Ryusui: you might be shocked he’s low… but let me explain! Hyoga: okay an odd choice for the bottom, but also a good choice. I’ll explain. He’s got excellent self control and torture skills. He’s likely to control himself well and he’s not all that affected by your attempts to get his attention. The most likely to make you wait and ALSO not let you help yourself at all. Do you guys not understand the impact cold characters are to characters that are not just necessarily hot, but are happy, peppy, living, generous, light of the world, puppy dog energy. When he’s first revived again, he’s a little too focused on retrieving the others to really focus on that aspect of the mission. He does immediately notice you, Kohaku, and Ginrou missing tho,,,

Even when you slide in with Amaryllis after Kohaku and Ginrou’s petrification, he’s a little busy to fully take in your new look

He doesn’t pass up the chance to get closer to you during Gen’s attempts to manipulate Mozu, taking up the space between you and the conversation and lacing your fingers together

He’s not used to seeing you so dressed up and he’ll be sure to keep you as such once humanity starts reaching its past levels (but don’t be surprised in the future when he suddenly gifts you extravagant outfits and makeup that perfectly matches your complexion)

i was wondering if i could request a small drabble or headcanons for ryusui !! i keep having this repeating idea of him with a reader who’s like his childhood friend and ever since they were young, ryusui always tried to pursue them romantically but reader would always just laugh it off, thinking he was joking. but ryusui never gave up on his love for the reader!!

(spoilers for the treasure island arc)

but once everyone on the perseus gets petrified, leaving the reader (who had gone with the recon team to scout the area), reader starts to realize just how much they were worried for him, and especially when he comes back to them in fragments after kohaku smashed him. and the second that he gets revived, the reader is all over him and telling him how worried they were, and the second that the two of them are alone (maybe the team recognized that they were having a moment and let them have it?) reader confesses that they return his feelings and the possibility of possibly losing him helped them realize that? O:

male reader would be preferred (ryusui bi icon frfr), but i dont mind gender neutral!! :D

ever since you were kids you were always the main thing on his mind. he was constantly teasing you and clinging to your side. as you got older it turned into him flirting with you and seeing how far he could push your buttons until you got flustered.

when senku broke him from the stone he was more focused on you than himself, he knew you had an impressive skill set and he used that to his advantage. even if they didn’t have enough revival fluid he brought you along anyways, dressing your statue so when they could revive you, you were ready to go.

when you came to you immediately fell into someone’s arms. their hold on you was firm but also familiar, and their scent was familiar too it was almost comforting. you pulled back to look back at them, and you were met with ryusui smiling down at you “i missed you.”

you laughed and gently removed yourself from his hold “i’m sure you did.” you didn’t notice it but his face slightly faltered.

his flirting was no better when the two of you were alone, as a matter of fact, it was only worse. the two of you sat alone staring at the moon, he spent most of the time staring at you instead of the sky “you’re so handsome, the way you shine in the moonlight is amazing.” you laughed again and rolled your eyes. you always assumed his flirting was just empty words, he was the human version of greed after all he craves everything the world has to offer and he does this to everyone.

“you don’t have to keep saying those things ryusui. i know you don’t mean them.”

he stared at you, no matter how many times he tells you he adores you or how many times he admits how he wants nothing more in the world than you, you never believed him.

at least not until the incident.

when you first laid eyes on his stone body you wanted to scream but you couldn't, the scream was barely louder than a whisper hardly a scream at all. it only got harder when kohaku brought him and the others back as fragments.

the second he was revied the team cleared out and kohaku sent you a knowing glance.

one the two of you were alone you immediately wrapped your arms around him pulling him into a hug "i was so worried about you, i thought i lost you." he returned your embrace and rested a hand on the back of your head pulling you closer to him "you could never lose me." he pressed a gentle kiss to your temple, and for the first time instead of backing away from his affection you accepted it.

you gently pull back from his hug to look at him face to face "i've realized some things."

he raises a brow "and what would that be?"

"how much i care for you, and how much you care for me." his hand moves to gently cup your cheek while his thumb gently caressed your cheek "oh? and how much do i care for you?"

"you've basically spent most of our lives trying to win me over, and every time i never really responded to them or gave you any straight answer. so why did you never give up?"

he smiled at you "that's easy. because i'm the greediest guy there is." your face slightly fell which caused him to chuckle "you didn't let me finish. because i'm the greediest guy there is i know there's no greater treasure than your heart. i'd stop at nothing to make you my boyfriend and to be yours."

Sitting comfortably on the couch, you scrolled through your phone viewing posts and videos around. Arms were placed each beside you, making you look up to see a blonde man closing the gap between you two, placing a quick peck before pulling away.

Ah...right, how could you forget? Your so-called "Greediest man alive" of a husband. He does his typical humorous laugh and snaps his fingers.

'How is my lovely dear doing?' He speaks his usual flamboyant voice, placing himself beside you and wrapping his arms around your waist, you sighed softly and pats his head, with him leaning towards your touch, despite his extroverted and open personality, it's still adorable to see this side of him to you.

Before you could answer his question, he made himself comfortable around you by laying on your lap, pulling your hand on his head for pats and your other hand with his to fiddle around with, definitely loving this.

"I'm doing fine as always, Ryusui." You giggle at his antics and began patting his head softly while your other hand was played around with your husband, intertwining your hands and rubbing your knuckles time to time.

