The Baby Project
chapter two
izuku midoriya x reader
Summary:
U.A. decides that raising a fake baby is a good lesson for the future heroes and paired third year classes A and B with a general studies class. When you get stuck with a dead beat, Izuku Midoriya comes to save the day and your grade.
tw: Dead beat parents, sexual harassment (no details), idk if there's anything else?
The baby project is the worst thing to have happened at U.A. At least for you and the rest of your General Studies class that the ‘heroes’ decided to sacrifice for their favored course.
  “Is this punishment?”
The teacher, Snipe, shakes his head. “No, no it’s not.”
“You sure? Is it because of my last assignment?” Your previous assignment was honest and not popular. Snipe didn’t like what you had to say about heroes. The only thing you regret is that it was almost a hundred slides and you had to hold the class hostage in order to finish it. It was so bad that some of the other teachers had to save them. What were you supposed to do? You worked hard on your presentation and by God, somebody is going to learn from it. It was a solid assignment that you ended up passing, much to your amazement.
“It’s not punishment. You’re helping them. They’re about to be sent out there and need that last bit of guidance.” You scoff at your teacher. Are you even going to be graded for this since it is all for them? Then, a thought enters.
“This is because of Endeavor, right?” The room is filled with tension at your referral. What did they expect? It’s the truth. Because of the Todoroki Family’s fiasco, U.A. has decided to help prevent that from happening again in its own way: by giving robotic babies. Not to mention it is at your expense.
“ Toots!” Your friend, Ema, hisses. You just shrug and mouth ‘what?’.
“Yes.” Your eyebrows raise at Snipe’s honesty. “And why are we sacrificed? We’re younger than they are. Let the elderly go first. Just as nature intended.”
Snipe rubs his face. “Why are you so-no, you’re not being sacrificed. It’s a new assignment that everyone’s doing. My class is just paired up with them.”
“ Why?"  How are you the only one with questions? There is so much unfairness here!
“Will you stop?” A girl with bright red hair and reptilian eyes frowns at you. What’s her name again? Sakura or something? “It’s happening, there’s no use fighting it.”
You sigh and glare at her and your homeroom teacher.
“Try to get excited. This is the first time U.A. is doing this and you get to set the standard! Think of names and schedules,” He goes from being behind his podium to sitting on the desk in front of it.
“And time, and sleep, and food-” He interrupts you. “This is new technology, too! This little thing feels, looks, and acts like a real baby. It literally grows and responds as time goes on.”
The boy with shiny silver hair and four eyes tilts his head. You think his name is Jule? That’s how you’ve always referred to him as and was never corrected. “How old do we have to raise it to be?”
Your debate is slowly turning into excitement about the project. A baby to hold and raise. That grows and you’ll be the first at U.A. to do it. You’ll have future pro heroes as the other parent. Not just any of them, the golden class. Class A and B, the ones who fought in wars and defeated the greatest evil. That year alone goes down in history. Your peers still stand in awe as they walk past them in the hallways as do a lot of the school.
“Depends on your achievements. The better parent you are, the bigger it gets. Hatsume is the one who made them. For all we know, you guys could raise teenagers,” He turns his head towards you. “And get a taste of your own medicine.”
“I’d be an excellent parent. I’m just not sure about heroes.”
He points at you. “Keep playing. I dare you.” His threat earns a couple of chuckles in the class and even a smile that you try to fight.
Riko, a girl a few rows away from you, bounces in her seat. “Who do we get?”
“See? Be like Riko.” He gestures to her but stares dead at you. He has always been the teacher that tries to be personal and familiar and use first names. It’s refreshing since you’re so used to using first names anyway.
“Why are you picking with me…” You whine.
“Because you don’t listen.” You scoff when Ema hums in agreement. “Traitor.” You grumble.
“Mr. Snipe! Who are we getting?” Riko asks again. You are not surprised to see all of these people be thrilled about it. You raise your hand.
“ What.” Snipe taps his foot, already tired and the day just started. “Is this going to get in the way of school or is this project not during class hours?”
“I forgot about that…” Riko sinks into her seat. Other complaints echo off the walls. Small voices finally decide to ask the right questions. Repeating yours, about finances, hero schedules, are we allowed to go into each other's dorms (of course, that was by Riko).
“This is all up to you. Now, they’ll be coming here soon. We’ll draw names then.”
“What does that mean? How is it up to us?”
Benio turns to you and says, “He means if we raise it right, it won’t go off. Depending on how good of a parent you are, kind of thing.”
You slump in your seat with growing stress. It’s going to grow. You’re not being graded on how much it cries or something like you did in middle school. No, this is like reality. Because of the hero course, you’re going to be somebody’s baby mama.
“I hope I get Deku…” Ema says to herself and sports a light blush. She’s always been an Izuku Midoriya fan for as long as you’ve known her, which hasn’t been for very long. After the big showdown, he only had embers of whatever the hell the quirk was. Over time, he trained those embers to make them stronger and to be his own. No ghost guidance or whatever and a bad history attached. He was no longer All Might Jr., but Deku. Considered a hero in his own right. Plus, that new suit he got made him a hit among those who liked Batman or other comics.
At least that’s how you took the explanation? You're probably forgetting something but if you ask Ema, she’d go on and on. There aren't enough hours in a day for that.
“I want Todoroki!” Riko squeals and bounces up and down in her seat. You can’t help yourself. “Girl, that’s dangerous.”
“Making fun of what he’s been through isn’t funny.” Benio, a normal high schooler who is firm in his convictions, rebukes. You turn to him and look into his gold eyes.
“I’m not. I’m simply saying that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Plus, it’s also the reason for this assignment, right Snipe?”
Your teacher looks up at you. He’s trying to make it seem that it is to benefit both courses but it’s just not. Not when this whole thing is caused by Endeavor and Touya. Clearly, U.A. is doing this for them, not for General Studies. He even said so. There is nothing for you here other than to train the future pros to be better parents so there wouldn't be another League.
“Yes. It is also a new program that we’re trying whether you like it or not. It benefits everyone.” Snipe ends short. "What about necessities? Food, money, diapers, all of that. Do we buy our own or do you provide?"
You hate how you have to ask these questions. "U.A. has its own formula, bottles, and diapers. Due to it being mechanical, there's no way normal things would work."
"Do we pay for them?" Snipe nods slowly. Before you can complain again, the door opens and the veteran hero, Eraserhead, enters the room with his students. The future pros stand in line. The majority of them have smiling faces for their juniors. Some are blank. Since the big showdown, they have all grown. Taller, wider, buffer, smarter, all of it. It’s insane to think they were little twerps before.
“Where’s Deku?” Ema asks as she looks at all of them. Her pure black eyes survey the future pros. “He’s away right now! He’s training with his new suit, so he’ll be gone for a bit. But you have me!” Kaminari or Calamari whatever the fuck it is, smirks at her.
“No thanks.” You snort at her look of disgust. Lips curled, brows furrowed and she’s leaning back like she saw vomit.
“Ouch.”
Hatsume enters the large classroom with a wagon in tow. All of the babies are of different colors and sizes. Some are very petite and others have rolls. They look like your average baby doll.
“Now class, listen up. We’ll draw names and to fit two parents together then you’ll get an assigned baby. We’ll provide birth certificates and activate the kid.”
There is a feeling in your gut that this will not go well. You don’t mean to put it in the atmosphere at all. Since you’re stuck with this dumb thing, you hope you are wrong.
“Benio with Yaoyorozu.” You hear a curse under someone’s breath. He gets up and walks to your teacher for his baby. Benio and Yaoyorozu receive a normal sized baby. Benio quickly supports the head. In Yaoyorozu’s hand is the certificate wanting a name for it and their parent’s signature.
The door opens again and a hero course student from Class B walks in. If you remember right, he’s the drill guy. Someone who can turn his body really fast or something. He scratches his head and gives a short wave to the class. “Ah, there weren't enough students from the other General Studies.”
“Alright, you and (Y/n).” You get up and go to the front to get your project. Mei hands it to you, not the future hero, and gives you the paper as well. You support the chubby baby’s head. Like your average doll, it has plastic skin and blank open eyes. You go back to your seat and wait for him. He stands there awkwardly. “Um, come with me.”
“Why?” There are enough chairs for him, you note as you look around. Benio’s desk is empty. Snipe sighs. “(Y/n), go with him.”
“Why? This classroom is huge. He can sit down.”
“( Y/n), go.” Snipe points to the door. Slowly, you get up and head for the door, glaring at your teacher. You follow the drill guy closely. He opens the Class B room. You sit down and wait for him to follow you. Now that he’s next to you, he introduces himself.
“I’m Sen Kaibara. Your name’s (Y/n)?” He has a small smile on his face. His eyes study you closely. You nod at his question. “Let’s get down to it.” You open the baby’s diaper and see that it’s a boy. “It’s a bouncing baby boy.” There are faint red spots on his legs. They aren’t bumps or anything. Maybe the diaper is too tight. You quickly close it before he pees on you.
“Okay, what should we name him?” You have a few in mind. However, he also has a say in them and he probably won’t like them. Everything’s fine as long as the little boy has a name you can say and spell. Sen taps his chin and his eyes dart around. He snaps his fingers and asks, “How about my name?”
“No. And nothing I can’t pronounce, either.” He scoffs. “You’re not giving me a chance.”
“Neither are you. Something that we can both write and pronounce.” That’s it. In the end, that’s what you want. And for him not to be a junior.
The two of you decided on Noa, much to his annoyance. Clearly, you don’t get along. Not when it’s like this. All you asked was a simple thing. Yes, you can say Sen. But it doesn’t fit the baby. Yes, he can have a say so in the name. You only wanted a name you can spell and pronounce that doesn’t involve ‘junior’. It’s a name that both of you agreed with and is simple.
To you, it wasn’t difficult or a lot to ask for. To him, he’s red in the face as he turns it in. It was a simple disagreement. Why is he frowning so much? Snipe looks it over. “Ah, Noa? Nice name.”
Noa begins to get fussy. You look him over to see what’s wrong. You gasp at your discovery. His face changed from a baby doll look to one of an actual baby. His face is a mixture of yours and Kaibara’s. Honestly, mainly yours. Your eyes and mouth, especially. His plastic skin becomes soft like it's real and his weight now settles in. He looks and feels real.
“That’s normal. Everything changes in time.”
-------------

Unfortunately, things do change. Right as you adjust Noa so you are able to write, he freaks. Everyone’s head turns to you. Ema, God bless her, soothes you as you try to do the same to Noa. It’s crazy, you’ve baby sat before and aren’t bad with kids or babies. Yet with Noa you’re all thumbs.
“Bounce him gently. Do you have a bo-bo?” You snap your head. “A what?”
You can barely hear her over Noa's shrill cry. He shakes as he continues to wail. She shifts awkwardly. “A binky. A pacifier. It’s what we’ve always called it.”
“I’m really irritated right now so usually I’d like, stab you or something but that’s cute.”
Ema holds in a laugh. “Thank you for your generosity.” Mr. Snipe calls your name. “I know, I know! He won’t calm down.”
He sighs. “The bag we gave you has some supplies in it. The school’s formula, a bottle, a set of diapers, pamphlet all of that. Try different things,” He addresses the class. “Learn from this everyone. Plus, the items in the bag are samples. You’re going to have to do what you can by yourself.”
You set the diaper bag between your knees and unzip it. Inside are the supplies Snipe mentioned. His screams get louder. Suddenly, another baby follows suit, awoken by Noa. Jule immediately glares at you. You mutter several apologies and fumble the silver formula packet which is surprisingly in a liquid form.
Your fingers shake whether from stress or the bouncing you're doing with your whole body, totally dedicated to the rhythm. You pour the contents in the red and white bottle to shake it. Putting it in his mouth, he refuses to suckle.
“W-what?” You look at Snipe confused. He taps his foot and crosses his arms. Jule’s baby is quiet now, abruptly stops by your amazement. “How?” Jule shows you the bottle. “She’s hungry. Is Noa not-”
“Let her deal with it.” Snipe sighs. Riko frowns. “Doesn’t it take a village to raise a child?”
“Not for this project, no.” She sits up straighter. “Don’t you think you should be more patient? This was bound to happen.”
“You,” He points to you. “Outside so we can continue class.”
“Fucking asshole.”
“Watch it.”
You struggle to stand up without dropping him or anything else. Ema, bless her once more Lord, comes in and helps you with your things. You make haste to exit the classroom that is growing increasingly annoyed.
You try to feed him once again and when that doesn’t work, you set him on the ground to check his diaper. The redness is still there but he is dry. Throwing your hands in the air, you give up and head to Kaibara’s class. You don’t even bother to knock since literally everyone can hear you coming a mile away.
“Kaibara?” The class looks at you with their hero uniforms on. “Can you try? Nothing I’m doing is working.”
“I’m busy. I’ll visit later, okay? Try putting on a movie or singing to him or something. I gotta go.” He leaves you standing in the middle of his classroom.
“In the middle of school? Put on a movie in the middle of class?” You scoff and move in front of him, preventing him from walking away. Some of his classmates look at the two of you. You notice that not a single one of them have their babies. Their teacher, Dracula or something, pauses his speech and eyes you. “Kaibara, handle this as a father would. Alright class, let’s go.”
“Kaibara-” He cuts you off with a short response. “Not now.” He rushes past you to join and laugh with his friends as Noa continues to cry. Dracula pats your shoulder and apologizes.
______________
You decide to rock him rather than bounce. Soon after, he begins to quiet down, making you want to scream in his place. The bottle in your hand beeps. You look at it and see the word ‘spoiled’ on it with Hatsume’s face on it with a peace sign.
Still rocking him, you set your bag down on the ground to get a better look inside it to see how much you have. “No…” That was the only formula packet. Sighing, you pick it up and carefully rise up, with your knees cracking every inch. You head to the support course and walk inside. Power Loader is about to scold you for not knocking but stops himself immediately. “Is something wrong?”
“I need more formula, please.” Hatsume pops up out of nowhere. If you had the energy, you’d punch her for everything she’s ever done to you.
“Let me see, let me see!” She moves your arm enough to look at him. “Ah, he hasn’t grown; tsk, tsk.” You literally just got him. Like, a couple of hours ago.
 “Give me the formula.”
She sighs and shows you a set of packets and tells you the price. Your jaw drops. “You can’t be serious.”
“Yep, yep! Hand it over.” Regular formula is half the price and she’s handing you six packets. One per bottle. “Is one packet for one bottle?”
“Preferably. If you water it down then the baby isn’t getting the nutrients. Don’t try to skimp on my baby, little baby!”
The door behind you opens and shuts. Benio comes to your side. “She keeps throwing up, is your formula faulty?”
Hatsume twitches. “ No! These are based on real babies and not every baby can have the same formula.”
She, again out of nowhere, brings out a pink pouch. “Specialized!” You’re about to have a heart attack when she tells him how much his is. It’s even more than yours. “Fine. I’ll take four cases.”
Ah, that’s right. His parents make a lot of money, and his stipend is more than yours. Because you are a scholarship kid, your amount is lower. No one has told you by how much, though.
Embarrassed, you put up two fingers. She hands them to you and is gracious enough to place them in the diaper bag. Your eyes are downcast.
“Everything’ll be okay.” Hatsume says. You don’t ask what the money is for even though you are curious.
While you're here, you speak up to Noa's demonic creator. Ever since you got him, his groin has been red and irritated. You want to smack yourself when you finally piece together that he has a rash.
"Is there something wrong with the diapers? He's terribly red ever since it was put on him." You hand him over to her and she places him on a clear spot on her desk. "Ah, he's allergic! Good thing I have something for tha-"
"Special diapers?"
She puts her hands on her hips. "Why didn't you let me finish?"
"Let me buy them, please." You see the box of diapers in her hand. Already your stomach is in knots. Strangely, she looks into your eyes without a smile. No expression on her face. It looks like she's focused on you. "Are you okay?"
You nod and hum. It doesn't feel right to let this bother you.
"Here's some samples. Let me know if they work, okay?" She hands you three blue diapers. Unlike the regular ones that have the U.A. design on them, this one is pure blue with the U.A. emblem on the top. You don't realize it until you quickly change Noa and see the redness start to fade. Your eyes are watery. Not to the point of tears rolling out but close enough that Mei cared.
You clear your throat. "I'll um, let you know. If they work, I'll buy some more."
___________________________
Sitting at your usual lunch table with Ema, Benio, and Riko, you struggle to eat your lunch one handed. The other is occupied with holding Noa. Luckily, he is peacefully sleeping.
“You should really get a carrier or a wrap. It’ll be much easier.” Ema, who got Kirishima, eats her piece of chicken. New voices are loud enough to gain your table’s attention.
“Mm! Gotta go. We promised we’d sit together for the sake of our daughter.” She gets up and leaves you in awe of her communication skills. “I wish that were me. I can’t Yaoyorozu to sit still.”
“I don’t even want to.” Riko says. You forgot who she got but her forlorn face clearly says it’s not Todoroki.
