We are excited and relieved to announce that the Speranza Marie has been removed from Santa Cruz Island!

On December 15, the Speranza Marie ran aground near Chinese Harbor on Santa Cruz Island, in Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary and Channel Islands National Park. This week, crews were able to remove Speranza Marie from the beach and deliver the hull to a recycling facility in Long Beach, CA. Crews will continue with sonar bottom surveys and further debris removal operations.

We are extremely grateful that the Speranza Marie was efficiently removed from Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary and Channel Islands National Park.
