Sailor Stars episode 200 was written with a different ending. Part 1
I was surprised when I started reading the script how parts of the ending was changed. Let me know your thoughts on what version you like better!
Side note. I am paraphrasing.
Page 4. On this page, Chibi Chibi is referred to as Cosmos in parentheses. Makes me wonder if they tried to plan a little more than just the silhouette.
Page 17. This is where Sailor Moon defeats Galaxia. It mentions how the starseeds are returned and they shoot off of into the night. The entire scene of Galaxia and Sailor Moon speaking while they are both naked wondering what what happened to Chaos did not exist.
One of the starseeds materializes into Endymion. He calls her name and she calls him Mamo-chan. In the original script, he was the first appear. Not the Sailor Senshi. The anime reversed it.
Page 18. Usagi still rushes into Mamoru's arms and they hug. He wraps his cape around Usagi. While that is happening the other senshi are returning in this order: Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and Saturn.
Mars: Usagi!
Mercury: Usagi-chan!
Usagi: Everyone!
Mars rushes forward to hug Usagi and Endymion and the other Inners are right behind her. It is not completely clear, but I believe the Outers hug them as well.
Scene shifts to Princess Kakyuu appearing in front the Starlights.
Page 19. Scene with Kakyuu and Starlights is pretty much the same until the end. Fighter looks up at Usagi and Usagi looks back at Fighter. They smile at each other.
Usagi says, "Thank you Chibi Chibi." This is the first time Chibi Chibi is mentioned in these past few pages. I would assume Chibi Chibi is not present for any of this.
Scene at the end shifts to all the starseeds returning throughout the universe to where they belong. This reads like an amazing scene to have countless shooting stars leaving the Earth to go home.
Page 20. Continuation of starseed scene. We found Chibi Chibi!
This is rather vague. Chibi Chibi is talking to someone listed as "girl." Going back to the cast page in a previous post, "girl" has "Past Galaxia" listed and no cast name. Is this the freed Galaxia?
Girl/Galaxia is taking to Chibi Chibi about going back home. They discuss how light revived the galaxy but Chaos may come back.
Chibi Chibi talks. She says, it's okay because of Sailor Moon's warm light.
Girl/Galaxia agrees.
The Moon is rising and Chibi Chibi says they should go home.
Girl/Galaxia agrees and thanks Sailor Moon.
They hold hands and go home.
Scene shifts to plane lights in the sky twinkling like stars.
Page 21. Saying goodbye to the Starlights. WOW. This is very different.
Ami asks Taiki if they are leaving.
Taiki says they are and his friends are waiting for him. They are going to make a new planet.
Ami says "Taiki-san......" (there are a lot of dots)
Taiki said thank you it was really nice to meet her and they shake hands.
Rei and the girls are surprised to see them shaking hands. Rei comments they're holding hands.
Minako says somehow.
Makoto says Ami-chan is doing well.
Ami is embarrassed by this that she is holding his hand and she is still shy she is trying to say something but her voice trails off.
Rei and the group ask, what about us?
Enter Yaten who states he is also really glad to have met everyone.
Rei, Makoto, and Minako... (I think) make googy eyes at Yaten and call him Yaten-kun.
Yaten then thanks Luna and shakes his hand with the cat. (I'm dying over here). I am also assuming he shakes the cat's paw?
Page 22. Luna's response and Artemis are pretty much the same here.
Makoto says, wait a minute.
Rei comments, passing on all these cute girls/maidens.
Minako: Say hello to the cat?
Yaten and Luna laugh.
Seiya and Princess Kakyuu are looking up at the sky.
Seiya comments it feels like a long time since they chased Princess Kakyuu to this planet.
Princess Kakyuu speaks out loud wondering what happened to the Light Hope they were searching for.
Seiya says hope is within everyone. He will continue to guide everyone as a shining star and it was something he forgot along the way.
Princess Kakyuu smiles. She never gave up on that Light of Hope until the very end. (She is not clear. Maybe Sailor Moon? Chibi Chibi?)
Page 23. Usagi calls out to Seiya. Scene is very similar to the anime.
Seiya turns around to see Usagi standing there with Mamoru. He tells her, he is glad she has her boyfriend back.
Usagi says it is thanks to him being here and she working hard.
Seiya says Odango. The two stare at each other.
Seiya says he will never forget her.
Usagi still says they're be friends forever. (poor Seiya)
Minako and Makoto laugh. Ami and Princess Kakyuu turn red. Rei and Mamoru look baffled.
Girls make fun of Usagi for not understanding.
Page 24. Rei makes fun of Usagi for not understanding what Seiya means.
Princess Kakyuu says its time to return to their planet.
Seiya whispers in Mamoru's ear as he passes by, he has to protect her from now on.
Mamoru says he will and will make Seiya happy.
Seiya laughs and comments you say that. He turns around and says goodbye Odango.
They turn into the Starlights and say goodbye, same as the anime.
Final pages in the next post tomorrow. Couldn't fit it all in one.

ホットテイクトーナメント!

Submission 403
I hate almost every dub ever. And this isn’t a weeaboo take, A Japanese dub of South Park even? Get that shit out of here.
Voice actors are forced to do the same voice, and add no depth to character. The dubbed scenes have so much less emotion to them. The original audio and voice acting I think has a lot more authentic quality to it. Things are put it o an English script, and then edited and censored. (Example: gay people in sailor moon made to be cousins. Many more examples i could give) I’m lowkey just being a snob about some things but I really think I’m right overall.

Nanami-sama, Beware!!!
It's May 7, 1997, and you're about to watch episode 6 of Revolutionary Girl Utena!!!
There was a HUUUGE data leak though, and somehow, in advance of the episode dropping, you were able to catch the storyboards!! (Hell, you even found someone who leaked the script, and screenshots of the episode!) Looks pretty exciting, lots of strange things happening here. The storyboards say episode 8 for some reason, but otherwise it all seems on the up and up!
So you eagerly crack open your May issue of Newtype Magazine to check out the plot summary:
Today's home economics class is cooking practice. At Miki's request, Himemiya and I decided to make "spicy curry." However, the curry powder we use is replaced with extremely spicy curry from India, which is so spicy that Touga's younger sister, Nanami, harasses her. What's more, the spiciness explodes into pieces! The phantom megaton of ultra-spicy curry, 900 billion times more, goes into the pot. When Himemiya and I did that, we were so blown away that our personalities switched!! Hey, hey, you're not kidding!
Wait....what????? That doesn't match the storyboards at all! Or the screenshots??? Sure enough, the episode title listed with this plot summary is Nanami-sama, Beware!...but what's curry gotta do with that?
So you hop in a time machine, and check out Ikuhara's 2011 DVD extras commentary:
This episode originally went into production as “Episode 8.” It was “in production as Episode 8” during scripting, storyboarding, and even after animation started. But it got switched in the broadcast order with “Episode 6 (”Curried High Trip”, which broadcast as episode 8)“, because that episode fell behind schedule. Because I always called this “Episode 8” during the production process, the impression stuck in my mind to this day is: “Curry is Ep 6; the kangaroo is Ep 8.” It’s a comedic story, but it shows Nanami’s feelings for Touga. This wasn’t just about Nanami; it was also about how we’d present Touga. The original plan was to connect stories with a “Touga Episodes” theme: first in episode 8 we’d show Nanami’s feelings for Touga is a comedic way, then in episode 9 we’d show Touga in contrast with [Kyouichi] Saionji, then in episode 10 we’d show Touga using Nanami’s feeling for him, and finally in episode 11 we’d show Touga facing off against Utena. I’d used a group of three identical characters before, in Sailor Moon S [the Amazon Trio?]. It was strangely fun, so I tried sticking them in this show, too. The staff liked them, too (it was probably more like the staff found them convenient), so we turned them into semi-regular characters. It’s largely thanks to Ms. Hayashi, the animation director, that the production troubles weren’t reflected in the quality of the episode. I like how Touga looks so unnecessarily cool during the climax, when he defeats the kangaroo.
Huh!!! In case you're wondering, the next issue of Newtype will have the identical description under an episode 8 titled Curried High Trip. So I guess amid the mess, they just never published an episode description for this one??
Come chat about it in the watch thread on Something Eternal, or just enjoy this weird little tour. :)

Basic Magical Hero Terminology 🌙
Hi everyone! Welcome to Mahou Planet's first guide on our tumblr page!
Before I begin, I'd just like to give a couple of regards:
I forgot to clarify that this main account is almost exclusively ran by the owner of Mahou Planet, Georgia. Unless stated otherwise, Georgia is usually the one writing these posts. I just like talking in 3rd person since I want to sound a bit more professional yk?? (psst say hi to me in the comments im so cool)
If you want to hear more about the staff and members of Mahou Planet, please consider following our secondary blog: @mahouplanetstaff !
I'd also like to promote our Discord server a little more. Not only will you get to interact with our amazing community, I also do polls there for our members so they can have a voice in deciding what I write next! If you want to participate or even request ideas of what to add in my tutorials, consider joining Mahou Planet! (as long as you're 13+) The join link is in our bio and pinned post.
Now that that's out of the way, let's jump into the guide!
✨️ TAKING IT SLOW
Wether you're a beginner magical hero who has no idea what they're getting into, or an advanced magical hero who has likely heard these terms in their sleep, magical hero terminology is important to know when you're in the magical hero community. Without understanding some basic terms, you'll have no idea what magical heroes on Wattpad, Discord, etc. are talking about when they post. Let's take things slow for this first post and go over some terminology!
🌙 TERMINOLOGY
Magical Hero (MH) -> A magical hero is.. well.. what you're becoming!
