🐟 💛 🐟
Ryohei Matsumoto ( 画家 松本亮平 ) was born in 1988 in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, and currently resides in Yokohama. Holding a Master's degree in Advanced Science and Engineering, specializing in Bioscience, Matsumoto's paintings explore the intersection of art and science, particularly focusing on structural biology.
Matsumoto's art reflects contemporary human society through parables, allegories, and symbols. He draws inspiration from the animal kingdom to explore modern societal dynamics, emphasizing timeless relationships devoid of inherent morality, reminiscent of themes found in mythology and fables. Using living creatures as metaphors, he aims to create universes transcending specific times and places.
Matsumoto's artistic vision blends scientific inquiry with philosophical reflection, resonating with audiences across various genres and movements, from contemporary conceptualism to traditional allegorical storytelling.

"borrow a cat's hand (Japanese proverb)"
Proverb meaning: a metaphor for a shortage of workers, from the meaning of being so busy that you need even the help of a cat, which is useless except to catch rats.
