Open to mutuals or non-mutuals (f / m / nb) Muse: Sage Wolfgang | Journalist | Pansexual Plot: Your muse is good friends with Sage and they have agreed to to go to her parents' 40th wedding anniversary party as her plus one. Sage has a long time crush on your muse but has never made it obvious. Or perhaps your muses knew and went along with it. Non mutuals, please READ my rules first.
“Look alive, please,” Sage muttered underneath her breath as she eyed the person by her side. It’s bad enough she had to drag her friend to this exhausting anniversary party. It’s even worse when her parents kept asking her when will she settle down and give them grandchildren. “Look, my mom made her famous Shepherd’s pie, there’s all the shrimp and potato salad you can eat....” The Wolfgangs were famous for parties like this - grand, superficial and full of nosy family members. She quickly reached out for two champagne glasses from a server’s tray and handed one to her fake significant other for the night. “Have I thanked you for coming tonight and saving my ass again?

Her brows furrowed. The scene was enough make one's insides shrivel up. Sage wrinkled her nose at the metallic scent of blood - it was proving to be too overwhelming. She had scene similar images like this one - they were plastered all over the board in her office. This was the fifth occurrence - same modus operandi, same injuries, lesions. She eyed the corpse, taking note of how the skin had greyed out and left it crepe like as if the victim's life force had been sucked out within a minute.
"What do you think, Ash?" Sage finally voiced out as she flicked her hues up to the other woman. "Same M.O. right?" The police had cordoned off the crime scene, pushing onlookers further away from it. The city had been rattled by these murders. Authorities were baffled and no one seemed to know anything. Even the coroner's office could not give a definitive answer. Throughout her years as an investigative journalist, Sage hadn't seen anything as gruesome. Sage craned her neck to take another look. "Whatever killed these people, it's definitely not human."

The blonde snickered at his teasing. "Don't tell that to one of my girlfriends. Math whiz. But definitely weird too. In a good way." Sage couldn't help but felt tension when Aunt Claire came even closer. She's out of everyone's league. She could feel a tint of rouge colouring her cheeks - Sage politely disagreed in her head because Sam was out of her league too - or at least that's what she kept telling herself.
Sage had to suck in her lips as Sam spoke with his arm around her. He addressed pompous Aunt Claire with such ease and eloquence. And he did not disappoint. If anything, his confidence made him so much more attractive to her than before. He laughed and she suddenly found it so... irresistably sexy. Sage had to fight the urge to actually lean into the crook of his neck and bury her face there. Why does this man smell so good too? Her teeth were already snagging her inner cheek to quell her inappropriate thoughts.
Aunt Claire stilled herself and.. wait... was that a smile? A sincere small smile had actually carved onto her thin lips and Sage raised her brows. It was rare - absolutely once in a blue moon. "I can tell you're a keeper," she winked at him and Sage found herself grasping the hand Sam had around her. Uncle Pete spoke, "We better not hog so much of the limelight. Your Uncle John is about serenade everyone with Barry Manilow." Sage could only smile as she watched them amble away and a whoosh of an exhale left her. "Shit, you're really good at this," she remarked, grinning at Sam. "I think we can sneak away once everyone is gathered at the grand piano. Because god knows I need to down some good whiskey and my dad only has it in the study room," she whispered, mischief hinting at her tone.
Sam leaned closer to Sage, his voice low and teasing just for her. “Accountants are pretty sleazy… anyone that good at numbers is definitely weird,” he murmured. Straightening up, Sam turned his attention to Aunt Claire with an easy confidence. “I’d like to think I’m good enough for Sage,” he said, glancing briefly at her with a softer look before continuing, “but honestly? She’s out of everyone’s league. Including mine.”
He paused just long enough to let the words land, then added with a grin, “That said, I bring some solid credentials to the table. I’m a doctor, I’ve got a stable income, and—most importantly—I make a killer omelet. So, I’d say I’m at least worth considering.” Aunt Claire raised an eyebrow, clearly not fully convinced but intrigued. “A doctor, hmm? But what kind of doctor? Are we talking someone who saves lives or one of those doctors who just hands out ibuprofen?”
Sam laughed, keeping his arm around Sage. “Emergency medicine,” he replied smoothly, his tone light but confident. “So, yes, saving lives is part of the job description. Though I’ll admit, I’ve handed out my fair share of ibuprofen too.” And he'd likely need some after the night was over.