To be honest, you never even expected to be with a guy like him, moreover to get married to him, or even expect for him to be the one who fell for you at the first place.

You were just walking around the town, trying to find the library, possibly going to find some books that pique your interest and rent them for awhile to enjoy reading them on your apartment.

Through your walk, you passed by a flower shop, you stopped to take a glance at the flowers that were displayed around, before considering to buy some later when you finally get some books to read, but you noticed a man in the shop, of course buying some flowers but it looked weird because of the flower shop owner and this man seemed to be arguing, curious, you hesitantly went in to help with the poor old owner.

'I desire this bouquet!' The strange man exclaimed, with the owner fidgeting nervously "But sir, those are not for sale !" the owner mentioned, trying to reason with this man. Before they could bicker further, they heard the door open with the bells hitting, signaling your presence, you looked at the both of them as they stared right back at you, surprised, but the old man composed himself and welcomes you in the shop, you bowed slightly and roamed around the shop trying to find flowers to your liking, not uttering a word.

You originally planned to offer help but it's better to listen in what the problem is before helping, in the meantime you can also find flowers that you'll buy later.

The old man looked at you before trying to reason with the man again, to not disturb you finding flowers. "Like I said sir, these aren't for sale..." You heard what the owner said as your eyes landed on a certain flower, sighing as you finally found something, you stood up and slowly walked towards the two men, understanding the situation now.

You saw the flower that the strange man wanted to buy and you faced towards him.

"Is there a special occasion for you to buy flowers?"

He laughed humoursly and snapped his fingers, smiling brightly. "There is, pretty lady !"

You chuckled lightly at his response "May I ask what that occasion is? If you don't mind me asking.." looking at him with calm eyes, he looked directly to yours seeing his hazel eyes shining before responding.

"Today is my beloved mother's birthday! And I am here to buy a bouquet of flowers as my present along with my other presents for her!" His voice tells that he really loves his mother and always is grateful to have her within his life. You looked over the flower he wanted, seeing a Yellow Carnation, ah that's why the owner wouldn't give it to him.

"Well, I guess this type of flower isn't fit to be something you'll give to your beloved mother, sir." You spoke, he looked a tad confused.

"What do you mean?" Confused by your sudden remark you explained to him briefly.

"As you can see, Yellow Carnation can mean rejection or disappointment on someone, and I'm sure that's not something you feel towards your mother, am I correct?" You motioned to face him waiting for his answer.

He was quite shocked by this discovery but immediately exclaimed once again "Of course! I do not hold any hatred towards my mother!"

You giggled with his response and looked around the shop to try and find other flowers that is fitting to be a present.. You caught a flower and picked a bouquet of it and gently placed it infront of him.

"I suggest these Pink Carnations instead, it symbolize gratitude, love and respect, fitting to be a present to your mother." You smiled while eyeing the bouquet then looking at him.

He stared at you for a moment, you were sure that you saw his cheeks flush for a moment then turning back to normal, he smiles and takes the bouquet from you.

"I must say, your knowledge about flower symbolism is something very admirable pretty lady !" He laughed cheerfully and faces towards the owner who's been staring at the both of you for awhile now ' I'll get these instead sir!" The owner nodded as the transaction went peacefully.

"You two would honestly look good together." The owner said with a smile on their face, you looked at them, a bit surprised, same goes for the man before you both chuckled.

"You really think so sir?" The man asked before turning back to look at you "Well, I do think of that aswell" He smiled at you making you break your calm facade by being flustered.

He chuckled and took your hand, kissing the back of it quickly and gently let's go of it, making you blush more.

"My name is Ryusui, Nanami Ryusui, may I know your name? Or are you okay of being called 'pretty lady'?" He teased making you chuckle lightly before saying your name to him.

You two went outside the shop, presumably about to get going on your own matters.

"What a beautiful name you have, it is nice to meet you!" He wanted to talk with you more but the conversation gets interrupted by a phone call, he excused himself for a second to take the call and you let him.

It took about 3 minutes before the call ended, you didn't notice that he was finished as you were preoccupied with staring at the towns library ahead, he gently pats your shoulder that surprised you for a moment before facing towards him.

He explained that he had to go because of his mother's party and all of that, you understand what he meant but before you two could go, he wanted to have your number, you were a bit suspicious at first but with your interactions with this man, it gives you the reassurance that you can trust him, you both exchanged numbers and bid farewell to each other. Though the man stopped and looked back at your dainty figure walking away, he smiled and continued to go off for their own matters.

"Is something wrong my love?" He asked, looking at your face, you smiled and continued patting his head.

"It's nothing, I just suddenly remembered how we met in the first place." Your husband chuckled and sat up on the couch, pulling your petite figure on his lap, placing his arms around your waist, and burying his face on your shoulder before sighing.

"I'm very delighted to have met you back then, who knew a flower symbolism expert would caught this greedy heart of mine." muttering on your shoulder, you chuckled and looked down, smiling, seeing both of your ring fingers be accompanied by a ring that signifies both of your undying love for each other, this somewhat feels like a dream.

"indeed I'd never thought someone like me would do such a thing" you heard him chuckle before kissing the back of your ear.

"You're too humble my dear, you should be proud to be able to pull such a person like me." He mentioned, while clearing the hair around the back of your neck, he slowly kisses it and returns back to placing his head on your shoulder.

"I remember that time where you confessed to me... infront of a crowd...." He laughed as he remembered that beautiful time.

