Disk Rotating Over Brazil Apartments
Probably one of the best UFO videos to be filmed in São Paulo since I can remember. We see it rotating way above the apartment building, that's not a drone on my opinion it's too big.

UFOs in Brazil, the official story
Reports on the more than 700 unidentified flying objects investigated by the Air Force for more than 60 years are available at the National Archives for researchers and the curious.
One day in May of 1986, the head of the Brazilian Air Force – Lieutenant General Octávio Júlio Moreira Lima – summoned the press to Brasilia, the capital. He gave them a briefing about the extraordinary events that had occurred the previous Monday, which led him to order the deployment of five fighter jets. He sent them to pursue and intercept 21 UFOs, which had been sighted by hundreds of civilian and military witnesses – and detected by radar – in four states. Unfortunately, none of the aircraft managed to reach the luminous objects, which escaped with unthinkable twists and speeds.
The minister – who appeared with the five military pilots and air traffic controllers who monitored the sightings – promised a detailed report about the frenetic hours within a month. It took him much longer, but finally, many years later, it was published. And anyone can read it, as it’s been made available by the National Archives of Brazil, either in-person at the headquarters in Brasilia, or online.
NASA’s recent decision to adopt a methodology to study what it calls “unidentified anomalous phenomena” has brought the UFO collection of the National Archives of Brazil to the fore. Prepared more than six decades ago by the Air Force, it contains some 20,000 pages of reports – many with confidential seals – and drawings, as well as audios, videos, photographs, correspondence and press clippings related to the 743 incidents recorded by Brazil’s military between 1952 and 2016.
The US space agency has also announced the appointment of a director to lead the investigations… something that has a peculiar precedent in Brazil. From 1969 until 1972, a soldier – Commander Giberto Zani de Mello – oversaw a unit that was created within the Armed Forces to systematically monitor these unexplained phenomena that, for so many people, evoke the possibility of extraterrestrial life. It was called the Unidentified Aerial Object Investigation System (SIOANI) and its headquarters were based in a central neighborhood of São Paulo.
In the midst of the last Brazilian military dictatorship (1964-1985), the fact that a team of uniformed men were being asked by the high command to gather information about UFO-related events generated both alarm and curiosity. Officials from SIOANI traveled around the country to interview witnesses, writing up reports that included sketches – some of which portrayed a wide variety of flying saucer models – and producing a bulletin.

On May 19, 1986, 21 unidentified flying objects, some of them up to 100 meters in diameter, were sighted by multiple witnesses, both civilian and military, in four states: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais and Goiás.
The UFOs were also detected by radars from the Brazilian Air Force's Integrated Center for Air Defense and Air Traffic Control. Five Brazilian Air Force fighter jets were activated by the Air Defense Operations Center to intercept the alleged invaders.
"Sometimes, the pilots had visual contact with the targets, but the radars did not register anything. Other times, the radars even picked up the presence of objects, but the pilots could not see them. The Air Force considered only the sightings that had simultaneous confirmation" , said Sérgio Mota, flight controller.
On May 23, 1986, at 4:30 pm, the then Minister of Aeronautics, Brigadier Octávio Júlio Moreira Lima, called a press conference to inform the press that five FAB fighter jets chased 21 UFOs.

Only 23 years later, on September 25, 2009, a report on the case, signed by the interim Air Force Command (COMDA) José Pessoa Cavalcanti de Albuquerque and dated June 2, 1986, was released.
"This Command is of the opinion that the phenomena are solid and reflect, in a certain way, intelligence, due to the ability to follow and maintain a distance from observers, as well as to fly in formation, not necessarily manned", said the dossier.

My dear @wyn-n-tonic challenged me to choose 10 facts about me. Girl, that was hard, but here it is!
1. I’ve been studying theater since I was 9 years old (I’m 27). In 2016 the Brazilian version of Wicked has opened in São Paulo and when I left the theatre after watching it I realized that musical theatre was what I wanted to do within my life. Nowadays I’m graduated in musical theatre, and I’m currently study singing, musical theory, jazz dancing, and tap dancing.
2. When I was 9 I fell off my house stairs and broke my clavicle on my grandma’s birthday. I also broke one tooth felling in the bathroom when I was a child (luckily it was a baby tooth).
3. I simply LOVE languages! I speak Brazilian Portuguese as my mother language, but also English and French. I’m able to read a few things in Japanese too, but I don’t know the translations. I wish I can learn Spanish soon.
4. I haven’t ever met my grandfathers, both of them were already passed away when I was born.
5. I left Brazil just once until today. I went to Argentina in 2014 and it was amazing, I think about it every single day.
6. My father was responsible for my love for Star Wars. He’s been a fan since the 70s and I grew up listening to the story of a farm boy who became Jedi. Actually, mom and dad were also responsible for several things I like today, mainly music.
7. I have a phobia of ETs, UFOs, and everything related to it since I was I don’t know... 4, maybe 5. Signs is the most terrifying thriller EVER to me.
8. I collect soccer jerseys from countries. My collection is Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Portugal, France, German, and Japan. I wish I can buy Chile and Colombia in the next World Cup.
9. 100% of the people who live in the same house as I do (my parents, me, and my two sisters) have their names starting with the letter L. There are four more members of my family whose name starts with L too.
10. A lot of things I speak when I'm talking to somebody are movies or series quotations. Seriously, a LOT.
.
Now it's your turn my loves @folklord @mrpascals 💕