“Not many of them even carry their kids. Like, Kirishima is the first I’ve seen.” You point to him sitting next to Ema. She didn’t get Midoriya like she wanted. Nevertheless, she got one of the better ones out of the bunch. In fact, he’s bragging about her. Showing everyone his daughter like a real proud father.
“Damn it…” You mutter. Searching around the cafeteria, you say, “I can’t even see Kaibara. Maybe we should exchange numbers. I have to tell him that Noa can't have the regular diapers.”
“You don't have his number?” You shake your head no. Riko frowns and rocks her carrier. “(Y/n)! That's, like, the first thing you should do.”
“I know, I know. He ignores me, though! Today I couldn’t console Noa. So, I went to him for help and he totally blew me off. He didn’t even look at him. Like Benio over here, I cannot get this guy to sit still.”
“Try again. If I can get her to cough it up, you can too.” He finishes his plate fast. Benio rhythmically taps his foot. His eyes focus on the table, clearly pissed off. You want to reach out and tell him it’ll be okay. That she’ll come around and you are in this together. Right now, he’s at the stage where he’ll snap at anyone and you prefer to live.
“You guys are so lucky. I got stuck with a creep.” That can only be one person. You gasp. “That grape dude? He’s still alive?” You didn’t even see him in class. It was probably the Lord doing that.
“Yep,” She pops her ‘p’. She pushes her broccoli around. Riko tenses up and her bottom lip sticks out slightly. “All I get are innuendos. I want to meet up? He’ll flirt and suggest another child. I don’t feel safe at all.” She mumbles. Your protective instincts start to flare up. It’s not normal for you to feel this way, either. How could he do this? Yes, she’s smart and pretty. But that doesn’t mean jack crap. Being disgusting towards her is wrong. Where are his morals? She isn't interested. She said no!
“If you want to have supervised visits, I’ll be happy to be there. Make it into a play date sort of thing.” It isn't much to offer but at least it's out there. Her lips wobble as she smiles at you. “I would like that, please.”
“Has it gotten that bad already? The project just started.” Benio rubs her back. “Yeah, already. He keeps blowing up my phone. I got in trouble for it in class, remember?” Yeah. English class was a sight when her phone vibrated so much it shook off the desk. The teacher's vein nearly popped due to the interruptions.
“Let me see.” Benio grabs her phone and checks. With every scroll his eyes get wider. “The fuck? We have to tell the teachers.”
“They’ll just say, ‘it’s like real life’.” She mimics their voice. You hold out your hand to reach her. Whatever is on that phone, has made Benio even madder. Steam practically comes out of his ears. “Yeah, but this is sexual harassment. Something that is punishable.”
“Will you go with me?” You and Benio don’t need to be told twice. You spot Kaibara with the red headed big hand girl. You get up and go to him. “I’ll be right back. When I get back, we’ll go directly to Snipe.”
You make your way to him. He laughs and snickers with her, neither one having their baby in hand. “Yo, Kaibara.”
He stops and turns to you. “I need to talk to you.”
“I’m busy right now. I’ve worked hard, I’d like to eat.” You tap your foot and suck your lips in before you speak. “The only thing I see is you jaw jacking and not a single bit of food got in your mouth. All I’m asking for is a minute. I need to talk to you about our baby.”
"Fake baby."
The red head inhales her food. “Mm! That reminds me, I have to go find her. I promised I’d watch the baby.”
“Watch? That’s your kid. You’re not babysitting, you're supposed to be raising.”
She freezes and you turn to Kaibara. “Come on.”
“After that? You broke her.” He grabs her hand and leads her to the rest of Class B. “At least take my number so we can communicate!”
“Later!” He meets up with his friends and Red looks back at me with a guilty look. She lets go of his hand and goes somewhere else.
“Come on, let’s go to Snipe.” You guide Riko up from the table. “What’re you going to him for?” Kaibara miraculously is able to hear you, apparently. He pokes his head up above his friends’ shoulders to peer at you. He goes behind one of them and asks again.
“None of your business,” You snap. Your thumb rubs Riko's hand in an attempt to comfort her. “Come on.” Riko gets up and packs her things while Benio throws everything away. Sen calls out to you again, wondering why you’re going to Snipe. “Later!” You yell.
He really should’ve given his number.
---------------
You stand in the hallway with Benio. Both of your backs are leaning against the wall. You hear Riko’s muffled voice as well as Eraserhead and Snipe. The three of you called them together and showed them the messages. Benio didn’t see them all and you didn’t see a thing, which is probably for the best. Noa is still sleeping soundly in your arms. His chubby cheek is nestled close to your chest. You shift your weight on your feet and look at Benio from the corner of your eye.
“Do you think they’re giving him an excuse?” He rolls his eyes. “Don’t start that shit.” Benio snaps. You whip your head towards him. “I’m worried about her, you little bitch. No need to get snappy.”
“I’m worried too. Skank.”
“Pfft!” You snort. For the first time during lunch period, he cracks a small smile. The door opens and you quickly straighten up. Riko comes out first. “Let’s go, you guys.”
“You sure?”
“Yeah, we’re excused.” You nod and walk with her, Benio and the babies in tow. “What’s going to happen? Will you be okay?”
“I’ll be alright.”
-------
Your arms are becoming numb as you hold Noa. You still don’t have a carrier or the money to afford one. Looking around, everyone is more prepared than you or is just overall better. During lunch, a bunch of them rushed out to buy baby things. Smart bastards.
Noa is squirming more than ever. He isn't crying (yet) but he looks uncomfortable. Maybe it’s gas? You have to document that on your project's papers. Snipe said to write down all the progress, costs, and at the end there will be a written assignment on all of the notes. It's a weird project and clearly an emotional one.
“Sen? Sen?” You go yelling through the hallways of his dorm. Tetsutetsu gets up and goes to you with his baby in his arms. “What’s wrong? I can help.”
“Where is Kaibara?”
“I don’t know. Maybe his room? Is everything okay?” You shake your head no. “No, nothing’s okay. He’s avoiding me and the baby. I need to talk to him.”
Tetsutetsu clenches his fist. “Bet. Follow me.” He goes through the halls demanding to know where he is. Tetsutetsu barges into Kaibara’s room, the door swinging open so hard it now squeaks. He begins to yell, “ Take responsibility!”
“Tetsu, what the hell?” Kaibara shoots up and closes his manga. “You? What’d you do, go to Snipe and have Tetsu on my ass?”
“No, he did that on his own. We need to discuss the baby. Noa needs things and there are times when your schedule works better than mine. There’s so much we need to talk about.” Although a part of you wants to defend yourself for going to Snipe, it isn’t fair to Riko.
“I got this, Tetsu.” Kaibara looks into Tetsutetsu’s eyes. “You better. You and the others are giving us a bad name.”
He leaves and gives you a nod. You shut the door behind him and hand the baby to Kaibara. “Kaibara, meet Noa. Noa, meet your dad.”
“That’s not funny. And it is not right to embarrass me like that!” He holds Noa awkwardly and gives him a weird look, as if he's disgusted or freaked out.
“That’s what you’re worried about? We have a whole child right there-”
“He isn’t real!” He yells, surprisingly, not waking Noa up. Your anger begins to grow. “The costs are real! The necessities are real! The grade is definitely real!”
“Is that what you want? Money?” How the fuck is that what he caught.
“Money? No. I want you to help. I can’t do everything on my own and worry about school. Let’s work on a schedule. Let’s get baby supplies. Communication is amazing, why not do it?”
He brushes past you roughly, pushing you back a little. “Let’s go then.”
The two of you walk to a baby store, passing the many confused and worried expressions. He dips his head into his hoodie. “I should’ve hid my fucking face or something.”
You roll your eyes. “Did it occur to you that they’re staring at us because we’re two teens with a baby?” He scoffs, throwing the door open and doesn’t hold it for you.
 “Jerk.”
Inside, are rows of colorful clothes. Some are hero merchandise and others have cartoons. After the various clothing for all ages are bottles, diapers, binkies, and the like. In the back is the gold mine for children: lots and lots of toys.
“What about this?” You hold up a dinosaur shirt. He rolls his eyes and shrugs. “Can you hold him now?”
This is the first time today you don’t have him and you're still taking care of him while your partner is right there. “No. It’s your quality time.”
You put the dinosaur shirt in the cart. Suddenly, Noa screams bloody murder. You turn to Kaibara who’s freaking out. “What the fuck? He just started-”
“Is everything okay?” An employee comes up. Kaibara quickly gives him to you and says, “I gotta go.”
“At least leave some cash!” He turns around and stomps to you.
“Fucking knew it. Here.” He hands you twenty bucks. As he slams the door open and shut, he hides his face. You bounce Noa. “Is there a bathroom or something?”
“Yeah, come with me. Leave the cart.”
In the bathroom, you lower the table. “I fed you, you took a nap, I changed you-”
She looks at his face. "Babies can sense things too, you know?"
You look up at the woman and ask what she meant. "Children can tell how a person is inside." She nudges her head to point out the door. "And that was clear as the sky today."
“Thank you for your help.” It took twenty minutes for him to calm down and thirty for you. The woman behind the counter is a God send. She’s helped you out more than Kaibara has, and you’ve only known her for a short amount of time. You called Snipe to let him know where you were, and he yelled at you for being late. Whatever. It’s his dumb assignment.
You put the supplies on the counter, fearing the cost. You grabbed a very cheap wrap, not yet being able to afford a proper carrier. You have his money, and the rest of yours.
She looks at you and looks at what’s on the counter. “This isn’t nearly enough. You got some of the essentials. Everything else is missing.”
“I know, I know. I didn't have time to plan or anything. This was sprung on us today, remember?" You wished you had time to at least finance.
She tells you the total. What he gave you doesn’t cover anything but a few shirts and a bo-bo . You buy everything else with nothing left in your account until payday.
-----------
As you go home, Noa decides that it's time to rest again. His soft pudgy face is peaceful and his breathing is steady. “I’m sorry about today. And that you still don’t have a bed…” You set him on your bed comfortably. Afterwards, you put everything away in the few drawers you have.
You are in awe of how little he is. Chubby but overall small. It’s ridiculous how much you spent on a fake baby though, no matter how cute. This entire thing is unorthodox even by U.A. standards. Students paying for things with their own money is just too much. How did they expect this to happen? Where is the money going to?
It’s not a complete loss, anyway. Things can be recycled, donated, or sold at the end. You rub your face and look around at the lack of things he has. No bed, dresser, playpen, and the only toys he has are the stuffed animals that were on your bed. And he’s too young to be playing with them anyway.
Even though he isn't real, he's not, this is still getting to you. It's way too familiar. You smack your cheeks. He's an assignment, a project, a doll. That's right, a doll. To the side is your white laundry basket. You grab it and put a spare pillow in it, just like you would with your baby dolls when you were a child. “Alright, let’s see if this works.”
Nope, no it doesn’t. You groan and apologize to Noa, who still does not have a bed. That alone bothers you. He looks up at you for a moment then closes his eyes again. He gives a quick smile revealing two dimples on his chubby cheeks. You give him a little kiss.
You gasp. You only had him for a day and you've become attached. Not to a serious degree but enough to warrant a kiss. Maybe it’s because of his likeness to being real. He actually looks like he’d be yours. He feels like a baby. The whole thing is confusing you and you think it’s popping your ovaries or something.
You suddenly feel heavy. Today has been nothing but draining. If you can get a few minutes in, just a few. You need to do the responsible thing and take your meds if you’re going to nap. The bottle is too far. The side of the bed your upper body is leaning on is so comfortable. Eyelids heavy, a yawn, and the day that has been so tiring. You just need a few minutes…
There’s a knock on the door. You perk up and check on Noa, who is still asleep. You wipe your drool from your face and arm. Your knees crack in pain from sleeping on them. “I’m old, so, so old.”
“Hello?” You say as you open the door. Ema bounces and excitedly tells you, “Deku’s on the phone!”
“Bitch, did you really wake me up for that?” It’s the audacity. The sheer amount of stupid is astounding.
“Fucker. Anyway, come on! He’s face timing my baby daddy right now.”
“Hold on, let me get Noa.” You grab your bag that has a pink dress uniform in it and then snatch his diaper bag off of your chair. Right as you're about to leave your room, your eyes find the long mirror. The dry erase marker is fading and needs to be redone, and you must put more reminders on it, too.
Your eyes stay there too long. You can feel yourself about to drift away in the color of a light purple and dark blue, swirling around each other with twinkling stars. The smell of lavender starts to push through the scent of the blown out candle in your room. A moon is peering out of the colors, soon to move and send you into another dream.
Suddenly, Ema yells your name. It comes into your head like an echo, something distant and not seen. You begin to come out of it when Noa starts to cry. You blink and wipe your eyes. Noa immediately stops crying. “Thanks, bud.”
Downstairs, Kirishima holds his phone out and talks. “We miss you! When are you coming back?”
“In a few weeks, I think? Maybe a month. I’m not sure but I'm making tons of progress! I'm starting to feel more secure in my suit."
You enter the commons and spot the spiky redhead talking animatedly to the green on the screen. "It's a cool suit! I like how it looks a lot like your usual-here she is. Her name's (Y/n). (Y/n), meet Izuku Midoriya."
Your face then takes up the screen. Round green eyes meet yours. He doesn’t say anything at first, he just stares. Finally, he stutters as he introduces himself. Anytime he’s brought up, you’ve been shown this freckled baby face. Now, you’re looking at someone who’s gaining mature definition. His cheeks are a little slimmer and his scar adds a rugged look. His curls are no longer all over his head but are now neatly trimmed. All in all, he is not bad to look at. He’s surprisingly easy on the eyes.
“Okay.” Ema elbows you and tells you to be nice. “What? Why am I here?” You whisper back. You feel Midoriya’s eyes on you as you talk.
“So you won’t be here for a while?” Kirishima sounds sad that his friend is still gone. “I’ll be there soon!”
“You just said-”
“No, no, no. I’ll be there!” He moves his phone in a way that covers the lower half of his face that is growing pink.
Why are his eyes so round? He looks scared.
Ema chuckles under her breath and smiles at you. You look at the time and jump. “Shit! It’s been nice talking to you, but I’ve got to go.”
  “Alright, see you-”
“It was nice meeting you!” You stop and turn back to look at the green haired guy on the phone. He scratches his head and gives a close eyed smile. Kirishima tells him to calm down. Ema shakes her head slightly. The bright shine in her eyes is dimmed as they go to the floor. A small smile appears on her lips. “Oh, dear. Deku is something else.”
You bid them goodbye and run to find him. Noa stays calm as you cradle him gently. Finally, you see him as you push past the doors of his dorm. Kaibara is in the Class B commons sitting with his phone in his hand and his bare feet propped up on the coffee table. Many of his class stand around and talk or do homework. You take a deep breath before you say anything, like ‘you’re not helping you dumbass maggot.’ or ‘eat the dust that Shigaraki himself made’. You want to be civil for now.
“Kaibara, I need you for tonight.” And during the day too, preferably. He straightens up in his seat. Immediately, he frowns.  “What? In the morning-”
“Is your home room. Stop. I need you to watch him in the evenings after school.”
“Until when?” He harshly whispers, looking around at his friends, hoping they don’t see or hear this too much.
“Around seven or eight? I’ll call to let you know.” You take off the diaper bag. “Here you go. By the way, he wears special diapers that Hatsume makes so you'll need to go get some more. He's terribly allergic to the regular ones she makes.”
“I-I can’t-” He stutters. Right now, he doesn’t look too much like a hero, just some punk ass teen in an Eeyore sweater whose mom just told him to watch his brother for an hour.
You hold up your hand. “You can, and you will. This is your son, right? Someone you wanted as a junior?” You hand him Noa, who is awake. “I’ll see you later, pumpkin.” You give Noa's cheek a poke.
  Kaibara is silent. Completely silent.
------------
“Benio? What’re doing?” You ask just as you’re about to head out of the U.A. gates. You didn't expect to run into him this time of day. He’s stomping with his kid in his arms. Last you saw her, she was wearing a basic outfit to go out. A purple onesie with a cheesey graphic design and some pants. Now she's in lavish clothing that you know he didn't give her. They look expensive and well put together. It's something an Instagram mom would make her kids wear; nothing like a child would be sporting if they had a normal parent. “She’s the fucking worst, I swear to God.”
“Who?”  He can’t possibly be talking about his baby. He likes the kid too much, even though he’ll deny it. The way he looks at her and can't stop cooing is too telling. He's taken gobs of pictures already and the project just started.
“That bitch, Yaomomo. Or whatever the fuck people call her,” He growls. A pebble flies away by his kick. “You were right. I give up.”
Your opinions can be controversial, especially in a hero loving society. So, him admitting that is pretty huge. Although you want to gloat, you can’t help but feel bad for him and his descent to anger and hate all caused by a stupid future pro.

“If you choose him don’t expect me to come rescue you.” You heard him say anger evident in his voice.