Sam always had a way with his teasing - always building on to whatever ridiculousness she throws his way in their banter. And when his voice had lowered into a murmur paired with that gaze of his, Sage's heartbeat grew loud, thumping on her eardrums. "Good," she whispered back, "Wouldn't want to have a poor boyfriend considering my reputation, you know?" she teased back, grinning at him. Sage felt her heart stop for a brief moment as soon as his arm slip around her waist. They had never been in this close proximity - that one time he had treated her superficial injury on the arm didn't count.
Seemed like the mention of having a family tipped off a nosy elderly couple their way. The tip of her fingers had gone cold though despite Sam's warmth deft digits. Sage’s voice lowered to an urgent whisper. “They’ve been trying to set me up with this sleazy accountant of theirs," she tried to explain. "That's Uncle Pete and his I-am-always-better-than-everyone wife, Aunt Claire. So you can imagine now they want to know the deets.” She stilled herself, absolutely grateful that Sam was by her side. "Sage," Aunt Claire crooned, batting her eyelashes and Sage felt nauseated all of a sudden. "No wonder you've been avoiding our offer to set you up with our accountant." Sage could only shrug. Somehow words had failed her. "Who is this gentleman hhmmm? Are you good enough for my niece?"
“Taking a bullet for me, huh? That’s impressive—very heroic,” he teased, leaning in with a grin. “And, of course, I’d be more than happy to patch you up afterward. I’ve got the first-aid skills covered…as long as you don’t need full-on surgery.” Sam chuckled, his arm slipping around her waist with a casual ease as he noticed a few curious relatives glancing their way. “And don’t worry, I’ll steer clear of any financial discussions. I’d hate for my 401k to disappear into one of your uncles' ‘business opportunities,’” he murmured, his tone light but his gaze warm as he looked at her.
“And when it comes to the ‘settling down’ questions, I’ll play along however you want. I’ll just tell them I’m here waiting for you to give me the green light,” he added with a smirk, his hand resting comfortably at her side.

Sage's nerves calmed down at Sam's playful tease. He always seemed to have that effect on her. A chuckle left her as he spoke and she tried hard not to roll her eyes at him. "Oh please. This is by design, Dr Turner." Not only did she trust him enough to masquerade him as her boyfriend, Sam's life choices seemed to work out to her advantage as well. She pinked at the mention of him being a son-in-law.
Sage wrinkled her nose at his cheeky jab. "While you're being my best wingman... don't get carried away and tell them your taxes. I mean, I have several uncles here who are in a pyramid scheme. They'd swindle you out of your retirement plan," she added playfully. Having Sam here was a last ditch attempt to stop the annoying questions pummeling her every year - “Single again, Sage?” “I don’t understand why a pretty girl like you is single? Who wouldn't want to marry you?” “Do you want me to set you up, dear?” At least for now, the questions will be directed at him. "Follow my lead though. And if they start asking about settling down or kids, you can just shrug and point at me. I'll take that bullet for you."
“You know, you don’t have to thank me every five minutes,” he said with a quiet chuckle. Sam took the champagne glass with a grin, giving her a playful nudge. “Good thing I’m a doctor, huh?” he joked, casting a quick glance around at the sea of Wolfgang relatives. “Brownie points with the family guaranteed. I’m practically halfway to son-in-law status just by showing up.”
He leaned in, his voice dropping just enough to add a conspiratorial edge. “So if anyone asks, I’ll make sure to throw in a line or two about stable income, future prospects, the works. Your parents will be bragging about you bagging a doctor by dessert.” Raising his glass to hers, he winked, his tone warm but teasing. “Here’s to keeping the Wolfgangs happy… and to my career apparently doubling as your best wingman.”