Scarecrow in Brazil
Jonathan Crane in Brazil!
He first went with Pamela to the Amazon rainforest, she loves the biodiversity and lore. It's got its name when spanish invaders found a tribe made of only women and said girls kicked the colonizers butts, so they thought they've found the legendary Amazons.
Pamela wanted to study the Terra Preta (black soil) which is a soil very fertile found through the forest invented by the indiginous commumities pre-columbus.
John wanted to study plants and fungus for his fear toxins, Pamela hates him, but she needs help smuggling plants from the forest.
After their research is complete, the scarecrow travels and tries to poison the water supply of a small town. Only to fail because the tecnology of my people is superior.
As I mentioned in my post Scarecrow, Brazil and T-posing, a very popular thing in homes here is a filter made of clay, that was internationally recognized as the best type of filter.
Frustrated he decided to explore the big cities. He enjoyed Recife for it's the most haunted city in Brazil.
I like to think he went to a small town near São Paulo called Paranabiacaba (from tupi-guarany, the place from where you can see the sea) another Haunted planced here.
Because of the British vibe here happens a Steampunk convention every year ( I love it)
There's witch convention's here too every year.
Aaand the UFO observers convention, because there's been UFO sights in the town.
Jonathan thought about how much Jervis would like this place, since it was heavily influenced by the british, who've buit the railways for deliverying trades and goods.
Every day a thic fog falls in the town, it's called o Véu da Noiva (The Bride's veil) said to be a curse from a ghostly bride.
The last place he visited was São Paulo, he was amazed by the Bairro da Liberdade, a place that came to be from the black community and the japanese community, heavily influenced by both. Brazil has the largest number of japanese people outside from Japan.
A Universidade do Largo São Francisco is a public university of Law, the best in the country.
John learned about Álvares de Azevedo because he has a statue of him in front of the university.
The statue was at first locatedin another place in Liberdade, but eventully the law students stole it and displayed in front of the building.
At night hordes of students went down a street to go home, so the streen was named Rua dos Estudantes.
Alvares de Azevedo went trhough a shortcut by the Cemitério dos Aflitos (Cemetery of the Aflicted), nowaday the cemetery was moved elsewhere but the chapel with a popular saint is still there.
We have a street plaque pointing to Rua dos Estudantes (Student's Street) and it's street alongside... Rua dos Aflitos (The Afflicted's Street).
John found it very amusing ad appropriated.
Well Alvares de Azevedo lived in of an all paited black mansion from one of the mistress of Dom Pedro I, King of Portugal. It had the statue of a faun in it's front.
No wonder he became the most famous writer of Gothic Literature in Brazil.
NOW THE STAROF THE SHOW!
Long time ago the university had a secret society, rumours says it had great influence in the director and even in deciding professor's positions.
It started with a professor creating a club/sistem so older students could pass down their used books to the newer students, helping each other a lot because books are expensive.
It became popular and grew and grew and with it the professor became influentional.
And then Jonathan Crane cut his vacation short because he was DONE. HE COULD HAVE HAD ALL THIS POWER, I DID TRY TO MAKE BOOKS MORE ACCESIBLE TO STUDENTS. I COULD HAVE MADE A CULT. WITH ENOUGH INFLUENCE TO FIRE TOSE BASTARDS WHO FIRED ME OVER THAT GUN INCIDENT.
I COULD HAVE FIIIIIREEED THEM AAAALLLLLL.
GODAMMIT.

