I’m looking into getting some hatching eggs from a place not too far from here that seems really good, they have lots of rare and cool breeds.their website says they’re sold out of Faverolles but I’ll call tomorrow and find out if they’ll have them anytime soon, otherwise I’m looking at Bielefelders, Heritage Plymouth Rocks, Swedish Flower Hens, and Hedemoras, or maybe even Hmong chickens! I’m interested in these landrace breed that they have, since the chicks would likely hatch with a nice variety of colors, patterns, shapes, and features which I really like in my flock. They’re not cheap, but since I can drive there I’d save on shipping (it’s probably safer for the eggs too) and I’d really like to move away from hatchery birds and get more high-quality, healthy and friendly birds.

my man drumstick has been alone for a while after watching all of his hens murdered in front of him, one by dogs the other by...uh. well i don't know she just disappeared. i had been looking for hens i would actually want to keep, ie a white egg layer since i don't have one right now, but alas. he just needed girls. the co-op had three in their bird coops so i took em home.

I'm drafting some ideas for a short, 3-5 session Lancer mission I'd like to run for an Irish TTRPG discord, and I've decided to take one of the hooks from the KTB Field Guide (specifically, the one about running the blockade of Free Sanjak to deliver medicine). I'm currently developing a few interesting Persons/Locations for the players to interact with, and so far I've got:

A grandiose garage for holding and maintaining mechs named the Oplostásio Titánon, which is overseen by its Hoplophylax, the Underbaron Adamantia Panoplía of the House of Stone.

The Free Sanjak Solidarity Movement, a group of Khayradi activists who sympathize with Free Sanjak and organize direct action against the House of Stone.

Tenebraum Manor, the estate of Underbaron Justus Tenebraum, a Marischal of the House of Stone who collaborates with and oversees Karrakin Trunk Security's operations in maintaining the blockade.

Baronic Unified Command's Khayradin Headquarters.

I plan on developing a few more potential encounters for the players to interact with in narrative play, but I think this is a solid foundation for the time being.

You see I feel i could make the argument that nobility on a core level is just a scam in and of itself. As i fail to see how you specifically need a class of people who just have more power or rights than others, other than entrenching said class of people by siphoning wealth from the other classes and hording all the advantages of said massive wealth to the point where only that class is able to lead due to lack of investment in the other social classes

to the point that I fail to really see any practical differences between the baronies noble class and the purview's executive class. Other then the purview's system at least pretends at greater social mobility and providing, limited, but still more of it

First of all, if it is so similar to the Purview and the abuses of all of the other corpo-states, ask yourself why so many Union coreworlders are so much more concerned about civilizing the wayward Baronies than they are about culling abuses at home. It is frankly revealing how obvious the hypocrisy is when you are here lecturing to me about how Harrison Armory is so much more enlightened on this front, when they are the remnants of the SecComm that bombed civilians on Karrakis and, if leaked documents are to be believed, were the architects of mass-slaughter elsewhere. If this is the violence your social mobility requires I am uninterested in being part of it.

Second, I have found it best to explain to Unionites that this is merely another level of social organization. The corpo-states also dictate control through a nexus of heritable power, although this is in the form of wealth inheritance, Union's administrators are chosen as children and raised for the role, and likewise the noble class are schooled in the required philosophy and political theory to do administrative work from birth. Schools like the KCC and Karrakin Naval Academy also provide a sort of social mobility- I was adopted back into my house due to exemplary acts at the KCC, and I know many others who attended those schools in part to seek social mobility, and many who achieved their goals.

When you have territory as wide as the Concern and the Interest, you need someone to manage it. All other authorities, save the anarchists in Horus (who, notably do not control much at all and are known for such acts as hacking Union travel terminals to convince random people to go metavault diving, so I would not consider them paragons of good leadership) have systems for teaching their administrators early to accept the job. Karrakis simply centralizes this through the noble system, which also allows for us to excise certain ideological lineages (like the removal of House Ludra from the House of Stone's nobility) cleanly when they drive us astray. I do not think Union has been quite so good at this- otherwise why does SecComm still live in so many wide and varied places, including (it is rumored) parts of its own bureaucracy?

Before the British mandate there was no Palestine. The Ottomans ruled the territory split between various vilayets, sanjaks, or mutasarrifates, whether governed from Damascus, Beirut, Aleppo, or Jerusalem. The land as a whole was just thought of as southern Syria. Nobody used the word Palestine except Europeans, and during the British mandate the natives considered it a foreign word.

If Israel had lost in 1948 there wouldn't have ever been a Palestine. Syrians, Jordanians, and Egyptians would split it amongst themselves, and the Palestinian identity would've never even developed.

If a civil war broke out like in Syria now, hundreds of thousands of people could die and nobody in the West would care enough to protest or raise their voice, because Arabs killing Arabs is just fine. But if the Jews do it even in self-defense...
