The Economics of Salvage Cars: A Case Study on a Mercedes-Benz R129 SL-Class from $3,600 to € 17,500
Buying salvage cars from auctions in the USA and refurbishing them to sell in Europe has become a common practice in the automotive industry. The process involves purchasing damaged vehicles for a fraction of their original price, repairing them, and then reselling them at a profit. This Mercedes-Benz SL-Class is a prime example of this trend. Originally a salvage car from Copart in the USA,…

"Bullitt" (1968) was director Peter Yates' first American film. He was hired after Steve McQueen saw his 1967 U.K. feature "Robbery," with its extended car chase. Joseph E. Levine, whose Embassy Pictures had distributed "Robbery," did not like the film much, but Alan Trustman, who saw the picture the week he was writing the "Bullitt" chase scenes, insisted that McQueen, his Solar Productions partner Robert Relyea and producer Philip D'Antoni (none of whom had ever heard of Yates) see "Robbery" and consider Yates as director for "Bullitt."
Bullitt is notable for its extensive use of actual locations rather than studio sets, most notably the city of San Francisco, California, and its attention to procedural detail, from police evidence processing to emergency-room procedures. Yates' use of the new lightweight Arriflex cameras allowed for greater flexibility in location shooting.
At the time of the film's release, the exciting car chase scenes featuring McQueen at the wheel in all driver-visual scenes generated prodigious excitement. Film critic Leonard Maltin has called it a "now-classic car chase, one of the screen's all-time best." Fellow critic Emanuel Levy wrote in 2003, "'Bullitt' contains one of the most exciting car chases in film history, a sequence that revolutionized Hollywood's standards."
Drivers' point-of-view shots were used to give the audience a participants' feel of the chase. Filming took three weeks, resulting in 9 minutes 42 seconds of pursuit. McQueen, a world-class racecar driver at the time, drove in the close-up scenes, while stunt coordinator Carey Loftin, stuntman and motorcycle racer Bud Ekins, and McQueen's usual stunt driver, Loren Janes, drove for the high-speed parts of the chase and performed other dangerous stunts.
Billy Fraker, the cinematographer for the film, attributed the success of the chase sequence primarily to the work of the editor, Frank P. Keller.
The editing of the scene was not without difficulties. Noted editor Ralph Rosenblum wrote in 1979, "Those who care about such things may know that during the filming of the climactic chase scene in 'Bullitt,' an out-of-control car filled with dummies tripped a wire which prematurely sent a costly set up in flames, and that editor Frank Keller salvaged the near-catastrophe with a clever and unusual juxtaposition of images that made the explosion appear to go off on time." Hi, hello, just came here to say that I love your fic "trending in Japan". I was wondering if you had headcanons regarding Kenji or Emi or interpersonal relationships and stuff. Many hugs for you.
hi hello, thank you for the encouragement and hugs! After some thought ive realized I do in fact have some hcs about some of the character dynamics in the movie as well as just kenji himself, cause hes captivated my entire brain:
Kenji & Emi
Emi does not have teeth but she does inexplicably have a teething phase. kenji is forced to hide all his (salvaged) fancy cars in the garage bc the corvette's already been chewed to hell and his heart is gonna give out if he has to watch any more classics get wrecked
he reads her bedtime stories. A lot of aesop's fables, because theyre short and fun and hes trying to raise his monster daughter with good morals. emi goes hogwild for these but its unclear if she actually understands what hes saying; kenji's pretty sure she just likes the silly voices he uses for different characters
they go flying together! they go first thing in the morning before breakfast - it helps kenji shake off the grogginess of sleep and emi gets to stretch her wings. shes not able to go very far for very long initially, but as she grows and gets those cardio gainz she almost gets to be quicker than him. they have races and play air tag :)
while she doesnt have the vocal range to speak english herself, it becomes clear that emi does understand it well. (kenji also develops an ear for her chirping/squawks, though body language & facial expressions play a big part in communication for both of them) during her (much later) rebellious phase she'll simply pretend not to know what's being said when kenji is telling her to do something she doesn't wanna do, which frustrates him to no end
Kenji
developed a pretty massive chip on his shoulder after moving to the states. it wasn't just bitterness over his dad staying behind, though that was a part of it. this is canon but he was picked on in school for "how [he talked], how [he looked] and what [he ate]." he felt like he had something to prove to both his father and the world. he threw himself into sports - specifically baseball - and his academics, and he did so well that it forced everyone to shut up about how he was different from them and focus on how he was better than them
^ playing off this: kenji had a bonkers fucking yonkers routine when he was a kid/in highschool. he'd get up hours before school started to practice his swing, go for a ~1hr run, workout, study, etc. He'd go to school, come home, and do it all again. this is exaggerated but my point is that this kid was DETERMINED and had the discipline to see that determination through to the end
didnt have many friends because of all aforementioned things. he had acquaintances, and he was invited to parties and outings and stuff (never went), but he spent most of his free time hanging out with his mom. he never really had a "parents are so embarrassing" phase. he always liked to do anything with his mother: going to the bank, going grocery shopping, watching cheesy telenovelas till ungodly hours in the morning, etc. she was his no.1 supporter, confidant, and best friend
he played for his university's baseball team and got scouted at 19. his mom forced him to finish his bachelor's first so once he graduated with his degree in kinesiology at 21, he was drafted to the dodgers
Kenji & Ami
both of them, up until meeting each other, were totally dedicated to their career (and child) so they had basically 0 time for friends. theyre both borderline losers but theyre juuust good enough at what they do for people to admire them instead of finding them sad and lowkey pathetic
kenji is way more into the idea of being friends than ami is. hes pretty enthusiastic about it; he thinks that they have a kind of rapport, since they share a similar work ethic and are both (unbeknownst to ami) single parents. he calls her to chat abt random things. ami initially isnt superrrr into it; she thinks kenji is kinda lonely and desperate for human connection, & it isnt until her mom points out that she has not spoken to anyone outside of work-related reasons in 10+ years that shes like oh shit, i am also lonely and desperate for human connection. so she grudgingly acquires a friend. theyre both really bad at it
