soccer family Miguel meeting wife’s family for the first time and vice versa?
Oh dear. What a bumpy ride. 🙃
Bit of angst in the end. (Will do her meeting his family later, don't worry ~)
Pt 2 here
Teeth pulled at the inner soft skin on your lips, chewing and biting away the waves of raw anxiety that washed over you.
"Stop that. You'll hurt yourself."
Miguel mumbled as he drove to your family's home. It was an unsettling surprise for you to know that your family wanted to meet him. But what truly surprised you was the fact that they knew.
Ever since you moved out from your family's home at 18, many things stopped happening. Fights, verbal and emotional abuse that went both ways, the constant comparison to your other same age family members and you, and of course, you being pushed around and invalidated.
College was a different kind of freedom for you. And the start of a new life without them. You barely visited them, even skipped the most important holidays to be away from them. In a way, it was thanks to that that you met Jessica. She had been a wonderful support on your life.
"I know... just-"
His large hand covered yours to then give a kiss on the back of your palm
"You'll be fine. And if you don't feel comfortable enough, we can go."
"I'm uncomfortable already and we haven't even arrived yet."
"They can't be that bad"
You deadpanned and sighed.
"Corazón, look. I know family's difficult. I really do, but a couple of hours won't kill you. It's a good chance to prove them wrong."
"I've got nothing to prove them, Miguel."
"Right. Still, won't be a bad idea for them to see you doing fine. Talvez asi se callan el hocico y te dejan en paz" (Maybe that way they'll shut the fuck up and leave you alone)
You giggled at his words.
In truth was that you told him everything, it was sort of sad yet amusing that you bonded over trauma sharing. It was a mutual catharsis that somehow ended up strengthening your relationship. He didn't know them, but for the things you had shared with him, he knew he'd be curt and polite.
You'd warn him about their modus operandi. They'd present themselves as kind and welcoming, but bit by bit the snide and passive aggressive remarks and comments would show up. You had hope that after years of barely visiting they'd change.
Something you were about to find out as he parked outside the colonial looking home.
"No matter what, stay away from the Horchata. My auntie thinks she is good at it but... it's yuck."
He chuckled and soon, you'd get out the car. Miguel rubbed your shoulders soothingly in an attempt to ease your restless nerves.
----
"Buenas gente" (Hey, People)
One of your elder aunts, the only one you truly liked and always supported you back in college came to greet you with a loving hug, "Mija!"
"Hola tía" (Hey auntie)
You hugged her back and mumbled a quick 'I missed you' before letting Miguel come into view.
"Tía, This is Miguel. My boyfriend."
Auntie gasped at the sheer size of him but gave him a gentle smile.
"Nice to meet you, mijo."
"El gusto es mío, madrecita" (The pleasure is mine)
"Oh! He speaks Spanish!"
The two shared a brief laugh as auntie invited you further. With a hand Miguel held a small present, a bottle of your dad's favorite rum and bunch of roses for your mother. and the other one he held your hand.
It seemed like a regular carneada for him, except that this time there wasn't meats to roast, but soup. Your mom's special seafood soup that was only done in special occasions. You could tell it would be difficult to leave emotionally unscathed when your mom and dad, three aunties, two cousins, and your brother were there.
Upon you making an appearance before all of them, the world stopped for a second, your breath was caught in your throat as you mentally prepared for the game of pretense.
"Mi niña! Come here!"
Your dad followed by your brother made the first ones in making an approach. The size difference sure was shocking for them all. Your father and brother had to crane his head up to see Miguel.
"¿Qué tal? Un gusto conocerte." (How's it going? Nice to meet you)
Miguel shook his hand with him firmly, something your dad approved. And then Miguel handed the packaged rum to him.
He had explained how you'd told him about his favorite drink. Your dad invited you and introduced Miguel to the whole family.
Some of your cousins oggled him shamelessly. Earning a frown from you.
However the biggest challenge laid ahead. Your mother had been watching both from afar, tending to the food with some of your aunties.
And when it was her time to be greeted, you held tighter on his hand. His thumb rubbing on your skin, reassuring.
You'll be fine.
"Mamá" You mumbled and her so ever deep stare settled on Miguel. Not even in you first, but Miguel.
"Fo you, Ma'am" Miguel gave her the roses which she took with a strained smile.
"Thank you very much. Miguel was it, right?"
"Así es." (Correct)
"Are you hungry? Made your favorite soup."
Her stalking gaze shifted between Miguel and you.
"Thanks. A bit would be nice."
"Hm. Go sit, Miguel. We'll tend to this."
Her gaze returned to the food and you nodded at him. He wasn't comfortable with the idea to just sit and watch. But by the things you had told him, it was better to not create unnecessary drama for you.
-----
Everyone seemed at the expectance of something happening between you and your mother. Your brother was trying to make casual conversation with Miguel, but his curt and simple answers made him desist. Plus, it didn't help his mahogany eyes seemed lighter.
If they were nervous about him looking so big with deep red eyes, they'd surely freak out by his fangs. It instantly made your stomach churn, you knew Miguel didn't appreciate people pointing at his insecurities so brazenly, even worse without knowing him.
Everyone sat down, a little blessing before anything and soon the feast begun.
Of course, eyes were settled on both of you and your interactions. Miguel followed your instructions to then help you break the crab.
One of your aunties smiled at it.