While you both were walking towards the cafe that the both of you usually go, Ryusui suddenly stopped with you walking Infront, you noticed him and stopped to look back at him confused.

"Is there something wrong Ryusui?"

He doesn't really respond and just stares at you for a few minutes.

This man has already fell for you since the flower shop incident but he wasn't sure if this is someone he wanted, someone he desires, but at this moment, he made up his mind, all your memories together was something he always cherished and he wants you to be with him and only him everytime you meet up. He smiles brightly before shouting.

"I desire you!"

That was something you never expected him to say, he began to walk towards you slowly, the crowd of people taking a glance or two at them, you knew some were listening but that didn't really matter at the moment. He gently grabbed your hands and holds them softly.

"I desire you, your affection, your attention, your presence, your smile.... and your love."

He looks at you with an endearing face, he is being serious with this, and even if you reject him, he won't stop pursuing you anyway, when there's something or someone that he wants, Ryusui will make sure that he'll get them.

It took you a few seconds to process what is happening, you felt the same way with him and always had, it only started when you got to know each other more, the more you talked the more you fell for him, but you've kept it to yourself until the perfect time comes. 'It seems that time is today' you said to yourself.

You looked at him for a moment, you still couldn't say anything, might aswell show it than say it right? Actions speak louder than words they said.

You slowly lifted your hands to his cheek before pulling him into a kiss, definitely surprising him, as the shock slowly disappeared, he returns the kiss aswell. The crowd around you clapped and cheered for the both of you. Right, you forgot that you were in public, you both pulled away and start chuckling.

"I originally planned it to be somewhere romantic.." He sighed, placing his forehead on yours, you were looking up to him with your arms around his shoulder and his arms around your waist. You giggled at him for his remark.

"I guess you don't like it here then?" You asked as he slowly shook his head.

"I'm very happy that you're finally mine, that's what matters."

Ryusui looks at you with a loving gaze, if anyone was in the room right now and saw the both of you, they would say that this man is very madly inlove with their partner, which is very very true.

You sighed contently before leaning back on his chest feeling comfortable, he hums as he still wraps his arms around you, not showing any signs of letting you go.

"Time passes very fast huh?" You muttered making him hum in agreement, he's enjoying himself right now by snuggling on your shoulder, his cheeks very flush with a big wide smile on his face, you look back and chuckle at his expression, although you're no different either as your cheeks are flushed aswell.

Turning back to face him, hugging his chest, and enjoying each others presence. You look up to see him smiling endearingly at you, before pulling you into a soft and sweet kiss.

"I love you...my love.." Ryusui mutters, looking at you with loving eyes, you smile brightly at him.

Indeed, he is the greediest man in the world. as he finally captured the heavens to his heart.

Can I request how would Senku, Tsukasa, Ryusui and Xeno (if you're familiar with him) (separately, slightly angst??) react to finding out their s/o has self-harm scars/is self-harming? If you're not comfortable writing that, it’s totally okay!! Senku: alternatives. Senku could handle the emotional shtick pretty well, even if it wasn't his forté, but with a matter so sensitive, he opted to go for what he did best; using his knowledge of science to help you in whatever ways he can.

Senku has always been a man of action, and so that’s the way to go for him. His care and concern is expressed through his means of trying to help you cope or recover, but you can also see it in his eyes when he catches glimpses of the scars.

He has a good eye and good intuition- besides, he cares about you enough to know what makes you tick. He tries to prevent your harmful thoughts or redirect your attention away from them before they can manifest further. This usually means making some witty comment that you can resonate with, or having Senku whisk you away to aid him in a science experiment, finding ways to keep your hands and mind busy on something fun and creative that can help you relieve stress. 

His medical knowledge comes in handy when he suggests harm minimization strategies, and he knows sometimes they can feel silly or not do enough justice, but if he can do anything at all to ease the pain in your mind and keep you away from harm, he’ll absolutely be doing it, whether its physical means of relieving yourself in slightly safer and less damaging ways, such as trying to reduce how often you harm and what means you use. He teaches you about all these other methods as well, from something more mellow to drawing on skin to something a bit reminiscent of the pain, such as physical activity. 

Whatever it may be, Senku will absolutely be using it in an attempt to help you, but makes sure not to push too hard with them, and simply suggest or show you methods and let you dictate for yourself whether they were helpful or not. Whatever it is you choose, he'll always make an active effort to help support you in whatever ways he can with his knowledge of science.

Tsukasa: listens judgment free. He understands feeling isolated, and from experience, he knows how simply hearing a person out can go a long way. He understands that the subject is difficult to talk about, and so he’ll never pressure you into opening up about details you’re uncomfortable with. He lets you take your time, always making sure to be there for you in other ways to reinforce in your mind that he’s someone you could trust. 

Whether you pour out your feelings or only reveal bits and pieces in the way you’re most comfortable, he won’t once interrupt until he’s sure you’re finished talking. All his attention is fixed on you, and he doesn’t overwhelm you with questions or his own opinions either. Telling a person to stop is much easier said than done, and so he doesn’t, instead doing his best to communicate that he’s here for you if he can do anything at all to help.

Though not too familiar with alternatives himself, he remembers soothers that helped calm his sister when she was a baby, and he offers to try them on you when the urge arises. Though maybe childish, if they could distract you even for a little while, Tsukasa was glad. And even though he’ll always gently direct you to people and resources that could be of better help, if all you need sometimes is a listening ear to vent, he’ll always be right there with absolutely no exceptions. 