“You’re not my fucking dad Kakashi. I’m 17 I can do as I like. Who are you to tell me what to do?! You’re not my boyfriend OR my lover. You’re a friend. Well. WERE.” You screamed back tears spilling down your cheeks as rage flooded your eyes.
“Were? What’s that supposed to mean?” He asked not missing what you’d said.
“Get out.” You said through ragged breaths.
“Fine. But I’m not coming back. I’ve watched time and time again you being hurt. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Good luck.” Kakashi turned on his heels and slammed the door as he left. Your eyes stared after the man who had just walked out of your life. He’d been your best friend forever. You’d met him when your older brother Asuma had introduced you to him when you were younger.
“Fucking bastard” you screamed at the door launching a cup at it. You watched the porcelain shatter. You felt like you’d been punched in the chest. It hurt losing your best friend but you weren’t about to dump your boyfriend all because Kakashi had heard rumors. Rumors that Sasuke was a serial cheater, pathological liar, and master manipulator. Sinking down the wall you hugged your thighs as your chubby frame prevented you from holding your knees without your chest being shoved into your face.
A knock landed on your front door. Looking up from the floor you snarled “go away Kakashi! I want nothing to do with you.” The door opened revealing your boyfriend.
“What happened babe?” Sasuke asked concern lacing his voice.
“Doesn’t matter.” You mumbled anger still searing your veins.
“Well get up and get ready we are going out tonight. My brothers in town.” He said nonchalantly. “Make sure you
look good.” He said off hand. You looked up staring at his back. “Don’t I always look good?” You thought.
“Of course baby. I’m gonna shower can you pick out an outfit for me?” You asked softly.
“Yeah. I got you.” He said as he headed for you room shuffling through your closet. Pulling out a black dress and black heels he left them on the bathroom counter.
That night you’d gone out with his brother, he was a decent man kinda gloomy but cool none the less. Sasuke dropped you back at your place telling you he had work in the morning.
“Love you babe. Sleep well.” You said
“You too.” Was all you got as a response watching him pull off.
~time skip~
3 years had passed. They had been a bit rocky. Okay a lot rocky it sucked. It started small back handed compliments, small jabs at your body, style, weight, career, and other things. Then it was bigger things going through your phone and computer claiming it was safety, him watching other girls thinner girls, prettier girls, better girls. Before long it was outright “well if you were better I wouldn’t have to look at other woman”, and constant gaslighting to make you think it was your fault. It all came to a head when you had decided to surprise him.
“Oh Sasuke, feels so good, fuck you’re huge!” You heard a woman’s voice call out from behind the closed door.
“Fuck you’re so damn tight so much better than the used toy I have to put up with.” You heard him groan back. Your hand hovered above the door knob. You’re heart hurt. You felt sick. Memories of you and him flooded your mind, the hugs, kisses, sex, fights, comments, the lies. You’d known, known the whole fucking time. Slowly you slid your key into the lock. Turning it slowly so as not to be heard you slammed the door open. Both people stared at you. Sakura on top of Sasuke both completely naked. You looked at both of them before dropping your key on the floor turning and running.
“Well at least I don’t have to put up with her now.” We’re the last words you heard him say.
“Hey wanna go out tonight? I need a girls night or something.” You typed out to the group chat. Tamari, hinata, ino, tenten, and your brothers wife kurenai in it.
Temari: I’m down shikamaru and choji are going for drinks with Naruto and kankuro they both just got back from uni.
Hinata: sure what time are you thinking? 😊
Tenten: GIRLS NIGHT HELL YA! 🥳🥳
Ino: absolutely where should we go? Isn’t there a new club in town that opened like 3 weeks ago?
Kurenai: y/n you don’t often ask to go out, what’s going on? I’m absolutely available Atsumas working late want me to see if he can meet us?
You: he was right. He was no good for me. He… he was cheating.
Your phone immediately rang Kurenais caller id flashing.
“Hi sis.” You said your voice quiet, broken, hurt.
“What happened?!” She said but before you could answer the other girls were calling. You decided jumping on Skype would be easier.
“I. I went to surprise him after work. But he was balls deep in Sakura.” You said.
“Are you fucking serious?! YOU SAW THEM?!” Ino said anger dripping from her voice
“Oh y/n I’m so sorry! That’s horrible.” Hinatas soft voice said.
Tenten and temari were both beside themselves ranting and raging on about filthy pigs.
“I vote we meet at y/ns place in an hour and we all get ready together” kurenai suggested everyone agreed. Hanging up you went to eat something real quick and grab a shower. Stepping back into the living room you heard multiple knocks and voices at your front door. Pulling it open you saw the girls holding snacks and candy and Ino had brought flowers from her floral shop.
“These are for you hun.” She said hugging you.
“Asuma said he will meet us there he’s also bringing one of his friends not sure who just said a buddy from work” Kurenai said hugging you and dropping the snacks on the couch
“Let’s get this party started!” Temari said turning on the speaker and playing some music as everyone began unloading bags, eating snacks and getting ready. It still hurt. It had been a couple days since you walked in on what happened. You however weren’t going to let that bastard get the best of you.
“Group photo girls! Get over here!” You shouted over the music laughing as everyone gathered around for the photo. All of you were in short dresses, heels, make up, and hair done.
“Mind if I post this?” You asked the room everyone said go for it! Smiling you uploaded it to Instagram with the caption “girls night with these ladies can’t wait!” You smiled as it posted.
“Ubers here!” Hinata said as she looked at her phone screen. Everyone began heading down stares to the suv. Climbing in you all chatted happily. You couldn’t wait, you needed this, a night out drinking, dancing, hell maybe you’d find something fun for the weekend. The drive took about 30 minutes everyone slid out of the suv and headed for the door showing ids. The bass hit you like a hammer it pounded beyond loud, the strobe lights flashed on the dance floor as people danced on the floor.
“I’m heading for the bar!” You said grabbing kurenai and tamari’s hands knowing they like to drink before hitting the floor the other girls head straight for the floor and began dancing. 4 shots of tequila later you found yourself on the floor dancing with some guy. You had to admit he was pretty damn hot. His hands rested on your hips as your ass ground against him. Swaying to the music you slowly began to relax.
“I’ll be right back!” You yelled to the guy, he nodded showing he’d heard you. You headed to the bar ordering a couple Jell-O shots and 2 shots of Jose Cuervo. Downing all of it you turned around only to find the guy dancing with someone else. You felt a pang in your chest. Suddenly you felt an arm sling across your shoulders
“I heard what happened.” You heard your brothers voice by your ear. You let out a mhm nodding that you understood.
“Is kurenai on the floor?” He asked you nodded and watched Asuma head for the dance floor. You looked around wondering who your brother had brought. You didn’t see anyone you recognized. Shrugging it off you headed back to the dance floor swinging your hips back and forth hands in the air just letting the music and lights wash over you and take control. Suddenly you felt two arms snake around your waist and pull you back into a solid body. You didn’t turn around, didn’t check to see who was touching you cause honestly you just didn’t fucking care. You were drunk and hurting all you wanted was to feel something. Anything. Half an hour you spent dancing with the mystery man. You called over your shoulder saying you needed to use the restroom. You felt the arms loosen but not release as they helped you get through the crowd. Smiling, you entered the bathroom. You quickly pee and wash your hands.
“Hopefully this guy still wants to dance.” You whispered as you fixed your hair and applied lip gloss. Heading for the exit you realized something too late. You had no fucking clue who it was you were dancing with. You hadn’t caught his name or even seen his face. Deflating you left the bathroom. Suddenly you looked up scanning the crowd when you saw a sight that absolutely stopped your heart. There he stood in all his glory. The man you hadn’t seen or heard from after that huge fight 3 years prior.
“K-Kakashi.” You breathed out suddenly much more sober. Before you could stop it your eyes brimmed with tears, a hurricane of emotions swirling in your head and heart. Your stomach fell through the floor. You felt like you were gonna be sick.
“You ready to return to dancing?” He asked staring at you. Your face drained of color. You’d been grinding against Kakashi. The entire time. Turning on your heels you re-entered the bathroom entering a stall you collapsed and proceeded to vomit the contents of your stomach into the toilet. Breathing hard you stood flushing the toilet and rinsing your mouth with water from the sink. Staring into the mirror you couldn’t help but wonder what the probability was that he was here by accident. Suddenly Kurenai entered.
“Are you okay? Kakashi said you had come to use the restroom and when you came out and saw him you quickly came back in. What’s wrong?” She asked concern, lacing her voice as she stared at you brushing hair from your face.
“I. I just spent half an hour grinding on him. In his arms. Running my hands through his hair. I. I didn’t turn to look at his face. I didn’t realize. I only realized when he asked me if I was ready to dance again.” You said staring at your feet. “I had to come back in here because I ended up vomiting from the shock of it. I haven’t talked to him for three years and suddenly here he is holding me to him as if we were best friends or…. Lovers.” You finished whispering the word ‘lovers’. You continued to stare at your feet.
Little did you know Kurenai wore a very guilty expression. Placing her hand on your shoulder and watching you look up finally she admitted “I knew. I knew who Asuma was bringing. I knew it was Kakashi dancing with you because I helped him find you. He’ll never admit it but that day you fought was really hard for him. Losing you was hard on him. And we both know you went through hell.”
“You WHAT?!” You said indignation crossing your face. “Why didn’t you tell me?! I never would have come. WHY?!” You said pain seeping out of your voice. You could lie to the world, your friends, even your own big brother but the truth was you loved Kakashi. Always had. You loved the way his hair was always spiked up, the way he made you laugh, his face as he read one of those erotic novels, his voice every time he called your name, the way his muscles flexed as he worked out or moved. Staring down you couldn’t help but feel a twinge of arousal bloom.
“Because. We both know you need him.” She said. “Don’t give me that look you may be able to lie to others but I see the way you look at him.” She continued “now. Get out there to him.” She finished pushing you back out of the restroom. You stumbled some and looked up.
“I’m right here beautiful.” You heard Kakashi say from the left. Spinning you stared at him. You took in his face. Always so beautiful. Swallowing hard you turned and walked out the back door. The cool air hit your face making you sigh. It felt good as it was quiet hot in the club. You didn’t know if Kakashi had followed but soon got the answer when he leaned on the wall next to you.
“I’m sorry.” Was all that came out of your mouth.
“Don’t be. I shouldn’t have been so rude.” He said back
“So. What’s new?” You asked staring at the wall to the side of his face. You couldn’t look him in the face.
“Was promoted to manager. Other than that not much.” He said shrugging. “How about you?” He asked
“Nothing really.” You responded looking down.
“Heard what happened. Are you okay?” He stared at you eyes fixed on your beautiful face.
“M’fine.” You grumbled you really didn’t want to talk about this. “But honestly I may just catch an Uber home I just. I don’t know don’t really feel like being here.” You mumbled out pulling your phone out to book an Uber.
“I can take you home. I’m sure Asuma would feel safer if I did. I’m sober so don’t worry.” He said as he pulled his phone out to let Asuma know he had you and was taking you home.
“Come on y/n/n” he said leading you to his car helping you in as you still were very uncoordinated from all the alcohol.
“Thanks.”
“No problem.”
“Will you stay with me tonight? Just in case something happens.” You asked meekly.
“I was lying when I said I’d never come back.” He said rubbing the back of your head like he did when you were younger.
“Thank you.” About 30 later you were being helped out of Kakashi's car and guided into your apartment.
“Bed or couch? And what do you want to eat? You’ll feel better if you have food in your stomach to absorb the alcohol.” Kakashi said looking you in the eyes as he held onto your waist to keep you up right.
“I want you.” You mumbled before trying to pull him into a kiss only to be met with his palm against your lips.
“Couch or bed Y/n?” He asked again removing his hand some.
“I said you.” You said again, annoyance evident.
“You’re drunk. I’m not kissing you y/n. You’re to far gone to be in your right mind. If you still want to kiss me hell if you want to fuck me in the morning when you’re sober that’s fine. But right now your judgement is skewed and I’m not gonna be your one night stand or way to feel better about yourself I refuse to be your emotional support fuck toy.” He said calmly. Pouting you pushed away and collapsed on the couch.
“Take the bed.” You grumbled before falling into a deep sleep the emotional exhaustion mixing with the alcohol to lull you into a deep sleep. Kakashi watched your sleeping form wishing more than anything you were sober. Wishing you were pinned to the wall in a heated make out session with him but you weren’t sober. Letting out a soft sigh he made his way into your bedroom only to be met with a sight he didn’t expect there on your dresser was a photo of the two of you, your arms wrapped around his neck as he sat eating. Your brother had snapped the photo claiming it was “just to cute to pass up taking a photo”. He picked the photo up sitting on the edge of your bed.
“If only I’d followed your advice Asuma. If only I’d listened. Maybe she wouldn’t be hurting so much right now.” As if on cue Asumas ring tone blared through the room.
“Hey you got y/n right? Is she okay?” Asumas worried voice asked through the receiver.
“Yes I have her, she’s fine, asleep on the couch I’m sitting on her bed currently.” Kakashi replied, setting the photo next to him with an edge of defeat in his voice.
“Are you okay?” Kurenais voice could be heard.
“Yeah. I’m fine just told her I won’t be her emotional support fuck toy after she tried to kiss me. Told her in the morning when she’s sober if she wants to kiss hell if she wants me to fuck her I absolutely will but only if she’s completely sober and in a state of mind to make the judgment.” Kakashi replied. “Asuma. I’m sorry. I doubt you wanted to hear any of that about your sister. But I’m also sorry I didn’t take your advice.” Kakashi said laying back on your bed staring at the ceiling willing the twinge of pain in his chest away.
“Thank you for refusing her while she’s drunk instead of taking advantage of it.” Asuma said in a rather impressed and proud voice. “Now. If you follow through I’d rather not hear about that.” Asuma quipped.
“I won’t tell you. Honest.” Kakashi huffed out a laugh before saying good bye and hanging up. But, would you still want him tomorrow? Once you were sober would you be happy to see him? Would you still want that kiss? All these painful thoughts ran through his head. He finally had you back; he didn't want to lose you.
~following morning~
Groaning you toppled off the couch and landed splayed on the floor.
“Never drinkin again” you groaned into the soft carpet. Yawning you reached for your phone that was set on the coffee table.
5 missed calls 5 voicemails and 20 texts. Everything was similar where are you? Are you okay? Who did you leave with? Are you alive? At least your friends cared. You text everyone saying you’re okay and alive but aren’t sure what happened.
Y/n: did any one take photos last night?
Ino: ya all of us did. You want the ones of you and the guy you were with?
Y/n: I was with someone? Everythings really blurry. I’m not to hungover so that’s a plus.
Suddenly you had a dozen photos flooding your phone. A couple from ino, tenten, temari and even kuranai.
Ino: so who’s the hottie you were with?
Opening a photo you saw a man standing behind you, his hands gripping your plush hips as you ground your ass against him. Suddenly a sick feeling hit you as you looked at the other photos one of which showed part of the guys face. “It. It can’t be.” You muttered hastily you rang kurenai.
“Kurenai is that who I think it is in the photos?!” You shrieked.
“Ya. It is. You threw up after seeing him because you went into shock. He took you home.” She explained. Suddenly you hung up on her. Pushing yourself up off the floor noticing a note on the coffee table.
“Grabbing breakfast and coffee. We will talk about what happened last night when I get back. -K”
You knew the hand writing. Sure enough Kakashi had brought you home. But what had happened? Slowly you made your way to your room to grab some shorts and tank top and clean under garments. Hurrying you took the quickest shower of your life, brushed your teeth, and tossed your hair up into a messy bun. What had happened last night.
“Dear god I hope I didn’t make a fool of myself. Oh god did we do it?!” You thought allowed.
“No. We didn’t have sex. You did try to Kiss me though. I did however tell you ‘You’re drunk. I’m not kissing you y/n. You’re to far gone to be in your right mind. If you still want to kiss me hell if you want to fuck me in the morning when you’re sober that’s fine. But right now your judgement is skewed and I’m not gonna be your one night stand or way to feel better about yourself I refuse to be your emotional support fuck toy.’ You got upset collapsed on the couch and fell asleep.” Spinning around and nearly knocking yourself off balance.
“Jesus Christ Kakashi! Warning next time.” You said trying to soothe your racing heart beat.
“Sorry. I got your favorite breakfast and coffee.” He held up the cup of coffee and breakfast.
“Thanks. So uhm. What exactly happened last night? Like…. I saw the photos of us uhm dancin.” You said your voice much quieter now as you took the coffee and food and sat on the couch. You watched as kakashi sat on the opposite end of the couch keeping a good distance between you too.
“Well Asuma told me what happened. He than asked if I’d come with him to meet up with you all to kind of surprise you, I decided to agree because if I’m being honest with ya the last 3 years have been pretty shitty without you in my life.” Kakashi finished staring at his hands his normal cool collected composure gone replaced with clear emotional turmoil.
“Did I really try to kiss you?” You meekly asked.
“Ya. You ended up kissing my palm because I wouldn’t let you kiss me while drunk didn’t feel right because you weren’t in your right mind. I didn’t want to do something and than you hate me. I just got you back in my life I mean if you want.” He said looking over at you only to find you standing in front of him.
