2023 TV Tracker
Part 1
Crash Course in Romance
I really enjoyed the main characters romance as well as the kids at school's plot lines and the slice-of-life aspects of this drama, however I felt like the random mystery/thriller side plot took away from the story. It was not well developed or interesting enough to keep my attention.
The Glory Part 2
I enjoyed this show. Personally, this was not my favourite revenge show as I thought that overall the revenge in Taxi Driver was far more cathartic, but I liked how the revenge was delivered smartly in a way that it can't be traced back to Dong Eun. I felt like the idea of her spending her time to 'set the stage' and let the group ruin one another was very well done. Not sure how interested I am in watching more about the doctor's revenge tbh. Personally I think that Yun Jin's actress was absolutely amazing and stole the show imo.
Nemesis (2021)
This is a fun and light comedy/ detective drama that was recommended to me by my sister. I am enjoying it so far!
Mob Psycho season 3
Our Dating Sim
A very simple concept with near perfect execution! Loved it!
Cool Doji Danshi
I love it here! So cute! So relatable, the friendships are so heart-warming. Perfect show, only qualm I have is that there isn't more.
Call It Love
I really enjoyed this slow burn show and the various concepts its explored and I think that the message of this show was very valid - revenge does not always alleviate your pain. I liked how this show was more slice-of-life and really enjoyed how kindness wins in the end.

Movies Watched '22
Queenpins
Started off the year strong with an excellent movie! This movie was so much fun to watch these ladies rip off the corporations through fraudulently manufacturing coupons and selling them for a profit. It was absolutely hilarious that to 'clean up' their black money they just bought luxury goods and guns to find out that their money was already clean. A very fun movie, and the best touch was the long-haired cashier who absolutely hated Kristen Bell.
Minnal Murali
This was an utterly charming Malyali superhero movie! Ton of fun!
Mitchells vs The Machines
This was such a fun movie! I really enjoyed this family's adventures. I loved the main character's little brother, their relationship was so adorable! It was hilarious that the two robots just declared themselves as adopted members of the family and just continued to live with them.
Encanto
This was a great movie musical with an interesting plot and complicated characters. Very well executed, and a very enjoyable watch overall! The reconciliation scene was so heart wrenching. A simple but effective story.
Stardust
I thought that this was a sci-fi movie from the title, but I was surprised as this was a pure fantasy movie. I really enjoyed watching this movie - I can't believe I haven't even heard about it when it was initially released, but even after 15 years it holds up really well! I love that the crazy king just straight up killed his own son - the absolute savagery of it. The ghosts watching and commenting was hilarious! No wonder it has a cult following! Robert De Niro stole all his scenes! Easily one of my favourite pirates of all time! Also, I wish people mentioned just how similar the movie is to Princess Bride. I only regret not watching it sooner!
The Adam Project
A very enjoyable movie. The child actor did a phenomenal job. Had a ton of fun with this movie! Can't believe Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo were finally reunited.
Turning Red
This was a fun movie, but it didn't leave a lasting impression on me. I did appreciate the beautiful animation but the story didn't resonate with me personally.
Wedding Crashers
Watched this randomly and it was okay.
The Batman
Finally ended up watching this movie, and I really enjoyed a more detective Batman story. I was really excited to see The Riddler on the big screen. I felt how much the movie was inspired by Year One, Long Halloween and the Arkham series of video games in the aesthetic of the city and the relationship between Catwoman and Batman. I like the overall message of the story, and while I don't think this movie was perfect, I am looking forward to seeing more stories like this from Matt Reeves. Personally, I am sick of seeing The Joker on screen and hope they come up with different storylines, but I'm not holding out hope that its the direction they will go.
Sonic the Hedgehog Movie
It was alright. Fairly fun movie that I half-watched. Not sure why large every video game franchise is suddenly getting a movie.
Top Gun: Maverick
I am not immune to american military propaganda. I really enjoyed this movie though, from the pacing to the story it was overall an excellent time. Definitely worth watching in theatres!
Vikram
This movie started off as a satire mocking Rajini-kanth with the first dance, but it was an engaging action movie. It was definitely way more violent than most Tamil movies, though I appreciated how few songs were included in the movie. I felt like the second half of the movie was a bit slower and felt like it dragged on too long compared to the first half of the movie. I really dislike the confrontation at the end of the movie full of CGI. All that said, it was fairly enjoyable to watch if going out with friends.
Nope
Finally watched this movie. I really enjoyed how this movie build up to the alien reveal.
Emma (2020)
I loved this movie. It was so much fun to watch! I think my favourite bit was Emma's dad freaking out about drafts/chills and constantly worrying about catching a chill.
The Family (2013)
I really enjoyed this movie as well. It was a lot of fun!
Coraline
Definitely creepy but quite enjoyable. I would have been scarred if I first saw this as a kid.
BeetleJuice (1988)
What a fun movie! It was way more wholesome than I expected!

2021 TV Tracker 2
Part 1
Move to Heaven
I love this show. The writing and acting was phenomenal. I love the exploration of grief and loss touching various societal issues affecting various people were done well love the overarching parallel arcs for Han gu ru and his uncle culminating in the final episode. The show hits all the emotional beats perfectly. Upon rewatch the show is just as impactful. Highly recommend!
Lupin, season 2
I really enjoyed how the season picked up from the previous one!! The stakes were amped up and the finale was cathartic. Its a ton of fun overall with some suspension of disbelief.
Prodigal Son
Don't remember how I ended up starting the show but was very intrigued by the premise when I heard about it first releasing. The show is not perfect, but there was a lot to like about it. I really enjoyed the supporting cast - Gil, Danni, JT and the mortician were very likeable characters. Some episodes in s2 were far stronger and better in quality than s1 making it a shame the show was canceled. I do despise the addition of the doctor in s2.
Taxi Driver 2021
I freaking love this show. The exploration of such dark topics in society, the commentary on ultimately what is justice and how can you reform criminals that are truly rotten. There are so many good arcs delving into various issues not frequently given attention to. Episode 13 was the best rollercoaster of an episode I've seen so far.
Doom at Your Service
It was fine for what it was, but not a very memorable show imo.
Kikazaru Koi niha Riyuu ga Atte
A very fun slice-of-life romance Japanese drama. I really loved the main character letting go of her unrequited love, following her dreams and moving forward. I really like how it subverted a lot of typical romance drama cliches and showed relationships in a more realistic and refreshing manner.
Fruits Basket: The Final Season
Re-visiting this story after 10 years or so, it's really amazing how well the show holds up as a whole. I absolutely love the amount of growth that each character was able to go through in such a good period of time! I like how season 2 and season 3 did an excellent job in balancing various character's perspectives and arcs. The show was very cathartic to watch, bringing me to tears at particular arcs (Momiji's arc and Tohru's deep seeded issues affecting me the most). I love re-discovering why I loved Rin as a kid by re-visiting her growth. I love seeing Machi/Yuki and Kakeru grow together.
The IT Crowd
This show started off really strong the first 3 seasons and sort of declined in quality until it ended. I was not a huge fan of the new Renholm industries boss and I felt that once he became a part of the main cast, I was not as interested in the show. Some episodes were truly hilarious while others didn't do much for me. I did appreciate the consistency of running gags throughout the series.
Castlevania season 3
I binged all of this in one day, and it was highly addictive and not as dark as I expected. I definitely was invested in Isaac's storyline as it progressed and was curious to see where the season would take him. I was also interested in Alucard and the new characters, and that relationship did not go where I initially expected it to. Seeing the traitor essentially become the vampire's slave was predictable, and I was surprised about how trusting he was. As usual, Sypha and Belmont's relationship was fun to watch and their plotline was interesting. I am curious to see where season 4 ends up taking these characters.
