That's all very interesting. I very much only use either website to see if certain VA is in a certain anime or not, so I didn't even know you could put the roles in different orders lol
Every time I rewatch some episode of Boueibu HK I wonder again how the staff even planned this season. Like. Almost nothing meaningful happens with the characters
TLDR the characters with the most developement in HK are the monsters
Kyoutarou is there as a complete contrast to Yumoto while keeping the battle speeches so his characterization doesn't make much sense. Nanao is mere fujoshi bait. Taiju and Taishi have random bits of dialogue that hint at possible arcs for s2 but not enough to tell us what it really is. Maasa has an unfinished arc in his episode, where supposedly he's putting fatty butter in his cookies to make everyone else overweight because he resents Ichiro not defending him when they were little, but then his friends tell him it's fine and then he can move on??? This would work with Ichiro's theme of not wanting to be immature or dense anymore, except they only ever used this theme as a gag (misunderstanding the meaning of whatever the others have said) or to straight up humilliate him (ep4) and continue treating him like a stupid baby. At the end of the season Maasa and him have made peace somehow and that's it. Ata gets in my opinion the closest thing to a complete arc, even if it's just staring angrily at Kyoutarou for ten episodes, then explaining his problem while fighting him and finally getting his apology and reconcilliation. At least it's something. And poor Ryouma is just there to be the butt of a few jokes about how he lets Nanao and Kyoutarou use him, be in a couple of cute shippy scenes, and also for Ata to completely dismiss him from the flashbacks to the point where if they had first met in high school nothing would've changed.
The relationships barely have developement either. Love had anime episodes and manga chapters dedicated to the different close friendships solving their conflicts and becoming closer. There were also many instances of seeing how close the Hakone brothers-defense club and Beppu brothers' relationships were, and even though they didn't have any conflict between themselves, they made them strong sides for the final fight. Yumoto didn't get a character arc but through the entire anime he was revealed to be strong, considerate, forgiving and mature, willing to kindly befriend the Beppu twins for his brother but not let them walk all over him; contrary to how he was presented in the first episodes, like a stereotypical magical girl protagonist. Anyway in HK there's no meaningful conflict between any of them besides Kyoutarou and Ata. Taishi and Ichiro argue constantly but don't show to genuinely like each other after all like IoRyuu or EnAtsu did. Ichiro and Maasa never make any progress to be together again, Maasa hints once at liking Taishi and nothing comes from it, and Nanao and Taiju have the most artificial friendship in the cast that I just do not understand. They just ran an ice cream shop once with again unexplained success and make sassy remarks at each other ever since. And I guess Karurusu and Furanui had a bit of developement thanks to Kyou and Ata in ep12. Idk about the aliens, this time it's like they didn't do it completely well but also not as bad as with the rest of the cast. Maybe bc they didn't appear as much as the humans in most of the episodes
I'm realizing now that a few of these complaints are related to Nanao acting weird
Idk where to put this but I'd like to point out Kinshiro's principles of halting the fight with the Battle Lovers as soon as he finds out that the s1 conflict was set up for a reality show and actively defending them from an attack because they're Binan students, despite still not having received his apology from Atsushi. Ata might've done the same if the HK finale's events had gone in the same order (travelling to Honyalaland to fight Wao, then Kyoutarou apologizing to Ata), but he doesn't feel as a character as deep as Kinshiro in that sense bc they didn't really show him to be in other ways.
Love feels more like an actual group of people while HK feels like they were filling in friendship group roles or something
#boueibu#marine talks#i don't have much to say bc though i try to watch animes i find interesting with the boueibu seiyuus i don't know much about them#however i can say that i predicted kazutomi yamamoto voicing the riceballs in osomatsu-san#sadly i haven't watched s3 yet#i also try to follow when they act in idol stuff like enstars and i think io's seiyuu was in hypmic#i try to follow the stage play actors too in case anything they do is interesting

HIII if you don’t mind sharing, what are your fav klaroline fics? New and old, I’m in need of new reads 🙏
I'm probably not the best person to be doing new fic recs. 🥲 I have sadly not been reading that much Klaroline myself these days. When I do read fic, it's for other stuff. So my recs are either old or new-ish. 😂 But hopefully you can find something to your liking that haven't read yet here.
Buckle up because I took my sweet time with this list, nonnie.