need to clarify that in my mind their dynamic is 95% kenji yapping about work and drama in his personal life (circumventing the 8m baby kaiju hes raising) while ami goes "mhm mhm" and takes notes until kenji notices and is like What are you doing. at which point ami is like...... right . nothing. im listening. and forces herself to put the notepad away. she has a hard time disengaging from the reporter mindset and just hearing something intriguing without turning it into an article. the other 5% are the rare moments where theyre connecting super well - ami's psychoanalyzing the hell out of whatever kenji just said and hes like what are you my therapist. over time she starts opening up to him, too, and eventually theyre comfortable enough to be having philosophical discussions over breakfast just for funsies
before kenji reveals that hes ultraman, ami thinks hes in a gang. he keeps showing up to their lunch "dates" with like bruised eyes and fractured bones and gets all shifty when she tries to ask about what happened. when she eventually confronts him about it, hes so offended that she thinks hed be involved in something like that that he tells her about being ultraman
thats about all i can think of rn, though im sure ill think of more after rotating all the characters in my head for a while. thanks again for stopping in, i appreciate the support :)

As I shuffle from foot to foot, waiting impatiently, the massive sphere looms over me, slowly turning to showcase the etched lettering that reads Universal Studios. The brilliant water show happening just behind me provides a melodic backdrop, but does little to soothe my growing unease. Across the way, crowds of excited guests pour through the front gates, many already wearing silly souvenir hats or clutching stuffed animals they bought. Their joyful shrieks echo from inside the park. But here I remain, alone, checking my phone again for any word from Noah who is now 15 minutes late. It would have been easier to carpool but I was so adamant on it only being casual I thought a car ride together would push the boundaries-what was I thinking?  I crane my neck, scanning the constant stream of park-goers for any sign of them. Meanwhile, just down the palm-tree lined streets, casual shoppers laugh and chat as they drift in and out of kitschy gift shops and overpriced restaurants.
I stand conflicted, torn between listening to the voice in my head urging me to leave and salvage my pride or staying to enjoy the sunny day alone in the park. My mind races, replaying our last conversation where he promised to meet me here, yet now I wait aimlessly for a text explaining his absence. I shift my weight between feet, denim shorts swishing against my bare thighs as I kick at the sidewalk in frustration. Arms crossed, I glance around, taking in the groups laughing together on the grass while I wait solitary by the lot. With a huff, I turn to leave, chucks scuffing the pavement with each reluctant step. I make it only a short distance before pausing, a glimmer of hope making me pivot back. I fish my phone from my pocket, refreshing my notifications despite knowing the empty screen awaiting me.
Noah: Hey, traffic was terrible. Got our tickets online meet me at the front gates.
The text came in two minutes ago. When I was standing around contemplating my life choices, I feel like an idiot. Had he seen me stomping away? I take a deep breath walking down the red painted walk to the front gates. I spot him before he spots me, leaning on one shoulder against a palm tree closest to the ticket booth.
His casual look is simple but it’s making my insides swim and spin in circles. The shorts are a classic neutral that matches anything, hitting just above his knees to show off muscular, tattooed calves. His socks and shoes are bright white, like he just stopped by the store to get them specifically for today. On top stands out a bold red hoodie with the hockey team's logo plastered boldly on the front, impossible to miss in a sea of people. His focus is downwards at his phone, hand absentmindedly brushing over short brown hair, drawing my eyes to the fresh cut he got just this morning. The ends are crisp and clean, neatly trimmed in a way that shapes his head, sharpening his look.
“Hey,” he says as I close the distance between us looking up at me  from behind his shades, “Sorry traffic was a killer, sometimes I am afraid my old ‘09 car is gonna crap out on the freeway.”
"No worries," I say self-consciously, as I begin tugging at the hem of my shorts and shirt in a futile attempt to cover more of the bare skin I had purposely chosen to flaunt just moments before. I'm not sure why I suddenly feel so exposed and vulnerable, wishing I had worn something more modest, but his intense gaze is making me painfully aware of just how little clothing I have on. As if sensing my unease, he reaches for my hand, gently interlacing our fingers together and giving me a reassuring squeeze. With a warm smile, he leads us towards the mobile ticket booth at the park's entrance. I watch as he smoothly pulls up the e-tickets on his phone, which the attendant scans before snapping bright yellow paper wristbands onto each of our wrists.
"Have fun!" she chirps cheerfully, waving us through the turnstile into the park. Still holding my hand securely, he guides me into the bustling crowd of families and thrill-seekers.
We scatter around the amusement park, darting from ride to ride but never fully committing to more than one at a time. Most of our time is spent waiting in the snaking queues, chattering away about anything and everything to pass the time. We debate our favorite movies - the epic adventures we could watch over and over and the cheesy romcoms we secretly love. We groan about the overhyped blockbusters that left us bored and disappointed.
The line stretches on endlessly, filled with eager witches and wizards of all ages clad in Hogwarts robes and brandishing imitation wands they had purchased at the souvenir shops. They jostle against each other, craning their necks to see how much longer the wait will be, too caught up in their anticipation to pay heed to personal space. I pull in on myself, trying to avoid the constant bumps and shoves from the overly enthusiastic crowd. Mumbling half-hearted apologies, they repeat the same motions over and over as they surge forward whenever the line moves an inch. Their reckless abandon grates on me, fraying my nerves until I'm overwhelmed by the suffocating press of bodies. Just when I think I can't stand it any longer, I feel Noah's hands encase my shoulders before he pulls me back against his chest. He crosses his arms around me, enveloping my tiny frame within the safe harbor of his embrace. Sheltered there with his chin resting atop my head, the chaotic crowd no longer seems so oppressive.