Stranger/Secret Forest season 1
I watched this mainly for Bae Doona, but I was pleasantly surprised! I like how twisty the main mystery is, the slow burn relationship growth between the main lead and everyone else basically and the twist they had near the end of the season.
March Comes in Like a Lion season 2
I FINALLY finished watching season 2 after a long hiatus caused by Hina's bullying arc. After a long time away, I definitely forgot a little bit of what happened in season two but man, I love this show. The game is fascinating and I love seeing Rei's developments in it, and this season seeing how much he was trying to support Hina and Nikidou was adorable. I have really come to appreciate the show's unique art style and slice-of-life/friendship plotlines. I find that with them shifting away from Kiriyama focus with his foster family, the show became more interesting seeing brief glimpses of challenges other characters face or facing playing shogi. Seeing Kiriyama find a place for himself with the teacher, the science/shogi club and akari and hina's family shows just how far he grew as a person since season one. The ending of season two felt abrupt, but I would love to watch more if they have a season three.
Squid Game
It was good for what it was. It was not a fave for me.
Happiness
I absolutely loved this show, which is surprising since its not at all the kind of show I normally go for. I really enjoy the characterizations of all the residents of the apartments. Loved watching all of the characters progress/regress or stay true to themselves. Absolutely loved the main 3 character - Seo Bom, Yi HYun and Park Seo Yoon. I really enjoyed Han Tae Seok's character trying to handle the situation and how grey he was portrayed. The supporting residents I liked in the show were the writer, the lawyer's wife and Se-hoon. I haven't seen an airing show that I was this obsessed with in quite a while - to the point where I even re-watched certain episodes just waiting for the next one!

Movies/Documentary Tracker Part 2
Part 1
Tales from EarthSea
The movie started of so strongly. I was very invested in the beginning because it was surprising and different. However, as the movie went on, it began to taper off near the middle of the story. To be honest I was expecting way more magic and dragons than what I ended up getting from the movie. It took me 3 days to finish it. Though, to the movie’s credit, I really did enjoy the last ~30 minutes of the movie and the message that it gave to the Prince. That was touching.
Christmas with the Kranks
A re-watch of a Christmas movie I found humorous years ago. It still is funny but it does have weird undercurrents to the movie about conformity.
Klaus
This movie was so cute and so wholesome. LOVED the animation style! Probably one of the most beautifully animated movies I’ve seen in a while! I really enjoy it and will probably re-visit it in years to come! It was so heartwarming.
Arthur Christmas
This was a fun movie about a Dork who cares. It was fun but to me it felt mediocre and formulaic.
How The Grinch Stole X-Mas/ The Grinch 2018
Watched the Jim Carrey version and the new animated version on Netflix and both have thier pros and cons. Personally, I love the Jim Carrey’s one because the one-liners in that movie are iconic. The new one is gorgeously animated but some of the changes made to the plot made it less impactful to me.
Sweeny Todd
I really had fun watching the movie! Loved the music, the costumes and the artistic choices Burton made. The story was fun and I had a blast watching it! I will say it did surprise me that the ending was so abrupt.
Myths and Monsters
Started this documentary on myths to learn more about myths from various European cultures and what they are representative of.
Megamind
A re-watch 10 years after its initial release. The movie was still fun, and it was interesting to see how well it stands the test of time.
Wonder Woman 1984
This movie had some great moments. I liked the invisible jet part and seeing Steve Trevor come back and interact with the new world. However, I was not that invested in the plot and the ending was too campy for my taste. Not for me.
Pixar's Soul
I really enjoyed this movie. I was invested in the story throughout and I really liked how the movie was wrapped up. I liked how the message was about enjoying life for what it is and choosing to see the good in everything.
BlacKkKlansman
This movie was so good. I really enjoyed watching the movie and how it portrayed the characters. It is unfortunate how relevant it is in society today and I appreciate the message in the ending that emphasized how the story though originally set in the 70s is still all too real today.

Movies! 2021
Rocketman
I’ve been craving more musicals I guess since watching Sweeny Todd. I really enjoyed the look into Elton John’s life in the movie (and the music ofc). I like how it focused on highlighting the early part of his career from early childhood to navigating relationships (friendship and romantic relationships) to his issues with addiction. I like how it ended in a hopeful manner showing him overcome his addiction through going to rehab and reconnecting with his best friend.
The Trial of the Chicago Seven
It was so good. I really enjoyed the movie and how it portrayed how needlessly political and what a shame the trial really was. It was infuriating to watch but still remains relevant when it comes to how institutions abuse their power and deny the right (legally) to peaceful protest.
IPMan, IPMan2, IPMan 3 and IPMan 4
I really enjoyed this movie and hopefully will end up watching the sequels. His life is so fascinating and I was really surprised to find at the end of the movie that it was based on real life.
Ranking: Loved Ipman bc it was the original, the second one had amazing action sequences. Really enjoyed the other Wing Chun martial artist in Ipman 3 and it was a treat seeing Bruce Lee in 4.
21 Bridges
Loved this movie. It was so engaging. The pacing, the acting the action and intrigue were just so good. Really enjoyed it!
Door Ke Darshan
It was a fun light-hearted movie. It had some really funny moments but overall it was just okay. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone...
Us
Finally watched it! Although I had only a vague idea of the movie’s plot, the scope of the plot was far greater than I expected. I did enjoy the movie, though!
Drishyam 2
The continuation of the first movie... it started off kind if slow but picked up so nicely. I thought it started of slow, but the momentum picked up so much speed as the movie progressed keeping me on the edge of the sofa. It was so much fun!
Coming to America 2
It was so boring. I liked the songs, but it was not worth a watch.
Raya and the last dragon
I enjoyed it for what it was. It was fun, kind of heavy handed with their message but an engaging one-time watch. Loved the way each city was animated and liked how the dragon looked the 5sec it wasn't cgi.
Rush Hour
It was a fun, light-hearted movie.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League
So, I had the time to watch the 4 hour Snyder cut. Considering I didn’t see the official version that came out 2017, I can’t really speak to any of the changes, but I did like the movie. Did it drag too long? Yes, definitely at parts, but the story was coherent which apparently the original wasn’t. I was surprised how Cyborg played such a central part of the story. But, I do wish that Cyborg looked more like half a machine half human, not a machine with just a human face. It had nice easter eggs, but I doubt I would ever re-watch this movie.
Karate Kid (2010)
Re-watch. It’s okay. Watched it to pass the time.
Lion
It was slow paced but I was invested throughout the movie. The child actors did such a good job!! I like how Dev portrayed Saroo as someone who grew up so removed from his culture and portrayed the disconnect.
Sister Act, Sister Act 2
Watched it for the first time, and I really enjoyed it! It was such a fun time!!
Batman: Long Halloween Part 1
The movie was alright, loved the animation style! Will definitely check out Part 2 to form a complete opinion.
Agatha Christie The Crooked House
It was alright. Kind of predictable.
Blinded by the Light
I really enjoyed this movie! It was very heart-warming and a fun watch! I felt a bit old agreeing more with the mc's parents about certain things.
The Suicide Squad 2021
Possibly my favorite movie of the year, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie! Honestly, I was surprised when I found out that this movie came out but I am SO glad that I watched it! It was so funny and entertaining. I loved seeing Rick Flag and Harley Quinn alongside the new characters. The characters were all so endearing, and the story kept taking unexpected turns! I did HATE seeing the CGI Weasel.
Dune
A wonderful viewing experience in theaters. I thought that the book did a great job cramming in so much content in the movie. I like how the movie was paced and really respect Villeneuve's touches making the characters more emotional so the audience is invested in them more. I liked the extra scenes with Duke Leto and Paul. I am looking forward to how part 2 will be executed.

T.v. I consumed
Part 2
ANIME
Horimiya
Update: Finished the season of the anime. The anime was very enjoyable and surprisingly fast-paced adaptation of the manga. I definitely feel like re-reading the manga series and immersing myself more in the story.