. Inertia Overcome by @avari20
The first KC fanfic I remember reading the reason why I finally got pulled into the fandom after years of watching TVD as a reasonable spectator (so rly, if you guys can't stand to see me around anymore after all this time, it's this fic's fault for being so good). Honestly one of this fandom's statement works. If you haven't read it yet, please do.
. Timeless by @marvelouskatie
Same as the above. One of the most iconic KC fics of all time imho. The canon AU to end all canon AU. When I first decided to come out of the shadows and create a tumblr and actually start interacting with folks, this was the first fic that was recced to me. I was very grateful then, and now I'm here to pass this knowledge on.
. Picturesque by @supernutellastuff
Honestly of the sweetest, most heartwarming fics I've ever read! It's a human AU that's a How I Met Your Mother sort of adaptation, and honestly the first time I've ever enjoyed HIMYM. I love a good ensemble fic and this is just it! Supernutella is so talented.
. Quiet Light by @definedareasofuncertainty
This fic was WRITTEN FOR ME because of how much I pestered my friend Luiza about Carolijah and this will forever feel like a trophy to my heart. 🥰 It made me feel ALL THE FEELINGS. I hated Caroline, I loved Caroline, I loved my baby Elijah, I hated him, I also hated Klaus (he's such a fucking asshole omfg), but then the end was just DHAGHDDASAS!! You think you're in for a certain kind of story and it turns out to be so much more. It is, deep down, about the brothers, how selfish they are, how they can hurt each other more than anyone, but how they love one another above anything else, even when they want to kill each other (and fall in love with their brother's girl!!!). It's beautiful, like everything Luiza writes, and it genuinely made me cry.
. long limbs and frozen swim by @definedareasofuncertainty
I saw a discussion the other day about how whoever wrote this fic JUST GOT IT, and I have to say I completely agree with the person who made that comment. Luiza just NAILS Caroline's grief and loneliness after her mother's death, how isolating and gut-wrenching it is. Klaus being the person who finds her, who knows exactly what to say without her ever having to spell it out, the one who can truly see her, is so honest too. This fic is sensitive and absolutely beautiful. Luiza's writing is perfection and this is for sure one of my all-time favorites.
. Whisper to me, Help me remember by @lalainajanes
This story reimagines the plot with the "villains" of TO S3 in a way that proves my point that the premise of that season was good, but execution was absolute crap. All of the potential the De Martels had to be incredible antagonists was completely destroyed at the hands of the show writers - but explored to perfection by Laine's much more capable hands. Klaus is freed after 10 years in captivity to find that Caroline had been working with Tristan this whole time in order to take him down - except something is not quite right about that. While you're at it, please read all of Laine's fics! It's a delight.
. Into the Woods by @jinxedwood
I wept when I read this because it's the post-TO canon fic I didn't even know I needed. Caroline's search for a way to stop her twins' merger ends up leading her to someone who's been watching over her on the Other Side. 😭 I thought I'd always rather live in denial when it came to how TO ended, but this fic made my heart so full! Also, jinxedwood's use of fae mythology here was incredible.
. All I Need by @euvixen
This story is HOT. It taught me things about the werewolf AU universe I was not prepared to learn, but I am a much happier person after reading it. It's a canon mates AU that will leave you 🥵🥵🥵🥵 I speak as though the story was merely about the smut, but it's actually much more than that. A TVD S3 reimagine of sorts that is incredibly satisfying. That's my favorite season of TVD, but this is still even better.
. the birth and death of the day by @little-miss-sunny-daisy
Anyone who's known me for a some time knows how this fic was my entire personality for a while there. I'm obsessed with Kelly's writing, and I have this fic on a freaking pedestal. I first started reading it when it was on a six years hiatus, and I was *so* into it I didn't even bother me that it might never get updated because it was so good I was just happy I'd found it. But then my silly comments inspired Kelly to come back to it, finish it, and it has honestly been my greatest accomplishment as a part of this fandom because this is a masterpiece. It's a TVD/Supernatural crossover where Caroline is a step-sister to the Superbros. It's truly, truly epic, with beautiful writing. This could genuinely be a show. It's amazing, just read it.
. this is a harvest by @highgaarden
This, right here, is the perfect Klaroline-within-canon story. This is the story that put my revolt to rest and gave my spirit some much deserved peace where those two are concerned. This is exactly what canon should've been like. I'm not even joking, this is IT. If you'd asked me what I thought the perfect Klaroline development should be like I probably would've said something very vague because I couldn’t explain it, I’m not that great or creative a writer, but now I can just show you this story and let you bask in the amazingness of a fantastic read that will not only keep you thoroughly entertained, but will also be the answer to all the questions you didn't even know you had.
