sneak-peak passage (part 2):

“Long time no see.” Sam jokes to his older brother. 

“Awe, did you miss me?” Dean gives Sam a playful shove as the group follows the brick walkway toward the door.  

Sam staggers with his gangly legs, hardly missing out on bumping into a bundle of planted black-eyed Susan. Under his breath, he mumbles curse words as he regains his balance. Suddenly, a hand reaches out to steady his left arm belonging to Eileen. Sam’s eyes crinkle under the weight of his smile, signs a quick ‘Thank you’, and leans down to kiss her forehead. 

The front door flings open before anyone has the chance to knock. 

“Deano, you haven’t changed one bit!” Al pulls Dean in and crushes him into a hug. “Sammy!—” He pulls away from the embrace and grabs the taller man with a similar gesture. “Hello, everyone! Please come on in!”

They walk single-file through a narrow hallway, the walls filled with framed photographs and handmade paintings, leading directly into the kitchen doorway. Two women sit at a touch kitchen table with coffee cups in their hands, their heads turning in sync when the group enters the room. 

With a wide grin, Al holds his hand out toward the table. “Winchesters’—meet my ride-or-dies, Augustine D’Angelo—”

A woman with leopard print glasses waves. “Teenie, please—”

“—and Catherine Lawson.”

The other woman dressed in scrubs smiles. “Kitty—welcome to our humble abode! You all must be exhausted. Can I offer anyone something to eat or drink? We just finished dinner.”

Summary: Dean gets to spend eternity sharing beers with Bobby on the Roadhouse porch and riding around in his Baby with Sam. He’s at peace… or he feels like he should be. But a few things nag at him: Where is Cas, and everybody else Dean had been hoping to see in Heaven? Why does he feel like he’s stuck in a loop, reliving the same memories over and over again? And who are the strangers wearing Sam’s and Bobby’s faces?

Preview: “We’re in Heaven,” Sam says, sounding awestruck.

“Yeah, man,” Dean agrees. “I haven’t even been here that long, but I met Bobby a little while back. At the Roadhouse, can you imagine?” He hitches on a grin, hoping it’ll dispel the lingering feeling of wrong in his gut. “The Roadhouse is up here.”

“Awesome,” Sam says. “Let’s go. I wanna see.”

Dean’s a little tired of driving by now, but he doesn’t say that. Sam wants to see the Roadhouse, see Bobby, and Dean’s never been able to refuse his little brother anything. So he gets back in the driver’s seat, and “Carry On Wayward Son” comes on the radio. Dean moves to turn it off, but Sam arrests his motion, fingers curling around Dean’s wrist.

“Don’t,” he says, teeth showing in a big grin. “I love this song.”

Reluctantly, Dean nods, and he starts to drive. This time, it takes them mere moments to make it back to the clearing where the Roadhouse sits. Dean could swear it took longer than this to get to the bridge, but it’s hard to tell. And, like Bobby said, time up here is different.

Speaking of Bobby, he’s gone from his chair on the porch.“Huh,” Dean says as he slides out of his seat, pushing Baby’s door closed. The hinges don’t creak. Maybe that’s another thing Jack fixed for him. “Bobby was here earlier. Guess he went inside. Let’s go see.”

He starts walking, and then Sam is there, hand clamped on Dean’s shoulder. Dean could swear he was several paces behind just a second ago.“No need, man,” Sam says, his smile bigger than ever. “Let’s just sit on the porch, have a beer. Then we can drive some more.”

Dean fights the urge to shake off his brother’s hand. That sense of wrong is creeping up on him again. “No, that’s alright. I just wanna go inside. See who’s there, you know? Haven’t really had a chance to say hi to anyone except you and Bobby.”

Maybe Cas is waiting there for me.

Dean keeps walking, Sam’s hand sliding off him. The Roadhouse seems further away than it did a moment ago, but it’s probably Dean’s mind playing tricks, or another bit of weirdness about Heaven. If time is different, space might be too, right?

He steps onto the porch, loose board creaking under his feet.

Wasn’t that board somewhere different before?