"So, Miguel, where do you work?"
Here we go
"Lab Manager at Alchemax."
Your brother whistled and nodded approvingly, just like your father.
Your relationships with him sure was strained, but at least he seemed to have a bit more self criterion than the rest when it came to pick sides. You'd rather him neutral. Just like your dad.
"Wow, you surely outdid yourself this time, cariño."
That cariño sat sickly fake in your stomach. She was the one that always instigated the fights further when you thought everything would calm down. You didn't smile, just ate.
Miguel was given a beer, a round of collective gasps as he tried to open the beer with his fangs. Your other auntie made a cross sign on herself and your mother's eyes widened.
A custom you still couldn't get out of him.
"Do they hurt?"
"How does one get those? They look so cool!"
"Are they comfortable?"
Your eyes caught the glimpse of him tightening his grip on the spoon.
"Ya pues!" (Knock it off!)
"There is no need to yell"
Silence immediately came to the table as your gaze and your mother's clashed.
"Disculpa eso, Miguel." (Im sorry for that, Miguel)
your dad shook his head at your cousins.
"Do you plan on having kids?"
You couldn't help but hide your face in your palm.
"Mamá, stop."
"What? I just wanna know! You're getting old enough to have kids. And Emanuel is always asking about you."
"We haven't discussed it yet." Miguel cleaned his hands with lemon, rinsing away the fishy smell out of his fingers. The coldness in his voice only matched your mom's icy stare.
"Oh."
"But do you want to have kids, Miguel?"
"Dios mío, ma! Ya basta." (My god, Mom! Enough.)
"Why are you so mad over a question?"
Miguel's jaw clenched. It made sense for him why you didn't visit. The way you rolled your eyes, made the ones that had finished already to stand up and leave. Their cue to leave things unfold.
Your elder auntie seized your mom with a glare. Your dad only recoiled to himself and your brother sighed.
"Ma, eso no se pregunta." The only attempt of him to calm the boiling tension between the two. (Mom, you don't ask such things)
Miguel gave you a 'do you wanna go now' stare. And you shook your head. Leaving would only make things worse. But you found the perfect excuse to leave the table.
"Need help, mi amor?"
"Sure."
He was perceptive to pick up your cues, the both cleared up the table and took the dishes to the sink.
---
"I'm so sorry you had to put up with it." You mumbled as you washed and he dried. The kitchen felt tiny for him.
"S'fine."
"Are you mad?"
"A bit uncomfortable. But no, not mad."
"We're leaving after we're done here." a deep sigh escaped your lips, "This is exactly why I don't come here."
"Whose Emanuel?" You groaned and shook your head.
"A man mom thought it was fun to pair me with a long time ago. I never indulged him but he never got the memo ever since I left this place"
"Sounds like he never got over you."
"Yeah, cause mom kept feeding his hopes of me getting with him together."
"Is that why you moved out?"
"One of the reasons, yeah."
You finished the dishes and Miguel excused himself to the bathroom.
He could hear the voices from the other side. One of your aunts surely and your mom.
"I give them a year."
"Did you see his... fangs? I've never seen something like that! And his eyes too!"
"Esta niña... Me va a sacar canas verdes. From all The guys she could pick, she gets one that is twice her size. Why she can't pick up normal guys?" (This girl, will get me green hairs)
Miguel's eyes turned apprehensive as his mouth settled in a straight line.
He had to hunch over the sink to take a look of himself in the mirror. He looked pretty normal, by any standards, until of course, he smiled. Pointy canines bigger than the average people stood out the most. His eyes were a different shade of brown. That was all.
He was fine.
He was normal.
He knew things like this would happen, he expected a bit of trouble. Not this.
His head felt heavy. Sudden spiral thoughts plagued his mind, corrupting the good things he held dear in his mind.
"As long as he's rich, don't care."
"Emanuel's surely richer than him"
That was the final straw. He knew you weren't that type of woman. Hell, you had invited him multiple times, knowing that you'd get broke for a couple of weeks. And still did it anyways. You loved to pamper him.
Why?
His steps guided him back to you. You were stressed and surely would cry at night. But so far you were keeping it together.
Your heart sunk a bit when looking at him. Neither of the both could stand being a second longer in the house. He followed you as you said your goodbyes. You didn't hug none but your elder aunt, and your dad, though the latter got an awkward hug.
You went back home. Neither of you said much during the trip back.

Servamp headcanons, ice cream edition! Because my grandma got an ice cream maker and we’re all super eager to try it out but then she broke her back (she’s fine, don’t worry)
Mahiru: plain old vanilla. Misono introduced him to vanilla BEAN ice cream though and he’s feeling a little guilty about wanting to splurge a bit for the more expensive, creamier stuff… Kuro is an enabler and his encouragement is the only reason he’s still managing to resist. Just do it Mahi!