Ryusui: pampers. The man is treating you like royalty. But not before he gives you some sort of inspiring or emotional speech. No matter if it comes out harsh or corny sometimes, it always leaves you feeling the slightest bit lighter.

He’s distressed by this habit of yours of course, and it’s evident in his face that he’s biting back on a comment when it’s addressed. He doesn’t mean any harm or to be overbearing, and he never is. He’s not one to pressure or guilt you, he knows better than that.

He tends to intervene sometimes however, occasionally overstepping with good intention. He’d much rather have you safe and angry at him over anything else if he does tend to overstep. In general however, he just wants to look out for you and help you cope safely. 

Cue all the pampering that comes in. Cue all the projects he immerses you in to keep you busy, hands and mind preoccupied with his endless amount of enthusiasm and constant new interests because he knows from experience that working away on something has always made him feel good. Besides, it occupies his mind for weeks. He’s always thinking of you and ways to uplift you- it’s how he’s always been with you. 

He knows he can hire the best of the best medical staff to assist in helping break this habit, but he mostly has that group of staff train him to help assist you, because he knows going to other people can be stressful and difficult and he hopes he can be someone you lean on during those vulnerable moments to carefully take care of you and your wounds. 

Say the word, and he’ll buy you the world to help lessen the pain in your heart. 

Xeno: encourages medical help. He’s a scientist and an astronaut after all. He’s undergone medical training himself, and he knows quite a bit about psychology. He uses both in an attempt to try to help ease your mind and your pain. 

The very first thing he’ll suggest is seeking medical assistance. He’s a man of science, of course, and science can help you recover. But going for help isn’t easy, especially if you don’t have the means to do it. So he always makes sure to remind you that his services are open any time you need them.

He’s treating your wounds the moment they appear, and encourages you to at least see him regarding the issue. He never gets upset if you don’t, because he knows these kind of things are sensitive and hard to deal with, but he’ll always do his best to remind you in subtle and non-invasive ways that he was a person you could trust, and that he wasn’t going to shame you or let anyone else shame you.

He’ll check up on you from time to time, but won’t press for any details or emotional chats. Like Senku, Xeno is a man mainly of action, and he has good observational skills. He also does his best to try and minimize the damage before it can grow into something dangerous.

His means of looking out for you are more traditional and upfront, but they aren't any less well-intentioned, only wanting to make sure you're safe and healthy.

After they had arrived back to the village from their treasure island travel, they set their eyes on reviving [name] along with Tsukasa. 

Though hers and Ryusui's reunion were quite expected, she didn't imagined that her revival was marked with a travel to North America. 

''You're serious about this?'' [name] asked them, her eyes darting around the room as she was filled in with all the details that she had missed prior to her revival, ''I-I mean... you managed to do all of these...but reviving the world?'' 

It wasn't an ideal situation, to play a role of a savior in a stone world along with the petrification device in their disposal, [name] knew that this won't end well. 

And now, they're telling her about their plans which involves travelling all the way to America for a chance to see if the potential Ground Zero, the source, and all the possible solutions would be found there. Although the group is quite diverse in terms of knowledge and specialty, [name] could see that they lack a lot of things, especially when it comes to weapons. 

''No guns?''

''Nope. Limited ammo.'' Senku responded nonchalantly. 

''Alright.'' [name] said dejectedly, letting out a sigh as she began to assess over everyone else on the deck. 

The rest of the crew are taking their time to rest and unwind from today's work, some of them are drinking, others are simply eating their food, and some are training. To her, they looked like a bunch of young adults who had so much free time in the world and decided to spin the globe and it landed on America which they concluded as their next destination. 

As she took a sip of her drink, [name]'s eyes landed on her star shaped marks on her arm. From what Senku had explained, the marks are from the petrification and was likely weathered down over the years. 

[name] doesn't like it. Not one bit. 

There are various marks all over her body, some small while others are visible from afar. From her right arm, the back of her neck, her legs, and even underneath her eyes, it meant that she would be an easy target due to how distinct their patterns are. 

Ever since she woke up, those around her openly expressed how rare it was to acquire those marks, as they barely have any on their body. [name] sees it as flaws even though it added to her looks, but not like she could do anything about it. 

''I'll join...'' [name] said to Senku, who looked genuinely glad that she finally made a decision halfway through the trip, ''However, you do realize that I'm from America right?'' 

The scientist let out a chuckle at her words, ''Don't worry. Ryusui had told us about it.'' Senku said, his eyes glancing on the blonde man as he opened up the casino for the night, ''He won't stop yapping about -'' 

''That's not what I'm concerned about.'' She said to him, ''I want you to know that I will be taking this as a job, not just me voluntarily joining your group.'' 

Senku could only hum in response, not fully grasping her words. There were no records of her existence back in the modern world and in Japan, Ryusui and Francois are the only ones who seemed to know her very well. As the scientist looked at her more closely, if he had crossed paths with her back in the modern world, he would surely remember her face. 

With stories that Ryusui had told them, it reflected that [name] has a very curated life ever since she could remember. A very close confidant of the Nanami Conglomerate, but not well known enough to be recognized as one of their daughters. Still, she let the main family be on the spotlight while she simply lived her life away from it, and fleeing to America is a way for her to break free from everything else. But that wasn't enough. 

