Washington provides a gentle and wise ear to Halibutdusk. He listens to Halibutdusk's grief and draws on his own recent losses to provide what little comfort he can.

Vervaincough takes her grief and frustration out on Slushtrail.

Rattlepelt and Wildclaw share a nest in the nursery for the night.

R: "It's me , isn't it? Why Trumpetspore's gone? I'm- I must be cursed, and now what will happen to the kittens? or my moms? Or you-"

-she gets yoinked-

W: "first off."

W: "my mate is not cursed. I'd know, having had an omen cat as kin."

R: "ough! What in Starclan's-"

W: "and second, I can protect myself."

W: "I can protect them, and I can protect you."

W: "But right now, they need their mama to also warm them up, no matter what circumstances led them to our care."

Surprise, everyone! I've been working with a few of my most vocal fans for a special moon update featuring proper art of your beloved cats! I am so grateful to everyone who agreed to draw a scene, especially since they had to keep some events secret for a while. I adore each piece. The individuality of each style is powerful and adds so much life to this. I promise happier moments ahead, even with the normal chaos of the Clans!

Let me introduce you to the Diamond-Tribe 💎

The Chief: Stone-Watcher, the very first cat I experimented on with the water that seeped from the Fae Crystal. I found her when blue was close to death and had a severe infection in her eyes (which caused her to develop multiple eyes during her mutation). Blue’s a smart cat and is faithful to those close to her but seems to have trouble opening up to the other cats. (Bluegender she/her/blue/blueself)

The healer: Laurel-Beauty, Stone-Watch brought her here after she had severe food poisoning from a tainted mouse. Bloom then showed her capabilities in medicine when she was able to identify every plant I had in my garden. Bloom’s a pretty shameless cat from what I’ve seen but her keen eye makes up for it. The diplomat: Glow-Bloom, she was the second cat that I’ve experimented on. I’m not sure if it’s the effects of it’s mutation but sour often shows strange behaviors and patterns even for a cat but she seems to get along with the rest of the tribe. Though it does disturb the others when her face is locked in a horrified yet smiley look. (Citrusgender she/her/it/sour/sourself)

The Hunters: Salt, Salt was the first human experiment I’ve ever done and I’m very surprised and proud by the results. It was jarring at first seeing the salt crystal formations across her body and hearing his spit up tar-like fluid constantly but I soon got used to the side effects of Salt’s mutation. (Genderfluid, any pronouns)

Whiplash, he has had the strangest mutations I’ve seen in a while. I’ve never expected the Crystal water to mix DNA of two completely different organisms but I welcomed it hold heartedly. Bug’s a very loyal and very good at public speaking, I’m sure if something happens to Glow-Bloom, Whiplash will be a good candidate for replacement. (Bug-gender he/him/it/bug/bugself)

Cowie, she came to the tribe one day with a newborn kit that she helped its mother give birth to. The tribe welcomed both of them in with open arms and Cowie seems to enjoy telling her stories about her life to the other cats. (Cisgender she/her)

Sunny, this cat is a strange little and seems to completely encompass the sign of Aries. He’s almost an adult but still has some growing to do and Whiplash has taken the mantle of being his mentor. (Cupcakegender he/him/sugar/sugarself)

Amethyst, Amethyst is the newest member of the Diamond tribe and seems to be getting along with everyone. But she has a tendency to get really shy but has a big loving heart. (Cuddlegender he/him/she/sleepy/sleepyself)

Moon 35

Frostfreckle has caught whitecough.

Cragshadow has healed from their leg wound and also found out they are expecting. Frozenspots insists that they join them in their herb patrols for the time being.

An injured Snipclan warrior stumbles into Starlingclan camp and begs to be taken in and healed. They manage to utter their name before passing out. Yewchill.

Dawkpaw is made into a new warrior. Their name is now Darkpatch and Hopstar praises them for their charismatic attitude.

Roarpatch both scrapes their paw pads on some rough rocks and catches greencough in quick succession.

Frostfreckle is breathing easily once again.

At a regular check-up, Yewchill is surprised to find that they are pregnant.

Another flash flood claims the lives of Frogspot, Blossompelt, and Shellbite.

Roarpatches pads have healed.

Duckflow healed from their broken bone, only to catch whitecough.

Cragshadow gives birth to two healthy kits. Heavykit and Slightkit.

Hawkbit has injured their leg in a twoleg trap.

Kinkkit has caught kittencough.

Saltkit asks Pigeonfleck how they can tell if a cat is approaching from their right side.

Thistlekit is horrified by all the death they are seeing at such a young age.

Roarpatch has been able to fight off greencough.

Duckflow is no longer wheezing in their sleep.

Hawkbits leg wound is starting to look and smell off.

Yewchill safely gives birth to two kittens. Pepperkit and Fernkit.

Yewchill seems standoffish when asked about a father.

Hawkbits infection has been quickly treated. Stormflicker comments on how grateful they are that they said something so soon.

Thistlepaw touches noses with Hopstar, thinking that they are surely the luckiest cat in the whole forest.

Kinkpaw manages to shake off their kittencough in time for their apprenticeship ceremony where they are given to Darkpatch.

Saltpaw fidgets impatiently at the camp entrance as they wait for their new mentor Pigeonfleck to finish with their clan wide congratulations.

Yewchill strains their ears to hear a word that any cat is saying. maybe they need to go see Freezespots again...

Slightkit was killed in their sleep by an invasive snake.

Pepperkit has caught greencough.

It was hard to pick a design from @redwallclan . The premise and character designs are all very cool!! But I eventually went for the leader, Rimemoon. What can I say? I’m a sucker for a guy with ice motifs.

Honeyspring from @mourningsbane .. My tragic girlboss. I support women’s rights and women’s wrongs. I think she should have infinity amount of revenge. Also I’m going to go buy her kits some dinosaur chicken nuggets and some zoopals plates to eat them on. I think that will fix them.

Bat from @mammoth-clangen is such a sweetie!! A king. If anything happens to him I will be inconsolable for approximately three months. He also gets a zoopals plate to eat his prey off of. He deserves it.

Saltburn from @nanistar ‘s Saltburn’s clan.. That comic is probably my current favorite WC fancomic. Silly cats in the desert? Check. A secret clan with glowy mushrooms? Check. Horrible horrible family dynamics? Check. Go read Saltburn’s clan if you haven’t.

Finally we have Lynxpaw from @salt-clangen I really enjoy Bonefall’s work. And I have a soft spot for Cleric/Healer apprentices that have to kinda figure everything out themselves. I’m rooting for her success. You go, girlie!!

hey hi i have so much autism and my spinterest is cats (for. ten years now probably. smth like that) and i am so nerdy about coat patterns and the genetics,,, esp torties and torbies (the guy i like has a male torbie and im so ready to infodump to him abt that)

anyway context aside: would pebblefreeze be considered a dilute tortoiseshell? im curious because i still dont exactly know what the seperate tail marking would class as but since shes female its likely that it would count as tortie and im just curious as to if thats how that is classified,,,

personally? i don't know a lot about cat genetics! however i Do think that they are cool as hell, and I will give you as much pebblefreeze info as I can to help you figure it out

in the code, Pebblefreeze is considered a Calico, which in clangen terms is just a tortie with more than half white coloring (i think, take everything I say with a grain of salt), with a pale gray smoke base and a ginger tabby tail. She does have the two different patterns, but since one of them is the Smoke pattern, she isn't technically a wildcard tortie. here's her warrior sprite, and here's what she'd look like without the white patches, just to get a better idea of her patterning