Kuro: Cookies and Cream is his favorite, but he’s also partial to cookie dough, or crumbled chocolate mint cookies as topping. He likes both the taste and the texture
Misono: chocolate lol. He’s predictable. His absolute favorite though are those ultra decadent brownie batter type of chocolate ice creams. Yknow the ones. Chocolate pieces, brownie bits, hot fudge swirl… He gets sick off the stuff easily though, so even though he loves it, self control is everything
Lily: vanilla bean with strawberry topping and cheese cake bites! He loves fresh strawberries in his desserts, and often he and Misono will trade bites if they’re getting flavor fatigue. Also very rich but the strawberry helps cuts through the sweetness
Tetsu: a Basic Boi who loves GariGariKun the most. Prefers popsicles over dairy treats. Yeah technically this isn’t ice cream but like. It’s the taste of summer and after bath refreshments. I’m not taking that from him
Hugh: vanilla with hot fudge sauce (and/or blood). He still prefers his chocolate parfaits, or better yet for this scenario, a milkshake
Licht: yknow those ultra sweet cotton candy flavors? If it’s ice cream by itself, he loves that. But if it’s a float, it’s gotta be vanilla in melon soda. If you take him to marble slab or similar place that lets you mix in a bunch of toppings, he will make a beeline for the gummy bears. Gets disappointed every time that they turn hard and unpleasant to eat, even though he already knows the outcome
Lawless: he has two favorites. Coffee bean (distinct from just plain coffee flavor) and moose tracks. I’m not sure what that’s called in other places? Basically it’s vanilla with peanut butter cups and fudge. Only goes for this when he’s depressed, if I’m honest. Otherwise it’s too sweet.
Mikuni: haagen daz amaretto almond crunch and their hojicha latte flavor. Forever sad that the former was limited edition and doesn’t make seasonal returns. It was absolutely perfect for his and jeje’s terrible Netflix movie nights (with the occasional appearance by johannes so they could make fun of the bad science together)
Jeje: since Mikuni only buys haagen daz (spoiled pretentious shit) he’s grateful they a rich pumpkin flavor that becomes available during autumn. He also really likes horchata milkshakes for the comforting taste of cinnamon.
Iduna: Tried butter pecan once and was hooked. The crunchiness of the pecans is her favorite part. It’s her go to for when Haagen Daz Creamy Vanilla Pudding flavor isn’t in season. Back home, though, it’s got to be the rather… Unique. Salty licorice flavor. She gave some to shuuhei one time just to watch him gag. She knows what she’s doing to that poor boy.
Freya: the simple freshness of strawberry ice cream is her guilty pleasure. She been thinking of making her own with an old hand churner. It would be fun, right? And it’s not like it would be difficult to get the ingredients she needs.
Nicco: Pistachio gelato, though he also enjoys the tartness and slight bitter aftertaste of limoncello flavor. He likes taking Ildio with him whenever there’s a new flavor he wants to try but isn’t sure he’ll like. Even if he doesn’t care for it, his servamp probably will. Does that make him mean?
Ildio: No preference as of yet. He’s still figuring this whole… Tasting your food thing out
Tsubaki: as expected, he loves matcha and red bean flavors. REALLY excited some of the Hagen daz hanamochi series is becoming a permanent flavor
Sakuya: rocky road. Sweet, crunchy, and a little bitter on the back end from the chocolate. Refuses to admit it but he also enjoys the hanamochi series. He’s stubborn. Whenever he wins a free popsicle he gives the stick to Mahiru, so inevitably when they hang out, that’s what he buys if they stop at the konbini, just for the chance to maybe earn some good boy points with his best friend and crush. And he thinks he’s subtle—
Reblog with your own headcanons! I love seeing what people add to my posts :3

peaches from the June prompts -OR- endless freckles from the Summer List. AU! 🙏🏼
Xx
Tumblr media
They’re only three weeks into the season before Alex declares that the man that sells peaches and honey three booths down and across the aisle from him is a real fucking problem.
Alex has been attending the Barton Creek Farmers Market for as long as he can remember, sitting on a stool while his abuela sold agua fresca and horchata in the summer and Mexican coffee and hot chocolate during cool fall mornings.
She’d let him help when he got a little older, taking money and making change, filling cups with ice, and squeezing fresh limes.
He loved being there and spending time with her. She had this way about her, treating first-time customers like old friends and regulars like family. She loved to make people smile. She loved the community. She loved Alex, kissing the top of his head and slipping him twenty dollars, a life-changing amount when he was six, for his hard work.
Then he got older, and other things took precedence. Studying, sports, and girls…he didn’t have the time or desire to get up early on a Saturday morning and sit beneath a tent in one hundred-degree heat.
She said she understood and that he was becoming his own person and finding his path. There were no hard feelings. He still loved her, and she loved him, and he’d still get twenty dollars in a card sent to his dorm at UT at the end of the season.
Abuela passed the winter before he graduated college, and a few weeks after graduation, he got a call from the market organizers asking if he’d be taking over her booth.
“What kind of guilt trip is that?” Alex asked June afterward, tipsy on tequila in his small post-college-pre-job apartment. “She put me down as a contact, she knew that they’d be calling. What am I supposed to say, never mind, let my grandmother’s beloved business fucking rot?”
“I wouldn’t say it exactly like that, but yeah,” June had said. “You’re not under any obligation to continue.”
“If I don’t, then who? You? Dad?”
“No one,” June said. “Sometimes things just end. It sucks, and it’s sad, but it’s the way things go. You should tell them that she loved attending and being a part of the market and that our family appreciates the offer, but you’re not in a place in your life where you can make that kind of commitment. Simple. They’ll understand.”
Alex shook his head. “I can’t do that.”
“Why?”
“Because I already told them I’d be there. The market starts in two weeks.”
That was five years ago.
