Stretchers would help. There are also rescue blankets and so on. Ways to avoid straining existing injuries.
(Tsunade can just slap someone with a Katsuyu clone, too, which considerably simplifies things.)
Though even in the series she’s more familiar with, Kei would be justified just carrying an unconscious person via piggyback. Kakashi carried Naruto all the way back from the Valley of the End, after all.
Physics vs. Writer Workflow: Fight!
So, in basically any real-life rescue scenario, there are a lot of reasons not to move someone who’s unconscious or injured, and most of them come back to the possibility of injuring the victim worse. Stretchers exist.
That said.
This is a comic book setting, Kei and Hayate both have super strength (varying), and it’s way faster to describe piggybacking someone than the mechanics of actual, proper ways to transport unconscious people.
The really funny thing is that I’m sure this particular brick wall of writer-mode thoughts wouldn’t matter to anyone else, really.

@samejazzed replied to your post “So much angst in your Submas Zoroark au. Emmet...”:
Would that mean that Ingo is literally the most powerful Pokemon in the region lv wise?
...pretty much, yeah. add in his Sneasel baby acquired poison immunity and you have the most broken Zoroark in the entire Hisui region... and possibly the world?

I remember watching hbombergy's RWBY is Disappointing (And Here's Why) and he had mentioned something to the effect that RWBY was like 6 show in one, and that many story beats where taken out of Avatar the Last Airbender? And you mentioned similarities to Attack on Titan in season 8, do you think something similar is happening?
As a quick disclaimer, I don’t intend for this to specifically be a response to hbomerguy’s vid. I only watched it once and would need to re-familiarize myself with his sections on AtLA in order to actually comment on his arguments. However, just regarding those general similarities and my own comment about AoT, I do think “something is happening,” though not anything inherently negative. The fandom tends to see one very good show (AtLA), one struggling show (RWBY), find any common ground between them, and then make claims that RWBY is unsuccessfully stealing from its better written predecessors. But these moments of common ground are, frankly, incredibly broad. The sort of commonalities you could find between any long-running shows of somewhat similar genres. As an example of how meaningless this is, I’ve seen claims that:
Weiss is a ripoff of Zuko because of her scar, daddy issues, and breaking from that toxic family environment
Cinder is a ripoff of Zuko because of the fire abilities and fans’ assumption that she may get a redemption arc, taking that secondary antagonist and making her an unlikely ally
Adam is a ripoff of Zuko because of his branded face and bad boy attitude, except he was killed off before he could ever get his redemption arc
So wait, they’re all Zuko?
You see how we can take any somewhat similar writing choice and map it onto another character with the same somewhat similar writing choice, making the claim that they’re really just a worse version of them? Zuko is such a cultural icon at this point that his influence is assumed to be everywhere, making it impossible for creators to reference any of his distinctive traits now without drawing comparisons. You use fire magic? You’re Zuko. Injured face in any way? Zuko. Problems with your father? Zuko. Edgy attitude? Zuko. Redemption arc? Zuko! It’s inescapable, in the same way that every fantasy story with war and political schemes is now labeled the next Game of Thrones ripoff. At some point we have to acknowledge that these traits are just that: traits any character can have without being a “rip off” of one that came before them. Unless we want to say that from here on out no one can be written with one of those traits again or, heaven forbid, two or more at the same time. This happened with Todoroki from My Hero Academia and  — you guessed it  — Zuko. Horikoshi has stated at least twice that the similarities are a coincidence, a reminder that it is possible for two distinct creators to conceive of a child with fire powers who has an abusive dad and a scar on his face... especially given that it’s more likely a creator will choose a father to be the abuser and, if you want to show that abuse in a horrifying way, burning their face is the easiest, visual cue! But because AtLA was such a success, fans are inclined to believe that anyone who does something similar, whether successfully or not, is just trying to hitch a ride on the cash train.
Which isn’t to say that RWBY hasn’t drawn inspiration from other media (it’s literally based on well known fairy tales...) or even that the crew isn’t knowingly trying to recreate successful story beats (which at a certain point would just be using tropes, archetypes, etc.) What I am saying is that I’m wary of these “RWBY is just AtLA only worse” takes because it’s clearly... not. They are two very distinct shows. For every similarity we can point to, we can point to another two differences, as well as a third text that does the same basic thing, because that’s just how genres work. When I say something like “RWBY is 6 shows in one” I mean it as, “RWBY has too much going on and can’t settle on a single theme/message/genre to work towards,” not “RWBY looks like these six other shows in certain ways and that’s bad.” I actually wish I hadn’t brought up AoT in the recap, just because it’s clearly been confusing for readers. I meant it simply as a personal reaction: “This makes me think of a similar moment in AoT where I, as an individual, lost interest because of how uncomfortable the story now made me. Sure hope the same thing doesn’t happen with RWBY,” not as a condemnation like, “RWBY is stealing AoT’s plot points!”
Basically, proving that a story has “taken” beats/character traits from another story is incredibly hard to prove and I’m personally not inclined to hurl that as an accusation lightly, not when stories naturally overlap as they do. If that were the case, then any future character we see with a scythe will have been “stolen” from RWBY... never mind that it’s a semi-common fantasy/anime weapon with a long history attached to it, well before RWBY’s time, and this hypothetical new character will, inevitably, be their own person, even if we can spot some other similarities between them an Ruby (they have red in their wardrobe, gradient hair, a bubbly attitude, a dead mom, etc.)
So the only thing(s) I’d say that’s going on is:
RWBY is a show already built on a certain level of homage/transformation
Stories, especially stories belonging to the same genre(s), will naturally overlap in many ways
RWBY is thus indeed like other shows... but so is every other show in existence. Its problem is more that it can’t settle and successfully develop any one idea
Despite all this, the fandom (justifiably) frustrated with RWBY tends to find one or two broad-stroke similarities with a well written show and go, “RWBY is just trying to steal from ____ and can’t even do it well,” but that’s both inaccurate and a huge simplification of what’s going on