So glad to finally see it animated! Enjoyed reading the manga, and am liking the anime so far.
Fruits Basket Season 2
I finally finished it! I really enjoyed re-visiting such a beloved manga series from my formative years. It's cool to see the story be adapted into a manga series. I love seeing Yuki and Tohru's relationship grow to the platonic relationship I loved so much. I remember that vaguely from the manga, but it was adorable seeing it. I like how this season was switching perspectives between secondary characters.
The Uncanny Counter
DNF
Still watching it, but I am enjoying it so far! Love the found family aspect in the show and its enjoyable to watch overall.
Superstore
Watched up until s5 and I love the show. It balances issues and commentary with light hearted moments really well. I really enjoyed watching it!
Shadow and Bone
I liked this series way more than I expected to! I really like how they modified the plot to have 3/6 crows and Alina's story co-exist. I feel like the weakest part was integrating Nina and Matthias's arc within the season. I feel like they could have introduced it and let it develop over an entire season-season and a half for the audience to be invested. I personally felt like it was way too rushed.
Acting and chemistry was definitely one of the biggest strengths in the show along with the soundtrack.
Great show! Looking forward to more!
Julie and the Phantoms
Its kinda campy and reminds me of Disney Channel shows but I like the music in the show. You can really tell it's the same people behind high school musical. Some of the songs definitely got stuck in my head! A fun show overall.
Navillera
I have mixed feelings on this show overall. I like it, it was decent and entertaining but despite how well the characters were fleshed out, certain plot points and cliches brought me out of the show. It can be very heartwarming and sweet, but it has issues which I can't overlook. The show was an interesting concept and I enjoyed the message for the most part.
Beyond Evil
I enjoyed the first 8 episodes, it had a solid pace and I think all the actors did a great job. However, I feel like the twists in the main storyline (about Dongshik's sister) was done in a way that didn't gel well with me. I thought some twists were well done, and others I could see coming, but I was disappointed with it. It was alright but I've seen better shows in the genre.

Tv show tracker part 2
Part 1
Queen’s Gambit
I really enjoyed watching the growth of Beth Harmon as the show progressed. It was really interesting to see how her relationship with her mother evolved over time. It was also interesting to see how she struggled with drug addiction throughout her life and how much having a support group was able to help her through it. I loved seeing her wardrobe throughout as well!
Cherry Magic! 30 Years of Virginity Makes you a Wizard?
Loved it loved it loved it. So wholesome to watch. Love everything about it. It is the only show I re-watched while airing and it lives rent free in my head. Its so touching, the writing and acting is stellar. The character growth and development is *chefs kiss* 💋, the music used is iconic. I'm sure I'll re-watch it plenty of times more in the future!
Alice in Borderland
This was a fun show! I really enjoyed the plot twists that it came with. It was very addicting to watch.
Friendzone 2: Dangerous Area
Honestly I had no clue that there was going to be a sequel until I saw the gifs. Its as messy as the first season and fun to watch the drama unfold.

2019 Movies Tracker
Seen in Theatres:
Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse
Loved it! Really enjoyed the movie! So much fun, really liked the way the story unfolded and really really loved Miles Morales.
Avengers Endgame
It was fun. I tried not to think about it too much. Fairly satisfying ending. I didn’t appreciate Thor’s characterization in the movie, but watching it I could definitely see how much the Russo Brothers loved Captain America. Overall, the characters that were followed seemed fairly balanced (as in the story wasn’t all about Iron Man as usual). A good one-time watch for people interested in the Marvel-verse.
Detective Pikachu
Really enjoyed watching this movie in the theatres with friends. A lot of fun! It’s a standard pretty predictable movie but a good time for seeing CGI Pokemon.
Joker
It was a really good movie! I really enjoyed the movie and was glad I got to experience it in theatres. I liked the character based movie and it was very interesting seeing Gotham City before Bruce Wayne’s time as Batman and even what his family was doing before they were murdered. I really enjoyed seeing Arthur Flek’s circumstances that lead him to become the Joker and I would recommend people going into this movie as blind as possible. I really think that the story was written really well, the pacing was really good and together with the phenomenal acting and great soundtrack it really deserves all the praise it’s been getting!
Seen at Home
Captain Marvel
It was okay. I did enjoy it but wasn’t that invested in the movie though it could be just because I watched it at home.
Shazam!
Cute! Adorable! Fun!
How to Train Your Dragon: Hidden World
Cute kitties- I mean dragons. A nice-ish conclusion to the trilogy.
Billy Elliot
Enjoyed this movie! Very interesting. Different from what I would normally have watched. I did enjoy the way that the story subverted a lot of my expectations as to how the plot will progress. I also really enjoyed seeing Billy’s friendship and his relationship with his family.
Kubo and the Two Strings
Finally got around to watching this movie! I really enjoyed it. It wasn’t as sad as I thought it would be. Kubo is so adorable.
Tell it to the Bees
I really enjoyed this movie. It was quite gripping to watch. One of the few movies where I got most of the symbolism used, but it was done well. Wasn’t a huge fan of the ending though...
Addams Family
Finally watched the WHOLE movie. I remember it playing on ytv every year during October. Enjoyed the movie a lot! It was really touching.
Parasite
I enjoyed it! Not as gory or violent as I expected it to be (which was a great thing). I am really glad it got so much recognition!
Atomic Blonde
It was pretty fun! I enjoyed the movie and really liked the action scenes in it.
Hunt for the Wilderpeople
I really enjoyed this movie. It had heart, was hilarious, weird and quirky. Really enjoyed it! Ricky Baker’s bday song is so catchy lol
The Irishman
It was alright. Kind of funny at times with dark humor and other times it just felt like it dragged on. The cinematography was really nice.
Star Wars The Last Jedi
I enjoyed it.It definitely had some flaws but I did enjoy watching it overall. Didn’t really understand how Rey flips so easily from hating Kylo Ren’s guts and being disgusted with him to believing he can be redeemed in a few seconds... The First Order is pretty hilarious. I felt bad for Commander Hux during this entire movie. Man was humiliated over and over. The penguin thingies and the crystal foxes were so cute.
A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood
I was disappointed in the movie ngl. I thought it would be a movie about Mr. Roger’s not a movie about a journalist with issues using Mr. Rogers as his therapist. I feel like this movie was marketed in a deceiving way. I think that although there were good moments in the show overall I feel like it didn’t deliver on the emotional aspect that they were trying to get at.

2019 T.V. show Tracker part 2
Part 1
Animes
Aggretsuko
I am really enjoying this! Finished s1 and am on s2. I really enjoyed the show! I liked all the friendships that Retsuko develops throughout the season and how her relationship with her coworkers evolve. A really pleasant workplace anime.
Mob Psycho 100
Originally planned to read it before watching the anime but... will probably binge it. 2020 Update - So I did end up reading 3 volumes before watching the anime. And then I just binged it. My thoughts are here.
Dramas
He is Psychometric
DNF - I really was intrigued by the premise initially as it was quite unique. I also did really enjoy the main cast and was especially interested in the brother’s backstory. However, there was just a point in the drama where all the intrigue that they built up just stopped to interest me. It definitely had to do with the tonal switch to more romantic between the main two characters. Maybe I’ll come back to it... But I am wary as a I heard that the ending was not well received.
The Last Empress
It’s a HOT Mess. Would I recommend the show? No.
Did I enjoy it? Yes, most of it. There was a point where I knew the plot had no meaning as it was so badly cast into the back-burner by the writers that I began to enjoy the show on how utterly ridiculous it was. Kind of like how people enjoy bad movies like The Room. Don’t watch it if you expect a good plot, consistent characterizations (or even a coherent plot).
