If you had to add one fan OC to the NWR, who would it be? (Only caveat is that it cannot be a copy of a pre-existing RWS character. This includes Scott.)

This is a tough question! I'm going to guess that I can't include Andrew in this answer (cause that's way too biased), so I'll run on with that in mind. Cause if he was included, it'd be him. He's my OC, and therefore would be my instant pick - and that kind of negates the entire question. Sorry Andrew, maybe next time!

I'm also going to avoid picking Alfred the B12, mostly cause he's one of those characters who has practically melded his way into the series already as 98462.

Ok, so I think a preface to my answer is to note that I grew up on the very early years of the Thomas fandom on YouTube - we're talking 2011 and 2012 (to give you an idea of what was going on around this time, it's only about 2 years after Alfred the B12 was introduced). This era was very much coloured by a hatred of the HiT era, SiF was still the dominant place to find Thomas content, and many of the cornerstones of the Thomas fandom on YouTube were just starting out. And I was not on SiF much at this point (I was a kid back then, and YouTube was easy to find and use) - so I grew up on EE93, WildNorWester and DieselD199.

With this in mind, I would have to pick Alice.

Alice is a WildNorWester OC from their series 'Sodor the Early Years' (link to her debut episode here) and perhaps one of my favourite early era OCs. Then again, it's hard to decide when it comes to WildNorWester simply because they created several of the most notable and well-remembered fan engines - Peter, Eric, Iris, Lily, Adam, Colin and Patrick all originated with WildNorWester, not to mention Andreas and Atlas. And most of them have had up to 10 years to bed into the fandom. EE93's Young Tucker is another good contender, though they're a bit more obscure.

I recommend all three YouTubers and their series'. The quality may not be exactly the greatest anymore, but wow are they incredible to watch!

St Patrick’s Day/St Withburga’s Day/Passion Sunday

Today is St Patrick’s Day. A Scottish myth claims that Patrick was born near Glasgow, and that he was so holy, the Devil sent witches and demons to kill him. Patrick fled to Ireland and the infuriated forces of darkness lobbed a mighty rock after him which missed and became the hill on which Dumbarton Castle now stands. The Welsh say Patrick was born in Dyfed, while the English claim he was born in in Battersea in London. In actual fact it appears Patricius was a Romano-Briton, probably born in 389 near Norton in Northamptonshire. His Irish connection comes by virtue of the fact Irish pirates, a common problem for Roman Britain in the fourth century, raided deep into the province and kidnapped the 16-year old Patricius and sold him as a slave in Ireland where he became known as Padraig, or Patrick. Freed in adulthood, Patrick set up base in Armagh and set about converting the Irish to Christianity. His efforts met with extraordinary success and Patrick ended up not only founding Celtic Christianity, but was also canonised after his death and became the deserved patron saint of Ireland.

Various stories are told of Patrick, including how he rid Ireland of snakes by gathering them all up in a box and casting it into the Irish Sea. The frenetic attempts of the serpents to escape their prison is apparently what explains the Sea’s choppy nature. He is also supposed to have used the native three-leaved shamrock as a device to explain the tricky concept of the Holy Trinity to his pagan audience. Two shrines to Patrick exist, one containing his bell, the other one of his teeth and both are in the National Museum in Dublin.

Today is also St Withburga’s Day. A seventh century Abbess, Withburga was rumoured to have cured a draught in East Dereham Norfolk, by conjuring up two deer to provide an endless supply of milk to her starving nuns. She also appears as a dead ghost: her corpse can be seen being carried in an open coffin by her grieving devotees along the banks of the Little Ouse, near Ely, Cambridgeshire.

In 2024, today is also Passion Sunday, also known as Carling Sunday. In the north east of England carlings, or grey peas, are sold this week in pubs and supermarkets. Although local tradition says this practice commemorates a shipwreck in which a cargo of carlings were washed up on the beach, it is more likely explained by a pagan tradition of eating beans to remember the dead, Christianised on this day to commemorate the upcoming Passion of Christ.