The family have various connections all over the world and [name] would still be on their radar unless she do something about it. If there's one thing the family hated the most, is involving themselves in politics and the government. Not because they didn't like how things are being run but rather it affects their business as a whole. Therefore, she joined the military once she turned eighteen and had been part of it ever since. 

''I may or may not encounter some folks once we arrive.'' [name] said, her voice soft as the scientist listened to every word she said. She was calm, as usual, eerily calm for someone who seemed to know what awaits them in the foreign lands, ''But I won't betray you if that's what you're worried about.''

Weeks had passed and [name] had fallen into a routine along with the rest of the warrior group. They immediately began their training as a form of preparation of what may happen once they arrived in America, and also to teach them new skills that may be useful later on. The voyage wasn't easy as it require a lot of manpower due to limited time frame and rushing to arrive just in time for the harvesting of corn that Senku is after. 

In the training room on the 2nd floor below the deck, Ginro couldn't help but hide away in a secluded place as Tsukasa and the others began sparring with each other. [name] had been watching him for a while but she didn't say anything since he wouldn't listen to anyone but Matsukaze and his brother, Kinro. Instead, her focus are on Kirisame and Kohaku, who she admit is far more advance in terms of fighting skills, especially in their generation. 

Their entire schedule consists of training sessions and those who came from the modern world had taught them how to read and write Japanese, which won't be easy for those who never learned formal language throughout their life. Although the villagers speaks Japanese, the likelihood that they know how to write in that language is slim to none. Since their main mode of passing knowledge from one generation to another is through word of mouth, there are no written records or any kind of basis on what they know. 

Still, they tried to learn the terminologies used in the modern society as well as pick up a few English words here and there which could be useful somehow, [name] hopes so. 

As she hangs out with Homura at the upper deck, they were looking for signs that land may be near when she looked up and saw the pink haired girl signaled that she had seen something through the scopes. And just like she suspected, they are now nearing America. 

"It's been so long...too long." Ginro said while tearing up then cheered along with others.

"Land for our feet! And our bellies want meat!"

"Ha ha.... Of course." Ukyo said watching them from afar, chuckling as he sees them prancing around and celebrating, "We couldn't consume much meat on our long sea voyage."

"Hm. And with all our training, the battle team has been really craving animal based protein." Tsukasa continued while Kirisame visibly drooled on the idea of eating meat since all they had been eating is either seafood or desserts.

"Oh duh. We can probably hunt wild animal on dry land!" Taiju said, more like yelled, "What sorta beasts live in this continent?!"

'I got one in mind..... And he certainly live up to the name.' [name] thought to herself as everyone seemed unaware on what kind of danger awaits them.

"I wouldn't know since this is my first overseas vacay. Wa ha ha! Never thought my first time outta Japan would be like this."

"Vacay? Really?" Minami asks.

"Heh heh heh. Jokes like that are part of this peabrain's charm." The white and green haired scientist said.

"Look, past the fog." Homura said gaining their attention.

There are mountains of statues and some had already become one with nature. [name] noticed the silence that soon followed afterwards upon seeing the reality of the circumstances that they live in. Among all the petrified statues residing here on Earth, only a few had managed to be freed from that state.

But not everyone else was fortunate enough for that. Nature is neither an enemy or an ally and being turned into stone, being eroded away is a slow and sure way to die without having the consciousness of being alive.

"Come on people... We knew as much already." The mentalist said. "But I suppose, this is the first time we've ventured outside of Japan we have no way of really knowing what had become of the world. There was still a chance that our impostor Lillian's story could have been somehow rue-tay.'' Gen knew that the little white lie he had once told to everyone could have a chance of becoming true. But reality was quick to diminish that idea, ''That Japan was still petrified while the rest of the world had already been revived or even some countries had somehow beaten the petri-beam to begin with! Somewhere in our hearts... We we're holding on to hope! However faint it might have been."

Sensing the sudden change of mood from everyone, [name] quickly pinched Gen's side who shrieked from the pain. He looked at her silently asking what was she thinking but only gotten a glare from her.

"Read the atmosphere you dimwit. I appreciate the fact that you're trying to keep things within the boundary of reality but they just got depressed! You're a mentalist for god's sake! Next time this happen I'll-" [name]'s ranting was cut off by Kohaku, who spotted something.

"That cape jutting out.. I see a bunch of statues clumped together."

Gen mentally thank the blonde warrior for saving his ass and also for changing the topic of the conversation.

"You're right. But why?"

The question was answered by Senku easily, "Must've been a series of car crashes. A huge pileup. Then the cars eroded over time... leaving only the petrified drivers."

"But why were the cars under the water?" Yo asked.

"There must have been loads of cars around here. I passed by my own boat a few thousand years back." Ryusui said, remembering the time he had traveled here.

It's once marked the gateway to the Pacific. Cutting through San Francisco's fog with it's red brilliance. The Golden Gate Bridge.

"Right..." Yuzuriha muttered, "It's all gone now, though. Everything humanity have ever made."

"Deep down, we kinda thought that...this was our last chance for finding help."

"Don't look at it that way, guys!" Taiju yelled. "Once we find some corn and starting growing it...we can totally revive everyone in the world with the power of science!"

"Yeah." Senku said with hands on his hips. "We're gonna save 'em all. All 7.8 billion members of humanity."

"We're gonna scour the land till our feet hurt real baaad... To find that corn!" Chrome said inside the lab.

