The warmth of the golden hues of the sun shimmered luminously towards the trees overcasting the village below. Hints of sunlight seeped through its dense leaves, creating a sort of display of light as the breeze swayed them from side to side. The village, brought back to life the instant the sun gleamed its first rays, became occupied with busy bodies. The wisteria incense scattered throughout the village burned its last ember, marking another day of the village’s survival. The atmosphere surrounding the village appeared to have brought a sigh of relief, its occupants alive and well within its embrace.

The children lined up, holding a vast array of wooden weapons, each differing in structure and use, following behind the local retired demon slayer, Rina Suzuki. Her time in the corps was not extravagant or lackluster. She had come to face monsters of various sizes and a plethora of death and gore. Her body, once-smooth body now bore a vivid display of the challenges she had overcome. It became a testament to the horrors she had endured and constant reminder of her unwavering strength. The children, and perhaps some of the adults, perceived her scars in awe.

Rina, with the children in tow, arrived at the clearing and began to train like her training as a Demon Slayer. No more did she want to see the death of another child. No more did she want children to suffer at the hands of demons. The children before her bore various looks of determination. Their spirits yearned to learn the way of battle and hopefully become victorious if the occasion presented itself.

But in the crowd of children, there was one who stirred a storm of emotions within her heart, her own daughter, who bore the same naive expression she once wore herself. The others ached to protect the village from unforeseen danger but not her daughter. Her daughter strove to walk the same path she once had. To protect, not only the village but humanity in its entirety. The storm intensified whenever the thought of her daughter’s body mangled beyond recognition tormented her mind.

Kaori Suzuki resembled the undeveloped and inexperienced version of her mother. They shared the same ambitious glint in their eyes amidst the heat of battle and a softness only seen by those precious to them. Kaori felt an invisible string tug ever so gently towards the path her mother and father once pursued. It felt silly to entertain the idea of following the imaginary strand but as she heard more stories of the devastation left in the wake of demons and learned the ways of the katana, she realized the string was luring her to her purpose. She would walk in her parents’ footsteps and sustain a world without demons.

As the children vigilantly piled their weapons in a particular manner, they went ahead to stretch their limbs and prepare their growing bodies. Rina’s instructions were deliberate and precise. Her teachings differed from child to child. She recognized the strengths and weaknesses of each child and constructed a personal routine for every single one.

Kaori approached her mother with great hesitance, a deed Rina did not overlook, and began her rehearsed speech, “I want to be a master of the sword. I want to defend humanity from demons and end the endless suffering caused by their kindness. I want to follow in your footsteps and walk the path you have chosen. I have learned Flower Breathing and completed my training in its entirety. I would like to take the Final Selection with your blessing.”

Rina stared at her daughter in wonder. If felt as if the years slipped by without her notice. Her daughter stood before her requesting for her blessing to leave the village she knows to fight demons. Her shoulders falter slightly before a tender smile appears from her lips. “Oh, how you have grown. You’re not so little anymore.” Her arms reach out for her daughter, an embrace of epiphany and dread, clinging to the hope of seeing her again. “You have my blessing.”

The hesitation Kaori once held disappeared within her mother’s warm embrace. The fear she felt disintegrated the moment her mother approved of her decision.  She muttered a quiet, “Thank you,” as her mother carefully stroked her hair.

“Promise me you’ll come back.” There was a tender and childlike inflection within her voice. There were dangers in vowing to return safely. The imminent threat of death loomed over the unsaid promise. Rina knew in the depths of her bleeding heart the promise would be fruitless but still requested it to be made.

“I-” Kaori began, “I wish I could, but I can’t. I promise I’ll try my best to come back. I promise I’ll do everything in my power to make it back to you.” She prayed her promise was good enough to lessen the worry radiating out of her mother.

“My beautiful daughter I’m so proud of you. Take you katana.” She gently placed a kiss onto her daughter’s forehead, “Stay safe.” A silent goodbye was shared between the two. As they separated. The Final Selection was a week away and Kaori needed to leave soon to make it to the site. Rina tried to ingrain as much detail of her daughter’s appearance as possible, not knowing Kaori was doing the same.

“Suzuki-sama, we’re finished with our warmups.” The voice of Mitsuoki Keita called out, acting as a warning as the children grew nearer towards the heartfelt moment. Rina nodded before sneaking one last glance at her daughter before resuming training.

Kaori strode towards her best friend, Ayumi Shimizu, who held out a week’s worth of food and her mother’s katana. “Come back to us. We’ll be waiting for you.” The two friends shared a brief embrace before Kaori left for Mount Fujikasane.

The trip to Mount Fujikasane was uneventful. The bentos Ayumi made were brimming with rice, slice of braised pork belly, and tamagoyaki. The food filled her with a warmth she had longed for since she left home. From the distance, Kaori could see the bloom of the wisteria and hurried along to reach the shrine.

There must’ve been at least twenty candidates, buzzing with jitteriness, waiting for the exam to commence. Kaori dedicated time to find potential talent. Each contestant, if able to overcome the rigorous demands of the exam, will become a demon slayer. They shall become the new generation to fight the prolonged war against ravenous demons. Standing side by side with Kaori in their attempts to rid the world of such monsters.

Two figures, one marinated with immense power and the other radiating with untapped potential, captured her gaze. They both wore white warding masks adorned with distinct designs, in the shape of foxes.

“Everyone.” The voice of a woman brought pause to the tension that grew in the atmosphere as day turned to night. Her mere presence seemed to possess the attention of all the attendees. “Thank you for coming here tonight to the Demon Slayer Final Selection. There are demons imprisoned here on Mt. Fujikasane, captured alive by the Demon Slayer swordsmen, and unable to leave. That is because wisteria, which demons hate so much, blooms year-round from the bottom to halfway up the mountain. However, there is no wisteria from this point on, and so demons abound. You need to survive here for seven days to pass the Final Selection. I pray for your safety and success.” She ended with a slight bow as everyone rushed forward, the anticipation that had been present since the beginning surged back with a fury, and a sense of uneasiness gripped those who were uncertain of their decisions.

Kaori sprinted to the east side of the mountain as demons were helpless against the warm touch of the sun. Many pathetic attempts to catch her off guard occurred made her internally scoff. Demons would fight amongst one another, claiming her as their meal, leaving themselves open to her mother’s katana. She would swiftly make due with the opportunity and behead them. The distinction between the nights and days faded into one another seamlessly. She was tirelessly beheading demons left and right in attempts of becoming a demon slayer and returning home.

The last night before dawn was the most active. The demons, the ones who’ve survived their first bunch of the Final Selection, concluded tonight would be their last chance to feast on human flesh before the upcoming drought. Their attacks became more animistic. Their movements lacking in humanity as the time of feasting gradually slipped away.