So here’s the thing, the show had potential. It started out super dark and focused on politics, manipulation and featured the emperor who is a sociopath. The show had decent-ish pacing and it seemed promising as it was initially like watching a political thriller show. But after a few episodes, the core aspect of the show began to shift as it focused more and more on the main female character (The Empress) and as her part in the story became more prominent. It became very inconsistent (plot-wise and character-wise), became more of a rom-com and really undermined the tone set by the first part of the show. Lots of interesting characters were unceremoniously shoved into arbitrary boxes, character motivations went to shit. Whenever I thought the show couldn’t get any worse - it did. But, as I gave up on the actual plot, I just found it all to be very funny. I laughed at how the writers dug themselves into a deeper and deeper hole with the characterizations of what was once interesting characters... it felt like they fired the only writer that gave a fuck and replaced them with a bad fanfiction writer. Especially when they decided to create a sort of love triangle out of NOWHERE. Warning: even I couldn’t enjoy the cop-out ending episodes (last 4 or so) that they gave to this show.
It’s absolutely no wonder why I haven’t heard about this show before.
Stay Tuned! aka Channel wa sono mama!
A Japanese mini-series based on a manga about a news station (HHTV) with how the news crew comedically deal with their new idiot hire. It was a really fun watch! Definitely recommend for people who want to watch something light! Loved it! :D
Such a good show! I already miss it!
Kingdom
It’s definitely interesting. A very bingeable show as each episode ends on a cliff-hanger. Man, Bae Doona is doing well after Sense8. Also I can’t believe the prince was the same actor as the prince from Goong/Princess Hours.
Avengers Social Club
DNF - Will hopefully finish it off.
I love the main female leads. They are each so adorable and I love their friendship with one another. Hee Soo and the step-son have a cute friendship which is lovely to see. I like that all the relationships are developing slowly. From the first episode this drama definitely had a different vibe than the typical kdrama as it was way more toned down in the melodrama aspect (in comparison) which was nice. I also like that the characters are far more grey and complex, and the writing team seems to be doing a great job so far. Excited to keep watching!
Psychopath Diary
I am enjoying it so far. I LOVED episode four, and I am looking forward to it. Yoon Shi Yoon is so adorable even when brainstorming his little murder plots. Hope that the show moves forward in a direction that keeps me interested. Fingers crossed.
Episode 14 though. Gave me high hopes for how they wrap the show up. Definitely the drama I enjoyed the most in 2019!
Update: So I finished the show! I really enjoyed the show overall and it was definitely one of the kdramas I was more invested in 2019. I really enjoyed the show overall, I did think that that being said I was not completely blind to the faults. But, I think that the strong writing (for the most part), the characters and their respective actors were more than enough to make the drama enjoyable even if it did have a couple of plot-holes or things that didn’t make sense in it. I am really glad there was no huge emphasis on a romantic aspect between Bokyung and Dongshik given the pacing and the way the story was unfolding. I am slightly disappointed with Bokyung’s role in the end of epi15/beginning of epi 16 because I did hope that she would be given a more integral part but... alas it is a kdrama afterall. I do think that it was great her role had a lot to offer and personally I thought she could have carried the show a bit more if she was given the chance.
TV Shows
The Good Doctor s3
Trying to keep up with it as it airs.
Schitts Creek s2 & s3
Great casual viewing. So funny and love all the characters. I love John’s acceptance of Schitts Creek and Roland and Jocelyn during the anniversary dinner episode. So adorable! Also, I really love Ted the vet.
The Witcher
Started it in 2019 and finished it in 2020. Really enjoyed it. It was totally disorienting and confusing because I came in expecting a linear timeline, but I got used to the format quickly. The cinematography is just gorgeous. Not sure how to feel about it but I guess its cool that all the characters are pretty morally grey (Yennifer, Geralt etc.). I’m looking forward to more.

2020 T.V Show Tracker
T.V. Shows
The Witcher
Started 2019 finished 2020. Click here for my thoughts.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Completed - I really enjoyed the episode with Pimento, that episode was just hilarious. I think that was one of my favourite episodes this season.
Self Made
It was very a enjoyable mini-series. Sarah's story is so fascinating and inspirational precisely because of how many hardships she had to deal with throughout her life. I enjoyed the show and learning more about Madam CJ Walker.
Interior Design Masters
This was a really fun show. I didn’t agree with everything that the judges said, but I definitely had fun watching the contestants renovate commercial and residential places. My favourite episode was when they worked on the stores (not restaurants). I really loved those transformations.
The Big Flower Fight
It was such a fun show! I really enjoyed watching how the contestants used plants to create beautiful and interesting topiaries/sculptures. I loved most of the contestants and was always looking forward to their take on each challenge!
Space Force
It was a fun show! Enjoyed watching it with my sister. :)
Hannibal
Re-visiting this show from the one or two episodes I watched back when I was in grade 12 and one of my teachers was promoting this show because her friend was an extra in it. But, I really am intrigued by the concept, the way the show is filmed is just so gorgeous for such a gory show and the plot is very fascinating. Anytime Hannibal feeds anyone I get a bit antsy. But Will Graham is just such an interesting character. I have high expectations of the show!
Update: Finished s1 and LOVED it! As I was binging s2 I started to get nightmares and also the plot started to move forward at a snail’s pace (imo) so I will put this show on hold for now.
The Umbrella Academy s2
So I really enjoyed this season of Umbrella Academy because I got to see more of Five kicking ass as a teenager, the character growth of BOTH Diego and Luther, seeing the entire family getting closer to Vanya and the general action sequences of the show. I enjoyed the new characters as well - Lila and The Swedes. I admit my memory of season 1 of this show is somewhat vague, but I found that the ending of the season (its climax to be precise in episode 10) to be somewhat lackluster considering the build-up.
I really enjoyed was seeing Klaus, Allison and Vanya deal with their respective subplots and that scene in the barbershop with the three of them bonding really was a highlight of the season. Also when (spoiler alert) Ben finally ‘died’ and went to the afterlife that scene was so well executed and emotional and has got to be one of my favorite moments of the season. It was nice to see him helping Vanya out.
The Haunting of Bly Manor
I loved this show! I grew to love these characters so much! I loved Hannah and Owen’s relationship so much.
The Haunting of Hill House
So, I read the book first and wanted to see what the hype was all about. I really enjoyed the little easter eggs to the book in the show, and that ONE SCENE with the ‘Bent-Neck lady’ gave me a nightmare... It was good, definitely an interesting take on the story.
Anime
The Disastrous Life of Saiki: Reawakened
I love how the show constantly shows us that Saiki will tolerate anyone for the sweet sweet coffee jelly. I need more of this show!! Please give me more episodes @Netflix.
Haikyuu!
I love it. I understand the hype now. I really enjoy how they show the lives of all the people in the show, the ‘extras’ on the team, the opponents and give us a glimpse into their lives and their stories. I finished season two and am looking forward to more! It’s honestly so hard to be rooting for just one person in this show and I love that. Finished 2 seasons so far. Will get back into it eventually. I’m honestly jealous that I can’t play volleyball rn.
Mob Psycho 100
This will probably take me a while to finish as I am planning to read it before watching it. It’s so so lovable. I love Mob and I would do anything to protect him. Also I really like Regen’s protectiveness and genuineness towards Shigeo. It’s just a great manga/anime. Finished season one. It is so addicting! I love Mob and Reigen so much! <3
Update: finished season two. Man watching this show makes my heart grow 5 x as big every time I watch it! It’s just so endearing, fun, comedic. I love how season two really just show’s Shigeo’s growth throughout the season. His speech to Shirazawa at the last episode and how it came full circle - loved it! I also was surprised by the red headed son (Ryu?) in the best way. I hope we see more of him in the next season. Can’t wait for more!
Fruits Basket season 2
Can’t wait for more crying. 🙃 I am really looking forward to seeing Yuki’s character development and his relationship with Machi and Kakeru developing. Also looking forward to seeing Momiji growing and more moments between Kyo and Tohru.
