I have....several gkdkskaka

I will give a small summary of each, which is technically funfact for them and you can ask more about them afterwards if they peaked your interest gkskaka

There are two catarogories, fully coroika ocs (only used in coroika) and is just a splatoon oc but I use it for coroika too cuz I'm obsessed lol

Fully coroika ocs would be the oh so well known Skipper, his big sister Cherry and a more recent on (legit made him yesterday) Orca.

Skipper is somewhat related to Marina (childhood friends) and has done plenty shady work, he is a musician too, after quitting his job as an underground fighter in, as they call it, "Black Ring", he, together with Cherry, started a band, El, a "fishling" (kinda like that leather jacket fish guy from C-side) and Ame, a sea anemone joining the team soon after. And Skipper is actually an ocxcanon with Emperor! Hehe 👉👈

Orca is also an ocxcanon I did by accident-

A partially sanatised octoling who moved to splatvile for a new start, obsessed with working in Salmon Run and never once stepping foot into the turf war scene until his friends despretetly call for his help. They end up fighting against Ocho and winning, getting the blue octoling rather salty, now poor Orca has a target on his back and he just wants to work in peace.

His story is fairly simpler compared to Skipper lol.

For technical not coroika ocs is Dusty, Plaid and Berry! (There is one more member in their team, but they are unfinished, so not gonna share who they are yet)

They are all from the same team! Dusty is technically my agent 3 oc, she is a comic book/superhero fanatic and goes to the art academy! Cuz she a lil artist uwu thus her main is the octo brush!

I actually drew her before! That reaction image of an orange octoling gril crying XD She's the outfit I've been wearing lately!

Plaid is her childhood best friend, he is was abandoned as a baby in octo valley and two octolings soldiers (leabian moms lol) ended up adopting him and running away to splatvile where they thought he'd have a better opportunity in life.

Berry is a shy inkling girl who used to be a leader of another really good team before they....abandoned her to put it "nicely", she works with Sheldon and loves to hear him talk. She has a lot of anxiety and prefers to follow orders rather than lead after what happaned.

She also had a run in with ocho in a not so nice way XD.

Some say that she only joined the Lambs of Penance because of her fascination with the Saint Orchids… Nevertheless, she serves Penance loyally, and happily tends to the orchids while joyously awaiting the day of her purification.

Please tread carefully though; the coral in her dough is not that of the Sea but of mycelium, and she grows many things besides orchids. You won’t realize just how many different types of plants and fungi can leave a Cookie temporarily immobilized until you meet Jelly Coral Cookie. . ."

Extra Notes:

Specifically based on Sebacina sparassoidea (white coral jelly fungus).

However, she is broadly based on orchid mycorrhiza, which is typically a symbiotic relationship between orchids and fungi wherein the fungi help the orchid get nutrients. Although sometimes this relationship can be parasitic.

She has helped many Cookievorous Plants thrive since they were but mere seedlings, and in return for her generosity they are immensely loyal and protective of her. Despite this, she largely leaves them to their own devices, simply requesting that they protect the saint orchids in their territories from being destroyed, and to not harm any Lambs.

That said, there are 3 of these cookie-eaters who are never far from her. They usually help guide her when she’s in unfamiliar terrain and make sure no one interferes with her gardening.

She is a Penitent Acolyte, but she generally avoids wearing the official robes since she doesn’t want to get them dirty from gardening. However, she will wear them if asked to, though she can’t fit her hair into the hood unless she cuts it…

While she is clean in her reference art, Jelly Coral usually has a few dirt stains on her.

Has the WORST labeling system for her herbs—or at least that’s what everyone keeps telling her when they see the monstrosity, but she can find everything just fine.

Personality-wise she’s a bit socially awkward, but very passionate about gardening and keeping her fellow lambs safe (until they can be purified, that is).

Finally got around to posting this lil' weirdo. I like to call her my discount Poison Ivy /pos.

Since I did one for my first farmer, I obviously had to do one for my second. We don’t play favorites in this house (except we totally do, I love her sm)

Her name is Jeannie, and she’s a half vampire on her dad’s side. Other than her appearance, vampirism hasn’t really affected her life that much, she just has to deal with a mild garlic allergy and getting sunburnt real easy. She also ages a tad slower than a normal person, but she does still age

Sharing a couple of those ocs I was talking about

Originally these two were used as my Minecraft skins when I played, now they're fully fledged ocs! :D

Kim and Carson have been friends for the longest time, they met just after Kim was attacked by pillagers and lost her arm. Carson took her in, healed her and built her a new arm and they've been best friends ever since.