A rancid odor, so foul, it troubled her stomach as it masked over the forest like a blanket. It reeked of decomposing bodies as she sensed an overpowering aura. The others did not yield such a scent nor convey such a presence. This demon was different. It was devastatingly more powerful. The horrendous number of participants it must’ve eaten during its time trapped on the mountain. Someone needed to put an end to its rein of terror.

Kami, give me strength. She rushed towards the origin of the stench, her mother’s katana at her side, preparing to slay one of the more formidable demons on the mountain. Slaying the demon responsible for the deaths of many and possibly prevent the generations to come to fall by its hand.

The ground rumbled the closer she got to the demon. It was aggressively combating someone, giggling in attempts to taunt them with its previous murders, as its body reverberated. Its sick and twisted mind found entertainment in it all.

The person, filled with anger and hatred towards the demon, fought with bravery and honor. They expertly avoided the demon’s attack. Gradually approaching the demon’s head, ready to rid the demon of this lifetime, the blade collided with its neck. Instead of decapitating the head, the blade shattered, leaving the aspiring demon slayer powerless and vulnerable.

Kaori took a deep breath, hand gripping onto her mother’s katana, praying to be able to save a life. Flower Breathing! Second Form: Blossom Step! Power surged throughout her legs and arms. A trail of petals follow behind her as she bolts towards the demon’s arm, reaching out to crush the person’s head, ultimately failing as its arm fell pathetically onto the ground.

The demon couldn’t catch a breath before another attack was made against it. Its eyes could not follow Kaori. She was merely a blur with petals following her wake. Panic encompassed its being. Never before had it felt such fear. It was suffocating; the idea of death poised for its arrival. The demon could not comprehend the excruciating pain that came after. Its head separated from its body. Kaori, now standing before its disintegrating body, felt nothing but pity for the person who once was.

Dammit! Dammit! Dammit! My body is crumbling and disappearing. I can’t stop it.  Dammit... To think that the face of this Demon Slayer will be the last thing I’ll ever see... I didn’t even kill the other brat. Anger washed away as forgotten memories bubbled into the forefront of its mind. The demon wished for its loved one, his older brother, to hold its hand as death accepted it into the afterlife.

Kaori turned towards the person she had saved, “Are you alright?” They had narrowly escaped the clutches of death itself. She realized the person she had saved was a boy around her age. His most prominent feature was his grayish lavender eyes. They were kind.

“I’m alright, but my blade isn’t.” His cheeks burned red upon his fair skin. As a man, he should’ve been able to handle it all on his own. The need to be saved was soul-crushing to his masculinity. He would need to train harder, rectify his lack of strength. It almost cost him his life. “Thank you.”

She acknowledged his gratitude with a nod, “Glad to have made it in time.” She was almost too late. His head almost crushed by the demon. She was lucky her mother’s blade was durable enough to have slice through.

The sun began to rise as they both made their way back to the shrine. They had survived the seven days needed to pass the final selection.

“I’m Sabito, by the way.”

She smiled, “Kaori.”

Hear me out, this ship is so good to me. I know, they're not the best duo aestethically speaking but they're cute. In my AU Kyojuro knows what Mitsuri's ex husband did to her, even in the "canon" ones where he ends up with Giyu and she ends up with Ayumi; Mitsuri trusts him and he trusts her more than anyone so I think they'd make a good, sweet and healthy couple (plus, they're both Satan's adepts so they live togheter, bonus points.

Here... I have to say I like the palette. They look cool togheter (I literally mean one next to the other). But I like their personalities and I think they would get along pretty well (in my AU they already do, even if not on a romantic point of view), they're both shorties, it's cute to have a shorties ship.

Since Ayumi is probably afraid of any man I don't know how this should work but Giyu is one of the most kind and respectful guys around but at the same time I feel like she would be afraid anyways in a first moment, then she'd start to like him and trust him, he would love her eyes and hair... and the fact she's tiny and chubby.

I wouldn't like to be with those two while they're arguing; since Ayumi and Giyu would be a cute and sweet couple... those two would definitely be the opposite (even if I think they'd be very passional), they both have too much energy and they definitely need to unwind it sometimes, they're two punks, there's just not much to say.

The Thunder Hashira

Chapter 6

Warning: injuries, blood, hand demon

Slowly over the next two days other people trickled in. They mostly kept to themselves, sometimes glaring our way when we got too loud. Soon enough we went into the forest. We had met and stuck together with a group of other kids. One boy, Murata, he seemed nice.

Sabito was the one that kept rushing forward to fight the demons which kinda irked me.

"Is everyone alright?" Sabito asked walking back over to the group. I nodded smiling at him. We then heard running noises and saw a demon running toward us. Sabito was a little ways away and I was closest, finally! I ran forward and grabbed my sword. I could hear Sabito yell and rush after me but I ignored him.

I grabbed the handle of my sword, and took in a deep total concentration breath.

"Thunder Breathing, First Form: Thunderclap and Flash!" I jumped toward the demon, pulling out my sword and swiftly chopped their head off. I landed a few feet behind them and then dropped the stance, restoring my sword to its sheath. I turned around and saw the demon turn to dust.

"Hey guys." I said walking back over with a wave.

"Are you ok?" Sabito said grabbing my shoulders.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I said confused. I mean I trained hard to get here too, why's he so worried over me? I stretched then looked around. "Should we camp out here for a while? To rest. It doesn't take forever to cross the forest and most of the group looks tired." I said and Sabito turned to examine the group then nodded.

"Yeah we'll camp out here for now, but not long." So everyone settled, some people asleep as there were people assigned to look out.

"Should someone go out to look for food?" Someone came up and asked. Sabito thought for a second but I shook my head.

"No, don't worry I have some. We shouldn't go off on our own though so we should just make it last." I took out a small case from my small bag that I was holding. I opened it up and sighed. It was only enough to last one person seven days cause I hadn't anticipated travelling in a group. I started to pull and break the food into small pieces. "I have enough for each of us to have one price now and another in a few days. But that's it." Everyone either nodded or made a noise of acknowledgement and then took their piece when I handed it to them. I then put it away.

"Aren't you going to eat your piece?" Giyuu asked walking up to me. I shook my head.

"I'm not very hungry, we should save it for later." He furrowed his brows in worry but went along with it. I sat down against a tree and sighed looking over the group. They were either resting or talking to each other. I heard a shift beside me and turned to see Murata sitting next to me.

"Hello." He smiled at me.

"Oh hi." We fell into an awkward silence. I fiddled with the end of my haori.

"I'm sorry."

"Huh?"

"It's just, I saw you sitting here by yourself and thought you might want someone to to sit with and I was just standing there and didn't know who to go to since everyone is either in their own groups, asleep, or hostile. I'm sorry." Murata then started to stand.

"It's fine." I said catching his hand. "You can sit here." He slowly nodded then sat back down and we fell into another silence.