There was something primal and raw when David peaked inside her. His frame had trembled underneath her, his rigid flesh pulsating inside her walls triggering small waves of pleasure through the fibres of her being again. Satiation had settled deep in her core as the man bucked against her with his eyes rolling back with ecstasy. Sage had let out a contented sigh, laying on top of him. She refused to move away - she wanted to stay like this with David buried deep within her core, his ragged breath in her hair as it slowed down. She peppered his chest with small, gentle kisses trailing up to his neck and jawline. When her lips found the tip of his earlobe, she nuzzled against it. "I think you've spoiled me for any other person," she whispered, a lazy smirk had pulled onto edges of her lips.
David was lost in the feeling of his thrusts into her and he couldn't get enough of her. His mind was clouded by lust and he couldn't get enough of her. He didn't think nor want anything or anyone else. This was the greatest thing in the world for him and he could feel himself starting to get closer and closer to an orgasm. He watched her as she came undone with each time he slammed his cock and he couldn't bring it away from her. His heart hammered in his chest for her as he licked his lips for her. He moaned loudly as she bit on his shoulder. She was the most beautiful thing in the world when she came undone. He ran his fingers through her blond locks as he found himself kissing her again and again desperately. Finally David came undone for her as he yet again had filled her up deeply as his eyes rolled to the back of his head from the intense orgasm he received from her.

The plan was simple. Bring him here, pretend all they want, get her family off her back and by the time holidays loom over, Sage could announce their break up and make some excuse of nursing a broken heart - thus giving her an excuse to avoid any interactions. Such a perfect plan... Sage could feel warmth creeping into her cheeks when he complimented her. "Thank you. Although nothing stunning about a navy dress." An awkward chuckle escaped her plump lips as she wagged her finger at him.
Despite knowing him for years now and all the shenanigans he seemed to be getting himself into, Sage couldn't stop the somersaults her insides were doing. Just a crush, just a silly, childish crush. "Now, now, Theo. Channel all the charms towards my family instead." Sage had rested her hand on his, squeezing it slightly. "Be careful of this couple coming towards us," she whispered. She feigned a sweet smile as if to giggle at something Theo had said. "That's my Aunt Lysa and her husband, Uncle Ottis. If they ask you about when we're planning to settle down and have kids, tell them you can't wait and you want 6 kids." Sage gave him a mischievous grin, lighting up her cerulean hues. She pumped her brows and winked. "Might as well have fun right? I can't wait to see her eyes pop out in shock."
Family functions would have been a hard no from anyone else. Meeting the parents was a surefire sign of feelings being caught, and Theo had always had one foot out the door in every relationship he'd ever been in. Friends with benefits was where he thrived, and he found it simpler to keep things on that level. But he could do a favor for a friend, and for this friend in particular. She'd watched him fuck around for years. If there was anyone he trusted to know what he was really like, it was Sage.
If he was uncomfortable with the pretense, it would never show. He had an arm looped around her waist, an easy chuckle falling from his lips. "Don’t worry, we got this." He accepted the glass with his free hand, a deceptively sharp gaze sweeping the room. He was used to picking out good photo opportunities and potential threats more than problematic family members, but damn if the skills weren't transferable. He could practically put money on the ones that were going to be the most trouble for her tonight. "You have. Several times. Have I mentioned you look stunning?"