The hours fly by in each other's company. I walk slowly as I munch on the Minon Cafe nachos I purchased trying to get a generous amount of cheese, onions and barbeque on one chip. The savory blend of flavors bursts across my tongue with each crunchy bite. Noah stands next to me watching me munch on my food, his lips occasionally curving into a soft smile as he finds amusement in my puffed out chipmunk cheeks struggling to contain the mouthfuls of nachos. I return the expression with my own cheeks puffed out to maximum capacity, my mouth so full of the delicious tex-mex treat that I can barely chew let alone speak. The boys rush up to us without warning, their sneakers scuffing along the pavement. Two gangly teen boys with all the awkward acne and scattered facial hair that comes with puberty stand before us, the shortest one flashing a braces-filled smile as he and his lanky friend try to catch their breath after jogging to catch up with us.
"Hey man," the shorter one greets Noah, a slight lisp detectable as he speaks, "Love the hoodie. We're big Rooks fans." His eyes light up with admiration as they fixate on the sports team logo emblazoned across Noah's chest.
"Oh thanks," Noah replies, his smile broadening as he briefly glances down at the jacket he is wearing despite the intense heat, acting as though he had no idea he was sporting the coveted team merch.
"Whose your favorite player?" the other kid asks eagerly, practically bouncing on his toes. Noah shakes his head and I swear I see a little blush rise in his cheeks, his modest nature taking over. He reaches up and slowly removes the sunglasses from his face. As his identity is revealed, I turn back to look at the boys and see their starstruck expressions morph into sudden realization of who it is they are actually talking to.
The boys ask Noah for photos and autographs. He happily obliges, flashing his pearly white smile for selfies and signing various items. After a few minutes, the boys scamper off, thrilled with their interactions. Noah slides his sunglasses back on and turns to me with a grin stretching ear to ear.
"You seem to be a popular player," I joke as I toss my trash and brush the chip crumbs from my hands.
"It's not often I'm stopped without the team around," he admits with a casual shrug. "Puck bunnies usually," he adds. I involuntarily cringe at the mention of that term, memories of my reckless youth flooding back. I was quite the rebel in my teen years, making a string of poor choices with some of the players on my dad's college team. While I was never in it for the money or fame like those so-called "puck bunnies," I'd still made decisions I wasn't proud of, motivated by little more than teenage hormones and lust.
"You would think," Noah continues, "Being here there would be more popular celebrities to see than me." He shrugs off the comment trying to lighten the mood. I shake off whatever it is that bothers me and force a smile.
"Maybe they are all hiding," I say pointing to the studio tour ride. Just below the theme park are the studios where they often are filming - it's entirely possible celebrities of all types lurk below us without us knowing. Noah's face brightens at my suggestion and his eyebrows raise behind his sunglasses. His excitement is palpable as he takes my hand and drags me across the park to the escalators, paying the extra toll for the ride. I can't help but grin, caught up in his enthusiasm. We hurry onto the trolley, Noah helping me into the far back seat.
We're squeezed into the very back seat, thighs touching, the tour guide going on about the studio and celebrities we might see roaming around. I'm not even listening. I’m too focused on Noah’s arm draped behind me. His fingers drift lightly over my arm, barely making contact, but it's enough to make my heart race.
As the trolley trundles along through the winds and curves, I turn my head to gaze out the large open sides of the tram, feigning distraction while my mind races. I'm scanning the scenery with unseeing eyes, lost in a vivid daydream. In my fantasy, we sneak away from the crowds flocking through the park and slip into one of its shadowy alcoves, hidden from view. He presses me against the rough brick wall, his strong body pinning mine as his hands roam my curves. Our breaths grow ragged with anticipation and I have to bite my lip to keep from crying out as he drives himself into me, right there out in the open where anyone could happen by. My heart pounds at the illicit thrill even as my inner muscles clench around him. Just then, his deep voice breaks through my scandalous reverie.
"You hungry?" As I turn back, our noses brush in sudden proximity and instinctively I recoil. But his arm around my shoulders tightens, holding me close so that our lips nearly meet. I swallow hard, nodding my head dropping my  eyes down to stop myself from staring at my own reflection in his black sunglasses.
“Here or downtown?” His free hand comes between us, his index finger tapping my nose before dropping down to cup my chin and tilt my head up to look at him again. I see myself staring back from his dark sunglasses, the faint sight of his eyes behind them, and I know I'm done for.
Noah’s POV
“Mmm, fuck, you’re so good to me, aren’t you little fox?”  The subtle music from the shops of studio city provided the backdrop as we found a secluded corner shielded by palm trees and trash bins. My hands gripped her hips tightly, bracing her against the brick wall as I moved rhythmically, struggling to keep my shorts from falling. Her body pressed hard into the wall with each thrust as I hit that sensitive spot inside her, eliciting muffled moans from behind her hand clasped firmly over her mouth. Her nails dug sharply into my shoulder, urging me on as my tempo increased. We were lost in the moment, oblivious to anything but each other and the risky thrill. The distant chatter was drowned out by her gasps of pleasure, spurring me to quicken the pace.
“Fuck, I’m almost there baby.” I brought her down on my cock she rotates her hips to meet me with each thrust. Fuck. I can't get enough of this girl, she has me absolutely addicted in every way. From the moment I wake up, she is the first thought that crosses my mind. I find myself constantly daydreaming about her throughout the day, picturing her smile, her laugh, the way her nose crinkles when she's focused. I can't go five minutes without needing to touch her, to feel her soft skin under my fingertips. Her presence soothes me, excites me, consumes me. I want to talk to her all the time, hear her voice, her thoughts, her dreams. I've caught myself staring at her apartment balcony, hoping to catch a glimpse of her, longing to see that cute, sleepy look she gets when she's just waking up. I'm not proud to admit it, but I'm utterly infatuated. When we're together, it's electric - the sex is mind blowing, earth shattering, unlike anything I've ever experienced. I can't get enough of her body, the way she feels, tastes, smells. She has me completely intoxicated, addicted, obsessed.