“Wha-“ Kakashi started but you planted yourself on his lap straddling him.
“I’m sober now. Can I have that kiss?” You asked staring at him. “Can I have you? I remember clearly saying ‘you’ when you asked bed or couch. So can I have you now?” You asked shyly. Expecting him to push you away and get upset he grabbed the back of your head and pulled you into a breath taking kiss. A small whine left your throat as you braced yourself on the back of the couch.
“When I saw you in the club dancing and I grabbed you and held you close I was beyond hard. When you kissed my palm last night I wanted so desperately to kiss you but it wasn’t right.” He whispered against your lips.
“I’ve missed you Kakashi.” You mumbled against his lips. His hands held your plush waist as you leaned back in to kiss him. A jolt of pleasure immediately ran through your body as his tongue swiped across your bottom lip. Parting your lips you were met with his tongue and a moan escaped your mouth. You could feel yourself grow wet deciding it was time to finally take what you’ve wanted since you were barely 15 you ground your clothed cunt against Kakashis ever hardening cock.
“Fuck. I want you so bad. I want all of your beautiful body” Kakashi groaned loudly as you continued to roll your hips against him. Standing up you removed your shirt as you walked towards your bedroom. Reaching back you unhooked your bra letting it hit the floor.
“Then come get it.” You said sheer lust oozing from your voice. Kakashi was up and following you riding himself of his coat and shirt and undoing his jeans as he entered the room to find you sitting on your bed completely naked. He froze staring at you.
“So. Fuck so fucking beautiful.” He quickly crawled onto the bed. “You ready baby?” He asked as he rubbed your thick thighs.
“Please touch me. Need you so bad.” You whimpered. Squeaking Kakashi pulled you so you laid flat on your back your legs wide open every inch of your dripping pussy on display.
“I’m gonna make you cum so fucking hard.” He said before diving between your thighs. The sound you made wasn’t human. Your hands tangled in his hair twisting the soft white hair around your fingers as he lapped at your absolutely drenched pussy.
“So good. Fuck so so so so so good Kaaaakashi” you moaned loudly as he slipped two fingers into your clenching pussy curling them and twisting them as he fucked you with his fingers. You’d dreamed of this so many times craved this thought of him when another touched you.
“You taste like heaven princess look at your pretty cunt taking my fingers you like that baby girl? Tell me how long have you thought of me? How long have you touched yourself thinking of me?” He asked his voice dropping several octaves.
“Since I was 15…. When I first saw you shirtless when we all went swimming. When I got home I tried taking an ice cold shower. But it didn’t help. I had to cum 3 times before I felt relief.” You admitted looking over your breasts and belly.
“Well now I don’t feel like such a dirty pervert. Getting off to you after you turned 17.” He admitted before returning to sucking on your clit. Your back arched off the bed as he continued fingering you, suddenly you screeched as he nailed your gspot.
“KAKASHI RIGHT THERE FUCK RIGHT THERE FUCK FUCK FUCK” you damn near screamed as he assaulted that spot.
“Cum for me my sweet girl” he said and watched as you arched your back and did exactly as you were told. Your thighs locked around his head as he continues to fuck you on his fingers. “Look at you pretty girl.” He moaned before pulling his fingers out as you laid panting.
“Switch. Me. Want. To. Taste.” You said through your pants. You moved and let Kakashi take your place before laying flat on your plush stomach. Staring you released him from his jeans and underwear. The sheer size shocked you. It wasn’t huge but it wasn’t small it was just perfect. Your face flushed crimson as you took it in your mouth. Breathing slowly through your nose as you forced his dick down your throat.
“Fuck so pretty with your mouth stuffed with my cock pretty girl. You take me so good.” He moaned as he grabbed your hair controlling your tempo.
Whining you continued to suck him off desperate to see him cum. Looking up through your lashes you watched as he slowly lost the calm. Suddenly you were pulled up, flipped and felt Kakashis dick right at your entrance.
“Can’t wait are you ready?” He whispered in your ear. You nodded and in one swift movement he was sheathed fully inside you your walls clenching around his dick. “Fuck you’re so fucking tight.” He moaned as he began pounding into you as he gripped your hair pulling your head back.
“So big. So fucking good I’m so fucking full baby.” You moaned loudly as he gripped your hips and absolutely plundered your cunt. The only sounds was moans, grunts, and skin on skin. You didn’t know how long he was fucking you, alls you knew was you were dripping wet, your hips were bruised in his crushing grip, your eyes were watering drool dripping down your chin. You were an absolutely fucked out mess under him.
“Baby do you want to ride my dick?” He asked as he slowed down. Alls you could do was nod. You watched as he leaned back against the headboard beckoning you forward as you crawled into his lap sinking down onto him. “I’m gonna fill that pretty little cunt with my cum. You hear me? Tell me my sweet y/n who do you belong to?” He asked, that cool demeanor mixing with a sultry edge.
“You. I belong to you.” You whined out as he lifted and slammed you back down on him. Collapsing forward you felt another orgasm wash over your overstimulated body. Suddenly you felt his thighs tensing under you and with one last hard slam down he held you still painting your insides white with his seed a loud moan leaving his lips as he buried his face in your neck. Whining at the feeling you both took a minute to breathe and let your heart rate settle.
“That was incredible.” Kakashi mumbled against your shoulder as he wrapped his arms around your plush body holding you to him one of his hands tangling in your hair to keep you in place. “Please. Please don’t walk out of my life again.” Looking down you saw a Kakashi you’d never seen. You saw a broken man who’d suffered without you.
“I’ll never leave you again.”
~4 years later~
“Kurenai, where are we going? Can’t I take this damn blind fold off?” You asked, annoyance obvious in your voice.
“Absolutely not. Sorry!” She chirped clearly enjoying your annoyance. “We’re almost there anyways!” About 10 minutes later you felt the car stop.
“Hold still I’ll help you once we get to the area I’ll remove your blind fold okay?” She said, guiding you out of the suv. You could hear gravel beneath your feet. After about 3ish minutes she stops you. You feel her let go and hear her move away.
“Take it off.” She says. Removing your blind fold you see a long path lit by lanterns. Looking towards kuranai you let out a soft gasp. There she stood in a simple red dress holding 4 red roses with a small poster that read ‘one for each year we’ve been as one’. Taking them you feel a warmth spread through your chest.
“Come on” she says taking your hand and leading you on. Soon you meet up the ino. She has 7 more roses with a note saying ‘one for all the years I’ve loved you.”
Continuing on being led by both ladies you meet your brother about 100 feet from a clearing he’s holding a single rose.
“A rose for you from the man who will always love you.” Asuma says as he gently takes your hand pulling you into the clearing. Your heart absolutely burst. There stood Shikamaru, kankuro, temari, choji, naruto, hinata, tenten, lee, sai, and even gai. You watched as ino, kuranai, and Asuma all joined the line half circle of people. Slowly you approached the line to find one person missing.
“Where’s Kakashi? And what’s going on?” You asked peering at everyone’s faces.
“I’m right here y/n” you heard his voice call from behind you. Spinning around you were met with a sight that made your heart leap into your throat right there down on one knee was Kakashi holding a small box open that contained a beautiful ring.
“Y/n l/n, will you marry me?” He asked looking into your tear filled eyes.
“YES OH MY GOODNESS YES!!” You yelled in a matter of minutes you could hear cheers erupt behind you as Kakashi lifted your plush body up kissing you.
“I love you beautiful.” Kakashi breathed out as he slid the ring onto your finger.
“I love you more.” You said as you kissed him.
~5 years later~
The wedding had been incredible. Everyone had come. Asuma stood in as your father given your guys father had passed when you were fairly young. To everyone’s shock Gai had been Kakashis best man. Hinata, ino, temari, and tenten all served as bridesmaids. Kuranai served as your maid of honor. Naruto, shikamaru, sai, and lee served as groomsmen. It had been and absolutely beautiful affair.
“Mom. Minato took my car.” You heard your son obito yell.
“Minato you give the car back to your brother!” You snipped at your older son.
“Now boys. Play nice your poor mama doesn’t need any extra stress.” You heard your husband say. Smiling you took in the sight of Kakashi with the boys. Your life was complete.

Modern AU! Kakashi is Naruto's guardian who meets his child's teacher for the first time and immediately falls in love with him
[Part 1]
“Naruto, are you dressed?” - Kakashi quickly put the dishes off the table in the sink and sighed tiredly.
He didn't get enough sleep at all. When he returned home at dawn, he found Naruto sleeping on the sofa in the living room. The child did not wait for him and fell asleep. There were empty packages of ramen and chips scattered around the couch. Kakashi carried the boy to his room, barely made it to his bedroom and passed out without even changing into his home clothes. Two hours later the alarm clock rang. Kakashi emerged from his restless sleep and trudged to the kitchen to prepare something like breakfast.
Hatake glanced at his watch and cursed quietly. They were already late.
“Naruto!” - he called a little louder, putting on a black leather jacket as he walked. - “Come quickly.”
The boy ran out of his bedroom holding a huge green frog, a gift from his godfather. Kakashi rolled his eyes but kept his mouth shut. He knew that the argument would take much longer, and they were already late.
“Come on, let’s go,” - Kakashi hurried the child, closed the front door and, picking up the boy in his arms, quickly left the entrance.
Hatake opened the back door of a parked silver Toyota bZ4X, carefully placed the child in the child seat and fastened all the seat belts. Quickly walking around the car, Kakashi got behind the wheel and drove off.
“How are things at school?” - the guy asked, without taking his eyes off the road.
Naruto started talking about the past week in an excited voice. Kakashi listened to him with a slight smile on his face. Hatake felt regretful that in the last two weeks he had disappeared at work and missed Naruto’s first days of school. The boy graduated from kindergarten and Hatake spent a long time racking his brains over which school to send him to. He checked about ten schools until Rin came to his aid and delicately slipped the Academy's business card into his pocket. Kakashi went there several times before finally making his decision. He managed to take Naruto to his first day at school, but then he was urgently called to work, and Naruto spent the following days at Obito and Rin's home.
“And then we ran around the field five more times and sensei gave us stickers with turtles!”
“With turtles?” - Kakashi asked.
“Yes!” - Naruto nodded, his blond hair disheveled and his big blue eyes shining with delight. - “I gave mine to Sakura-chan.”
Kakashi grinned. He had already heard enough stories from Naruto about this girl. The way Naruto excitedly could talk about Sakura for hours reminded Kakashi of Obito as a child. Kakashi had not yet had the chance to meet Sakura and Naruto's other classmates, but he had already learned a lot about them from Naruto's stories. It seemed that the child felt quite comfortable at school. This couldn't help but please Kakashi.
The car stopped smoothly. Kakashi parked and helped Naruto out of the car. The boy ran to the entrance. Hatake exhaled tiredly and followed him.
“Sensei!” - Kakashi heard Naruto's loud voice.
“Naruto!” - came an even louder male voice.
Kakashi looked up and froze. A tall man stood right in front of him. His broad shoulders were covered with an olive shirt that did not hide the inflated body. Kakashi glanced at the man’s figure and swallowed. Then his eyes met the dark brown eyes of the stranger and Kakashi held his breath.
“Nii-chan?” - he heard Naruto's voice and shuddered.
Hatake mentally cursed. He acted like a real idiot. Kakashi smiled welcomingly.
“Hello, you must be Naruto's teacher”, - he said and thanked for the thousandth time his hard training at work to control his emotions.
“Hello”, - the man extended his hand. - “Yes, that is right. Are you Hatake-san?”
Kakashi felt his hand disappear into the man’s wide palm. The teacher's voice turned out to be exactly how Kakashi imagined it. Hatake tried to stop his thoughts before he went too far. What's happening to him? This is their first meeting and this is Naruto's teacher. Kakashi shouldn't act like some sixteen year old who saw a handsome man for the first time. But, to be fair, this man looked simply stunning.
“What can I call you?” - Kakashi asked, breaking the handshake and immediately missing the warmth of the man's hand.
“My name is Might Guy, but you can just call me Guy”, - the man smiled good-naturedly. - “I'm glad to finally meet you, Hatake-san. Naruto talked a lot about you.”
“Yes?” - Kakashi asked casually, processing new information about the man in his head. - “I hope only good things.”
“This is true.”
Silence fell between them. Kakashi couldn't help but notice that the man was also looking him over carefully and very obviously. Hatake was used to such looks from other people, but Guy's dark brown eyes seemed to see right through him.
“Hm, I guess I’ll go”, - Kakashi looked away for a second, trying to collect his thoughts, and then leaned over the boy. - “Rin will pick you up today. Sorry, but you'll have to spend the night with them today. I’ll pick you up tomorrow.”
“Do you promise?” - Naruto’s big blue eyes were filled with sadness mixed with unspoken resentment.
“I promise.”
Naruto hugged him tightly around the waist, Kakashi ruffled his blond hair. Guy watched them with an unreadable expression on his face.
“Well, Naruto, I think it's time for us to let your…”, - Guy hesitated for a second. - “Hatake-san to work. We have so many things planned today!”
Naruto reluctantly let go of Kakashi and extended his hand to Guy.
“S-Sasuke has arrived yet?” - the boy asked with hope in his voice.
“Yes! The young Uchiha is already in class.”
A smile appeared on Naruto's face.
“Come quickly, sensei, I brought my kunai to show him”, - Naruto rushed from his place, pulling the man with him.
Kakashi caught Guy's soft smile before they both disappeared inside the building. Hatake stood on the road for a few more seconds, and then shook his head and headed towards the car.

Three's A Crowd - Chapter 13
Summary:
SasuSaku. He didn't mean to kill that man. He had simply reacted to being attacked. And now Konoha is forced to hunt down the rogue members of Team 7, or risk open war. Eventual NaruHina.
XXX
Read from the beginning. This is a work in progress story you can find on tumblr and AO3 and completed on FF.NET.
[All tumblr posts will be tagged ‘Three’s A Crowd’ with their corresponding chapter for quick and easy access.]
Enjoy. :)
Kumogakure was situated in a range of mountains, earning the literal meaning for its name: Village Hidden by Clouds. Sakura wasn't afraid of heights, not really, but aside from the breath taking view, it left her feeling a little giddy. She had not anticipated the arrival of Kumogakure ninja to her door, so she'd only managed to grab her half empty bag before making a dash out the window. Her journal was in the bag, as were a number of clothes, but she was leaving behind other personal items too – a brooch from her grandmother on her father's side, her mother's opal pendant, her hitai-ate… not to mention her nebúkuro (sleeping bag).
That was a mistake. Leaving behind those items saved her life in the short term, but they had her scent on them, as well as Sasuke's, and probably Naruto's as well. It was an inexcusable mistake: one that was going to bite her in the ass.
Sakura followed the winding roads of Kumo and kept to the sides of buildings as she went, wondering what had happened to Sasuke and Naruto. They were late in switching shifts with her and instead of them, cloud ninja had come calling instead. She pulled the hood of her shirt out from under her jacket to cover her hair – dressed like a civilian, it was the quickest way to hide any identifying characteristics the ninja might already know about her. If Sāmu hadn't been lying, then the Raikage was looking for a pink haired Kunoichi, not a drab looking, sulking girl walking around on her own.
Of course, this only made her fears for Sasuke and Naruto heighten, especially at the sight of several ANBU squads passing nearby who sounded like they were rushing toward something. She glanced upward, toward the large blue building that housed the Raikage and turned away from it. The closer she had absentmindedly gotten to it, the more ninja there were. They were definitely looking for someone, and focusing their attention closest to the mountain peak on which the Raikage's Office Building was perched.
Did they think Kitsúne was in Kumo to assassinate A?
Sakura found it hard to believe anyone could be that stupid… except, it did happen. She made her way closer to the civilian homes and found an empty house to hole up in temporarily while she figured out how to find her boys.
It was almost sundown by the time ANBU guards returned to the waiting room to retrieve the Konoha representatives. Kakashi Hatake did not consider himself to be a politically minded man by instinct, though he knew the 'dos and don'ts' of that world and what to expect when walking into a diplomatic arena – with familiar or unfamiliar relations. With enemies, the situation was never predictable, but with allies, he could at least fall back on the treaty, even if he didn't personally put much stock in it. He could work the system to suit the needs of the mission, carefully though, to not arouse distrust. In the end, he would still retain whatever protection the treaty offered for foreign Shinobi, as long as he didn't start attacking everyone in sight. The treaty was just words on a piece of paper after all.
Figure heads such as the Raikage however, needed to follow it to the letter; and he did, despite his normally brutish nature. But he could theoretically push that blurred line between friendship and all out war, yet such a move from someone so publically conspicuous without provocation was a dangerous game. It made Kakashi wonder, as he walked the hallways, alongside Hinata, Shino, Kiba, and Akamaru, what it was that the Raikage had been expecting with their arrival here. Did he know about Kitsúne? Did he have information on the assassination of the fire Daimyo's brother? Would he be angry at their presence so soon after these peculiar events had happened?
