#s8/s9 wishlist

S8 bugs me so much because the way we went into it was so promising with so many interesting threads to pull and then... Gaah! Nothing has been handled well. How tf has TM managed to make it to the position he's at? He's so bloody useless! 911 could have been a really good show in more capable hands and I think that's what frustrates me the most, all the waste. 😭😭 The cast, the crew and the show itself deserve so much better!

Piss off to Nashville Tim, I beg of you!

truly!! there was so much to dig our teeth into, but then..

i know people enjoyed the planemergency, but imho it was wasted on guest characters and should've featured more of the 118 and their resident pilot ofc. the black book, gerrard, and ortiz were all done away with in a snap, and suddenly we had to deal with fanboy gerrard and all the brad bs?? likeWHAT??!! they traded some delicious workplace angst for THAT SHIT??!! throw in some nonsensical abby*tommy where the only link is a first fucking name, terrible advice to buck all around, and ofc follow that up with the commencement of everyone treating buck like a baby who doesn't know his own heart/mind for the rest of the season, then cap it off with turning his grief and attempts to help into attacks, blame games, and guilt-tripping (when he tries to distance himself from the toxic(written) people around him). and WHERE was tommy?? no interactions with his old pal howie?? barely any screentime for buck's boyfriend?? we all know how much screentime and individual plot taylor got - if tommy doesn't get that in s9 is2fg..

and that's not even touching on eddie's near-pointless texas sojourn and horrible treatment of buck. or maddie's non-existence as an independant character, she's just a house-zoned mom, suddenly terrible advice giver, and abuse victim who can't escape bc the plot apparently needs some rando to violate her for shock value. even hen and chim - who have long been entertaining as well as a good dynamic for difficult conversations - had too many of their scenes fumbled or just not exist.

but ALSO: the ensemble show has had its cast separated with little to no crossover in friendships and dynamics which not only makes the characters feel disconnected from each other but sever the audience from that beloved group dyanmic as well as the varied character dynamics. this season seemed to be all about plot twists - nearly every fucking ep had a plot twist, each one dumber than the last, like tim was trying to do something we wouldn't guess instead of, y'know, writing a comprehensible narrative for an enjoyable viewing experience - bc WE DON'T CARE if we guess what happens!! that means the story makes sense and we can journey with it!! what we DON'T WANT are plot twists done for shock value, like hell no - gimme character studies and nuanced fucking drama with technically interesting first responder incidents where the team does their thing!! gimme found family vibes, not: i feel sorry for these ppl being stuck working in that toxic environment vibes.

on a bright note: ravi's return and main team inclusion and budding friendship with buck was *chef's kiss* he's such a welcome breath of fresh air to the team and the show in general, y'know? this ensemble show needs to respect and keep more of their developed characters.

idk what the fuck happened in the creative team this season but it was a MESS. tim fumbled and torpedoed multiple characterisations, storylines, and plot. like. is he okay??? wtf??? now i'm thinking how wonderful it would be if he fucked off to nashville and let s9 be written/run by someone(s) else. i'll take anyone at this point tbh bc i don't want a repeat of that fucking dog's breakfast of a season.

s9 wishlist: ravi mainstay, buck in his own place AND transferring or taking some time off AND ravi/others friendship, bucktommy friends then love for the longrun, maddie gets to be a character again, captain/chief hen, tommy individual storyline, howie grief counselling, gerrard dies offscreen and no one goes to the funeral, ortiz return for vengeance(?), brad dies offscreen - only seen on the front of a newspaper in passing, may and harry living with athena(?), FIX EDDIE like idk - make him a medic and keep ravi as buck's partner and make eddie not be a dick, and improve josh's involvement bc he was annoying af and pointless in s8.

+ bonus: return of sal deluca - captain of elsewhere and friend of tommy, return of lucy - tommy's friend and coworker, and other first responder guest characters we see for more than 2 seconds.

also because i like kim in general i thought it was a pity that her PTSD story was thrown away and she was only "shown" in 9x02 the aftermath of roy shooting at her and that potential was wasted and because jay is in the unit who is the If you know PTSD best I would have liked it if you had shown several scenes between kim and jay since they generally have hardly any scenes together since season 1 😥 well I don't ship burgstead upstead will always be number one but more screentime between them i would have wished for both of them... i mean marina and jesse are already making fun of it with their jake and kate photos 😂😔 how do you see that when kim's PTSD was not addressed that you wasted a lot of potential?