2. Castiel is looking for a job after graduating with a degree in business. Dean is the CEO of a corporation and his executive assistant just quit. Dean also helps his friend Charlie at her strip club sometimes, if one of her dancers calls out. Castiel's friends take him out to the strip club one night to congratulate him on his new job, and Dean ends up giving him a lap dance. They have an instant connection, and exchange numbers after the dance. Come Monday morning, they discover that Castiel's new job... is as Dean's new assistant.    (No credit)        

3. Dean is an assassin for hire who is convinced that he's hidden his occupation from Cas, his husband of twelve years. All Ships:

1. Character A is bored with their life. They've had no luck in love, a job they hate, and are looking for a way out. A relative they've never heard of dies, leaving Character A as the sole beneficiary of their will - including a little garlic bread shop in a remote, but beautiful, village. It takes time to warm up to the new life, to find out what's important, but meeting Character B helps put things in perspective. They clash at first, but eventually A and B fall in love. As they do, A discovers that the village is plagued with vampires, and the late relative was the last in a long line of vampire hunters. Can A find true love, keep the world safe from vampires, AND manage not to burn the garlic bread?    (No credit)

2. A young villain tries to mug Character A, but when he sees their face, he flees in terror. Upon further investigation, Character A finds out that their high school sweetheart, Character B, is now the most powerful villain in the world - and that they've got Chracter A on their "'Do Not Harm Or Else' list."    (No credit)

3. Character A wakes up to find that they drunkenly got married to Character B in Vegas. Whether they knew each other already or are complete strangers is up to you. While trying to get a divorce/annulment, one or both of them realize that maybe they don't want to end the marriage after all. New Supernatural take!

I want a Supernatural fic where we get Sam and Dean to compete against each other, why are they competing you ask? They are competing about who is the better partner.

Like imagine Dean asking Cas to marry him with a romantic dinner (hamburguers on cute bee plates) on a meadow under the moon, so Eileen makes a coment about it, nothing explicit just something of the lines of look how cute they are and Sam going like hell no, I am the cute one. So he decides to one up his already carefully planned proposal by making a reservation in Eileens favorite restaurant with her favorite meal and ordering one of every dessert. Eileen of course says yes and there is that

But then the four of them go to the county fair and Dean wins Cas a bee plushie and Sam rebutts by getting the highest price to Eileen (a big teddy bear) And things like that, Dean invites Cas to the movies, Sam invites Eileen to the theather, Dean and Cas go to a concert, Sam gets VIP tickets

Bonus points if Dean is completely oblivious of what is happening. Cas and Eileen know though, and they keep egging the brothers on, because they have a bet of when would Sam realize that Dean has no idea they are competing. So they both go about their days with Cas being like "Oh I heard there is a new penguin exhibition in the zoo, I love penguins" to Dean, and Dean being like guess we are going to the zoo. And of course Eileen goes to Sam, with Did you hear Dean adopted a penguin in the Name a penguin program? Isnt that wholesome? and Sam almost goes balistic and tries to ship a penguin to the Bunker as a surprise gift

Double bonus point if Dean catches on early, and decides to fuel the fire, without anyone else knowing

Cat in the Trenchcoat - Chapter 2

I get the feeling Jack and Castiel's redone heaven is a very different thing, besides no walls...

Like, it gives you thing's you want right?

So Dean of course wants Sam so even though it didn't seem like a long drive at a simple bridge stop, Sam's there.

Cas and Dean meet up soon after as well. It's not totally clear what happens between them, but they are running bar together shortly after and have their own house. It's odder when Benny, who was pretty sure he was morosely wandering Purgatory, a tiny amazon child in tow, then their walking out of the endless woods and come upon a bar. Dean's smile is radiant when he see's Benny, and so many things when he see's little Emma. In short order Benny has a spot behind the bar beside Dean while Castiel entertain's Emma with colorful drink parasols. (Jack show's up because he wishes to meet one of his siblings.)

Dean is somehow not surprised when Sam show's up with (he mocks delightedly) a vertaible harem. Madison apparently knows asl a bit and she and Eileen haven't stopped signing yet (Castiel joins in) Jess and Sam keeping giving eachother goopy eyes while Amy and Gabriel chat verbally. (Sam admits he already got to see Sarah, but that obvoiously her husband and daughter are with her.) Dean wonders if it's very selfish of him to be glad Sam's Amelia is nowhere to be seen.