Kakashi barely remembered what the Raikage looked like. It wasn't like he'd been in a position to memorise the features of that buffed up gorilla the last time he was here. A was a beast in appearance, with yellowish-white hair, a small moustache and beard, and the copy ninja often wondered if his roguish appearance was the reason he allowed the more erotic night clubs in Kumo to stay in business, even though all other ninja villages were strict about seedy establishments. Silently, Kakashi decided this Kage was a man who had trouble wooing woman without throwing his weight (or money) around.
Once they were bade to enter, A immediately noticed the only girl in the leaf team – it was rumoured he had a fascination with the goings on of the Hyuuga clan.
Once the etiquette of introductions and protocol for discussing their official reason for being here were over, the Raikage got right down to business. He sat in his chair, while an assistant took notes and two nearby ninja – Kakashi remembered their names were Darui and C – watched the leaf ninja carefully: said Konoha ninja remained standing. Finally, after talking for ten minutes about their treaty and the promises Tsunade had made to A when she had been officially named as the fifth Hokage, the bulking man voiced his main concern.
"I have been authorised by the Lightning Daimyo to extend an agreement with the leaf in conjunction with your Feudal Lord. This new treaty will include your assistance in tracking down rogue ninja in the vicinity of Kumogakure."
"And in return?" Kakashi asked, knowing the Raikage was trying to avoid a two sided deal.
A growled, gritting his teeth as he spoke the words the Lightning Daimyo had demanded he say. "We will withdraw the troops currently stationed on your side of the border to the land of rivers."
"Boss?" Darui asked languidly.
A stared angrily at Kakashi, ignoring Darui's concerns. "I think it's about time the leaf village put all their cards on the table. We all have our theories on who Kitsúne is, and they've assassinated the brother of your daimyo. They've also been spotted near Kumo, so there's no doubt in my mind they're heading here. Who would you think they're coming here to kill, copy ninja?"
"If assassination is their plan," Kakashi said logically, "then there's no telling. The skills and abilities of Kitsúne are unknowns, so there's no way of telling what kind of opponent they could be after."
"Spoken like true Konoha dogs," C snarled.
"Enough," A snapped at his blonde companion, who hastily shut his mouth and lowered his eyes respectfully. The Raikage clenched his fists, looking ready to pulverize the unruffled copy ninja. He wanted to pull the Menpo off the man's lower face and pummel that uncaring attitude right off of him. But this was one of the rare occasions where he was willing to admit that force was out of the question.
"You came here without intent to harm," he stated, keeping his voice low, "so I will show you the same respect. But make no mistake, you will help us track down Kitsúne, no matter who they turn out to be. I will send ANBU with you, along with C – an actual sensor should hasten the search."
"Is that really necessary?" C asked. He didn't trust Konoha ninja. And even if he wasn't allowed to attack them, did he really have to follow them?
"Yes," A said. "Split your team up Hatake – I'm sure you'll want someone from Konoha in whichever team it is that finds the criminals."
Kakashi nodded to his team. His gaze lingered minutely on Shino, whose response was a slight inclination of his head. He understood: Team Guy needed to be told of the situation. Wherever they were currently holding up, only Shino and his Kikaichū knew. And the easiest way to get this over and done with as quickly as possible was to split up, as the Raikage suggested. Hinata followed two Kumo ANBU, glancing back at her teammates one last time before they also found themselves partnered with unfamiliar and taciturn Shinobi of the hidden cloud village.
'Divide and conquer.'
Her time was up. Sakura left the civilian home once she realised its owners were back and was forced out of the area when a Shinobi patrol came close to her. She couldn't risk being found, but it was grating on her nerves, trying to figure out what to do now.
Then she realised: she was looking for the wrong trail. Instead of trying to find Sasuke and Naruto, she should've been looking for that informant of Orochimaru's, Sāmu. There was one place she knew that he would return to and that was the night club, Silken Heat. But this time, she had no intention of going in; keeping her eyes peeled for where Sasuke and Naruto might be lurking as they watched their target, she kept her hands in her pockets, shifting the bag on her shoulder uncomfortably. A pang of grief at the loss of the rest of her stuff cut at her, but there was nothing she could do about that, for now.
Sakura paused at the feel of familiar chakra. Before today, she would never have given this chakra the time of day. The Kumogakure ninja who had first gone to Naruto's empty room (she wasn't sure why) before knocking down hers, were nearby. She didn't hasten her pace – she couldn't without drawing attention to herself. The crowds were thinning and she tried to keep in the middle of them, but she knew something was wrong when several chakra signatures began converging on her position.
With nothing else left to try, Sakura ducked into an alley, created a shadow clone, and then waited as the replica of herself darted toward the nearest rooftop.
A feminine voice rang out. "I saw her, she went that way, hurry!"
The Kumo ninja searching only feet away from the real Sakura wasted no time in hurrying away and Sakura breathed a sigh of relief. Whoever that woman had been, she'd fallen for the trap and led the cloud ninja away. It was getting late again and she still hadn't seen any sign of Sasuke or Naruto. The idea that the Raikage had found them was looking more and more possible.
'Kami, please let them be okay.'
She went rigid, sensing chakra nearby again, her eyes going wide as she realised the owner of the feminine voice hadn't moved away with the others… she wasn't a civilian. She strode toward the slip of darkness between the two buildings and moved the crate out of the way. Sakura stared at her, stunned.
Two pearl eyes stared at her, not remotely surprised to see her.
Sakura however, was shocked. "Hinata?"

Well, last night was a nightmare, maybe even closer to a disaster. You ended up sleeping on the couch since you felt like sleeping with Sakura is wrong, especially after what happened. By the time the first rays of sunshine blasted through the windows, you already quietly packed your stuff, waiting for Sakura downstairs. Leaving your dorm was surely something you've never expected and never wanted, but you had no choice. You made a mistake and you had to leave, not your girlfriend.
Actually, ex-girlfriend.
A few minutes passed and Sakura arrived, clearly tired from last night.
"Hey..."
"Good morning..."
Hearing Sakura's "good morning"s are usually a breath of fresh air, but now, it's quite the opposite.
"Ready to go?"
How ironic of Sakura to ask that. Of course you weren't.
"Yeah, let's just go..."
You unlocked the door and opened it, leaving the keys on the counter next to it. You go outside and hold the bar on the door to close it, taking one last glance at what you used to call home, then turn your back and leave, Sakura following you.
You know how surprised the others will be once they figure out what you did, but they will be specifically shocked that Sakura was in this. As the eldest, they'll probably think that she's the most mature, but she acted the most childish and selfish out of those who were involved.
You had to take a cab since Sakura's home was really far away, and you waited at the edge of the street.
"Hey, Y/N..."
You turn to her.
"My mom came here, you already know that, but she's at my house. So she'll be living with us for now..."
"I don't mind, I'll be happy to see her again."
Sakura's small smile of relief makes you all warm inside, your cheeks turning at a deeper shade of pink as you look back at the street.
After some time, you get into a cab. You were silent the entire time, so was Sakura, but you kept taking glances at the driver and he seemed to focus on Sakura for some reason. You were scared that he might recognize her and go all fan mode or something because that's definitely not what Sakura needed at the moment, so you asked him to let you down at the next stop sign.
After he drove away, you shared your thoughts with Sakura and she thanked you for being so caring. You started walking to Sakura's house, Sakura leading the way. But after a few minutes, you stop, making Sakura look back.
"Y/N?"
You start walking again, Sakura extending a hand towards you for you to take.
"You seem tired, have you slept?"
You take Sakura's hand hesitantly, feeling her intertwining your fingers together as you walk side by side.
"Yes... But I kept waking up."
"I see... You can get some rest back at my place."
You nod your head, trying to keep your eyes open.
"We're almost there, just a few more steps, okay?"
"Okay..."
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, you reached Sakura's house. Sakura knocks on the door, then her mother opens. A bit surprised to see you both, you knew you had to explain what happened, praying that she'll understand and not hate you and most importantly her own daughter for it.
Luckily, after explaining every detail, she didn't yell or do anything like that. She understood how confusing love can be, and considering that Chaewon wasn't as loving as she seemed to be, she was glad to know that you preferred Sakura instead, as well as thought that she was caring, kind, sweet and loving. You didn't have to say it, it was all felt anyway, your explanation was enough to confess what you thought about Sakura and to prove these thoughts were true.
Sakura told you to go to her room and get some rest while she does some more explaining with her mother as well as mother-daughter time, and you complied. You were honestly exhausted and could barely keep your eyes open, so obviously you didn't argue.
[...] — About two hours later...
"Y/N..."
"Mm..."
You stir awake from your sleep to find a cute Sakura looking down at you.
"You've been sleeping for two hours now, I thought I'd wake you up for breakfast."
"Oh."
"We already ate, I left a plate for you downstairs."
"Thanks..."
She helps you off her bed and leads you downstairs, where you sat down in the kitchen and ate. She sat down next to you, not wanting to leave you alone and all awkward.
"I explained everything else to my mom, so..."
"Oh, yeah..."
"Hey, Y/N?"
"Mm?"
"I hope you don't mind us sleeping together."
"I know, I know, you don't have a spare room, but I still insist on sleeping on the couch."
"Hey now, I don't want you waking up with an aching back. Yours is already really broken."
You chuckle, knowing she was right.
"I don't want to bother, your bed is already one person sized."
"I think we fit together pretty well to be considered as a single person."
You blush, rolling your eyes.
"Idiot."
"No you."
"No, you!"
"You."
It was funny to see you two still getting along even after what happened, not really making it awkward and weird and all that. But you couldn't help but think about Chaewon. Even if it was over now, you just wanted to see her again, explain yourself clearly. But it was too late anyway.
Nothing really happened much after breakfast, you and Sakura just gamed all day as she beat your ass because you were winning most of the time, then board games until you got bored (pun intended) and then ate dinner with her mother.
Finally, it was time for bed and you said goodnight to Sakura's mother, then disappeared in her daughter's room. Sakura just finished choosing her pyjamas and turned to you.
"I'm gonna change in the bathroom, I'll be back."
"Alright, I'll change here."
And with that, she left. After a moment, she came back and you were already tucked in, just on your phone. She slides next to you and you turn off your phone, putting it aside and looking at Sakura with a smile.
"Also, small warning, I might snore at night because my nose is blocked..."
Sakura lets out a soft laugh, pulling the covers above her.
"Alright, I'll keep that in mind."
Silence filled the room after you turned off the lights, but you seemed unable to at least close your eyes, and Sakura noticed that.
"What are you thinking about?"
"..."
"Hm?"
"Chaewon..."
Sakura frowns, not really wanting you to think about your ex right now when you're just trying to get some sleep.
"Forget about my relationship, Kkura. How will this affect the group?"
"What do you mean?"
"LE SSERAFIM'S success... It will be so awkward for you now that all of the members know I cheated on Chaewon with you."
"...it doesn't matter, I'll figure something out and I'll work with it."
"I just... Feel like I messed up everything. For Chaewon, for you, for myself, for all of you..."
"Y/N, calm down, it's okay."
"But-"
"It happened, and we can't change the past. I'll try to talk with Chaewon tomorrow before practice, okay?"
You look at her with tired and unconvinced eyes, but her promising voice makes you feel slightly more at ease. She turns her body to face you, no longer laying down on her back but on her side like you were.
"It's okay. I know Chaewon is a bit of a short-tempered rager, but I'll make sure to fix things between us. All of us."
"All of us?"
"Yes."
She brushes a strand of hair behind your ear again, and you have to admit, you love it when she does that. She kisses your forehead, holding you close as she rubs your arm soothingly.
"You're safe with me."
You smile, then give her a quick peck on the lips as a form of gratitude, and she blushes hard at the unexpected gesture. She gives you a peck of her own, and you giggle with her.
"Copying me now?"
She nods shamelessly. You chuckle again before sliding a hand on her shoulder and pulling her closer and kissing her on the lips, to which she responded with a soft one of her own.
"I feel like it's wrong to kiss you right now, but I can't really help it..."
Sakura smiles warmly, stroking your cheek.
"I understand how you feel because I feel the same way. However, we don't have to make anything official, we can just keep it casual until you figure out your real feelings."
You smile, kissing her again and whispering against her lips:
"Thank you, Kkura."
[...] — The next morning... (SAKURA'S POV - WRITTEN IN FIRST PERSON)
I was very nervous about seeing the other members today, but I had no choice. I had to help Y/N, and I had to fix everything before our next concert.
I left early in the morning with a 'good luck' from my mom, leaving Y/N alone in my bed.
The drive at the building was so quiet; I didn't even try to start any conversation with my private driver, so he obviously knew something was wrong, but he said nothing.
Eventually, I arrived and slowly made my way to the practice room. When I entered the room, all eyes were on me. And by 'all eyes' I meant all members were looking at me, but who was focused on me was none other than...-
"Kkura unnie."
"Chaewon..."

His cheeks were always blushed because of alcohol, but there was a time when they got as red as possible, and it was when you kissed them for the first time…
The academy wasn’t hard for him, nor for his lifelong friend, Jushiro who would be there for him every day of his life. The second son of the Kyōraku family was having such a good time there. Laughing, tasting for the first time the pleasures of sake, and chasing women owning his “womanizer” title.
The day of finally finishing their studies, being the first ones to graduate, had arrived. The kids that turned into strong, young, and capable Shinigami were ready to eat the world. And even if there was a little bit of a nostalgic tint in their eyes, they were excited to see what was coming next for them in the Gotei 13…
And, soon, as they expected, the day when Shunsui joined the 8th squad, also arrived. As inexperienced but tenacious as he was, he made the rest of the Shinigami thought it was easy for him… but in reality, it wasn’t at all. No matter how much of a relaxed attitude he seemed to show on the outside, he was dying inside.
However, that laid back façade ended up falling completely when he saw you for the first time. A young Shinigami, also fresh out of the academy, with great skills and beauty, flashed in front of his eyes so delicately, like the sakura blooming on dark brown branches. Your eyes that interlocked with his, gave him what he felt it was a cold look. And the way both felt inside, without even knowing it.
For the first time, he didn’t think of running behind you. He stood freeze. His sharp mandible, that was still pretty soft and beardless, tensed. His deep brown eyes widen, as the pupils in the middle of them. He swallowed with difficulty the burning beverage that for the first time felt upsetting on his stomach.
“Ju- Ukitake… did you- did you see her?” he asked, elbowing his white-haired friend.  Jushiro coughed a little before smiling; he knew this was the first time Shunsui had been lovestruck for real. He wasn’t spitting sweet nothings, nor chasing her; he was blushed, and it wasn’t for sure the sake he had previously drank.
“She is a really pretty miss, Kyoraku. Will you go and talk to her?” he asked, still smiling at the sweet reaction of his friend.
“I- I CAN’T. She surely knows about my reputation… plus, look at her… she won’t even look at me”
Jushiro scoffed, and pat Shunsui’s shoulder before walking away. “Ah… my friend, keep the calm and use that brain of yours this time…”
Truth is, that same night Kyoraku wasn’t able to sleep. He kept daydreaming of your face, of your hair, of how much of an angel you looked when you passed right next to him. “I have to talk to her… but how?”
A week passed, and he hadn’t seen you until Sunday. Were just a thing of destiny? Perhaps it was. Maybe both were too busy with your duties. But for him, it felt like an eternal wait… pretty funny if we considerate how long Shinigami live.
“Drinking? Tonight? COUNT ME IN!” Shunsui’s young self felt the exhilarating sensation of being finally able to celebrate -and drink until passing out-.
As he walked happily with his always sick friend, he looked at the tip of his waraji. He wasn’t as lively as always, and Jushiro knew exactly why. “You know, I think you might see her tonight. Aren’t we all invited? It’s our first week as officers, maybe, she will attend the party too!” Ukitake chimed, seeing how his words instantly energized his friend.
And indeed, Kyoraku began to run with his silky shihakusho looking like a hell butterfly, while Jushiro had trouble keeping up with his pace… but never once he stopped smiling for him.
Wherever Shunsui arrived, the whole place would light up. He was the soul of the party, and as he stepped inside of that bar his eyes didn’t stop scanning every face until finding yours.
Of course, once he spotted you he wanted to go talk to you… but he couldn’t immediately do it. Was that fact that many of his friends wanted to drink with him? Or was he really making time because of how scared of you he was?
In any case, many had been the drinks his blood got injected with. But none of it made his cheeks blushed. And it wasn’t until his friends decided to finally talk to your group of friends that he could face you.
Imponent him, stood in front of you. He was a pretty tall man, and not only that but with a lean but wide frame. The ambience, with low lights, made his countenance look a little darker, maybe even, a little bit more perverted than usual.
But you weren’t scared for it. In fact, you were lost in how good he looked under the shadow of his straw hat.
His friends, other Shinigami from different squad saluted you and your group. And him, did the same… except that the moment he had to talk to you he simply went blank.