Sage was so close in losing her sanity. A hand had snaked down to cover his hand rubbing her bundle of nerves. The friction between them was overwhelming and the added sensation to her clit gripped her even more. The walls had clamped tightly around his cock, clenching and unclenching him. There was no need for words by now, nothing else mattered. Even his name was lost to her. The blonde collapsed once against on his frame. And as her teeth sunk into his shoulder, her body trembled, toes curling as she clung onto him as if he was a life buoy in a turbulent sea, feeling herself lost in an abyss in the ebbing rolls of her climax.
David was overwhelmed by a sense of lust and desperation for her. From which there was no escape and he knew that very well. Not that he wanted any. This had quickly become his new favourite thing and he simply couldn't imagine escaping from that. The truth was he didn't want to anyway. His entire body burned for her eyes and took in a long deep breath. He continued to thrust into her hard and fast until he heard her words. He had no idea that he had taken her that close to an orgasm with his erratic and hard thrusts. He looked into her eyes for a moment as he paused and gently slowed his thrusts. He then squeezed and fondled her breasts with one hand while making certain to rub her clit teasingly with the other as he continued to move in and out of her.

Sage whimpered as his swiftly plunged into her tight, aching core. Her eyes rolled as pleasure crackled and shook her being. Sage brought her hands to cup and squeeze her breasts. Her porcelain skin was now flushed, breaths hitched as he thrusts up into her over and over. Sage bucked against his force, grinding her hips against his, palms now flat on his chiseled chest as she tried to steady and meet his rhythm. Her walls clamped down on his thick length as she started to ride him, bucking herself on him back and forth. The blonde bounced up and down his length, loving how he filled her up and stretched her. David was driving her to the edge at any moment and Sage found herself gasping for air, collapsing on his frame. She was so close but she didn't want it to end just yet. "Slow down, baby," she managed against his ear, tongue darting out to leave a wet trail on his earlobe. Her hips were still undulating around his, her walls milking his throbbing member as she moved. Then she raised herself up. Sage guided one of his hands to her clit, moaning at the warmth of his hand cupped her breasts again, riding him faster again.
David was starting to lose himself with how she tasted and there were no more thoughts in his mind. He couldn't have any more thoughts for her. The only thing that mattered to him was the way he was eating her out. He let her juices continue to flow on his tongue as he lapped up every last drop. He didn't pause or try to stop as he continued to eat her out even after she had removed her mouth from his cock. Though she started stroking him and that brought him much pleasure as he continued to eat her out while moaning into cunt. He hoped that the vibrations from his moans would only add to her pleasure and how intense things were. He then watched her as she abruptly made him stop. He was puzzled at first by her actions as he then watched her straddle him. Which made him smile at her. He let his eyes travel down her body as she started grinding against his cock. Feeling her soaking wet cunt made him whimper and moan for her as he looked into her eyes. He then cleared his throat at her before finally responding to her. "As you wish. " He said to her. David had the same look of lust and desperation filled in his eyes for her as she did. There was a fire burning in him for her as he admired her. After a moment or two he plunged her on his cock as he suddenly impaled her with his shaft. He then buckled his hips and started thrusting into her hard and fast.

Her blue hues widened as he spoke of having a dozen mini humans. "Lord please have mercy on my womb if that ever comes true," she spoke, half horrified, half amused. Sage leaned in to Kaan's half embrace, heartbeat quickening. "Of course, I am keeping tabs on you!" Sage snickered, bumping her shoulder against him. "Just a minute ago, you wanted us to have 12 kids!" Sage couldn't help the warmth spread across her cheeks as she giggled. "Next thing I know, you're going want us to move to Scarsdale and worrying about taxes and the school system." She shook her head, still tickled by his teasing as her aunts approach. "As horrified as I am about our 12 imaginary kids, I say knock yourself out. I do wanna see their faces when you tell them about our plans for a football team."
discreetly, kaan fixed his collar, masking a quick glance over to size up the aunts in question. daunting... but not off-putting enough to weaken his confidence. " i'll let them know we plan on a herd of 12 children, at least. " lips twisted into a smirk, poking fun. reaching an arm around her shoulders, kaan gave her a little half squeeze, and chuckled. " you really do worry too much. i am beginning to think you're more worried about keeping tabs on me from saying anything too embarrassing. how much do you want me to sell this? i can go all out, if you ask me nicely. "