@samejazzed
Oh absolutely. She’ll drag Ingo and Emmet to abandoned warehouses and other “spooky” places because, see, Akari remembers playing Pokémon Platinum. She KNOWS human ghosts are a very Real thing and not all dead people turn into ghost Pokémon.
And she wants to find them.
Essentially, Emmet’s Ryan and Akari and Ingo are both Shane. (Except Akari believes in human ghosts.) Akari WILL provoke human ghosts and Ingo thinks it’s hilarious and does it with her. Ingo’s Chandelure joins in because she’s actually more likely capable of communicating with real spirits and pissing them off.
Emmet DOES NOT want his soul to be eaten by demons thank you very much!!! STOP IT YOU TWO.

Ok but imagine if people in modern times find Ingo right before he's supposed to wake up again. They tell Emmet "I'm sorry. We found your brother's body. It was buried at X location." (presumed dead at first bc gems dont need to breathe) Except then Ingo wakes up wherever they moved him to and he just leaves.
How do you tell someone their brother's body got up and walked away
asdfghjkl, that's one of those moments where there's no good answer to a question.
On a slightly more serious note, I don't think Arceus would just stuff a body underground and leave it while doing remote transformations to the person in question.
Somewhat inspired by this reply on a previous post from @samejazzed
Tumblr media
Ingo is out cold and unaware of what's going on around him, yes. But it's because Arceus is taking his time making sure he's got the formula/abilities down before sending him off again.
And I think Ingo would probably be more of a Gem-Hybrid than a "Pure" Gem, so there are still squishy bits inside and normal vital signs to be found. Plus being powered by sunlight/light would be difficult for Ingo's health. You know, considering he and Emmet spend most, if not all, of their time in underground subway tunnels. Allowing for eating and sleeping as a refueling method is just better for his health in the long run.
There are plenty of legendary/mythical pokemon that spend their dormancy time in inanimate objects, so I can see Arceus doing the same sort of thing with Ingo's gem.
(A prime example would be the dragons from Black and White!)
So Ingo spending those years dozing away inside his gem seems perfectly reasonable to me.
(Also, not sure about a custom legendary for making new gems, but it might be fun if Arceus tucked the ability into Ingo himself to do that. Like if people he was close enough to fuse with could potentially become gems when they separated. If that was something they wanted/were down with happening to them and Ingo was cool with happening.)

@samejazzed Is this why he has Hot-Chocolate all the time? To remind Glynda of those days?
LMAO YES PLEASE
It just occurred to me that the idea that Ozpin was a student/headmaster at fourteen feels really weird, but that's basically what would be happening with Oscar in a less crazy world. Which...I still don't agree with, personally? Like, yes, it's important for the one person who knows what's going on in the world to be in a position of power, but like...did NO ONE find it odd that this little boy that's not even done with puberty is a head of a school?
This is why I hc him as a student at 14 and headmaster at 21. The age isn’t completely unreasonable, to me, and while the headmaster age is still very young, it’s still possible. But yes, it’s basically a parallel with Oscar, who is now thrown into combat situations at 14–except not in a controlled educational environment.

@samejazzed replied to your post “Hey if you want to make it a little more fucked...”:
Is Emmet wearing Ingo's clothing? does he remember his name? do Ingo's clothes have name tags?
I think Emmet would remember his name, at least!!!
I do think that Ingo swapped out his and Emmet’s hats and coats. He kept his own, tucked away in a little bundle in the den he eventually makes for himself with Lady Sneasler’s help... a little reminder of his old life.
(He just hopes Emmet doesn’t question too much why he woke up in black pants and not white. Since you know. He wasn’t going to take off his brother’s pants in front of the god of the distortion world. Thankfully Emmet wakes up with temporary amnesia and doesn’t remember to question that part until later.)