"So uh what breathing style do you do?"

"Thunder breathing, you?"

"Water breathing." Another silence and then I pulled something out of my sleeve and waved it at him.

"Care for a game of cards?" He stared at me then blinked. His lips then tightened and he laughed a little. "What?" I asked, confused.

"Who brings a deck of cards to final selection?" He laughed and I huffed.

"Well just for that, I'm going to go ask Sabito and Giyuu if they want to play and leave you here to wallow in your loneliness." I said and started to stand.

"Wait—no! I'm sorry, I'll play. I didn't mean it like that!" He said grabbing my wrist. I then laughed too.

"I know, I was just kidding." I then shuffled the deck and divided the cards. I put the extra to the side and organised mine as he did the same. "Solitaire."

"Huh?" He looked up at me confused.

"For your question, I brought the deck cause I like to play solitaire sometimes."

"Oh cool, care to teach me some time?" He smiled at me.

"Yeah sure. Four?"

"Go fish." I sighed and picked up a card. We then went on to play the game while having little conversations throughout.

"Thank you."

"For what?"

"The food, you're very kind."

"Oh it's nothing." I waved my hand in dismissal.

"No really, I think it means a lot. The food really helps, without it we would all be very weak, not good to be weak when fighting demons."

"Yeah I guess you're right."

"Really." I looked up and Murata was looking at me with a serious look. "Thank you." I smile say him.

"You're welcome."

It's now been about six days since we began final selection. So far no one has died which is good. All we have to do is last today and then leave the forest in the morning and we all pass. I sighed and sat leaning against a tree. When I opened my eyes there was a small piece of onigiri in my face. I looked up and saw Giyuu.

"Don't think I didn't notice."

"Notice what?" I asked tilting my head.

"You haven't eaten. I didn't get it a few days ago but I do now. There was enough food for all of us except one person. You decided to make that person yourself. That's not good, you'll need your energy if you fight another demon. Plus it's your food, Himiko."

"I'm fine Giyuu, it's your ration." I waved him off.

"No. Eat it." We argued for a few more seconds but I then sighed and slowly took it.

"Fine, but only if I can fix your braid!" I said pointing this hair. He looked surprised and touched his hair, he didn't even realize he still had it in.

"Yeah ok." He sat down in front of me after I ate the piece of food. I undid the previous braid then combed my fingers through his hair again to get rid of the knots. It took a few minutes cause of the braid from earlier and how long we've been in this forest. I then picked out the prices of leaves and dirt then sectioned it off.

Sabito came over and sat next to us, watching me braid Giyuu's hair again. His eyes were wide and looked on like I was doing magic when it was just a basic braid. My cheeks heat up just slightly at his stare.

"Done." I say after tying up the braid with a small band I had in my bag. I smiled and patted Giyuu's shoulder. He smiled back. We then started to go into our own little conversations when my eyes landed on Sabito's mask. It was a white color with red-ish pink accents to it and had the same long pink scar as Sabito had on his cheek. I also noticed Giyuu had a similar one.

"Where'd you get your mask from?" I finally asked.

"Huh? Oh our master carved them for us! He gives them to each of his students when they go off to take the final selection. It's a warding mask." Sabito explained and smiled.

"That's cool." I say, he then tilts his head and a slow smile crossed his face. My face heated up at his expression, why was he looking at me like that?

"Wanna try it on?"

"Wha-what?" I asked shocked, why'd he offer something like that? He seemed very attached to the mask. "Y-you don't have to!" I honestly didn't know what to say.

"Here!" He had already grabbed me and pulled me closer by the time I figured out a protest. He pulled me close, barely an inch away and reached to tie the mask up to the side of my head. His brows were furrowed in concentration and I could feel his breath on my cheek when he got close to get a better look at the tie. He then pulled away. "There." He said and examined it. I then noticed his cheeks were also a bit pink.

I was about to say something when we heard a scream. We quickly looked over, at some point without either of us noticed Giyuu had wondered off and now he had been attacked by a demon that found us. We both rushed over at the same time, Sabito was faster and slayed the demon while I went to check on Giyuu.

"Here I have a med kit." I said taking it out but was stopped when Giyuu passed out in my arms. "Woah." I set him down on the ground and checked his head. I was about to start when we heard another yell from further in the forest. I handed the kit to Murata. "Can you look after him while we go check that out?" I asked following after where Sabito ran off before he could answer.

I ran after him but stopped frozen at the demon that I found. He was a large demon, green and basically a mountain. He was also made up of hands, just hands. I was frozen in fear. Sabito spotted me and ran toward me after breaking away from the demon. He stood in front of me.

"Run Himiko! Get out of here." He said holding his sword up to the demon. I took a deep breath then shook my head. I took out my own sword.

"No. I'm not leaving you." I said. He tried to protest but was interrupted by the demon.

"You girl." The demon said pointing at me. I looked to both my sides then pointed at myself. What did he want to say to me? "Yes you. You're one of Urokodaki's brats aren't you?"

"Who?" I asked tilting my head.

"That's my masters name." Sabito said.

"You are, aren't you, you have one of his little fox masks." He said and then I paled slightly, right I was still wearing Sabito's mask.

"That's my mask." Sabito said and clenched his sword harder. "And how do you know Urokodaki?" The demon laughed and what he said next made my blood run cold. He went into a detailed speech on how Urokodaki had captured and brought him here and how he hunts down and ears every one of his students that he sends here. He even described how he killed a few of them. My face had long gone white and blood cold. I started hyperventilating.

"Keep calm. It's never a good idea to start panicking while in a fight with the a demon."

Suddenly my masters voice filled my head as I remembered his words. I took a deep breath and calmed myself. I looked over to Sabito but he had no such luck. When I looked back to the demon I was met with a green hand coming straight at my face. I gasped and nearly screamed but then the arm dropped to the floor when Sabito chopped it off.

"Don't touch her." He then charged at the demon. I ran after him as he chopped every arm that came towards him until he reached close enough to cut its neck. I didn't stop running after him though and then he swung. The sword met flesh but instead of the sound of flesh being torn like we expected we were met with a shattering of metal as it was destroyed. My eyes went wide. I ran faster to meet him. A hand came out reaching for Sabito's head, to crush it in its fist.

"SABITO!!!"

A sickening crunch and blood curdling scream filled the forest.

