Izana says looking at the two necklaces she was wearing
One was a gold oval pendant with a delicate border and the outline of a flower in the center of it. The second necklace, also gold, was a small butterfly pendant. Cute. "What's the thing in the center of the coin?" He asks "A rose?"
Maya looks down at her necklace and realizes they are untucked. It was a huge safety hazard considering she could be choked. But Sunshine Grove was a shitty psychiatric hospital and none of the employees really took safety seriously(Maya neither) so they rarely removed jewelry and just kept things like necklaces tucked under their clothes. "Ah~ it's a daffodil," Maya tells him, touching the pendant "my birth flower. My birthday's in March"
Izana chuckles. How cute. "Your birth flower, hm..."
One thing Izana liked about Maya was that she tended to ramble about random things that interested her. "Oh oh have you heard that greek myth story about daffodils?" She asks
Izana would usually be annoyed at this kind of rambling but perhaps Maya had the privilege to just talk. Pretty privilege is what Ran calls it. Izana forgot what he meant since he usually tunes whatever Ran says, out but he figures maybe this is what it is. "So basically there was this guy Narcissus. He was supposedly really good-looking. But he never found anyone that could attract him. He left a long trail of distressed and broken-hearted maidens, and one or two young men fell as well" she giggles a bit then continues the story "Then, one day, he happened to see his own reflection in a pool of water and, thus, discovered the ultimate in unrequited love and fell in love with himself. Obviously, this one-way relationship went nowhere, and Narcissus, unable to draw himself away from the pool, pined away in despair until he finally died of thirst and starvation"
Izana raises a brow. "What?"
"Yeah, and he turned into a daffodil. So another name for daffodils is Narcissus"
Izana can't help but laugh. What a stupid story. "I'm guessing this shitty story has a moral like all Greek myths"
Maya nods. "I think it was a warning not a moral. Something like ‘love and obsession lie closer together than we think’ or something"
Oh. Time passes by when Maya rambles. She was honestly the highlight of his day or well, night. But right now it was the day so she was the highlight of his day. He figures that since she's here right now she won't be here tonight and since it was Friday he won't see her till Monday. He’ll stay a while before he leaves on Monday to say goodbye. Time passes by fast and soon comes lunch. "You know doctor, if there's one thing I'll miss about this shitty place it'll be you talking my ear off" Izana says playfully
Maya laughs. "really well—" she pauses taking in his word "what do you mean? I'm still gonna be working here y'know"
"I'm leaving Monday. Getting discharged and will be back to my normal life" He tells her with a grin "what are you gonna miss me?"
He's being playful but the expression on Maya's face makes him confused. Why is she looking at him like that. He watches her pull out the little notebook of her's and flip through the pages. Izana watches as she mutters something to herself and all he hears are little curse. "Hey, doctor... What's wrong?" He asks in confusion
Why was this her reaction? Maya gets up and walks over to where his IV bag was hung up. She looks long and hard at the bag then turns to him. She's standing right next to him. She rarely gets this close. "You're leaving on Monday?" she repeats with a frown “like discharged and going home?”
Izana is starting to get worried and a bit aggravated, not understanding why she's looking at him like that. As far as he knew she knew nothing about him or what he did. So why was she giving him that look? "Doctor. I'd like to know why you're looking at me like that" Izana says slowly
He isn't nervous. Not at all. A man like him isn't nervous. He's concerned. There's a huge difference between the two emotions. He watches Maya take a breath. "Um... Mr. Kurokawa..." She pauses and looks at him nervously "What... What are you here for? What are you admitted here for?"
That question confuses him. Why was she asking him that? Shouldn't she know? "You should know what I'm here for" He tells her lowly, narrowing her eyes at him "You're my—"
"Mr. Kurokawa" Maya says, her voice a bit breathy
She looks scared almost and it's starting to annoy the hell out of Izana. "Cocaine addiction. Now tell me why you're making that face"
Maya looks nervous, scared and confused. So many different emotions swirl around in her eyes. "So... You're not a convicted criminal?"
He was 100% a criminal but not a convicted one. No one has caught him yet but Maya didn't need to know that. "No and why does that relate to this?"
Maya looks like she might throw up. "You're here for addiction but you're on the fourth floor and not second" She says
"Why should I be on the second floor?" He asks, his voice demanding and angry
Maya sucks in a breath. "second floor is where patients admitted for addiction stay... You're on the fourth floor where the convicted criminals who got off by claiming insanity"
Oh. Oh… Maya chews nervously at her bottom lip. She looks like she might throw up and Izana is pissed. He's fucking pissed. He watches Maya pat her pockets and she pulls out a piece of gauze and then takes his hand. He's about to ask what she's doing but then she puts the gauze pad over the insertion site as gently as she can. She starts to pull it out, increasing pressure as she smoothly withdraws the catheter. Izana stays silent and watches her stick a bandaid to the area. "keep pressure on it for a few minutes" she mumbles and grabs the IV bag
Izana puts his thumb over his wrist where the IV was inserted and watches her. She looked like she was going to be sick and it was pissing him off. What the hell? Maya is about to leave but he stops her. "Doctor... If this is what I think it is..." Izana says slowly
Maya just shakes her head and leaves his room. Izana narrows his eyes, staring at the door. He looks down at his wrist where the IV was just taken out of and was now replaced with a bandage. He stares for a moment longer then pulls out the flip-phone again and calls Kisaki.