. Paradise Lost by Borzoi
When i grow up, I want to learn how to write like Borzoi. All of their fics are incredible novella-like reads. It's addictive. And this is probably my favorite (it varies though, sometimes I'm in a Parisian Deal era). What happens after Klaus and Caroline sleep together in 5x11, and how they eventually find their way back to each other. It's just one of those stories that you can't stop reading after you start. It's so rich, so deep, so perfectly IC. One of those fics to end all fics.
. The Stubborn Grace of Being Loved Regardless by @helpless-in-sleep One of the modern day classics, if you will. This fic is such a stunning, vivid and delicate picture of Caroline's mind as she was dealing with the consequences of the abuse she suffered at the hands of Damon. She's still human, but she's probably more IC than we've seen her ever on the show when it comes to this. The bond she forms with Klaus is truly incredible too, and speaks a lot of how the two of them really do have a lot in common (even with Caroline still as a human), but it's really the Caroline study part of the story that touches me. The writing is absolutely beautiful as well.
. it takes a while to settle down by theviolinist
This story is a punch to your stomach, but it is PERFECTION in 8k words. It's hot, it's bittersweet, it's SO in character and, in my head, I kinda like to pretend that this is what happened before Caroline married Stefan. lol
. Wanderlust by @bellemorte180 Anybody who was a part of fandom around the time this story was being published can tell you how much of an EVENT it was. There were discussion groups about the mystery. It was so entertaining. Erica's attention to detail and how she wove the little clues throughout the chapters made this a genuine thriller. I particularly some of the side-characters here. It's honestly another fandom staple I think everyone should read.
--
In terms of newer fics that I can rec you, I have two that are on my TBR. One of them is a WIP that I've been slowly going through, and the other one I know was recently finished.
. make them bow by @stars-and-darkness
This was recced to me by two friends recently and I started reading it a while back and thought it was incredible! I have sadly been awful with keeping up with stuff, but just based on the raving reviews and the five chapters I read, I fully believe it to be just as awesome as it seems to be. The writing was so good, and I was just in love with Klaus' voice in this story. It was so reminescent of early-days TVD Klaus, which is by far my favorite Klaus of all. Sexy and dangerous and so smooth. I loved it! Need to get back to it.
. Wolf Club by @Radioactive79
Listen, if you like kid fics, this is absolutely for you. The whole story is narrated by an eight-year-old OC, the daughter of Ray Sutton, the first werewolf Klaus kills when he's trying to start his mass-production of hybrids. She's a little wolf herself, and a while little thing who was subjected to her fair share of child trauma. Klaus has no idea what to do with her, but ends up taking her with him as continues on his journey, and ends up forging a bond with the little girl. I cannot tell you how delicious this story is. It has Klaroline, yes, but for me the little girl is the absolute star of the company. I usually hate OCs, especially children, in fics, but this one is AMAZING. Seriously. The way this story is written is glorious. I can't recommend it enough.
#klaroline#klaroline fanfic rec#klaroline fanfiction#yokan answers#it's been a minute since i wrote such a long rec list!#i know i have some followers that are new-ish in fandom so i hope this might introduce some old classics to them#honestly this is all better than anything i've ever written#i'm spoiling y'all#hope you still want to read my crappy fics after going through this list nonnie lol#long post

i'm kinda new to the chuggington fandom. i used to own the episodes on dvd but idk where they went. anyway! I figured it'd be cool to hear the thoughts of someone invested in the show, to get a new perspective on it, so i myself could become more invested! do you have any thoughts you'd share to an amateur train appreciator??
OMGOSH 👀 👀 👀 👀 👀WELCOME ABOARD!!!!! 🚅🚄🚈🚃🚂🚂🚂😄😄😄
I've been into the show since 2011-2012 I think... pretty sure before Cars 2 came out- or maybe after... memory's a bit rough in that area. I was first exposed to the show by my younger cousin who watched it on Disney Junior, or at the time, Playhouse Disney, and also had the DVD Let's Ride The Rails, which I now own, playing in my auntie's van one morning on our way to school. I would later track down Disney Junior myself to find the show.