Update: Love seeing Yuki’s arc in the anime format. Seeing him reach out to his brother, Hatsuharu and the student council peeps and grow is so rewarding to watch. Looking forward to more and more Kyorhu. One wish is that, I wish with this season we could see Momiiji change physically a bit more but I’m holding onto hope for that near the end of the season.
March Comes in like a Lion/ 3-gatsu no Lion
It’s not my usual type of anime to watch as it is so slice-of-life, but in a weird way it really reminds me of My Roommate is a Cat except after I watch it I want to play chess or learn shogi. Of course, Rei has depression and a lot of issues he needs to work with, but the sisters are just so sweet and the moments that they show up to take care of him are so heartwarming. I love his self-proclaimed ‘best’ friend and rival - Nikaidou. I just really love how he’s drawn, his personality and when he shows up in the show it definitely perks me up. I really enjoy seeing him develop as a character and as a person. I am somewhat sympathetic to the plight of his foster sister but where I am in the show (finished s1) I absolutely loathe her. I really like seeing how many people are around Rei and watching him tackle life and grow. Looking forward to watching s2!
The animation is very interesting. One thing that I am not sure if it is deliberate or not is how the characters’ facial expressions (mostly the way the mouth is in close-ups) are drawn to me seems very ambiguous to me - I can’t quite understand what emotion is being conveyed.
Update: Started s2 and man the bullying storyline with Hina is so sad.
Teasing Master Takagi-san
DNF. Just started it randomly. It’s very cute.
The Great Pretender
I started it cuz it was short and seemed like fun. It has darker undertones than I expected going into it. On the Singapore storyline.
Wotaku
This was very short and binge-able. I liked it, it’s fun for what it is.
Dramas
Never Twice
So idk if I’ll actually keep up with this as it is a guilty pleasure atm. I just started it because I liked some of the tropes that the show had (found family, sweet male lead, baby being doted on etc.). I am enjoying the gifs of the show. The plot is very... boring and I do recognize that for the most part the female characters don’t have much intrinsic motivation or identity outside male characters...
05.2020 Update: DNF.
Crash Landing on You
I am really enjoying it so far. I really like that both the female leads are just very powerful and interesting on their own. Really like how the found family trope is being used. The romance is cute (a bit much at times imo). I still can’t get over how Captain Ri heard her suicide tape and just went ‘oh we are fated to be together’. That was... an interesting interpretation of the tape...
Also the whole thing with her being in N. Korea is hilarious and really the drama asks the viewer to really suspend disbelief to enjoy the show but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Update: Completed. Enjoyed it overall. Wasn’t the best drama I’ve ever seen but REALLY loved the female leads in the show. Seo Dan and her family are just SO adorable. Can’t believe Gu Suengjoon was killed just as his relationship with Dan became so cute. One qualm is that this show does the whole near death thing WAY too many times with the main couple for my taste.
365: Repeat the Year
Interesting premise and it has Nam Jihyun who I love. Looking forward to more and hoping it will keep my attention. I can’t believe that by episode 10 that the serial killer was revealed. I mean, I’m still invested in the show but that definitely caught me off-guard.
Finished it! I am really glad that they reduced the total amount of episodes because I felt that the ending was well done - not too rushed, not too out there (for the show). It was a very good ending for the show! I recommend it to anyone interested in a sci-fi/thriller. Overall, it was a fun time! Very engaging and would appeal to anyone interested in thrillers. I do have ONE gripe about the show which is a spoiler but it did not prevent me from enjoying the show.
Love with Flaws/ People with Flaws
Finished! I started it cuz of a random compilation I saw on Youtube with the show and the gifs of it here and there and it’s decent overall. I would say that out of the many kdramas I’ve seen in this genre, it does stand slightly apart from the rest because of how each character is portrayed. I feel like there were no overt archetypes for the characters and I especially liked how they portrayed characters relationships. I liked how the siblings’ relationships were portrayed, and I really ended up loving the female lead’s eldest brother. He’s just so sweet and kind and I love how he does his best to take care of their entire family. It was definitely sad to see at points knowing that Cha In Ha committed suicide, but his character in the show was just so well done and important! Also his boyfriend is literally so pure I love him. As usual Seulgi just makes me go 😍😍.
Nobody Knows 2020
It’s really good - very dark and bizarre. The shady foundation’s motivations are a mystery to me, but that hotel owner is a very interesting character. I will get back to it when I can handle more pain.
Update few months later: The twists and the turns though. Wow. I love all the children and how (so far) they are all portrayed as victims of circumstance. They are so sweet and I appreciate how Eun Ho, Dong Ryong and Min Sung’s relationships progress throughout the show. I’m also enjoying the character development of Sun Woo (the teacher/heir to the foundation). It’s also nice to see Cha Young-Jin begin to slowly open up. I’m enjoying the show a lot so far and am very intrigued by Baek Sang Ho’s group.
Final update: FINISHED it! Really loved this drama a lot. I love how all the characters are written so lovingly with so much depth to them. I liked the way the plot unraveled, I liked how all the relationships developed in the story, I loved the way forgiveness and morality were discussed. It was a really good drama and I am missing it already!
Chicago Typewriter
A re-watch. Man I love this drama. The three leads and their relationship is just adorable.
I hope that in Shin Yul’s world/afterlife or whatever they can be happy together. <3
Oh My Baby
I started this out because I was extremely bored and saw a few gifs of the show. It seems promising. Don’t have super high expectations of the show tbh. I do like the main couple though! They are adorable, nervously awaiting how it will conclude.
Update: Skipped a couple of episodes (4?) and went to the end. It ended up alright, very open ending and somewhat realistic. I’m glad the main characters were able to put their relationship above their disappointment in being infertile.
Strangers from Hell/ Hell is Other People
I really enjoyed it!! - If I were to recommend it to anyone I would recommend they go into it as blind as possible to enjoy it to the fullest.
So... I had no clue that this show was ONLY 10 episodes long, so imagine my surprise as the events that have been put to play begin to climax, I checked and was surprised that it wasn’t a 16 episode drama. Anyways, this drama had superb writing, directing, acting and fight scene choreography. Everything came together to really make this show have such a dark, creepy atmosphere that intensified as the episodes went on. I loved how the show portrayed how Yoon Joon Yoo/O’s mentality was tested to the breaking point. Tbh I thought he was slow in the beginning of the show (episode 1-2), but turned out that he did far better than his counterparts. I think that one thing that was a shame was they didn’t really show the strength of his relationship w his girlfriend too much before, and had they had more screen time as a couple I would have been even more invested in the story.
Mystic Pop-up Bar
Loved it! This was a really enjoyable show. The pacing was good, the story was interesting and I liked watching the characters relationships develop. It was heartwarming and a fun watch! I enjoyed the focus on various people’s stories showcasing all sorts of relationships.
It’s Okay Not to be Okay/ Psycho But It’s Okay
Put it on hold for now - watched up until episode 10-12ish.
Flower of Evil
The best kdrama of 2020 so far? Possibly. Love how it mixes being a thriller with the marital relationship aspect. One potential con is that it seems that the mystery aspect of the show for now seems fairly obvious but how the situations will be handled keeps me on the edge of my seat!! Also I totally did not expect such a strong marriage to be shown in a thriller drama! Also the way that Cha Ji Won is written is just chef’s kiss. I love how complex she is, how intelligent, kind, caring and so so good at putting things together. I love Hyun So’s family and I hope it ends with them staying together.
Update: Finished it! Not sure how I feel about the very last episode... but I can say I’m glad that Do Hae Su got some crumbs in terms of character development by the end. So glad she didn’t end up with Moo Jin and started a new life abroad. The amnesia plot was unnecessary imo, I would have rather seen more cute scenes of them together than angst in the last episode. But, it was interesting to see how the trial was revealed, and the Baek’s got way better than they deserved which is unfortunately realistic.