“Hey, hi!” you waved at him. Why would Kyoraku Shunsui, such a social man, stutter when it comes to you? You had no idea, but what you had was indeed your stomach full of butterflies.
“Hi…” he answered back, opening his eyes wide, when you, out of the sudden, took and shook his -compared to yours- big hand.
Music started playing, and soon everybody began to dance. It was a matter of seconds in which every Shinigami had found a person to dance with. As you were still holding his hand, both looked first down and then up into each other’s eyes.
And, as if destiny was again doing its work, the slowest -most romantic- song began to play.
“Should we- dance? Or do you need me to buy you a drink? Do you prefer sitting down?” Shunsui asks, this time completely lost in your eyes as you were in his.
You smiled so sweetly and nodded. “I would love to dance…”
His other hand landed on the side of your waist, while the other lifted your arm up to the side. Like a prince, he started leading you. Like a princess, you moved along with him.
Two souls that for some reason were bound to meet, dancing in the middle of so many people that disappeared for you two.
“What’s your name?” Shunsui asked, nervously while dancing so naturally.
“I’m (Name)… You are Kyoraku Shunsui… right? Are you Yamamoto’s son?” you inquired, even if you knew it all. You had been looking him from afar since your eyes crossed sight for the first time.
It was so hard for him to maintain his eyes fixed into yours, but at the same time there wasn’t anything he wanted to do more than that… “I am… Yama-ji is like my dad, yes” he stuttering answered back.
“You are really cool, you will surely become a captain in no time” you told him, feeling his reaction to your words as he squeezed your hand slightly. He took a big gasp of air, letting it all out with a sigh. A twirl on the dance floor, and the magic of your smile made his tongue finally lose. This time, no alcohol, nor even his womanizer personality, but his blushed cheeks….
“Would you like to get out of here and have dinner with me, (Name)? I know you are too pretty for me, but…” he murmured, feeling the heat on his cheeks rising up all the way to his ears.
You too felt like you were absolutely burning, but you played it cool… even if you were jumping and screaming inside… you stood on tippy toes, reaching for that pink tinted cheek to plan the most innocent kiss over it...
“I would be pleased to accompany you on a dinner date, Kyroaku-san”  💖

fanfiction
When Sasuke stomped back into their small camp, dragging along a felled tree -that he probably shouldn’t have been physically able to move- to add to the ever-growing pile of sticks, kindling, and logs Kakashi looked up at him and smiled behind his mask.
“Sasuke,” Kakashi said softly as the boy’s dark eyes snapped onto him with clear rage burning in his irises. “I think that’s enough wood for the fire.” He waved his hand at the pile Sasuke had been stocking angrily sinceNaruto went after an obviously injured Sakura. He paused his glowering at his sensei long enough to note that the pile of wood nearly reached to his chest, and had he been in a different headspace, he might even have smirked at it.
But he wasn't in a different headspace, and being a boy who needed to do something while he waited impatiently for the teammate he maybe kind of didn’t but probably did have a crush on he simply drug the tree a few steps closer to his ridiculously large pile. At that moment, when he was formulating a snide remark to make to Kakashi, Sakura and Naruto walked back into camp.
“About damn time,” he grumbled at them, dropping the tree and crossing his arms. His dark eyes glared at his teammates, and then at his teacher, and then down at the fire Kakashi had made with the first bits of kindling Sasuke had brought back.
“Welcome you two,” Kakashi said supportively. “You’re just in time, the meal is ready.” His eye crinkled in a smile as he passed a crispy fish stick to each of his students.
Sakura was no longer crying, which Kakashi was immensely grateful for, and Sasuke was utterly confused about. When the blond boy grinned at the fish offered to him and plopped unceremoniously onto the ground to start stuffing his face, Sakura tentatively took hers and gingerly sat down on the ground closest to Naruto. It was probably the closest anyone had ever seen Sakura sit to Naruto, which Kakashi instantly noted wasn’t in the same manner that she normally reserved for Sasuke, but Sasuke didn’t seem to realize that if the murderous glares he kept flashing Naruto’s way were anything to go by.
Sasuke noticed, between irritated bites of fish and glaring at the blond, that Sakura had changed into one of her other qipao dresses, which made his eyes narrow with uncertainty of her illness. Her eyes were downcast and puffy, nose sniffly as she weakly nibbled the food. Naruto happily munched away and chattered kindly to Kakashi about his father wanting him to visit sometime. He was either unabashedly ignoring the homicidal energy rolling off of Sasuke or he was totally clueless of its existence. If Kakashi had to guess, it would have been the later. The team leader watched his students coexist, and had to remind himself a few times not to crack a smile or chuckle at the social dynamics at play.
When it was time to finally settle down to rest, and the group were laying out their sleeping bags, Kakashi’s brow rose when Sasuke shifted the position of his sleeping bag so that his head, rather than his feet, would be positioned towards Sakura’s head. The boy glared around the clearing and Kakashi had managed to not give away that he obviously saw the adjustment. Sakura was finally interacting with them again, though in a subdued and exhausted manner. Kakashi took the first watch, with Sasuke, Naruto, then Sakura following through until morning.
Kakashi, who was really not worried about any interruption in their mission -it was a D-rank mission that just happened to take them barely outside of the borders of Konoha- read his book as his hours passed mostly uneventfully. The only potential issue was the soft cries that came out of Sakura’s sleeping bag, but before he had a chance to investigate, he heard Sasuke quietly wake her.
“Sakura,” he said gently, groggy with only two hours of sleep. He laid on his belly to look at her and poked at her head. “Hey,” he yawned and prodded her carefully again.
“Sasuke-kun?” glassy green eyes looked up to him, before readjusting her position to face him.
“You were whimpering.” He whispered, rubbing at his eyes.
This was Sakura’s favorite part of missions. Seeing her teammates in their in between states, the moments teetering between complete vulnerability and complete control. The way that Sasuke yawned again made her heart flutter.
“I-I’m sorry, I didn’t realize I was doing that,” she turned as pink as her hair. “Thank you for letting me know. I’ll stop.” She moved to nestle back into her bag, but he carefully tugged on a piece of her hair.
“I wasn’t saying so to make you feel bad.” He said it evenly, black eyes growing more focused as he woke up. “I wanted to ask if you are alright.”
Her heart lunged into the back of her throat, and briefly she wondered if she was still sleeping. “I-I…” he looked at her intensely, like nothing else mattered except that she was in fact, alright. “I’m in pain.” She decided to be honest with him.
“Oh.”
“But I’m alright, Naruto’s mother packed an emergency kit for me in case this happened.”
Sasuke’s brows pinched together, in irritation at the way she said Naruto’s name, like he was some dependable someone to her now, before he folded into confusion. “Why would she expect this to happen?”
Sakura’s mouth fell into an oh shape. “Um,” she tried to think back to that extremely awkward day at the Academy and couldn’t remember if Sasuke had been there that day. “It’s a, uh, girl thing?” she offered weakly. And when his black brows stayed poised in confusion, clearly waiting for her to further clarify what was a girl’s thing, she simply said:  “Maybe you’ll just want to ask your mom about it when you get home.”
Sasuke scowled. “I’m not sure why I would talk to my mother about you being ill.”
The girl had to stop herself from laughing at the petulant way he was looking at her. “I think she’ll maybe clear things up for you more than I can.” She offered.
“But-”
“Oh, good Sasuke, you’re already awake.” Kakashi stepped closer to his genin, effectively ending the conversation on Sakura’s behalf. “It’s your turn to take watch.”
The boy sighed, seemingly resigning himself to not get an answer from anyone on his team about Sakura’s condition. And muttering about it as such, he stalked away to take his turn on watch.
“You okay Sakura-chan?” Kakashi asked gently, patting her head with a warm hand. She nodded, strangely comforted by the enigma that was her teacher, before his eye crinkled at her and she felt herself drifting off to sleep.

Some time has passed since we returned after filming overseas for exe Creed’s new MV.
(Oof… that’s all the things I have to buy. I need to hurry back to the company.)
Everything that happened in Macau felt like a dream, and I was back to being busy juggling my work at the advertising company and the condominium.
(But compared to everyone in exe Creed…)
exe Creed was currently preparing for an upcoming music event, so they’ve been much busier than usual.
It was a large-scale outdoor festival where famous international artistes were participating.
(It’s hard work with practice sessions ending early in the morning or late at night…)
(On top of that, Xeno-san works on various production tasks in his room afterwards. I wonder when he sleeps?)
… While thinking about that, I casually glanced at the other side of the road.
(Hm? Is that… Xeno-san!?)
Xeno: … [poker face]
(No way! He’s supposed to be working right now, why is he somewhere like this? Walking around so unreservedly too.)
(I’m curious… let me go say hi to him. Without attracting too much attention…)
I quietly walked closer towards Xeno-san and he looked shocked when he noticed me.
Xeno: ! Why are you here?
Rina: I’m buying some things for work. Rather, I should be the one asking you that.
Rina: I didn’t think I’d run into Xe— you at a place like this.
(That was close. I can't mention his name or there’ll be trouble if people around us notice.)
Xeno: Being nervous will only make you look more suspicious.
Xeno: I’m already in disguise. No one will notice as long as I move around unashamedly.
Rina: Is that so?
I took a peek at my surroundings.
(It does seem like no one has noticed Xeno-san’s presence.)
He’s someone with a very strong presence, and yet he’s perfectly blending into the scene around us.
(Is this another one of his techniques as an idol?)
(T-this isn’t the time to be admiring him!)
Rina: What exactly is going on? Don’t have a recording to do today?
Rina: Why are you out here alone? Where are Sakura-san and the others—
Xeno: Stop asking so many questions. … I have a small matter to attend to, so I’m just taking a little bit of time out of my work schedule for it. I’ll get back to work soon.
Rina: Is that so? Um, what sort of thing is it…?
Xeno: Don’t mind it. It’s nothing major.
There was nothing I could say in response to that.
(He definitely lied about it being a small matter.)
It was undoubtedly a big enough deal for someone this busy to take time out of his hectic schedule to come here.
Upon taking a closer look at Xeno-san, I noticed that his complexion didn’t look very good. Surely it was due to insufficient rest.
Lately, he hasn’t been acting as irritable as before we went to Macau…
(Even so, I’m certain that Xeno-san is still holding onto a certain burden.)
I thought back to the email he received previously.
(It said something about an investigation facing extreme difficulty. … Is Xeno-san investigating something?)
(Could the reason why he’s here today have something to do with it?)
Although that was just a hunch, I couldn’t help but constantly get that feeling for some unknown reason.
Xeno: I’m going back to work. You said you were in the middle of buying some things, right? You should hurry along.
(Xeno-san…)
Xeno: Bye.
Rina: Wait.
I reflexively grabbed his arm just as he was about to leave.
Xeno: Kawanaga?
Rina: The truth is that you’re doing something important, isn’t it? I can tell just by looking at you.
Xeno: … [troubled expression]
Rina: I know I may be meddling too much, but… is there anything I can help you with?
Xeno: What? [shocked]
Rina: Do you realise how drained you look right now?
Xeno: Me…?
Rina: Seeing you in this state, I can’t bring myself to leave you in the lurch…
Rina: I’ve said it before. I respect you greatly and think you’re a seriously admirable person.
Rina: This has nothing to do with work or my presentation. I purely want to become a pillar of strength to support you.
Those words came from the heart.
Xeno: Kawanaga…
Xeno-san stared intently at me…
Xeno: … You’re really hopelessly meddlesome.
He muttered in a low voice and gently shook off my grip.
Rina: Ah…
Xeno: I have nothing to say to you. … Hurry up and go back to your own work.
(Xeno-san…)
He averted his eyes from me. His tone was firm with a tone of rejection.
(Meddlesome… huh. I knew he’d say that.)
He had made that comment about me multiple times before, but it felt more hurtful this time.
Rina: … I’m sorry. I overstepped your boundaries.
Xeno: … [troubled expression]
(As I thought, I still can’t become a pillar of support for him…)
Rina: Sorry for stopping you. … I’ll get going.
Xeno: Yeah.
My shoulders slumped and I was just about to leave, when—
*Car Honk*
The ear-piercing sound of a car horn echoed through the street.
Rina: !?
I looked up to see a car coming at a high speed.
Rina: …!
My mind went blank.
The car didn’t slow down, it sped in the direction of Xeno-san and I.
I knew I had to dodge, and yet my body refused to move.
Xeno: Kawanaga!
*Tires Screeching*
(I’ll get hit!)
… The instant that thought flashed through my mind, Xeno-san roughly grabbed and pulled me.
*Thud.*
Xeno: ! [ouch expression]
I fell to the ground, but I felt a dull impact in place of pain.
Without slowing down, the car simply sped off…
Passerby 1: What just happened? One wrong step and there would’ve been a huge accident.
Passerby 2: Goodness, that was so dangerous!
I could hear a crowd buzzing around us.
Xeno: Kawanaga… are you hurt?
Rina: Y-yes… I’m okay.
Rina: Oh! I- I’ll get up right away!
I hastily got up when I realised I had fallen on top of him.
Rina: Um, did you get injured!?
Xeno: I’m okay. … Geez, that driver was awfully reckless.
Rina: Thank goodness…! Thank you so much. If it weren’t for you, I would’ve…
Xeno: No, it’s good that you’re safe.
Xeno: …ggh!? [ouch expression]
Xeno-san’s face twisted when he tried to stand.
Rina: A-are you okay? Don’t tell me you’re really injured…
Xeno: It’s fine.
Rina: But…!
Xeno: Not so loud. You’ll stir trouble.
He whispered and I took a look around us. The incident indeed attracted the attention of many people.
Xeno: Don’t bother about it. I’ll get going, and you should go back too. Got it?
Xeno-san turned his back and left.
(I wonder if he’s alright…)
I wanted to go after him, but he disappeared into the crowd in the blink of an eye.
… The shock from nearly being hit by a car was so great, my heart was still pounding hard against my chest.
Xeno-san’s look just now lingered in my mind.
(… He looked unusual. Did he really not get hurt?)
(What do I do if… something happened to Xeno-san all because he protected me?)
…
After working overtime, I rushed back to the condominium.
Hugh: Oh, Housekeeper-san…
Ivy: Welcome back, Kawanaga-san.
Rina: I’m back.
Jace: You’re back late. Did overtime again?
Finn: Got ordered around by others as usual, huh.
Everyone was relaxed, seemingly having just finished their practice.
Rina: Um, where’s Xeno-san…?
Ivy: Xeno’s still at the training room.
Hugh: He’s… practicing his dance.
Finn: He said that he still isn’t satisfied with his part.
Jace: He’s as serious as ever~
(It was a common thing for Xeno-san to be cooped up in the training room alone, but…)
Rina: Did anything seem off about Xeno-san during practice today?
Ivy: Xeno? … Nope, I can’t think of anything in particular.
Rina: Really? For instance, did he look like he was in pain or anything?
Hugh: He’s dance was… as usual.
Finn: He still had that same old poker face.
Jace: Why do you ask?
Rina: It’s nothing, I’m just a little concerned.
(Since everyone said so, I guess he should be fine? But he looked like he was in pain for a moment just now…)
My heart didn’t stop worrying.
(Xeno-san…)
Jace: … You care that much about that guy?
Jace-san cast me a meaningful look.
Jace: Don’t tell me, something happened between you two while you were together?
Finn: Serious? That guy’s surprisingly fast to make a move.
Rina: N-nothing of the sort!
Jace: But you’re unusually concerned about him. Or could it be that you have one-sided feelings for him, Aegis-chan?
Rina: I said that’s not the case!
Ivy: Oh for goodness’s sake. With the amount of time Kawanaga-san interacts with Xeno, it’s not strange that she’d care about him.
Ivy-san scolded the two and smiled apologetically.
Ivy: Sorry. These guys were just joking, don’t take it to heart.
Ivy: You’re cleaning today too, right? Your wound just healed, so take it easy.
Rina: Thank you, Ivy-san…
I thanked Ivy-san while at the same time retreating from the uncomfortable situation in the living room.
(Why did they say that? Do I look that concerned about Xeno-san…?)
After I was done cleaning, Xeno-san was still practising.
(I wonder if he’s okay…)
I went to the training room to check on him.
Rina: Pardon me.
Xeno-san was alone in the room, focused on practising his dance.
Rina: Xeno-san.
Xeno: …
(He’s not ignoring me… rather, he didn’t hear me.)
Xeno: …
(His concentration is at its highest. On top of that, the dance choreography is hard too…)
Xeno-san’s most outstanding talent was his overwhelmingly powerful vocals, but his dancing was incomparable to that of a typical idol.
Even I could see that as an ordinary person.
(His every move gave off the impression that they were flawless. However…)
Xeno: …
(Is it just me? Or does his dancing right now look different from usual?)
He wore his usual emotionless face, but he looked like he was desperate to dance.
(He seems to be trying to shake something off…)
Just then…
Xeno: …ggh.
Xeno-san furrowed his brows slightly for a split second and his pivot foot shook, breaking his stance.
Xeno: Guh!