~About My Main Oc's(The Main 4)~

Nicki Ohnosaki (DS): Is the Shadow Hashira(Ranked as 4th strongest)who took former Flower Hashira, Natsuki Ohnosaki's rank in the core (Etc:Joined the Core at: 16 Former Age:21). She was raised in a house of 2 younger siblings and 1 older sibling, each one with their fair share of abuse by their father, Natsuki being the oldest was the only sibling who could stand up for all her siblings (Natsuki was 9, Nikki was 7, Inosaki was 4, and Kai was 2). On the night of August 18th their family was slaughtered with the only survivers being, their father, name is Timoko Ohnosaki (who got turned into a demon by the lower moon who slaughtered their family), Natsuki Ohnosaki(The oldest sibling of 3, after the slaughter became a slayer at 15 and at 18 because a Hashira to revenge the death of Kai Ohnosaki and her mother Momisuke Ohnosaki), Nikki Ohnosaki (The 2nd oldest of 3 after the slaughter she was taken under Natsuki care becoming a slayer and Natsukis Tsugoku at the age of 16, After Natsuki's death she takes her place ranking one rank higher {at 4th} Getting the title 'Hashira' for her speed, senses, and fighting tactics), and last Inosaki Ohnosaki (The 2nd youngest of 3, after the slaughter he was taken care of by Taro{Natsuki's Bf, Light Hashira}and Nikki after training sessions with Natsuki, after Natsukis/Taros murder, Inosaki makes the decision of becoming a medic to help slayers and the injured in general while Nikki was out on missions doing her role as a hashira. Present he works in the Butterfly Mansion with Ms. Aoi, Shinobu, and the Caterpillar sisters)

(Natsuki's Death & Nikki's Revenge With a Fatal Price.

-Natsuki's mission was against a lower moon, lower moon 2 {her own abusive father} the master had sent her with light hashira, Taro Rimko both were sent on the night of March 23rd and never were seen after that day. The mission was normal until they had found the twisted game of the demon, bodies hung by trees some didn't even have most of their limbs, Both Hashiras were left in pure disgust Taro learned to pray from his father and Gyomei and decided to do so as Natsuki yelled out for the demon to reveal themselves. The demon listened to the command as Natsuki's eyes widened, Taros blind eyes focused on the demon from hearing... It was Timoko Ohnosaki but a uglier and more blood thirsty father, it didn't take long for the rage and flame to strike, the battle lasted until the brink of dawn, Timoko had to finished the two quick.. {TRIGGER WARNING⚠⚠}

Taro was the first to be demolished, his eyes were targeted first one being poked out and held in the hand of lower moon 2 and lastly when Taro was distracted with his bleeding eye, he was K. Oed with his head being ripped ripped off right in front of Natsuki making her boil with rage since he'd token another loved one, her blood boiled as she decided to attack out of anger, that didn't end well.. {TRIGGER WARNING⚠}

The lower moon gripped her head ripping it back before stabbing his fingers into her throat, slashing it aggressively. The sun finally rose, Timoko had fled, leaving Natsuki's body next to her lovers as they both rotted in their own piles of blood.

-Story 2: it was the final battle, Nikki was faced with the death of Tokito Muichiro and Kocho Shinobu, her eyes filled with sarrow as she placed flower clips onto their covered corpeses after she had shredded her demon father mouthing the words 'You'll never be granted with a second chance, not by the devil himself' the battle between her and her father was harsh, loosing vision in her left eye from a bloody slash along with multiple bruises and cuts, but it was finally over she had better demons to take care off, to revenge the lives that had been lost to such merciless creatures. The war was finally over.. Down on her knees with a missing hand, and blind in her left, she'd had survived with a fatal price of her limbs.. She had survived to see the light of day... She had survived to see her brother.

Peace finally came over the remaining survivors of the corps, and peace to all the lives who fight and died in battle. The wind blew as silence was between the two Ohnosaki siblings as they sat in front of Natsuki's, Kai's, and Momisuke's graves as they gave gifts such as food, flowers and last but not least their tears. 'Stay hello to the others for me'

Miyake Suzui (OP):Worlds most known/Wanted engineer, getting the titles for bombing Marines (basically committing genocide 😭) and helping pirates then backstabbing them by stealing their valuables, getting her first bounty at 10 at the high price of 150,000. Years go by ever since her sister had left her, and her other sister had died she found herself in a floating restaurant called 'Baratie' dressing herself up as a guy to avoid Sanji's simping but it all changed when a group of pirates rulled by Dawn Kreig had started a ruckes with another group of pirates a very small but strong group called the 'Strawhats' she finally revealed her identity fight by the side of Luffy until Kreig was defeated, after this Luffy had offered to be on sea but like Sanji she declined acting as cold as she did when she served them beside Sanji. After s bit of convincing she joined their crew as the loyal engineer besides the simping cook Sanji. Her next bounty raise wasn't until after the 2 year span, raising from 150,000 to 240,000,000. (this was made lazily bc I made this at fucking 12am)

(Family Lore & Years spent engineering)

-Gardening was fun as a family time, each caring for a certain part of the garden, Mother and Father focused on the grass, trees, and bushes, Moko and Michii worked on picking and growing fruits, and lastly Miyake would plant flowers. It was all friendly until a ambush by Marines sent by one of the admirals they wrecked the garden the wrecked parts of the house, their parents forced them three to hide and Moko shoved her and her sisters into a bunker, Michii was angered and Miyake? She cried and cried for her parents (I'd like to add their parents we're wanted pirates!her father with a bounty of 23,000,000 and their mother with the bounty of 15,000,000)but Michii covered her mouth as shots were shot, bodies had fallen. After the ambush the three had gotten out of the bunker, seeing blood stains but no bodies. Days pass Moko and Michii had moved on trying to fix their garden and the destroyed parts of the house. 2-3 months pass and the Suzuis met the same fate of a ambush after the Marines found out about the children, Moko had to step up risking her life.. (The trauma man😭) the other two cried as they hid themselves in the bunker without someone older to protect them anymore, soon enough the same sound of a gun firing arose.. {TRIGGER WARNING⚠⚠}

Moko was shot in the heart ending her young life quickly, the Marines yelled for the other children to come out or they'd destroy the house but they didn't leave both were scared both were horrified, the marine army marched in wrecking and throwing objects as dusk neared they finally left. Immediately at dawn the two sisters made graves for the family they lost placing flowers and their own personal items, Michii placing fruits on her parents graves {oranges and strawberries since it was their favorites) and a hairbrush on Moko grave on the other hand Miyake placed her plush of a cat on her mother's grave, a carton of strawberry milk on her fathers grave, and her kimono on Mokos grave.

-Story 2: years pass since the death of their family, Miyake started to study astrology {Moko loved astrology and the sea} as Michii barely came home to see her own sister. One day Michii called Miyake to tell her news, she was leaving on a 'trip for food' but that made Miyake even more devastated than she already was and before her sister left she mutter out the words 'PROMISE YOU'LL COME BACK FOR ME!!'. After the day her sister left she started to learn how to be an engineer, building new things she never thought she could succeed everytime she knew he family would be proud but at the same time she missed Michii. 2 years pass Michii never came back {She betrayed her own family by joining the Marines, the ones who killed her family, but once the two meet when Miyake is 23 she makes up a reason that she only did it to steal and destroy all their plans} after her 10th birthday Miyake was more mature finally fed up with being alone people were shocked she was still alive she was only a love because of her circus loving friend Paco who'd bring her food and drinks while she worked, one person was so shocked they called marine forces to arrest her. The Marines had got there but no trace of her was seen until... All the ships had blown up, the screams of the Marines who stayed behind filled the people's ears, as she left one of the ships with supplies and weaponry that's how she got her first bounty of 150,000.