It had always felt he was the missing piece - the one piece that could make Sage finally complete. And many times she had found themselves in perfect sync, knowing what the other thinks, moving and maneuvering whatever life throws at them. Just like two perfectly carved jigsaw pieces only meant for each other. She giggled as he joked about beautiful women marking him but somehow jealousy leaked out from a perfectly shut lid. Sage turned away and made a face. "I hope I'm the only one who gets to do that from now on." She meant it - now that they're together physically, Sage felt bonded to him on another level. Her insides were squirming - a fight or flight response. Ever since Sage realised she had feelings for David, she had constantly chosen flight - to suppress her own emotions for the sake of their friendship. Now though, it seemed that they're way past that line. The fact that he didn't pull away from her to clean up was an indication he too, wanted to savour the intimacy they have now. He's an addiction, she decided - an addiction she'd gladly embrace. Sage brought a palm, cupping his cheek, her thumb tracing his cheekbone. "David," she whispered, meeting his eyes. The way he was looking at her made her light and weak at the same time. "I want something more," she confessed, hand resting on his shoulder. "With us that is... " She knew with their work, things get messy and dangerous but Sage didn't care. "if you'll have me." Sage let out a sigh, "But if you don't, I totally understand."
The high of orgasm he had received thanks to her hadn't left yet. It was the most intoxicating and agonizing thing in there for him. His body was covered with sweat from the passionate love making between them and he simply couldn't bring himself to pull away from her. Even now after the intense sex he didn't want to pull away from her. Simply staying pressed with her that way was much better than anything else. It felt nice knowing she had the same idea as she didn't seem to want to let him go either. He still could hardly believe that they had done this together and that she was his now. It was something he had wanted for a long time and it was now finally coming into a reality. He simply didn't want this night to end for he wasn't certain what the next night would bring them both. He hoped this thing between them would last for good. The truth was since he had gotten her now he didn't want to let her go. He wouldn't lose her no matter what. They matched each other perfectly. Even their movements were collective and intoxicating and he couldn't get enough of her. He found himself sighing softly at her words before running his fingers through her hair again. He loved how beautiful she was and he simply couldn't take his eyes off her. The truth was he didn't want to. He bit his lower lip and looked into her eyes momentarily lost in them. "Hey there beautiful. " He had responded to her. "It's okay. I don't mind. Besides I rather like having beautiful women mark me. " He said to her with a wink.

She knew the crowd they're working with - nosy, up in your face in the most probing manner. Sage hated these kind of parties, so having Lucky by her side was the only thing that kept her grounded. "A sky writer?" Sage feigned an impressed tone, scrunching up her nose. "The budget you must have to impress me, Mr Stirling. Consider me beyond impressed. Oh and prior to that, you laid out calla lilies at the golden hour for me to follow before the sky writing." The whole idea sounded a little too extravagant but who cares? The blonde chuckled, shaking her head. "Aunt Dolly sounds like a wildcard I aspire to be at her age. Except for the boyfriend aspect," Sage cringed. "I think I don't have much luck with that." When Lucky lowered his voice, Sage's hues widened as she craned her neck to see the people he was talking about. They locked eyes across the room and Sage put on a fake smile and waved. "That's Uncle Sam and his wife, Aunt Penny." She couldn't help it but squeeze Lucky's arm as if to assure herself. The tip of her fingers had gone cold. Sage's voice lowered to an urgent whisper. "They've been trying to set me up with this sleazy accountant of theirs. So you can imagine now they want to know the deets." She shuddered. "Follow my lead and if they start talking about babies or marriage, tell them life expectancy is going to increase significantly and we're in no rush to be parents."
"Ah, the carolling boomers. A staple in every American home come the holiday season," he chuckled, matching her tone. He could see an older couple at a table beside theirs turn towards them for a brief glance, and then turn back to their potato salad, which amused Lucky for a moment. "I think we've garnered a bit of an audience, I can't wait to tell them the story of how we got together. Spoiler alert, I hired a sky writer." He was only half joking and then tried to figure out which aunt she was referring to before his expression cleared and he realised. "Oh, you're not confusing my aunts. In fact, the aunt who keeps having new boyfriends and the one with numerous cats is actually the same woman. Aunt Dolly." He noted the same couple turning to them again and he lowered his voice. "Okay, and who are these people who keep turning to us?"