Amy never speaks to him or acknowledges his existance. He accepts that as his jus deserts.

He isn't upset, like he thought he might be when Hannah comes in. (He does make a face at Balthazar but Bathazar makes a face right back so he thinks that's cool)

Jimmy and Amelia show up, and Cas, Sam, and Dean are happy to regale the two of all they know of Claire's life and accomplishments. Sam being the most recently dead knows the most. He and Jimmy get especially soppy over memories (and pictures) of Claire and Kaia's wedding.

Time probably passes. Dean, Benny, Cas, Balthazar and Hannah, little Emma in tow go home and return. They go on walks and drives. Sometimes he and Sam get together for a "just us drive". Sometimes Adam comes with. It's...slow going, but Dean and Sam try and Adam tries...Adam becomes much, much happier when a morose and apologetic Michael shows up. Dean figures he can't throw stones about ones eternal partner...(but he really wants to) (granted he also wishes Gabriel would stop with the eyebrows. He doesn't care if Sam is technically and old man...that is his baby brother why are those eyebrows waggling!) (Lenore who has also come by, her own bar coming into being directly across the street from Dean's, does the same thing. Sam looks delighted and helpess at all his loves. Lenore is a love he didn't even ever consider...but she's hear now and Dean whines because he was the brother with the vampire significant other...Sam's just copying him...) (This doesn't stop him from teaming up with the former trickster for an epic prank war.)

Henricksen makes his way to the bar. Along with sweet Nancy. Dean actually squeaks a bit when Benny gestures her behind the bar. He thinks he feels something like twelve with his first crush with her. It's something so very new and he thinks he likes it. Henricksen "I think you can call me Victor these days" drops by every now and then. He's on Dean's team for the prank war. (Nancy and Hannah get along great)

Dean, Sam (and Adam once he's introduced) are giddy when Henry Winchester arrives.

The real Meg Masters comes in at one point. Sam and Dean thank her again for trying with her last breaths to help them, she tries to aplogize for her angry ghost self but gives up with a happy laugh when they stick their fingers in their ears and sing until she stops. She has nothing to ever apologize for.

John and Mary come in...things are strained between them all. A lot of hurt...a lot of disappointment clouds their interactions. Emma tries to bite John's ankle.

Ash opts to live part time and the roadhouse and part time at Dean's bar, which mysteriously named itself Thursday's Child at some point. Dean also obediently goes to visit the roadhouse at Ellen and Jo's demand. Jo never work's at Dean's bar...but she does eventually make her way home with him and the rest. (Sam points out that he can't mock his number of significant other's anymore.)

Andy Gallagher, when he shows up, shepherding a scowly blonde goth girl and a sweet looking girl in front of him, zeroes in on Sam. He becomes Lenore's bar's resident "guy who sleeps on tables" but often follows Sam home. Lily (who made Sam look like he wanted to cry until the girl awkwardly kicked his shin and told him he tried and it wasn't his fault) and her girlsfriend mostly hang out at Lenore's when they pass through.

One person who goes to Sam's house, not the bar is Barry, the boy Sam had been friends with at Truman, not looking much older than when they were there. It's heartbreaking to think on. Sam does cry, when Barry knocks on his door one day. Interestingly enough, when he heads out to spend time with his friend...Sam is a child again for that time.

One day, when Dean takes a walk alone, he meets a young man. He knows him. Amy Pond's son. Dean accepts his earned censure and if Amy and he are with Sam, Dean know's he won't be seeing his brother that day.

Crowley, really, Fergus Macleod, shows up. He's on a bit of a time share with hell, he can't always be in heaven, his past as a demon being a bit problematic, but gets visiting rights.

More people come, Claire and Kaia, Garth (Dean no longer has any reservations about hugging Garth). Bess, Gertie, Little Cas and Littler Sam, Little Dean...a variety of folks that the winchesters or other's they know drop in and out. It's often busy and crowded and Dean is never truly alone.

It's Heaven.

After sharing a mutual laugh, they sit listening to the song playing quietly through the radio, letting themselves drift off into their little worlds. Dolly Parton’s syrupy sweet voice flowed between them, melding in with the sound of the engine rumbling underneath.