Kuro Tsuko(DDD): She is a 16 year old girl who transferred to the same school as the alien geeks, not believing that aliens and ghosts exist until she encountered Acrobatic Silky (episode 5 or 6). She didn't know she was possessed by a ghost herself, the ghost of her samurai father (her father was a samurai who slayed Yokais until the day he died from a demon using his own blade to stab him) Out of the group she has the best strategies, best battle plans, and attack tactics. She is the only one who has no siblings and a living mother so she has no lore. Her personality is sassy, funny, and loyal.

Bingo(OM! OM NB!): The knight who guards the Lord's castle, who loves rocks and Simeon- ignore that. Like the brother she too is a fallen angel due to her lovers lie {will explain in 'Cupid's Lore'} Her personality is like a literal bitch, cussing everyone out, even going as far to throw rocks she collected or bite demons for their disrespect towards Diavolo {She hears all} and really caring and loyal.

-Bingo was the most popular cupid, always on track with building relationships and making them last with her never missing arrows, her herself was beloved by all for her beauty and soft heart {Personality is completely different from her personality in hell}. One day she was confronted by a Royal Knight of the celestial realm, he confessed his love and she accepted it. Everything was sweet from the start but truly this man was hell itself, as years passed he turned more controlling and grew distant but it wasn't enough to break her heart yet...Her lover came back from his duties seemingly annoyed and then yelling at her accusing her of cheating!? She denied it {obviously she didn't, like she's cupid just like she sore loyalty to her job she sore loyalty to her relationship} but that wasn't enough to make him believe, she truly was on the brink of being a weeping angel.

-Story 2: After the rumors had spread of her cheating it finally reached the god. When she was brought to his mercy to explain her sin she denied and finally broke before she was banished she let out her anger on the god and her lying lover.. She was finally banished and fell from the light clouds swearing she'd never forget the betrayal she felt during those final weeks and the friendship she made during all the years.

ZenNezu kinda weirded me out in the beginning, considering Zenitsu's behavior and their age gap, but now I don't mind it. Honestly, it's kinda cute. - 7/10

ObaMitsu is the BEST canon ship and the most wholesome. I love their dynamic. I love how they didn't just confess after like one "date," I love they way they are devoted to each other. I love the way exist just as characters and a ship. And I love the way they excepted each other. I want what they have irl. - 11/10

SabiGiyu will always be one of my favorites. Now, I generally don't ship Giyu with anyone besides my own oc because I think that he'd be asexual. But I think the only reason he acts asexual is because of everything that's happened to him. In an AU where Sabito survived, I think SabiGiyu would work quite well. - 9/10

SaneGiyu is not one that I like. It is hard for me to say that because I know it is one of the more popular ships and the shippers have and will defend this ship with their lives and will roast my entire existence. But I just don't like it. They always make Giyu seem like a soft, helpless puppy and make Sanemi some dom badboy and it's annoying. And I just genuinely think they have more sexual tension than being in a relationship. Even then, it's just not...appealing to me. - 1/10

MaitSuo IS AMAZING. I LOVE GAYS SO MUCH OMGG. THEY MAKE ME HAPPY AND THAT'S IT. - 10/10 <333333

TomiTsyo / AryiGiyu is literally my comfort ship. I love Giyu as a character in general. Their dynamic is similar to ObaMitsu's, though Giyu is just...Giyu. Since it is so similar to ObaMitsu, I obviously love it. It brings me joy. - 8/10

+ ShinoGiyu. Believe it or not, this is also one I just don't like. I love both characters, but I genuinely think they have more of a sibling / best friend dynamic. Also, they both kinda give off asexual vibes, so I just think they'd be besties. - 2/10

Today was Giyuu’s birthday, February 8th. Normally, he wouldn’t do much. He didn’t see the point. He’d much rather stay home with his wife and kid and enjoy having the day off.

So that was exactly what Yuna was planning.

Tsutako was taking him and his best friend, Sabito out to lunch that day, giving Yuna the perfect distraction. What made it even more perfect, was that Giyuu was taking their daughter, Milo, with him. Not only because Tsutako wanted to see her niece, but the 2 year old was insistent on going with her daddy.

In other circumstances, Yuna would pull a fake, offended smile, but this was a blessing in disguise. She was going to make her husband’s favorite food, simmered salmon with chunks of daikon, and make sure to have his favorite desert too. She knew she could safely serve that for dinner because the restaurant he was going to didn’t serve that. Curtesy of her and Tsutako’s previous chats.

Yes, Tsutako was in on it too. So was Sabito. They were going to wear Giyuu out to a reasonable extent by taking him to a carnival as well, so that when he got back, he could enjoy the peace and quiet of being home.

Yuna did her best not to seem to anxious for him to leave. She was lost in thought getting her very distracted toddler dressed when there was a small knock on the doorway. She turned to see her husband peeking his head in and she smiled.

“She almost ready?”

Milo squealed and made grabby hands towards him and Yuna struggled to keep her still long enough to put her favorite bow in her hair. A small smile found its way onto Giyuu’s usually stoic face as he stepped into the room. He put one hand on his hip as he walked over to Milo. He pressed the index finger of his free hand to her nose with a playful tone to his voice.

“C’mon baby, you gotta stay still for mommy.”

Yuna smiled as the little girl tried to escape her grasp. Giyuu sat on the floor next to his two favorite people and Milo tried even harder to get to him. Yuna hooked her hands under Milo’s arms and lifted her over her leg and into Giyuu’s lap. The little girl let out another happy squeal along with a string of “dada”s. She stood in his lap and grabbed at his face as she babbled nonstop. Giyuu couldn’t hold the pure love and affection from his gaze as he rested his hand on her back so she wouldn’t fall over.

“I think she wants you to do it.”

He looked over at his wife and took the purple bow from her hands when she handed it to him. He looked back over to his daughter and ruffled her hair.

“Baby, can you turn around for me?”

Milo immediately complied and turned around, falling into a sitting position in the process. Yuna gasped and placed a hand over her heart in a dramatic gesture.

“I call favoritism.”

Giyuu chuckled as he fastened the bow into Milo’s hair. The goober definitely was more still for her dad than for her mom, with her just patting her knees over and over again.

Once Giyuu had finished getting the bow nice and neat, he lifted Milo so he could stand up. He and Yuna walked out of their daughter’s room and towards the front door. Giyuu held Milo still as Yuna slipped her bright pink tennis shoes on.