"It'll be ifficult-day. The U.S. is absurdly vast." Gen said worriedly.

"We were always taking a gamble on finding any corn at all." Senku said while staring at the map. "But one spot near here could be the corn belt we're looking for. Since we arrived on the west coast, it had to be Northern California, enter San Francisco Bay and follow the sacramento river to where it used to be sacramento....."

"Slow down please, we don't all have encyclopedic knowledge of american geography." Gen said as he didn't understood one single thing that Senku had just explained.

"You mean we gotta follow this river to find corn? Why didn't ya say so?!" Chrome yelled.

"You're always ready to dive in and adapt, dear Chrome. The ideal search team leader...."

"It's nearly the time of the year where the corn will wither. I wonder if we make it on time." Ukyo said out loud.

"Yeah. That's the issue. But the earth experience called precession. Kinda like how a toy top starts titling as it spins. And the planet's rotational axis has tilted a little over three thousand and seven hundred years... It affected the Earth's climate in a way that will help us since the season is changing nine days later now."

"Oohhh."

"And extended deadline! Nice!"

"The downside is that climate change is gonna affect the ecosystem in weird ways. Let's just hope that no beasts decides to attack us."

"Actually, we would welcome a beast attack." Tsukasa said bluntly.

"Yeah." Kohaku said in agreement.

"Mhm..wait-what?"

Gen was looking at the window and saw a very familiar looking animal in the waters.

"Speak of the devil..as always, dear Senku. I should have ealized-ray. " The mentalist took a deep breath and continued. "It's not merely you have bad luck, you have none to speak of! You use your scientific mind to concoct the worst-case scenario and as soon as you utter it..."

The battle team appeared out of nowhere with serious expression on their faces, until they saw the alligators.

"Meat! Meat! Meat!" Kohaku and Yo chanted.

"So that's what they meant...about welcoming an attack." Ginro said finally understanding what they had stated earlier.

"Yes, I'm grateful for the circle of life." Tsukasa said with a blank expression on his face.

"How.... antastic-fay."

[name] stayed behind and let them handle the alligators by themselves. Her senses are telling her that she should, and she did just that. So far, nothing is wrong. It was calm before a storm, she mused. Everything seemed to be going according to plan. Senku has now found the corn he had been searching for and the land they've covered barely have enough evidence that there's a group of people residing in this continent.

"Now that we've stepped foot on the American soil... there's one thing we definitely need to eat!" Ryusui said, snapping his fingers.

Francois cooked the alligator meat while [name] serves them the burgers. Everyone had gathered around the campfire as they took a quick break. Things had been going well

"Senku." Tsukasa suddenly called, showing him what looks like the gut of the animal. "The alligator swallowed this whole."

The scientist caught it in his hands, "An ear of the corn? And just the special American variety we're after."

[name] saw what he was holding and muttered, "Corn City is where we're going?"

He nodded before handing her what Tsukasa had thrown at him, "Yes. We need these for the production of alcohol. The key ingredient for revival fluid."

"We've only made camp dear Senku. And you're putting white cloth over a light?" Gen questions as the scientist continued his work.

"Wouldn't shining a bright light at night just attracts bugs?" Taiju asks.

"That's the point. And if my guess are right..." Senku trailed off as he saw what kind of moths he caught. "The European corn border moth subsists mostly on corn. Which means there's a ton of corns nearby!"

"A butterfly? How pretty." Kohaku muttered, staring at it. Insects isn't something she really paid attention to but she can't deny that what she's seeing right now is really pretty.

"A moth, actually." Senku answered nonchalantly, but then realized that Kohaku had mistook moths as butterflies. "Kohaku...and the rest of you villagers. Have you guys ever seen this type of moth before?"

"Hah! Come to think of it, no. Never. But I don't really pay attention to different types of moths." Kohaku replied with her arms crossed on her chest.

"These things love to snack on grains so...when humanity went extinct you'd expect this moth's population to take a serious hit." He looked at the moths dancing around the light, which is the opposite of what he expected this to be, "But look how many have gathered in less than no time. Seems way too many right? Enough to make one wonder if someone out there is growing a cornfield."

Taiju looked at the two scientists who have this troubled expression on their faces, "Wa! Ha! Ha! What's got you looking so gloomy!? I mean, we've got a whole heap of people to revive so finding out cornfield sounds like good news to me!"

[name] could only wish she have Taiju's carefree attitude and being optimistic about dire situations like this. Francois is busy tending to everyone else and Ryusui is also busy doing something else.

Standing right beside Tsukasa who is near the river, looking outwards to the forest filled with large and tall trees. The terrain isn't any different than what it was like back in Japan yet the two of them couldn't deny that they have a disadvantage here. They've just arrive and if there's indeed an enemy after them, their sole advantage would be the environment. Tsukasa noticed [name] clutching her sword and gazing at the distance. He couldn't see anything in the darkness nor hear anything beyond like Ukyo or her, but he could tell that they're not alone in this place. And the presence on the woods is more than enough reason for him to be on high alert. 

"I sense, bloodlust." Tsukasa said as he stare deep into the woods, trying to see if someone's is lurking nearby but to no avail due to the darkness of the night.

"Is it some sort of wild beast?" Kohaku asked as she held her sword tightly.

"But with the ultimate battle squad here, there's nothing to fear!" Ginro stated, smugness laced in his voice as his elder brother is having none of it.