“fuck me, please.” The rhythmic panting in my ear spurs me on, driving my movements with an intoxicating urgency. Lost in the moment, I'm only dimly aware of footsteps approaching in the distance. But I cannot bring myself to stop, not when we’re so close.
Her skin is flush against mine, damp with perspiration from the sweltering summer air. As our foreheads meet, her face contorts in ecstasy, lips forming a perfect ‘O’ while her eyes roll back. She tightens around me, her body quivering. I wish I could freeze this instant, to imprint the exquisite sight of her unraveling in my mind. I come with one last thrust and we stand there, muscles shaking, breath heaving.
I catch my breath quickly waiting for her thighs to stop shaking before I am setting her down slowly, shielding her as she steadies on her feet, trying to bend at the waist and lift a shaky leg through her denim shorts.
Her delicate hand feels light in mine as I gently pull her out to the shopping center, people glance our way and I see her cheeks turn red. People have no idea what we just did, but I do and seeing her shy like this, I find it cute. I spot the burger joint and we slip inside and find a cozy booth by the window. The waiter takes our order - a juicy burger and fries for her, just a cold beer for me. As we wait, she becomes utterly engrossed in the football game blaring on the massive flatscreen above the bar. I watch her eyes light up whenever her team makes a big play. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and I find myself getting drawn into the game too.
In the back of my mind, I can't help thinking about my own team - how in just a couple days I'll be back on the ice with them, immersed in the sweat and adrenaline of competition. Part of me itches to be cleared for practice again, to feel the smooth feeling of the ice beneath my skates, to hear the swish of the net as I sink a perfect shot. But a larger part of me knows I'd rather be right here, in this moment, with her. For now, the game on TV is just background noise. The thing that has my full attention is the way she smiles at me from across our little booth, eyes shining, cheeks still flushed. This is where I'm meant to be.

Met His Match!
(Dean Winchester X you)
Has Dean Winchester finally met his match after y/n shows him she doesn't need his help?
No warnings
Tumblr media
Upon arriving at Bobby Singer's place, Sam and Dean Winchester were greeted by the familiar sight of the old scrapyard. The Impala pulled up to the dilapidated house, and as the engine cut off, Dean's sharp eyes caught a glimpse of movement in the garage. Curious, he stepped out of the car and sauntered over, following the source of the sound.
There, amidst the clutter of rusty tools and half-finished car parts, stood a figure hunched over an engine block. Her hands moved deftly, fingers blackened with grease as she muttered under her breath, a symphony of curses and frustration. Dean couldn't tear his gaze away from her, captivated by the sight of a woman so fully immersed in her work.
As he drew closer, the woman finally noticed him, wiping her hands on a rag before turning to face him. Her eyes were a striking shade of green, sharp and piercing as they met Dean's curious gaze. "Can I help you with something, handsome?" she quipped, a smirk tugging at the corners of her lips.
Tumblr media
Dean grinned in response, unable to resist the charm in her voice. "Just thought I'd offer a hand. Looks like you could use some help," he replied, gesturing to the engine before them.
The woman raised an eyebrow, sizing him up with a hint of amusement. "I appreciate the offer, but I work better alone," she replied, a stubborn set to her jaw.
Undeterred, Dean leaned against a nearby workbench, watching her with unabashed fascination. "I can respect that. Name's Dean, by the way," he introduced himself, extending a hand towards her.
She eyed his hand warily before finally shaking it, her grip firm and surprisingly warm. "Y/n," she introduced herself simply, a ghost of a smile on her face.
And just like that, a friendship was born in the dusty confines of Bobby Singer's garage. Dean found himself drawn to y/n's fiery spirit and unwavering independence, while y/n was intrigued by the enigmatic hunter with a penchant for classic rock and leather jackets.
As days turned into weeks, their bond deepened as they worked side by side on various cars and hunting cases. Y/n proved to be a valuable ally, her mechanical skills complementing Dean's hunting expertise in ways neither of them could have predicted.
Eventually, Dean realized that his feelings for y/n ran deeper than friendship, his heart skipping a beat whenever she flashed him that mischievous grin. And one fateful night, under the blanket of stars in Singer's salvage yard, Dean mustered up the courage to confess his true feelings.
Tumblr media
Y/n listened quietly, her expression unreadable as Dean stumbled over his words. And then, with a soft chuckle, she silenced him with a gentle kiss, a silent promise of adventures yet to come.
And so, in the midst of monsters and mayhem, Dean Winchester found love in the form of a grease-stained mechanic named y/n, a love as wild and untamed as the open road that stretched out before them.

Porsche 356 Borghi Abarth (1 of 1.
This is the Porsche 356 Borghi Abarth, it’s a car with a fascinating backstory being the only one of its kind ever made – and it was only built because the 1953 Porsche 356 it’s based on burned to the ground in an accident. The car was built not in Italy but in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Italian coachbuilder Aldo Borghi had relocated to the South American country at a time when Argentina was booming economically and set up a coachbuilding and automotive race preparation shop.
Aldo Borghi was born in Italy, he trained as a young man in the art of automotive coachbuilding, specializing in the use of aluminum alloy to create strong, lightweight bodies. He later moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, or more specifically he moved to the town of Tigre which is just slightly north of Buenos Aires but which is often included as being part of the large South American city.
In Argentina Borghi set up his own garage specializing in coachbuilding and developing sports cars for the bustling local racing scene. A number of significant cars came out of his workshop including the Alfa Romeo 2900 “Ballena” and the Alfa Romeo Spyder 6C 2500 “Paquito”, and he restored the Alfa Romeo 3000CM Carroceria Boano after an accident.
In 1965 he was brought the burned out hulk of a 1953 Porsche 356. Exactly what had happened to the car is lost to history but Borghi was able to salvage the floorpan, engine, transmission, and a number of other parts.
He then built a new body for the car entirely from hand-shaped aluminum, influenced by the styling of the Rocco Motto Abarth racing cars. The owner was delighted with the transformation and the car was notably lighter thanks to the loss of its original steel body.
