Oof.

So, I was thinking about Epsilon and Caboose and how Epsilon is so used to being abandoned that I just realized.

Caboose never left. He stays with him.

He stays with this supposed memory of his dead best friend, who, for all we know, is experiencing the worst time of his short life inside the unit, reliving memories of lives that aren't even his, and then that memory just hears someone talking to him.

Telling all these stories, treating him like another person, and always coming back.

And I can't help but feel that it was a grounding point for him, to be distracted by these stories instead of the painful memories that he'd soon repress until there was no other way than to remember.

Or I'm projecting.

Anyway, Caboose is awesome, Epsilon is my blorbo, and I am reaching hard to excuse my personal headcanons.

i think a lot about how agent washington has SUCH a broad skill set. like he may not be an expert at everything but he's pretty good at a LOT of different things, and seems to be pretty good at learning new things fairly quickly (like his leadership skills during chorus, for example). we think about this a lot in terms of battle/general military skills, but i like to imagine it applies to other, more mundane things as well. one of my main examples i think about often is how after tucker got stabbed in s12, he would've needed someone to help him do his hair since he couldn't do it alone so now suddenly wash is devoting himself to learning how to do braids.

so of course south, who is defined by her anger, who can do nothing but wear her emotions on her sleeve, who explodes like a firecracker and needs everyone to know it, well. of course she’s the Bad Twin, isn’t she?

and north is the Good Twin. north is Positive. he’s Helpful. he’s Cheerful. he will feel a Little Sad, or Slightly Frustrated, or maybe even Disappointed. he doesn’t feel despair, or fury, or grief. he doesn’t feel anger. feeling those things is Childish. and he’s the Adult here, isn’t he? he has to be Mature. he has to be the Good One. he can’t feel the Bad Emotions. he doesn’t feel the Bad Emotions. and if you do, well, aren’t you lucky that north is here to help Take Care of you?
