On the ninth dusk of Sharada comes Mahavidya Dewi Tara, the enlightenment of the universe, the mother of Shiva. Blue is Her hue, gleaming are Her eyes, wielding Ghadga to discriminate falsehood, scissors to cut attachments of the material world, head of asura to retaliate arrogance & lotus to invoke purity of the heart, standing at the meadows looking at everything in Her enlightening eyes. When darkness glooms over, every life gives up hope, but Tara stands to symbolize hope after despair, for She alone had gone through the darkest of times, attainment She has achieved through it. When Lord Shiva became a child, crying in hunger, it was Tara who breastfed Him and enlightened Him on the Truth of the Universe, and She left Him to explore the attributes of the cosmos on His own. Every human is enlightened with the experiences of their life through happiness & sadness, and this is why Tara is neither happy nor sad, for She is absolutely enlightened by the realization on the universe.
