Safariland liberator ear pro

All right, so this weeks post is going to be about a product that I just got a few days prior to posting this. This all ties back into my getting into night vision, I needed a set of ear pro that I could helmet mount. I wanted to get something pretty nice since I plan on wearing it a lot and the Safariland is what I went with after doing some research.

So the exact model that I ended up with is the Safariland Liberator HP 2.0 hearing protection in ODG. These come in at about 300 bucks for the standard on the head type and closer to 500 if you get the arc rail mounts for your helmet. One nice thing is there are plenty of discount codes online to knock that price down significantly. I ended up ordering mine direct from safariland because I wanted to use their specific helmet mounts, if you are planning on using the standard over the head or behind the head bands then I would highly suggest swinging by brownells website and grabbing them there using any of the great discount codes they over.

What comes in the box. That’s a great question considering how much money these cost. I do have a unboxing video on my YouTube of these if you’d rather see than read. Anyways I’m my case as soon I opened the box I was greeted with a bag that contained the behind the head suspension kit. Which in my opinion is nice that they include these with the helmet mount kits that way you can still run these without your helmet. Behind that is the ear pro itself, mine came with the helmet mounts already attached. Then once you lift the cardboard flap up you will find a black safariland cinch type gym bag and all the documentation and manuals on the ear pro itself.

Next I think it’s worth mentioning that like is said in the beginning, I just recently got these so I don’t have a ton of time on them. I did use them briefly a couple days ago but that’s about it. A couple cool features that really made me interested to these are the 3 different hearing modes, the up to 300 hours of run time, the speed change battery compartment which accepts 2 AAA or a sin for cr123 battery, and the ease of switching between helmet mount and behind the head suspension. One last really nice thing in my opinion is these come with a very nice set of gel ear cups right out of the box.

Overall I’m very happy with my purchase so far, the sound clarity has been great. You can send these back to safariland and have them fit it with either a single comm or dual comm setup for a fee. I do wish they had more than a 1 year warranty on them though. That’s pretty much the only gripe I have other than the obvious being that we want everything for less money.

Think I’m gonna pick up a Modlite hand light. The other harvest years I’ve just used weapon lights, but I would like something powerful that I can point at things without flagging them.

I was going to buy a Safariland holster for my Glock 45, but I’m gonna conceal it instead. I keep a long gun in my work area. I think I’m gonna run AR-15 this year just for weight.

Dammit, I love planning gear setups. Each situation requires a different kit.