Now, Alex lives in an understated but pricey loft downtown. He works at a law firm that offers enough pro-bono work that he doesn’t feel like his soul is dying and contemplates going into politics each time a politician does something stupid, which is almost all the time. He dates and hangs out with his friends, and every Saturday morning, from nine to one, he sells drinks to market-goers behind the Barton Creek Mall.
“You’re going to cut your finger off.”
Alex looks down at the cutting board where his index finger is dangerously close to the paring knife he’s using to slice strawberries.
“Told ya,” Nora says from her perch on the stool.
“Fuck,” Alex says as he puts the knife down.
“Please don’t swear,” June says sing-songs through an over-the-top smile as she passes a family with three small kids their watermelon agua frescas. And please don’t cut your finger off.”
“Yeah,” Nora agrees, “the hot paramedics aren’t even working today, so it would be a total waste.”
“Not that he would care,” June says, “he’s been staring at Henry for the past three hours.”
“I have not,” Alex snaps, “and how do you know his name is Henry?”
“Because we’ve actually spoken to him instead of staring at him like a big creep,” Nora says.
“Aren’t you supposed to be helping?” Alex asks.
“I am. I crunched the numbers. Did you know that raising your prices by just ten cents increases your earnings—.”
“No, no,” Alex interrupts, “I don’t want to know, I don’t care. I’m not in it for the money.”
“Everyone is in it for the money,” Nora deadpans. “Even rich lawyers. Hell. Especially rich lawyers.”
“I’m different. This is how Abuela Lina and I’ll continue to do it this way, too.”
“Yeah,” June says, “he’s not here for the money. He’s here to pine from afar over Henry.”
“Would you please shut up,” Alex begs as June and Nora cackle.
“Just go talk to him,” June says.
“And say what? Hey, I work at the booth over there, and I’ve been trying to count the freckles across your nose for weeks now?”
“Oh, yikes,” June says.
“Down bad,” Nora adds with a shake of her head.
“I hate you both,” Alex tells them.
“Just go and bring him a drink,” June says. “Tell him that it’s hot and that you thought he might need it, and don’t you dare come back here without his number.”
“What if he doesn’t want to give me his number?”
“Then you move on and stop mooning over him.” She shoves a cup into his hand. “He seems like a pineapple kind of a guy.”
“You know what they say about pineapple, right?” Nora asks, and Alex grabs the cup and steps out of the booth so he doesn’t have to listen to her.
The peach guy—Henry, apparently—works at Fox Family Farm, or at least that’s what the pale yellow banner with a minimalistic sketch of a fox, its tail curled around a full peach basket, hanging on the front of the booth says.
He’s taller up close, blonder too, and when Alex hovers just a few feet away, he’s shocked at how blue his eyes are.
It’s like he was created in a lab to specifically become Alex’s problem. His very hot problem.
“May I help you?” Henry says in a British accent.
Alex nearly drops the drink.
“Fuck,” he swears as he scrambles to grab it. “I’m sorry.”
“I’m not sure you did anything wrong.”
“Right, this is for you,” he says, setting the cup down before he almost drops it again. “I work at the booth over there.”
“Yes, I’m aware,” Henry says, waving at June and Nora, who are crowded close together to watch.
Alex steps into Henry’s line of sight, blocking them.
“I just wanted to introduce myself since it’s obvious I’m the only one who hasn’t.”
“Technically, you still haven’t done that.”
“I’m Alex.”
“Henry.”
“Yes,” Alex says, “I’m aware.”
Henry smiles wide and bright, and Alex guesses that at least two dozen freckles are dotted across his nose and cheeks.
“Can I ask,” Alex starts, “what the hell are you doing in Texas?”
“Would you believe me if I told you that my grandmother passed and left me a peach orchard?”
“No.”
Henry hums. “A shame. Maybe I can take you to dinner and convince you.”
“Wow,” Alex says, “I was sent over here just to get your number.”
Henry grabs a pen and a scrap piece of paper. “I can give you that as well.”

This might sound a little too much to ask, but could you do headcanons about Ace, Deuce, Jack, Epel, Ortho and Sebek going to the reader's world (which is real-life Earth), please? I would like to see them explore the countries and cities, taste the unique cuisines (including the ones they had never tried before), buying souvenirs, etc. I would also like to know their favorite singers, songs, movies, food, drinks, countries and cities from the reader's world.
I made myself hungry. Reader is barely mentioned, but kept gender-neutral. They are all aged-up because some characters have alcohol as a favorite beverage (besides Ortho).
Tumblr media
Ace Trappola
Favorite country + city he visits: Los Angeles, United States. He loves the big city, and L.A. has a day-life and a night-life. NYC comes in second place for that same reason.
Favorite cultural cuisine and specific favorite food: It’s stated that he likes cherry pie, so he probably likes food from the U.K. (I looked it up and it said that cherry pie originated from there)
Favorite drink: Strawberry green tea with popping strawberry boba. Riddle’s taste for strawberry has rubbed off on him, and since L.A. has a lot of boba shops, he loves it.
Favorite souvenir: A fancier deck of cards, for obvious reasons
Favorite singers/songs: I have a feeling this man knows his Nicki, so his go-to song is Monster by Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, Bon Iver, and Kanye West
Favorite movie: High School Musical, but when you ask he will say something like Silent Hill to seem all bad and cool
Tumblr media
Deuce Spade
Favorite country + city he visits: Probably Tijuana, Mexico. It’s right on the ocean, and therefore it has a beach. He would love to rent a motorcycle and ride with you all over town.