Yuna held the door open for her husband and pressed a quick kiss to his lips before doing the same to her daughter’s forehead. She waved after them as they made their way to the car.

“Bye! Have fun!”

Giyuu waved back and Yuna waited until she saw the car leave to start getting the house ready. She rushed to the kitchen to start the salmon. Having three younger siblings definitely helped her as she had experience with needing to cook or clean quickly. Once she set an alarm for when she needed to start cooking, she went upstairs to grab blankets. She ran them to the upstairs loft with multiple other items so the family could make a small fort later that evening.

It didn’t take Yuna very long to get everything ready for her mini surprise and she soon began her cooking. She wanted it to be perfect, but she knew Giyuu would be happy with anything.

Once preparations for the activity were ready, Yuna moved onto the food. The smell of salmon and daikon filled the house, but that wasn’t too abnormal since the family ate it a lot. Yuna also made a small portion of chicken udon in case Milo was feeling particularly picky that evening. Milo might not eat many things, but she’ll always eat chicken udon. Yuna liked to joke that it was because she craved it a lot during her pregnancy.

Yuna enjoyed her time cooking. She had music playing from her phone and everything just felt really warm and cozy.

She felt really lucky to have met someone as caring and supportive as her husband. This will have been the fifth birthday of his she has spent with him. Ever since the two got together in college, she’d made sure that his actual birthday was rather tame since the man didn’t like being around people for too long. Which was a huge blessing to her, since she didn’t have to organize huge parties often.

Here she was, married to him for three years, and together for five, and she was still like a schoolgirl when she thought about him.

She was shaken out of her lovesick thoughts when she heard the sound of the car parking. Perfect. The food was almost finished so they could eat almost immediately. She made sure the food was safe to be momentarily left alone before rushing towards the door. She opened it just as Giyuu and Milo were approaching the house. Milo was clinging to Giyuu with a content and tired smile on her cute little baby face.

She held the door open for them and was greeted with a high-pitched “mama!” She took Milo from Giyuu’s arms and peppered her baby’s face in kisses.

“Hi Milo! I missed you~! Was she good?”

Giyuu nodded with a smile. He nodded his head towards the kitchen with a questioning look.

“What’re you making?”

Yuna set their daughter on the floor and reached for a hug from her husband. She felt Milo tugging at her pants as if she wanted to be picked up again, so she didn’t make the hug last too long. She crouched down to pick her daughter up once more as she spoke.

“Oh nothing much, just your favorite.”

Giyuu’s smile grew a little, no matter how often he and that, he’d never get sick of it. He ruffled Milo’s hair gently before turning to his wife.

“Thank you hun.”

Yuna waved him off with an embarrassed smile. She looked towards the stairs for a few seconds as a playful smirk found its way onto her face.

“And I have supplies set up to make a fort upstairs, that something you’d be interested in?”

He nodded and pressed a kiss to Yuna’s forehead.

“Of course, I just wanna be surrounded by my favorite girls.”

Milo grabbed onto his shirt with one hand and patted her forehead with her other.

“Me too! Me too!”

Giyuu shook his head with a chuckle and moved her hair out of the way.

“Okay, you too.”

Obasane like they're canonically besties. So that's something against it, plus it's Obanai so oof.

Shinazuren like, no one there hates him, it's canon, he is a bit tsuntsun about it but he's still calm and openly respectful towards him.

Himesane didn't know this ship exists with a name (as this is the Internet all ships exist somewhere 😳) but they're both consenting adults and not that huge of an age gap. But I feel like he normally respects him openly already.

(I don't ship all of these myself, I can and will multiship but I mainly ship sanekana or Sanemi x reader/oc aka myself or my roommate as we both simp for him lol also SaneShino under strict au stuff. Tanjiro x (Y/n) where (y/n) is Rengoku's younger sister (not a demon slayer), and they meet after Rengoku died on the train. They end up connecting and becoming pin pals, and over time, fall in love.

Ofc I gotta check off everything positive about them, but Giyuu and Akari are more dorks than sexy tbh (love them for that though)

Akari is always meant to be her own character (and she still is) I created her back in 2019, and at that time, she didn't even have a love interest. It's only when it was canonically stated that Giyuu has a descendant, that I find myself fixating really hard at the possibility that Giyuu married someone and had kids, and then I remembered that I have a kny oc, and that's pretty much how I came up with the idea of intertwining Akari and Giyuu's story together. 🩷

Also maybe there's a part of me that wished Giyuu in canon had a "special someone" it's doesn't necessarily have to be romantic in a sense, but I just remember thinking how the Butterfly sisters, Shinazugawa bros and Obamitsu have eachother, Tengen has his wives, and Giyuu has Sabito and Tanjiro... except Sabito is long gone before the series even started and I always felt like there's more emphasis on Tanjiro and Rengoku's bond tbh.

I guess I just felt like Giyuu in canon has a sense of loneliness to him even after befriending people (maybe this is why he is so shippable-) BUT YEAH, it's why I wanted Akari to be Giyuu's friend. They can be each other's "special someone" :D Friends to Lovers dynamic!

As for Obamitsu well

Ok so I'll admit that Obamitsu isn't actually my fav pairing (it's pretty shallow really, I just don't find Obanai that hot enough fjsjsjsjsk) but still, I very much appreciate them, and they are fun to draw! I really like how they compliment each other. The idea of two people who find themselves to be unlovable and finding that love with each other, only except it's a little too late... I actually stumbled upon your post about obamitsu being a failed romance before, and I agree so much, thinking about the tragic aspect of their romance makes me sad :(

Overall I think their relationship is pretty well written. I know some might say that they lacked screentime, which is fair, but for me, it's the fact that even in such a short time, the story was able to show us why they mattered to eachother. Especially when I compare it to other shows where the main couple had tons of screentime and yet their chemistry is still lacking. I guess sometimes its still about quality over quantity kind of thing.

Also I don't think Mitsuri falling for Obanai negates her own character, it's more like they both complete each other's arcs. I feel that with obamitsu, you can appreciate them as a pair but you can also appreciate them as separate characters too!

Also they lowkey give me botw zelink vibes so its hard for me not to appreciate them. 🩷

This is something we need to discuss about: ships are the best thing ever, as long as the ship is legal and not completely fucked up (minor × adult or victim × killer) I think they're all valid and fine, shipping is funny. It's one of my favourite ships ever, it's healthy and switch, they look cute togheter (if we talk about aestethic), they fit in the Sun/Moon dynamics and in my AU this is switch too because Kyojuro isn't always happy and a ray of sunshine and Giyu isn't always delusional.

Saneoba

I've seen people starting shipping this when season 4 came out and I couldn't be happier, they're both rude and usually hostile but I like to think they'd make an exception for each other and thay they would make a great duo.