It was pretty much the main reason I've hung around Disney Junior. As a kid who loved trains because of already being a Thomas The Tank Engine fan, it just to captured my interest so quickly and I was hooked.
I'd say the characters and designs are mostly what I love about Chuggington. While there aren't really antagonists in the show they all have their own quirks and distinction from each other which balances it out well.
Wilson is both my favorite to draw and favorite overall. While I haven't gotten to making my own scripts for my planned fanseries yet, his ADHD personality is just pure spirit animal energy when I look at how he's characterized by the show and by myself. I also relate to him to an extent in some areas. He's practically my son lol
The episodes are mostly well written, and miles better than Thomas was at the time... (*COUGH* SHARON MILLER *COUGH*)
Chris McHale's music for the show some of the most unique I've ever heard and the fact we don't have more of the show's score available in high quality than we do is a crime.
Production slowly went to hell since Season 3 onwards, due to investors pulling out for unknown reasons, resulting in S3 being cut from 26 to 14 episodes, Season 4 being rushed and strictly formulated towards the advanced training agenda, (but the episodes were not by any means terrible) and S5, while better than S4, was entirely funded by TOMY resulting in only 10 episodes. After that, Ludorum Entertainment was on the verge of bankruptcy resulting in the show being on hiatus for five years until Herschend Entertainment purchased them, but things weren't that much better.
Season 6 or Tales From The Rails is sadly where Chuggington truly dropped in quality due to Herschend's low budget and their inexperience with the show. Many characters and locations were written off and a number of the voice actor recasts were not too great. Not to mention occasional mischaracterization (mostly Brewster), continuity errors and overall rather shifty writing quality. The merchandise also plummeted in quality and the pandemic caused several delays, and this whole disaster ultimately led to Season 7 being cancelled as of November last year... 😔
While Season 6 was a failed comeback and is NOT fit to be regarded as canon to the first 5 seasons, it still has a decent number of episodes that are good to okay enough at best, and I do plan on rewriting the misfires of season 6 at some point.
Despite all the hardship this show faced, production, performance, and reception-wise, Chuggington is still very much an enjoyable and mostly solid series. I commend both Ludorum and Herschend for not going down without a fair fight and I've very much grown to love the show just as much as Thomas.
To the point where Thomas content is not my top priority anymore and hasn't been for some time now, seeing as thousands of people do Thomas content already while Chuggington content is very scarce and slow going, even with more people finally appreciating and warming up to it, since there's far worse out there nowadays... media ain't what it used to be so good f---ing luck... 😑
With all the moping and mourning aside, thank you so much for joining us, you don't know how much it means to me to have another person hyperfixating on this underated and criminally disregarded series, but it's important to remember that you don't choose the hyperfixation. The hyperfixation chooses you >:3
I am an artist, editor and headcanon writer, and slowly pushing to write up my own fanseries which takes place after S5, and I even have my own roster of original characters and locations in progress, one OC I've already revealed, and another that was actually created by a Tumblr buddy of mine, @lomotunes2008.
So make sure you follow my art account, @masterjarthub - with notifications on, cuz I may pump out surprises over there!
But for until then, welcome to The Chugger Cult! 🚂🚄🚅🚈😄😄😎😎
Enjoy your stay. 😊

barging into your inbox with some haikyuu thoughts bc i thought the shiratorizawa arc was already so intense and emotional but their game with inarizaki almost had me literally crying bc i’m just so proud of them !!
^ HE’S JUST LIKE ME FR 😭
i also wanted to ask who your fave characters were!! I think Kageyama has really inched his way to the top for me but Sugawara is also so precious (as are most of the characters lbr) 🥹
hello sorry this is a late reply to your ask!! BUT YES S4 IS REALLY GOOD 🥹 the match is sooooo intense and satisfying and i especially love hinata's big receive!! such a good way to wrap up his arc for the season 💕
omg fave characters... ok so i am a HUGE shiratorizawa fan, i watched season 3 in one go and LOVED it and got obsessed with it so fast. ushijima is my absolute favorite and i also love tendou and goshiki to pieces!! i even have a soft spot for the side characters in the team like semi and reon?? i just love s3 a lot, it's my favorite season hands down.
