“our enemies are those whom we alienate and not embrace, for they, too, are part of the solution”
CYNTHIA BASINET, Nobel Peace Prize nominee and social change activist, warned that 16 years into a new century, the international community could “ill afford the cost of the voiceless”.  @united-nations 2016

From the UN official site: "CYNTHIA BASINET, Nobel Peace Prize-nominated entertainer and humanitarian, said she was advocating on behalf of Sahrawi intellectual property and against "fake news". The rigged media benefited the 1 per cent, she said, emphasizing that it had been the Sahrawi cause that had ignited her interest in media activism. Progress on that cause had been blocked for 16 years by the rigged media, she said. The Sahrawi must be prized and protected, having endured so much, she said, while reiterating that intellectual property was a human right." @united-nations

#MEDIAWARS: For over 35 years “#TheRoyals” benefit by utilizing #stalkarazzi tactics to divert income and solutions! In 2001, I visited the #WesternSahara #refugeecamps for exactly this reason! As #Saharwians and so many other #displacedsocieties have been getting the short end of the stick thanks to #deepfakes! These people aren’t #heroes! They are #scam artists. They get their publicists’ interns to listen to my #speeches before the #UN #UNSC from over a decade ago, and create it for their “#Philanthrepreneur from the heart”?! Oh and they don’t even have to sing the WORLD’s favorite version of a #Christmas #song for over 20 years or #Nobel nom to do it! See, I believe that what we produce as #artists is our #intellectualproperty and NOT SOLD OFF for #fakenewsmedia #fakecelebs #fakebrands! #princeandrew #sarahferguson #meghanmarkle #disney #santababy #ipaintfree #payuphollywood #solar (at Laayoune, Western Sahara) https://www.instagram.com/p/B5Inz-dnx4n/?igshid=19p50iqujs6m6

After Cynthia Basinet’s relentless badgering both privately and via social media, ABC News and George Clooney finally step up.
Cynthia, who garnered a shared Nobel Peace Prize nomination after visiting the Saharwian refugee camps in 2001 has put the plight of displaced societies and refugees on the forefront for over a decade.
Her cries have become louder as more and more face desperate famine, as the celeb couple party on garnering a $1B cash load from dumping their tequila line.
Many have noted Cynthia’s glam look and rocker chic have been embraced by celebs, a-listers, supermodels including both the Gubers and Clooneys keeping their media cycle current and relative.
Intellectual property is a human rights issue and is not free.  It comes at the cost of humanity, diversity and poverty.
“Displaced societies are of value.  Their issue are our issues” - as stated by Cynthia before the 2005 @united-nations Security Council, in what would be her first of 10 speeches.

The actress singer, Cynthia Basinet's sultry jazzy pop "Santa Baby" has fans and radio radio playlists worldwide once again attributing the critically acclaimed vocalist to the playfulness of Marilyn, who never recorded the song. Cynthia recorded her version tributing Eartha Kitt as a gift to her love, Jack Nicholson during his "As Good As It Gets" Oscar campaign in 1997 with two other songs, "Someone To Watch Over Me" and "Just" as a Christmas Card CD for her industry friends and Hollywood's movers and shakers. "At the time was being told Hollywood wasn't making musicals and actors weren't crossing over to music," explains Cynthia "then in 1999 started my indie record label, Welcome To Dreamsville Records and launched via the MP3 internet revolution to help raise awareness for the genre I love so much and as a gift akin to the Coke commercials of my youth. In less than six weeks songs sung originally as love songs were now as popular as Frank Sinatra, Doris Day, Al Jarraeu, Harry Connick Jr, Sammy Davis, Jr. and Peggy Lee." Cynthia's "Santa Baby" has since appeared in soundtracks most recently, CBS's "NCIS Los Angeles" and the indie cult classic, "Party Monster" with Macaulay Culkin. Her style and easy breasy sound has influenced artists across genres from Taylor Swift, Kylie Minogue, Michael Buble, Renee Fleming, Tamar Braxton, Diana Krall, Pink Martini, to ABC's Nashville and FOX's Glee. Also a mom, Cynthia has used this ability to raise awareness for a multitude of causes including refugees; visiting Saharwian refugee camps in 2001 and has addressed the UN on issues of self-determination. In 2005, she was nominated for a shared Nobel Peace Prize with "1000 PeaceWomen Across The Globe" for reconciliation and reconstruction. Recently, the actress.singer appeared on Bravo's "Untying the Knot". "Santa Baby" and her 'warm, fun, delighful' Holiday classic, "The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)" arranged by Lee Musiker, as were "Cry Me A River" and "It's Only A Paper Moon" can be found on Cynthia's full length CD, "The Standard" containing 11 Standard gems available on iTunes and Amazon and can also be heard via apps Spotify, Live365.com, Yahoo, Rdio, Pandora, Shazam. Give the gift of music and share memories that last a lifetime. ###
