Literal years ago (the first one I made, the DEH one, was made in August of 2021) I had an idea to make a full ten edit set of letters in musicals. But then... well, a lot of things happened and the project never got finished and in fact, I stopped making musical theatre gifs at all. Without any note or explanation, I just kind of disappeared, and then only recently resurfaced to start posting about Death Note. But while looking through my hard drive, I found these.

They were hard to make and I'm proud of them, but I also know the final four will never be made. I don't even know if I remember now what they were supposed to be. So here.

My final general musical theatre gifset and the farewell I owed you all years ago. This blog will remain, continuing to post about Death Note with a heavy preference to my personal favorite version (the musical) until the hyperfixation passes and then it will probably go dormant again, but I will always be around, even if I'm not posting. Oh my gosh i love martha so much she deserves so much better but i do hate how she was kinda used as a plot device to get wendla ro talk to melchior and the beating scene

The dark i know well - Its so haunting and it really shows how alone and isolated martha and ilse feel in their experiences. The lyrics are definitely less metaphorical compared to some of the other songs in the show and im so glad of it because it gives a clear view on what the two girls are going through, how they are feeling and how their abusers take advantage of them and the excuses they use - “child the lord wont mind.” The repetition of “theres a part i cant tell, about the dark i know well” showing how martha and ilse are scared and unable to speak up about what is happening to them, weather its because of how they know how society might treat them, the fear of being shunned and never seen the same, or because they know how it might end if their abusers find out, the fear of it only getting worse. Having to keep their experience of abuse a secret only furthering their isolation and loneliness.

when i was really into hamilton in like 2016 jonathan groff was white boy of the month for a while and i was consuming all the groff content that i could and i came across that video of him talking about when he fucked up left behind. and then i listened to left behind and cried and read the wiki page and watched the obc boot and then i woke up here

3. Dream role/character you relate to most

i've been in love with wendla since i laid eyes on her and i would die to play her. im obsessed with her, she's got so much more depth than people realize and that was cut during the transition from play to musical fuck you s*ter and i would love to bring that to my rendition of her. and i was also assaulted when i was her age, i was also suicidal, i was also confused af and my mom was not helpful, i also wanted to be loved so badly, i just see a lot of my teenage self in wendla. i related to her so much when i first saw the show and that's a big reason i got so obsessed with it.

4. Favorite male character

prob moritz or hanschen. they are 2 sides of the same dramatic ass coin. they also have daddy issues and are gay like girl me too.

5. Favorite female character

all of them? wendla holds a special place in my heart but like. there is so much to love about all of them even anna and thea who we know almost nothing about have the building blocks of great characters. i've always loved combining what we know about the characters from both the musical and the play to make more complete characters especially because s*ter cut so much of the girls characterization bc he's a sexist pos fuck you and i def do that with anna and thea.

i can vouch that kathryn gallagher is cool as fuck cuz i met her at a ben platt concert but j groff and jgj seem pretty cool. alex wyse and jbw seem unhinged i think i could hang with them. smf and katie whoever are so talented i wish she wasnt an anti vaxxer. andy mientus attacked me with a candelabra just like riff raff did to rocky😔

Spring Awakening Headcanons Part 1

For some reason I starting wondering what kind of pastries/desserts the SA kids would like, so here we go

Melchior: Croissants. You saw this coming. Melchior is a simple man. He sees a croissant, he eats. It doesn’t matter if it’s good or not.

Wendla: Madelines. Something about how fluffy and sweet they are just seems to me very Wendla like

Moritz: Éclairs — not only are they light and sort of dreamy if done right, you have the contrast between the top frosting and the cream inside that sort of reminds me of the layers of Moritz’s personality

Ilse: Some kind of fruit tart. I have a feeling she’d like something fresh and a little bit tangy and bitter

Hanschen: You know he’s that macaron bitch

Ernst: Strudel, probably. But loaded with vanilla ice cream

Thea: Some sort of muffin that you’d think is simple but is really not. Maybe a maple pumpkin almond or something (can you see I’m bad at flavor pairings?)

Melitta: Cannoli. I literally have no reasoning for this other than she just gives off those vibes

Anna: Glazed donut. She’s a classic.

Georg: I don’t know, he’s probably that heathen who likes white chocolate. Blondies too