"BUT GEORGIA!!! WHY DO YOU USE MAGICAL HERO IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE MAGICAL GIRL!!!" You can use magical girl as well, a lot of people in the community use that term as an umbrella term. There are some people, however, who want to become a magical girl but do not identify as a girl. For instance, I may be afab, but I identify as genderfluid. I use both magical girl and magical hero, but that may not be the case for others!! Some may use magical boy, magical enby, etc. That doesn't make them any less of a magical hero!
Concept -> A basic explanation of a concept is the type of a magical hero you're becoming. Magical heroes can be from any show, franchise, even your own original concepts! Some of the common ones I see are Precure, Madoka Magica, and Sailor Moon, though personally I've seen a lot more original concepts rise through the community. Concepts can be as vague or as detailed as you want- I'll go more into detail about concepts wayyy later.
Familiar/Mascot -> Familiars, or mascots, are who give you the power to become a magical hero! They usually also represent your team and give you advice on how to succeed as a magical hero. Unlike what you see in typical magical hero shows, familiars don't always have to be animals. They can be humans, objects, etc. Sometimes, you can have a concept with no familiar!
Script -> A script is a collection of what you want as a magical hero. Scripting is the process of creating your script. This is usually done in a word processor, like Google Docs or Notion. You can add in pictures of your outfits/weapons, info about yourself, etc! I'll be sharing some of my self made scripting templates later on!
Subliminals -> Subliminals are subconsious messages over music or noise that go into your subconsious mind, helping you manifest desired results. Subliminals aren't just exclusive for becoming a magical hero. There are different subliminal topics, such as getting longer hair, changing your eye color, etc! Friendly reminder that subliminals are just a tool to help you manifest, and are not required for you to transform. What is required is.. you! Yes, you and your subconsious mind!
I will warn you, especially those new to the subliminal community: we do not condone the usage of problematic subliminals, such as race-changing (and the RCTA community), any underground subliminal, or subliminals glorifying trauma, abuse, etc. If you condone the usage of these subliminals, then leave this blog. You are not welcome here or in our Discord server. /srs
Manifesting -> Manifesting is the act of bringing something into this reality that you want. It's like a dream come true- say, you've manifested good grades, healthy hair, etc. There are several methods to manifest, but the most common one I've seen is manifesting with subliminals.
Affirmations -> Affirmations are positive statements that help reinforce your subconsious mind what you want to manifest. Things like "I will transform" and "I am a magical hero" are some! These are put into subliminals, but you can also create your own to make sigils, spells, etc.
Fantasy Shift Phase (F Shift) -> In fantasy shifting phase, you're planning out your aspects of your magical hero life, desired life, etc. This is where you create ideas for your magical hero concept. You can also create your subliminal playlist in this phase.
Mental Shift Phase (M Shift) -> In mental phase, you're changing your mental (and sometimes physical) state to think like a magical hero. This can be doing good deeds for others, watching magical hero shows, physically training, etc! You're preparing for your future as a magical hero. Acting as if and roleplaying are two common ways magical heroes mentally shift!
Phantom Shifting (Ph Shift) -> Phantom shifting is where you feel the sensation of being a magical hero, however, you haven't fully transformed yet. This can come in the form of feeling sensations of your outfit, weapons, etc while in civilian form. Some magical heroes don't count phantom shifting as its own phase since it's more of a term to describe sensations you feel.
Astral Shift Phase (A Shift) -> Astral shifting is where you see your magical hero form in the astral plane, either by phantom shifting or astral projecting. There's little information on how to astral shift, but don't let that discourage you!
Physical Shift Phase (P Shift) -> Also known as "full results", physical shifting is where you physically transform into a magical hero! You've completed a journey and are beginning another one! Congratulations <3
Fictional Other (F/O) -> Fictional others are signifigant others being manifested into this reality from a fictional source. They can be human, nonhuman, etc! I see a lot of magical heroes do this, so I thought it'd be nice to add (psst, to all those selfshippers out there manifesting f/o's, you are so valid and your partner loves you more than anything in this world <3)
That's all of the terminology I can think of! If you have any questions, think I forgor something, or want to add to this post, feel free to leave a note or an ask!! I hope you guys learned something from this post :)
See you all next time!

Evay QA Bulk Post 4
Here's another roundup of questions! I'm sorry if you don't see your question answered here. I tried answering as many as I could handle. Thank you all for reaching out :)
PERSONAL ASKS
Anon asked: I don’t know if this is too personal or not, but if you feel comfortable sharing, what prompted you to make a return after not posting at all for about 3 years?
A: That's okay, I don't mind you asking. To be honest, I just suffered from art block for a very long time. I couldn't get myself to draw no matter how hard I tried. I would sit myself down and try to force myself to do it, but I just couldn't. I don't know why it went away and I don't know why it came back, but suddenly my spark came back with a vengeance! I'm back to wanting to draw all the time! I think that's both the wonderful and awful thing about creativity: you can't force it. It sucks, but hopefully I can serve as proof to others who are going through it that you can spring back from it.
Anon asked: Hi E-vay! I couldn't help but notice a few Coraline references in some of your art work, are you a fan of the film too? By the way, Sonamy 4 eva!!
A: Yes I LOVE Coraline! I never read the book but I love the movie. It fills my spooky little heart and soul!
sonicalover1345 asked: Hey, quick question have you watched Hazbin Hotel Prime video? If you have what is or are your favorite characters?
A: I haven't yet! Honestly when the pilot first came out years ago, I didn't care for it. (I love Helluva Boss, did not care for Hazbin Hotel). But I've heard a million people recommending the series and I've heard the songs because of Tiktok and a lot of the songs sound great, so I have been meaning to check it out.
Anon asked: What is your favourite Tim burton movie? 🖤
A: I want to say Nightmare Before Christmas, but to be completely honest it's probably Mars Attacks! It's so campy and funny and it has that retro horror sci-fi film feel to it, and the cast rocks. It checks all the boxes for me. I even have a Mars Attacks! print hung up at my office at work:
wind-upbaby14 asked: Just curious but what happened to that hell hath series you made and why did you stop?
A: I went through a severe art block and hadn't drawn anything for a long time, even though I had the whole script for it written out. However since getting my mojo back, I've completely re-written the story and am working on it again. You'll see more of HHNF soon and I'm certain you'll like it better than it was meant to be originally!
Anon asked: I’m unsure if you’ve been asked this before, feel free to ignore if so but would you ever consider opening a Patreon? Y’know for earlier access and possibly spicy art🤔?
A: I did have a Patreon once upon a time, but it gave me severe imposter syndrome lol It put too much pressure on me to put out content that I thought was worthy enough for people to be paying for, so I ultimately closed it down. It doesn't mean I won't ever open it up again, but I don't have any immediate plans to do that. Also regarding the spice haha 😅 I appreciate your interest, but I just don't like to share that kind of content.
milangakokoros asked: I know you like sailor moon, I remember that you published a drawing that you did in 2007 somewhere, of Aurora sailor moon version. What other animes do you like? have you seen saint seiya? (it's my current hyperfixation)
A: I don't watch much anime anymore, but I used to be obsessed with Naruto. That's primarily what I would draw back in my dA days, but I lost interest in it a long time ago. I also loved Fruits Basket, Kill La Kill, One Punch Man and Attack on Titan. There are other shows I've watched, but those were the major series. I haven't seen the series you mentioned, sorry!
milangakokoros asked: Have you thought about making more games like the one you made on Halloween?
A: Absolutely! I don't know what the next game will be, but I definitely want to make more!
prophecyhyper asked: Do you post any of your drawings on any other sites?
A: I sometimes post my art on my Instagram and I sometimes post timelapses of my drawings on Tiktok, but I mostly post here on Tumblr!
aviles2003 asked: I've been meaning to ask you this about adaptations, what is your only favorite Video Game Movie you wanna see, already watched, and excited to see? (Sonic the Hedgehog Movies, The Super Mario Bros Movie, Detective Pikachu, Or Five Nights at Freddy's?)
A: So far my favorite game-movie adaptation is the Super Mario Bros movie! I love it so much! I love that they kept the style of the game but made it a little more polished than what you'd get in the games. I loved the characters, I loved all the references within it, I loved the music. I just think it's a perfect adaptation. Of course I'm super excited for Sonic 3! I'm sure it's going to be great, I'm just praying that Amy will be in it! I need her in it :( I'd love to see a movie adaptation of Dead Space. That's one of my favorite games and ooh I think it'd make such a good horror film. I know they made animated movies for it, but I want it done in a proper hollywood horror way!
edwinflores428 asked: E-vay, since you're also a Beatles enjoyer, did you hear the new Beatles song 'Now and Then'?
A: I didn't know about this until you mentioned this in my inbox. Wow that was emotional! I can't believe they were able to make a song out of an old unreleased recording and really get to finally get closure for their band in a way. Just incredible!
Anon asked: hey, i logged in after a long time and i was just happy to see you’re still posting. i’ve been following since the deviantart days and i just wanted to say how much i enjoy your art. it has always brought me a lot of joy :)
A: This isn't an ask, but I wanted to include it just so I could tell those of you who send these kinds of messages to my inbox: Thank you ❤️ I don't know if you all realize how much it means to me to have your support. Whether you're new to my work or whether you've followed me since my deviantART days, it absolutely makes my day when I receive these kind of wonderful, positive messages. My only wish is that you didn't feel you needed to write me anonymously so I could thank you personally! But I'll respect your privacy ❤️ From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

MISC SONIC ASKS
Anon asked: I was wondering what your favourite brotherly head cannon would be between Sonic and Tails? :3
A: Even though Sonic's older and technically raised Tails, I love the idea of them sort of "raising each other." Sonic teaches Tails how to defend himself, how to navigate the world, how to do the right thing, but Tails is the one who teaches Sonic how to read and write, introduces him to philosophical discussions that Sonic finds really boring but actually helps him to be a better hero and be a better version of himself. I even like the idea of Tails being the one to teach Sonic how to play music. Sonic has a natural talent for it, but Tails is the one to teach him notes and chords, how to actually read sheet music, things like that.
umbrathehedgehog asked: Hey, I noticed that one piece about Sonic Prime. It's very nice! What did you like or not like about the show? Been seeing a lot of differing opinions on it and I'm really curious about what you thought!