Lie after Lie
Plot sounded way more interesting in the synopsis vs the execution. Mediocre plot which I thought was easy to see through.
Eighteen Again
sort of dnf? I made it to epi 14 or so and just finished it in my head and through gifs. It had so much potential which I think it squandered... but there were some genuinely heart warming scenes from the show which I really enjoyed. (Siwoo and his dad bonding, all the scenes showing the mc as the nicest dude).
I don’t want to be friends with you
I really enjoyed the show. I liked how it portrayed the mother-daughter relationship, the differences in how they were raised and how Li Jing Bu was able to get the love she so craved through her dream?/journey. I liked how the romance was handled, how she gained such meaningful relationships during the show and how important it was to her that her mom was happy.
The Good Detective (2020)
I really enjoyed this show! It was really cool to see a show that critiques the corrupt systems they have in place and the unexpected consequences that it can have on people. I liked how it touched on themes of guilt, remorse, forgiveness and resilience. Also, it was interesting to see a guy who has all the money in the world choose to be a workaholic detective.

2019 T.v. show Tracker
Part 2
Animes
Mo Dao Zu Shi
Finished it. Read the novel. Checking out the Cdrama (The Untamed). Obsessed. Watch it, it’s worth it.
Currently watching season two! Jing Ling is so precious and all the chibis are SO CUTE!
Dororo
In progress (~episode 20) - Love it so far! Excited to see where it goes!
Update: Dororo was always precious but I just appreciate this child more and more as the episodes continue. I really enjoyed the lighter episode with the opposite village and the swordsmaster. Also, I am glad that Itachi finally died... but tbh I can’t hate him. Dororo is soo forgiving, my precious child.
Edit: Completed. Enjoyed the story and the way that it was wrapped up.
My Roommate is a Cat
Completed - Loved it! Super cute, fluffy and touching. Fun to watch! Really enjoyed the show and REALLY want more! Please make a season 2!!
Fruits Basket 2019
It’s definitely doing its job of hitting the heartstrings true to Fruits Basket lore (I loved the manga). That opening (1) tho is so depressing really setting the mood for the show I guess... I’m excited for more and aware of the pain that is yet to come. But I am excited (and hopeful) to see them do justice to the plot this time. Update: s1 is almost over and I really enjoyed it!
One Punch Man
Loved it!! Finished season one! It was way too short... Will watch season two when all the episodes come out! I actually found the show to have a lot of parallels with The Disastrous Life of Saiki which could be the reason that I enjoyed it so much. I really don’t know how all the fans who watched it when it was first released could have waited so long for season two.
Ruroni Kenshin
Randomly started it cuz I was planning on watching it for a while and it was on Netflix so I thought - why not. Liking it so far but I haven’t gotten very far yet so it’s hard to form an opinion atm.
Dramas
Bad Guys
Completed - Good Binge.
It was very addicting, very interesting premise that captured my attention initially. It’s a good binge, but around episode 10 the show, the show sort of fizzled out for me. The hitman’s storyline (Jung woo) was a bit too melodramatic for my taste and was a bit off-putting, however I absolutely loved the psychopath’s story. That definitely kept me hooked throughout. One huge plus of this show is the action, and it is a lot of fun to watch if you don’t think about the show too much.
Gibo to Musume no Blues
Completed - Loved it! I’d highly recommend it!
This show was so adorable and so sweet and fun to watch from start to finish. I really enjoyed this slice of life and the warm stepmother and stepdaughter relationship throughout the show. It was very heartwarming to watch. I loved how all the characters were treated with respect and didn’t seem like hollow caricatures, I liked the relationships portrayed in the show and the general warmth that this show had throughout.
I am still not over what happened to Ryoichi :( , but I can say that I absolutely loved every single character in this show. The baker definitely grew on me more and more throughout the later half of the show and he became very lovable. Overall, this was a great drama that I am glad I checked out!
Children of Nobody/ Red Moon Blue Sun
Completed - Loved it! 15/10 would recommend!
This drama was really really gripping. I like how the story didn’t feel very formulaic, and I admit I was quite unsure what was going on in the first 2 or so episodes. But once the plot line was set in motion, I was along for the ride. One huge reason for that is probably the main character Cha Woo Kyung, she won me over very quickly and her backstory was very intriguing. I also really like Yi Kyung’s character as well as his team, though it did take me a while to warm up to him. The children all did a phenomenal job as well - I especially like Ha Na and Si Wan’s acting.Si Wan is another huge factor that kept me watching, the child actor did a great job!
One thing I definitely appreciated with this show was how morally grey all the characters were, it made them more relatable. If I were to compare it to similar mystery/crime kdrama’s I’ve seen, I think so far this would rank the highest - the plot was engaging, the characters were interesting, there was absolutely ZERO focus on developing a romantic relationship and the topic - abuse (child primarily) was handled well.
Her Private Life
Really loving Ryan Gold so far!! He’s actually super considerate and kind? Love it! Quite like the female lead as well. Love her relationship with her best friend, they are absolutely adorable! Not too happy about what I heard about the Eun Gi thing where they did the Reply staple of making the viewers assume that he’s her brother only to find out he’s interested in her romantically and that they aren’t blood-related... why is this trope so popular? This reminds me a lot so far of Reply 1997.
Update: show is moving on in a very cliche way... extremely predictable so far. Will maybe stick w it bc I love Ryan’s character and the couple are adorable. TBH I didn’t start this for the plot. Another gripe that I have is just why do kdramas always do the thing where the main couple are meant to be and met during their childhood? I don’t get why that’s so popular... But I do respect the fact that Ryan’s real mom did not abandon him and that arc was resolved quickly.
Overall, it was better than a lot of other dramas in this genre and it was done with much less unnecessary drama. I appreciated how the side characters were handled and liked that they were given time to have their own sub-plots. A decent show all in all.
The Fiery Priest
Loved it! I like the mix of the action and comedy that was showcased in the show. I found this show to be very similar in the plot structure, comedy (to an extent) and characterizations to Chief Kim so I enjoyed the show a lot and had a pretty good idea of what to expect from the show. It’s a fun show that keeps you hooked for more, and like Chief Kim don’t expect any romance between characters to really develop.
Angel’s Last Mission: Love
Shin Hye Sun is just gorgeous, omg. She’s also a really good actress. I really liked seeing her in this role coming out of watching Still 17 to see the sheer difference in personality. I am enjoying the contrast. Also, I like her chemistry with Myungsoo. I don’t care for the second lead nor can I bring myself to empathize with him. I also am somewhat disappointed with her family sub-plot because so far it seems pretty cliche so I’m hoping for a plot twist or two.
DNF.
Project S The Series: Spike
I FINALLY finished it! Really loved it. Great acting, loved the pace of the show and how realistic it felt. I really liked watching the team come together and grow together. The few female characters were a delight - Jern is so lovable and adorable. Bright is very sweet and does a lot for the team. Puen’s relationship with the entire team was interesting to see - his strong bond with Singha and now Than, his relationship with Jern and ofc his friends. Than’s relationship with his dad was also portrayed realistically right til the end. It’s a good watch, and I’ll definitely re-watch the series.
Ao to Boku
So addicting, waiting for the last episode to be subbed. Please get subbed!
Update: it was subbed! Finished it! Enjoyed the drama overall. A nice mystery/friendship/slice-of-life one. Be warned that although there is a bit of mystery it is mainly a slice-of-life/friendship drama.
The Untamed
I enjoyed it overall (tho I did end up skipping over some episodes). I thought that it was a faithful adaptation to the novel considering the censorship issues. I love how they took out a lot of the explicit gay but still somehow made parts of the show gayer. Also I LOVE fairy. Fairy is an adorable fluffball that owns my heart <3.