i didn't even think much of ushijima in previous seasons, i just remembered him as the guy from the "japan!!" scene and from anime twitter meme'ing him as pestering oikawa all the time. i think what really endeared me to him was 1) his backstory with his dad and his left-handedness and 2) him being actually a really cool and supportive captain despite his scary-looking demeanor! tbh i just really love the contrast of the intimidating outward aura vs. him actually just being very no-nonsense. i love how he's always "okay do your best" to goshiki whenever the latter challenges him (if you haven't seen it yet, i highly recommend this scene not in the anime). idk if you've read the manga chapters not covered by the anime but i especially loved seeing more sides to him after the s3 match.
tendou endeared me to him so fast bc of how goofy he is + the whole "guess monster" concept & the backstory behind it + his entire dynamic with ushijima, like they're besties but also such an odd pair. (tendou also has one of my favorite post-timeskip jobs!) and i love love how ambitious and hungry for success / validation goshiki is while still being a dorky first year.
sadly shiratorizawa is not very popular within the fandom so they don't get a lot of merch but i DO try to get my hands on merch of them whenever i can!!
tbh i think their relative lack of popularity is why i love them so much haha. i got into haikyuu back in 2020-21 when it was all over anime twitter, and back then the hyped characters were the aoba johsai boys (mostly oikawa and iwaizumi, still very popular today) and the miya twins (since s4 had just aired). tbh it's harder for me to love hyped characters bc the hype blows them up too much and i can't appreciate them in my own right... i went into s3 knowing nothing about it so i learned to love the characters on my own!
outside of stz my favorite characters are asahi and kageyama!! with asahi i think i just really loved his story of overcoming anxiety and pressure to claim the title of ace. his more reserved personality is such a nice contrast to the rest of karasuno! (and i also love his timeskip job!) and kageyama is just... so, so endearing to me. he's really just trying his best! his struggle of balancing wanting to be the best vs. looking after his teammates and bringing out the best in them too resonates with me so much. and while i've always liked hinata, i think i grew to love him more after reading the post-nationals chapters!
#goldennika#asks#haikyuu#stzposting#tbh part of the reason why it took me so long to answer this is that#i yap a lot when it comes to my haikyuu faves 😭#and i rly needed time outside work to write my thoughts down lol

supernatural s10e6 ask jeeves (w. eric charmelo, nicole snyder)
i looked her up because she reminds me of tissea from the witcher (spoiler alert looking her up apparently, i've been [sadly] bored to tears with s3 so i haven't finished it) but she was in coyote ugly! so i did recognize her. ish
s10e6 / coyote ugly - izabella miko as cammie / the witcher - myanna buring as tissaia
we got an spn / xfiles / the magicians / the killing actor! 🎉
and he was in the tooms episode of the x-files! (along with two others). and he was the faith healer in spn s1e12 faith, didn't recognize him at all with the sunglasses
the x-files s1e3 squeeze - kevin mcnulty as agent fuller / the magicians s2e1 km as knight of crowns / the killing s1e13 km as gas station manager
saw a gifset of this recently and spent plenty of time staring and rolling my eyes then. also, toxic masculinity/machismo is very much an issue in the culture but hello cuban coffee colada which comes with the ittiest bittiest cups (think basically creamer cups) for sharing. *pining for miami*
making my 😒 face at dean/writers right now
DEAN Bobby had secrets, man. Like loving on Tori Spelling. If he only knew Dean cheated on her.
cue my brain trying to dig up an old memory of 90210 character names
but no, apparently, her actual spouse Dean McDermott (m. 2006). dean knows this? i can't predict what pop culture stuff dean might know or not. (like interweb?) and like last episode where he didn't know who calliope was, yet he's supposedly read the odyssey?
from s4e14 sex and violence (my recap)
DEAN Like Greek myth siren, The Odyssey? ...Hey, I read!
just say no to dumbing down dean winchester.
also i don't think it's necessarily just sam's haircut that's so odd in this season, but it looks like it's getting blown out too. weird. it's normalish for his look in the front but very ~done~ in the back at times
just say yes to shutting up and watching, nic
s10e6 as heddy / new girl - gillian vigman as kim (schmidt's boss)
but there's more people i recognize 🥲 this is going to take forever. feels very... Clue-like
she calls them adorable, dean engages flirt-mode, sam makes a face. however! for what it's worth! i appreciate that as he's gotten older the rando side character women he flirts with are also regularly around his age or older
BEVERLY Oh but you’re welcome to spend the night. All the rooms sleep two.
HEDDY [slaps Dean’s butt] Or three.
i... okay. mad at the insinuation that sam and dean are sleeping together (?? do they know they're brothers or assuming married?? this show.), but happy about the butt slap/threesome offer?
