since theres a lot of discussions about shipwrecks and deep sea submersibles happening right now, im just gonna quickly recommend this video which details how caladan oceanic found the samuel b roberts.

the samuel b roberts was a destroyer escort sank during the battle off samar during ww2. the wreck was found last year and is 22,621 feet/6885 metres deep which is almost 10,000 feet or 3000 metres deeper than the titanic and is currently the deepest wreck ever found.

in the video, you see a deep sea submersible (which can go down to 36,000 feet/10,973 metres) that isnt a tin can finished up with duct tape, super glue and glittery gel pens. it is piloted by an expert and they swap out pilots every day to avoid exertion or fatigue, and they have a very complex sonar system for finding wrecks. the longest they can go down is 16 hours and they keep in contact with their ship above and have to get clearance just for half an hour more.

when they find the wreck, they look around it to ensure they can identify it and map it out as well as they can, and then head back up to shore. they then hold a funeral service for those who died and leave a wreath on the ocean surface above where the wreck lays.

while im somewhat sketched out by the founder victor vescovo, the company does important work in terms of furthering our understanding of the ocean and finding wrecks which are the gravesites of those who passed. and they are not disrespectful to those whose graves lay 22,000 feet/6700 metres down on the seabed.

and what i would like to point out is how the samuel b roberts is protected against unauthorised disturbance by the sunken military craft act. you would need a permit from the naval history and heritage command (and a submarine that can withstand all the pressure) to go see it.

which, as ive said many times in the last two days, is something that the titanic should also have protection against. there should be laws in place that do not allow people to treat a mass fucking gravesite as a tourist spot.

not at fucking all! his deepest fear as mentioned before is that there is just. nothing. that he's as hollow as the farm told him he was, that he'll never fill that hole in him. also relevant, he's a fem trans man which adds a whole nother layer. he is very aware of the weakest version of himself. thats just him, all of the time.

ghost: Who or what haunts your OC? What happened? How do they live with their ghosts?

the hunger the hunger the hunger. the way ive made all my fhr steps is by choosing something that defines them wholly (eg. arbor being good, thistle being human.) and the weight of that hunger follows him through every breath. there's times where he lies awake at night, terrified that the hunger will open up beneath him and eat him whole.

why your self-concept is the foundation of your reality 🎀

welcome back, reality crafters!

in my previous post, i stated that working on your self-concept could be an important step when consciously manifesting. but why is that so? let's start from the beginning!

🎀 what is self-concept? 🎀

self-concept is essentially how you view yourself. it’s the collection of beliefs, thoughts, and assumptions you hold about who you are and what you’re capable of achieving. these beliefs influence everything—from how you approach challenges to what you feel you deserve in life. if you see yourself as successful, capable, and worthy, you’re more likely to experience those qualities reflected in your world.

all my life, i had a bad self-concept. i often believed that things didn't work out for me. this assumption created a long cycle of disappointment, where i always expected failure, and therefore attracted and even subconsciously created situations that reinforced this belief.

🎀 why is self-concept important in manifesting? 🎀

according to the law of assumption, your reality reflects your self-concept. if you believe you’re worthy of love, abundance, and success, your experiences will start to align with those beliefs. on the other hand, if your self-concept is rooted in doubt, insecurity, or unworthiness, those beliefs can limit what you attract.

your self-concept is what determines what you’re open to receiving. if you see yourself as someone who struggles or as someone unworthy of certain things, you’ll unconsciously create a reality that matches those beliefs. alternatively, by cultivating a self-concept rooted in worthiness, capability, and confidence, you naturally align with a life that reflects those qualities.

when you upgrade your self-concept to match the life you want, you clear the path for your desires to manifest naturally. improving your self-concept isn’t just about “feeling better” about yourself—it’s about aligning your inner beliefs with the life you’re choosing to create.

before taking this journey seriously, i bumped into several manifestation tips and techniques here and there, but never believed that they would work for me because "things never turn out good for me". so as a result, i never got any manifestations. now that i believe that i am worthy of good things and believe in conscious manifesting, having successes has become much easier!

🎀 how do i improve my self-concept? 🎀

☙❏ identify limiting beliefs

make a list of any thoughts or beliefs that don’t align with the person you want to be. for instance, beliefs like “i’m not good enough” or “things never work out for me.” awareness is the first step.

☙❏ affirm your new self-concept

create affirmations that reflect the self-concept you want to adopt, like “i am deserving of love and success,” “i am capable of achieving my dreams,” or “i am confident and secure in who i am.” repeat these daily.

in the beginning, i robotically affirmed that i am loved, i am worthy, i am beautiful, i only deserve good things, i am enough, i radiate love and i attract love, etc. it was hard first believing these assumptions. but now i barely actively affirm because i truly believe these assumptions to be true. in just two and a half months, i have already seen massive improvements in my life, and people close to me are seeing them too!

