Even in the rare moments Hazel tries to get to know Hakkai a little better, somehow things backfire.

This comic is based in part by my own experience re-reading Saiyuki after 15-ish years. After such a long time, I still remembered Hakkai's eye was torn out, but I didn't remember who did it, and I thought to myself, "Who would do such a terrible thing to this sweet boy!?"

It was Hakkai. The madlad. The absolute barbarian.
