But seriously, the audacity of Logan insisting he doesn't have mommy issues to Roman when all Logan wants from the women in his life is for them to mother him. Watch Marcia smooth his hair in the pilot and take care of him when he's sick and support every one of his decisions, and the second he perceives her as opposing him he moves on to Rhea, his knight in shining armor. Look at him propositioning Rhea right after she says she'll take care of things for him. Is it any wonder his last relationship is with his devoted PA, whose whole life revolves around taking charge of his schedule, home life, and comfort? Caroline was certainly the outlier, and that’s probably one of the reasons Logan turned to Sally-Anne and that their marriage collapsed. My guess is Caroline was the wife most like him in terms of temperament, and while I'm sure that first drew them together in a Rhett/Scarlett sort of way, Logan wants a mommy at the end of the day.

HOWEVER, I wonder if he had lived longer and if the kids continued to avoid him if he wouldn't eventually try to find someone he could play father to instead, what with him being a sadistic empty nester and all. I can see things eventually souring between him and Kerry over the elephant in the room, the audition tape. I wonder if as he got older and more isolated and abandoned, if he'd pick some poor, harmless ditz of a girl that he could bully and coddle by turns. Some helpless Clara Copperfield of a woman he could play Edward Murdstone to. And that would make him mad because throughout, he's only liked smart, strong women, and he sees this woman as weak, but just as he's drawn to his children the more they disappoint him, the more he'd be drawn to her. I don’t know where I'm going with this, except I love thinking about fucked up things and may one day write a horrible dark one-shot about Logan domineering some cis girl Charlie Kelly that's half "The Private and Intimate Life of the House" and half Clara/Murdstone. You're welcome for that mental picture.