☙❏ visualize yourself as your ideal self

take a few minutes each day to imagine yourself embodying your desired self-concept. visualize yourself as confident, successful, loved—whatever traits you’re aiming to manifest.

☙❏ live as if

start acting and thinking like the version of yourself you want to become. make decisions as though you already possess the qualities you desire. for example, if you’re manifesting confidence, start carrying yourself confidently even before it feels natural.

☙❏ revise past experiences

if there are memories that negatively impact your self-concept, practice “revision” by reimagining those memories in a way that aligns with your new self-concept.

☙❏ practice self-compassion

remember, changing your self-concept is a journey. be kind to yourself, especially when you slip back into old beliefs. self-compassion helps reinforce that you’re worthy and capable.

🎀 examples of common limiting, negative self-concept beliefs transformed into empowering, positive ones 🎀

negative: "i’m not good enough." positive: "i am more than enough and worthy of everything i desire."

negative: "things never work out for me." positive: "everything is always working out in my favor."

negative: "i’ll never find true love because i’m unlovable." positive: "i am deeply lovable and worthy of a fulfilling, happy relationship."

negative: "other people have it easier than i do." positive: "i am capable of creating my own path to success and happiness."

negative: "i’m not smart enough to achieve my dreams." positive: "i have all the intelligence and talent i need to succeed."

negative: "i can’t change because i’ve always been this way." positive: "i am constantly evolving and can become whoever i choose to be."

negative: "i’m a burden to others." positive: "i am valuable and worthy of love, support, and connection."

negative: "i’m unlucky." positive: "i attract good fortune and positive experiences into my life."

negative: "no one respects or values me." positive: "i am respected, valued, and appreciated by those around me."

negative: "i’m too flawed to succeed." positive: "my unique qualities and strengths make me destined for success."

you can change the affirmations in a way that resonates with you and feels more natural to you. you create your reality!

🎀 embrace your power 🎀

improving your self-concept is one of the most powerful things you can do to enhance your manifesting journey. by nurturing positive, empowering beliefs about yourself, you create a solid foundation for your desires to manifest naturally. remember, you have the power to choose how you see yourself. each positive shift in your self-concept brings you closer to a reality that reflects your worth, strength, and potential.

believe you’re deserving of love, success, and abundance. trust in your abilities, skills, and decisions. treat yourself with respect, compassion, and kindness. feel safe and stable within yourself, regardless of external situations. believe you’re in control of your own life and able to create desired outcomes. most importantly, persist, even if you might not believe right away. persisting is key.

some favourite shots I did for episode 6... it was so fun crafting the final bridge scene from Travis' script, and seriously all the credit for the amazing opening seq goes to our EP Aaron for taking the emotion in Yaz's exposure therapy to the next level!

Inspo for this ep mainly came from the Alebrijes attack and car chase boards from the Coco blu-ray deleted scenes. Seriously yall, if you're an aspiring board artist, go watch those, they're all masterclasses in camera, framing, and acting.

Some thoughts below about these boards if yall are interested...

Becklespinaxes - there was a LOT of research that went into becklespinaxes (aka altispinaxes) to make this bridge scene happen. In the original script, there was the idea that Blondie (the yellow becklespinax) would be ramming and spinning the side of the van all over the bridge from the beginning, all while ben was still driving forward and Sammy was trying to climb the side latter of the van and into Yaz's window. - I think in writing it made for a really rad scene, but there were some concerns that the physics of all of that, as well as some staging issues, so I dove into becklespinax research to see if some of these problems could be fixed by grounding the conflict in the dino's hunting/attack styles - From what I can remember, as a mid-sized theropod, the becklespinax would've hunted small sauropods and the like, not van-sized dinos, so having her ramming the side of the van was out. Instead, I theorized the becklespinax would more likely be interested in rooting out the tastey treats inside, like a bird fishing out grubs from inside a tree or log. Thus, Blondie jamming her head into the window was born - From there on I tried to keep the van-and-dino physics and behaviours as grounded as possible, but i'll be the first to admit that physics was never my strong suit and sometimes the plot's just gotta come first over science

One detail I loved that unfortunately seemed to get passed over in animation was the way the second becklespinax, Brownie, entered the shot from behind the camera, and covered up the "NOW LEAVING DINOSAUR FREE ZONE" to just be "NOW DINOSAUR ZONE". Corny, I know! But it felt right and I was heartbroken to see that it wasn't caught in time to be able to go back and change it

About boards, an interesting thing to keep in mind was that even though this bridge may seem like a pretty isolated and simple set, there were actually several moments/shots that I didn't end up using because they revealed too much of the background, specifically the exterior island set and the exterior mainland sets that connected to the bridge! That's right, in the actual set models, those parts are just the cliff ledges and a bit on the sides, everything else would have to be what's called a paintover. That's something for aspiring storyboard artists to keep in mind about working on 3D TV shows: the sets come before storyboards in the pipeline, so often you have to make what you want to do work to the set, and not the other way around like in feature!