"What's this?" Maya threw the half-empty IV bag onto the hospital director's desk
The hospital director, Doctor Nakamura, narrows his eyes at her. "I don't appreciate you coming in without knocking Doctor Kaneko" He says lowly
Maya wasn't going to back down today. She needed answers. She may be new, she may have just graduated a few months ago but what was wrong was wrong. "Why is Mr Kurokawa on the fourth floor and not the second? He's here for cocaine addiction not for a court order" Maya was going to get her answers today "Why is he being given a sedative and that too, that high of a dose?"
She didn't care about superiority or anything. It didn't matter. Not now when a patient was clearly not being treated for what he came for. This was against the ethics of a doctor. "Doctor Kaneko..." Doctor Nakamura says, grabbing the half-empty IV bag with a dark almost crazed look in his eyes "That man... That man is evil incarnate—"
Maya rubs her temples. "Cocaine addiction does not make a man evil incarnate. You run a psychiatric hospital you can’t say things like that. Whatever it is you did, whatever it is you're doing is wrong" Maya says sternly
This was making her sick. She couldn't believe this. She knew Sunshine Grove was shitty with how they'd push all the work onto her but she didn't think it was so shitty that they'd give a patient a drug they didn't even need. This was disgusting. "Doctor Kaneko. You don't know what he did. this is much deeper than cocaine addiction"
"He's getting out on Monday! Mr. Kurokawa has been here for 2 months" Maya argues "If he did something so bad, he wouldn't be leaving. He'd be in jail"
Doctor Nakamura doesn't look like he has the patience for this. But Maya doesn't either. What was wrong, was wrong. "Listen Miss Kaneko..." He says slowly, now looking very aggravated, no longer using her proper title "We'll have this conversation on Monday when your shift starts. How about you go home? You must be exhausted"
It wasn't a suggestion but an order. "Unless you want to start looking for another hospital that will hire you, Miss Kaneko"
Maya feels a lump rise in her throat. No. Nonononono. No. She can't lose her job. She can't. She stares at Doctor Nakamura with wide eyes. This wasn't fair. She was trying to do the right thing and— shit. She opens her mouth to say something, to try and argue, to at least give him a threat of reporting him for mistreating Kurokawa Izana but nothing comes out. Maya feels powerless. It was between her livelihood and her morals. Was this what her mother meant? Was this what she meant when she said it was hard to be a doctor? Maya thought psychiatrists were different. She thought... She thought... This wasn't fair. She clenches his fists and lowers her head. "Yes sir" she says in defeat and promptly leaves the office
Maya walks back to the lockrooms with her head down. She feels like shit. She can't believe she gave in that easily. She hates herself. She can't even get herself to go back up to Izana's room and give him an explanation. She's horrible. She's a shit person and she knows that the guilt is gonna make her sick till she throws up. Maya pulls her hair out of the bun and runs her fingers through it angrily as she walks into the locker room without paying attention to her surroundings. stupidstupidstupidstupidstupidstupidstupidstupidstupidstupid— "shit!"
Maya looks up at realizes she just had her book main character moment where she bumps into the really hot guy's rock-hard chest. The guy no doubt was very hot. He's a security guard by the looks of the uniform but doesn't look like anyone she's seen on duty before. He has black hair parted in the center, olive-toned skin and heterochromatic eyes, one red and the other silver. But what really caught Maya's eye was the scar on his face. Starting from his left ear, going over the corner of his left(silver) eye then up across his forehead and disappearing into his hairline. Maya stops staring and lowers her gaze. "S-sorry" she stutters out "I wasn't watching where I was going. My bad"
He's tall and oh... Wow, he's well-built. Maya has to will herself to tear her gaze away from his chest. This guy 100% had a fricken six-pack underneath that uniform. "It's fine..." He pauses and looks at her up and down "You look tired Doctor"
Maya laughs nervously. Oh man, this guy was hot. It's almost making her forget about the guilt. Oh wait, nope she remembered it again. "Well, I'm new and you know, these oldies like pushing their work onto the newbies," She says with a shrug "I'm going home right now though... I haven't seen you around though"
The man is staring at her ID card pinned to her coat. "Hm.. Yeah, I am... I'll be taking the night shift from now on. 4th floor. They're just gonna be showing me around today"
Maya's eyes light up. New eye candy for the 4th floor now that Izana was leaving? Okay, maybe that makes her feel a little better. "Oh I work night shifts on the fourth floor too" she gives the man a friendly smile "I'm Doctor Kaneko Maya"
The man nods. Professional but also somewhat friendly. "Hitto Kakucho. I prefer just Kakucho"
Hitto? That was an odd last name. She doesn't think she's ever heard it before. But his odd last name slipped her mind pretty quickly due to the guilt she was feeling and the unholy thoughts about Kakucho that were going through her head. Oh man, he's hot and these contrasting feelings are making her head hurt. "I'll be seeing you on Monday then Doctor" Kakucho says "Get home safe"
Maya nods and Kakucho brushes past her. The locker room is once again engulfed in silence and now all that's left is Maya's guilt. She sighs and texts Chifuyu to ask him to pick her up.