A: Thanks so much! As a whole I'd say it was okay. It certainly wasn't the best Sonic media out there in my opinion but no way was it the worst. I understand it's a kid's show, but it was way too formulaic for me. It got to the point where I could pretty much bet "in 2 minutes Character A is going to seem like all is lost, then a loud explosion/sudden shake will happen, and they'll look up like 'whuAHHH???' and Character B will show up to help." That's fine, but not when it's happening multiple times every single episode. So to be honest, it wasn't a show that I looked forward to watching like I did with Sonic Boom. It was just something I had on because it was Sonic-related. But Sonic Prime had a lot of good character writing and the acting was great. They explored character relationships/dynamics and emotions that some other Sonic content hasn't done before, so I applaud them for that. It's mirroring what happened in Sonic Frontiers and I love that the franchise is willing to dig a little deeper on an emotional level like that. And I've said it before but I'll say it a million times more: Shadow was PERFECT! The positive of having Shadow portrayed so excellently far outweighed any negatives I could say for the show!
chrismantike asked: What’re your thoughts on longclaw (the owl from the sonic movie) does she exist in your AU as Sonic’s mom?
A: Well we didn't get to see very much of her, but I loved her design! She was very majestic and beautiful and kind. None of the characters or storyline from the live action movies are part of my AU.
-
MY OCs/AU ASKS
Anon asked: So when’s did aurora learn that she could turn invisible? And did she use it to pull a prank on her parents making them think she disappeared
A: Aurora discovers her light abilities when she's young (think about preteen age), but she doesn't fully know what all she can do yet. It takes a lot of experimenting and studying with Uncle Tails to figure out everything she can do. He is the one who tells her that if she can bend light, she should be able to use it to cloak herself. Tails and Sonic obviously mean she should use it as a defensive move, but Aurora instantly thinks it's the perfect power for pranks! Picture a lot of objects "floating" around the house with a lot of phony "OooooOOoooOOOO" ghost noises haha
Anon asked: Is aurora a comic book fan? If so what’s her favorite series
A: Aurora can enjoy super hero related stuff, but she's not an avid fan of it and I would say she does not read comics. Aurora is more into fantasy/romance books. Ruff is the one who is into comic books :) His favorite would be Batman.
Anon asked: I love your idea of Aurora and Sage being close friends, I really think that fits! That being said, do you think Sage and CC would get along?
and gale-gentlepenguin asked: I’m curious on how Sage would interact with Aurora and CC? I know it would probably be seperate universes but it would be fun to see how Eggman’s daughter reacts to Sonics daughter and a sentient AI of equal intellect
A: Thank you! I've been thinking about it and I like the idea of Sage and CC being rivals, but in a very cheeky, friendly way. Sort of like Sonic and Knuckles. Sage and CC would make everything into a competition to see who can solve this problem fastest or who can simulate something best, to determine who is truly the more intelligent of the two AIs. But again, not in a toxic way. In a "I have to be the best version of myself in order to beat you because the respect I have for you is insanely high" kind of way. And Sage could playfully tease CC for wanting to become organic because it'd be a "step backwards" in her evolution, but really she'd work to find a way to help make CC's dream come true.
antooogamer asked: Hello, I already know why Diamond is white and Boon's color is for Aurora, but now I have a question about Cinder, why is he Orange? :^
A: Orange is in the same color family as red and pink, so I think it still works. As far as color theory, in my AU Aurora has a grandma who is yellow and Shadow's fur includes red, so by blending those colors you can get orange. It's the same reason why Nova is purple, it's a blend of colors from their lineage. I tried Cinder out in several different colors but orange is ultimately what fit him best.
animefan299110 asked: After seeing your artwork of Sage and Aurora interacting, I got to ask: Do they hang out a lot or is Sage like a cousin/big sister who visits all the time?
A: They're more like best friends than sisters/cousins. I know people draw Sage growing older and stuff but I personally headcanon that she'd stay in the form of a child because she feels no need to grow up. But once she's friends with Aurora, then I could see her "aging" up alongside Aurora so that she always matches her friend. It's just a headcanon of mine for now and that could ultimately change in the future.
Anon asked: Has Aurora ever been to space before if so what were her thoughts. Was she like markiplier with the whole space is so cool song.
A: Aurora DESPERATELY wants to go to space more than anything! But for most of her life she hardly ever left her home. It isn't until she's grown up that she actually starts to properly explore the world. Eventually I want her to go to space, but it would be once she's living on her own.
skywriter97 asked: So I saw this one fanart comic (that I can't remember the name of) forever ago and in it Shadow had his emblem tattooed on his arm and it made me wonder (since you the best Sonic fan artist hands down no contest) does Sonamy/Shadora (or any of your characters kn your Au) have any tats or piercings anywhere? If so, what and where? (If the fur doesn't get in the way for them lol) (Votes go to Shadow being a tatted and pierced edgelord cuz that would be so 🔥🔥🔥👌👌👌😍🤩😍🤩🤩😍🥵🥵🤤🤤🤌🤌🤌)
A: You are just so sweet, thank you! You know I'm very pro tats and I love seeing what people think the different Sonic characters would get. For my AU, I only have two (technically three) characters depicted with tattoos. Amy's dad Clay Rose has two tattoos on his bicep: A heart with his wife's name in it, and then a matching little heart with Amy's name in it. Adult Knuckles has a simple "M.E." tattooed on his bicep. It's a reference to Knuckles' theme and also his dedication to the Master Emerald. Lastly, I have the human version of Cinder (but only the human version) with forearm sleeves that continue down his hands. So far those are the only characters I have with tattoos. As far as piercings, most of my characters have ear piercings but they don't often wear earrings. Blitz and Lulu are the only characters who always wears earrings. I could see Shadow getting at least an ear pierced, but I headcanon that with his rapid healing that it would almost instantly close if he didn't actively wear a piercing at the time.
Anon asked: I totally hope that Piper will have a girlfriend! Do you see her more with a girl or a boy?
A: I currently see PIper as demiromantic. She is currently not interested in anyone romantically or physically, and I don't want to diminish that part of her identity by saying 'Oh but she'll eventually end up with __." Of course, a headcanon is whatever you want so if you personally ship her with a woman that's cool with me!
Anon asked: Hey evay, i was looking at this old info of Amy, and It says that she wans't always at home, did Aurora had any issue with that? Did some part of her childhood she could say that she had mother issues? (Sorry if you can't understand, my english it's terrible 💀)
A: Your English is excellent! I wouldn't go so far as to say Aurora had mother issues. Amy wasn't completely absent from Aurora's youth, she was just working a lot so she wasn't constantly at home the way Sonic was. It would have made things a little awkward/emotional at times because that naturally made Aurora favor Sonic a little more when she was younger, but that also made the times she did have with Amy all the more special. Aurora never thought to herself "My mom has abandoned me because she's never home," it was more of a "Work is stupid and being grown up is stupid because it means Mom can't stay home and play with me all day." Aurora and Amy grow a lot closer as Aurora gets older and better understands the meaning of responsibilities and commitment.
Anon asked: Hi hi! I'm kinda new in the Sonic fandom and I've seen lots of your comics and content so far (That are great!) The shadora refs of their kids are just so *chef kiss*, when I looked at it, I told myself: "Damn, I wanna make ref sheets this great for my characters too!" I love the fact that you called them an horde! xD And the angst with Shadow's immortality must be amazing! Uh I'm getting out of the subject ^^'' I wanted to ask you if you planned or did anything with Silver? I don't think I saw anything from you with him And another question, if no one asked this before, are any of Shadora's kiddos immortal too? Or maybe they're "half immortal"? Like, they live longer than everyone else but still has a shorter lifespan than their dad I love your work! Keep going! ^^ And have a wonderful day :D
A: Wow, that's so kind of you to say! Thank you so much! I hope you do make ref sheets for your characters :) I haven't planned anything with Silver for my AU yet. To be honest, I don't know his character very well and I try my best to always keep the original characters in-character, so that's why I haven't done anything with him yet. But I recently purchased the volumes of IDW comics and I'm hoping to understand him better and then I will be more confident writing him! Secondly, none of the Shadora horde are immortal. They have stronger immune systems so they can heal faster and are less likely to get sick than the average Mobian, but they are still mortal and still age at a normal rate. Thank you for the questions and compliments!
Anon asked: I love the Shadora babies sm !! My question is..What excactly happend in the fight between Diamond and Cinder? Love your art btw<3
A: Thank you so much! I need to make a comic about it. When they were young they were all exploring the different zones and Cinder was really struggling with some of the obstacles so he was already getting quite aggravated. Diamond noticed this and offered to help because some problems are better solved as a team, and Cinder immediately gets pissed and tells her to buzz off. She gets upset that he snaps at her, and there's some escalation between the two and finally Cinder blows up at her (literally). He immediately regrets it as he did not mean to hurt her, but the damage is already done.
degux asked: What would happen if Metal Sonic ( somehow :v ) met CC ?