The way he could hardly balance and the frown on his face was enough to ascertain that he wasn’t in a good condition.
Rina: Xeno-san!
Xeno: !? Kawanaga, when did you…!
I ran over to have a look, and he was shocked as he didn’t notice me before that.
Rina: So you ARE injured!?
Xeno: Nothing worth making a fuss about. … It’s only a slight sprain.
Rina: It certainly does NOT seem that way!
(This time it’s only practice, but for Xeno-san’s stance to falter like that…!)
He looks normal now, but his facial expression for a moment just now told me that he was in immense pain.
I was sure he only showed that expression because he didn’t realise I was in the room.
(It must be so painful, and yet he’s doing such vigorous dance choreography…)
Rina: Xeno-san… you can’t do that choreography with an injured leg. You should get it treated and discuss this with the members.
Xeno: I refuse.
Rina: But…!
Xeno: I don’t have time for that. The music festival is already right before our eyes, there’s barely enough time for practice as is.
Rina: What if it gets worse?
Xeno: I’ll go on with the performance either way, as I should.
Xeno: exe Creed will be the key performers of the main stage. It’s our responsibility as professionals to make this event a success.
Xeno: I can’t make a big deal out of this and drag the members down… I’ll follow through with this perfectly.
Regardless of what I said, Xeno-san remained stubborn.
(What should I do? He’s not listening to anything I say, but I don’t want to rely on the other members either.)
(And yet I know very well that I can’t just leave him be…!)

Back to Liyue For Answers
Venti's POV
I made it back to Mondstadt. When I got there I saw many of the knights running around and out of the city. I saw Jean and ran up to her.
"Jean, whats going on?" I asked. Jean told me that the Creator was here at that she ran off. I told her about the feeling I had in Liyue yesterday. Turning around,I made started going back to Liyue.
Creator! POV
I walk out of Liyue Harbor. Planning to return to where I woke up,wanting to know how I got here in the first place. After walking for a time I got back to where this all started. There were thinks I didn't notice before, there were shards of Cor Lapis,Amethyst,Crystal ore,and magic crystal along with petals of a Glaze Lilly,Cecila,Sacred Sakura, and Kalpalata Lotus.
"Why are these here?" I asked myself out loud. I scooped the stuff off the ground and into my pockets. I lacked any other way to carry the stuff. I walked around a little more and found nothing else. Giving up I made my way back to Liyue and was greeted by Ganyu.
"Your grace, the Tianquan requests to see you,"
I blink in surprise and ask why she said that.
"Tianquan Ningguang was informed and told us all to call you that, " She said.
I asked who told her and Ganyu said that Zhongli had told Ningguang about me. I start to panic and back away but a crowd of Liyue citizens put a quick end to that.
"Warit! Maybe Ningguang will know about the stuff I found!" I say to myself. I let Ganyu lead me to the person the player has to see in order to get into the Jade Chamber. I ask about bringing a gift and I notice Ganyu look confused.
"You do not need to bring a gift your grace, your presence is more than enough," she says.
Ganyu uses her Jade Chamber entrance code and one ride later,we are at the Jade Chamber. There is no turning back now. We both walk inside and I follow Ganyu's lead in greeting Ningguang. She tells me I don't need to do that. I tell that I didn’t want her to think I was being rude. We talk and I then tell her about the stuff I found. She asks to see it and I show her the stuff.
'This is interesting,I will have to look into it. I'll send a messenger to you if I learn anything, but for that I'll need your name," she says. I tell ger my name along with.
"Oh my god! Thank you! Thank you! You're the best Ningguang!"
I leave and get back to Liyue Harbor and back to Xiangling. But,when I went looking for her I ran into Zhongli. I greet him and ask if he's seen Xiangling. He asks why I’m looking for her and I explain me basically crashing at her place. He offers to let me stay with him and being tired, cause it took me a little bit to get back to the starting point, said yes. We walk and talk before reaching Zhongli's place. He helps me find a place to sleep before I pass out.
Narrator's POV
Unknow to the Creator,Zhongli began petting their head. He felt proud to finally meet the one who made him and the others. But,he was worried when he learned about what happened yesterday in Mondstadt. You had gotten hurt, when Venti was meant to look after you till all the preparations were finished. He looked at your hand and the bandage on it. Part of him feels bad for the part he played in you being here but another part of him says it's okay, you'll be happier here, with those who will do anything for you

Big Little Things
“Tadaima.”
The familiar word that holds so much weight. Not said enough in his life, but when he is given the chance to say it, it is like a prayer. One he wishes to repeat over and over again for as long as this world will allow him.
Sasuke has risked his life before, a few times. He is aware of the limitations his human body can take. He also knows the risks of the ninja lifestyle. With all this knowledge he revels in the moments he gets with his home.
Home had never been a specific place, rather the people that provided the feeling behind the word. At one point that had been his father, mother and dear older brother. Now the warm feeling of home belongs to his wife and daughter.
From the moment he walks through the threshold from outside to inside, the atmosphere changes.
When Sakura and he had been on their journey over a decade ago, that threshold changed daily from inn rooms, to caves, to sleeping under the stars, with the moon serving as their guide.
Each time they would settle into a space the air would buzz differently. It starts as calm, and shifts into a warmth that spreads throughout his travel weary body. The capacity to feel safe, secure, and loved has that effect on a person. Much like waves washing onto warm sand, being with his family washes peace over his psyche.
—-
“Okaeri!” He hears his wife and daughter shout out separately rushing over to the front door of their shared apartment.
Sasuke unbuttons his dark cloak and begins shedding it, Sakura reaching for it instinctively. He hands it to her and dons his house slippers. No matter how long he is away or if he shows up unannounced, they are always sitting by the door with the rest of his family’s, waiting for him.
“I’m making dinner, any special requests?” Sakura asks, tying her apron around her hips.
“Papa, can you help me with shuriken after my mission tomorrow?” Sarada pleads with eager eyes.
“Anything, and of course.” Both the women in his life provide him with a smile so unique and familiar to each of their features. Sarada studies what looks like a new mission summons quietly beside him on the couch as he reads over a scroll. Sakura is heard shifting around the kitchen, the searing sound of vegetables and meat being cooked on the stovetop is grounding. The familiar smell of spices and foods he enjoys are being made in the kitchen only feet away.
Once dinner is plated, served and thanked for, Sakura walks over to her seat across from him. On the way from the kitchen to her chair she passes his form touching his shoulder softly, lingering her slender hand briefly. Glances and touches between them always had a hidden meaning. I missed you.
Once his wife is seated across from him and Sarada has started talking about her day, and Sakura providing information of her own he sends his wife a warm glance, I missed you too. Sakura blushes prettily, their daughter failing to notice, too busy eating her meal.
“Thanks Mama, it was really tasty!” Sarada excuses herself from the table and cleans her dishes in the sink.
Sasuke and Sakura remain at the table.
“I’ll wash the dishes.” He offers. He enjoys the task. It makes him feel like he is part of the everyday routine, even if he is not able to be here everyday.
“Oh! Then I’ll dry.” Sakura brings over the bulk of the dishes, Sasuke getting to work filling the sink with soap and water.
They stand close together in a comfortable quiet. He can feel the warmth radiating off of her body with her this near. The sounds of dishes being soaked and water running over porcelain fills the kitchen.
“Sarada was right. Dinner was good.”
“Really? I have to go to the market tomorrow and get some fresh tomatoes. They are finally in season!”
“If you leave a list of what you need I can shop tomorrow.”
“Actually I have tomorrow off. Would you like to go together?”
Sasuke nods, handing her a wet dish. He observes her hands, cracked and scarred from countless surgeries, battles won and lost and what feels like a lifetime of healing. Sakura’s hands were one of the symbols of her hard work and resolve.
He hands her the final dish, and rinses the sink of suds.
“Go lie down. I’m going to finish tidying then I’ll prepare a bath.” Sakura says while removing her apron.
While Sakura tidies and folds laundry Sasuke chooses to check on their daughter. He knocks on her bedroom door. The door opens and reveals a well lived room. Far different than his own room at twelve years old, filled with pictures of her friends as well as pictures of the three of them. A part of him aches at the sight of most of the pictures from Sarada’s childhood with just Sakura beside her. He wishes he could have watched her grow during those formative years. The realistic part of him is thankful that it was Sakura beside her and that she has a beacon of light and strength like Sakura as her mother.
Sarada looks at him within her doorway, then walks back over to her bed with laid out clothes, scrolls, and weapons.
“Mission tomorrow?”
“Yeah! Do you think this is enough shuriken?” Sasuke enters fully and they discuss mission supplies for a half hour. While talking with his daughter he is able to appreciate her features and mannerisms, so very reminiscent of his mother while also very much Sakura. Sarada provides him a smile, stretches and tells him she needs to rest.
“Good night Sarada.”
“Night Papa.” He turns the light off in her room and shuts the door.
Sasuke walks down the hall to his shared bedroom with Sakura, the sound of a bath running can be heard from behind the closed bathroom door. Sakura emerges from the bathroom after the faucet is turned off.
“You take a bath first Anata.”
No matter how many times his wife calls him Anata, it still sends the same pang to his heart. He takes solace in the familiarity between Sakura and himself.
“Join me?” Her face colors slightly and a smirk grows on his own. They shed their clothes and sit in the bath together. Sakura sits behind him, she knows he has a hard time washing his back by himself on the road. She has done this since they first became intimate all those years ago.
Her masterful touch is gentle but firm as she washes along his spine, her healing touch mending sore muscles and small scratches collected on his travels.
His head falls forward, the ends of his fringe touching the surface of the water, and his eyes shut, relishing in the feeling.
Without saying anything she provides a light massage on his left shoulder, a historically tender area for him since the loss of his arm.
Once she is done they switch positions so she can sit between his legs. Her pink locks tied up into a small ponytail. He wraps his arm around her center soaking in the warmth she provides him emotionally and physically.
Thank you is whispered into her shoulder and a light kiss pressed.
Sleep has never come easy to him, not since he was a child still under his parents roof. Sleep had been a battleground since the loss of his family, his clan, his brother, and for a time himself.
But with Sakura beside him, her hand resting above his heart and a leg tossed over one of his thighs, sleep comes to him effortlessly.
He still wakes often in the night no matter where he is, but with Sakura by his side he is able to fall back asleep without too much resistance. If there is a challenge he watches the rise and fall of her chest, the way her hair splays on the pillow, or counts the light freckles on her shoulders until his lids become too heavy to keep open.
In the early morning he feels her stirring and they indulge in each other’s bodies. A familiar dance and one he never tires of. They have to remain quiet with their daughter asleep down the hall.
Sated and breath regulating the couple revel in the other's bodies, she feels along the hard planes of his abdomen and the veins in his arm.
His eyes shut letting her touch him, secretly enjoying the way she takes inventory on his body whenever he comes home.
“You’re cute when you’re satiated.”
He makes a face from her brazen compliment. Feeling her giggle beside him, he pinches her thigh that is within reach.
“I thought you had said once that I was always cute?”
“You are! But especially in these moments!” She continues to giggle lightly, running her fingers through his thick dark locks, and massaging his scalp.
Sarada is heard down the hall preparing for her mission. The couple wake properly and get ready for their day together.
Sarada says her goodbyes and the pair head out to the market. They separate to get different items at separate stalls. Sasuke picks out the vegetables, taking extra time at the tomato stand. When they meet up again Sakura has gathered the meat and a bouquet of flowers.
“I would’ve had these yesterday but you surprised us!”
He can’t recall the first time she had gotten him flowers after coming home from a mission but every time since then there are always flowers waiting on the kitchen table for him. He enjoys the feeling of being loved, of coming home to a family who knows and loves him for who he is.
He revels in the small things that feel larger to him than to any normal person. The feeling of having people know you inside and out. Know your likes and dislikes. Know your heart and trust in your abilities.
Sasuke and Sakura walk home, bags in hand through the Konoha streets. Sakura talks about this and that and he watches and listens to her, a light smile adorning his face. His home had never been a place but rather the feeling of giving and receiving love from his most important people.

So I have this cute fluff story for cardcaptor sakura
One night, Sakura is having a bad dream where she feels like she's all alone when she comes across the ghost of her mother Nadeshiko Kinomoto. Sakura tells her mother that she scared that everyone is going to leave her forever but Nadeshiko Kinomoto tells her that everyone around her loves her and that no matter what she will never be alone
When sakura wakes up she thought it was a dream but when she goes back to sleep her mother's ghost gently kisses her on the forehead telling her sweet dreams my little sakura
Like that?
AWWW THIS IS SO SWEET YES YES I’LL DEFINITELY DO THIS!! I’LL TRY MY BEST!! :3
Disclaimer: Angst to comfort
Kinda rushed….
——————————————————————
After her shower, Sakura trudged into her room, her damp hair clinging to her neck as she glanced at Kero, still glued to his video game, surrounded by a pile of snack wrappers. Normally, she’d scold him about the mess, but tonight, she didn’t have the energy. The weight in her chest was too heavy to bear.
“Kero… clean up, will you?” she mumbled, her voice barely rising above a whisper. She threw herself onto the bed, not bothering with the blanket or even turning off the light. The familiar warmth of her room didn’t bring the usual comfort tonight.
She stared at the ceiling, her thoughts racing. The school year was almost over. Soon, everyone would be moving on. Syaoran, Tomoyo, Meiling — they all had their futures laid out ahead of them, and she worried they'd drift away. The thought of losing the close bonds she'd built with them made her heart ache. *What if everyone grows up and forgets about me?* she thought, her chest tightening.
The future felt terrifying. Everyone was changing so fast, and she wasn’t sure she could keep up. What if she got left behind, stuck in one place while everyone else moved forward? A lump formed in her throat as she blinked back tears. The world felt too big, too uncertain, and the thought of losing her friends was unbearable.
Sakura’s eyes slowly closed, exhaustion taking over, but her heart was still heavy with fear. She fell into a restless sleep, unaware that Kero had quietly turned off the light and pulled the blanket over her. "Sakura..." he muttered softly, worry in his voice.
In her dream, Sakura found herself wandering through an empty street in Tomoeda. It was quiet — too quiet. The usual laughter and voices of her friends were missing, and the streets felt cold. The shops were closed, the trees bare, and the world around her seemed hollow, almost lifeless.
“Hello?” she called out, her voice echoing in the stillness. She waited for a response, but none came. Her footsteps echoed as she walked, each step amplifying the loneliness growing in her chest. She passed by familiar places — the school, the park, her favorite cafe — but they all felt distant, like they were fading from her life.
She kept walking, hoping to see someone, anyone, but there was only emptiness. Tears stung her eyes as her fears began to overwhelm her. *Is this what the future looks like?* she wondered. *Will I be all alone, watching everyone move on without me?*
Sakura’s legs started to tremble as the ache in her heart grew stronger. The sense of abandonment clawed at her, making her feel smaller and more helpless with each passing second. She wanted to scream, but her voice was stuck, caught in the knot of fear tightening inside her.
Suddenly, a soft, glowing light appeared ahead of her, cutting through the darkness. Sakura blinked in surprise, her heart racing as she cautiously moved toward it. As she got closer, the light began to take shape — a figure, tall and graceful, stepping out of the brightness. And then, Sakura recognized her.
It was her mother.
“M-Mom?” Sakura’s voice cracked, her hands flying to her mouth as tears immediately filled her eyes. Without thinking, she ran toward her, the overwhelming relief crashing over her like a wave. She threw her arms around her mother’s waist, clutching onto her tightly, as if afraid she might disappear.
The transparent woman smiled softly, wrapping her arms around her daughter in return. Warm, is what Sakura felt, she wasn’t cold like a ghost…it felt real. “My sweet Sakura,” she whispered, her voice full of love and warmth. “You don’t need to be afraid.”
Sakura pressed her face into her mother’s shoulder, sobbing as all the fear and anxiety she’d been holding inside spilled out. “Mom, I… I’m so scared. The school year is ending, and… what if everyone forgets about me? What if they all grow up and leave me behind? I don’t want to lose them.”
Nadeshiko gently stroked her daughter’s hair, her touch soothing. “Sakura, my dear, growing up doesn’t mean growing apart. The people who truly love you will always be with you, no matter where life takes them. Your friends, your family — they love you more than you know.”
Sakura lifted her head slightly, looking up at her mother through tear-filled eyes. “But what if… what if I can’t keep up? What if I’m not strong enough?”
Her mother knelt down in front of her, wiping away the tears on Sakura’s cheeks with a soft smile. “You don’t have to do everything on your own, Sakura. True strength isn’t about facing things alone. You have people who care about you, people who will stand by your side. You don’t need to carry this burden by yourself.”
Sakura’s heart swelled as her mother’s words wrapped around her like a warm blanket. The fear that had been suffocating her started to loosen its grip. “I miss you so much, Mom,” she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion.
“I know, my little Sakura,” Nadeshiko said softly, brushing a strand of hair away from Sakura’s face. “But I’m always with you. No matter where you go or what changes, I’ll always be in your heart, just like your friends will be.”
