Coyote’s wife has been a Saintsation for 4 years and is currently team captain. She’s also an IG and TikTok influencer with around 800k followers on IG and 1.4 million on TikTok. She taught Mrs. B the thunder choreography, and Rooster loves it.

A/N: This started out as just a fun little drabble after watching a video Tarzan uploaded of him at the Vikings game (that we lost, by the way) and then it just evolved to include even more fluff.

Javy had finally gotten leave to come home during a good time - it was early in football season, the Saints had a home game, and the weather was perfect. He was even excited that he got to bring his girlfriend, Y/N, with him to experience the Superdome first hand.

As they walked in, she started looking around, her jaw dropping at the amount of people packing into the stadium.

“Javy, are these all people from here?” she questioned as they climbed to their seats.

“Yeah, there’s not exactly a whole lot for people to bandwagon on,” he explained, “The Saints aren’t really the best team. When I was a kid, we called them ‘The Aints’ instead.”

“Really?” she giggled.

“Really,” he confirmed.

He guided them towards their section, a hand holding two sandwiches while the other one steered from her lower back. The attendant checking tickets took one look at them and said there had been a problem with a double booking and that because of his Navy status, he was bumped up to seats at the fifty.

With an exchange of thanks, the couple headed for their new seats, deciding to eat on the way so they could focus on the game when they sat down. They found their seats with no further interruptions, enjoying the first half of the game, cheering for the home team wearing black and gold.

Just before halftime, Javy excused himself, kissing her on the head as he passed. She made small talk with the older lady next to her until she was approached by an attendant.

“Ma’am, your seat has been selected for a sideline viewing of the halftime show,” the young woman said.

“Oh, okay. What about my boyfriend?”

“I’ll have someone wait here for him,” the attendant smiled.

She was led to a spot at the fifty yard line where two members of the Saintsations were waiting with bright smiles. The performance started and she was captivated by the movements of the dancers and failed to notice the man moving along the back of the line.

“Okay, come with us,” the dancers told her as they each grabbed an arm, half leading, half tugging her to the center of the field.

The dancers surrounded her and cameras swirled overhead, distracting her for a moment when the women backed up, leaving a smiling man in their wake.

She turned around, her brows furrowing when she recognized the man standing there. “Javy? What’s going on?”

“I called in a few favors,” he shrugged, walking towards her. “You know, you’ve been by my side for over a year now, through deployments and moves and all kinds of other things. You’ve made me realize that the Navy isn’t the only thing in my life worth living for. Baby, I love you,” he said, dropping to one knee, a diamond solitaire surrounded by sapphire and topaz gems in his fingers, “marry me. Be by my side for the rest of my life.”

Tears had started to fall when he started his speech, once she realized what was going on. She nodded her head vigorously, choking back a sob as she exclaimed, “yes! Of course, Javy, yes!”

Every person in the stadium was on their feet, cheering and clapping and stomping their feet as Javy stood and took his new fiancee in his arms, kissing her deeply.

As always, I’d suggest reading the entire article, but here are some parts of the article that stuck out to me:

Across the N.F.L., teams (...) try to place extensive controls on how cheerleaders conduct their lives outside work. This includes limiting their social media activity as well as the people they choose to date and socialize with. (...)

Cheerleaders for the Carolina Panthers (...) must arrive at the stadium on game days at least five hours before kickoff. Body piercings and tattoos must be removed or covered. (...)

Baltimore Ravens cheerleaders were subject to regular weigh-ins and are expected to “maintain ideal body weight,” (...). The Cincinnati Ben-Gals were even more precise in recent years: Cheerleaders had to be within three pounds of their “ideal weight.”

Some cheerleaders must pay hundreds of dollars for their uniforms, yet are paid little more than minimum wage. Cheerleaders must sell raffle tickets and calendars and appear at charity events and golf tournaments, yet they receive none of the proceeds. (...)

Even when they aren’t on duty for their teams, cheerleaders (...) are forbidden from fraternizing with players. They cannot speak with them, seek their autographs or follow them on social media. They must block players who follow them. They are not allowed to post pictures of themselves in uniform. Teams say this rule is to prevent the cheerleaders from attracting stalkers.

For several years, the cheerleaders for the Saints, the Saintsations, had to sell glossy calendars of themselves in bikinis. Before each home game, cheerleaders walked outside the stadium and tried to sell their allotment of 20 calendars to fans, many of whom had been drinking. If they failed to sell all 20, the cheerleaders had to wander the stands between quarters.

“You walk by a guy and you’re afraid you’re going to get touched,” said Ms. Davis, the former member of the Saintsations fired in January for the Instagram post. “Every girl dreads going out there before the games. We didn’t feel very important because we were literally thrown into the mix with the fans. Who would throw professional cheerleaders, walking around with cash, out with drunk fans?”

(...) Some teams are adapting. The Los Angeles Rams recently announced that for the first time, two men will join their team of 40 dancers. (Men have worked as acrobats and baton twirlers on N.F.L. sidelines before.) Keely Fimbres, the head of cheerleading for the Rams for 28 years, said adding men to the team is a sign that gender roles are changing, however slowly.

“I think this is just the right timing because we talk about equality and inclusiveness,” she said. “They’ll be fun to watch on Sundays.”

I had a great time at the Black & Gold Fan Fest at the Hancock Whitney Center on Poydras! It was an hour packed full of NOLA Fun! I have to make an extra effort to attend more often! . The Saints Fans represented and were very friendly and engaging. The heart and soul is of New Orleans lies within the people. Special appearances included SBXLIV kicker Garrett Hartley, the Saintsations, and Sir Saint! There were be giveaways for autographed merch, the much need clear tote, plus tickets & sideline passes to game against Indianapolis tonight! Food and drink samples from Raising Canes, Rouses, Community Coffee, and Frito Lay. . There were NO Kids so imagine adults lining up to get their face painted and as you see I was one of them 🤣 . DJ Raj J Smooth did the thing on the ones and twos; he kept the fans entertained and on the dance floor, well platform. It was a great event!