A: Hmm. Well, even though Metal Sonic is based on Sonic, I love stories that involve him having an identity crisis and ultimately deciding that he's not just going to be a clone. He's his own entity, right? They're alike, but they're not the same. I don't know where he'd be on that self journey by the time he meets CC, but she'd definitely see him as his own person, not as a Sonic copy. But likely he'd still be an antagonist, so they'd end up having to battle lol
milangakokoros asked: does team chaotix exist in the Aurora universe? and have they interacted with the Rose family?
A: They definitely exist in my AU, but I haven't completely decided what their roles are yet. I can see Vector becoming Cream's stepdad (I'm not passionate about the VanillaXVector ship but I know it's practically canon), and then that leads me down a rabbit hole (pun intended) of how does that affect the dynamics of Team Chaotix? I have some rough ideas but I need to spend more time on it.
Anon asked: Have you thought about introducing Vector or Team chaotix in your sonamy and Aurora comics? :0 I picture him being "Uncle Stanley Pines" from Aurora and the Hyena Boys.
A: I had to add this question immediately after because your idea of Grunkle Stan made me laugh out loud! Oh my gosh I love that!
A: ¡Gracias! The character you're referring to was an OC made by my friend Nana, a Sonamy fankid named Spazz. I sometimes drew him interacting with Aurora because my friend Nana and I just liked to draw our characters interacting, but Spazz is not a part of my AU. Nana is no longer on tumblr so that's why there aren't any Spazz art/comics anymore.
Anon asked: Does Sonic’s Uncle Chuck exist in your AU?
A: No I don't include the Archie comics or characters at all
⚠‼️THIS QUESTION MIGHT BE TRIGGERING. SKIP IF YOU NEED TO. TW: INFERTILITY ‼️⚠ Anon asked: Hi e-vay! I’ve recently re-read your ‘Boom Baby’ comic & was wonderin’ - especially with all their attempts - did Sonic or Amy, either one, stuggle with infertility? If so, did they ever have any doubts of that “I’m pregnant” moment ever happening?
A: Infertility is a very real issue that many people (including those very close in my life) deal with. Although I do think it's very important for people to be able to see their experiences reflected in the media they consume to help them remember that they aren't alone in their experience, this is not something I wanted Sonic and Amy to have to deal with for Boom!Baby. The chapter where Sonic references making multiple attempts during a certain window of time was not meant to imply that they were struggling with infertility. It was instead supposed to show that now that they've both decided they want a child, Amy doesn't want to take any chances to make sure it happens lol. TMI - Even without fertility issues, getting pregnant is not always guaranteed so it can take a lot of planning and timing (and frankly, luck) to be successful. Super TMI - I headcanon that Sonic and Amy are already intimate A LOT so now that they're trying for a baby it's above and beyond and that's why Sonic is tired in that chapter lol
fireghost234 asked: Hi this is my first time asking you!!!, does sonic in your AU still have his swordfighting skills from black knight?
A: Thank you for the question! Personally I don't think he'd retain those skills after that experience, so no that's not a trait he has in my AU anyway.
madysonisbae19 asked: Okay so I’m listing to the Encanto soundtrack and when Surface Pressure came on tell me why I instantly thought of Diamond singing this song when she is down about being physically the strongest out of her family.
A: That song (and character) is so her! Thank you for pointing that out to me, I'm going to associate that with her now 🥰
Anon asked: Did Aurora actually got bullied in school?
A: In my stories Mobians don't really go to "school," but yes she was bullied by a group of other kids when she was little. I have a script for a comic for this, I just haven't drawn it yet.
Anon asked: I think I'm pretty sure you based post-Boom to make your comics, but do you think Prime to becanon to your comic continuity too?
A: My AU is a fluid situation haha It adapts as more Sonic content comes out and I get to pick what I want to include. That's what makes AUs fun! Hmmm, ultimately I'm going to say no, I don't think Prime is canon to my stories.
Anon asked: Hi e-vay! Just wanted to ask, will we ever see what happened with Sonic and Amy's wedding in your AU? We've seen Amy's pregnancy with Aurora and their first date, so it seems like another natural relationship landmark to make a shenanigans-filled story out of! Also, keeping on the Sonamy wedding topic, what's their guestlist look like? Are there any surprises in who's getting an invite and who isn't?
A: I definitely have a sonamy wedding comic in the works :) It's going to be multi-chaptered. I would love to answer your other questions but I don't want to spoil the surprise! 😜
SHIPPING ASKS
Anon asked: Not to sound weird or anything, but does Sonic have a go to move that seduces Amy? 💙🩷
A: He simply ✨exists✨
Anon asked: Does Sonic ever dream about Amy?
A: I mean, I think so 😉
Anon asked: Hi e-vay! I had a question for you that I've been wanting to know about. If you read Harry Potter or watch the movies, don't you think that Harry and Ginny's relationship is similar to Sonic and Amy? I know this is kind of random, but it's like Harry is the hero, and Ginny was always in love with him, but their relationship slowly developed throughout the books, especially the 6th book. And that's how Sonic and Amy have been throughout the years
A: Hello! I have seen the movies and I read some of the books, but I don't know the series all that well. Actually, I don't remember Ginny being in the movies much at all, so I was a little confused when she and Harry ended up together. Maybe there was more to it in the books that I just never read. So if I'm going solely based on the movies I've seen, I can't say that I see the correlation. But that's not to say you're wrong in thinking that :)
aurorathehedge6 asked: What's your favorite Sonamy art that you made?
A: Definitely My Gal, specifically the last couple of chapters. I put my whole heart into that story and I'm pretty proud of it.
essycogany asked: Hi! First, I want to say that I LOVE your work! You’re so talented and I couldn’t appreciate your stuff enough. How are you feeling about the new Sonamy material from this and last year? Things are really starting to become more obvious as the years go on. Hope you’re doing well. 💖
A: Thank you so much! I hope you're doing well too :) UGH!!! 😩💙💖💙💖💙💖 We have been fed SO WELL lately! I can't believe it, what a time to be alive! I'm still sure they won't ever make it canon, but I love the sweet little snippets we get and just how much Sonic and Amy's relationship has evolved over the years to be so much closer. And I giggle like a little maniac every time they're on screen together or they're side by side in marketing. It makes my heart SING!
Anon asked: Are you still a fan of of the OT3 hedgies (Sonamyshad) and are still a fan of shadamy? Will we see any dribbles about them. Your art is so pretty 😍🤩 I just wanna see more 🤣😅 sorry if that embarrassing!
A: That's not embarrassing, that's crazy kind of you to say! Thank you! Yes I do still adore those ships and need to draw them more. It just seems every time I go to draw something my hand gets possessed by the ✨spirit of sonamy✨😂 I promise I'll draw the others at some point!
Anon asked: Are there any ships that you just… don’t get? Not dislike or hate or anything, just one that you fully don’t understand the appeal for…? Cause Metal Sonic and Amy is a ship that kinda baffles me. Like most Amy ships have some appeal. Sonic is obvious, you’re Ms. Sonamy after all. But Shads, Silver, Blaze, and even Surge have fun dynamics, and Metal doesn’t really strike me as a character that is able to be shipped effectively… Thoughts?
A: There definitely are ships that I don't understand. But if I don't understand or don't like a ship (or fan theories, or whatever), I'd rather just not talk about them. I used to indulge in that style of arguing discussion when I was a kid but I don't do that kind of stuff anymore. If I don't get something I just say "That's not for me" and move along. I do support the MetAmy ship myself but it's not at the top of my ship list (lol). I like it because Metal Sonic is based on Sonic, and if they're meant to be similar and I believe that Sonic does care about Amy, then that logic would tell me that Metal cares about Amy, too. And even though Metal is a villain, Amy does care about his well being (just like she cares about everyone's well being). Metal Sonic is also one of the main reasons Amy and Sonic met in the first place, so I think she holds a special place in her heart for him, even if it's not 100% romantic. That's my reasoning, but I don't want or expect you to change your opinion.
Anon asked: Will tails and CC ever get married?
A: Whoa now, I've never even drawn them on an official date yet ;)
Anon asked: What tv shows would sonic and amy watch together?
A: I think a lot of feel-good comedies like Brooklyn 99, Bob's Burgers, Modern Family and Schitt's Creek.
*The next question is a Shadora Ask. Skip if you don’t like Shadora*
Anon asked: What would Shadow and Aurora’s fave show be?
A: They don't have similar tastes in shows, but I could see them both enjoying Only Murders in the Building and cut throat competition cooking shows like Hell's Kitchen.
*The next question is a Shadora Ask. Skip if you don’t like Shadora
gray3754 asked: How old would Amy and Sonic be when Aurora started to date shadow
A: I don't really do exact ages, but Sonic and Amy have Aurora roughly when they're in their mid-to-late 20s. So they would be in their mid-to-late 40s when Aurora and Shadow first meet.
*The next question is a Shadora Ask. Skip if you don’t like Shadora
aurorathehedge6 asked: What's your favorite Shadora art that you made? Also have Sonic, Amy, Aurora, and Shadow ever been on a double date?
A: Hmm, I think my fav Shadora art is the comic where Shadow and Aurora discuss her "wings" (back quills). It started out as just a fluffy piece but I think it really set the tone for their relationship in my stories. As far as a double date -- I could see them trying a double date early on when Shadow first states his intention to date Aurora, but it doesn't go well. Years later when Sonic is more accepting of their relationship I could see them occasionally going out for lunch/dinner together instead of just their weekly family dinners at home.
*The next question is a Shadora Ask. Skip if you don’t like Shadora
ticciticcicendy asked: I don't know if you do this question but has any of Aurora and shadows kids ever walked in on them?
