The Only One Worth Posing For
Pairing: Matthew Gray Gubler x Female!Reader
Word Count: ~1.1k
Warnings: fluff
Summary: You're a famous photographer so you often get invited to red carpet events. Your best friend is an actor, and you've taken tons of pictures of him. The only problem is that he only poses for your camera.
Square Filled: “yeah, you’re cold. I’m giving you my jacket” for @spencerreidbingo
Author’s Note: any and all comments are appreciated <3

x
Camera? Check. Extra lenses? Check. Press pass? Check. Supply bag? Check. Gorgeous pink dress you got just for this event? Check. You check the time on your phone to make sure you’re not running late, which you’re not. Your best friend should already be at the movie premier for his new movie, and you’re one of the photographers on the red carpet.
You’re a famous photographer that takes pictures of celebrities for events like movie premiers, the Met Gala, award shows, etc. Your career started in high school when you took almost all of the pictures for the yearbooks. Then, you took pictures of your friend’s graduation pictures and got paid less than one hundred dollars for it. Once in college, you took a lot of photography classes that allowed you to hone your skills and become better.
Someone saw your pictures on your college website and loved them so they got in contact with you, and that’s how you got your first job at a magazine. It took about a decade to get to where you are now and you couldn’t be happier. Along the way, you’ve met and hung out with a ton of celebrities including your best friend. You two met back when you were the photographer for the magazine, and you’ve been inseparable ever since.
Speaking of the devil, he texts you just as you are leaving the apartment.
Are you on your way?
just leaving now! be there soon xx
I can’t wait to see you :)
The message brings a smile to your face. He never fails to lift your spirits no matter how you’re feeling. He sent for a car to take you to the movie premier instead of you taking your own. When you get there, the place is packed with press, fans, and cars carrying celebrities.
“Thank you,” you smile at the driver and get out.
You head to the booth to check in and present your press pass to her. She confirms you’re on the list before letting you inside the area where the press is located. You set your bag on the ground and take out your favorite lens to use in times like these, the kind of lens that allows you to zoom in clearly even from where you are. The more popular you got, the more expensive equipment you bought.
You got here at the right time because celebrities show up not long after you get set up. Much like everyone here, you call their names in hopes they pose for your camera. You get a lot of good shots of very iconic celebrities like Johnny Depp, Jennifer Lopez, Morgan Freeman, Julia Roberts, and Sandra Bullock. The movie did so much press to make sure it is the most popular movie which is why so many celebrities are here.
You look to the left and see your best friend walk down the red carpet with a huge smile on his face. Matthew Gray Gubler. A man of many tricks. A man who never fails to make you smile. He looks past every person who calls out his name until he finds your camera. His eyes light up and begins posing for your camera and your camera only.
“Matthew! Look over here!” one of them says but he ignores them,
‘Stop it’, you mouth to him and his smile only gets bigger. What did you expect? He always does this whenever you’re in the crowd with a camera. He only cares about you and your career. If you can get good pictures of him, then you can sell them for a lot of money. People around you are frustrated with you and him but you don’t care about them.
Matthew leaves the red carpet and joins the group of celebrities who are hanging outside before they can go inside the theater. There are only a few more celebrities to capture, then you’re packing up your things. Apart from being part of the press, Matthew invited you as his plus one.
“Are you serious with Matthew?” one of the other photographers says.
“Sorry. Maybe next time,” you shrug.
You bring your case back to the town car that is still waiting for you, and you toss your press pass into the backseat. There is no reason for you to have two outfits when you can wear your red carpet outside as one of the press. You walk back over to the same booth and check in as a guest. She gives you your guest pass and you make your way into the area where all the celebrities are.
“I’m gonna slap that motherfucker when I see him,” you joke to yourself.
“Y/N! It’s so good to see you!” Shemar Moore smiles when he sees you.
“Shemar! I thought you were still filming S.W.A.T.,” you grin and hug him.
“I couldn’t miss this premier.”
“Where is Matthew?”
“Last I saw him was by the entrance to the theater.”
“Great. I’ll see you inside.” You leave his side and go find your best friend. He’s talking to one of the younger and newer kid stars, and you slink up to his side. “Excuse me. Mind if I borrow him for a second?”
“Sure. Congratulations.”
“Thanks.”
You pull him to the side and away from everyone for some semi-privacy.