Sage noticed him biting his lower lip, his burly frame tensing briefly against her touch. She felt it too - that current. Funny how there were lingering touches all evening and yet only when they're alone, the effects could be perceived. Sage pulled away slightly as he grabbed the beer bottles, the sheepish smile still playing on her lips. Any memory made with him is better than anything else. She took one of the beers from his hand and took a good swig. Perhaps she needed more liquid courage.
He could kill her with that tone of voice, surely. When he cupped her cheeks and caressed them, she felt a warmth flush through her body from the center of her chest to the very tips of her toes and fingers. His gaze lingered on her tiers and that made her weak. In that moment of intimacy, she was entirely lost in the reverie of him. Sage leaned in closer, snaking her arms around his neck and let her fingers fold into soft tendrils of hair there. "I don't know about you," Sage whispered, warm breath playing over his lips. It was now or never. Her tiers brushing against his ever so slightly. "But I have been thinking of kissing you all evening," she sighed, almost breathless. Carpe diem. Her plump lips found his own and stole the sweetest of kisses from him. Not short enough to insinuate discomfort, but not to overstay her welcome, either.
David didn't know if the two of them could ever settle down together. He didn't know if it was something she even wanted. Moreover with him. But that was a risk he was willing to take. It was simple really. He cared deeply about her and the two of them were great together. It felt only natural for them to be together in a more intimate way. But nothing had happened between them as of yet. And he wasn't certain if it ever will, though he vert much hoped that it would. Hearing her words he nodded his head at her with a kind smile. "Ah I see. " He said to her softly before nodding his head at her.
David then stayed silent enjoying her closeness to him even the way she trailed her finger down his shoulder. Upon hearing her words he found himself smirking softly at her before laughing. "That's true I suppose. Maybe you should have gone for a different career missy. " He said to her with a smirk. But he was merely teasing her and she must know that. He got a scent of her perfume and her shampoo and he couldn't bring himself to look away from her. She smelt like cinnamon and strawberries and his heart started hammering in his chest loudly as he gazed into her eyes. It was as if a spark of current ran through him as she touched his thighs. His entire body shuddered for a moment before biting his lower lip. Hearing her words he smiled warmly at her before he gently grabbed a couple of bottle of beers. "Then we should make better new memories in here with the drinks. What do you say ?" He asked her with a smirk. One of his hands rested on her cheeks as he gently caressed her. His eyes drifted down and found itself focusing on her pink plump lips.