A: Hahaha, Shadow is too savvy for that! He had the Shadora house built to essentially be a fortress, which also means the primary bedroom is practically a vault. Ain't nobody getting in there unexpectedly hahaha
*The next question is a Shadora Ask. Skip if you don’t like Shadora
lazypatrolpizzapersona asked: One question, is Aurora jealous when Shadow is with these girls?
A: I'm not sure what girls you are referring to? But Aurora is not a very jealous type.
*The next question is a Shadora Ask. Skip if you don’t like Shadora
zero-aurion asked: Quick question, in terms of lap pillows, for Tails and CC and Shadow and Aurora, who rests their head on the others lap more?
A: CC doesn't need to rest, but Tails is so soft that she just loves to lay against him so she'd definitely use him for a lap pillow more. BONUS POINTS for using his tails as a shawl around her shoulders! Shadow is more likely to rest his head in Aurora's lap. The way she strokes his quills is very soothing and makes him feel content. She also has thick thighs so very, very comfy for lap pillows!
--
Thank you all for the questions!

actually while I'm thinking about it and spamming. why are people suddenly complaining about localization like. is this some kind of right wing dogwhistle or something? localizations these days are WAY less obtrusive than like, the 4kids dub of one piece or card captors or something.
anything is going to get localized if it's translated, expressions and concepts differ from language to language. I wish there was a good way to distinguish "ore" and "boku" "watashi" etc in English but we don't even have gendered self pronouns. (it does bug me when a character gets gendered that previously in japanese never had gendered words used for them but. I know most translators are going to go for that regardless of authors intent)
to be fair the complaints about localization arent new, they're as old as the advent of official anime translation, theres just a lot of people out there who know a little bit of japanese or have access to a decent machine translation service and get Very Mad when something deviates from the original script because To Make Any Changes To The Perfect Nihongo Original Is Tantamount To Sin (despite how often the creators themselves think its perfectly fine or in some specific cases, *better* than the original)
like not to say theres never any issues with localization. ignoring the 4kids dreck with it there are instances where its been used to like. straight up insert racism or ableism or transphobia into a story where it did not exist before. and like for all the complaining about wokeness this same crowd tends to do, localization actually has an ABYSMAL track record in terms of lgbt+ characters, we all remember how Vivian got shafted in the original TTYD and how Uranus and Neptune were. Cousins. in the official dub of Sailor Moon. Genuinely a lot of localization's real issues come from the fact that all art is political, and sometimes the person translating it has some biases going on (or is being directed to avoid 'political' issues entirely, despite the fact that all art is political).

This is a livejournal post by straight_as_an
thanks to this post I discovered that such videos existed about the Storm Hawks Q&A Panel
THE DARK ACE IS MOST LIKELY NOT DEAD.
Sure. . . 😶
-IN FACT ANYONE CAN RETURN.
ANYONE?
CAN RETURN!!
-It's not a series' finale but a SEASON finale.
-Comics are a definite go.
-Stork is definitely not in his twenties. He's a teenager. THANK YOU.
-Crystals are sustainable. They never run out.
-The Waterfall scene with Mr. Moss is based on Apocalypto. YES.
-YES Storm Hawks is also based on Serenity. AS WE ASSUMED.
-There are standard Storm Hawk pajamas.
-I was voted best hair amongst the entire cast. Dark Ace uses too much gel.
It shows. . .😮💨
-Andy Poon [art director] cites his inspirations - Saint Seiya, Sailor Moon, Gundam.
-The "Chicka-cha" was Matt Hill's fault and was not originally scripted.
-Atmosian is an actual alphabet that was broken up!
-The Dark Ace's first name is MARION. OR TERRY.
I prefer the name Terry, it rhymes with Terra.
-The Dark Ace is like MC Hammer.
the dark ace is like who?
-The original Storm Hawk names were all based on Birds! Aerrow = Sparrow, Piper = Oriole, Finn = Finch, Junko = Junco, Stork =... Stork.
SPECIAL NOTE
"We cater to the fans" "But there will be no yaoi action in the store!"

One Villainous Scene: Nowhere For Rabbit To Run
In this episode of Sailor Moon R, all four of the Specter Sisters have spread out over town, and all four of them go after Chibi Usa/Rini when she accidentally alerts them to her presence in a failed attempt to travel back to her original time period. The episode very clearly builds up the idea that there's going to be a major battle, four on four between the Specter Sisters and the Sailor Senshi minus Sailor Moon herself, who has to protect Rini. Watching it for the first time, you're made to anticipate it, making it rewarding when it occurs.
And then you get something you probably weren't anticipating. When it looks like Sailor Moon and Rini are away from the fighting, with Rini safe in Sailor Moon's arms....glowing energy grenades rain down from the sky, and Sailor Moon, preemptively detecting it coming, takes the blow so that Rini doesn't get hurt. The assailant appears on the battlefield, and it's none other than the Specter Sisters' boss, Crimson Rubeus of the Black Moon Clan. The same guy who's been completely stationary and giving the sisters their assignments for the past several episodes makes a surprise in-person appearance to finish this job himself while the sisters are held up by the Sailor Senshi. Briefly explaining who he is, where he's from, and what he's after, Rubeus launches an all-out barrage of energy grenades at Sailor Moon, completely unrelenting and taking sadistic pleasure in seeing her run and struggle in vain to protect the frightened child.
As Sailor Moon lies on the ground, her back literally against the wall and Rini crying for her to get back up, we get the most striking moment from Rubeus that really peels back his exterior and gives us our first real look at the sort of guy he truly is - with a very genuine, pleased smile on his face, he slowly raises up his hand and readies another blast he intends to launch at Rini point blank. Before, the Specter Sisters weren't afraid to get rough with the little girl and they wanted to abduct her to bring her back alive. By contrast, Rubeus here seems to have absolutely zero problem with the notion of doing terrible physical harm to child in a way that would be deadly for her. This is not merely the first of plenty more in-person appearances from Rubeus to come afterwards, but the first of many displays of Rubeus being more than just another bad guy for the girls to be up against, but a callous, deliberately cruel, abusive monster who'll go to the nastiest of lengths to get what he desires, as he thinks only of himself and how he might attain a more glorious standing within the Black Moon Clan. It's what makes him such a memorable bad guy for a section of the show that's otherwise fairly subpar and downright stupid at points (I'll never forgive what Ikuhara did to Mamoru here, who incidentally shows up to help as Sailor Moon stands back up and then for a moment it even looks like Sailor Moon's about to kill Rubeus prematurely, with him only narrowly managing to escape.)
Last thing worth noting about the clip I chose here: the DiC dub is absolute cringe - Sailor Moon, Rini, and Tuxedo Mask all have awful, terribly unconvincing voices, Rubeus' dialogue repetitiously uses "Negamoon" four times, and corny lines like "You're dusted, buster!", "You just a schoolyard bully?" "Find out, cape boy!", and "This guy could use a little scepter therapy" are completely out of place for this urgent moment in the story. But I went with it rather than the Viz dub not only due to it being my first exposure, but for the one saving grace - Robert Tinkler as Rubeus. Steve Staley's an adequate fit for the part too, but he couldn't measure up to Tinkler, who just WAS the character. The smugness, the petulant fury, the all-encompassing malice just oozing from his voice saved most of his material from the scripts. That delivery of "Ready to go? TIME'S WASTING!" and the completely unhinged chuckling that accompanies it is what your childhood nightmares were made of. He just nailed the assingment.
(Also, while I like "Moon Revenge" in this scene too, I sorta prefer how there's no song in the background until Rubeus has appeared and launches his attack. Makes the scene feel all the more special.)

The 30 WORST Sailor Moon Episodes
Leaving off Sailor Stars altogether, because that whole series would fit here.
"Learn How to Be Skinny from Usagi"
Sukehiro Tomita. Great head writer, usually fantastic script writer. What the fuck, man? This is the second episode you penned? While it has a great climax with Usagi kicking a bunch of mind-controlled bodybuilders' asses and Jadeite actually succeeding in his energy gathering mission, but that doesn't excuse all of the body-shaming bullshit that came before, portraying all girls and women as caring about fitness to stay beautiful rather than to stay healthy. It also kind of sabotages the following episode, as it's difficult to give a shit about Shingo after this.
"A Girl's Dream: Usagi Becomes a Bride"
There was some shakiness in Nephrite's first five episodes, but nothing outright bad save for this middle one. It's got the same, clueless "this is what women are like, amirite?" attitude as the previous episode on the list, but in this case it may be even worse because it's the lone woman writer on the staff, Megumi Sugihara, who wrote it! Man, it was bad enough for poor Rei's character to start dating Mamoru in the previous episode; this does her even dirtier.
"Usagi's Confusion: Is Tuxedo Mask Evil?"
That title sure makes this episode sound exciting, doesn't it? Well, if you believe that, then you were swindled. The majority of this episode is about a bizarre Dark Kingdom barbershop ploy to find Sailor Moon, which fails because their machine somehow picks out a stray hair of hers that got on Minako over all of Minako's actual hair, so they think she's Sailor Moon! When Evil Tuxedo Mask does show up, he's kind of underwhelming and the characters seem to brush off the supposed seriousness of the situation at the end, which is a far cry from how things were in the manga. It's the start of the worst stretch of episodes in the original show.
"Let's Become a Princess: Usagi's Bizarre Training"
This episode is a perfect example of an Idiot Plot: the Dark Kingdom are idiots by putting together an expensive princess seminar in the hopes that Sailor Moon will attend just because she knows she was a princess in the past life, Sailor Moon is an idiot who does attend even though being a princess has no bearing on her present day life, her friends are idiots by attending as well for no reason, Evil Tuxedo Mask is an idiot for interfering because he thinks it should be done a different way, Kunzite is an idiot for just squabbling with him over it instead of asserting his authority, and the Monster-of-the-Week is an idiot for letting the squabble distract her and allow Sailor Moon to just waltz right up and purify her. Idiots!