Building a new body for a car that’s been badly burned isn’t an easy task, fortunately Aldo Borghi was more than up to the task.
He created an entirely new outer bodyshell in aluminum alloy by hand shaping each of the panels needed, using the styling of the aforementioned Rocco Motto Abarth racing cars as his guide. The end result would be a car with fastback styling, a sleek front end, wider rear wheel arches, and an engine bay that was considerably more roomy than the Porsche original.
The lack rearward visibility is perhaps the only major gripe, but there’s not a lot of need to see what’s behind you when you’re winning anyway.
Thanks to the loss of its heavier original steel body, the new car – named the Porsche 356 Borghi Abarth – was considerably faster than its forebear. The Porsche Super 90 engine was later upgraded to produce approximately 110 bhp, with power sent to the rear wheels via the original Porsche 4-speed manual transmission.
The car rides on steel wheels, with Porsche drum brakes at each of the four corners, and of course it has the independent front and rear suspension of the original 356.
Inside the car you’ll find a tastefully executed interior with leather seats that have plaid cloth inserts. This same combination is used on the doors, and the roof lining and rear of the car are finished in quilted leather.
Up front there’s a wood-rimmed classic steering wheel beside the gear lever, with three gauges front and center in the dashboard showing your speed, revs, and fuel level with the tachometer naturally in the center for optimal visibility.

There's a spoiler for episode 69 on dafuqboom.shop (the image isn't spoilery at all, but the caption with it is!)
I'm posting the image here because I think this is the clearest close-up we've seen of a cameraman.
Tumblr media
I'm amused that they have the words 'CCTV CAMERA' engraved on their casings!
The Doylist explanation is that DFB imported a normal CCTV camera model, and it was more trouble than it was worth to smooth off that bit.
The Watsonian explanation? Who knows?! Why would they engrave 'CCTV Camera' on themselves? They KNOW they're cameras! That's like having knuckle tatts that say 'FIN GERS'.
Also, they're arguably not CCTV, seeing as they can broadcast... something that a closed-circuit by definition can't do!!
Maybe they ran out of materials for making fresh casings and had to dip into their stockpile of salvaged human-made camera casings - and having a 'vintage' casing like this one is like being given a crappy loaner car while your normal car is getting fixed.
Alternatively, maybe having an old human-made casing lends one a certain cachet of cool? Human-made items aren't being made any more. Maybe having an old casing and keeping it in good condition is like those people who restore classic cars and drive them around.

Hex Characters in the Real World
So basically at the end of the game it’s implied that all the characters go into the real world. This also goes hand in hand with the theory that Amanda from Inscryption is Sado meaning that when all the characters go through the hex portal they get a normal looking appearance. I wanted to make headcanons for what jobs I like they would have in the real world just for funsies
If I have the time I wanna draw them just living their casual civilian lives
Reggie:
I think he would just make the Six Pint Inn real. It would be somewhere secluded in the mountains or the woods.
A lot of travelers go there for the owner’s hospitality and really tasty root beer.
He’s known for being kind, even letting people stay at the Inn for free during really bad storms.
Yet some people feel uneasy around him.
Jeremiah:
In the game if you get all the coins for the vending machines it mentions how Jeremiah wasn’t happy being a janitor and that he wanted more of a thrill in his life.
I think initially he helps Reggie build his inn but then leaves to go pursue his own interests but they still chat from time to time.
The job I see for him is a private investigator because he already has experience with hunting people down and keeping a low profile.
Swk:
Either he gets a human form and just becomes a literal weasel.
I think if he did get a human form he would actually go to college and study engineering. He’s probably really good at math.
Ends up joining a rock band as the drummer. It’s mildly popular in his area and he’s kind of a celebrity again but this time he’s really chill about it. He keeps his band mates in line if they start letting the fame get to them.
If he had to make a name up for himself it would be “Kidd Shrewd.” It’s a strange name but perfect for a rockstar.
Chef Bryce:
I think we all know what his ideal job would be.
After everything he’s been through he just wants to live a calm life.
Would try to set up his own bakery but if that doesn’t work out he would become a high school teacher.
He would be the cool teacher that not all the teachers like but his students love him because he’s just really mellow.
Chandrelle:
She would have a job where she didn’t have to interact with many people.
Would be absolutely terrible in a customer service job because of how snarky she is.
This is a weird one but I think she would be a janitor and actually enjoy it because she gets to blast music in her headphones and ignore everything while she cleans.
If she sees someone litter in the place she’s cleaning she will smack them with her mop.
Since her name really sticks out I think she would go under the alias “Charlie Storm” or just “Shannon.”
Lazarus:
When I thought about him the first thing that came to mind was dog walker.
He’s calm and confident which means he’s able to get dogs to listen to him.
The poor man probably doesn’t really know how to relax so on top of dog walking he’s also a cashier at a gas station and going to college full time.
Ends up becoming a veterinarian or a marine biologist.
He prefers to chill with animals rather than humans and finds marine life to be really neat.
Probably doesn’t care about going under a fake name but if he did it would be “Russel” or something basic like “Jason.”
Rust:
Lives off the grid or in a very small town.
He can’t stand crowds and would feel unsafe in a big city.
He’s sad about spending his days alone but he isn’t really sure where to go or what to do with his life.
Ends up working as a mechanic that most people are intimidated by.
Has salvaged a bunch of classic cars and stuff, he likes to decorate them.
Everyone just calls him Rust, they assume it’s just a nickname and don’t really question it.
First Person Perspective:
In the real world he would end up looking like Lionel with very few differences.
Horrified by this he would do everything in his power to make himself look different from his creator. He might dye his hair, let it grow out or shave it completely, wear contacts, anything so people don’t point out the similarities.
Even though he can actually talk now he still doesn’t because he’s used to not talking and he doesn’t want to hear Lionel’s voice come from him.
Someone needs to give him a hug, he needs it.
Probably majors in philosophy and would either work at a library or as an IT.