@samejazzed replied to your post “Emmet in Ingos body getting back to unova and...”:
Just thinking about the Depo agents, their bosses go missing for years(?) probably scamble for a replacement, there is no one that can really replace them, then they come back, one is in the body of the other, an the other one is a ghost Pokémon… are they both ghosts? The depo Agent asks themselves did they come back from their peaceful rest because they are failing to keep the battle subway running? When Emmet accidentally sneaks up on a agent, there is a scream
God what a wild experience for the Depot Agents, because the twins definitely don’t make it super public what happened to them. And I think more people figure out the whole ‘Ingo is a Zoroark now’ thing than they figure out the ‘Emmet is in Ingo’s body now’ thing, but the Depot Agents who have been around for a long time definitely pick up on the subtle differences between Emmet before he disappeared and the Emmet after he disappeared. And it truly is just so mystifying!! What the hell happened???
also lmao... the two of them coming back from the grave fucked up and wrong just bc they weren’t happy about the fate of the Battle Subway is definitely a popular theory, bc again, they don’t tell anyone save for those close to them what actually happened. It’s a wild time to work for the Battle Subway!
Unless you’re a new employee and you’re just like ‘it’s weird that Boss Ingo is a Zoroark but Boss Emmet seems pretty normal’ while the veterans are just furiously shaking their heads in the background.

Have you braved LFR yet? For Castle Nathria I mean.
I have! Though only the first wing a few weeks ago. My computer is throwing another fit and decided it doesn’t want to handle WoW right now, so I’m taking a break to play some other games it has allowed me to enjoy lol.
I actually rely on LFR to do most any raiding and my experience with the first wing (3 times through) was pretty decent. Sure, we wiped once or twice as stragglers figured out what to do, but on the whole it went well and no one was yelling! Gotta love when that happens...

Dono if I have asked this before, but have you done Torghast? If so, what are your thoughts? And is the Maw appropriately hellish for a Warcraft hell?
I have! I’ve run Torghast a fair bit now. Enough to get my first legendary and 3,000 more soul ash for when I finally get my crafting up enough to make the next level. Personally, I find the runs enjoyable (if a bit repetitive) though they can quickly become frustrating depending on the door and what mobs you get. As a beast master hunter I’ve got a decent handle on soloing most of it, but then I’ll get a boss that kills my pet too fast for me to heal (and I can’t re-establish agro afterwards), or a boss that does some sort of aoe and I’m finished. Like Maw of the Maw? Can’t touch him. I just don’t have the dps or heals to keep up with that.
So it’s fun... except when you fail spectacularly and then you have nothing to show for it. And that’s still a distinct possibility even if you grab a friend (which I’ve done) or group up, just because of the scaling. Torghast is a real time investment with an iffy shot at a reward. So if I were to change anything, it would be to have some sort of consolation prize. It could be a little bit of soul ash, anima, gold, gear, whatever, just something so that I’m not going, “Wow. I literally spent over an hour working through that and have nothing to show for it.” After the number of runs I’ve done, I don’t think it’s fun enough to warrant not getting something out of it.
(The other thing I’d do is add new dialogue when you inevitably save the same NPCs over and over. Like dude...HOW are you captured again lol)
I admittedly haven’t thought much about whether I think the Maw is “appropriately hellish” for WoW or not - in terms of aesthetics and storyline - but I do think it poses a suitable challenge. I was telling friends during the introductory parts of the expansion how easy Shadowlands was... only to promptly get my ass kicked once I had access to places like Perdition Hold. As frustrating as the restrictions can be at times, I quite like how limiting the Maw feels. Your mounts can’t follow you in. There are no mailboxes. The Jailer actually poses a threat (or at least a pretty severe inconvenience) and you can’t stay forever to farm rep. It all feels like I’ve entered a crazy dangerous space I’m not supposed to be in.
Also? Ve’nari is great. All the other brokers are like, “Omg don’t trust her!” and I’m just:

Have you had a chance to try out the new raid? Have you had a chance to enter Castle Nathria? You had mentioned liking Ravendreth...
I haven’t yet! I wanted to start this week since I finally got my item level up to 180, but I prefer using the Looking For Raid function, which I believe comes out for Castle Nathria on Tuesday. I’m a pretty casual player and new raids scare me, so I prefer to dive into them on the easiest level possible :D
But I am so looking forward to punching Denathrius in the face. Or, more accurately, riddling him with arrows lol

@samejazzed No because Akari is literally from our regular non-Pokémon world and she would never do that here, so why would she do that there? Even if it were considered socially acceptable in the Pokémon world, she’d find it very weird and Not Okay. Also, while game mechanics help her, and she does have some anime protagonist privileges, she’s very aware that the people in this world are sentient and not just some random NPCs from a game with pre-coded dialogue.
She’s not gonna treat other people like game characters. Like, sure, she’s a crime gremlin, and she enjoys psychological warfare, BUT! She’s not going to do anything like break into a person’s house and steal things? It’s just... a line she doesn’t want to cross. In battling, her strategies are just for winning the battles. Her “crime” of going around with a bunch of Pokémon is because she loves them and doesn’t want to be parted from them. She doesn’t want to do bad things for no other reason than to be bad.