Favorite cultural cuisine and specific favorite food: Mexican food, specifically street tacos. Mexican street food is some of the best I’ve ever had. When you had him try it, he fell in love.
Favorite drink: Horchatas. They’re a popular drink, and he thinks it’s so good (so do I)
Favorite souvenir: A handmade keychain that has ‘T.J.’ engraved on it.
Favorite singers/songs: I feel like he’d be into Bad Bunny, but more specifically the song ‘Te Bote’. Mans doesn’t know what the lyrics translate to, he just thinks it has a good beat. (Btw, I’m aware Bad Bunny is Puerto Rican)
Favorite movie: La Bamba. He loves it, but it always makes him cry. (😢 RIP Ritchie)
Tumblr media
Jack Howl
Favorite country + city he visits: Madrid, Spain. Beautiful scenery, wonderful sunset skyline, and rooftop bars: all you need in life.
Favorite cultural cuisine and specific favorite food: Bocadillos, any kind as long as it doesn’t have green peppers.
Favorite drink: Sangria. His canonical favorite food is pear compote, so I feel like he would love a fruit-based drink
Favorite souvenir: A pair of Spanish sandals that he got custom-made. He thinks they are comfortable to walk in.
Favorite singers/songs: He loves the local artists that you can find on the streets, playing for flamenco dancers. His favorite song is Ninguna, by Juanes (I know Juanes is Colombian).
Favorite movie: Call of the Wild. It's a sad story that made him tear up the first time he watched it.
Tumblr media
Epel Felmier
Favorite country + city he visits: Marseille, France. He went on a road trip all around France (as much as he could, anyway) and found that this place was at the top of his ‘favorites’ list.
Favorite cultural cuisine and specific favorite food: He does prefer macarons over macaroons, so French cuisine would be his favorite. However, Italian food comes in second.
Favorite drink: He wants to be seen as manly, so he would say his favorite drink is whiskey on the rocks (he does genuinely like it), but his favorite is actually a lighter spirit. He would settle for beer, though.
Favorite souvenir: A very small model of the Eiffel Tower.
Favorite singers/songs: Probably As It Was, by Harry Styles. He is secretly a Harry Styles fan
Favorite movie: Like Ace, he would say his favorite movie is something like The Conjuring, but it’s the Titanic.
Tumblr media
Ortho Shroud
Favorite country + city he visits: Thessaloniki, Greece… for obvious reasons.
Favorite cultural cuisine and specific favorite food: He doesn’t eat; he’s a robot
Favorite drink: He doesn’t drink; he’s a robot
Favorite souvenir: A chess set, but instead of normal pieces it’s Greek Soldiers
Favorite singers/songs: I feel like he likes older songs, so I will say Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell
Favorite movie: Guardians of the Galaxy
Tumblr media
Sebek Zigvolt
Favorite country + city he visits: Stratford-upon-Avon, England. He likes to read, and this is where Shakespeare was born.
Favorite cultural cuisine and specific favorite food: I have reason to believe he likes Italian food. His favorite food remains salmon carpaccio.
Favorite drink: He doesn’t drink a lot, so his favorite drink is Earl-Grey Tea. However, when he needs to relax, he drinks campari (he probably likes the bitter flavor)
Favorite souvenir: A leather-bound copy of Romeo and Juliet
Favorite singers/songs: Until I Found You, by Stephen Sanchez (probably discovered after he read Romeo and Juliet for the first time)
Favorite movie: He loves the Harry Potter movies, and no one is allowed to argue with me.

Eskel whirled around to look at him. "Wait, you know her too?"
"I was about to tell you when you made a detour for this street, but then we heard Lambert, and..." He shrugged, unable to contain his amusement. "I believe we might know the same person in this town."
"Wait, you two know her?!" Lambert cried. "What are you even doing here?!"

am sad again and can't sleep so am eating too many sweets and drinking horchata to help cheer me up... haven't seen dada in maybe a month now? am starting to forget how his hugs and kisses feel 😥 guess i have to go back to having an imaginary caregiver again...sad/impure regression is slowly becoming the norm
i hope nobody feels this way ever again...and if you do, am so so sorry *hugs*

And for the anon hour thing: what’s ur fav dessert?
I'm a simple Bandit.
I like bread pudding. and pumpkin pie, if done right, but like. bread pudding.
(I also really like rice pudding because that's basically like eating horchata and I love horchata, but apparently eating rice pudding makes me feel sick, which makes me sad.)

The Hunter who never Hunts.
"Never let your dreams stay in your imagination"
Told me the strong but soft-built man who i was sharing a feast with.
He wasn't a luxurious knight, as i thought the first time i saw him. In fact, he was just a humble hunter with sweet face, but sad doggy expression.
His kindness was as big as his arms and fists. He wouldn't even drink beer or wine, the only water in that tavern was being grabbed by him.
"Why would you advice an old man like me?" I asked waving my horchata and then drinking it. "You are really different from the youth of nowadays"
His gaze weaked and got sparkly for a fraction of second. He waved his water and looked at me in the eyes.
"Because I wish someone had told me the same before choosing what i am now"
"Well, is never late to chase your dreams Grayson"

holiday outfit for rei?