I agree! It's a shame that the writers completely ignored Kim's PTSD. They showed her suffering in 9x02, and then in 9x03, she was back to normal. I kinda wish that instead of focusing on the Burzek drama, they showed Kim dealing with her PTSD. Either going to therapy herself or talking to a friend about it.

I personally don't care about the lack of Jay and Kim interactions. I think the joke between Jesse and Marina is hilarious, but seeing more Jay and Kim is not on my S10 wishlist. But you are right; showing Kim deal with her PTSD could have been a great way to show Jay and Kim interact. I really hope Kim went to therapy off-screen after everything that happened to her the past few seasons. In S6, she saw her boyfriend murdered. In S7, she miscarried after a brutal assault. S8, she was kidnapped and shot. S9 her daughter was abducted. Kim actually reminds me of Meredith Grey from Grey's Anatomy. 😂 Every season, something traumatic happens to the doctor, but we never see her go to therapy or take care of her mental health. That's the same thing that's happened with Kim.

Kim is such a badass cop and is trying her best to be an excellent single mom, but it's important that we see her take care of her mental health. I thought the writers would focus on her mental health and PTSD in S9, especially since Marina teased that we would see more of that. Definitely disappointed we never saw that.

So I’m starting to lock in on what exactly I want to do with For As Long As We Get over the long-run, the overall plot of the series and an idea of an ending point. The plan right now (always changeable at the whims of my muse, of course) is to continue to mirror each episode through the end of s8, including Last Christmas, then mirror a few things from s9 while continuing to take it further and further AU from the canon plotline, and eventually give the whole series a satisfying ending.

I’m still in the sketchy planning phases for most of this, with a few scenes written here and there, so I thought now would be a good time to ask those of you following the series -- do you have anything you’d like to see me tackle in For As Long As We Get? Any wishlist items? Moments from s8 or s9 you’d want to see mirrored in this AU? Tropes you would love to see utilized? I am open to any and all suggestions!

yo i totes skipped out of spn during s9 - and i remember all the happy buzz during s8 that was a wild time - but recently got back in and aaahhh the destiel ???? is possible ???? more than before??? (im partly optimistic with healthy scepticism but i can hardly believe at times where it's at right now)

FRIEN I KNOW RIGHT?

After the debacle that was season 9, I didn’t think that there was *anything* that SPN could do to drag me back in.    Cas grabbing Demon Dean?  *snifff*    Luci possessing Cas?  Bah-humbug!   Child Amara walking down to the street to that god awful song “Girl You’ll Be a Woman Soon.”   I kept up with major events, watching a Cas episode here and there, but not livewatching or even watching most of the season.

But….. then I heard about an episode in season 12 where Cas was …a woman.  I was intrigued.  See, putting Cas in a female vessel was on my own personal list of things that might indicate Destiel was going (more) canon.  Overtly jealous protective Dean was another one.  Then I heard about the mixtape…and I wasn’t sure what to think.   During season 13, I started watching season 12 and now I’m partway through season 13….and wow.   There really is quite a lot there.  There’s some standard SPN no homo but still….

My list as best I can remember from the days of season 7 and early season 8:

Clarify that Jimmy is dead and gone (season 10)

Get rid of Cas’s virginity, establishing that he does like and enjoy sex (season 9, ick, btw, thanx for nothing show)

Show Dean as bisexual or having more overt bisexual interests. (…?…the confession, or flirting with golem boy maybe)

Establish that Cas is part of the family and as important to Dean, differently, than Sam. (pretty solidly done seas 11, 12, 13)

Have Cas become human.  (seas 8)

But before we’re solidly into ‘will they or won’t they’ SOMETHING has to happen to show that things are now different….

Show any or all of the following will they or won’t they romantic tropes:

Overt jealousy when the loved one is paying attention/flirting with someone else.

Others assume they are a couple.

Put Cas in a female vessel and have Dean flirt with him.

They are physically closer, maybe they fall asleep, one’s head on the other’s shoulder.

They are trapped somewhere for an unknown length of time.

Bring in someone that one of them actually dates and show how they don’t work while Dean and Cas DO (and jealousy, of course, ensues).

Have Dean finally ask Cas out and have Sam come along, all unknowing, before gradually realizing to his horror that he interrupted..a date.