My sister slept through half ot it but tbf to her she'd had a busy day and was tuckered out. Me and the broski loved it. Very creative and a beautifully animated world. Most of the cast are characters of colour so ofc Disney didn't promote it. And the son is gay and gets relationship advice from multiple family members which was really sweet. The ending surprised us too. 🐢

The future was brighter than ever for the Ffarquhar Branch Line. Not only had Thomas and Percy prevented Sodor Mail from terminating connections with the railway, Percy had, accidentally, helped Tom Tipper reunite with Milton, his postal van.

Better still, the incident with the bicycle all but forced the attention to those in charge how overworked the postmen were. The general manager had decided to trial an express postal service to even out the workload. Naturally, Percy was chosen to carry the service.

"Come along, come along," he panted. "Can't be late for our first run!"

"You're doing fine, Percy!" One van encouraged. "Pace yourself, though!"

"Yeah," added another, "we're only about halfway up the line, aren't we?"

"Nah, Percy's got this." The third van interjected. "I've heard good things about this lad and post trains."

Armed with the trucks' confidence, the small green engine forged ahead.

Had a thought come to me about captain and Rw so I wanna share with the class so it doesn’t go to waste;)

They’ve been having a shitty road trip, they’re 6 days into 9 and have lost 4 of those games so far, they’re really not playing like themselves and everyone is frustrated. Tonight they lost 7-3 in a messy game, with multiple penalties, 2 fights, and multiple almost fights.

Everyone’s tired and it’s obvious, but not Steve he’s wired after getting into his first fight in a while during the last 2 minutes of the third. And as soon as he gets into that locker room he gets his phone to check the wife’s schedule, see her next appointment isn’t until tomorrow he calls his wife. Getting the okay From her and sending everything to wifie he begins getting undressed while they’re being screamed at by coach.

He hears the door open and close quickly in the midst of the rant and looks up to see you go and hide in a darkened area where your bag was. Once most of the guys are out and it’s just the the two of you along with patty, and hedman lingering around he makes his way to you quietly. 

Sneaking up behind you he grabs your ponytail yanking your head back and pulling you flushed against his chest. “Capta-“ she starts but gets cut off as he slams his mouth on hers.

“Shut up and let me use you” he says as he pulls away and turns you around. “I’m not going to be nice, I’m gonna fuck you hard and fast so we can get on that bus to the plane and get back to another city where we’ll just end up losing again” he told you as he slides up your skirt.

“Don’t say that captain, you’ll win” you tried but the look he gave you made you shut up and know not to say another word.

“Didn’t I tell you to shut up?” He asked as he started to play with your clit.

“So wet for me huh baby? You like when I get a little mean with you?” All you did was nod

“Yeah I’m sure you do” he said sliding his boxers enough for his dick to pop out, “ready?” He asked “yes captain, I’m ready”

“Cmon pretty lady, there’s a bus waiting on us four” he said as he gave you a sweatshirt to pull on and picked you up.

“Us four? What do you mean us four?” You asked a little worried, “I’m here to honey” said Victor as he made his way to the little corner with a laugh. “Oh my gosh” you said with a shy and embarrassed laugh.

“Don’t worry about it honey, you always sound so pretty” Patty told you. And as Victor grabbed your work bag and other things, the 3 of you made your way to the bus just waiting on the captain.

Anon. Beautiful. beautiful beautiful anon. I read this between 5:30 and 6:00 am while I was half asleep. I woke up, don't know why, and saw this in my inbox. Was half asleep, so it felt a little bit like a fever dream, and it was even better reading it the second time around! Pat and Victor sticking around to watch is perfection. Victor is such a soft, quiet, giant of a man so I could totally see him just sitting back in his stall and just enjoying the view. And we know how much Pat loves his road wives! Our girl is always well taken care of. The best thing about RW is that the way it's written, there are so many appointments left open to interpretation and spaces of time where appointments could happen but I may not have written them out explicitly. So this could easily any into any timeline where these boys all play together and have a 4 game slide. And it could be with any wife, the first wife Elle, the second wife, or any wife that may come after her. Thank you for sharing this with us nonnie!