DEAN You stay here. Keep an eye on Mrs. Peacock and Colonel Mustard. I’ll sniff around.
okay then. Clue it is
DASH Well Sam, I’ll let you in on a little family secret. We don’t really like each other. Then again, what family does? SAM Mine does. Uh, for the most part. It’s just my brother and me, so…
this is how the show has a chokehold on me. just when my commitment to watching every episode wavers, they're like oh but would you like to hear about how much sam and dean looove each other 🥺🥹
maybe toss sam a text before you go into the secret room
cute
is this all just an elaborate ad? lol
look at sam, sending a text to dean about the dude being dead. good job guys
HEDDY Did you see how long his fingers his fingers were? SAM There…there’s just. HEDDY First of all, did you see this? Look how long…
and then at this point in the screenshot she's saying 9 inches?? whaaat is happening
did someone get a ruler out. and measured his..... hand
this episode is a lot
HEDDY I knew those boys were trailer trash the moment they rolled up in that American-made. BEVERLY Not to mention homosexuals. HEDDY Ugh. Homosexual murderers. Like Leopold and Loeb.
guess we're just gonna ignore they're brothers now.
‘Scream’ Screenwriter Kevin Williamson Confirms Billy and Stu’s Queer-Coded Relationship Was Based on Real Gay Killers - huh, well thanks for leading me to that, wikipedia article on leopold and loeb!
DASH Then where have you been hiding all these years? OLIVIA The attic. AMBER Like in the movie.
Reference to Flowers in the Attic, which is a story about children born of an incestuous relationship, who are hidden away in the attic of a wealthy relative
i was trying to think of what it could be referring to that wasn't flowers in the attic because hello incest reference, but okay
SAM I mean….all those extra shots after the shifter was already dead. What was that? DEAN I don’t know. Target practice? SAM Come on, man. I’m serious. You sure it wasn’t….I don’t know, demon residue or something to do with the Mark, or...
demon residue made me laugh
dean getting defensive and weird, i'm sure he's fine
LOL all right (wiki)
Shortly before the episode aired, in November 2014, a Supernatural version of Clue was released.
what an odd episode.

Ok, this is like a cheat ask for your boring class, is there anything you've been wanting to post about but haven't yet? Here's an excuse to do it
ohh that's so nice of you thank you so much!!
sadly i don't have anything very deep in mind right now but i have a suggestion for everyone here, if you watch the first 20 eps of s3 with the idea that diego is marco's lover and that's what he refuses to tell francesca every scene between them almost makes more sense than what's canonically happening and i think that's hilarious
there's especially one scene (i can't remember which ep i've been trying to find it again for weeks now) where diego is mad at marco and there's literally no heterosexual explanation for this conversation this is SO funny, if i find it again someday i'll reblog this post to show everyone lmao
#thank you for the ask <3#i wish i had something more meaningful to say but my professor is killing my last braincells#when i'm tired my brain reverts to marciego apparently

I just ran into your anti Cordelia tag and wow, It's like picking my own brain. I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks she was turned into a big time Mary Sue, with INSANELY handy super powers in the exact moment they all need big ass saving. Apart from all the points you mention about her inconsistencies, I'd like to add another one. It's like in s3 they COMPLETELY forgot her actual age. She's supposed to be 21, and yet, she's written (and dressed) like a woman in her late 20s. I get that all the trauma the visions gave her may have made her mature a bit, but my god, it's like they did a complete personally transplant (though some of her bad traits remains - the self absorption, to name one). Thanks for the awesome posts, btw, they help with my internal venting while I'm on my gazillionth rewatch of AtS
Thank you so much for your words of appreciation!
Yes, Cordy in season 3 acts like she's in her 30s. I think it was mostly due to the role she played in the season - maybe she couldn't act "motherly", and like a higher being, if she was portrayed like a young girl, but it was also because she wasn't, and didn't look, 20 years old at all. She had two love interests who looked too old for a 21 year old girl too. None of the actors looked very young - apart from Amy Acker and J. August Richards who looked like they were in their mid to late 20s - the rest of them were in their 30s and looked it. And the characters themselves didn't act young. Angel was going to become dad to a teenage boy... Due to the general themes of the season they had to age up the characters, and they did this on Buffy as well. Of course, in Cordelia's case, it was like she became someone else. The other characters had been acting older than they technically were from the beginning, Cordelia included, but Cordelia aged further in season 3. Sadly, you could say Angel actually acted younger than he was in season 3...