Ooohh! You know the battlepass really makes me sad because I really miss seasonal skins and it looks like any skins that would be "Winter Wonderland" are probably going to be locked behind bundles (Barf). But I did Winter Wonderland skins for the fankids in the past, it would be a fun challenge to try a couple again!!
Rei: Frost Fairy--Okay I know I say that the snow/ice themes are Blizzard phoning it in, but when both Mercy and Genji have ice skins, it seems only appropriate. Her wings are complex and spiky, reminiscent of hoarfrost. Rei's hair is tinted white and pushed back from her face in a kind of wild shoulder-length mane held back by a silvery headband crest reminiscent of Genji's Ice Wraith helmet, with two icicle horns peeking out underneath. Her clothes incorporate some armor-like elements from Genji's Ice wraith skin, but is probably closer to the Banuk clothing in Horizon Zero Dawn.
Aedan: First Frost--A skin that has both autumnal and winter elements, Aedan's clothes are composed of scarlet autumn leaves outlined in silvery white by frost. Very Thranduil vibes. His red hair has white streaks in it and he wears a twiggy laurel-like crown of leaves also touched by frost. His eyes are tinted golden yellow in this skin. Because ya girl loves her Prince Nuada vibes.
Jaime: Olentzero--Olentzero Jaime wears and black beret and blue neck scarf, as well as traditional black, gray, and blue Basque farmer's clothing smudged with coal dust all over. There's a wineskin at his hip and a pipe in his mouth. There's a slightly ghostly effect on his ability animations.
Marti: Eggnog---A cute confectionary skin that's a lovely cream-color with a cinnamon brown gradient. Marti dons a peacoat shawl dress with wooly trimming to mimic the foam. Marti's hair is tied up in a big bouncy curly blown-out ponytail with cinnamon stick hairstick accessory. She wears white leggings with a cable-knit pattern and cute chunky brown wool-lined boots. There will be some debate as to whether the skin should be called the "eggnog" skin or the "horchata" skin but like--I mean you can drink horchata all year, so we're leaning towards the eggnog skin.
Faustine: C.E.O (Chief Elf Officer)--Faustine dons pointy ears, a high bun secured with a sprig of holly, a pencil behind one ear, and a sexy green pencil skirt and green vest with gold damask texture effects. The dress shirt has a sort of frilly cravat collar decorated with a gold brooch. Comes with a "Checking it twice" emote where she checks a tablet and looks up judgmentally.

Journal Entry: 10/09/2024
Waking Up Late & Meeting Struggles: I woke up late today—around 8:10 a.m.—and only because my boss had to call me to join the meeting. I wasn’t exactly feeling enthusiastic about it. I literally asked, “Do I have to?” but I eventually dragged myself out of bed and joined the meeting. Even though I spoke during it, I had zero motivation to work today. My mood has been so low that I changed my work profile picture to the "sad Pepe" meme—a sad frog—to reflect how I’ve been feeling. It’s kind of a weird way to signal my seasonal depression kicking in, but I noticed it’s taking forever for the county to process and update the photo. Maybe soon I’ll need to change it to something more professional, but for now, it’s a small expression of how down I’ve been feeling.
Medical Clearance for PC 832 at Concentra: Despite the sluggish start, I did manage to get something productive done—I went to Concentra for my medical clearance for PC 832. It was a long wait, and I had to walk in and pay $118 for the physical exam. Fortunately, I passed the exam pretty easily. The PA even complimented how flexible I was, which felt awkward, honestly. During the eye test, my left eye suddenly went blurry for no reason. It almost jeopardized the exam, but the PA reassured me that it wasn’t a big deal since PC 832 mostly focuses on physical tasks, like:
Warm-up exercises: jogging, side-stepping, stretching, neck rotations, etc.
Pain compliance holds, including wrist locks, handcuffing, takedowns, and control holds.
Repetitive knee bends, lunges, and body rotation maneuvers.
Supporting body weight during takedowns and handcuffing.
None of these are vision-dependent, so I passed, but I’ll keep an eye (no pun intended) on that left eye issue.
Horchata Latte & Boring Workday: After the exam, I treated myself to a horchata latte and a cheese delight for lunch. I knocked out some minor work tasks but still didn’t feel like interacting much with anyone. My depression was really getting to me. At 3 p.m., I had a meeting with my boss Vanessa (NP) and Ruby, the other EMT, regarding the ECM program. We discussed how it operates when clients get accepted into DHS ECM, and I tried to stay engaged, asking a lot of questions. In the background, Ruby couldn’t stop laughing about my sad Pepe profile picture. I told them it’s “sad Pepe season” because my seasonal depression is creeping in again.
Felix’s Antics & Chisme with Nessa: After that, I headed to the 3:45 p.m. meeting, which ended up being surprisingly entertaining. Felix, one of the SUD Counselors, was having a loud conversation in the background, so much so that we could barely hear what the DMH lady was trying to present. It got to the point where one of the SUD Supervisors had to tell Felix to be quiet, and Felix responded with, “Aye, keep it down, sshh.” His tone immediately reminded me of high school in El Monte. It felt like something my old friend Hector would say, especially when he got caught throwing stuff in the back of the classroom and would shout, “Aye, foo, who throw that shieeet?” It gave me some nostalgic vibes, even though Hector ended up getting caught in a major gang bust involving LASD and El Monte PD.
