Soujuurou’s Line for Void Shiki has some pretty interesting implications no? Did he meet a being connected to the root on the mountain?

When I was in the mountains, I saw someone like her once. A bird flying in the faintly-colored sky before sunrise. I was beautiful in a way I can't describe with words and made me emotional in a way words can't describe.

Soujuurou apparently saw a Fount-connected bird in the mountains. What's this supposed to mean? Well, it's Soujuurou, so it has to be a Mahoyo character. What character there is a bird? The only one we know is Robin but he lacks the connection and this is definitely not the emotion he invokes.

So maybe it's not a literal bird. Let's look at Alice's FGO profile.

The witch hidden away in the present day. The last bird.

For good measure, let's also look at Morgan. She frequently calls herself a witch, and she recognizes on sight what Beryl is, so we know she knows what she's talking about when she uses the word "witch". So what do her voice lines say?

This is the ruin constantly in my dreams. No recompense nor salvation. At the furthest edges of the world, the bird will sing of a tomorrow. Give me a sign... ROADLESS CAMELOT! The ideal nation. So bird is firmly established as a Nasu code word for witches. Soujuurou coming across a Fount-connected witch in his past makes a lot more sense. Mahoyo has two characters who touched the Fount: Yumina and Grampa Aozaki. And the former happens to be a witch.

So the most likely answer is that Soujuurou came across Yumina (Calhin?) before his first contact with civilization.