"Says the one hiding behind me."

"Yes I am very familiar with that sort of ki." Matsukaze added on.

"Ki? There's no such thing." Tsukasa stated. "I believe this odor comes from the breakdown of the adrenaline but I'm not sure of it."

The brown haired man need to protect the people he is with right now. 'What's that faint scent on the wind?' Tsukasa thought. 'Smoke? From the gun that had been fired?'

[name] turned to see where Ryusui is and quickly ran to his side. There wasn't any malice directed at any of them, but rather, it is focused on the whole team. ''He's targeting us.'' She said, staying close to where he is, ''Let's leave.''

Hyoga heard what [name] had said and then soon realize that everything was way too suspicious. They found corn floating down the river and it ended here, near the forest. "The enemy had done well." Hyoga said. "Seems like we were the one who got lured in."

With that Tsukasa yelled to alert everyone, "To the boat now! Take cover!"

Right then and there, they are being rained by bullets and at the same time, they tried to avoid it. [name] reflected them easily with her sword and ensured Ryusui and the rest are alright. Senku barely got in the lab and protect himself with the carbon shield, while the woman was grabbed by Hyoga into the lab.

As they made their escape down the river, [name] was certain that she saw the lower half of the person's face, and they were smoking a cigarette and smirking. They are waiting, she thought to herself as they fled the forest and went back to the Perseus. 

Once they arrived back at the ship, [name] was still trying to rack her mind on where she swore she saw that face before. Even though she only caught a glimpse of half of their face, she was certain that she saw is somewhere. 

The entire night was eerily familiar. This very place. She doesn't know if she should run or flee or stay. For a moment, the group saw [name] froze for a split second before we went and protected them.

''Do you know them?'' Hyoga asked curiously, as they made their back to the ship to come up with another plan.

''No.'' Was all [name] said as she thank Hyoga for what she did earlier and stayed silent throughout the trip.

Yet, he somehow starts to doubt those very same facts the moment when it comes to you.

Ryusui sighs, putting down his own glass. Nevermind. "I think it's best you go to bed now." Grabbing your arm, he throws it over your shoulder, hauling you up. Drowsily, you only nod. "Yessir.."

Luckily, you weren't that far gone, and could walk properly. So, it was no problem getting you to your room. But before he could leave you by the doorway, you suddenly reach out, surprising him.

"Hey, Ryu." you mutter, leaning on the door. He looks at you curiously, listening. "Yes?"

"I like you." you sway your head, a little sleepy. "It's fun every time I'm with you."

Ryusui stills for a moment. You yawn, letting go of him. "Well, g'night, Ryu." is the last thing you say before entering, closing the door behind you.

A beat, and one more, before, a tint of pink dusts his cheeks.

Ryusui was completely shocked when he found out about this, and felt it was something that needed to be fixed, so for the next festival he bought the most expensive dolls, a gigantic amount of sweet rice crackers and mochi, and personally prayed for [Name]'s well-being, and Francois joined him!

• Ryusui's family obviously didn't like his choice of partner very much, but of course they wouldn't like any choice he made, so it's not worth worrying about too much. Francois, on the other hand, are very nice to [Name]; they like the fact that she genuinely loves their master for who he is. Then there's Sai, but [Name] has seen very little of him so far. Even so, they were able to get along since they both loved games. Who knows, maybe [Name] can even help the Nanami brothers understand each other..?

He wasn’t too concerned with what everybody was doing, but your behavior doesn’t go unnoticed.

He watched as you picked through almost thousands of drago and only spent a few, and it almost seemed like you were scared to.

Ryusui had practically thrown drago at you because you were nearby and he complimented you and gave you plenty of money, so why were you spending SO cautiously like you were down to nickels and dimes? (I know nothing about Yen so I don’t know if there is an expression equivalent in Japanese)

You have nothing to really save the money for, so why were you debating so hard over spending it on a shirt. You wanted the shirt, didn’t you?

Eventually, he’d found out from somebody that knew you that your family was poor. He had thought something like that must have been the case, but now he knows for sure.

He’d likely encourage you to spend a bit more. Either that, or he’d bluntly tell you there is no reason to keep the money so close to you anymore.

There's a smell lingering in the air, so sweet—not too overwhelming sweet, more leaning towards the tamer side of scents—and yet at the same time bitterly, which wanders through everyone hut and pulls them in to an carving of appetite.

»Would you like to taste them first, Captain?« François—after pulling out a new batch of the pastries they have made today, after all the new Oven, which Senku had newly created, have to be tested out—offers a plate to their friend.

Of course, when it comes to François culinary skills, Ryusui is always the first one to be there and, he's a Captain after all, gets to have the very first batch before everyone else.

»They look like Croissants. Are they some?«

»They are. Though I've touched them up with some filling.«

Ryusui takes a bite, than another and another one soon after—having eating three croissants by now—but the more he chewed and not devouring it like a man in starvation, which he always do so though, the more he really notice the taste of the filling itself.

It's a filing, rare in use—at least in Japan, despite their variety use of wild flavours and combinations, but in Europe it's definitely something common—Ryusui hadn't tasted in while and such bursting flavour rattles up memories, he couldn't believe not remembering anymore.

»Captain? Everything okay?« François wouldn't say they were worried about Ryusui, he didn't look sick or injured, but when their Captain stopped eating—dropping the pastry back on the plate, head down in his hand and clutching his hair—François admits, something must be wrong with their Captain to make him act like this.