Probably still wore a hat and trench coat at first but too many people were staring at him so he just wears a hoodie with the hood up all the time.

Okay so overall thoughts on the DMC Anime trailer are....
Uh. I'll watch it. Almost certainly day 1. But I'm uh. Not necessarily any more excited than I was before, especially because some of the stuff in it is. Pretty weird. Not bad, just not the sort of thing that has me on the edge of my seat.
Why is Dante fighting what appears to be Agni and Rudra on top of cars in the middle of the day? How much CGI are they going to use? (I personally hate most anime CGI. I know some people don't mind it or enjoy it, but it actively takes away from my experience.) What's with several of the demon designs just being large colorful creatures? Where's the classic DMC horror aesthetic? We have the one skull guy but that's not much. Why is Dante fighting so many humans? For a pre-DMC3 anime it does make sense since he has his clashes with humans in the DMC1 novel that's been retconned to be pre-DMC3, but it's also...not super interesting to me, tbh. Again, don't think it's bad, it just doesn't include a lot of the things that draw me to DMC. Which in this case is largely aesthetic, but not limited to it.
I was hoping this would be like the original DMC anime where you can basically slot it right into canon, but if those two guys are Agni and Rudra, you can't because that doesn't align with DMC3. Dante having 2 generic guns makes me hopeful he'll meet with Nell and we'll get an expanded view of that relationship (and how it's supposed to be in the new canon, because the DMC1 novel is a mess of retconned material), but I'm not totally sure on that front. We'll see. I did like the slice of life type stuff we saw in the original DMC anime, so I could definitely be pleasantly surprised with this one. I'm curious how they're going to salvage the DMC3 manga, but since the DMC3 manga wasn't my favorite, it again doesn't necessarily have me at the edge of my seat, just curious.

hiiii! just wanted to ask you if you have any specific songs you think are on miguels/miles' playlists? (or in miguels likes, lol) youre also welcome to share some songs that make you personally think of them!! i saw a miguel fancam set to amor eterno by juan gabriel and got all choked up </3
hello hi I'm totally normal about miles and miguel's theoretical mixed playlists
I'm rolling in hot with 2 things:
first, i love to imagine that their combined playlist has odd matches, but that it adds variety to the car ride mood. it's got classics like shout by tears for fears, you spin me round (like a record) by dead or alive, another one bites the dust by queen, gimme! gimme! gimme! by abba, and ballroom blitz by sweet. the last one is a self-aware hilarious choice made by miles in referencing miguel himself AND the spider-chase on him. like, for real listen to it and read the lyrics, it's so ATSV chase scene
(miles also feels that miguel has glam rock taste and he's neither wrong nor right, but a secret third thing)
AND also! there's some spanish classics mixed in there! like oye como va by santana, some unexpected rock like muñeco de trapo by oreja de van gogh, and some that are high-energy and ALMOST too dangerous to be driving with, like buleria by david bisbal. miguel&miles scream that one out together with the windows down 🗣️🗣️
(for my own indulgence, they listen to like you by daddy yankee, a forgotten Spanglish classic that they both actually know)
second, miguel's likes are a Disaster beyond saving. man's got 16k songs in there. not even lyla can't salvage that, and she has performed miracles of technology before. "how do you have 16 thousand songs liked? did you hit heart on every song you've ever listened to?? how long do you spend scrolling??" he's got everything from Erik Satie to Taylor Swift to Juan Luis Guerra to elevator music in those likes. they don't make sense
and miguel's only response is like 🧍"i was in my depressed era" (he still is).
miles' contribution with the 'pass the aux cord for the love of god' playlist is the only thing saving miguel's musical taste
anyway, i should be writing huh :)

Get to know you game! Answer the questions and tag 9 people you want to know better!
Got tagged by @outtoshatter!
Last song listened to: Uhhhh I think Eine Kleine Nachtmusik because when I'm driving short distances I just put the classical station on in the car. I haven't been listening to music lately, I've been re-listening to my Fox Mulder Is A Maniac podcast.
Currently reading: Descender by Jeff Lemire and Dustin Nguyen (IT'S SO PRETTY), Nettle & Bone by T. Kingfisher for book club, and I'm still technically slogging through The Salvage Crew but might end up DNF'ing because the audio production is so absolutely dogshit that it's actively difficult to listen to. Sucks for the book itself, it's probably fine.
Currently watching: I'm terrible about watching new stuff, so. My current background watch has been Brooklyn 99 and Xena. (I also want to rewatch The Sting for the nine billionth time but they're showing it at the local indie theater soon and I'm taking my friend who hasn't seen it which means I have to resist until then.)
Currently obsessed with: I mean. All the usual things. Screaming about Batkids. Deep sea creatures. Went down a rabbit hole of mimicry in bugs because mimicry is so cool. Eight million writing thoughts that all want to be written at once (mainly but not exclusively Reverse Robins).
No-pressure tags! @dangerousdan-dan @your-dead-european-ancestor @sepia-stained-sunset @roseandgold137 @robbed-ghost @teleportationmagic @bess3714 @dizaryswrites @kayrielwrites

Answers for the yoichi sibling questionnaire, from the pov of someone in-universe who has no idea what the fuck is going on or what's up with this questionnaire
Hates bank vaults- ... I don't really have an opinion on bank vaults? I mean, normally they're just something banks use to store money or something like that, right? I this is a trigger or something like that, though, I understand and I'll try to be accommodating, I guess?
Prefers Captain Hero to the Demon King- I don't think I've read that manga yet, but from what I've heard online, the Demon King is kind of a jackass, so I guess I prefer Captain Hero?
Villains need not apply- Don't worry, I'm a normal civilian. The most villainous thing I'll probably ever do is cross at a red light when there aren't any cars around lmao
Younger- idk how old you are, but I'm 22 so...?