I haven't watched Angel in a very long time, so watch it for me, okay? <3

in no particular order whatsoever, I present you some good queer media: ((very minor spoilers for some things))
- black sails! it's a series, 4 seasons, 30 something episodes total, I haven't watched it yet but someone just recommend it to me and it sounds amazing. they're pirates, it's got a lot of queer characters, characters of color, and it deals (really fucking well, from what I heard) with topics of racism, misogyny, cissexism, poverty and how all of these relate and how systems oppress marginalized people and a bunch of other stuff. there's also at least two different poly relationships (a triad and a V). also it's got legit really fucking good writing, like legit legit good.
- the penumbra podcast!! I have listened to this one and it's a fucking masterpiece. it's got two main storylines; the first one (Junoverse) is a noir detective type but it's in Mars in the future (with a non-binary he/him bisexual lady as a main character and it deals (really well) with a lot of mental health issues, mainly depression) and it turns into space pirates in the third season and I think there's only one canon cis/straight person in the whole thing everyone else is queer and the other main storyline (Second Citadel) is more classic fantasy knights and monsters with a lot of questions of morality and "what's really a monster" and a poly relationship (and scaley monsterfuckers) and honestly a lot of queer characters
- Welcome To Night Vale!! I feel like this would be right up your street, honestly. it's a podcast, it follows a radio show from this town, Night Vale, where a lot of really weird supernatural shit happens, and the radio host, Cecil telling us (the town) about what's up. it's really fun and weird, it's not scary at all if that's a concern, it's very explicitly queer (in the very first episode Cecil falls in love with a man and tells the whole town about it) and it depicts a very healthy gay couple and great character development and it's honestly really fun, you get to know a lot of the townfolk and their stories and it's great
- The Adventure Zone! it's an actual play podcast, the McElroy brothers (you may know them?) and their dad play d&d. they just finished their third campaign and are starting the 4th one this week I think. the first campaign is by far my favourite. it starts kinda rough, they're playing dnd for the first time and the story and characters are pretty weak, but by the third or fourth arc you can tell how much they've learnt in the process. the fourth arc is where the story starts picking up and by the end (there's 69 (ha) episodes divided into 8 or 9 arcs) you'll be sobbing your eyes out for the last ten episodes. it's classic dnd fantasy stuff with at least three explicitly queer relationships (one of the main characters is gay and in a relationship) and w at least one explicitly trans character. it was their first time, they tried and did fairly well tbh. the second campaign is shorter, settled in modern real life Kepler, West Virginia where basically cryptids are real and the main three kill monsters in a monster of the week type of thing. (one of the main three is bi and in a queer relationship, there's one nb they/them character). and the third campaign just finished, it's real fun too, three college students of a heroes and villains school, in a (fantasy) world where heroes and villains are like A Thing and The System sucks and the message is basically to overthrow capitalism lmao
I swear I consume more media than just podcast but rn I just can't think of any...
also not exactly queer media but:
- Phineas and Ferb, it's a classic, you probably watched it on TV as a kid (I did) but it merits a rewatch
- Gravity Falls, same thing, I'm still not over how fucking good this show is
- Steve Universe, I know things got heated up in the fandom at some point but I ignored the fuck out of everyone and enjoyed it anyways because it's good
- how to train your dragon, they're all good okay, they are, watch them again
- Big Mouth. you're like 15 right? you can watch big mouth, I highly recommend it, it's really good. it's for some queer characters but they're even the main focus of some episodes/storylines, but it doesn't even matter, the whole series is just really good.
- Megamind, it's probably better than you remember
- also, you're into star trek right? have you watched discovery? I haven't watched s3 yet but it's good
I went completely off the rails halfway through this but still, hope you check out some new thing!! (and if you do post about it, I wanna know) (also can you guess who I am? I feel like it's kinda obvious sjsksk)

Thank you!!! I really like WTNV, and I've been meaning to watch/listen to those other ones! And I never actually watched Phineas and Ferb, but I've heard it's good. Gravity Falls and Steven Universe are both on my list! And I hella hyperfixated on HTTYD in sixth grade. Megamind is amazing!!!!! And I sadly can't watch Disco cuz I don't have Paramount+, but I wish I could!
