i love how snarky JFJ is in the Hickey interrogation scene. everything he says is so condescending

"You saw its eyes, Mr. Hickey?"

"Really, something spooked it?"

the best part is that being so derisive is just counterproductive, it's like this man doesn't know what an interrogation is. he's less questioning and more straight up heckling.

the other funny thing is that Hickey is fully unbothered. so it's inefficient questioning and inefficient heckling. but it is very sassy and that's what's most important 😌

not to keep harping on the same note but i'm still thinking about how hard datv fumbled the romance like i romanced solas in dai and despite all the ways that romance isn't as prominent as the others in the game, it's still much more present than what we get in veilguard (at least for davrin, lucanis, and bellara from what i've gathered)

the emotional punch of solas going from friendly to addressing the inquisitor as "my heart" to going back to "inquisitor" has more oomph than anything save the last romance cutscene in datv

i don’t think you have to “fix” anything about eleven’s canon behavior to make him seem “believably” asexual actually. from my pov he already acts extremely ace lmao. he loves flirting, he calls his car/life partner sexy, he kisses people A Lot, but like basically whenever sex becomes an actual thing he’s expected to follow through on, he dips. it’s fun for him in the abstract but uncomfortable in reality. reads as ace to me, through and through.

My brain is being tossed around by Meredith and Cullen. Does that make sense? Like can you imagine the emotional turmoil I am in thinking about the evil tragedy that is Meredith Stannard while also looking at Cullen with a scrutinous eye?

Meredith has always been clear as a person, that what she wants is the end of magic by all and every means necessary. She believes herself to be the law as what she thinks is what will save the city. Cullen is less blunt due to his writing, his character, to the difference between DA2 and DAI. He has his regrets, but his regrets are also stitched with his biases, making it harder to accept them at face value. What does he want? What does he think is the right choice? This isn't about what is morally right or wrong but why Cullen became who he became, and where can he go from there?

Both templars are compelling to me but for such different reasons.