I couldn’t stop laughing at Felix’s comment, and I chisme’d with Nessa about it, sending her a skull emoji to show I was dying of laughter. She replied with, “Lmaooo I’m done, what tf are they yelling about?” That sparked some more chisme between us. We ended up catching up a bit, which was nice since I hadn’t been in the mood to talk to her this morning. We talked about her day (which she said was boring) and shared random stuff about ourselves. I learned she’s pretty physically active and even works as a personal trainer on the side. I cracked a lumbago joke (because, honestly, my back is still messed up from wrestling with bad folks).
I tried to relate by mentioning that I run a lot and practice Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). She told me she once tried Muay Thai but didn’t enjoy it much, which I totally get. My best friend Nate is into Muay Thai, and we once had a fight back in Alaska—BJJ vs. Muay Thai—for a $25 bet. It was intense. Nessa also mentioned she wants to learn self-defense, and I jokingly told her to “get a gun.” Then I remembered that we’re in Southern California, where most people aren’t exactly gun-friendly. She said she carries pepper spray, which was a little concerning to me since it was the cheap kind. I told her, “Your life depends on it, don’t be cheap,” which is advice my firearms instructors always give. I even joked about her testing it on herself (but I seriously hope she doesn’t).
We wrapped up the conversation before I clocked out, and Nessa, being the kind person she is, made sure to say goodbye, which is something she always does before we end a chat. It’s a small gesture, but it’s nice to have someone show that kind of human connection, especially on days like today.
Dodgers vs. Padres Game & Dinner with My Brother: After clocking out, I tuned in to Game 4 of the NLDS between the Dodgers and Padres. The Padres were leading the series 2-1, and the whole game was nerve-wracking. Luckily, Dave Roberts made some solid decisions this time, focusing on his bullpen. The Dodgers dominated the game, shutting out the Padres 8-0. The only part that really pissed me off was when the third umpire interrupted a call that led to Ohtani being out. You could see Ohtani’s frustration, and he even yelled, “STUPID FUCK” from the dugout. His English is definitely getting better. With this win, the Dodgers forced a Game 5, and I really hope Roberts sticks to focusing on pitching. The offense is solid with guys like Ohtani, Betts, and Freeman, but he needs to prioritize the bullpen in the next game.
After the game, I grabbed KFC for dinner with my little brother and relaxed by playing Dota 2. I’m not as sharp as I used to be, but I still managed to dominate a few matches. Back in college, I played competitively, but now it’s just for fun.
Reflections: Surprisingly, today wasn’t all that bad despite the rough start. I had a tough morning, but things got better as the day went on. I still feel weighed down by depression, but moments like the laughter with Felix and Nessa, and watching the Dodgers’ win, made it bearable. Here's hoping tomorrow is a little brighter.

1225.
Have you done anything lately that you instantly felt was a mistake?: >> I don't think so.
What was the last thing that made you angry?: >> I can't recall.
What color pen ink is your favorite, besides black or blue?: >> I haven't used coloured pens in a long time, so I don't know. Pencils; Mechanical or Traditional?: >> Definitely mechanical, they write smoother in my experience and the thin lead is better suited for how I write.
Are you into anyone right now? Tell me about them? Use this space to say something to them.: .
What melts your heart/makes your knees weak?: >> Hm.
What would you consider unforgivable?: >> I don't care much about forgiveness in the first place, so I think this would just depend on my whims at the time. If I don't feel like forgiving someone, it doesn't matter what they actually did. And I'm sure that if I was inclined to extend forgiveness, it equally would not matter what the actual transgression was.
Do you have any prejudices? Towards whom?: >> If I have any, it means they've gone unexamined all this time and that's why they still exist. Therefore, I wouldn't be able to identify them.
Recommend a good book to me.: >> I don't know you so I will not be doing that, but a book I read this year that I really vibed with was Episode Thirteen. Does it bug you when people ask you how you feel about them?: >> No one does that, so I don't know how I would feel in that situation.
Do you cook and/or bake? What is your specialty?: >> I cook, but I don't bake. I don't have a speciality.
How many dryer sheets do you put in an average load of laundry?: >> None, I use those reusable wool balls.
Does it weird you out when people much younger than you, hit on you?: >> This does not happen to me. I wonder if people that get hit on assume that everyone gets hit on, lol. I probably did back when that used to happen regularly.
Know anyone with a substance abuse problem?: >> If I do, I'm not aware of said problem. Is there anyone you know is into you right now?: >> There is not.
Do you tend to want what you can't have?: >> Of course. Do you realise how many things on this earth I cannot have? It's bound to happen.
What color looks best on you?: >> Like, almost all of them.
What are you most confident about, physically?: >> *shrug* ? I don't think about this.
What are you most self-conscious about, physically?: >> I'm just self-conscious in general, man. Think about the person you 'like'/are involved with. How would you like to spend a weekend with them?: .
Have you ever felt trapped in a relationship?: >> Certainly.
Are you attracted to any nationality more than others?: >> I am not.
What is your favorite frozen treat?: >> Trader Joe's horchata ice cream (which I'm very sad I had to miss out on this year) or any kind of fruit popsicle situation. Do you LOVE smoothies? :3: >> I don't LOVE them, but I do enjoy them.