Have an Almost kiss (seriously? they did this with Daphne in Scoobynatural!  Boo SPN).  

The one thing we were missing back in Season 8…and still missing, from what I can tell, is the TRIGGER that happens that tells even a casual viewer that THINGS HAVE CHANGED.  Something to put us firmly into ‘will they or won’t they’ (if that’s where the show is going–it makes sense to me, because it’s keeps their relationship important, unconsummated and they can keep it to a mention every few episodes or so, but I’m obviously not one of the writers!)

Now you could argue that 10 seasons of UST plus a mixtape already solidly puts us in “will they?” territory…and I might agree…  But then we should see more pointed nods to it this season.  Korrasami at least had a close up of a handhold by now!!!

I guess that’s my Destiel wishlist this season.  Dean and Cas hold hands at an emotional moment.  Not shoulders…not faces, not arms wrapped around waist or chest…hold hands.

AS3 WISHLIST

OBVIOUSLY a LOT of this is just me talking favorites but i really do think a lot of these people could do well, u know?

Morgan McMichaels (S2): i ADORE morgan, she is a socal LEGEND, and i really think she could slay a lil. she’s charismatic, she PAINTS, shes funny, and i really think she’s super underratted, i want her to get the tatianna treatment

Mariah Balenciaga (S3): TBH, she’s the other queen who i want to get a tati treatment, she can PERFORM, she can PAINT, shes got that ball room charm, her OUTFITS, literally i just want her to receive a ru-demption.

Willam Dida Ritz (S4): i would LOVE to see willam on tv again, but she’s said she’s def not on, SO im gonna go w/ dida ritz who holds a special place in my heart bc she was the first ru girl i ever saw irl, ALSO i think shes just a fun person?? not sure if she could win, but id love to see her personality on tv again :)

Lineysha Sparx (S5): idc idc idc lineysha had some LOOKS during her season and her makeup is always ON her lipsyncs are cute I JUST WANNA SEE WHAT SHE COULD BRING

Courtney Act (S6): one of my all time fav queens say what yall want about her makeup but she slayed on s6 and i PERSONALLY think she did better than adore bc ALL of her lewks were solid imo i think she could maybe win as3 if she was on

Gia Gunn (S6): honestly, im not sure how well she would do, BUT literally everything she says is hilarious for one reason or another, and i want MORE

Trixie Mattel (S7): another one of my all time fav queens, i think she could do a lot better on as3 than s7 bc i think she was a bit hesitant to go full force w/ the trixie humor on s7, but its been so well received that i think she could a lot more w/ it on the show, ALSO her lewk and just general drag aesthetic and persona has crystallized to the point that shes much more cohesive as an entertainer

Kim Chi (S8): yet another one of my all time fav queens id LOVE to see kim chi stomp the runway again. i think shed do really really well, because shes (hopefully) stepped up all of the weak spots that could’ve sent her home during s8 (performance, lip sunching, perhaps dancing?)

Chi Chi Devayne (S8): chi chi was FIERCE on the basic budget she had during s8, so imagine how much better her drag could be after a few years of almost constant performing and all of the money that comes with getting rpdr exposure

Shea Coulee (S9): not only one of my all time favs but THE all time fav i live and would die for shea coulee, so half of me wants to see more of her IMMEDIATELY but the other half of me wants her to wait until as4 so she can SAIL through the competition

if we get 12 again, i also want milk and kennedy davenport

this list is super unlikely, so im guessing that the actual cast will look more like milk, bendelacreme, trixie, valentina, derrick barry, aja, laila mcqueen, chi chi, and maybe mariah (who has had a lot of sudden exposure on billboard, hey qween, the finale warm up, etc).

5G is coming

We are expecting that the Galaxy S11 will natively support 5G. We also believe that Samsung will use the Qualcomm’s latest 5G modem chips, the X50, and X55.

Better Cameras

We might also see a 64MP camera on the Galaxy S11.

Price and Release Date

Past few years trend shows that Samsung releases their flagships along the lines of Mobile World Congress. The same thing happened with the Galaxy S10, S9, S8 launch all of them debuted during or after MWC.

So we expect that the Samsung Galaxy S11 will make its appearance during MWC 2020.

Pricing will definitely see a bump when compared to the previous generation. We suspect, the Galaxy S11 to hover around the $1000 mark.