Tolerance for PDA- Eh, I don't really care
Hair care products- I don't really care about hair, plus I don't really think that's there's anything that's been invented yet that could salvage my rat's nest lmao so don't worry about me stealing your stuff
You must be able to defeat All for One in combat. This is very important because All for One will certainly try to murder you for replacing him. - What. Who, what. Huh??? EXCUSE ME???? Uh, I regret to inform you that my out-of-shape noodle arms won't be defeat any, uh, "All for One"s anytime soon...
...Are you being hunted down by the mafia or something??? I mean that would explain the 'All for One' thing... and the murder.
You haven't read or watched Captain Hero?! Shocking and appalling. Kids these days have no longer heard of the classics. Yoichi has mailed you fifty volumes of Captain Hero. You can read it and then get back to him with your opinions. This is very important for your sibling application. He's also sending a detangler comb, detangler spray, and baby powder for your hair.
You don't need to worry too much about All for One any longer. The other siblings have him handled. That criteria has been removed.

So basically I found out I assign animal qualities to Everhood characters a lot
Gonna make a list of the characters and what animals they are in my headcanons; as in literally or traits they have based off said species
Pink: wolf. Wolf Pink is a wolf to me it even works thematically like. Chasing a rabbit. The misunderstood “big bad wolf,” something demonized by everyone yet is actually not in the wrong. Yeah. I need to draw them with pointed ears and a tail more but they have fangs even so. But! They also can purr! And yip like a fox when excited or wanting to call Rasta from far away!
Rasta Beast: It’s just canon they’re a unicorn but I also love to think they make chuffs and roars like a tiger <3 they also give off a lot of large dog energy, hell, Rottweilers were and still are the inspiration for how I draw them! Also such malamute energy in their design as well
Brown Mage: bear bear BEAR. BEAR IN THE GAY SENSE AND ANIMAL SENSE. Big fat hairy guy!!!!! Also sits in their cave alone eating and eating, like a bear (the animal)… I also draw them with some badger like qualities as well, but nothing aside from being human originally explains their long, luscious, wavy hair that probably has mats and knots and hasn’t been washed or brushed in eons
Shopkeeper: a snake! Specifically a hognose snake! Mainly because of the head shape, but also because it sorta fits with their profession as a florist/gardener as hognose snakes are known to burrow!! I can imagine them digging a hole to plant some flowers by using their snout, hehe..
Blue Thief: oh man. This little guy is purse dog coded. But getting into specifics, Blue was probably once an actual gnome! How they ended up the way they are now is… gruesome, though. They defected from their mage status by ripping their gem out. Of their forehead. Kickstarting the memory issues. Then a ton of surgeries trying to fix them that ended up botched, getting worse and worse until nearly nothing inside could be salvaged, leading to their body being scooped out and stuffed. Blue is just a living plush/taxidermy, their limbs lock back in place via their bones, but their skin still has to be sewn together again. I got off topic though, animal traits I think they have is a whole hodgepodge of stuff. They purr and make biscuits like a cat and have the same climbing ability, they have cheek pouches like a hamster, paw pads for general stealth, and fangs like a cat or dog. I love my little dog-cat-hamster-raccoon-hedgehog thing that is Blue <3
Green: if you’ve seen my art you know I see Green as a bird. Green just has that messed up bird energy + they have the claws. I feel like they were once human, but then began to transform into a bird-like monster via the gem’s influence. In the end though, they now look the way they do thanks to tearing their original body to shreds… Poor Green will make nests out of three race cars and some dice, like a pigeon. Will also purr and coo like a chicken (and also do warning/threat squawks like one too)
Purple: unlike Brown and Green, they started as a furry, a goat to be specific! Purple was a goat person about to be sacrificed, until they found Everhood, and unfortunately taken in by Gold Pig with the promise of power and shelter. Over time, they have transformed due to the influence of the gem and the magic they performed. Now, they are some sort of void-like creature with only tentacles that serve as a body and limbs, mostly comparable to a jellyfish.
Zigg: hairless cat <3
Muck and Flan: these guys have such salamander energy tbh. Feed them worms. I love drawing them as big goo dragons like Goodra which is one of my top 3 favorite Pokémon <3
Reese: I don’t headcanon them as having any animal traits, but I do think if they were an animal they would be a horse.
Noseferatchu: classic vampire, but because of a lot of general vampire headcanons I have, Nose is a big leech guy pretty much! Bring back leech vampires leeches are so cool and one of my fave animals </3
Vampire Kid: still a leech but has some bat traits as well!! Used to rock themselves to sleep as a baby hanging upside down like baby bats do…

Okay so, in terms of canon timeline, it would seem that it was Fredbear and Spring Bonnie -> Withered Animatronics (prior to their decay) -> Nightmare and Funtime Animatronics -> Toy Animatronics (plus the Withered Animatronics in Parts and Service) -> Classic Animatronics (refurbirshed Withered Animatronics) -> Springtrap + Phantoms -> Trash and the Gang, Mediocre Melodies, Rockstar Animatronics, El Chip, and Salvages -> VR characters -> Rental Animatronics -> Glamrocks.
(Note: Funtime Chica might be a Funtime who was left out of Ennard, but seems to be another "distraction" Animatronic as opposed to an "abduction" Animatronic, seeing how she doesn't make your pizzeria more dangerous in Pizzeria Simulator. Music Man might also be a Funtime Animatronic if the Guidebooks are to be believed. The Mediocre Melodies do not have internal batteries, and are visibly hooked up to car batteries when displayed on stage in Pizzeria Simulator.)
Some of these stages would probably be skipped in the FNaF AU, and if you want you could create some original themes between "Toy" and "Glamrock", but there are options regarding the progression.
Hm.
Yeah some of them are skipped and some of them exist in otherways?
Like.
The Funtime Animatronics from Sister Location. I reworked what Sister Location was so that it's Afton's workshop at home. The Funtimes are replicas of Freddy/Foxy with Afton figuring out how to turn the originals into murder machines rather than just making full new ones like Baby and Ballora. The Nightmares are also literally nightmares.