Maya sits outside in the reception area waiting for Chifuyu to come get her. She usually drives herself but last night Chifuyu insisted on driving her last night. Maya stares at the white tiled floor, sighing for the nth time. She felt like actual shit. The guilt is making her sick. Izana had been given that damn sedative for 2 months. Sometimes she'd administer it to him too. For what? For some messed up reason, she's still yet to find out. Maya feels guilty and gross and just horrible. She wants to cry. She hates this. None of this was fair. Why did it have to be her patient? Had she really just got herself caught up in something stupid all for the sake of money? Shit shit shit Maya really hated herself right now. "fuck~" she whines to herself and leans forward till her forehead touches her knees while she sits in the chair
She feels like a stupid idiot. She should have just asked Izana what he was here for on the first day instead of trying to be nice and let him open up on his own. Now look where being nice got her. Maya flinches as her phone vibrates. She gets up and grabs her bag off the floor. It was probably Chifuyu. She bids goodbye to the man at the reception and leaves the building at the sight of a black car outside. Except it's not Chifuyu leaning against the car, it's Naoto. Her cheeks flush. Of-fucking-course Chifuyu was trying to play matchmaker. Right now wasn't a good time with how sick she felt. "hey" Naoto says with a small smile
He looks shy and had it not been for her guilt, Maya knows she'd probably be feeling the same way. "H-Hey, did Chifuyu send you?" Maya asks nervously "I'm so sorry"
Naoto shakes his head and opens the passenger seat of his car. "Oh no don't worry. Was on a break anyway. Chifuyu said he was busy and told me to come"
Maya slides into the passenger seat and after making sure she's sitting comfortably he closes the door. Maya puts her bag on the floor of the car and puts on her seat belt. Naoto gets into the driver's side and starts the car. "I thought you had the night shift, what are you doing here so late?" He asks putting on his seatbelt
"They had a shortage... I'll be getting paid for overtime though so it's fine" Maya says trying to ignore the shitty feeling of guilt that just isn't going away
Oh man, she needed a drink. "You look exhausted. Should get some sleep when I drop you home" Naoto tells her as he pulls out of the parking lot and then out of the front gate of the hospital
"Yeah, I will.... gonna shower and just sleep and..." She pauses and thinks for a moment as they make it onto the main road "Can I ask you something?"
"You just did" Naoto points out with a small laugh and Maya can't help but laugh as well. "I'm kidding, ask away"
She thinks for a moment and tries her best to word her question. Perhaps getting an outside opinion would make her feel better. "You're a police officer, right? H-Has there ever been a time where you had to choose between your job or..." she pauses "Livelihood is a better word... Um... Has there ever been a time when you had to choose between your livelihood and your morals?"
Naoto looks surprised by her question. He keeps his eyes on the road as he answers. "W-well yeah... Have to all the time. Just last month I got called out on duty to arrest a woman for murder..." Naoto recalls then frowns "I asked her why she did it during interrogation she told me it was because the man raped her"
"Oh" Maya mumbles quietly
"You don't understand how badly I wanted to let her go. Murder is wrong but those cases... In those rare cases, even wrong can be right"
Maya takes in the information. She tries to apply it to her situation, to find just where the director was coming from but she couldn't. Kurokawa Izana didn't deserve that treatment. "But I have to say, Maya, if this is about work our situations are different... In other departments, things can be covered up by saying it was a fraud scam or corruption... In the medical department, however," He lowers his tone to "It's negligence of life... murder"
Maya's heart pounds. He was right. She didn't think of that. "Yeah... you're right" she mumbles
A silence washes over the car for a moment till Naoto speaks up again. "If there is something wrong at work, I can help you out"
It was a nice offer but what was she supposed to say? Where was she supposed to start? Maya feels stupid because she knows she can just tell Naoto but she can't get herself to. She feels stupid and guilty and the feeling doesn't cease even as Naoto drops her off at her place. Maya's shoulder slouch as she unlocks her door. She hates this so much. A shudder passes through her suddenly at the feeling of being watched. Maya looks around for a moment and sees no one. She shakes her head and brushes it off as stress and goes into her home, locking the door behind her.
From the other side of the street, Kisaki Tetta blows out a cloud of smoke and scoffs.