“What the hell was that back there?”
“What?” he laughs.
“You can’t keep posing for my camera only.”
“You tell me this every time, and what do I keep telling you?”
“Mine is the only one worth posing for.”
“See? It’s law at this point.”
He leans in and kisses you quickly. You two have been testing the waters for a romantic relationship for the last couple of weeks. It’s been going well because you’re taking it at your own speed without the public knowing.
“You’re gonna piss off the other photographers.”
“I don’t care.”
He pulls you in and kisses you much deeper this time. You only allow two minutes to yourselves before you pull away from him. Goosebumps litter your arms and you shiver slightly under his gaze.
“You’re shivering. Are you cold?”
“That’s not why I’m shivering,” you say and shiver again.
“Yeah, you’re cold. I’m giving you my jacket.”
He sheds his jacket and slings it over your shoulder to provide you with warmth. He slides his hand into yours and pulls you toward the entrance to the theater.
“Let’s go watch this movie. Afterward, you’re gonna let me take you home.”
“We live together,” you giggle.
“Even better.”
“You’re a dork.”
“Only for you,” he winks and kisses your cheek.

Updated stream list
Everything we've watched so far!
Longtime crowd favorites (streamed at least three times) are marked with a single asterisk.
Why isn’t [specific actor/video] on this list?
The video is currently marked not for trade.
We haven’t gotten to it yet.
The footage does not exist or is too incomplete.
It isn't on a platform I can stream it from.
There's something particularly off-putting about the video or actor.
How can I get a copy of a video listed here?
There's a list of publicly available bootlegs here, and there are many other adaptations on the Phantom Retrospective channel. Otherwise, contact @glassprism (or another trader) for a possible trade, or check her website for info on which master(s) to contact.
For general stream info, please see the Saturday Streams FAQ.

Lez Talk
A necessary and relevant addition to the Black LGBTQ literary canon, which oftentimes over looks Black lesbian Writing, Lez Talk is a collection of short stories that embraces the fullness of Black lesbian experiences. The contributors operate under the assumption that "lesbian" is not a dirty word, and have written stories that amplify the diversity of Black lesbian lives. At once provocative, emotional, adventurous, and celebratory, Lez Talk crosses a range of fictional genres, including romance, speculative, and humor. The writers explore new subjects and aspects of their experiences, and affirm their gifts as writers and lesbian women.
Black Love Matters
An incisive, intersectional essay anthology that celebrates and examines romance and romantic media through the lens of Black readers, writers, and cultural commentators, edited by Book Riot columnist and librarian Jessica Pryde. Romantic love has been one of the most essential elements of storytelling for centuries. But for Black people in the United States and across the diaspora, it hasn't often been easy to find Black romance joyfully showcased in entertainment media. In this collection, revered authors and sparkling newcomers, librarians and academicians, and avid readers and reviewers consider the mirrors and windows into Black love as it is depicted in the novels, television shows, and films that have shaped their own stories. Whether personal reflection or cultural commentary, these essays delve into Black love now and in the past, including topics from the history of Black romance to social justice and the Black community to the meaning of desire and desirability. Exploring the multifaceted ways love is seen--and the ways it isn't--this diverse array of Black voices collectively shines a light on the power of crafting happy endings for Black lovers. Jessica Pryde is joined by Carole V. Bell, Sarah Hannah Gomez, Jasmine Guillory, Da'Shaun Harrison, Margo Hendricks, Adriana Herrera, Piper Huguley, Kosoko Jackson, Nicole M. Jackson, Beverly Jenkins, Christina C. Jones, Julie Moody-Freeman, and Allie Parker in this collection.
The Black Imagination
This critical collection covers a broad spectrum of works, both literary and cinematic, and issues from writers, directors, and artists who claim the science fiction, speculative fiction, and Afro-futurist genres. The anthology extends the discursive boundaries of science fiction by examining iconic writers like Octavia Butler, Walter Mosley, and Nalo Hopkinson through the lens of ecofeminist veganism, post-9/11 racial geopolitics, and the effect of the computer database on human voice and agency. Contributors expand what the field characterizes as speculative fiction by examining for the first time the vampire tropes present in Audre Lorde’s poetry, and by tracing her influence on the horror fiction of Jewelle Gomez. The collection moves beyond exploration of literary fiction to study the Afro-futurist representations of Blacks in comic books, in the Star Trek franchise, in African films, and in blockbuster films like Independence Day, I Robot, and I Am Legend.