Was it foolish of her think that they could genuinely be a couple? This... fantasy of them just leading normal lives and not being caught in crossfires. Her family certainly thought she was too hopped up in her career to even think of settling down. She wondered if they were actually built for it - Sage knew at the pit of her stomach that she was too "adventurous" for her own good. Does he even want that? And with her? It was a bewildering thought. Yet, tonight somehow proved they could spend some time alone and just doing what mediocre citizens do- away from the chaos, away from life threatening situations, away from the Grim Reaper himself. "Hhmmmm?" She feigned innocence, shooting him a sheepish smile. "Don't mind me, I talk to myself sometimes." It's an embarrassing trait but she was sure he was used to it.
Sage leaned on the sofa as he spoke and she couldn't help but trail a finger absentmindedly on his shoulder. "Honestly, all of that is bogus," she said dismissively. "No one's expecting me to bust out Mozart to protect myself when they're swishing knives at me." Sage chuckled at the silly thought, bumping her shoulder against his. "You of all people know that." Sage sighed contently, looking into his dark hues. "Okay if you've none, I have one," she said, clearing her throat as she straightened herself on the couch to face him, her knee slightly bumping into his thigh. Suddenly she was feeling brazen. "Okay, don't tell my Dad but I had my first sip of alcohol in this very room." A hearty laugh spilled from her lips. Cringing as flashbacks flooded her, Sage covered her face, resting her forehead against his shoulder. "That was not a good experience," she sighed, combing her fingers through her tresses and letting her palms rest on David's knee.
David had never felt so comfortable as he did with her. It was a strange thing but the two of them seemed to fit in rather well with each other. He didn't know what it was but the way they were so good with each other and he simply couldn't get enough of the other. Perhaps that was why they had been able to fool her family so easily that they were together. It was easy and simple and in all honesty it didn't seem out of place in anyway or shape or form. Moreover her family had accepted him rather easily. He knew all about her family and he knew how snobbish and rich they are. But against all odds they were actually good people. He knew that deep down and from all the time he had spent with them. Her family were always kind to him and they always accepted him. Perhaps it was another reason for them to so easily convinced by whatever little act he and sage were playing. They were happy to get to consider David as part of their family.
He stayed silent as he let his eyes travel around the place enjoying the tour she was giving him. He stopped and appreciated and all the stunning renaissance paintings there. "They are beautiful. " He had murmured softly before finally clearing his throat at her words. He couldn't help but grin softly at her as he cleared his throat to respond to her. "Well it is my highest of honours to be your first boyfriend to visit here. Albeit a fake one." He responded to her with a charming smile. He then let her lead him into the study room and he found himself looking around for some time. Hearing her words he found himself clearing his throat at her. "Only a little bit. But they aren't all that bad I suppose. " He said to her. He could understand her reasoning for the life she regarding her family being one of fake. But he didn't say anything to her about it and he looked around the place more before sitting down next to her. He hadn't noted she had said something in french at all. He understood a little french but not too much. And it was hard for him to ascertain if she was saying anything under her breath. "Pardon but did you say something?" He asked her for some time. At her next words he found himself shaking his head at her. "There's nothing you don't already know. I am certainly not from a rich family and I certainly never had any french or piano lessons. " He responded.

