The question posed pricked at her again. Julia was reminded how tall of a wall she had fortified herself in, how she wasn't much of an open book unlike her elder siblings. Her lips pursed against the cigarette as she took an even longer huff. "They're family." Her answer didn't exactly hit the mark nor did it reveal any accuracy. In truth, her siblings were probably her only true friends despite the large age gap. Julia rolled to her back, pushing her long mane away from her head to let it spill across the pillow. She hummed and shrugged at his next question. "There are other clubs opening along the streets and its affecting business. So we're depending on other things." It was a half truth. She didn't need to tell Tylio that her sister was running a successful escort business and that her brother was using the club as a neutral meeting ground for criminal mobs to have business meetings. Her light hues flicked to him with a faint glint of curioisity. Julia reached over to the side table and put out her bud. Silently, she admired how open he seemed to be... almost as if he was... free. "Okay... here's one." She propped herself on the side, pulling the sheets up to cover her chest. "What exactly do you do for a living?" She had an inkling but there wasn't much talking when lust takes over and clouds over everything.
"Are you close with them?", he asked, because he didn't even know whether she had a good relationship with her family or not. Whether they knew where she worked, if they supported her or not. He wanted to ask her more about it, but then she said something else that kind of caught his attention. "What do you mean, what's left of it? I thought that place was doing fine." He didn't visit the club. Not unless it was to come pick her up, and even then he usually waited outside for her. The loud music, the neon lights, all the smoke, the smell of sweat and the feeling of artificial closeness...it was not his scene. Maybe that was why he hadn't noticed it was apparently going under. She asked him whether this line of questioning was a two-way street and he smiled. It surprised him, he didn't think he was going to get much out of her, much less have her ask him anything in return. "Go ahead. What do you want to know?"

"Raphael would be an idiot not to recognise you in your own rights," Nick replied, picking out the pomegranates, granule by granule. Any man underestimating Alcina would be an outright idiot. Nick wondered if he had developed a bias for her. His fingers were stained red and he popped one of them to suckle at the flavour. Somehow at the back of his head, he took a mental note to actually find Turkish pomegranates. This one was sourish. His ears perked up as her laughter pulled him back to solid ground. He has never heard her genuinely laugh. The sound was... so freeing, melodic and strumming in its own unique way. "You won't." His statement was affirmative.
"A normal life? What does that even mean at this point?" Nick mused gruffly, picking out more of the pomegranate and popping a few more granules into his mouth. He chewed them for a moment, eyeing Alcina's expressions. She seemed genuine, curious about his own thoughts. This wasn't some idle chatter she had lured him into. And the grimness lacing her tone was.... almost gone. And it struck Nick like a silent lightning bolt, stunning him. He faltered for a second, gaze still burning on her before he looked away in the distance. "You and I have never been normal," he finally spoke after a pregnant pause. His expression softened at the inaudible thoughts running through his head. "We've never been destined... for normal..." He raised his eyes to her, imploring albeit in a guarded manner. "I wouldn't have it any other way," he murmured underneath his breath.
That was the question, wasn’t it? How? Alcina put out her cigarette on the ashtray, before her hand went back to rest on the arm rest. Fingers tapped the wood absentmindedly. “I don’t know.” She simply said. There was no use in lying, not to Nick. “Octavia has taken a bit of a backseat. From what I heard, she got injured and nearly died.” Octavia and Alcina used to run in the same circles, once upon a time Alcina even considered her a good friend. But friends never lasted in a world like this.
“My father did a lot of damage and Raphael isn’t a forgiving man, but I’m hoping for some leeway.” She did kill her father after all. Maybe that would be enough to convince Raphael to give her a chance. To look beyond her being Alessandro’s daughter, to see her as the new Don bringing in a new era.
Alcina laughed. For the first time in a while, she laughed. “I did. Now I hope I don’t fuck it up.” It was rare to be vulnerable like this with anyone, but Nick wasn’t just anyone. Not anymore. She did not know what it was, but Alcina was sure of its existence by the way her heart skipped a beat when he looked at her, when she melted into his arms or asked for his opinion. “You ever wonder what it would be like if we were normal?” Alcina asked. “I mean if we had normal lives, normal jobs.”
#//is Nick slowly realising he has feelings for her? Yeah about fucking time lmao#thxoracle;alcina#nickinteraction#//not me flailing at the fact that Nick SOFTENED FOR HER AND LIKED HER LAUGH

Adra pulled away just a fraction, her lips still brushing against his when she spoke. "Aaaawww. But I had to try," she admitted, nuzzling his nose before meeting his kiss. It was one of the few things about Mason that was attractive to Adra — he was driven and that his base urges were not easily triggered despite being a temptation willfully. She reluctantly pulled away when she heard that stomach of his grumbled. "Oy vey. We need to do something about that," she giggled, scrunching up her nose. A tittered breath escaped against his lips and she nuzzled his nose. "I can't have you starving when you're with me. You're going to ruin my reputation, good sir." She untangled her hands, resting her palms on his chest and her forehead against his. "You need to eat." She wrinkled her nose at him again. "Come on. That cafe down the street has really good burgers and you can eat one... two... three for all I care. And I am going to force feed you if you dare say no."

Mason let Adra pull him out of the ergonomic office chair without hesitation. Then he smiled as she pulled him in, kissing her back with just as much distracted enthusiasm. His hands moved to her waist and then he was plopping her bottom on the edge of his desk, his body positioned between her thighs. Gently squeezing her waist, his kisses slowed before he said, "This isn't the kind of behavior that will get me away from the screens, Darling." He smiled against her lips before kissing her again and then his stomach grumbled hungrily. Food could wait if she wished, Mason was slow to warm to people, but touch starved as well. Adra's beauty was dull in comparison to her intellect, her patience with him a balm to his anxieties. Everything about her made him completely senseless and it was one of the many things he adored about her, her ability to turn off everything except his focus on her.

Open to f / m / nb 25+ Muse: Daniel Hargreeves | Civil Engineer / Part of the prominent aristocratic Hargreeves family in London | Pansexual Plot: Your muse and Daniel were in an on/off/on again relationship for quite a while but they had mutually agreed to take a break. (We can decide on what it may be later!) A few months passed and Daniel was sure y/m had moved on from him. He surely hasn't although he was just as guilty in maintaining no contact. Now he's at y/m's door step. Non mutuals, please READ my rules first.
What the hell was he thinking? Daniel's feet were already ascending the steps leading to their front door. Was it too late to back out now? The decoration, the porch... all of their memories together came back and Daniel's heartbeat was thundering in his chest, threatening to jump out of his throat should he dare to even speak. He rang the doorbell. So be it. If rejection were to meet him, then... at least he knew he had tried.
When the door swung open, their head peaking behind it, his heart sank slightly. His light hues softened. "I know I am the last person you want to see right now," he started, voice breathy and hoarse as if he had rehearsed this speech a dozen times in the privacy of his room, all pegged with notes, remarks of his own on how to improve on it. Funny how the sight of them made all of those rehearsals seemed meaningless. "I.... uh... fuck," he cursed under his breath. "I had a whole speech prepared but uh..." Daniel sighed, arms akimbo, obviously disappointed in himself. "I missed you, okay? I know we said we needed a break... then its radio silence... And I just... this whole no contact thing is driving me crazy." He sighed, ego deflated and defeated. "Maybe it's not... doing the same to you.. and I.. I guess I have to be okay with that... erm..." He struggled to form coherent sentences and Daniel gave up. He raised his light hues back up at them, eyes pleading. "Say something."