Meanwhile
The lived realities of young queer people in African contexts are not well documented. On the one hand, homophobic political discourse tends to portray queer people as 'deviant' and 'unAfrican', and on the other, public health research and advocacy often portrays them as victims of violence and HIV. Of course, young queer lives are far more diverse, rich and complex. For this reason, the Qintu Collab was formed to allow young queer people from a few African countries to come together, share experiences and create context-specific, queer-positive media that documents relatable stories about and for queer African youth. We see this as a necessary step in developing a complex archive of queer African life, whilst also personalising queer experiences and challenging prejudicial stereotypes. The Collab is made up of eighteen queer youth from Botswana, Kenya and Zimbabwe, two academics, three artists and a journalist. We first worked in small groups in each country through a range of creative participatory methods that focused on personal reflection and story-telling. Young people created personal timelines, and made visual maps of their bodies, relationships, and spaces. We then had group discussions about themes that emerged to help decide what to include in the comic works. At the end of 2018, we all came together in Nairobi, Kenya, for a week to collaborate on this comic book, and a set of podcasts on similar topics. We worked through various ways of telling stories, and developed significant themes, including family, religion and spirituality, social and online queer spaces, sex, and romantic relationships. Each young person created a script and laid out the scenes for a comic that told a short story from their lives. They then worked one-on-one with an artist to finesse those ideas into a workable comic, and the artists thereafter developed each story through multiple rounds of feedback from the story's creator and the rest of the group

Dolton, Illinois, Mayor Tiffany Henyard was served with another lawsuit on Thursday after a former employee claimed he was wrongfully terminated.
Former Maintenance Manager Dwayne Thrash alleged that he refused to help Henyard and her assistant Keith Freeman fire another employee, FOX 32 reported. Soon after, Thrash said he was accused of workplace violations that occurred while he was on vacation and was fired.
"Ever since Henyard became Mayor of the Village of Dolton and Supervisor of Thornton Township, she and her closest allies within the Village of Dolton and Thornton Township, including Freeman, have terminated the employment of several individuals they feel pose a political threat to Henyard and her public image, and/or who run afoul of Henyard and/or Freeman by defying their wishes," the lawsuit read.
ILLINOIS MEETING PROBING 'SUPERMAYOR' TIFFANY HENYARD'S LAVISH SPENDING DEVOLVES INTO CHAOS
Thrash alleged in his complaint that in 2023, Henyard and Freeman asked him to help fire Thornton Township Trustees of Schools’ attorney Sarie E. Winner and replace her with Del Galdo Law Group LLC, Freeman’s preferred law firm.
Thrash refused and didn't attend the special meeting that would make the change, according to the suit. Because he did not help with her "schemes and conspiracies," the alleged plan failed.
"In response thereto, Thrash told Henyard and Freeman something to the effect of ‘you want to fire everyone in the office and I’m not going to go along with that,’" the lawsuit read.
After taking a scheduled vacation, Thrash was informed that he was being terminated effective immediately for misconduct and insubordination, according to his complaint. The notice of termination stated that he failed to "punch in and out appropriately" and was disciplined for "insubordination and unsatisfactory work performance," despite it being vacation time when both infractions occurred.
The lawsuit alleged others were also fired for failing to follow Henyard or Freeman.
Thrash is requesting that three allegedly false write-ups be expunged from his record along with statutory and compensatory damages for his termination.
EMBATTLED DOLTON MAYOR TIFFANY HENYARD ACCUSED OF 'POLITICALLY TARGETING' TOWN'S OWN PARK DISTRICT
Fox News Digital reached out to Henyard’s office for a comment.
Henyard, the self-proclaimed "super mayor" of a small town south of Chicago, has made national headlines over ongoing probes into her spending. In addition to two federal investigations against her, Henyard also faces another lawsuit from a former employee alleging she was forced to work from her car and was eventually fired.
"People have really been damaged by this administration," former Thornton Township Human Resources manager Sandra Tracy told Fox News program "America’s Newsroom." "My personal situation is that I was trying very hard to get paid, and I couldn’t get anybody to respond to me — not to call, text or email." ___________________________
I'm gonna miss her when she finally winds up in jail