Sakura hugged her mother again, holding her tightly, not wanting to let go. She felt the warmth of her mother’s love surrounding her, a love that gave her strength and comfort.
When Sakura woke up, the first light of morning was just beginning to filter through her window. She lay still for a moment, her heart full and her body warm beneath the blanket Kero had pulled over her.
She smiled softly to herself, knowing deep down that her mother’s words were true. No matter what happened, no matter how much things changed, she wouldn’t be alone. Her friends, her family — they were part of her, and she’d always carry them with her, just as they carried her.
As she closed her eyes for a moment longer, she felt the lingering warmth of her mother’s presence and heard her gentle voice once again. “Sweet dreams, Sakura.”
YAYY I HOPE YOU LIKED IT, BESTO FRIENDO

{In celebration of my own birthday here is a Modern AU SasuSaku piece about Sakura's Birthday!} A smug grin stretched across Naruto's face as he swiveled his desk chair to face Sasuke, who stood at the door. "So you've finally come to me, huh?" he taunted, his amusement evident.
"Don't make me regret it," Sasuke replied, crossing his arms and leaning against the doorframe. "I just want to do something special for her birthday. Nothing ordinary."
"I wasn't going to suggest anything ordinary," Naruto said, placing a finger on his chin and tapping it thoughtfully. "I've got it!" he exclaimed, pointing his finger towards the ceiling. He paused for a moment, building suspense.
Sasuke gestured for him to continue. "Go on," he urged.
With a flair for the dramatic, Naruto rolled back in his chair. "Imagine this," he began. "At midnight, you show up at her apartment. We'll get Ino in on it too, so she can lure Sakura outside. And then, boom! There you are, cake in hand, a sparkler as the candle. And I'll light a firework. Sounds like a great plan, right?" Naruto glanced at Sasuke expectantly. "Are you blown away by my genius?"
Sasuke pushed himself off the doorframe and walked back to his own room without a word, leaving Naruto momentarily confused and disheartened. "Hey! If you don't like the idea, just tell me!" Naruto called out, hoping to reach Sasuke. "I can use it for Hinata, you know! And punk, you could at least close the door!"
Days Later:
Sasuke's last-second worries about the police being called loomed in his mind, causing him to mutter, "Can't believe we're doing this." As a few people passed by them on the sidewalks, their attention fixated mainly on Naruto, who stood holding a birthday cake adorned with two sparklers. Naruto's gaze darted back and forth between the dazzling fireworks and Sasuke, as he confidently replied, "Oh, you better believe it. Ino texted and said they'll be outside now. I'm gonna light the firework once they open the door." He handed the cake to Sasuke.
With determination, Naruto walked towards the sidewalk where the firework was set up and instructed Sasuke, "Sasuke! Step closer to the door!" Following Naruto's command, Sasuke took a few steps closer to the apartment building.
As Ino swung the door open, Sakura emerged, her appearance indicating that she had been roused from sleep for this surprise celebration. Her hair was tied back, and she wore her pajamas, but her face displayed a mixture of amusement and confusion that brought a smile to Sasuke's lips. Stepping closer to him, Sakura inquired, "What's all this?" Ino lingered near the door, leaning on it while beaming at the heartfelt gesture.
"Happy birthday, Sakura," Sasuke said, his voice filled with warmth. At that very moment, the sound of a whistle pierced the air as Naruto ignited the fireworks, launching them into the sky, painting it with a grand display of colors.
Sakura burst into laughter, her gaze fixated on the mesmerizing spectacle above. "All of this for me?" she exclaimed, a hint of disbelief in her voice.
Sasuke nodded, sheepishly admitting, "Yeah, I just wanted to do something special for your birthday." Although not one to shy away from many things, Sasuke felt a twinge of shyness when it came to Sakura.
"You're too sweet. Thank you," Sakura replied, her voice filled with genuine gratitude.
"Blow out the candle," Sasuke urged, offering her the cake with a warm smile.
Sakura leaned in and extinguished the flames, prompting Ino to clap excitedly in the background. As they all joined in singing "Happy Birthday" aloud, Sakura took hold of the cake and surprised Sasuke with a gentle kiss on his cheek.
Whispering softly to him, she asked, "Are you staying over or...?" Sakura fluttered her eyes, gazing up at him, her expression teasing.
Caught off guard, Sasuke gulped, momentarily glancing behind him to find Naruto attempting to discreetly clear away the remnants of the fireworks. Gathering his courage, he replied, "Well, I don't know—"
"On my birthday?" Sakura interjected, her voice soft and playful, accompanied by a mischievous grin.
Sasuke's collar suddenly felt tight as he stammered, "Well, it's your birthday, and I'm sure Naruto would understand." He spoke rapidly, his words expressing his obvious nervousness, yet his eyes reflected his genuine affection for her. She giggled, "Thank you for everything," Sakura said, her voice filled with affection. "This has been the best birthday surprise ever."
"Good thing I brought all these extra fireworks," Naruto exclaimed from the sidewalk, his enthusiasm undeterred. He began lighting them up in succession, one after another, as the colorful explosions filled the night sky. However, amidst the awe-inspiring display, an unintended consequence followed—a nearby car alarm suddenly blared, interrupting the festivities.
"Shit!" Naruto exclaimed, his face contorting in frustration at the unforeseen turn of events.
"Naruto!" Ino's voice rang out urgently from the doorway, the sound of approaching police sirens growing louder in the background. "Everyone, get inside!"
Sakura's smile remained wide as she gazed at Sasuke, raising her eyebrows playfully. "Better not get me arrested on my birthday either," she teased, a hint of mischief dancing in her eyes.

for: @julianrchandlerx location: park
Sandwiched between the subtle fragrances of the Sakura trees that bloomed over head, and the rich, dark earth underfoot, it wasn't lost on Ken that this was shaping up to being a pattern. A scene not so dissimilar to this occurred last year around the same time too, only thing that struck different was swap of alcohol to cigarettes, both were destructive so really, did it matter which poison he chose? Thoughts that plagued him too, an echo of those of the past; birth, death, family -- a trifecta of fuckery. Ken would laugh if he had found this situation funny. Things always hit, he noticed, after the moment's passed, once back into a safe orbit outside the event taking place, gravity eased its grip and allowed for surroundings and feelings to register, as if living in the present took up too much energy everything else was delayed till later. And later, caught up fast.
Ken had forgotten about the day, of course he had, it held of no interest now or ever, a wasted space in his memory (something that he was silently thankful for) but of course it couldn't be cast out, no, that would be too easy. Such things lingered, had to be forcefully remembered despite his best efforts. The day arrived with cake and a bright smile and he mirrored it with a less enthusiastic one but thanked her nonetheless. She had made last year one of the best, and her still being around was enough to fill him with ease. An end goal made it easier to bear -- end of day -- and he made it without heaviness clinging to him. The weight came later, growing in size as the days blended into each other, till it demanded to be felt. He had died yet here he was. That alone took his head for another spin. He didn't die when he ought to have and this... this was borrowed time, a second chance and a curse all in one. Letting out a sharp mirthless huff of a laugh, he paced the treeline, kicking a small stone about to have something extra to do, this life gained after death he hadn't quite yet figured out how to live.
Petals fell onto him softly and he brushed them off with an undeserved quickness, casting them onto the ground only to end up crushed underfoot, and wished he could do the same for his thoughts. Instead he took a drag, letting the smoke fill his lungs before releasing in a cloud about him. Silence was soothing, the stillness only disturbed by breeze and swaying branches, he continued to walk, no particular direction, no real desire to call it a night. Not yet. But maybe he out to have. The night didn't belong to him solely, he knew that, but tonight he had wanted it to, not to share the darkness with anyone when eyes spotted a figure ahead. Head debated turning around but signalled to his feet too late and he was carried forward towards them.
Recognition hit and shoulders relaxed a tiny bit, he watched Julian for a bit as he scribbled away at something, head shaking slowly when he remembered stumbling to Briar in a similar way, and much like then, Ken questioned as a way of greeting and making his presense known, "Aren't you supposed to be..." But he realised sleep was not a requirement any longer for Julian either, "... Hmm. What are you doing?"

Summary: Karin needs some help passing her psych eval.
Tumblr media
“In the last 6 months, how often have you felt restless, agitated, frantic, or tense?”
“All the time!” Karin snapped. “I had no idea what Sasuke’s plan was, I had no idea what that Madara fellow wanted from him, from us, the world was going to shit – what’s the point of all these questions anyway?”
Kakashi sighed, lowering his clipboard. He wished he could be somewhere else. Anywhere else. Being in a meeting with those wizened old crones, Homura and Koharu, sounded more appealing. “It’s important,” he repeated. It felt as if he aged ten years every time he repeated that phrase. It was important. Sakura was right. If there was one thing they had all learned from the Fourth war, it was that shinobi could not simply shrug off their emotional wounds and go about their lives.  This was necessary.
He just wished it could be someone else dealing with Karin.
His shoulders sagged as she continued her tirade about how they were all wasting her time – how she had places to go, people she needed to meet. He was never going to trust Sakura or Shikamaru again. They’d given him an innocuous looking proposal about shinobi mental health to sign, and hadn’t bothered telling him about the all-important clause: that in the event a suitable counselor could not be matched to the shinobi, the Hokage themselves would be required to take on the case.
He sighed again and rolled his shoulders. “Unfortunately,” he said, cutting her off, “if you want your clearance back, you have to pass this evaluation. And you’re going to need to continue attending these sessions until you’re fit to pass.”
With a hiss, she leapt over his desk and landed on him, straddling his lap. Her hands twisted in his ceremonial robes. Kakashi gulped, relieved that he hadn’t sent his ANBU guard off an errand to find him a highly specific stone or some other nonsense today. At least he’d have a witness in case someone walked in to find Karin on top of him like this. “Then just say I’m fit!” she bellowed. “It’s not like you want to be here either. I can feel it. Your chakra’s flickering so much it’s giving me a damn headache.”
“Sakura will never let me hear the end of it if I just let you off,” he replied. It was true, but wasn’t the entire truth. He could have revoked the clause that required him to do this duty. He would have, if Sakura hadn’t fixed him with a look and told him that Karin had no one else in the world who cared. That if she was in danger of hurting herself, there was nobody who could catch the signs. “Well, it doesn’t have to be that bad,” he tried.
“Doesn’t have to be that bad? I have to answer all these questions about my feelings and about my eating and my sleeping and,” she leaned back to wrench the bundle of papers Kakashi had been referring to and shook them in his face, “my sexual activity! I’m not talking about these things to some old pervert like you!”
Kakashi would probably have been more offended if he didn’t have the case notes from all her other previous assigned counselors documenting that she’d called them all perverts too. “Sakura insisted,” he said, scratching the back of his neck.
“Are you the Hokage or not?” she shrieked. “Just tell her I cried about what a shitty childhood I had and I’m all better now. Or order her off your back, send her on a six-month mission or something!”
He wasn’t going to bother explaining to Karin why it was a bad idea to send one of Konoha’s most eminent medics out on a six month-long mission. But it did give him an idea.
“We’ll do it this way,” he said. “Just meet me to train. Once a week. After some time, I’ll tell Sakura that you’re provisionally cleared to resume your duties. Then from there, we’ll give it some more time, and then I’ll clear you fully. That sound good?”
Her eyes narrowed. “Once a week,” she repeated. “And how many of these… sessions do I have to go through before I get even that provisional clearance?”
He shrugged. “Hard to say. It does have to be good enough for me to get Sakura off my back. But if you show up properly and on time, I should be able to get that for you after about four weeks?” Obito would have laughed himself silly watching this scene. At how Kakashi was setting expectations about punctuality after all his years forcing people to wait on him. At how Kakashi was the one trying to make someone confront their emotions. Karin sniffed.
“Fine,” she said. “But you’d better not try anything funny, pervert!”
Kakashi wondered how she possessed the audacity to say that while she was still on his lap. It wasn’t just Obito – Rin, Kushina-sama, and Minato-sensei were surely laughing their heads off too.
It had been two hours, and she hadn’t shown up.
Kakashi shrugged, snapping the 10th anniversary edition of Icha Icha Paradise shut. He’d kept Shikamaru waiting long enough, he supposed. He should probably go discuss that tax proposal with him.
He’d tried. If Karin didn’t show up, that wasn’t his fault.
She has no one else in the world.
He was just assuming that she had chosen not to show up. What if she was injured, or unwell? She’d been put on suspension from her hospital duties too, until she got her clearance. Nobody would be expecting her to show up anywhere. It could be days, weeks, before anyone noticed that something was wrong.
Hatake Sakumo’s corpse had lain cooling in their living room for three days before someone had bothered to come check on them. And that was only because their neighbor had been worried that she hadn’t seen Kakashi out and about.
Karin didn’t even have children. Who would bother to check on her?
With a groan, he dragged himself to go looking for her.
She was lying on her kitchen floor, staring at the ceiling. She was still breathing, and he’d noticed her tensing when he’d begun fiddling with the lock on her window, before she forced herself to relax. She was alive and conscious of what was going on around her. She was fine, and he had gone above and beyond what was required of him. He could go.
But something about that sight – of her lying so still in the dark – made him stop in his tracks.
He’d just go in and get a few words out of her. That would be all. Then he could put in his report that he’d spoken to her and that she’d been unresponsive and he could call it a day. Sakura probably wouldn’t even lambast him too much. She knew well what Karin was like.
“What do you want?” Karin grumbled as he entered.
“You didn’t show up to our meeting,” he replied.
“Yeah, because you wanted to train. It’s not like I’m even a real shinobi,” she scoffed. “What good’s training going to do for me? What, you’re going to teach me to smash trees and the ground? I’m already a medic, right? Might as well make me into Sakura 2.0!”
“That’s not what I –” he began.
“Isn’t it? She’s dating Sasuke, I used to be on Sasuke’s team. She’s a healer, I’m a healer. Sort of. Her hair’s pink, mine’s red. Go on! Tell me how I’m so much like her, only worse!”
Something within Kakashi stilled. “Who said that to you?” he asked quietly.
She sat up, looking at him sharply. “I don’t want your pity,” she snarled. “Get the fuck out of my house. Get out.”
But she made no move to actually get rid of him. “It’s not pity,” he tried. “I’m just worried –”
“Bullshit!” A can of tuna came flying at him. He plucked it out of the air and set it carefully on the ground. She didn’t qualify for much of a stipend, given that her status was equivalent to a genin’s. A genin who didn’t go on missions, at that.
“Karin,” he started, before another can flew out at him. Beans, this time.
“Stop looking at me like that!” she screamed. “Get out, get out, get out!”
A certainty grew within Kakashi, one he disliked. He flung himself on top of her, pinning her wrists to the floor. “It’s no wonder you don’t have any friends, if you treat them all this way,” he said cruelly.
Sure enough, her body relaxed. “I have plenty of friends! More than you, but not like that’s real hard. You just haven’t met them because you’re such a shut-in.”
He somehow kept his sympathy and horror off his face. It would not be well-received. “Prove it.”
“Huh?”
“Prove to me that you can make and keep a friend. Be one to me. If you can fulfill this task to my satisfaction, I’ll give you back your clearance. I’ll overrule anyone who says you aren’t fit for duty.”
Her eyes narrowed, as she sifted through his possible motives. “Why you?” she challenged. “Why not literally anyone else in the village?”
“Because unlike you, I don’t have a built-in lie detector. You should be flattered.” She’d say anything to get out of what she viewed as pity. That was for certain. And unfortunately, any sort of compassion — even of the sort normal humans showed one another — appeared to qualify.
Her entire face scrunched up. Kakashi absently found himself thinking that her expression looked rather like Pakkun, back when he’d still been young and adorable. “You don’t trust me,” she wailed.
“I don’t,” he said, keeping his expression as bland as possible. “Training grounds tomorrow, at 3pm. Don’t be late.” As she opened her mouth, he pressed her lips shut with his thumb and forefinger, trusting that she was no longer going to try to fling something at him. “I’m no healer either,” he said. “I’m not going to bother training you in something I can’t do. But you’re of no use to me in the hospital. I want you out in the field. This way, I kill two birds with one stone.”
She nodded slowly. This was something she could understand, and accept. Overtures of friendship from someone who viewed her as an asset, rather than as a person. It had taken Gai to break through those barriers for him through all those years in ANBU, and afterward.
But Kakashi wasn’t Gai, and Karin wasn’t Kakashi. He couldn’t bulldoze through those walls with a thumbs up and a smile. He could only go along with them, and let her at least get a sense of independence back.
Her shoulders sagged further, and Kakashi started to withdraw, knowing that she would no longer protest.
“You said you wanted me to be a friend to you,” she said slowly. “Are you this touchy with all your friends?”
‘You started it’ was hardly a befitting response for a Hokage. Neither was ‘it was either that or muzzle you so you’d stop talking’. His face heated, and he was thankful for the mask that would conceal the flush that was surely spreading across his face. “...No,” he said finally.
“I knew it!” she shrieked. “Fucking pervert!”