Sabimako

Childhood friends becoming lovers even if they are opposite in some characteristics are one of my favourite tropes; they both have too much energy, definitely. But while Sabito is aggressive but icy cold, sometimes Makomo seems to be literally crazy, she enjoys being sarcastic with him about his behaviour, he appreciates her ways.

Enmu x Kanae

I know you're thinking this could be random if you're new here, but if you know about who they are in my AU, this is the least random ship I came up with. They're both doctors so they spend much time togheter seeing each other try their best, they're both really attractive and smart so... it's pretty obvious they would like each other and eventually end up together.

Mitsuri x Ayumi

Again, the Sun/Moon dynamics gets me every single time. In my AU they were both traumatised by men, suffering from violence and assaults, traumas bring people togheter and since they're both respectful when it comes to contact, they could also overcome trauma togheter, it's just a very cute thing and I love this ship.

Muichiro x Rei

They're both the same age and I headcanon Muichiro as a very curious kid, so they'd get along pretty well. This would be a teenager crush of course, but I can see them sharing moments togheter trying to learn stuff from the older Hashiras and helping each other becoming a better slayer.

Tengen x Fujiko

Tengen loves everything that's flashy and I think that a beautiful half-American singer would be the best choice for him. He ran away from his clan so he didn't have to marry three women, he married a woman he actually loved and who matches his personality, honestly there's nothing better.

Shinobu x Hiromi

This couple would be fire. Shinobu likes Hiromi because she's strong, she looks like she's scared of nothing and Hiromi likes Shinobu because she's smart and her right eye looks mystic. Since Kanae is alive and well in this AU Shinobu has kept her tsundere personality, her and Hiromi would be partners in crime and I'd love it.

Fukuge x Asuka

I actually have a lore for this: since both the Rengoku and the Miyazaki families are/were wealthy families their was an arranged marriage. Of course Asuka wasn't happy with it: Fukuge is clumsy and not regal (he reminded her of Kyojuro, that's the reason why she disliked him), but lately they both started to feel attraction and eventually their marriage became way happier.

Nezha × Harriet

I'll just cry, these two are heavily inspired by Adam and Lute from Hazbin Hotel. Nezha is a complete idiot, Hariet is serious and hostile but they both like each other's energy... and in some way I want Nezha to die saving Harriet and being killed by her in person because she doesn't have any choice but to kill him too to kill her target (I binge listened to DiE4u by BMTH thinking about this scenario and literally cried, I'm crazy I know).

Nayumi use to be a demon slayer, but Muzan cut the side of her cheek, that’s why she has those scars, and which of course led her to be a demon. but, during this, and even a bit before that time, Sabito was with her, and the the day he was gonna confess to her, that happened to Nayumi. (almost a bit similar to Tanjiros and Nezukos story if yk what i mean) but yeah there’s a little bit of lore right here for these two:3✨

The Thunder Hashira

Chapter 1

Warning: heavy gore and minor character death

I've been travelling for about a week now. My parents were reluctant to let me go. Well actually that's an understatement, and my siblings weren't much better. Tanjiro and Nezuko are too young to understand why I was leaving. And Takeo is still a baby. But I had to go, to do this. I needed to do this as a way to avenge my best friend, protect my family, and protect others too. My parents believed me, especially after that man escorted me home but they didn't understand why this is what I wanted to do. But the man did, he was there too. He sees these kind of things everyday. And the  memory was still painfully fresh is my head...

It was cold. I know that. Very cold. I mean what do you expect? It's the middle of winter. It was one of the rare days where my parents let me stay over at Yuko's house for the night. They usually need help taking care of the kids, especially with my father's condition getting worse. I slowly made my way into the village. I was running a bit late, Tanjiro and Nezuko wanted to play a game before I left then clung to my leg when it was time for me to leave. I don't mind though, they're adorable. And they always do that anyway when I have to go to town and can't bring them. Takeo was still too young to travel down to the village with me and play most games but he still tried as much as them.

It was dark by the time I got to the village. As I walked through the town, the path memorized, I noticed how it was oddly quiet. A few lamps were still on but it was silent which was odd. There was always something making noise. I shook the feeling off and continued down the path, well that is until I saw him. He was dressed in odd clothing and carried what looked like a katana at his side. It confused me but I kept walking. He then spotted me and walked toward me, I froze.

"Hello miss, what are you doing out here? It's dangerous to be outside at night."

"I know, I was running a bit late so I'm heading back now." I said politely.

"I'll walk you back, dangerous creatures roam the night, can't be too careful." He smiled at me. I would be wary, I mean I was. But something about him told me he had no malicious intent. So he walked me to my friends house. He stopped at the front, not going to walk up to the door.

"Thank you, sir. Sorry for bothering you with this." I smile apologetically. He was probably doing something until I bothered him with this.

"No no it's fine really. It's my job. Have a good night miss." And he left, just like that. That was weird, what did he mean by "it's my job"? I shrugged it off and walked up to the door then froze. What was that stench?

I slowly opened the door and was hit was a terrible stench. I've never smelt something like this before, I couldn't figure out what it was. I had to close my eyes and take deep breathes through my mouth to steady myself. It made me nauseous. I then opened my eyes, and I figured out where the smell was coming from. Everywhere. There were splatters of red everywhere, soaking the walls. It took me a minute to realise it was blood and I nearly threw up at the realisation. But then I saw the bodies, then the torn flesh, then their faces, then the man-like thing in the middle of the room feasting on Yuko's mother.

I started hyperventilating as I looked around the room for Yuko. Then I saw him, he was lying on the floor close to the wall, he was looking right at me. Or at least I thought he was until I realised how dead his eyes were. I slapped my hand over my mouth at the sight.

Then the sounds finally registered. The ripping of flesh, the sick splats, the chewing. And then I finally threw up. I fell to my knees and clutched the wall for support as I leaned over and added my vomit to the mess of human fluids, parts and gore.

Big mistake. That drew the attention of the thing in the centre of the room.

"Heh, didn't know I'd be getting dessert today." It chuckled, but I didn't get time to register what it said before it lunged at me. I screamed and tried to back away but it pinned me to the ground. Its claws dug into my skin and I can feel the blood from its mouth drip onto my face and neck as it hovered over me and its claws drew my own blood. I squeezed my eyes and only let a whimper out as I waited for it to rip my flesh apart.

But it never did.

I never heard the heavy footsteps approaching, or the drawing of a sword. But I did feel the thing jump back and let me go along with a pool of blood splash over my clothing. I opened my eyes and looked up to see the man from earlier standing over me protectively as he held a sword pointed at the thing. I looked down and saw the blood that splattered over me and nearly threw up again. It looked the same but it was slightly heavier and smelt different.

"Can you stand?"

"H-huh?" I looked up to the man who kept his eyes on the demon as they fought. I didn't even realise when they started fighting.

"Can you stand?"

"I-I think..."