Inoperable vs. Operable Vehicle Transport
Whats the Difference?
Tumblr media
At Viceroy Auto Transport, we specialize in transporting all types of vehicles, whether they’re in perfect working condition or inoperable.
Operable Vehicle Transport
Tumblr media
For an operable vehicle, the process is straightforward. Since the car can be driven onto and off the carrier, no additional equipment or special handling is needed.
This makes the process quicker and more cost-effective. Whether you’re shipping a daily driver or a classic car, operable vehicles are the standard for most transport requests.
Inoperable Vehicle Transport
Tumblr media
Transporting an inoperable vehicle requires extra care and specialized equipment, such as a winch, to safely load and unload.
Inoperable vehicles can’t be driven onto the trailer, so carriers must accommodate the additional time and effort involved in handling them. This service is often used for salvage cars, restoration projects, or vehicles that have mechanical issues preventing them from running.
Key Differences Between the Two
Cost: Transporting inoperable vehicles is generally more expensive due to the extra equipment, labor, and time required.
Equipment: Inoperable vehicles need a winch or other tools to load and unload safely.
Preparation: It’s crucial to inform your carrier in advance if your vehicle is inoperable so they can prepare accordingly.
At Viceroy Auto Transport, we’re experienced in handling both operable and inoperable vehicles. No matter your car’s condition, we’ll ensure it’s transported safely and efficiently. Contact us today for a personalized quote and expert advice!

How is the Price of a Used Part Calculated?
When it comes to vehicle repairs, opting for used parts can save you a considerable amount of money. However, the pricing of these parts may not always be straightforward. Unlike new parts, the cost of used auto parts varies widely based on several factors. Understanding these factors can help you make informed decisions and get the best deal when you decide to buy used auto parts online. Here’s a breakdown of the elements that impact the price of used auto parts.
1. Condition and Quality of the Part
One of the primary factors influencing the price of a used car part is its condition. Parts that are in excellent condition with minimal wear and tear will generally cost more than those with visible signs of use. When a part is barely used or appears like new, it holds greater value and is likely priced higher. On the other hand, parts with minor damage or extensive wear are typically priced lower.
The quality of the part also matters. For example, if a part has been refurbished or reconditioned, it may cost more than a basic used part but less than a new one. Sellers will often provide information on the condition to give buyers a clear idea of what they’re purchasing.
2. Demand and Availability
Just like any other product, the price of used car parts is also affected by demand and availability. Some parts are more in demand than others, especially for popular car models. If a particular part is frequently needed for repairs and is hard to find, its price is likely to be higher. Conversely, if a part is readily available, the price might be more affordable.
For instance, buying OEM parts online for certain luxury or rare models may come with a premium price because of their limited availability. This is particularly true for vintage or classic cars, where original parts are rare and difficult to source. In such cases, the scarcity of the part drives up the cost.
3. Age and Model of the Vehicle
The age and model of your vehicle play a significant role in determining the cost of used parts. Parts for older or discontinued models are often harder to find, which can increase their price. For newer models, used parts are typically more abundant, and the price may be lower.
Similarly, luxury and high-end vehicle models generally have more expensive used parts compared to standard or economy models. When you buy OEM parts online for a high-end vehicle, you may find that even used components carry a higher price tag due to the premium nature of the car.
4. Type of Part
Not all car parts are priced equally. Mechanical components, such as engines and transmissions, often come with a higher price tag due to their importance and the cost of manufacturing. These parts are more complex and have a direct impact on the car's performance, making them more valuable.
On the other hand, smaller, less critical parts like door handles, mirrors, or interior trims are usually more affordable. Electrical components can also vary in price, depending on their function and complexity. Parts that are essential for safety or functionality are generally priced higher than cosmetic or non-essential parts.
5. Source of the Part
The source of the used part can also affect its price. Parts from reputable suppliers or certified salvage yards may be priced higher because they’ve been inspected and tested for quality. Sellers who specialize in OEM parts, for example, may charge a premium for used parts that are guaranteed to be genuine and compatible.
When you buy used auto parts online, it’s essential to check if the part comes from a reliable source. Parts that are sold through unofficial or uncertified sellers might be cheaper, but they could also come with risks in terms of quality and reliability. The peace of mind offered by certified sellers often justifies the higher price.
6. Market Trends and Economic Conditions
Market trends and economic conditions can also have an impact on the price of used car parts. During times of economic downturn, there may be an increase in demand for used parts as more people look to repair their vehicles rather than buy new ones. This demand can drive up prices.
Similarly, changes in the auto industry, such as new regulations or shifts towards electric vehicles, can affect the availability and demand for certain used parts. For example, if there’s a rising trend in electric vehicles, the price of used parts for traditional fuel-based vehicles might fluctuate based on demand and availability.
7. Shipping and Handling Costs
If you're buying used parts online, shipping and handling can also influence the final price. Larger and heavier parts, such as engines or transmissions, often come with high shipping fees, which can add to the total cost. While the part itself may be reasonably priced, shipping can increase the expense, especially for long distances.
Some online sellers offer free or discounted shipping for specific items or within certain regions, so it's worth checking before you purchase. When calculating the price, factor in any shipping costs to get a complete picture of what you’ll be spending.
8. Warranty and Return Policy
A used part that comes with a warranty or return policy may be priced higher than one without. Warranties provide an added layer of security, allowing buyers to have the part replaced or repaired if it doesn’t function as expected. Although this can increase the price, many buyers are willing to pay a bit more for the peace of mind that a warranty offers.
Not all sellers provide warranties on used parts, so if you find one that does, it’s an indication of the part’s reliability and quality. This is particularly beneficial when purchasing online, where you don’t have the opportunity to inspect the part physically before buying.
Conclusion
Understanding how the price of a used car part is calculated can help you make more informed purchasing decisions. When you buy used auto parts online, factors such as the part’s condition, availability, demand, type, and source all play a role in determining its cost. Additionally, shipping fees, warranties, and market trends can also impact the final price you pay.