5 places to experience Brazil’s contemporary art
Native American buildings were the original architecture and building blocks of Brazil. More colonial styles became prevalent with arrival of the Portuguese in the 1500s and these cobbled streets and ornate buildings remain well preserved. However it was in the 1960s that Brazil entered the ‘big league’ of the world architecture scene with a modernist movement led by Oscar Niemeyer who’s enduring masterpiece is Brazil’s capital, Brasilia. Niemeyer blazed a trail for other modern architects, landscape designers and contemporary artists to follow. Their work can be found throughout Brazil. Here we round up for you our ‘must see’ cities in Brazil for contemporary art and architecture.
Brasilia
Brasília is Brazil’s futuristic federal capital and is the work of architects Oscar Niemeyer, Lúcio Costa and Joaquim Cardozo, along with landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx, who were united in their vision of simplicity and modernity. Brasília was chosen as a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its modernist architecture and uniquely artistic urban planning. Highlights for visitors include the Palácio da Alvorada – the official residence of the president of Brazil. Inaugurated in 1958, it is of the first structures built in the republic’s new capital city and gives the impression of being a glass box, softly sitting on the ground with the support of thin external columns. Nearby is the National Congress building designed by Oscar Niemeyer in a modern Brazilian style, with two semi-spheres housing the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies that flank two vertical office towers. The building has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. Also worth seeing in Brasilia is the impressive JK Bridge that spans Lake Paranoá, famous for its three 60m tall asymmetrical steel arches that crisscross diagonally.
São Paulo
In São Paulo it’s even possible to sleep in some of the city’s most daring modern architecture. Known locally as ‘the Watermelon’ for its striking crescent shape, Hotel Unique has visually stunning design crafted by Brazilian architect, Ruy Ohtake, who intended the 95-room hotel to look like the curved hull of a ship, complete with porthole windows.
Also in the city next to Burle Marx Park is Palácio Tangará hotel, which has an open-air contemporary art gallery that is free to enter. This summer, the gallery is featuring the work of Brazilian artist and sculptor, Caciporé Torres, winner of three editions of the International Biennial.
Close by Palácio Tangará is the Museum of Art São Paulo (MASP), which has a collection of iconic artworks by the likes of old world masters such as Goya and El Greco. MASP is notable for its concrete and glass entrance hall designed 1968 by Lina Bo Bardi. Two lateral beams support the main body of the structure over a 74 metre freestanding space. It is considered a landmark of the city and a main symbol of modern Brazilian architecture. Stepping up to the 21st century, São Paulo’s Museum of Image & Sound (MIS) is currently showing a digital exhibit by the Icelandic singer Björk. On display in São Paulo until 18 August 2019, the exhibition Björk Digitalis divided into six areas composed of virtual reality and immersive audio-visual elements illustrating in an interactive way the poetic images of songs by the artist.
Belo Horizonte
When flying into Belo Horizonte, contemporary art lovers should drive straight to the Inhotim Institute 60km away. Nothing quite prepares you for Inhotim and it is often described as Disneyland for art lovers! Inhotim is a beautiful farm in the Atlantic Rainforest, with incredible landscaping by Brazil’s most famous landscape architect, Roberto Burle Marx. It is home to the largest collection of contemporary art in Latin America, with over 20 galleries and pavilions, each dedicated to different artists, both Brazilian and International. The best way to explore the complex is to lose yourself amid the beautiful park and visit the galleries at your own pace over two days. If you are bringing children don’t worry, they will love it to!
Rio de Janeiro
Rio de Janeiro has been inspiring artists and architects for over a century. At the centre is the Art Deco masterpiece, Belmond Copacabana Palace, and having a caipirinha poolside at the ‘Copa’ is still a must do for all visitors to Rio. Commissioned in 1922 to celebrate a century of Brazilian independence, the hotel’s Golden Book overflows with the names of famous faces who’ve visited, from Brigitte Bardot to Justin Bieber; Walt Disney to Diana, Princess of Wales. It was even immortalised in film in Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire’s 1933 hit, Flying Down to Rio.
Over on Ipanema Beach, the Fasano Hotel Rio de Janeiro was the first building in Brazil designed by Philippe Starck. It’s architecture and interior design pay homage to the spirit of Brazilian design of the 1950’s and 1960’s and the glorious Bossa Nova era.
In the heart of Rio’s West Zone is the former residence of the architect and landscape designer, Roberto Burle Marx, which is home to one of the most significant collections of tropical and subtropical plants in the world. The property was designed and built by Burle Marx as a framework for his collection that contains over 3,500 species, replicating Brazilian habitats such as mangroves, sandbanks and the Atlantic Forest. Visitors can take guided tours to discover the architecture, studio paintings and personal collections of Burle Marx. There is also the Burle Marx House museum, which preserves 3,125 pieces, including rare objects of art and crafts gathered through his life.
Niterói
When staying in Rio de Janeiro, it’s worth dedicating a day to catching a boat across the Guanabara Bay to Niterói, home to the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC), another iconic building designed by Oscar Niemeyer and opened in 1996. The MAC dominates the Niterói skyline, set on a cliffside with a 16-metre high, 50-metre diameter saucer-shaped modernist structure, which has been likened to a UFO. In the film Oscar Niemeyer, an architect committed to his century, Niemeyer is seen flying over Rio de Janeiro in a UFO that then lands on the site, suggesting this to be the origin of the museum.
