💌 for haikyuu's tsukishima kei if that's alright!
kei tsukishima—;
💌 = your secret santa has a confession to make
“Hey,
I’m only saying this because I saw Tanaka was bragging about getting you that gift. And he didn’t.
I did.
I’m not sure where he gets off saying that. I doubt he’d have enough patience to buy you jewelry, much less figure out what kind you’d like.
Anyways, he doesn’t matter here. What matter is that you got the gift, and—if I’m right—you liked it.
…
I agree it’s pretty cowardly to do it this way. I’d much rather do this in person. But by the time you read this, I’ll be visiting family. And you’ll be out of town.
I like you. Always have. Ever since we got paired up in History class back in our 2nd year at Karasuno. Even when you made a fuss about having a much taller partner. Even when you kept bugging me to help you clean the top of the chalkboard after class, like the brat you are.
This is bad timing, if anything. I… I don’t even know if you’re dating someone or not. And the thing is, I don’t know if I care. I have to say it, before I chicken out again.
Will you accept me as your boyfriend?
Yours,
Kei
P.S. I thought you knew better than to believe everything you hear from Tanaka. He doesn’t even know the difference between clip-ons and real earrings. How lame.”

any other trans mascs just find out they had a dht blocker in their daily skincare routine? salicylic acid is the main ingredient in a lot of acne washes but it blocks dht and slows down facial hair growth. the more you know!
#trans masc#trans#hrt#testosterone#psa#i thought my facial hair genetics were just crap for no reason but nope it's salicylic acid#my dermatologist said i could swap to a 4% benzoyl peroxide face wash instead of my salicylic acid

look the idea that the same skincare advice is gonna work for everybody is such bullshit cause washing my face daily is the worst fucking thing i could do for my skin (besides doing a full skincare routine). it’s not your fault that your skin doesn’t look like your insane clean girl fave’s. they probably just don’t have skin that’s acne-prone the same way that yours is and also they’re trying to sell you things
#look. hi. it’s nobody’s fault that they have acne. you can help by keeping your face clean if that’s something that works for you obvi#but it’s genetic!!! a lot of times that’s just how your fucking skin works!!!!#as someone who has clear skin: it’s because my skin self-regulates. and if i wash it too much i break down that oil barrier#and then all the nasty shit gets in and i can Feel how raw my skin is#and i get nasty under the skin pimples starting up IMMEDIATELY.#the best shit i can do for MY face is leave it the fuck alone.#which is not to brag but to say that hey: the seven step skincare routine isn’t meant to work for everybody#and it is vehemently not your fault if it doesn’t work for you.#you gotta figure out what your skin actually needs. sometimes it’s not salicylic acid sometimes it is. y’know?#all that to say. i’ve been taking daily showers lately (good!) and washing my face every time (not that good!) and my skin hates me a little#no pimples to like three or em Under the skin. time for bracken to stop washing his fucking face like he knows he should’ve been doing :|#gotta get my oil barrier back 💔💔 skin feels raw as hell without it fr#i can Feel the bacteria getting in there#valentine notes

a deeply annoying but necessary part of my life is needing to stop taking/using a medication or product to know if it's one, doing anything at all, and if it is, what exactly is it doing and to what extent
i've never intentionally done this with my psych meds or asthma meds, but it's happened when for whatever reason, i didn't have access to them for an extended period of time. so the method of finding out really sucked, but i Am glad that it gave me an opportunity to truly see what my meds do for me, be able to actually measure the efficacy of their intended use and the extent of side effects. now i know exactly what my symptoms are, what the side effects are, and be able to make an active choice to tolerate the side effects bc the benefits far outweigh them
i have intentionally done this with skin care products and foods/supplements, which does also suck as an experience bc i have very particular routines in order to manage stuff like acne and ibs, but it's doesn't actually threaten my health, so it's worth finding out
#personal#one skin care product i actually genuinely need is the dark angels face scrub from lush#(i'm sure any similar charcoal based scrub would do the same i just happen to like the one from lush)#i get fairly moderate acne so like it's not so bad i need prescription level treatments#but if i don't have very strict routine my skin will immediately breakout and it is very painful#i have combination skin where it is generally oily but is very sensitive#and most chemical exfoliants will irritate to the point that it gets painfully dry and is peeling#so i find mechanical exfoliation to be a great way to wash out all the dirt and oil from my skin without overly irritating it#and then i use products with low levels of salicylic acid to help fight the acne#anyway this is all to say that i just did a test of not taking the psyllium supplements i recently added to my routine#and i can confidently report that it does in fact help me a lot#(i am typing this from the bathroom with a tummy ache :/ )