Oh, such taste! Such wonderful taste, which is like heaven for the tongue, Ryusui hadn't in a million decades to experience once more, not after what happened with his fiancé—and oh god, how could Ryusui start forgot about him, his sweet treasure.

The others have come as well to François little, testing, bakery hut—wanting a taste of such goodies as well—but upon seeing Ryusui so shaken up, does worry them.

François shrugs their shoulders, »It seems, my Captain is in a state of shock.«

They all huddled around him, repeatedly asking if he's okay, because seeing Ryusui Nanami so shaken up and with tears brimming in his eyes, was such a unsettling sight to witness—after all, Ryusui is a person of big confidence.

»Give the man some space!« Gen snapped at the others, wrestling himself through the small crowd—grabbing Ryusui's arm and pulling him upwards to stand.

»I'm sorry...« although Ryusui had mumbled it so quietly, Senku and Gen had still heard it—given one another a glance.

»C'mon, let's take a walk and you tell us what's going on to make you so shaky.« Senku puts an arm round his friend shoulder, leading him with Gen away from the others.

These exquisite pastries, with their unique flavour to taste, had become your favourite—one of the few remaining foods you still had an appetite for—during the last few months of you still getting to live, before death embraces you.

It was a accidental discovery from Ryusui, when he had rummaged through the kitchen in hopes of finding something to snack on—anything really, wouldn't have mattered if it's had been a salty or sweet snack as long as it was something you still had the energy to munch on without feeling like to vomit afterwards—but this weekend the cabinets had been all empty.

Ryusui had cursed, loud enough for you to hear, slamming shut the doors again, stuttering out an excuse not to worry and how's everything is fine afterwards—it's already bad that Ryusui himself is fumbling with uprising panic, he doesn't want you to get all, or even much more, anxious as well now.

»Here, I've brought these baked goodies this morning. They're European exquisites and the newest delicious hype in our upperclass.«

Ryusui presents the plate to you, like he does with every gift he has brought you, in a striking gesture of flaunting wealth—even though all these expensive gifts had not brought you the happiness Ryusui had hoped for—and perhaps this saying of money can't buy you happiness is true—it still makes you chuckle whenever Ryusui does these silly poses of presentations.

Money had never been a problem for Ryusui, although before—in contrast to now, with his thriving thirst for greed and constant succession—he hadn't cared about money, despite being from a wealthy family with a huge company—which Ryusui also didn't wanted to become the next heir to it as he much rather wished to pursue another career—at all, but than you had become ill and now Ryusui believes money could make everything better.

»Ryu...« upon hearing your voice, which sounded on the verge of tears, Ryusui turns to you—worry etching onto his face.

»Are you okay [Nickname]? Does your wounds hurt?«

»Ryu,« you continued to sniff around in teary hiccups.

Taking your hands in his, Ryusui asks again, »Tell me, [Nickname], what is wrong?«

Glancing down to your bandaged wrist, Ryusui checks if you're bleeding thru them—if your self inflected wounds are much deeper than he had anticipated at first, when treating your wounds.

After your diagnosis, where you had been told you only would live for a few more years—definitely not making it past your early twenties—you had fallen into a depression, having no desire anymore to enjoy the rest of your life and neither do you feel like to continue it—tried more than once, unsuccessfully, to take your own life.

At some point you had gotten better, mentally at least—and although not completely, still having your occasional weeks of an overdue breakdown, which leads you to carve into self-harming tendencies and thoughts—thanks to Ryusui help, who stayed by your side all this time and tried his best to be as supportive as possible—even when it meant going from a little shy and calm personality to a sharp confidently one.

But tonight something must have shaken you so badly up, that you cut much deeper—with a force to definitively leave scars behind—and if Ryusui hadn't checked up on you, when you take awfully long enough a bath, you would've died of blood loss for sure.

»These croissant, they are so yummy! Really yummy! And I just– I just– just have realised that, that I won't ever can't eat such delicious treats with you together soon and I– I« your voice cracks, breaking down in Ryusui arms now, weeping out your heart.

»It's okay! It's okay, [Nickname]! I promise you, we will eat as many croissants as we want!«

»Love you much, Ryu! I love you so much!«

Ryusui's breath hitched, in all these years—when getting the diagnosis—you hadn't said any “I love you” to him at all, not because you had fallen out of love with him, but because these few mere words were heavy on your tongue—felt to sacred to say on a daily base when times seems to run out.

»Love you too, [Name]. I really do love you too, my golden treasure.«

»Aah, I see. François croissants had brought back these memories and now you felt guilty, because you believe you've forgetting [Name].« concluded Gen, looking at Ryusui—who still desperately tries to hold in his own tears.

»You know, Ryusui, we can build a proper gravestone. To honour [Name] and than you can bring him sometimes the croissants he loved so much.«

»That sounds nice. Thank you Senku.«

»Anything for you my Captain and friend.«

Ryusui wasn’t paying attention that much while helping out Senku with something, that’s why at dinner he was taken aback when [YourName] had complimented him for his efforts. They may have thought nothing of it, but Ryusui sure did and it kept him up at night too. After Francois had been excused for the night, Ryusui laid and stared at the ceiling of the hut for what seemed like hours just replaying that moment in his head. He groaned and covered his face, aggravated that he’s allowing someone to get him so flustered. He couldn’t remain mad for long though.
