I'm back to reading Sam/Dean fics again and I gotta say my favourite ship in the fandom is Sam Winchester/apocalyptic Dean even though it's not something a lot of people have written about.

Endverse Dean knows what it's like to live (if you can call it living) in a world without Sammy and has gotten the time to realize and regret all the mistakes he made with Sam.

All the things he said/did and can't take back.

And then he time-travels to season 5 and gets to make everything right again with Sam, even though his past-alternate self keeps fucking everything up.

Clingy Dean who had to live without his soulmate for years/clingy sam who thinks his brother hates him makes for the perfect hurt/comfort fic, honestly.

Meanwhile, you've got Dean from the original timeline being jealous (because hey, that's his Sammy!) and not understanding how his other self is so open about his love for Sam.

Endverse Dean probably regrets turning down all the chick flick moments from before and regrets not having held Sam when he still had the chance... now that he finally has his little brother back? He's going to do everything right this time. Even if this Sammy already has a Dean, even if quitting hunting is what makes Sam happy.

People, sorry for this random question, but I'm curious: I'm rewatching supernatural and I'd like to know if you see Dean as a top or a bottom (It doesn't matter who you ship him with, in this post we don't discriminate anyone)

its a vastly different feeling from how he felt eyeing pretty women at bars than when he lost just enough self control to let himself check out sam (probably some time in the summer before he left for Stanford, the knowledge that he’ll be even more alone than he already is settling in); whose bent over a pool table trying to hassle money from an old southern guy with more bald spots than patches of hair at this point, while dean got them another round.

dads on a hunt across a different state line, with less words than usual before he left; just a gruff repeat of practically the only words he and dean exchange anymore, “take care of sammy for me”.

for the last however many years deans been pining for, he never let himself consciously check out sam. hes almost regretful of that when his eyes catch on sams ass, hes eternally grateful no one knows them here, has no idea they’re related, when sam turns around and almost immediately meets his eyes with a smile and wave. he barely even notices the old guy walk away from the pool table with twenty less dollars in his pocket, when he approaches instead with two of the cheapest beers the bar had in hand.

and hes never been stupid or blind, he can see how others also look at sammy-watching him with such interest, its disgusting-so he trails a wandering hand across sams waist then his back as he walks past. its not bold enough to draw suspicion from sam himself, but makes the women who were peeking glances at either of them, sigh and look away, resigned

he feels a little petty, but mostly proud of himself for successfully warding off interested onlookers.

perhaps a slightly out there idea, but I want Dean to feed Sam like a baby bird so bad, it's insane. Like the mother-brother-lover ness of it all and how he wants to take care of Sam and the cuteness of it all and how it's not cute at all. I want it so bad omg.

It's gotten to the point where I found one (1) fic that contains that and reread it more than I want to admit.

why did they not make a point for sam and dean to visit every single state for a hunt at some point in the show? you’re telling me in a fifteen season long show there’s like thirteen states they never go to? not to mention washington dc?? like they could’ve done an episode about some presidents ghost or something. so many missed opportunities smh.

Why is late seasons supernatural so allergic to having the two talking characters in the same shot as each other they be cutting back and forth between Sam and Dean like they aren’t shoulder to shoulder with a blurry outline of the other vaguely in shot in the corner so we understand they’re still talking to each other my brother in Christ just have them in frame together it creates something in a scene you used to care about it’s called intimacy and tension I do not care to see them yell at a blurry outline of someone who’s possibly not even Jared/Jensen so you can save $10 by using a tall intern with brown hair to block half the shot

im just thinking abt like. sam (almost) never hits back. only under extreme duress. and i really can't imagine him lashing out at partners either, maybe yelling but never physical. and trying to understand why, like does he actually think he's better than dean by not punching? does he seek therapy at stanford? does he just think he deserves it and feels like he's at the bottom of the totem pole everywhere he goes?