DNF - He is Psychometric
Melo Suits Me/ Be Melodramatic
So... they really made one of the cutest love stories tragic huh. I’m really enjoying the show so far, I love the friendship between the main 4 leads. I am interested about the industry and I like the balance that the drama has with its humour, friendship, love and slice-of-life elements. I really like the actress and her manager couple they are so cute! I kind of wish I have more cute mother-son moments with the kid so hopefully in a future episode.
Update: Finished it! Liked the ending overall, had one minor qualm. I really liked the Director (Yeller) that was introduced. He was an unexpected delight and I love his dynamic with Eun Jung. I did like that they did end up subverting a romantic relationship and left it platonic. That was unexpected.
T.v. shows
Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Season 6 - Finally finished it! Lot of fun, and enjoyed watching yet another season of the show. I really enjoyed their Cinco de Mayo heist this year and thought that was a lot of fun. I personally didn’t really feel Gina’s absence too much though her going away words were cute near the beginning of the season.
Broadchurch
Completed - Completely binged season 3! I love this show!
I forgot how beautiful the cinematography in the show was! Their little village is gorgeous. It’s a bit jarring to watch it after a year or so because my memory of season 2 of Broadchurch was quite hazy. Nevertheless, I absolutely love this show. This season was very different from the previous ones, and it had a good build up but the final reveal of the culprit was quite... predictable. However, there was a twist that came with the reveal that came completely out of the blue. I liked the way Alec/D.I Hardy and Ellie handled the issue at hand and set an example of how cases of rape should be handled within the police force. It was also really nice to see Beth’s growth, the vicar and what Maggie were up to! I also enjoyed seeing Alec and his daughter’s relationship grow. Too bad its cancelled... here’s hoping that one day they’ll renew it.
Stranger Things season 3
I personally liked it a lot more than season two because I felt that it had more growth from the characters. I liked Eleven’s character growth and how the dynamic of the relationships changed and seeing the kids grow up. But, I’m definitely getting a bit tired of this show... because although I did enjoy this season, I still feel that in a way it was redundant.
Derry Girls s2
I loved it! So funny. So adorable. Love the characters and the ridiculous situations that they put themselves in (or are put in). Sister Michael is still my fave, her lines are always pure gold.
Anne with an E season 3
Trying to keep track of it as it is airing on CBC. I missed the second episode :( But I watched episode 3 and the foreshadowing for the residential schools omg

2021 TV Tracker Part 3
Part 1, Part 2
Mo Dao Zu Shi season 3
I’m sad that it is ending, but I can’t believe I get to see more moments from the novel get animated! The Yi City Arc was done very well given only 3 twenty minute episodes bringing forth a condensed version of the story that is heart-breaking. I am curious to see how they continue changing the novel material in the donghua.
Edit: The way they just decimated the ending arc… WHY? It took away the most impactful story beats and for what? They did their best with the rest of the season but the last 3 episodes disappointed me.
Nine Perfect Strangers
I really enjoyed this show, though I definitely think it started off slowly. I got so invested in Melissa McCarthy's character and her romance with the footballer. The show was very intriguing and gave off low-key creepy vibes, but despite the tension building the ending of the show was surprisingly anti-climactic. However, I really enjoyed all the characters and was really invested in everyone's journey of personal growth. The cinematography for this mini-series was amazing.
Bungou Stray Dogs season 1
It was such a hyped anime back in the day so I figured I’d check it out as it was in my radar for so long. It was okay. I may continue and see if it gets better as season 1 only had 12 episodes.
Castlevania season 4
I LOVED this season so much. It definitely helps that there was a very short time span between me watching s3 and s4. But, I feel like the way season 4 unfolded had me absolutely hooked. I liked how often my expectations were subverted and I absolutely loved the conclusion of the season. Extremely satisfied with this season.
Hometown Cha Cha Cha
I enjoyed this show for what it was. It gave me Reply88 flashbacks in the tone. I appreciated the multiple storylines across the residents of the small town and how they unraveled.
Psycho But It's Okay/It's Okay not to be Okay
I finished off the remaining 2-3 episodes since DNF'ing the show when it first came out. It concluded nicely. It wasn't my favorite show, but it had very high impact episodes and excellent character growth for the main cast.
The Chestnut Man
It was a fairly standard cop show. The whole chestnut man lore was interesting, and the characters were likeable but the twist didn't really surprise me all that much.
Mindhunter
This show is so interesting. I am really enjoying the dynamic of Holder and Tench. The subject matter they uncover is so fascinating. I feel like the show was casted and acted so well, its such an immersive viewing expeience. Kemper's actor in particular did an excellent job.
The Office
Excellent casual viewing.

T.v./Dramas Consumed ‘22 Part 2
Part 1
Stranger Things s4 vol.1
I was pleasantly surprised with the direction that the show was taking in the first part of the season. I really enjoyed Eddie's addition to the cast and seeing slightly more Erica in the show. I am getting more and more annoyed with Mike's character, but other than that this season reignited a lot of my interest in this show. Episode 4 was easily one of the best episodes in this show in a while and Sadie Sink really showed off her acting chops this season. I have to say though, I am not enjoying the Russian plotline as much. It definitely is investing action wise, but I don't see how it will all connect to the main storyline before the season wraps up. I loved seeing more of Murray, but bringing Hopper back felt very cheap. Moreover, I was not that engaged with the bullying El storyline or the Byers + El meeting Mike again only for Eleven to get separated. Also, when El was getting her powers back and was seeing her past memories, I thought that 'Papa' already died? I was surprised to see him still alive. The show ending on the cliffhanger was really interesting with trying to predict what happens to Nancy.
Again My Life
DNF On episode 8 or so… hopefully will finish it.
I was really enjoying this revenge drama. One thing I really appreciate about this show is how the protagonist starts to create strong friendships and creates a team to take down Cho Tae Sub. I loved his relationship with the old real estate man.
Old Fashioned Cupcake
Love it! Sad that it's 5 episodes but it's sooo good. After episode 2 I binged the manga and am excited to see it acted out.
Update: Finished it! I really enjoyed this show! It felt like the episodes went by in a flash. The show packs in a lot in such little run time but it does it so effectively.
To My Star 2
So much pain, but so freaking good. The character and the relationship exploration is soooo good. I love how much care has gone into the season. I have no clue how it will conclude, but the writing has been strong so long so cautiously optimistic.
Update: I loved this show. Maybe even more than s1. The continuation of the story, the characterizations and problems presented and how the issues were tackled felt very organic and real to me. This was a very angsty season, but it was a very grounded show. I liked the resolution of the issue, I think that Jiwoo feeling like he doesn't exist without SJ is a huge issue. I am glad that the show focused more on establishing his place of belonging by creating a life outside his relationship with SJ.
Yumi's Cells season 1
With the release of season 2, I thought I'd check out season one of the show and its so much fun! I love Kim Go Eun and I enjoy how the show is progressing so far.
Update: I completed the season. I really enjoyed it! I really enjoyed Woong's character - he was such a lovable dork. I understand though why they ended up breaking up as there were many issues in their relationship. I was surprised that the last scene of this season was Woong and Yumi's breakup.
Yumi's Cells season 2
I started it! I found that this season it seems way sweeter than s1, probably bc of Jinyoung's character. I am curious to see where it goes. I'm enjoying it so far.
Update: Unsure how the season will progress since they broke up. I don't blame her for ending it at all, but it was a choice to bring back Woong from s1. I am very proud of her becoming an author though!
I finished this season and I think it was overall far more disappointing when compared to season 1 when comparing the progression of Yumi's relationship with Babi. The pacing of this show felt off and there was NOTHING that could save their relationship after they broke up even though they got together afterwards. I enjoyed Yumi's growth as a person this season and her shifting priorities but the balance between her growth and her romance was not handled well. I felt like shoehorning Woong and making him face-off against Babi was unnecessary and made Babi look worse.