"The Snow, the Mountains, Friendship and Monsters"
First off, how dare this title rip off the far superior "The Summer, the Beach, Youth and Ghosts", making one think it might be another fun breather episode like that when instead it's another asinine Dark Kingdom plan to expose Sailor Moon's identity, this time assuming she'll win a ski race for a "princess" title just because she's a princess, forgetting that Sailor Moon's clumsiness was a big factor in determining who she might be in the previous episode. But even worse than that is how some legit good bonding between Usagi and Rei is totally thrown out by the ending, where Rei reaches peak Adaptational Jerkass mode even when it no longer makes the remotest of sense given all they've been through and what they now know!
"Paired with a Monster: Mako, the Ice Skating Queen"
Didn't we just have an ice sport-based episode? And didn't we just have a Dark Kingdom plan that stupidly forgot the whole "Sailor Moon is clumsy" fact? Add to this Makoto beginning the Flanderization of her character just being about "sempai!", the Monsters-of-the-Week reaching new levels of unfitting campiness, and Evil Tuxedo Mask teaming up with the Sailor Senshi despite insisting he's so totally evil now, and you have a lame, forgettable episode.
"The Legendary Lake Yokai: The Bond of Usagi's Family"
This episode hurts because it has a great set-up with Usagi and her family taking a camping trip, and the Autumn forest they camp in is a beautiful location. Even the myth of the lake monster is great and holds some interesting parallels to what Sailor Moon is going through. But guess who shows up and ruins it: "Evil" Endymion, who teams up with the Sailor Senshi yet again because of his own stupidity, all while Kunzite floats around watching and doing nothing because the writers have just given up on him, I guess. It's just such a damn waste!
"Usagi Devastated: Mamoru Declares a Break-Up"
One of the most notorious episodes in the anime. Mamoru has dreams of disaster befalling Usagi and a voice telling him this is the future if he stays with her, so he just breaks up with her without explaining his reasons. Worse still is that the excuse he gives, that being lovers in a past life doesn't mean they should be lovers now, is a fair point and could have been interesting to explore if it was said with any validity. But as it stands, it's the first of several episodes where we have the "joy" of watching Usagi cry and grovel before Mamoru as he acts cold and heartless toward her while inwardly bemoaning that he has to do so but it's for her own good. It's the subplot that understandably killed the Usagi/Mamoru ship for many.
"The Beach, the Island and a Vacation: The Guardians' Break"
Once again the title suggests something along the lines of "The Summer, the Beach, Youth and Ghosts", and this time the writers do actually make that attempt. But then we get three major strikes: the fact that more time is spent showing off the girls in bikinis than doing any story or character work, the main plot centering around Chibiusa befriending a baby dinosaur which just feels out of place for this series, and the battle the Sailor Senshi end up fighting being against....a volcano. Yes, a mundane, non-sentient, lava-spewing volcano. Yeesh!
"Awaken the Sleeping Beauty: Mamoru's Distress"
The break-up subplot returns to the forefront, and this might just be the worst episode to feature it, since Mamoru reaches new levels of douchiness by taking Motoki's younger sister for a ride on his motorcycle and actively trying to make Usagi believe that they're now a couple. His behavior toward Usagi has been bad enough, but actively using an innocent like Unazuki in an attempt to hurt Usagi ("for her own good", of course) is scummy beyond belief. And it poisons the following episode by depicting this kind of behavior as remotely justified.
"Magic of Darkness: Esmeraude's Invasion"
That image kind of says it all. Once again the writing staff's lone women turns out an astonishingly sexist episode, one where Esmeraude, the big badass villainess taking over from Rubeus, is treated as if she were one of the Ayakashi Sisters: setting up a hair-brained scheme on Earth, wearing a gaudy disguise, pigging out on sweets and getting publicly embarrassed over it, hitting on Tuxedo Mask even when that makes zero sense for her to do given her fixation on Prince Demande, and having her over-the-top laughter treated as something legit damaging to the Sailor Senshi as a gag. On her behalf, I am offended.
"Shared Feelings: Usagi and Mamoru in Love Once Again"
This episode at least finally ends the break-up subplot, but the subplot is still bad regardless of how it resolves itself and the fact that it's been allowed to go on this long is a testament to how badly series director Kunihiko Ikuhara wanted to taint Mamoru's character and his relationship with Usagi in the eyes of viewers since he personally didn't care for either.
"Venus Minako's Nurse Mayhem"
This episode is the start of Minako's Flanderization, and while it's far from the worst case of it, it's not the best either. She feels like she's her Codename Sailor V self and not her Sailor Venus self. It doesn't help that the episode continues degrading Esmeraude for laughs.
"Artemis' Adventure: The Monster Animal Kingdom"
See the above, but swap out "Minako" with "Artemis". These back-to-back episodes sucked.
"I Want to Quit Being a Sailor Guardian: Minako's Dilemma"
An even worse case of Minako regressing as a character. Struggling with her position as one of the Sailor Senshi and falling head over heels for a handsome teen volleyball star feels like it would come straight out of Codename Sailor V, but not out of Sailor Moon where Minako is the most firmly committed to the cause. It does her character such an incredible disservice.
"Shadow of Silence: The Pale Glimmer of a Firefly"
It's not your fault, Hotaru - it's the writers and director. Their decision to hold off on one of the Infinity arc's most pivotal characters, if not the most pivotal, until the back half and squeeze as much as they can into those episodes really hurts this one. As nice as Hotaru is, we still barely know her after only two episodes and all of a sudden the show is throwing all this shit about her at us and demanding that we be invested. Mimete is also starting to grate as an antagonist, as her shenanigans are completely out of tone with the rest of the episode.
"Sunny Skies After a Storm: A Friendship Dedicated to Hotaru"
Much like the episode with the Lake Yokai, this one has a good premise: a trip with Usagi, Mamoru and Chibiusa sounds fantastic since the three of them work well off each other. But Hotaru gets shoehorned in for no good reason because she's taken over the show due to its bad pacing, and then Mimete shows up with a scheme utilizing a plant-based Daimon. Hmmm, I dunno, don't we have another Witches 5 member who would be better suited for this plot? One who is all about plants? Remind me: why are we still stuck with Mimete!?
"Higher and Stronger: A Cheer from Usagi"
More shoving of Hotaru to the forefront, more of Mimete being an incompetent villain. Sigh.
"The Messiah of Silence Awakens? Stars of Destiny"
So we've known for some time now that Hotaru is the Messiah of Silence and now the characters learn it, but it's also discovered that she's Sailor Saturn too! That seems...backwards from how it was in the manga. But far worse than that is the Outer Senshi trying to murder Hotaru because...it's easier than just extracting the Messiah of Silence from her innocent host, and because they've heard spooky things about Sailor Saturn that have caused them bad dreams. Yeah, that's it. In the manga, the Outer Senshi seeking to kill Hotaru was nuanced and based upon valid reasoning. Here, they're just being assholes.
"A Heart-Snatching Demon Flower: Tellu, the Third Witch"
Oh look, there's Tellu! .......Well, bye! It was nice barely knowing you, I guess!
Seriously, this post sums it up better than I could.
"A New Life: Parting of the Stars of Destiny"
Here it is: Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune's big send-off. And how do they spend it? By attacking Usagi because even though she saved the world, she risked it to begin with....even though her risking it was literally the only reason it was saved. But they claim she's not "strong" enough to be a princess and leader because of her idealism...but once she kicks their asses, they say it was all just a test, even though they also seem to know she is the Messiah. The only way I can make sense of it is that they went in knowing full well how this would end, but did it anyway because they were that pissed off at Usagi and her idealism proving them and their edgelord cynicism blatantly wrong and wanted to let out steam by attacking her, with the whole "it was just a test, brah!" as their pre-prepared excuse to save face afterward. It's amazing how two characters I started out adoring get a send-off where all I can think is "finally; good fucking riddance". It's such shameful character assassination.
"A Guardian’s Realization: Strength Lies Within a Pure Heart"
This is the final episode of S and Sukehiro Tomita's last written episode, having already stepped down from the head writer position midway through S, and it's....the ending to the Black Moon arc of the manga. There's a Daimon thrown in for no good reason, but otherwise it's adapting the previous arc's conclusion at the end of this arc, and it just does not work. It only gets worse in hindsight: such a big emotional deal made out of Chibiusa "saying goodbye" except not really because she immediately comes back, only for her real goodbye to end up happening entirely off-screen. It makes one wish she really had been sent off here!
"The Perfect Couple: Usagi and Mamoru's Love"
A contender for perhaps the biggest lie of an episode title ever; we ain't forgetting that break-up arc, Ikuhara. But this episode doesn't harm Usagi or Mamoru...it's Chibiusa who is ruined here! Mamoru starts hanging out with a "mature woman" friend from college and while Usagi is unconcerned (don't worry, she'll backtrack on this attitude two episodes down this list!), Chibiusa becomes convinced Mamoru will choose her over the "immature" Usagi and thus she'll never be born, leading to a scene where she just viciously goes off on Usagi on how inferior she is to the other woman, to the point of even saying she wishes the other woman was her mother instead! Chibiusa would never fucking say this. Ugh, it's episodes like this in this series where I can totally get the hate she's historically received. Its only saving grace is of course the villains: French!Tiger's Eye and the unforgettable Phuku the Balloon Lady.
