1000 hours.  It’s ten o’clock in whatever time zone this sleeper station belongs to, and Crosshair finds himself waiting for word of a Medic as the other strangers surrounding him read, plan, or else just plain pace, grumble, and glare at the dusty clock on the wall as though they’d personally love to choke the life from it and dance upon its corpse.

Not that he’s watching anyone else too closely, oh no.  Certainly not him.  Rather, he’s just…glancing occasionally in their respective directions, listening to the rare whispered conversation, and vaguely wondering what’s taking them so long to be rid of him.

His biggest thought of all, though?

“This shouldn’t have happened.”

Simple.  He’s wondering just why he’s supposed to wait for any medical care at all, if they’re only going to end his life when the timing's right.

Furthermore, the one with the skull tattoo is looking a bit agitated now, a curious thing considering Crosshair knows he hasn’t done that much since they first brought him here.

The skull-faced Hull had hoped to give him absolute hell today, no doubt because of that constant, infuriating scowl frozen upon his face.

“ ‘Decommissioned’…?  What the kriff are you talking about?”

“You know what, Hull.  Me coming here just so I could get put out of my karking misery.”

Too bad the poor Trooper was working himself up over nothing.

Crosshair watched the Head Hull go silent with mild interest, wondering to himself if Skullface was going to laugh in Ashen’s face and call him too peaceful and consoling to ever be a part of this perfect “squad” ever again, never mind tell him to back to Kamino so that the rest of them could go back to begging for scraps in total safety.

Apparently he’d woken up on the wrong side of the bunk today.

Well, what a shame it would be if nobody else patted him on the head and sang his praises simply for "wanting to get away from it all".

Apparently this Omega was a lot more interesting, also, than whatever case these other two Hulls had wanted to present, otherwise Skullface himself would have stayed put.

Ah, well.  It wouldn't be the first time someone was in a hurry to forget he’d ever been decanted, so chances were that it also wouldn’t be the last.

‘Ashen’ starts rubbing the back of his head with his right hand, the slight visual tell of a Trooper in distress, and Crosshair finds himself wondering if he should attempt to offer up any comforting words to cool down this tense atmosphere, or if it would be better to just remain silent so he wouldn’t betray himself too much.

“…Pardon me if I’m not just as nervous as he is about this whole thing.”

“What are you getting at this time…?”

Then again…the pair before him certainly must have noticed him after all, for the next thing he himself knew, they were both eyeing him with the ultimate expression of wariness.

“Oh, nothing at all.  I’m just wondering when you’re going to jump out of that bed and start attacking, but don’t mind me—”

The ashen Hull then raises his half an arm in Cross’s direction, the scomp gleaming in the dim light like some miniature star.