Stranger Things s4 vol 2
I feel lied to with this whole vol 1 & 2 nonsense they pulled. There was no reason they couldn't just release all the episodes at once seeing as it was only 2 more episodes. Watching the rest of s4 once again sobered me up to the fact that the writing in this show cannot be trusted to be good. Really, the monologue Mike gave Eleven was very cringey. WTF happened with Max? They backpedalled like 3 times in the finale. She died, gongs 4 times, then she's in a coma? Either kill her properly or don't, but don't pull this bs.
Eddie dying did not really make sense. He should have just climbed the rope with Dustin bc their job (as decoys) was done. I hate that only Dustin even cared that he died even though he bonded with them all (but Gaetan really acted well there so good for him). The Steve/Nancy/Jonathan thing was very contrived drama that was kind of funny to me but not in a way I care about the outcome. I did NOT like the scenes between Steve and Nancy they felt so awkward these 2 episodes.
The one scene that I thought was touching was Will and Jonathan's talk which reminded me why I was so invested in their relationship in s1.
The trailer for the remainder of this season was FAR more engaging than the actual content they released. It was legitimately the first time this season I was so disengaged from the show. It was definitely far darker this season, but what a shame they didn't take full advantage of it. It felt very half-baked tonally.
All of Us Are Dead
I guess I just need to see an outbreak movie every once in a while. I really enjoyed the characters in this show and felt very attached to most of the high schoolers in the main crew and the archery crew. Gwi nam was an excellent villain, truly a menace! I also think that the formerly bullied girl who became unhinged should have had a chance to go after him though, I'd love to see how that turns out but alas. I understand the hype around the show but honestly I don't know why they are doing a s2, though I'm sure they'll end up adding new characters and expand the world-building. I can't say I'm interested or intrigued at a sequel, but I loved the first season for what it was.
Re-watch: Stranger Things s1
I can't believe how many things I got confused from s1 and s2. Re-watching it made me rethink why I liked Mike as a character from s1 itself. Steve definitely was a jerk, but honestly I felt like they set him up nicely as someone who wanted to do better from the beginning. The most surprising thing was my belief that Nancy and Steve broke up and she ended up with Jonathan in s1 when that wasn't the case.
Abbott Elementary s1
This show was just very wholesome and fun. Loved seeing Tyler now as a teacher after growing up with Everybody Hates Chris. I think that the actresses who played Barbra and Ava really stole the show for me! Looking forward to watching more!
Link: Eat, Love, Kill
I didn't expect this show to be so dark in the first two episodes. I like how there are many twists and mysteries that keep unravelling. My favourite couple easily is the police exes. They are so cute together!
Finished the show. It was a solid show overall. I think the mystery show was done well. I loved the exes relationship in this!
Alchemy of Souls
I am enjoying this show way more than I expected. I am nervous as this show is 20 episodes and already planning a season 2.
Update: I finished this show. I have to say that this show had an excellent arc and character progression up until episode 19. Episode 20 seemed like purposely stirring up intrigue and drama to continue the story over another season and brought out all the major secrets all at once. I am not fully confident with how s2 will progress given episode 20, however I have to say I really enjoyed the arc up til episode 19. Also I feel that while I am looking forward to more screen time for Jin Cho-yeon other than being a love interest, I didn't like that her wedding was what was ruined to bring it about. I am glad that they didn't go full character assassination with the Crown Prince in episode 20 because he is so charismatic and such an interesting character.
This show was very ambitious and I think for all its flaws it has solid characterizations and motivations, the drama didn't feel too forced (unless its for comedy).
Alias Grace
I really enjoyed this mini series! It was very intriguing to follow Grace's life from coming to Toronto from Ireland up until the end. I will say, I am surprised at the ending of the show.
The Good Place seasons 2-4
I am glad I came back to the show. I really enjoyed this series!! I found the humour really worked for me, the characters are so lovable and I love the overall message of the show. Chidi and Eleanor continually being the heart of the show really made Chidi's decisions in later season hit so much harder. I love Jason's relationships with everyone. It was fun seeing Michael's character development throughout the show. I also really enjoyed Simone's addition to the cast! She was a delight!
Re-watch: Nobuta wo Produce
This show holds up so well! I was never able to forget that one scene when Nobuko helped the old man when he collapsed. That scene burned itself into my memory. I felt like I thought this show had more romance focus than it did in reality. I love the three main characters, I especially love and relate to Kazuhaya on a different level than the other two, but I love how the trio balance each other out. I love how weird everyone was at their school including the teachers. I really enjoyed re-watching this show!!
Derry Girls Season 3
I am so sad that this show is over, but I am glad that it ended well. I really loved all the characters and watching them get up to their insane shenanigans. This season was just as funny as the previous ones and just as heartfelt. Absolute twist they pulled with Uncle Colm finding Eammon boring lol. When this show ended, I totally get why the actor who plays James ships his character with Erin so much.
Re-watch: Stranger Things s2
I finally finished this and I have to say this season is way better upon re-watch. I remember thinking that this season was not to par of the original, but I really enjoyed the possession arc with Will. I think it was the first real season we got more insight into his personality and Noah really shone in this season.
I loved seeing the scenes with Mike/Will and seeing Lucas and Max's relationship develop. I think the most controversial and hated episode with Eleven and Kali was exaggerated too much. It fit the tone of the show and I really enjoyed El's rock/emo/outcast phase. Especially coming off of where Eleven was mentally it fit in well. Tbh I would love if Kali reappears at one point in the show (though I won't hold out hope). It does bother me that El's storyline with her mom which was a fun plot thread this season was NOT resolved nor ever mentioned again. Same thing with El reclaiming her birth name - Jane. I hope there is some resolution for this in s5...
Also, I did not remember how Barb and her family got closure due to Nancy/Johnathan and Murray's help. I appreciate that Steve and Nancy grew apart due to how her guilt consumed her. It was done well and made a lot of sense. Steve the babysitter set-up and his friendship with Dustin beginning was another highlight this season.
Little Women (Tvn)
This was a fun and WILD ride. I watched it bc it has my two girls - my faves Nam Ji Hyun <3 and Kim Go Eun <3. I have to say this show was super trippy and twisty but also at times very straight-forward and formulaic. The whole show felt like a juxtaposition given how the characters and plot were written. It is visually stunning but you really need to shut of your brain to watch imo (and really escape into the absurdity). I had a lot of fun with this show and it is enjoyable though not for everyone.
Interview with a Vampire
Its so good!!! On the edge of my seat each episode. The relationship is so interesting because of how complex each character is. The dialogue at times is so poetic. Looking forward to more! Must read the books as well!
Koisenu Futari
Finally found the subs for this show (after months of wanting to see it) and it is my type for sure! I am flying through it because its so good and fun. I am trying to make it last more than a binge. I love the characters and how the are growing and influencing each other. I love the questions the show raises and how it portrays asexuality and aromanticism as well as questioning 'what makes a family?' I love the emphasis on the diversity of opinions and mutual respect while recognizing everyone has their own ideas on how to live their lives.
Silent
What a masterpiece of a show. I am obsessed with all the characters. Such an interesting show and love all the discourse around Sakurai Sou's disability and him learning to open back up to people.
Lookism (anime)
I really enjoyed how the webtoon was animated for the short 8 episodes. I like how much it adds to the experience getting to listen to the song that the mc sings at the concert in the final episode and watching all the fight scenes. Time to continue reading the webtoon.
Summer Strike
So... I thought this was going to be a cozy slice-of-life watch (though ngl I mainly watched for Im Siwan). I loved the main two characters and the slow nature of the show. I have to see that the ending felt super rushed which really dampened my experience with this show. The relationships between the characters felt rushed and could have been fleshed out more to make it more impactful.