Do feet creep you out?: >> Not at all. Do you have a sexual fantasy? What is it?: >> Dude, I think about sex all the time, I have a million sexual fantasies.
Are you into that whole 'uniform' thing?: >> Meh.
Do you like the band Satyricon?: >> I used to, but I haven't heard anything from them besides my old standby K.I.N.G. in a long time, so I don't know if I still like them or not. I mean, I probably would. That one song does slap.
What are you looking forward to?: >> Nothing. Who was the last person to insult you?: .
Describe your best friend's appearance here.: .
Do kittens and puppies melt your heart? :3: >> Eugh, I wouldn't use that phrasing. They can be pretty cute, though.
Ever have a pair or overdyed jeans that turned stuff in your pockets blue?: >> Probably.
Do you enjoy fishing?: >> I have never been.
Could you use a massage right now?: >> I don't know, but I do know it's not something I'm interested in getting. What color is your brush/comb/whatever?: >> It's grey.
Is it wicked hard for you to sleep when its hot in your room?: >> Oh my god, it's been so muggy lately and last night I woke up like 80 times because I was so overheated. I'm exhausted. Do you ever think people are just saying dramatic things to get attention?: >> Sure. Which is fine with me, as someone who understands that impulse. What kind of car do you drive? (If applicable): .
What kind of car do you WANT to drive?: .
Do you have a 'prized possession'?: .
Do you sleep on your stomach/back/side most often?: >> Side.
Have you ever purposely given someone wrong directions?: >> I have not. What is your favorite thing to do with your best friend?: .
Are you easily offended?: >> I am not. Do you freak out when something touches your foot when you're in the water?: .
Have you ever acted as tour guide for friends/relatives from out of town?: .
Is most of your email spam? D:: >> Spam gets filtered out pretty regularly, so. Most of the stuff that actually makes it to my inbox is from newsletters I'm subscribed to, or AO3 "you've got kudos!" emails.
Do you blog?: >> Informally.
Do you laugh at the expense of others?: >> Sometimes. Not to anyone's face, but secret schadenfreude can be such a fun little indulgence.

Mollyz Strains for the Effect and Experience You Want
When we created Mollyz, our in-house brand, we wanted to create cannabis that could make people feel how they wanted to feel. Each of us on the Mollyz team has years upon years in the industry. So, we know what strains can provide what effect, how strongly, for how long, and more. We put all of that and more into Mollyz strains, so that our customers can utilize Mollyz to feel how they want to feel.
You can find Mollyz right here at our Roots dispensary, of course. But, you can also purchase Mollyz through our online store as well. No matter which method is best for you, we can start you on your Mollyz experience right. Our strains can give you the experience you’re looking for.
Calm and Relaxed Are you tired of dealing with anxiety? Does it feel like you’re depressed and sad without any relief in sight? Mollyz can potentially provide some temporary relief, helping you to let go of that anxiety for a time. That way, you can get the boost that comes from elevating your mood, helping you to not just feel relaxed but to feel genuinely better.
Multiple different kinds of Mollyz products can do that. Depending on what you’re looking for, we encourage you to reach out to our budtender staff when you’re here to see how we can set you up right.
Focused and Ready to Go Do you have plenty of responsibilities to take care of but don’t have the energy to really get after them? Does it feel like you’re never energized? Or, alternatively, does it feel like you’re only energized after pounding cup of coffee after cup of coffee, leaving you twitchy the rest of the day? We’ve got strains of Mollyz that can help.
You can step off of the cycle of “tired-coffee-tired-coffee” with our energizing Mollyz strains. With the right strain, you can use Mollyz to get all of the energy and focus you need to do what has to be done and to do it right. That’s true whether you’re at work, at home, or anywhere else.
Creative and Can’t Wait to Start Does it feel like there’s creativity within you but you can’t quite unlock it? Do you need to create early on in the day and don’t have time to wait around to feel energetic or inspired? Our strains of Mollyz may be able to help here, too. Depending on which strain of Mollyz you choose, you can be in full control of your own creativity, able to use all of your brain how you want to solve the problems in front of you, to tap into your natural talents, and express yourself how you would like.
Don’t Forget Cross Strains When we created Mollyz, we wanted it to be right for as many folks as possible. That means offering it in different forms and different strains, yes. But, it also means offering cross strains, too.
For example, as of this writing, we have “Milky Way,” “Cherry Bombay,” and “Horchata.”
An indica-dominant hybrid, Milkway combines Northern Lights and Gelato. Speaking of Gelato (specifically, Gelato 41), Cherry Bombay is a combination of that as well as Cherry Punch. Jet Fuel Gelato and Mochi Gelato also make up Horchata, which is a 50/50 hybrid, as balanced as can be.
By having these options, we’re able to provide Mollyz as a solution to more people looking for more personally-tailored experiences.
Mollyz Strains for Your Mind
If you go to our site right now, you’ll find dozens of Mollyz products right now. You’re more than welcome to purchase them from our site and have them delivered to you. That said, if you want to learn more about Mollyz, you can stop by our store, too. There, our budtender staff can show you everything we have to offer so that you can find the right product for your needs.
Of course, while we’re quite proud of Mollyz, it’s far from everything that we have to offer here at Roots LA. Yes, it’s our “in-house” brand, but there’s still plenty more to choose from here in our house. To see what we’ve got, check out our site or come on by during business hours.