"Artemis is Cheating? Enter the Mysterious Kitten"
We spend the whole episode dealing with unfunny misunderstandings about Artemis being in love with a human woman or having fathered a child in an affair with another cat, with the end result being the introduction of their future child Diana...who should have been introduced back in the Black Moon arc and whose appearance here in the present is nonsensical. Look, writers, you missed your chance. Just accept that and don't even bother with Diana at all.
"Protect Mamoru: Ninja Usagi's Jealousy"
Remember how in the first series, Rei's antagonism toward Usagi could be carried too far? Oh how the tables have turned. Mamoru ends up forced to crash at Rei's temple for a few days, and Usagi goes absolutely ballistic, losing all faith in her boyfriend and best friend by being convinced Rei will try to steal Mamoru back since they dated a long time ago. She thus becomes "the Red Ninja of Love" who won't leave poor Rei alone. How am I supposed to buy into these relationships when Usagi is like this even after all they've been through together?
"Aiming for the Top: The Pretty Swordswoman's Dilemma"
Sometimes, child abuse can be justified!
Yeah, that's it. That's the episode. Moving on...
"Believe in Pegasus: The Four Guardians' Super Transformation"
One of SuperS' biggest problems is that all of the Sailor Senshi's powers have been stripped away from them and, rather than get them back on their own like in the manga, they have to rely on Pegasus to dole them out. This episode is just rubbing the viewer's face in this fact, showing how the Senshi are useless unless they "believe" in this goddamn horse. Once again the villains manage to make something out of what is otherwise an infuriating episode.
"Become a Prima: Usagi's Ballet"
At first glance, there isn't much separating this episode from any of the other formulaic episodes in SuperS. But there is one major problem with this one: Fish Eye gets robbed. We're supposed to be happy about the conclusion the characters-of-the-day arrive at, but every word of what Fish Eye says about it is true! Fish Eye is clearly the better dancer, the guy was using her if he insisted on personally practicing with her all while "neglecting to mention" that he never intended on casting anyone but his love interest in the lead role, and the logic behind his decision making is a bunch of pretentious garbage simply used to justify his personal bias and favoritism. Fish Eye did nothing wrong here, but we're supposed to cheer her unjust personal defeat because she's the villain. Yeah, no. Fuck that asshole!
"Clash of Dreams: Minako and Makoto's Broken Friendship"
An episode about Minako and Makoto clashing was already done and done better back in R. That they're clashing so childishly now is once again showing how much of a disservice is being done to the characters and the relationships they've built. It's particularly bad here because it's not over differing philosophies like before, but over a guy. No...just no. Once again the villains, in this case the Amazoness Quartet, are the only thing that's worthwhile.
"Pegasus Disappears: Wavering Friendship"
So it's bad enough that the Senshi can't get by without Pegasus in SuperS. But now we have Chibiusa confronting him on how he's needlessly not given much information about himself and his situation, and rather than depict Pegasus as in the wrong for this, Chibiusa is shamed for "not believing" in him, as if friendship that's a one-way street is totally fine and that she should just let this guy keep his secrets while remaining an open book to him emotionally. This is such a bad and downright creepy message to send. Helios, the anime did you dirty.

The ability to read women's minds from the movie What Women Want, except the ability to "read women's minds" is better.
Little girl? 9-13 yo? Not exactly a woman. Young woman, maybe. Can you read her mind? Depends entirely on how they see themselves.
The moon? 100% she's loud and it makes I hard for you to sleep at night.
Sailing vessels? Most of them are women. They terrify you with their eldritch thoughts and accounts of the deep.
Trans women? Absolutely. But you can keep it to yourself if they're not open about it yet.
Trans guys? Nope.
Gender fluid folks? Sounds like TV static with a few occasional words when they feel like it.
Animals? Nah. And I specify this because the original movie goes out of its way to say yes on this and I don't like it.
Homosexual folks? Nope. Not unless they're women.
Drag kings and queens? If they want.
Someone playing a woman in a stage play regardless of gender? Yeah, sure. But you just hear the script.
The ocean? Only if you're a sailor.
Etc.

Villainous Review
Villainous, also known as Villanos, is animated series which mixes the science fantasy, morbid humor, and comedy horror genres. Alan Ituriel, a veteran of the Mexican animation industry, is the series creator. This series is produced by Ituriel's A.I. Animation Studios and Cartoon Network. Humberto Cervera and Mayte Sanz are also executive producers. There will be spoilers.
Reprinted from Pop Culture Maniacs and Wayback Machine. This was the thirty-third article I wrote for Pop Culture Maniacs. This post was originally published on May 26, 2023.
This series flips the script often employed in superhero fiction such as Masters of the Universe: Revelation, Tokyo Mew Mew (and the reboot), Sailor Moon, Sailor Moon Crystal, Vixen, and Young Justice. It focuses on the Black Hat Organization, run by the villainous Black Hat (voiced by Ituriel). He is assisted by his team of three aides: Dr. Flug (voiced by Yian Riuz), Demencia (voiced by Cindy Eliz Pérez), and 5.0.5. (voiced by Mark Fischbach). They are contracted by other villains to "solve" their problems with heroes, either directly or indirectly, or sell inventions created by Dr. Flug. Their plans often go awry with comical and absurd consequences.
Villainous has garnered a massive following since the first webisodes premiered in 2012, followed by efforts by Ituriel to pitch the series to Cartoon Network. This resulted in the pilot airing in June 2019. The series had a backdoor pilot in the Season Two Victor and Valentino episode "Villainy In Monte Macabre", in October 2020. There were 29 shorts featuring the same characters, which aired from May 2017 to February 2019 on the Cartoon Network Latin America YouTube channel. Even one "episode" was released which consisted of the creators rick-rolling the show's fans.
Some have posted their own dubs of the show's six episodes, which were released in Spanish language in October 2021, on HBO Max LA, and other content. Their recent, and official, release as part of "Season 1a" on the newly renamed "Max" streaming service (formerly known as "HBO Max"), makes them more accessible to new and old fans alike.
The first episode of Villainous sets the tone. A superhero named Sunblast (voiced by Roly Gutiérrez) beats up a villain, Penumbra (voiced by Rebecca Manriquez), because his new punching bag hasn't been delivered. It is also a good introduction to each of the characters: a nervous and nerdy scientist in his 20s named Dr. Flug who wears a paper bag over his head, a green-haired mischief-loving fan of Black Hat named Demencia, and a big blue bear named 5.0.5. The latter is a contradiction, as he was intended to be evil, but is very loving, and likes hugging people. He also serves as the housekeeper-of-sorts of the Black Hat Organization (BHO).
Even from the first episode you can somewhat sympathize with these villains, despite their trapping of Sunblast in a jar, punching Ringworm (voiced by Sean Davis) into submission, and dropping heroes in pits without a second thought. This sympathy is clear when the three protagonists are yelled at by Black Hat for doing a "mediocre" job. One character in particular, Dr. Flug, is scared of his boss (Black Hat), ghosts like Emilia (voiced by Jackie Rodriguez), wrestlers, and almost being killed by heroes.
I liked how the series mixes humor with violence and "course language". For instance, a group of kids, based on Scooby-Doo protagonists, are scared off by a possessed fence. Later, the unstoppable Bulldozer (voiced by David Steel) attempts to destroy the Outlaw House (voiced by Alex Texeira). He is stopped by 5.0.5., as bears terrify him after one bit him years ago.
Sometimes this comedy is continued during the episode credits. In the episode 2 credits, Bulldozer ends up in the cave house of the three protagonists of We Bare Bears (Grizzly, Panda, and Ice Bear), another CN series. In the credits of the fourth episode, the heroic Airlock (voiced by Jinon Deebs), a short-haired White woman, is eaten by a space monster. This is after she escaped the show's protagonists because she found them as very "annoying".
This brings me to another part which I enjoy about Villainous: crossovers with other series. The third episode, reportedly a homage to the Mexican wrestling films of the 1960s, features characters from Victor and Valentino and Helluva Boss in the stands. A few episodes later, Johnny Bravo, from the series of the same name, is a background character, while the robotic lawyers for Black Hat bring plagiarism cases against characters from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.
That same episode also features Harvey Birdman from the Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law, and characters from Grim and Evil like Hector Con Carne. Again, these are all CN series, which makes the crossovers all the more interesting.
youtube
In the third episode of Villainous, the three protagonists are tasked at eliminating a luchador named El Valiente (voiced by Jose Aparicio) by their client, Adelita Guerrero (voiced by Margarita Coego). It reminds me of three series: Carmen Sandiego, Elena of Avalor and Victor and Valentino.
In the latter two, there are episodes in which the protagonists, or supporting characters, are possessed by a mask, like Mascara Macabra (voiced by Aparicio) in this series, or another individual. As for Carmen Sandiego, the Season Three opening episode features Carmen attending a wrestling match in hopes of finding her mother.
The characters of Villainous become even more relatable in the last couple episodes. In the fourth episode, Dr. Flug's favorite series is spoiled by a sassy A.I. named V.I.R.U.S. (voiced by Sean Davis). Even worse, 5.0.5. is horrified when Black Hat ruins a children's show, almost akin to the Teletubbies. It becomes horrific after Black Hat causes the Sun to light the bears on fire.
The series pokes fun at itself. In one episode, the copycats/doppelgangers claim they are BHO in order to rake in profits for themselves. This is better executed than the "Pirates" episode of Cleopatra in Space, as each of the protagonists comes across a "stronger" version of themselves. Hilariously, and sadly, 5.0.5.'s counterpart is just a cactus. In that same episode, I liked how Dr. Flug blatantly interrupts the "origin story" of the other version of Black Hat, annoying him to no end.