Kim is 23, and loves adventure. She's always on the move, exploring whatever the overworld has to offer, wether that be shipwrecks, desert temples, or just a village she hasn't seen yet. Due to this, she lives sort of nomadic life, sure she'll stop by a village or two for a rest and to gather better gear, but she'll never visit the same place twice. Unless it's Carson's place, as he's the one who gives her arm tune ups when it receives damages. She also just stops by his house to hang out or geek about anything cool she found during her trips, hoping to drag him along with her.

Kim absolutely LOVES treasure maps, but not just for the treasure. She loves the historical side of old dilapidated buildings and what they can teach us now. 

Carson is 25, a self classified "master red stone engineer" and loves exploring cave systems with Sam, his pet slime. He knows his way around mobs but is not much of a fighter, usually finding a way to sneak around them or outsmarting them in some way. Sam helps with this as he can look out for any incoming threats and warn Carson with a gurgle or wiggle.

He absolutely LOVES riding minecarts, his favorite thing to do in caves is finding abandoned mine shafts and seeing where the track takes him. Sometimes he drags Kim along too, but she doesn't really share his enthusiasm for near death minecart rides.

some misc thoughts on ka bue worldbuilding! specifically relating to expressions

more thoughts under the cut!

my main concept for the Expressions as a whole revolves around names. essentially, an Expression can only exist with a literal expression of their Name somewhere in the world - their name being some sort of singular symbol / kanji / radical that represents their form, function, and essentially being. the first physical form of their name is their anchor (Expressions can change anchors though), and the more permanent the anchor is, the more powerful the Expression is. however, the more offerings - aka, further expressions of their Name an Expression recieves, the more powerful they become on top of their preexisting power from the permanence of their anchor. i imagine there's an entire scholarly split in ka bue revolving around whether One Big Elaborate Naming is more powerful or many smaller repetitive names is. for the most part though they both have about the same effect, which is why you see both shinto-style paper prayers attached to the pillars of the little shrine and a significant amount of more elaborate Offerings piled up around the anchor to the Expression.

- bonus thought here about little kids learning to Craft stone into geometric shapes as being the equivalent of vaugardians learning to craft clay into moving change god figurines! ka bue is pretty clearly Against / neutral to change and movement especially compared to Transgender Heaven Vaugarde, so i thought this was apt - there is also something here about the open-plan nature of the temple (wind can move freely through it, and people can visit and leave as they please) but i don't quite have enough thought here to fulfill it fully in worldbuilding. so i will leave the thought here for someone else to hopefully pick up - similar to shintoism, i imagine there are a lot of expressions dedicated to unique locations and places. for example, there are a lot of local Expressions (this one is one of them) that are specifically tasked with guarding a certain rural village or blessing a certain graveyard. the bigger and more popular expressions (victory, search, protection, luck, etc) are invoked much more often and by extension have far more elaborate temples though, probably located centrally in major cities. - bonus thought that i haven't really explored here about a bunch of the most famous temples being underground caves, due to the gem connections. - these temples would also probably have the expression names carved into them, similar to arabic architecture (see the alhambra's carvings) carving the name of god in stone into their walls. which btw i still think is one of the coolest things humans have done i LOVE spanish and arabian architecture

- some bonus thoughts about gems! i mainly conceptualized them in the doodles as being primarily anchors for expressions (metal and gems are prime expression worship material due to their permanence meaning that you can permanently express the Expression) but i also had a thought while typing up this tumblr post that maybe entire family trees could be represented this way as physical metal-and-gem trees, since odile mentions that people are commonly turned into gems. - bonus thought here regarding odile's "gems alive" swear - if gems are the remains of passed ancestors, not only is she swearing by her / other ancestors (which is very distinctly east asian) but also saying something along the lines of 'the dead are coming back to life because of how insane this is'. which i thought was funny - one final scribble regarding prayer flags! i imagine the paper prayers people write to Expressions as filling a very similar niche as shinto ofuda/shide and buddhist prayer flags, that is small throwaway prayers that gain power when accumulated in large amounts. and more importantly they look cool as hell - i don't know how common prayer trees would be (in my research shintoism commonly worships trees, and china also often venerates especially old trees (there are trees in beijing that are supposedly over 1000 years old, and some that are confirmed over 800 years old) so i think ka bue might do the same? maybe??? trees aren't really permanent though which is kind of more what i was going for in my head regarding their cultural beliefs. you can cut down a tree but you can't easily destroy a gem