And surprisingly I can't guess who you are but that's probably due to me being a dumbass who can't really tell typing styles apart

Thank you for your kind words! Really means a lot to me! (Really, really a lot!) And while I haven't seen any of the others, is there one you'd recommend I start with? I'm shocked by 1. Europe officially went crazy and countries who went to war with each other twice in the last century all collectively agreed this is the hill they all love and die on, and 2. Just how welcoming this fandom is to remakes? And this idea of parallel universes, so beautiful! In every universe indeed!
(You’re welcome! 😘 I get it!)
Ohhhh god I’m so excited for you ❤️ if you haven’t seen the original then for the love of all that is good and holy god watch it immediately. If I had the chance to watch it again without having seen it... oh my. It may be low budget and understated but that’s why it’s so beautiful and brilliant and it is honestly, truly just one of the most genuinely wonderful tv experiences I’ve ever had. There’s a reason so many remakes exist... I’ll let you choose where you start in terms of seasons but I’d recommend watching s1 100% but you don’t necessarily need to watch s2 before s3 if you don’t feel the absolute need as Isak really isn’t around. But you need to know Sana... and Jonas and Isak and Eva etc so s1 is a must and it’s also so great. Their s4 suffered a little at times but good god so much of it was beautiful (some of my favourite ever Skam clips come from this season) and the last episode makes me cry so much.
As for others, I can recommend ALL season 3 remakes. 100%. They’re very different but just so special in their own way.
I’d recommend Skam Italia in its entirety. I loved all 3 seasons to death. And if anything, Giovanni GaraU, the god that is, is heavily featured in s1 and you MUST know him... also the girl and the boy groups are so stellar. Season 1 is beautiful. Their s2 is one of my favourite things in the world and Martino Rametta is my favourite Skam Universe character (they remade the original s3 as their 2nd season). Their 3rd season about Eleonora is one of the only original s2 remakes I love and I genuinely enjoyed it even if the show was undergoing a little upheaval...!
Skam France s1 was fun and I enjoyed it especially for getting to know the girls and Lucas. I really am not at all a fan of Skam Fr s2 except for Lucas and some of the scenes with the girls because as much as I love Manon, I really cannot stand Charles but I’d recommend watching it all because their s3 is GORGEOUS. Lucas is just another level Isak with his own awesome personality... and Eliott. Oh Eliott is a dream, he’s the loveliest. Their s4 was so lovely. Again, it was controversial but I’ll let you make up your own mind. Imane is a dream too, she’s wonderful.
Wtfock, I haven’t watched all of s1 yet (I need to) but their season 2 was wonderful, they changed quite a bit subtly and it made all the damn difference. Senne and Zoë are the other s2 remake couple I love. It’s an emotional one though!
Druck is a bloody great show. Their s1 was lovely. Their s2 was different again and some of it v powerful, Mia was so different to Noora (the original) and it was better for it. It was harrowing at times but just excellent. Their s3 was very very different to the original but absolutely worth your time and love. I have my own opinions but it is adored by many and some clips are just so beautifully and sensitively done, it’s precious. Their s4 was a lot of fun but sadly cut too short... but they do ensemble stuff very well and it ended in such a beautifully poignant positive way.
Skam Espana is only onto s3 now. They did the classic s1 which was very different and tons of fun! Their s2 was a remake of Isak and Even but with ladies and it’s just SO GOOD. Cris is an entirely new take on an Isak and Joana is a total revelation. Their changes were so meaningful and powerful to me and their relationship is so beautiful.
I’ve tried to be as helpful and vague as I can be without spoiling too much but honestly, watch them all and make up your own mind! But start with the original. Absolutely. Immediately.
I’ll reblog the master post with social media included for you so you can watch it ❤️
The parallel universe idea is from the original. Isak, without realising, knew all of these parallel versions of him existed and the remakes aren’t remakes to Skam fans 😂 they’re parallel universes just because Isak Valtersen said those inimitable words! The whole concept is just magical and Julie Andem, who wrote Skam Norway, had no idea what she was creating by writing those words. Hence all of the parallel posts and my #parallels tag! The remakes love to pay homage to the original and there’s a few things you’ll see they ALWAYS include aka their first kisses are heavily themed around one particular thing (trying not to spoil!) etc
If you want to ask anything, drop by. I’m usually able to answer most stuff but lots of lovely folks can help otherwise! ENJOY!
(And if Skam is the thing that keeps us from WW3 in Europe then Christ help us)