"Ok. Stand up and run. Get as far away as you can. I'll find you when this is over." He left no room for argument. So I stood, and ran. I was pretty slow, I didn't realise the thing scratched my leg pretty bad, still in shock. But I kept running as far and quickly as possible.

Minutes felt like hours and i soon couldn't take another step, I looked back and saw that I left a trail of my own blood, along with some from my clothes behind me. I backed myself into an ally and then everything set in. I started crying. I tried to keep quiet and I did mostly. I was stuck in that ally alone until the man found me which wasn't until we started to see specks of the sun over the houses.

"W-wha-what was th-that thing?" I was still trying to calm down so my words broke up a bit. He knelt down in front of me and placed a hand on my shoulder gently.

"A demon."

That had happened two weeks ago. The man bandaged my wound and since I couldn't walk anymore carried me home. It was a bit embarrassing looking back and in the moment a bit too, but I couldn't walk and I needed to get home. My parents were so worried when they saw me, but neither of us told them what happened. He gave me a whistle thingy that if I needed to contact him for whatever reason if I blew it a crow would come by later that day to retrieve a letter and deliver it to him. And then he left.

I sobbed and kept vomiting the first day. My parents were so worried. Then I just silently stayed in bed for the next two days. Barely getting up to use the bathroom and not really eating anything. My parents were worried sick and my siblings so confused as to what was happening. I know I should help my mother with my siblings and father and chores but I just couldn't. I was frozen. My siblings  tried to get me out of bed and to move around but I just couldn't. I just looked at them blankly. At some point, I didn't realise when, but Tanjiro had curled up in bed with me. He was only five, and all he did was lay there but he provided so much comfort. Just knowing and being able to hold someone I cared about helped.

Day four is when I finally got up but I didn't really say anything and I ate a little but not much. My parents were happy for the improvement though.

Day five is when I finally told them what had happened. They were horrified. Luckily my siblings were already put to bed when I told them. They honestly probably wouldn't have believed me if they hadn't seen the blood and injuries I had. And the man who was dressed so oddly with a sword at his side. They then tried to comfort me as much as possible but they didn't know how to react themselves. Neither did I.

Day six is when I thought about that man again. I didn't see it but he had killed that thing— that demon. He put his life on the line to protect me.... And I finally figured out what I was going to do. At bout midday to late afternoon I wrote out the letter to him detailing what had happened and what I thought about over the span of these few days. Then I blew the whistle. The crow arrived the next morning, took my letter and left. I didn't wonder when he'd get back to me about my letter but it was sooner than I expected. It happened later that afternoon. He got back to me, with words of warnings of what I'm asking and making sure that I'm sure about my decision. But nevertheless, at the end he put down the information I needed. How to find a someone to teach me how to kill a demon, how to become a demon slayer.

My parents didn't take the news so well, they didn't want me to go, let alone do something like this. But I wouldn't budge. So in the end my mom just made sure I had enough packed and that I was fully healed. But my father did have a talk with me before I left...

"Dad?" I knocked on the door as I opened it, he was sitting up in his futon as he looked out the open shoji doors.

"Himiko, come in." He smiled at me softly and I walked in and sat down next to me. We sat in silence for a few minutes until he reached over and pat my head.

"Yknow you've grown so much." He said more so to himself. "It felt like just yesterday you were the same age as Tanjiro." I giggled at his words.

"Yeah, I'm twelve now."

"Yes you are. Come here." I scooted closer and he pulled me into a hug, I melted into his hold and we stayed like that for a while. "Are you sure about this?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"I wanna protect people. Make sure the same thing doesn't happen to anyone else. Also to protect you guys."

"Himiko..." he didn't say anything but I could tell what he wanted to say.

"I know." I nuzzled my head further into him. "I... I don't want to leave you guys. But I need to do this. I'm sorry."

"No."

"What?" I look up at him.

"Do not be sorry. Do not be guilty for this. I understand, Himiko, this is something you need to do. So do not be sorry."

"Ok dad." I nuzzled further into his hold. He laid back so that we could hold each other more comfortably. We stayed like that holding each other for a couple more minutes.

"Just... make sure to write to us ok? Write to us about everything, your training, anything you learn, any events, if your happy, simply about your life as well. Just write to us ok?"

"I will dad. Everyday. I promise."

"Good. Thank you." We again fell into silence until he moved to sit up, I got up and helped him up. He pointed to a drawer. "There is a box in there, could you get that for me." I stood up and walked over to the drawer and opened it. I immediately knew what he was talking about. It was a wooden chest like box carved to perfection. It had golden hints to it, especially on the curves, and seemed very delicate. I picked it up gently and brought it over to him. He took it in his hands and placed it on his lap.

"Himiko." I looked at him but he was looking at the box. "In this box is a family heirloom. It's been in our family for many years just like the dance I do every year." I nodded to his words, listening very closely. "It's passed down every time the first born of each generation comes of age. But I'm making a special exception, I want to give this to you because I know you'll be ready for this when you finally become a demon slayer but I'm not sure if we'll get the chance to give it to you when that happens. So just do me a favour, don't open it or touch it until that time comes ok?"

"Ok dad. I promise." He smiled at me softly and pulled me into another hug.

"I'm going to miss you."

"I'll miss you too dad."

"Make sure to come back to us ok?"

"I will."

My mother hugged me tightly when it was time for me to go. She had just finished fussing over if I had enough food or had packed enough clothes and money (even though they needed it more they still insisted I take some in case).

"I'll miss you mom."

"I'll miss you too. Come back home safely, ok?"

"Ok." She tightened the hug a bit and then let go. I knelt down and gave Tanjiro a hug. "Make sure to take care of the family for me ok? Be a good boy and listen to mom ok?"

"I will!" He cheered and hugged me tightly. I hugged him back and patted his head. "Will you be back?"

"Of course! It just... might take a while..."

"Don't take too long ok?!" Nezuko butted in. "We'll miss you!"

"Yeah big sis!" Tanjiro agreed. I laughed softly and patted their heads.

"'imi'o..." I looked up to see Takeo reached out to me from where he was held in moms arms. "No go 'imi'o, no go."

"Aw, I have to Takeo! I'm sorry." I said and held his little hand and kissed his forehead. Mom held him out for me to carry one last time before I left and I took him. I bounced him on my hip and held him close. "But don't worry, I'll be back! I promise. And I'll come back with sweets for you ok?"

"Hey us too!" Nezuko pouted and laughed again.

"And you too!" I passed him back to mom and took a few steps away. "I already said goodbye to dad. So I guess it's time for me to go." I said softly.

"Be safe."

"Come back soon!"

"Don't take too long!"

"Don't forget you promised us sweets!"

I could hear their voices fade as I walked away and started my journey.

And that's how I left. I said my goodbyes and left on my way to find Jigoro Kuwajima.