I just made a 6 year old girl really mad at me in the mall and it was actually a heartbreaking experience
Because I was picking up more moisturiser, and this clearly really young girl and her mother came in to shop skin products, and her mother picked up a combined kit and was like “This is the one you want? Okay I guess” and I took a peak and gently butted in and told her mother I thought that was a really bad idea because she looked super young and those products had a bunch of actives
This little girl was glaring at me like I kicked her puppy while I chatted to her mother, who seemed really embarrassed she didn’t know that, asked some questions, and told me her daughter was 6, obsessed with skincare, said all the other girls at school had similar products, and always watched YouTube videos + Tiktoks about these things.
I told her pretty bluntly it’s a bad idea for young people to use most of these actives/products, gave her some keywords to search online so she’d have a better idea about what to look up and learn more, and suggested maybe they could work on instead building a routine with washing faces with water, a little dab of a very neutral moisturiser and some sunscreen every day (let’s be clear - this little girl does not need a skincare routine, but it’s a compromise without completely shitting on her and helps routine building in life anyway)
I told this kid she was really pretty and she didn’t need anything, and I’m sorry I ruined her fun but I didn’t want her to burn her face with something like retinol or salicylic acid. She was not impressed.
Please chat with the young people in your life about these things, get some rudimentary knowledge if they’re asking for products like this, and please be careful!

finally got a new face wash and this shit is life changing. salicylic acid where have you been all my life?
#i have so much buildup on my forehead specifically (just a byproduct of years of having bangs)#that i felt like my face wash just wasn't breaking through that barrier. like it felt like it didn't actually get down to my skin#it just rested on top of the layers of oil and dead skin (gross i know)#but this shit. using the salicylic acid it felt like it actually broke through. like it actually washed my skin#thanks for the recommendation mom!#(my sister has dealt with cystic acne for like a decade so my mom knows what the good shit is)

Salicylic acid, a beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) derived from willow bark, is highly effective for oily and acne-prone skin due to its ability to penetrate deep into pores and exfoliate from within. It offers numerous benefits, including unclogging pores, preventing acne, gently exfoliating, reducing inflammation, minimizing pore appearance, and controlling oil production. For optimal results, use it according to your skin type, apply to damp skin, pair with a hydrating moisturizer, and avoid combining it with other strong exfoliants. Common mistakes to avoid include washing it off immediately, overusing the product, not following up with sunscreen, and combining it with incompatible products.

Salicylic Acid Uniqaya Foaming Face Wash
That said, sensitive skin doesn't always have to avoid salicylic acid. The key is to use it correctly. Opt for products with a lower concentration of salicylic acid (around 0.5% to 2%) and start by using a Salicylic Acid Face Wash a few times a week. It's also important to pair it with a good moisturizer to help protect your skin's barrier.

keratin treatment and dandruff
Keratin shampoo
Introduction: Are you tired of battling frizzy, dull hair? Discover the secret to unlocking gorgeous locks with the power of keratin.
What is Keratin?
Keratin is a protein that enables form the outer layer of your hair, nails, and skin (epidermis). It facilitates your pores and skin, heals wounds, and helps maintain your nails and hair healthy. There are fifty four kinds of keratin on your body. There are two options: Type 1: Of the 54 types of keratins in your body, 28 are type 1 keratins, 17 of which are skin cell (epithelial) keratins, and 11 are hair keratins. Most type I keratins (cytokeratins) consist of acidic, low-weight proteins. They have many functions, including helping protect cells from internal forces in your body (mechanical stress).
Type II: The other 26 kinds of keratins in your body are type II. Of those, 20 are skin cell keratins, and six are hair keratins. They consist of basic-neutral, high-weight proteins. Their basic-neutral pH helps balance type I keratins and govern cell activity. There are two forms of keratin: Alpha-keratin: Alpha-keratin is in the hair, epidermis, horns and nails of mammals. Type I and type II keratins are alpha-keratins. Beta-keratin: Beta-keratin is in the feathers, claws, beaks and scales of birds and reptiles.
Do I need keratin for my hair?
Keratin is the primary component of hair, so many people believe that taking keratin supplements makes their hair stronger. However, there are no studies that conclude that keratin supplements make your hair stronger. Talk to your healthcare provider if you’re thinking of taking keratin supplements to discuss any risks and benefits.
Many people also believe that shampoos and conditioners infused with keratin oil make their hair healthier. Studies have shown that shampoos and conditioners that contain keratin hydrolysates can make your hair stronger, brighter and softer.
Our Keratin Care Collection: Our Keratin Care Collection is meticulously formulated to harness the power of keratin and deliver transformative results for your hair.
keratin Shampoo: Our Keratin Shampoo is a luxurious blend of 2% keratin, peptides, and adenosine. This powerful formula cleanses and nourishes your hair from root to tip, leaving it stronger, smoother, and more resilient with every wash. Say goodbye to breakage and hello to hair that shines with health and vitality.