Before tonight, Sage had been anxious about the possible awkwardness and the chances of her parents calling her out on her ruse. Yet, all of that was gone - completely disappeared without a trace. Sage couldn't explain it - they were pretending but yet they weren't. They were trying to deceive this whole lot of people and yet Sage felt that she was trying to deceive herself instead. She could be herself with him, no walls, no doubts nor worries because Sage knew he has her back. They had seen each other in the worst possible state and Sage wasn't afraid of what he is capable of. It was his heart that she was sure of. Her breath was caught in her throat when his fingers touched hers again but his warmth made her breathe easy. Sage found herself intertwining her slender fingers around his, relishing against his touch. Tugging him forward, Sage cleared her throat in a playful manner. "Well all right then, Mr Harrison. Here, down the hall, we have numerous paintings from the Renaissance era," she remarked, using her other hand to gesture at them like a bad tour guide. She led them down a quiet hallway. "You know, I think you're the first boyfriend I have ever brought into this house," she said softly before she caught herself. "Fake - I meant, fake boyfriend," she laughed nervously, hoping the dim lights would cover up the flush in her cheeks.
"You must really think we're a pretentious lot because God knows, when I was younger, I've always thought I was adopted," she rambled, still aware she was clinging onto his arm. "Sometimes this life didn't feel real. It was too... fake. I'm not even sure it's the right word." She had always considered her high society family living in their own bubble - unaware that their luxurious lifestyle was nauseating to most. They came towards a passageway and Sage perked up. "Oh, I haven't been here in ages." Sage tugged him closer as they entered a large study room. "I used to have tuition for French and piano here." She made a face. "Tu n'as aucune idée à quel point tu comptes pour moi," she muttered under her breath, peering at him before sobering up. She wasn't sure if he had caught what she even said. Sage sat at the large Chesterfield sofa in the middle of the room, gently pulling him down to sit beside her. "Tell me something I don't know about you, David."
David still vividly remembered the first time they met each other all those years ago like it was yesterday. He was out of the country having been posted in an active war zone this was back when he was still in the military of course. She had arrived there as their journalist correspondent. He had gotten to know her for a bit but the main aspect of it all came when he had to save her life from a few local insurgents who wanted to do her harm and among other things. Since then the two of them had been great friends together. And unfortunately it wasn't the last time he had to save her. There had been many occasions when he had to come in to save her. He only wished she wouldn't keep getting herself into life threatening situations but knowing her he knew it was extremely unlikely. For some time he found himself sighing softly at her words as he looked into her eyes. His heart skipped a beat upon hearing the statement that he was her hero. He rather liked being her her hero he must admit. He looked into her eyes for some time before chuckling softly at her. "What can I say , I have my charms. " He responded to her with a wink. That was one of the questions that had shocked him beyond belief and he had no idea how best to answer that. In fact he didn't know if he could answer that. But he had managed to convince them all to a lie and made it certain it was believable enough. "You know your mom makes a mesn Shepard's pie. I can't help but love it. " He responded to her truthfully. As the notes of the song she had told him about went in his ear he looked into her eyes for a moment. He stood up slowly after her but in truth he was already missing her touch. His arm which she had touched felt warm and he wished she wouldn't have let go. He desperately wished that she would hold onto his hand for far longer. His tongue darted out and licked his lips as his throat felt rather dry. David found himself smirking softly at her words as he gently reached out and took her hand in his to fill the gap he was missing from her touch. "I say lead the way my lovely lady. " He mused softly.

With him, she felt safe - granted he had saved her ass more than a couple of times now - she couldn't pinpoint to the exact feeling though Sage knew his presence made her feel that she could face anything in her way. David was perhaps the only one she could trust her life with. And perhaps the only one whose absence would rip her apart. It didn't help that she was too afraid to let him know how she felt. Sage feigned a pout and blinked at him. "You are my hero," she cooed before snickering. "I mean you were an actual champ. How did you even convince my aunt that we're taking it slow and that having kids soon is not at all plausible is beyond me." She half expected David to start brooding and yell at her relatives. God knows, she actually wanted to do just that when she heard that question. The audacity some elders seemed to have. She wondered if that came with senior age. Nudging his shoulder with hers, Sage reached out to squeeze his arm again but this time, she let herself linger at his warmth. "I knew you'd love the shepherd's pie." Standing up, Sage beckoned him to follow her. As if on cue, piano notes started playing in the drawing room nearby. The first notes of Manilow's Mandy started filling up the room. "Come on, Mr Harrison. I think it's time for an informal tour of the Chateau. What say you?"
David wasn't particularly mad or anything about all this. He was merely astonished and frustrated as to the things that had happened and the way he had been facing the tigers alone in their den. But in hindsight he couldn't be too upset about it all. He knew they only meant well and appreciated their intentions even though they are rather nosy. In the end he found himself sighing softly at her words as he gazed deeply at her. The good thing about all this he mused wasn't simply the food but getting to spend time with her. He had cared deeply for sage in his own way. It had been a long time he had loved someone this much but with sage he did so. He looked into her eyes for some time and found himself smiling warmly at her words. "Look at you enjoying at my expense. You should consider yourself that I am kind enough to continue to bear all these questions from your family all so you don't have to go through them. " He responded to her with a slight tease. He loved whenever she teased him just as much as he enjoyed teasing her. This was something he would never tire of. The blush on her cheek hadn't gone unnoticed on him. And that made his heart beat a skip. He hadn't said anything else to her as he looked into her eyes and nodded his head at her. "Great. I can't wait to sneak away from here. For now I suppose we should help us with the Shepard's pie. " He said to her softly.