literally makes me feel sick. idk i have a Thing for a teenage sam who is like totally opposed to violence (despite being forced on hunts and into sparring and training and loading guns all the time). there’s that throwaway joke about his idol being gandhi and there’s the fact that obviously sam doesnt Want any of this, this being Hunting and the constant violence that comes with, so i can just see this thing developing where for a brief period hes like sooo holier than thou about it i am better than you and dad cause i read books and i dont solve my problems by hitting things (which tbh he is so right about! <3) but obviously its just his way of coping with the violence that hes been entrenched in since he was six months old. and this is like literally just inside my head. but in my head its true. that was kind of unrelated actually but also not really

and so yeah i think. idk. violence is sooo normal to sam and dean. i think sam doesnt Want to hit back cause its counterproductive and unnecessary and he prefers to talk things through, like that’s just not how he deals with things, what use is hitting back going to do? like then they’d just get into a physical fight. which i dont think he wants. but also 100% even if not consciously i think sam believes he deserves it or at least that its Okay when it happens to him. he literally doesnt even question it. especially like… after s4. i think he tends to just accept deans treatment cause hes got this belief deep down that he’ll always deserve it, and also even if dean isn’t always right he always somehow ends up being right, and….. so awful.

also i do actually think sam went to therapy at stanford but thats just cause i find it fun to think about. like what did he say…. how do you even word the trauma of that upbringing. not sure if he actually took any valuable lessons from it or benefitted from it post short-term.

Whatever the pink pills were, they seemed to take effect before they came within sight of the pastry shop. Beta became even more affectionate than before. She literally stomped on Alpha Gabriel like a vine, purring and giggling, and her pupils were like dinner plates. Dean wondered for a moment if she would even be able to get out of the limo, but strangely enough, she did. Not only that, she managed to put on a short black coat and grab a small gold purse that had been hidden somewhere between the seats. And she didn't have much trouble walking in high heels either, although she leaned against the Alphaa Gabriel the whole way to the entrance.

Dean walked at Castiel's side, his arm around his shoulders, turning from time to time to look at Sammy, who walked about a step behind them. Quiet and unassuming, as always, though he kept his head up and his shoulders straight, his chin jutting out with a determination that he showed the rest of the limo ride. And he managed to keep his pride and composure even when Gabriel laughingly asked him if he'd gotten 'it' going, and Dean was proud of him for that, even though he'd rather the oldest of the Alphas had kept his mouth shut.

Sam de-ages himself to get Castiel and Dean together but ends up liking being their little Sammy a bit too much.

When they finally get together Sam doesn't really want to change back to his grown-up self, because he's never been so happy before and he loves being close to Cas and Dean.

So basically...

Sam wants his brother and angel to date so both of them can be happy.

He devises a plan to get them together.

De-aging himself is the solution, obviously.

Cas and Dean don't know that Sam has all his adult memories.

Sammy finally gets to be a child and be free all while performing his masterplan.

Dean has always been Sammy's daddy dearest and so when Sammy meets Cas he asks "Are you my new mommy?"

Yes, they're parents now. (Until they find a way to change Sam back of course.)

Even though Sam has his memories, he feels much more sensitive than usual and has difficulties controlling his emotions.

e.g. He starts crying when he trips.

Sammy having a nightmare and asking to sleep in bed with Dean like usual, asking confusingly why Cas isn't going to bed with them -> our little boy deserves to be sandwiched by Destiel <3

Sammy not liking salads anymore and sitting in Dean's or Cas' lap when eating because he can't get high enough to eat properly and needs to be spoonfed.

Dean enjoys spoiling Sammy in ways he couldn't before because they didn't have a lot of money back then or a proper home.

Dean missed seeing his brother so happy and carefree.

Castiel sees Sam's soul getting brighter everyday and finally healing.

Sam gets to ask Cas all the questions he always wanted to ask, but didn't have the courage for: "Dean says you're an angel, does that mean you can fly? Where is heaven? Are your wings white? Can I touch them? Do angels marry? Can you heal people? Does it hurt when you lose feathers??"

Dean calls Sam baby and Sam loves that even though he didn't when he was little the first time, Dean notices and wonders why it doesn't bother Sammy anymore.

Eventually Cas and Dean get together but by then Sammy doesn't really want to be big again because he doesn't want to stop being loved by his parents Cas and Dean.

Dean catches on to what's going on and together they all find a solution everyone is happy with, can be anything: Sammy growing up all over again the normal way, turning him back to his adult self but still caring for him and spending time together, having a magical ring so he can change his age at will in case they're on a hunt or there is an emergency... just anything happy.

Sorry, I have a very soft spot for Cas and Dean being parental towards Sam. You have no idea.

So, in S7x06 “Slash Fiction”, Dean has to ditch Baby for the time being.

He and Sam are in another car and the radio is playing “All Out Of Love” by Air Supply and Dean starts singing along.

The lyrics kinda fit mourning a certain angel. Just sayin….

Also, just sayin…. slash fiction is about romantic fiction of same sex pairings and this song is about romantic loss and sadness.