The final episode of Villainous ends the series on bang. It focuses on a self-absorbed social media influencer named Miss Heed (voiced by Katherine Clavelo), who Dr. Flug knew when he went to the academy. She is far worse than those depicted in the first season of The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, or the currently airing Kizuna no Allele.
In fact, Heed has a special concoction she sprays on the city residents to make them love her. In an indictment of such influencers, also known as internet personalities or internet celebrities, and their power, Dr. Flug is able to take her down, with the assistance of Demencia. His kiss with her, is streamed and goes viral. It causes all of her zombie "fans" to fall out of love with her.
While some series would have stopped there, Villainous goes the extra step. Heed is pushed into a vat of her own liquid, ending her plan to be the "most-loved" hero. She is locked up in a maximum security prison. Fitting with her personality, she falls off her rocker, and demands that people need to love her. In one of the best scenes in the series, Flug, after learning about Goldheart's plan to eliminate all villains, tells Heed that she needs to love herself first (i.e. self-love) before she can love anyone else.
The entire sequence, at first, appears to reinforce retributive justice paradigms. The latter involves punishment being imposed unilaterally, no option for remorse, and crime in the domain of the state. This is interlinked with the narrative that violence is justified as long as it is directed at those deemed as "evil". It further involves heroes in league with the criminal system and has an assumption that villains cannot be rehabilitated. On the other hand, Villainous turns this around, as Heed is a hero and Flug is a villain, meaning that a "hero" is being locked away for something a "villain" would do.
While Flug's kiss is a one-off interaction, Demencia's romantic obsession with Black Hat spans the series. She believes that her romantic feelings will be reciprocated, but he likely doesn't care much about her. However, her love saves her from Heed's concoction, as she only has love for him. More than anything, Demencia is an obsessed fan. Perhaps her character is symbolic of out-of-control fans which feel the same way about public figures, to the detriment of themselves and those personalities.
All in all, this series has many similarities to Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel, especially the former. BHO somewhat resembles I.M.P. (Immediate Murder Professionals). The latter is contracted by demons in hell to assassinate people in the world of the living. The difference is that BHO specifically focuses on heroes and is only contracted by villains.
youtube
The last episode of Villainous, at present, lays the groundwork for future episodes. Goldheart (voiced by Oliver Roberts) seems to know Dr. Flug, declaring "Flug, what did you do now?" The efforts of BHO to counter him could be an important storyline.
A possible second season, might not follow a serialized format. The six current episodes have the same characters, but are not, serialized. Each episode could stand on its own. This does not diminish the series, however.
The voice actors for this series stand out. Apart from Ituriel, Yian Riuz, Cindy Eliz Pérez, and Mark Fischbach, who voice the protagonists, are all talented. Fischbach is a well-known YouTuber, with this as his first voice role. In contrast, Pérez previously played a character in BoBoiBoy Elemental Heroes, and Riuz in Mashed!
Similarly, Sahid Pabon, Roly Gutiérrez, Connie Fernandez, Yenni Ann, Guia Burns, and Jason Kessler, who voice villains, wrestlers, henchmen, and others in the series, are equally talented. They have lent their voices to characters in Monkey King Reborn, Legend Quest, Gintama, Leo De Vinci, Rainbow High, Kageki Shojo!!, and Kemono Friends.
This is also the case for the Spanish-language voice actors, such as José Antonio Macías, Melissa Gedeón, Lourdes Arruti, and Diego Valenzuela. They have voiced characters in video games, animated shorts, and productions such as Guardians of Oz, and Top Cat.
The producers of Villainous worked on The Flying Machine, Hua Se, Frankelda's Book of Spooks, Pucca, Pandalian, Eden, Tonikawa: Over the Moon for You, and Xi you ji. Kevin Manthei, the music composer, worked on Ben 10, Spider-Man, Robot Chicken, Ultimate Spider-Man, Polly Pocket, Hanny Manny, Invader Zim, and Generator Rex.
Other than the amazing dubbing by VOA Studios, in Miami, the show's crew includes alums from many series. This includes Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, Dota: Dragon's Blood, Black Dynamite, Legend of Korra, OK K.O. Let's Be Heroes!, Danger House, Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law, and Scan2Go.
Villainous is more than a series with humor reminiscent of 1990s cartoons. It has themes about overcoming your inner demons and lampoons popular Cartoon Network series. This is accompanied by entertaining characters, which have intriguing dynamics and comraderie within the BHO, wonderful animation, character design, artwork, and creativity. What other series has villains traveling to their destination in a flying hat spewing smoke?
I haven't watched enough Invader Zim or The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy to say if Villainous is like those series. However, each character is interesting enough and the story is engaging that Villainous could run for many seasons. If Helluva Boss has aired 12 episodes, why can't Villainous do the same? Perhaps the cast could become even more diverse and LGBTQ characters could be added. The latter would further enhance the series.
Unfortunately, Villainous comes at a time of extreme flux at Max's parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery. This includes an error causing writers, directors, and creators to all be lumped together into one category. There has been an awful rollout of the "Max" streaming service, in an inane effort to "attract" families.
This comes after the cruel content purge at HBO Max, former name for the service. It resulted in the removal of Infinity Train, Mighty Magiswords, Uncle Grandpa, Final Space, and Close Enough. None of them have been re-added to Max. The content purge on Hulu, and on Max, was discussed in a PCM podcast on May 22nd.
Despite the shenanigans of the corporate executives, I am hopeful that Villainous will be continued with additional episodes. All in all, I highly recommend Villainous as a series to watch.
Villainous is currently streaming on Max.

Oshi No Ko Episode 12 Review - Season 2 Is Here
Is it okay for me to review the second season of Oshi no Ko despite me not reviewing the show episodically last year? I have a whole review of the first season, which you can click here. I think it’s okay for me to review it episodically, right? Right?
Oshi no Ko isn’t the most perfect show, but I still like it because it gives a lot of insight to the Japanese entertainment industry, even if it doesn’t do it all that well. Season 1 showed off a glimpse of the idol industry and even how the acting industry goes. For Season 2, it dives right into another big part of an entertainment industry: stage plays. Given that stage plays are super popular in Japan right now, I think a good dive into what they’re like is good for those unfamiliar with the industry like me! They have their own production rules and customs, so it’s interesting to see how different the industry is from film acting.
Because they’re essentially plays, good acting is necessary, hence why up and coming stars of Lala Lai and other rising stars are casted—Aqua is casted too! While it’s nice to see them rehearsing for their roles, I would’ve liked to see them audition for the roles, but I guess I’m asking for too much.
I think what caught my attention the most is the fact it tells a rather cruel truth about adaptations: they will never be faithful and that sometimes, adaptations are more marketing tactics that promote the original source material. Sometimes, characters or scenes must be sacrificed for time constraints. It sucks because I’ve seen adaptations where they butcher a scene or character so bad. Look at the 90’s Sailor Moon. I’m sure some manga fans absolutely hate how Ikuhara changed Rei from stoic and wary of men to being boy-crazy and tsundere. Heck, I’ve seen some Demon Slayer fans upset that Zenitsu’s portrayal is very exaggerated compared to how he is written in the manga with some scenes with him and Nezuko getting cut out too. So, I get Akane’s frustrations with a loose adaptation of the source material. I’m sure that there are those who want to see their favorite characters be portrayed with how they’re supposed to be and not a shadow of their former selves. I’m not surprised that Abiko-sensei wanted to change the entire script because it would hurt to have your babies be butchered—like how Kichijouji-sensei suffered from the terrible adaptation of Sweet Today.
There’s also an introduction to a lot of new characters in addition to returning cast. Other than Aqua, Kana, Akane, Melt and Kichijouji-sensei, there’s Taiki Himekawa, the star of Lala Lai, who plays the MC Blade. There’s Sakuya who plays the green guy. There’s also GOA, a scriptwriter and Kindaichi. To be honest, I hope I can keep up with who is who. Oh, and there’s Ruby, but she only appears briefly and is not that important right now.
What I like is that the visuals have improved because the episode likes to show off the visuals of the characters that the actors will play. The acting with Taiki and Kana was really good because it shows that acting is important in a stage play and that good actors need to keep up with each other. However, I do feel bad for Akane in the sense that her role doesn’t allow her to shine as she’s a method actor and Princess Saya’s role is a small one.
I guess my only gripe is the first 3-5 minutes of introducing Tokyo Blade. Was that necessary? I get that the visuals are nice, but all it did was introduce the characters and actors, whom you can see in the middle. Is that a part of stage play culture or is it just Daga Kobo flexing?
The opening visuals are pretty nice! The song may be a bit of a downgrade from YOASOBI’s Idol, but it’s still pretty catchy. I love the visuals from how Aqua and Ruby take off their ‘masks’ to reveal their past selves, Goro and Sarina.
Anyways, I’m excited to see what this arc has to offer! I also hope there will be more Aqua screen time because I am an Aqua fan—I don’t care what you think of me. I like Aqua! I want him to find what he needs to in this arc! Other than me gushing over Aqua, I do think this was a good introduction to the Tokyo Blade arc. What are your thoughts on the second season?

Ami Mizuno my beloved
Check out the read more for the original screencap and some of my thoughts!
I wanted to do some practice in the art style of my upcoming Sailor Moon fan-project, so I redrew a screencap of Ami!
(Don’t worry, that project isn’t cancelled! It’s just post-pined until around December due to college. I’ll be uploading the scripts to AO3 early though!)
I’m hoping to work on this art style some more and get some character sheets done before December! Script writing is also going really well.
Also, small note: My version of Ami is blasian!