Taking his eyes away from staring at the scenery out the window, Cas looks down towards the console and reaches for Dean's hand resting on the gearshift. He threads their fingers together with a gentle squeeze before leaning back to his original spot, a smile toying on his lips. 

While keeping his eyes on the road, Dean pulls up his hand and brings Cas’ along with it, giving the back a soft kiss. He squeezes the hand before letting his arm fall onto his thigh, their fingers still entwined. 

“When a flower grows wild, it can always survive...”

“Hm, what did you say?” Cas questions, slightly dazed from the lull of the trip, tilting his head up from leaning comfortably against the headrest.

“Just lyrics from the song. Made me think of us.”

Cas squints his eyes. “How so?” 

“We’ve gone through so much.” Dean starts tentatively. “More than I think we’ll ever begin to comprehend. Same thing with our love too. It’s grown throughout the years—surviving the worst and flourishing under any condition, proving we’re meant to be together.”

What do you do when you find out you can no longer hear anything around you? You torment your younger brother because you can no longer lose arguments. 

Sleeping Beauties

Exam season is hitting everyone hars, Sam’s not even an acquaintance with sleep anymore. They’re strangers. However, even through his foggy state he can focus on the important things like Jess. That alone had him running to get home.

Extracurricular Activities

Dean tricks Sam and Cas into wearing matching costumes and hopes to kick them out of the bunker for the night. Her plan did not go quite as she expected.

Lonely

Kenji and Darius know each other too well to believe each other’s lies but if they call each other out they’d have to confront their emotions and it’s late, who has time for that?

Keeping Up With Jack 

Everyone is being interviewed about their experiences with Jack. And everyone has interesting stories to tell.

No Escape

Sam can’t handle the forced detox, she knows her time is running out. But she’s not the only one and Castiel can’t sit back and watch any longer. 

Piling On

Superheroes aren’t born in a day, they don’t have all the right answers. Or decisions. Which is why Peter didn’t think too much about the consequences of falling asleep underneath rubble. 

Taking It As A Sign

Dean is a big supportive brother who needs to harp on his younger brother for signing, “Fuck you,” to a pretty girl despite signing all the time. Sam didn’t want to hear it but Dean makes sure he does.

Cat Like Instincts

Magda, Jack, and Elijah find a cat on a walk and decide to bring it home. Dean senses the kids are up to something and wants to prove it despite Sam and Castiel’s wishes not to. 

Morning Chaos

Jack is vlogging a typical morning of course chaos ensues. 

Something About Cars and Such

Dean believes Cas has an addiction to car washes, Castiel disagrees. They’re addicted to something, but it isn’t car washes, it’s something much sweeter and taller. 

Brought Together

A twist on there was only one bed, in fact there were two, but magic kept them from being able to be on different beds. 

Peter Did Not Have It In The Bag

Peter has the brilliant idea to dress up as Spider-Man for a Halloween party. It doesn’t pan out how Peter thought it was going to. 

Superheroes

Dean is rounding everyone up to go trick or treating; cracking jokes the entire time. He may have been the only one laughing, but at least someone was cracking up. 

We’re All In This Together

Dean is curious about Eileen’s Halloween costume and all Hell breaks loose after that. 

Oh How The Corruption Spreads

Castiel is reflecting on Sam’s fate, and needs to do something about it.

Treat or Treat

Dean is not a fan of Castiel and Sam’s version of trick or treat. And runs to Eileen for help. 

Cold Feet

Castiel is human and learning how to navigate their new life as one. Sam is very helpful, but there are some bits that are impossible for Castiel.

Humoring

Dean finds it very funny to throw the most crude jokes at Castiel to see their reaction, but seems to forget, Castiel has a sense of humor too. 

Quality Time Together

Dean misses his brother, but it’s not Sam or Adam. Castiel is a little shit about it though.

Confessions

Castiel goes to Dean for advice and questions the actuality of getting good advice.

Will You?

Castiel turns to Sam for help with the Empty, and is still surprised by Sam’s determination.

The Day We Met

Dean isn’t sure why the Hell Castiel likes Halloween so much until he finally just asks the angel. The answer isn’t all that surprising.
